Que te perdone dios #20 Love don't pay the bills

Tia Mia's makeup is horrible. I'm sorry but every time they showed her on the screen all I could think of was "who ever did her make up needs a new gig", now that I got that of my chest let's get to the recap!

Diego and Abi are having a moment, he tells her that he loves her and she's all like "wha?"- Mateo is walking into the room and Abi spots him, so what does she do? She kisses Diego just to make Mateo jealous. Not cool Abi, not cool AT ALL. Mateo leaves the room slowly and poor Diego never even knows that he is being used, which blows by the way. Once Mateo is out of the room Abi pulls away from Diego and tells him that she's sorry but she is very confused, he is her best friend and she has no idea how she feels. Diego with tears in his eyes tells her that he will fight for her. My goodness, Valencia is a beautiful man. Sorry, I get distracted when I see pretty things. Ahem. Back to the recap.

Diana and Tia Mia entertain Helena, they bemoan the fact that Mateo never showed up, and Diana makes it a point to let Helena know that she spent hours, HOURS slaving in the kitchen. Uhhu, we believe you Diana...not! Finally Helena makes her escape and when she's gone the claws come out. Tia Mia tells Diana that she is getting  very "ordinary" mother in law, Diana replies "what do I care? I'm marrying Mateo not his mother"

Helena is walking back home when Fausto who was stalking Diana's place drives up next to her and tells her to get in the car. He questions Helena and tells her does not want her to be around Diana. She asks why not, after all Diana will be marrying her son. Fausto is having none of this and tells her Mateo will not be getting married to Diana, when Helena asks why he says that it's because he is sending Mateo out of the country to study a specialty. Helena tells him that she does not want to be separated from her son again, but it's not like Fausto cares what she wants. Can I ask, Mateo is an adult, so why does Fausto think he can still tell him what to do? Macaira sees Fausto and Helena arrive together and she is not amused.

Fausto seems to want to spread the misery around and so when he finds his wife and Patricio together he lays into her for going to the doctor, how dare she put herself in harms way? Especially now that they are planning on having a baby? This conversation makes Patricio uncomfortable and he excuses himself. Once he is gone Fausto tells Renata that she is not to go riding anymore and that he will be coming into her room that night to ummm, ummm, try and uh make a baby (ewwww).

Pat has made his mind up to leave and as he is packing a suitcase Constanza walks in and starts to scream. You see she has confused him with the late Pablo and she asking him if he is leaving with her daughter, Pat tries to tell her she's confused but Constanza continues to ask when he is leaving and if he is taking Renata with him. He says that yes, he is in fact leaving but that Renata is not going with him.

This sends her into a state and she asks him if he loves Renata, he says he does and then Constanza begs him to take Renata away and to keep her safe from evil Fausto. I can't remember which scene came first but later Pat confesses his love to Renata and kisses her- the kiss was a little awkward but hey it's better than nothing, right?

Mateo talks to Diana and apologizes for not showing up to dinner, she says it's nothing new, he always puts everyone ahead of her (oooo fighting words!) but then she switches gears and tells him that she has set a date for the wedding-they will be getting married in a month! Mateo tells her the wedding will have to wait because he is leaving Mexico to study a specialty. When he leaves Tia Mia tells Diana that she has no doubt that Mateo will one day be very successful and have a lot of money-but until then he has nothing and she is better off milking Fausto for everything he has. Diana says she can't leave Mateo because she loves him and Tia Mia reminds her that "love does not pay the bills". She is such a romantic! By the way earlier in the episode Tia was worried that Diana would get caught playing both men and end up alone. She might have horrible makeup but she is the brains of this operation.

Abi spends the night with Renata and foils Faustos icky plans! Score one for the good guys!

Abi meets up with Dorotea and tells her that she kissed Diego to make Mateo jealous, Dorotea is not happy because she has a thing for Diego (don't we all?), she asks Abi if she has tried to tell Mateo that his girlfriend is a skank and she says that she has but he won't believe it until he sees it with his own eyes, which leads us to what I feel is the best part of the episode.

Mateo and Helena are out for a walk, he tells her that he plans to leave town for the city because Pat wants to go home but can't drive himself. She worries about him, who will make his breakfast and iron his clothes? He tells her he will figure it out, he knows she hates the city and Abi needs her, then he invites her to go with him to see Diana whose house is right down the street. Helena says that she does not want to be a third wheel and that she's sure he and Diana will want to be alone. So off goes Mateo to see his cheating girlfriend, and who should come to the door? Dorotea. And what does she do? She lets Mateo in without first warning Diana and Mia which means that Mateo comes *this* close to catching Fausto and Diana going at it. Luckily for Diana, aunt Mia sees Mateo in time and them pushes Diana into her room and plants a kiss on Fausto, making it look like he is having an affair with her not with Di. Mateo buys it because he is dumb and the second he is gone Fausto and Diana lock themselves in Mias room for some adult fun. I hope they cleaned the sheets!

Ah, I almost forgot, Macaira and Lucio have wild monkey sex after he reveals to her that Fausto has killed not only Pablo but his own brother as well! To the audience it is revealed that Helena and Fausto had an affair, and Fausto's brother found out, there was a fight and a teen-aged Lucio got in the way and shot Fausto's brother, my word, what did Fausto put in Lucios water that the man is willing to kill for him, even as a kid?

And I'm done! Have a good Valentines Day everyone!

Eli- I'm glad you put the recap up. I was all dolled up, ready to head out to a party, went downstairs and found that it was snowing and my car was covered in it. This Southern Californian doesn't drive in the snow. Especially not at night and not when the roads haven't been treated. I'm staying in. Better for my and everyone's safety. :) Now, let me dive into your recap and maybe fix some hot chocolate.

Gah that blows Vivi! I live in Socal and we can't even drive when it sprinkles, let alone when it rains, and snow? Forget about it!

Eli I grew up in SoCal, so ditto.

Would you hate me if I told you it's so warm out here that I had to have the AC on?

Eli- No. I won't hate you. :) I did make the choice to move to the East Coast of my own free will years ago. :)

Thanks for the great recap! As I mentioned earlier, I thought the kiss switch was a hoot. That Mia knows how to think quickly, when she's not tipsy on wine.

Diana's maid's name is Teodora. Glad she scolded Abi about kissing Diego to make Mateo jealous. Renata also gently scolded her at the end of the episode as they both lay awake thinking of the kisses they got from their hot docs.

The other thing that happened this epi was a new character, Nieves, being contracted to work as a maid in Enramada. She was giving Mateo the eye and even mentioned to Helena that she thinks he's hot.

Eli, if you didn't see the episode where Helena admits to the padre that Mateo is Fausto's kid and how she told his brother, you should. Or at least read Jardinera's amazingly good recap of her confession.

Hi everyone!

For anybody that's interested, the 'masquetelenovelas' website has recently posted a VERY in-depth page detailing pretty much everyone of the characters in this novela (including those of Laisha Wilkins and Fabian Robles, among others). Here is the link:
http://masquetelenovelas.blogspot.com/2015/02/quien-es-quien-en-la-telenovela-que-te.html#more

It is, like with everything on that website, entirely in Spanish.

BE FOREWARNED, though- many of the descriptions are so in-depth that they could definitely constitute being spoilers, but I thought I'd bring it to everyone's attention anyways for those who are interested.

Best wishes to all!

Stevey- Yes. Definitely filled with spoilers. Just avoid it if you don't want to know.

Vivi: ITA "Lucio lost my sympathy when he threw Helena out of her house like" and Mac lost what little bit of sympathy from me after she slept with Lucio to learn Feisty's secret. Blech.

Eli: Love the title and will have to wait to read till late tonight. Will comment more after.

Happy belated Valetines everyone!!! I was super busy all day, I cant wait to read recap and comments. I just wanted to say that it was so funny to see Faurto bathed, cologned up and wearing Hgh Hefner jammies for his "embarazo" visit to Renata. Well, instead of having Abi there, I thought she should've invited Macaria instead. Macaria would be so thrilled to pretend she is Renata. Dimming of the lites, wearing Renata's perfume and her silk nightgown she coulda fooled Faurto, she's been begging Faurto for some lovin. Renata sure as heck dont want him near her, so it would be win-win. Then again, if Faurto was fooled into making whoppie with her,....i can just hear Mac laffing at Faurto afterwards, she would enjoy the session, but afterwards she would "burlarse" de Faurto to the high skies. She would get a kick out of pulling that one off. Btw, add Tia Mia to the list of women who find Faurto so hot. Seriously, the writers are spreading it a little thick that Fausto is found be so irresistible by so many women. I remember Nieves, Helen's new maid, from another novella, but cant place her.

A detail to keep in mind re Lucio and Helena is that they were both there when Lucio killed Gerardo. Maybe he doesn't think so highly of her due to how her and Fausto's indiscretions led to such terrible consequences, for him and others.

But it was extremely cold-blooded to go in and eat the meal she had prepared that day, the birria.

Novella lover, I had forgotten about Fausto's jammies. The Hugh Hefner description is spot on!

Helena doesn't even remember that it was teen Lucio who was the kid who ran up to the study that day. But in any case, it sounds like she has been really nice to him all these years, and was his only shoulder to cry on when his wife left him with their son. The disrespectful way he threw her and her things out onto the streets in 15 minutes was a low down dirty way to treat anyone, much less someone who has shown him kindness over the years. An equal comparison in La Malquerida-- Rubio would have never treated Rosa that way. He always treated her with respect.

Yeah, I had to laugh at Fausto getting himself all gussied up, perfumed, coiffed, and in his best silky pjs and robe, all to go RAPE Renata. He's so thoughtful. NOT!

Thanks for the link. It seems as if Fabian Robles is going to be his usual, scruffy, criminal self ("Apuesta por un Amor?, LQNPA, etc.). I can't wait to have him and Laisha join the fun.

Also Iet's hope the writers don't make this an exact carbon copy of AMF but change it up like they did with LQLVMR.

Vivi, I loved how you stated Fausto got all gussied up to go "rape" Renata.

Right, Rubio would not allow disrespect of Rosa or Luisa.

Eli, your recap was excellent. "Valencia is a beautiful man" (he sure is, sigh) and "She might have horrible makeup but she is the brains of this operation" were a few of my favorites.

I only saw part of this and need to see "the kiss". Isn't Tia a lovely role model for Diana?!

I do have one thing in common with my namesake Diana - I am not a cook either. But of course, I never pretend to be or to take credit. She is so transparent. Helena has her number already and will certainly not be doting on her soon to be almost daughter in law.

How convenient Fausto has an excuse to send Mat away. I have to tell you that seeing him try to enter Mac's room makes my stomach churn. I wish they would abandon this storyline. The reference to Hugh Hefner was great Novella lover.

Victoria, I am eagerly awaiting Fabian. I'm sure he will be a bad character - but he does it so, so well!

Abi made a grave mistake kissing Diego like that when she clearly didn't feel it. I hope she won't make the same mistake twice. He deserves to much more.

Eli, I would love to have a taste of warm weather. Eastern MA got hit with another foot and a half of snow last night - we've had over 60 inches in the past few weeks with more due Wednesday and Saturday.

Thanks again Eli!

Diana

Thank you Eli.

If Renata doesn't want to be raped by Farto she is going to need someone sleeping with her in her room every night from now on.
Old nice hat Farto is not going to give up. Also Renata had better be sure to have someone in the house with her at all times because if old Farto can't get her at night, he will wait until she is alone in the house during the day to jump her. Farto is a dog.

So no wedding for Diana with Mateo
he is going to be away studying. More time for Diego to move in on Abi. Make your move now Diego you have been given a golden opportunity.

A lot of intrigue or maneuvering going on at least by our main characters. I can't wait for Monday---must see tv.
the gringo

Eli: Thanks for the great arun down. Gotta say that ITA re: Valencia--and that over the past couple of years the guy has shown his acting range nd is really a decent actor as well as handsome--but without being a pretty boy.

The scene right after Abi kisses Diego and she dumps him right back on his peone ass, when, with tears in his eyes, he tells Abi that he's going to get her to love him--I just wanted to slap the crap outta dear Abi. Cruel and unusual punishment! Don't care if she is one of the good guys or not.

Dear Diana...I do not know how you are dealing with all that snow.We have not had a lot of snow , but we are having high winds and low temps..teens and 20s are predicted for the coming week with a few inches of snow predicted for tonight, I.want.spring. Hang in there.

Gringo..That is good advice to Renata to have someone with her at all times.

Thanks, Eli. Fine recap.

Granted I haven't watched all the episodes, but I don't get the Fausto charm. Maybe one day they'll show a flashback of him wooing young Helena so I can see what all the fuss was about.

I wish Renata had a combo seeing eye/guard dog who'd hate Fausto and sleep at the foot of her bed.

Diana - Goodness! Hope you get some rest in dealing with all that snow.

Thanks so much susanlynn and Niecie.

Freezing but sun today and a one day reprieve from the snow which is coming again tomorrow.

I have power and for that I am grateful. This has to end soon!

Niecie, Fausto's charm has totally eluded me. I see nothing in the least bit attractive about him. At all.

Diana

Diana (and other friends further up the coast)- Please keep safe and warm! I hope you all keep your power and heat, and don't have to shovel too much snow.

Thank you Vivi. Appreciate all of the Caray, Caray support for those of us who are just plain weary of the bitter cold and endless shoveling.

Dreaming of spring!

Diana

Endless snow, predicted 100-year droughts -- who says there IS NO climate warming? ???
