Hasta El Fin Del Mundo #142 3/9/15 Did Anyone Know that Chava is Poor?
Chava tells Sofia not to fire Pato. She needs to keep him around so they can keep an eye on him.
Fausto and Iker make a date to go to the movies together. Greta's dresses are delivered by the cleaners. Iker suggests that Greta wear the black and white dress. While Fausto isn't looking, Iker puts Octavio's ring into the dress pocket.
Renzi calls Pato to tell him about Armando going to the real estate office. Pato is sure that wherever Armie is, Chava can't be far away. He tells Renzi that those two were up to something. Renzi isn't too worried since he keeps everything under lock and key.
Monday's Episode:
Chava tells Sofia that there were three names on the ownership documents in Renzi's office. He cautions Sofia to hold on to her panties: one of the names was Cipriano Fuentes! Chava is sure that Pato gave Greta that name to use as Sofia's fake father's, which indicates that Pato and Renzi are partners in slime. Manjarres is the guy who is the connection between Renzi, Pato and the sabotage at the factory, but Fuzzy Tavarres hasn't found him yet.
Sofia is disgusted at the thought of having to look at Pato's scheming face every day. She'd really like to kick his butt out the door, but Chava cautions her, "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer." Speaking of enemies, Sofia tells Chava that she forgave Greta for the whole poor, dead, alcoholic fake father thing. What's to get upset over? It was just a big honkin' 30 year lie... Chava knew his Blondie couldn't hold a grudge! They cuddle and kiss, "I love you!" "Well, I love you more!" until they are interrupted by Pato. Sofia is surprised that he's still hanging around the office. She dismisses him and goes back to kissing Chava.
Greta and Fausto talk about which dress she should wear to Peralta's dinner party. Fausto points out the dress that Iker suggested. He's got such good taste! Fausto tells her that he and Iker have lots in common and while Greta is at dinner, he and Iker are going to the movies together. They both agree that the Ripoll's are fortunate to have Iker working for them.
Greta strokes the dress; it brings back so many memories for her! "Octavio bought it for me on a trip." She feels something in the pocket. Greta removes the object and nearly jumps out of her skin when she sees Octavio's ring. She took it from Octavio when he died and it's been in a box with all his other stuff for years! Greta is totally freaked out. How could it end up in the dress pocket?
Fausto tries to calm her, "Maybe you left it there and just don't remember." Greta is certain that it is a sign from Octavio. This is what she gets for breaking the Unbreakable Vow! A visit from Octavio! The maid holding the dress nearly pees herself and makes the Sign of the Cross.
Renzi unlocks his office door, crosses the room and unlocks the cabinet. He takes out a file. All the documents are there, seemingly undisturbed. He puts the documents back and locks the cabinet again. He says to himself, "Everything is normal." then scratches his head.
Armie and Nandito arrive at the barely furnished apartment. Armie pulls food from a grocery bag and sets it next to the plastic cups and tableware. Nandito asks if Alexa is coming and talks about how much he misses Benito. Armie's phone rings but when he sees the identity of the caller he doesn't answer. When Nandito asks who it is, Armie says, "It's not important." At the other end of the line Irma growls, "You sent me to voicemail." She drops her phone on the table in anger.
The Ripolls arrive at Peralta's Evil Penthouse and get into a lively conversation with their host about art. Jeronimo has heard that Greta is famous for her metal sculptures and offers to show her the expensive paintings he has collected over the years. Alexa makes a somewhat sad attempt at showing off her expertise and tells everyone, "When the economy is good, paintings are expensive. When the economy is bad, paintings are even more expensive. Well, duh. So paintings are always a good investment."
Everyone sits down in the living room and the butler brings a bottle of wine from Peralta Vineyards. Jeronimo tells his guests that this is a special bottle from 1980 and makes a big show of swirling it in his glass and tasting it. "Excellent!"
Chava visits Javier at the hospital. Javier is excited that Marisol will be singing with the band. He just knew that singing runs in the family. Yes, and every coyote in the pack can howl. What's your point? Javier starts sniveling again. He doesn't want to die. He's sorry that he sold Chava's first car for booze money and set his racing career back a few years. Boo freakin' hoo. FF--->>
While Javier is lamenting what a poor excuse for a father he's been, Greta is bragging to Jeronimo about what a good mother she is. "Since Octavio died, the most important things in my life have been my daughters and art... and Chocolates Ripoll!" It's almost like she took an interest in where all the family dinero was coming from.
Jeronimo has heard that the factory has been having some difficulties recently. Sofia assures him that the company is getting through the problems with the help of Oliver, who is a financial genius! Jeronimo can certainly see why Oliver is so in love with Dani, but doesn't Dani carry a lot of responsibility for such a young woman? Sofia tells him that everyone at the company is working hard to regain the clients that were lost. Alexa interrupts, "We're not here to talk about business!" Peralta asks about Alexa's role in the company and Greta quickly exclaims, "The business world doesn't interest Alexa. She is like me, a creative spirit! She hasn't quite found her specialty yet."
The dinner party heads to the table and we watch the chef prepare French Onion soup.
Miguelina is concerned about Lucas' health because he isn't eating. Lucas hesitates at first, then tells her that he got a phone call from his mother. Miguelina is angry that Rosa contacted Lucas even after she told Rosa not to get near him. Miguelina didn't want to say anything either, but admits that she talked to Rosa and told her to get lost!
At Cuco's, Rosa shows Cuco the fliers she's been passing out to publicize the Wonder Bread Band. Cuco tells her to quit trying so hard. Rosa still hopes that if Lucas' band has a great night he'll be more willing to talk to her. Did I just see Benito fly around the room?
Marisol sings while she sets the table and Chava listens at the window. He compliments her voice. She's excited that she's going to sing with the band and not just as a back-up to Dani! All those voice lessons paid off! Marisol tells Chava that she wants to out-do that Ripollita because she suspects that Lucas still has feelings for her. Chava shakes his head and chides his sister, "You're jealous."
Paco tells Lupe' about his problem with Araceli. She refuses to accept the fact that Sofia is his daughter and her sister. Lupe' offers to talk to Araceli woman-to-woman. Araceli comes out of her bedroom. Paco makes the excuse that he has to check on the store. Lupe' tells Araceli to sit down. "I was as surprised as you are to find out that you and Sofia are sisters."
Araceli snorts, "HALF-sisters."
Lupe' resists the urge to smack her and continues, "This isn't Sofia's fault. You need to stop blaming her and stop being so selfish. Paco wants a chance to get to know his other daughter."
At Peralta's Evil Penthouse, the chef plates the dinner (which is neither shark nor Sea Bass with or without freakin' laser beams). I thought it looked like Cornish Game Hens (when my daughter was young she called them Gang Hens!) but these birds were too small. It must have been squab (Probably Peralta's Penthouse Pigeons that pooped on the patio) served with salad, figs and pears. Sofia compliments the chef. Dani puts in a good word for Miguelina's food. Oliver tells his dad that Miguelina works for the Ripolls now. Jeronimo is just about to spill the beans and tell everyone why he fired Miguelina when Oliver interrupts, "More wine, Greta?"
Jeronimo offers to help Sofia get Ripoll Chocolates through the current problems. If Sofia will permit him, he knows lots of people all over the world. He'd love to help Ripoll expand to other markets. Sofia accepts the offer and thanks him. Alexa compliments Jeronimo and wonders why he hasn't remarried since his divorce from Oliver's mother. Jeronimo looks straight at Sofia, "Well until now I haven't met the right woman." His stare clearly makes Sofia, Oliver and Dani very uncomfortable. Sofia gives him a tight smile.
Lupe' reminds Araceli that she dumped Chava to go off to Monterrey with someone else. Araceli weeps and whines, "I was stupid. I thought Chava would run after me." Lupe' continues, "Chava was alone and then he met Sofia. They are in love now and he's happy. So admit you lost, stop stalking my son and get over yourself, bitch." Yeah. I made up that last part. But admit it, you want to hear Lupe' say that as much as I do. Araceli cries some more about losing Chava and her papa. Lupe' tries hard but there is just no reasoning with a lunatic.
Irais, Mattias and Yovet eat another fancy meal that Irais supposedly cooked. Mattias is livin' the dream with these two. He's even wearing a shirt with a big 2 on it. He gives a kiss to the cook and to her assistant. Yovet takes Irais into the kitchen and tells her to make some kind of dessert while she keeps Mattias occupied. Mattias gets up and offers to help Irais, but Yovet pulls him into the other room to listen to music.
Iker and Fausto walk back to the car and talk about the movie. Fausto is happy that Iker is around and suggests that they go out more often. Fausto realizes he knows very little about Iker's background and asks, "Do you have any family? Any brothers?" Iker tells Fausto that his mother is dead. He's an orphan and he misses his mother very much. And now he wants to kill Dani's mother so they'll have something in common.
Irais finishes the desserts and brings them into the dining room. Yovet and Mattias are kissing on the couch. Irais watches for a moment, then grabs the dessert tray and goes back into the kitchen. She starts to cry and dumps the desserts into the garbage. Yovet leaves Mattias on the couch to look for Irais and the dessert. Irais tells Yovet that the dessert didn't work out and she threw it away. Now she has a headache and she's going to bed. Irais walks away but stops to listen and watch from the hall.
Araceli tells Lupe', "You're right about a lot of things." Lupe' asks her to think things through. Paco returns and Lupe decides it's time to go home. She says good-bye to Araceli and winks at Paco. After Lupe' leaves, Paco tells Araceli that it's important for him to get to know Sofia and that Araceli should get to know her as well. Araceli understands that Paco needs to spend time with Sofia - but she doesn't. She detests Sofia Ripoll! If Paco is going to have Sofia around, Araceli is going to go live with Irma! Paco pleads but Araceli says, "I'm sorry. I can't be around while you gets to know Sofia. I'm leaving tomorrow!"
At Peralta's Evil Penthouse, the dinner has concluded and everyone raves about the food. The dessert was a chocolate terrine made with Swiss chocolate. Sofia teases that Mexico produces wonderful chocolate as well. Jeronimo tells her that from now on his chef will only use Ripoll chocolates. Greta invites Jeronimo to come to the Ripoll house for dinner. As the women leave, Jeronimo takes Sofia's arm and reminds her that he will get in touch with his contacts to help Ripoll expand. Sofia thanks him again. He takes Sofia's hand, kisses it and smiles at her, "The pleasure is all mine." Everyone notices.
Yovet is worried that Irais saw them kissing on the couch. She confesses that the real purpose of the dinners was to get Mattias together with Irais. Mattias tells Yovet that he isn't interested in Irais as a girlfriend. "The real passion is between us. Don't you feel it?" Yovet hesitates then says, "Yes. I do." Irais muffles a sob and turns away.
Oliver asks his father what he thought about the Ripoll women. "Greta is a great woman. Alexa is very sweet. Your girlfriend Dani is enchanting. But Sofia... Sofia is stunning."
"It's clear you've liked her from the first time you met her, no?"
"Sofia Ripoll is an absolutely fascinating woman."
Oliver looks concerned, "Father, you know that Sofia is very much in love with Salvador Cruz." Peralta sits back and thinks to himself, "That nobody is not a problem for Jeronimo Peralta."
Sofia and Chava talk on the phone about the dinner. She tells him, "Oliver's dad is a very interesting man. He enjoys fine wine, art and travels all over the world." Chava asks, "Should I be jealous?"
Oliver tells his father about Salvador's good qualities, "He's poor, but he's a hard worker. He used to be her chauffer but now he works as a mechanic. He doesn't make much money. It's not like me and Dani. It's almost like a movie. Greta doesn't accept their relationship because he's poor, but Sofia doesn't care about the difference in their social classes. Even though he's poor, Salvador helps her with her problems, like the serious situation with the factory. Who knew a poor guy could figure out how to conquer the heart of a woman like Sofia? Did I mention that he's poor?"
Sofia laughs at Chava's insecurity and tells him that she is completely in love with a handsome race car driver. He wishes she was in his arms and he was kissing her. He asks if she has plans for the weekend. She reminds him that the Wonder Bread Band is performing and they can't miss it.
End of (boring) episode.

Thoughts about last night's episode:
Who will dye Javier"s hair and 'stache now he is hospitalized?
Matías with his "chicky baby" is such a buffoonish dolt. They could jettison that story line.
It will be two nuts in a shell with Aracely going to live at Irma's.
Peralta is just creepy. I hope Sofía's apparent acceptance of help from Peralta in terms of his connections was just her being polite.
Jarifa
I'm in complete agreement with you; this episode was booooring!
Looks like Paco has to make a decision because Miss Selfish won't accept Sofia. If he's smart he'll let Arecily walk. If he gives in to what Arecily wants, then he's allowing her to do the very same thing that Greta did and thats to keep him from his daughter. I think it's time for people to stop being so wishy-washy with Arecily and get in her a**. Obviously all this heart to heart isn't working and looks like some tough love will have to be distributed. However, I can't see Paco doing it.
Sofia knew Peralta was hitting on her, so I can see problems with this down the line.
Is it me or do people in TN's have no clue how to talk to thier significant other about other potential rivals. I mean paco blows it with the reveal to Arecily and Sofia is telling Chava that Peralta is basically the perfect man and something he is not. Not much tact in these things.
Peralta might just have Chava imprisoned on trumped up charges (see Rodrigo of Destilando Amor)!
Araceli moving in with Irma isn't surprising: both might go to the mental institution when all is said & done!
"Sofia is disgusted at the thought of having to look at Pato's scheming face every day. She'd really like to kick his butt out the door." (Fave.)
I want a Flavor of Love/Bad Girls Club reunion for the girls in Hasta. Irma already looks like a Latina Tiffani Pollard and Miguelina reminds me of Tanisha Thomas.
"Probably Peralta's Penthouse Pigeons that pooped on the patio"
Two best scenes; when the maid threw Greta's dress on the bed and crossed herself. Best acting job of the night. The other when Salvador was about to cry when Sofia blubbered on about Perlata, I loved it!
Lupe's chat with Araceli is the one Paco should have had but he's a bull in a china shop when it concerns Greta and now Sofia. He wants so bad to show off his new princess he's wetting his pants. I think Araceli came up with a workable compromise but should get her own place and not live with toxic Irma.
So funny, Alexa, the turd in the punchbowl.
I felt really bad for Irais, real nasty what Yovet did.
On a related note to vh1 shows, I just found out one of Tiffany Pollards love interests on her show "Real" passed away last month.
Jarifa! "It will be two nuts in a shell with Aracely going to live at Irma's." LOL this cracked me up! And Tofie! The recaps and comments are the best part of watching this TN!
The best part of the episode for me was watching everyone's faces as they realized that Peralta was hitting on Sofia. LOL!
Why did Dani and Alexa not take off their jackets. Does Peralta keep his condo chilly? I felt a bit bad for Alexa when Peralta basically got them to admit that she's the useless sister. :(
Vivi, I noticed Dani and Alexa's coats too! Jeronimo isn't much of a host if he can't even offer to have someone hang up the women's coats after they arrive. That was a really awkward dinner but Greta seemed oblivious to any of it, even insulting her own daughter!
Did I see Benito flying across the room?
He knew that singing runs in the family. Yes and every coyote in the pack can howl.
It must have been squab {Probably
Perla's penthouse pigeons that pooped on the patio.}
LOL Jarifa---two nuts in a shell.
Aracely going to Irma's.
Good point Bryan at 9:11AM
OH! that kiss on the hand that Peralta gave Sophia didn't look good for future events. I guess that I will have to stay tuned for must see tv.

Matías with his "chicky baby" is such a buffoonish dolt. They could jettison that story line.
Jarifa, ITA. I used to like Matías but this part and story is just too dumb and not in a funny way. And what’s with his haircut? No me gusta.
Don Paco, are you sure Greta is the One? She was such a fawning idiot with Peralta. One would think she hasn’t been rich all her life just like him. I’m Team Lupe all the way (except when she's ditzy with Javier).
That's right Sof fight fire with fire or in this case fight deception with deception. Glad the good ones are finally getting a shade smarter and catching onto the dirty deeds.
"Chava knew his Blondie couldn't hold a grudge!", "Yes, and every coyote in the pack can how" and "Did I just see Benito fly around the room?" were my favorites.
Some sister. Poor Irais.
