Que Te Perdone Dios #37: Aww, Let's Let Bygones Be Bygones

Crazy Connie has been brought home to Angels Ranch by Dr. Patricio to be by her daughter's side.  She sees Fausto and immediately calls him out on his attempt on her life and everyone tries convincing her that it was really "the attempt on Renata's life"--er--her "so carelessly" tripping over a chair left too near the circular stairway.  Give it up, Granny.  Nobody cares.

Abigail runs into Teodora in town and asks her what gives and where she went the other night.   Teo makes the excuse that she had to leave early to turn on the lights or some such for Mia.

At Mad Max’s auntie’s manse, the money-grubbing Ximena is eagerly making funeral plans.  Max is sickened by this and it’s good to know that he has his father’s sense of right and wrong.  He tells her not to go counting her chickens before they’re hatched.  Well, his uncle going to be a cripple and his face will probably be hideously deformed despite all the numerous surgeries.  (That should be reason enough for a divorce, right?)  Max brings up her past.  She lies and says she is an only child.

At the same time, Sweet Twin Sister is told that she's well enough she'll be getting out of the nut house in a few days.

Back at Renata’s Rancho de los Angeles, Fausto the demon is back and insulting neurologist Dr. Patricio’s surgical skills for having blown the operation with his wife’s sight.  So much for the white knight in shining armor.  He  invites Pats into his office for a little verbal sparring over Patricio’s play for his wife.  Pats says he is in love with Renata and was forward in saying so because it was so painfully obvious that Feisty didn’t love her.  Well, tough tootsie nails, replies Fausto, cuz the woman is mine till they carry me out of here feet first!  (Oh.  Well,  we can always dream, can't we.)

Back in town, Lucio stalks Teo and warns her against opening her mouth to anybody.  Luckly for Teo, Benito and Diego show up and stop the manhandling.  Teo races off and tells her gal pals, including Abi, that she cannot keep her mouth shut any longer.

The de la Cruz Sisters are now husband hunting and pay their respective respects to Mia Montenegro in hopes that “nephew” Julian will set his sights on one of them.  So is Mama-Mia.  The family can expect big bucks from bagging one of those ducks.  He, meanwhile, is giving some cousinly advice to Diana about not making the mistake of getting back together with Feisty now that she’s married to mah-h-h-h-velous Mateo.

Once Mat finishes with his rounds, Padre Tomas has a chat with him.  Viewerville learns it was his family back in Spain that Mat stayed with while studying.  How’d the family take your secretly marrying Di “por lo civil”?  “--Not well.  (That’s an understatement!)  But it was to be expected.”  Mat’s decided to practice in Ciudad de Ville and in Real San Whatever.  Padre pushes for a church wedding now between the two of them.  After all, they’re good Catholics and love each other wildly, right?  (Not from what we saw of him ogling the naked Abi at the river earlier.  –Like father like son, ya know?)

Julian arrives home and gallantly takes both of the Cougar Sisters home.  Mat leaves the office and runs into Beni and Diego having a heated discussion over his intentions to win Abi’s love and to marry her eventually.  He eavesdrops a bit, hears how she’s still in love with another man (no news to Mat) and then says hey.  Diego invites Mat to the house for a few beers and they shoot the bull for a long while, even though the family is waiting on Mat to come home to eat.  Di has a bit of a tantrum and refuses to eat with the others if Mat is not present.

A bit later, Feisty catches up and wants to know how he compares to Mat in bed.  No comparison. He was nothing more than a bit of business. She was always faking it with the old bastard.  “—Good acting.  But then, you are the niece of an actress, aren’t you.”  She wants to know the truth about how Padre Francisco died, cuz she expects he had a hand in it.  He won’t ‘fess up to anything.  His ego won’t let him leave so easily.  “—Don’t you miss those hot, passionate nights together?” ‘--No, I don’t.  Not one bit.” He tells her he doesn’t either.  He can find whores a lot cheaper than her to go out with and get just as much.  The discussion leaves Di—whose ego is just as big as his--daydreaming about reconquering Fausto and getting him back in bed again.

Fausto finds out from the ex-Mayor, Marcelino that it’s impossible to finagle with the will Bruno wrote.  He is and will remain executor only as long as he is married to Ren or until he becomes a widower.  Killing his wife will not get him that rancho.  Period.  Lucio later threatens Marc for telling his patron “NO.”  Marc suggests he knows Lucio’s always been Fausto’s hit-man.  Lucio doesn’t deny it, but says one of these days he may just find out for himself when his patron gives the word.

Comandante Barragan has finally returned home and pays Helena a visit.  He admits his romantic interest in her and that it’s part of the reason he has returned to work there again.  (Of course, the other is to track down Pablo Ramos’s killer and put him behind bars.)

That afternoon, late, Abi arrives home and Fausto makes his second real play for her by asking first for forgiveness for all the years of insults and verbal abuse.  She’s left speechless—at least until tomorrow’s episodio.

This recap is so funny! I love it!

Great recap! Mama-mia is perfecto!
I believe I heard that if Fausto became a widower or divorced he would NOT inherit Ren's property. The ONLY way was through a child who would become heir. Thats whay I understood, but I now I wonder why Faurto tried to kill her when she lost her sight and again with the chair.

I'm hoping Renata gets her sight back soon!

Thank you Jardinera! I can't view most Weds nights, and your recaps are detailed and so entertaining. I love your style, and knowing the characters it's easy to imagine the scenes based on what you say.

So Teodora will talk, I hope? I really hope so, because I hate how the victim ends up covering up and enabling the wrongdoer's deeds. That's not the reason the victim does it, but it's an unfortunate byproduct of not telling.

"Give it up, Granny. Nobody cares." Amen.

Also, "it’s good to know that he has his father’s sense of right and wrong" Yes, how reassuring!

So Julio/Julian is truly interested in bagging one of the sisters? Getting a rich wife is really the plan? My husband says talk about being between a rock and a hard place with those two!

Will Ximena's disfigured and wheelchair-bound hubby have a larger role at some point? Or will he just remain the man in the bandages and pass away shortly?

I'll tune in tonight.

Good point Novella lover. I too forget what the "reasoning" was behind that attempt on Renata. He would have lost everything.

My bet is that Xi"s bud will be hospital bound for some time but when he gets to his full strenght expect Xi to meet her maker. I think i was quite spot on when i called him " Joker On Wheels" !

Hate hate hate Connie ,someone sod her off already profavor! Lucifer is so disgusting but i like the potrayal of Avila ,i havent seem him that nasty but i guess he played nastier roles than that too bad i didnt watch any of his villian roles !

Jardinera- Stellar recap as always!

I'm behind on watching, so I've not yet seen this episode. I can't believe that any one who has spent time with Fausto believes his lies. I'm getting pretty tired of padre come lately trying to tell Ren what she should do. She just needs to tell him the whole dirty truth, rapes and all, so he can get off her back.

Jardinera,
Thanks for the fun recap. Well written and great description.

Vivi,
ITA, Ren needs to tell the Padre everything about Fausto, including the affairs, especially the affair with Macaria.

In regard to the epi before this one. Why didn't Mateo make his presence known to Abi at the river? I was expecting him to jump in the water. Of course that might not sit well with Dianaconda. But who cares? She's his uncle's ex-soon to be on-again lover. Or as Abi and Fausto called her, a prostitute.

BTW, I really loath Lucio, and the actor portraying him is doing an excellent job.

Thank you Jardinera. You're a big help. With great recaps like yours, the enjoyable story becomes even more so.

I thought that Dora told Abi and the other lady about Lucio but after reading the recap, I guess that will come tonight. Everyone in town should know about Lucio and his spoiled rich son Max isn't much better.

For the life of me, I don't understand why Abi and Ren isn't living in Abi's great ranch house and away from Devil Dog Fausto---
let him eat his meals alone.

Who is living in Abi's beautiful house anyway? It seems like everyone is in Ren's house or is it Fausto's?

I guess that I am the only one that doesn't mind Connie. Actually I think that the actress who is playing crazy {maybe not so crazy} Connie is doing a good job. If she is crazy, being around Fausto sure doesn't help.

must see tv tonight.

Jardinera, this was simply great. Loved the title.

I enjoy your sense of humor evidenced by such wonderful lines as "Well, tough tootsie nails, replies Fausto, cuz the woman is mine till they carry me out of here feet first! (Oh. Well, we can always dream, can't we.)". HA!

I hope Teo does tell. My heart goes out to her.

Marc does not seem at all intimidated by Lucio (IMO). Marc treats him without respect and as the worm he is.

Diana
