Amores con trampa #3 1 Apr 2015 Animal House Party!! poor Petunia!!
Santiago tries to convince Facundo to invest in the builder company. Santiago’s company builds condo buildings.
Isa meets Margarito… then Porfirio almost hand-feeds her a boiled egg… gets flirty with her. Perpetua nags him.
Perpetua tells Isa that in their hometown they called him ‘el mil amores’ and ‘el todas mias’ (all women are mine)
They give isa some warm drink… jumirichi (I think it had a worm in the glass because she had something in her mouth when she spit on Perpetua.
Isa falls in the pool, Facundo jumps after her.
Lo Nuevo:
Santiago feels embarrassed. Isa gets a bit of a wardrobe malfunction… she runs back to her house with a hand on butt.
Back in their bedroom, Isa nags at Santiago for forcing her to go there with him. Why are you so interested in being friends with them?... She keeps whining and demanding he tell her what is going on. Insists… insists… you can’t handle the truth!!! You really want the truth?? Here it goes… the company is totally bankrupt. We are going to loose everything. The house, the company.. everything!! … that is why I need to get close to those rancheros. The govt paid them $10 Mill for their lands. If we can convince them to invest in our business, we can survive. He has tried all other avenues. No one will lend him a peso. ‘either the corn planting farmers… or the streets.’ Isa is in disbelief. Why me!??
As soon as we have their money they will have to leave penniless… He promises Isa that it will be as he says. He cuddles her in his arms.
Facundo gets a bit tlc from his wife and family. Maria comments that the neighbors are a bit misbehaved. Facundo mentions that the husband is not as strict/firm as he should be. Facundo will go to his business tomorrow and will talk with him. Facundo announces to his family that he is about to become an entrepreneur. They all congratulate him.
At Santiago’s office, Santiago is showing Facundo some videos. Serves him a whole lot of BS of visualizing Facundo and Maria playing tennis, on the Jacuzzi, with the family and the farm animals all around them… and will do good for the community… success!!! Santiago presents Esteban to Facundo. Facundo squeezes Esteban’s hand. Esteban plays his part telling Santiago in front of Facundo that someone just bought a condo from them cash. Santiago milks the lie for all its worth. Facundo asks how much should I invest. Santiago says not much… just some… 50 Million pesos (ballpark is about half of what Facundo has). Facundo impactado at the amount.
Santiago gets back home. She whines that all her credit cards were denied, she had to write a check. He says that check will bounce too. Told you not to spend money. She whines he will have to fix their financial issues ASAP. The boutique is her life!! How did it go with the Ranchero?? Santiago tells he Facundo wants to think about it and get to know them better before he commits. Santiago has arranged for them two to go to dinner at a fancy restaurant with Facundo and his wife.
Facundo is telling Maria the same, about the plan for dinner. Maria is a bit uncertain. She does not get a good vibe from the neighbors. Says Isabel can’t stand them. Facundo wants her to get dressed nice.
Rocio comes to visit again. Beto is with his horse. Porfirio is watching the scene very entertained. Rocio suggests to Beto to get together tonight since our parents are going out together. Us two and Diego. (that last guest name dropped a couple notches in Beto’s excitement about the plan).
At dinner time, Isa and Santiago are getting impatient waiting for the Carmonas. Finally they arrive. Cowboy outfits and all. Isa is horrified. The women look at each other very suspiciously. The men are much more excited about it. Facundo asks for Aguardiente… then pulls out a whole stack of money, he is volunteering to pay. Isa and Santiago’s eyes pop out.
Grandma Perpetua is not ok with Beto having a party at home while their parents are gone… suddenly some friends of Rocio and Felipe arrive… Felipe presents them Francisca, his gf. Yeya is not happy but shakes her hand. Alejandra also brings a bf… he is Diego’s younger bro. Diego came too. Oh by the way, Diego invited some friends of his that are coming any moment now. This miffs out even Rocio who did not know Diego invited anyone else. Suddenly there are several cars full of young ones… all of them brought alcoholic drinks with them. Perpetua and Porfirio protest but they can’t control the crowd. Porfirio says the eggs won’t be enough for everyone. He wants them all to leave. The eggs are enough for the girls, though. He only wants the guys to leave.
Back to the restaurant. Facundo wants to do a toast. He toasts to the women… Maria tries to get him to sit down quietly. Facundo thinks she is jealous so he plants a SMOOCH on her right there and then. Isa looks away. LOL!
Facundo can’t figure out what is the food they just got served. Medallones of some kind… Facundo protests that it doesn’t even taste like beef. Isa says it is French food. And they have to ENJOY it with the silverware. Isa is embarrassed since they know the people at the next table (Martis?)
Back to the out of control party. Horses running around… young ones petting the animals… Poor Perpetua is trying to get them away from the cow but to no avail. Yoya also tries to help Perpetua to get them off Petunia… Diego bumps Beto’s hat, which he did not like. Rocio nags at Diego. Jacinto break dances on the grass (oh boy Maria will enjoy having to deal with those stains). A couple puts a mexican hat on Petunia while Diego or another guy open all the corrals and fences so all the animals are loose. Beto yells at him. It is total chaos there… the chaos extends to the pool, all the by now drunk young folks are jumping into the pool. Beto is miffed at how the young people are treating the animals. Beto insults Diego saying Rocio deserves a better guy. They start fighting. Porfirio has to come break it off. He wants to know what ‘ideals’ they are fighting for. There should be no cheating in a fight! (LOL!!)
Back to restaurant. Facundo is saying that back home things are nice and calm.. right?...
Back to the chaos… Porfirio gets miffed that the young ones are dragging Petunia around. Beto and Diego get back to fighting. Now it is Felipe who tries to stop the fight. And Grandma Perpetua pulls out the shotgun and shoots up in the air. Porfirio starts yelling some nonsense.
Santiago and Isabel arrive back in their car, she is about to have a stroke saying they were so embarrassed. Santiago can only remember that they had a good time and ‘they’ paid the bill. Suddenly they get attacked by chickens right through the car windows.
Facundo and Maria arrive home to the chaos. They run into the young couple who are giving Petunia a hard time. Facundo is trying to get the Mexican hat off Petunia when he hears the shotgun that Perpetua is still shooting.
Facundo and Maria arrive to the center of the backyard and start yelling at the young people, you all will help gather all the animals who are loose around the neighborhood. Santiago backs him up to Isa’s protests. Santiago even yells at Diego to help out. Diego says heck no, I won’t go! Some of the young folks offer to help. Facundo tells Beto he will have to explain later. Rocio says it was her fault. Maria inside the house questions Perpetua. Perpetua says it was the neighbors from over there. She tells Maria that she will have to do something with Beto, before this all ends really bad.
Alejandra is carrying the turkey but is whining that it is scaring her. Susana is smitten with a young man who is over there. (not Diego’s younger brother, another guy).
Diego brings the cow back. Beto nags at him. Diego tells Rocio they are leaving. She walks over to Beto and says she is staying. Diego gets angry and asks Rocio in front of Beto if she likes the ‘rancherito este’. She denies it in front of Beto. But she looks like she is not sure of what is going on with her.
Yoya and Felipe laugh together dragging around the sheep.
Jacinto has two of his bunnies in his arms. Says there’s only one missing. In spite of this Beto yells at Facundo that all the animals are accounted for.
Of course that is not true. One of the bunnies has made it to Isa’s bedroom. Happens to be the black bunny Jacinto mentioned. Conchita takes the bunny away while Isa yells freaked out and Santiago is laughing his head off.
The whole backyard and pool are a mess… Facundo won’t let Beto go rest until he has cleaned up this pigsty. He blames him… when I am not home, you are the man! And since the party was your ‘time’ you will clean it all up!! Perpetua also nags at Beto that this will be last time he disobeys her. Beto stays there cleaning.
Porfirio has fallen asleep in a chair outside. Facundo wakes him up. Is the party over? The fair lasted too little!
Santiago yells at Felipe and the others about how could they think of having a party at the neighbors. Felipe asks the same as Isa… why the interest in making friends with the neighbors. Rocio asks the same. Isa does not want Santiago to involve them in this… Rocio smartly asks if something is wrong with the business. Isa denies denies. Santiago tells them that as a matter of punishment, they won’t have their monthly allowance.
Rocio wants to protest but Santiago and Isa won’t let her. Once the kids are gone Isa tells him he is a jerk. He asks if she prefers that he tell them what is going on or let them think the no allowance is their punishment.
Early next morning Rocio comes over to apologize to Beto. HE is a bit sharp with her. She asks him if he knows that her uncle wants to do business with his dad. Doesn’t that sound strange? Suddenly Maria is coming. Beto asks Rocio to hide. She hides by the cow. Maria tells Beto that she is not mad at him, she is mad at the little goat girl at the neighbors. Maria speaks badly of Rocio… Rocio hears it all. Maria walks away. Beto signals to Rocio that she can go now.
Facundo and Maria are about ot leave the young kids at the school. Alejandra and the boy who seemed to like Susana are also going to the same school. He is about Alejandra’s age.
At the college, Yoya is a bit embarrassed that her parents came to drop her off. She wants to go in all by herself. Facundo asks her if she is ashamed of them. Yoya says no, not that. Never. Maria gives her her blessing. She walks in, Facundo and Maria are a bit sad.
Santiago at home is miffed that he just had to pay for her organic chicken (glutten free). Isa is doing puchero (pout face). Santiago reminds her they have to make friends with the neighbors. He says she can take Maria to the boutique and buy her something. Isa protests. Santiago asks her ‘when was the last time you sold something and heard the ‘ca-ching!’ of your register? Isa finally gives in. She will take her.
Isa is welcoming Maria to her boutique. Maria says ‘the changarro is cute!’ Isa sends Maria to walk around the store while she and an employee discuss about a vendor who has not got paid yet. Maria is interested in a chal (knit cover-all). Isa tells her it costs 7000 pesos. Maria protests that she could knit one for much less. Isa says a friend of hers designed it. All in all Maria will go ahead and buy it. Isa thinks that Santiago is right that they can get lots of money from these mensos.
Previews: To Isa’s dismay, Santiago orders to seduce the neighbor. Later Facundo offers Isa a ride… Maria is upset. Later Facundo tells Maria he has a business meeting with Santiago tomorrow. Maria again is not happy to hear it.

This series seems to go down the road of many comedies of its kind, to prove that campesinos are the salt of the earth while city people are superficial, mean, and greedy.
Not to mention incredibly stupid about animals. For someone to see a bunny and mistake it for a rat?
I would have kicked Rocio's "friends" into next week over their trashing the place and frightening the animals. These are sociopaths.
Yesterday we found out Facundo's nickname for Susana is "Gusana" and we find out today his nickname for little Jacinto is "Pulga" (flea).
When the kids invaded the Carmona property, grandpappy Ignacio was up to his "usual" saying he didn't have enough eggs for everyone but did have enough for the pretty girls.
Lots of laughs in this one from the Carmonas at the restaurant to Isabela terrified of the "rat."
Looks like Felipe and Carmen are interested in each other, too, besides Beto and Rocío.
Ready to laugh some more mañana.
Jarifa
I like that they've made the kids likable. At least for me. I really like Susana Gusana.
I was super impressed with Itati. She was jumping around on that mattress is those sky-high heels and didn't fall or break both her ankles.
Big Ed broke my heart with the sad dad face at the end.
Jarifa-I'm looking forward to tonight too. I can see your preference for comedies now. There are some things that I can see would rub people the wrong way (like Facundo's line about managing women with a mano dura), but I think that's going to make it funnier when he turns into a bowl of jelly... Either with Itati or when his love for Maria reignites.
Like Diana said yesterday... There is just something about this show that is comfy and cozy.
"Animal House Party" indeed! And I echo your "poor Petunia". I enjoyed your vocabulary immensely. My favorite lines were the way you stated the obvious with sincere simplicity "Isa is in disbelief. Why me!??" and "Isa falls in the pool, Facundo jumps after her".
I'm sure the animals were confused and likely scared by what they went though. I'm with Urban in that those kids deserved an earful (and more) for what they did to the animals. The party was disconcerting. Thankfully, all were accounted for and hopefully, all were able to rest peacefully after.
Ignacio is becoming my favorite (sorry Eduardo), one of the reasons being the scene you mentioned Jarifa. But, I loved the scene that Facundo had with Eduardo, where he knelt down to speak with his father. Facundo/Ed had such a genuine smile and affection on his face, my heart melted. He is so charismatic, especially when he seems to be himself without any trace of acting.
Sara, I was also impressed with Itati! How she managed to walk, let alone bounce on the bed like a trampoline is beyond me..
At the restaurant, when Facundo grabbed and kissed Maria, Maria/Africa started laughing and I got the feeling it wasn't part of the script. It looked like she had a hard time stopping (although Facundo didn't miss a beat). I hope the actors are having as much fun as we are.
And, I don't hate either Santiago or Isa. Yet! It's a relief just to have scheming, greedy villains without evil and murder in the mix.
Diana
I hate to say it, but I've seen many a youth chasing and terrorizing the ducks in my nearby park. The saddest part is their parents standby and watch and say nothing.
UA- I'm with you. I don't find it funny when someone doesn't know a rat from a bunny. Those are always stupid sort of jokes.
Loved the Eduardo/Ignacio scene. It was so genuine. Thanks for reminding me Diana.
Jarifa
Agreed. I'm still amazed I've made it through 3 episodes of a comedy. That's really not like me.
It is nice to have something lighter to offset the happenings on La sombra and Quiero amarte. Someone else said that this week...I just can't remember who.
Yikes..rave at the Carmonas' . Rocio's novio is a spoiled rich boy. I was hoping that he would at least get stepped on by the horse of cow.
I am especially loving Ernesto. He is the happiest villain I've ever seen. He seems downright giddy in his quest to bambozzle Facundo and get his hands on that money. His face lights up , and his eyes sparkle as he spins his web. I like Big Ed and Ernesto together.
I am confused. The Carmonas could not possibly have gotten ten million dollars for their farm. Was it pesos ? How much land did they have ?
Jarifa
Jarifa
"Bamboozle" is such a GREAT word for this show.
Also giggling at "Ernesto-the happiest villain I've ever seen.."
Jarifa-No, it's not very busy this morning. We might be the only ones left standing after this first week.
I wasn't particularly amused by the ghastly flashmob that Diego conjured up (to be fair, most of it wasn't supposed to be amusing, I guess), and I thought it went on much too long.
I did chuckle at the restaurant scene. Facundo seemed large and in charge there.
I liked the way the little kids were welcomed into their new school. Thank goodness for uniforms, huh?
At the college, a couple of kids were mocking Yoya for her affectionate goodbyes to her parents. Fortunately, she didn't notice. Let's hope Felipe takes her under his wing.
I thought it was high praise indeed when Susana told Diego's little bro that he was very hábil capturing the chickens.
Denise-I like the "caterpillar" nickname. Will Susana become a butterfly?
I am sticking with this show because I love so many of the actors, and it is on right after Sombra. Also, it is light, and I can always use a little lightheartedness.
P.s. I do not want anyone to start calling me ''caterpillar.''
I enjoy the light feel of this, too. I'm really excited that most of Hub's shows are reruns next week so I will be able to watch the episodes in real time (no DVR conflicts.)
Variopinta-thanks for the reminder. That would be a lot of land.
And the gov't guys did say they were going to build a big highway and an oil refinery too.
Pepe- Nice to meet you! I'm glad you're enjoying it. Hope you'll join the conversation!
Thanks to Sara, NovelaMaven, and Marta
for the much appreciated recaps. I think I'll be hanging around for this novela. It's really not as corny as I thought it would be, and then there's Big Ed.
GinCA
I'm glad you'll be hanging around.
Oh and thanks for mentioning that Rocio thought it odd that her uncle wanted to do business with Facundo. I don't think Facundo is a dumb bunny either, but with someone else thinking something is up, maybe Santiago won't succeed in taking his money.
Steve-I don't know who Greta 2.0 is.
I can't even BEGIN to find the words to show my gratitude to NovelaMaven and Marta for all the work they put into this this week.
Love the animales, a big selling point for me. How could you not like a cow, a goat, a pig, rabbits, chickens?
We have peacocks nearby & they have come to our yard. Noisy things, but I love to hear them, in the distance when I go out for my newspaper. I do NOT live in a rural area, far from it. Also guinea hens, muscovies, one mallard, and many migrating birds, as well as the permanent residents, like parrots. I love my wildlife. Watched an osprey grab a fish & fly off with it in his talons. Today a manatee + we have a small alligator, which I haven't seen yet. Many iguanas hang out by the pool.
And that is in addition to all the domisticated creatures.
Both Santiago and Isabel refer to Maria as ‘la guarachuda’
Maria: El changarro is cute! (referring to Isa’s boutique locale)
So Yoya’s real name is Carmen.
Beto: sera mejor que se vaya, si no… le voy a dejar la cara mas machucada que un venado en carretera!
(LOL!!) you better go now… otherwise I will smash your face worse than a deer on a highway!
OMG that Francisca is a B with capital BEE.
Maria: Es por esa cabra de enfrente, verdad? Facundo: Ya no seas malas pulgas, Maria!
(its because of that goat next door, right? … Don’t be a bad-ass flea, Maria!! (don’t stir up the pot more)
Francisca: You tripped on my foot! (yeah, right!)
Whoa! Susana the tough girl!!
So Francisca gives Carmen a hard time and drives her right into Francisca’s own bf Felipe!! ‘la vida te da sorpresas!’
So they called Facundo and Susana from the elementary school on day 1 (for Susana pushing that boy)!! That must be a record!!
So Maria won’t allow BULLYING to her son!! And calls the boys who did it ‘cabritos’ (goats)
Porfirio and his boiled eggs at all times! LOL! (and calling the women ‘mango petacon’)
Perpetua: No tiene llenadera!! (as saying ‘you are a bottomless barrel!!’)
OMG Facundo giving money to his family as if it were handful of peanuts!! To spend at the Mal!! Errr. Mall! …Err Mole!
Fac: Ora pues!! ‘Todos a la compradera!!’
Perpetua at massage chairs: Esta temblando!! Se esta muriendo!! (it is shaking!! … it is dying!!)
Susanita buying little toddler boy clothes for her cerdito Margarito!!
Beto riding the carousell benches with different girls!! LOL!
(what is Liverpool?? Never heard about that store.)
Mañana Nos traen el Interne-te-te!!
Rocio the honest straight ugly duckling. Whoa! Her dad was also a swindler?? Must run in the family!
Este: ‘el cuerpo te pasa factura’ (the body as it gets older ‘passes you the bill’)
OMG!!! Susana is trying to bring Margarito into the school!! LOL!!
Jac: UD sabe porque el hijo del tamal no vino a la escuela? Porque esta mailto!
There’s something really STRAIGHT UP about the Carmona women I am lovin’!!
I appreciate all that you've done this week. I am going to email blogmom this weekend about getting the show on the sidebar.
