Que Te Perdone Dios Capitulo 58 Full Recap by TN4Ever

Refried: Mat eavesdrops on Diego’s proposal to Abigail. Why is he so distraught? After all, he has to make it work with Diana, so he really needs to start letting go of Abi.

New: Well, Macaria’s yucky, downturned mouth is not new. She is crying in the forest, and has a flashback of her younger self with Fausto. He is seducing her with pretty words and false promises, it looks like right in the same spot where she is there remembering 25+ years later. In the flashback, she gives it the old college try to get a promise of marriage before going too far, and he does promise that he will marry the woman he loves, social class doesn’t matter. He’s technically saying the truth, but Macaria doesn’t realize that he is NOT talking about her. She says her mama warned her that men like him won’t buy the cow once they get the milk for free. Will he promise her he’s not like that? No, he won’t promise that – he will swear that. Poor Mac, this scene gives good insight into what she is always telling Abi about men, which apparently is the same thing her mom told her. Mac doesn’t earn many points while parenting, but she does seem sincere in wanting Abi to avoid her mistakes with men. One final thought: very good physical casting with both Macarias. They resemble each other and are age appropriate.

About now Benito drives up in a pick up truck and sees his Mac crying at the base of a tree. He immediately pulls over, leaps out and goes to comfort her. She continues to ugly cry, making it worse by also speaking. She says they had a good thing together, but he’s too good for her, deserves better (which it true). But he says it only ended because she wanted it to, and he had the momentos mas hermosos de su vida with her. Now that is a sad life if that is true. He invites her to dinner and a movie to make her feel better, which she accepts. She would like to run away and start somewhere else with a clean slate. He is up for that. She calls him her Diego, meaning he is a good guy who genuinely cares for her, but he can’t know what she means by that. Nonetheless, he takes it in stride. In this scene, it’s really hard to tell if Mac is sincere, or if she’s pulling a Fausto. They make their way back to the truck, where Macaria observes the large envelope of cash sitting in the seat. Ben says it’s the payment for the Enramada mortgage, and he needs to stop by the bank before they have their date night. Sure, that’s fine, seeing huge amounts of cash doesn’t have any effect on Mac whatsoever. Cue disaster riding up in the form of Lucio, who sees them kissing. Scruffy Lucio close up. I confess, I like these shots of him!

Julio sits at home and flashes back the entire conversation he had with Toño yesterday. Diana comes in and he congratulates her on the success of her plans, effectively trapping Mateo with the pregnancy. But he says, “You’re not the maternal type.” “Well, neither was Mia, but she had you.” Touché! They talk about the benefit of having the mother-in-law-bamboozled and on Di’s side. Then Diana reveals to Julio that the baby is really Fausto’s. They cackle about that.

At the house of spinsters, both sisters thought bubble at each other regarding their respective relationships with Julian and the other’s ignorance of it. Will it bother Epifenia the day she finds out that she has been with both father and son? Their maid Juanita enters with a letter from Motor, asking his love Eduviges to meet him later that evening. He still loves her, doesn’t want to lose her and is capable of committing locuras if she doesn’t show. Epi rips the letter out of her hand and shouts, “Look at the problems your sins have caused!” But both sisters know they have both done the same thing, so where does she get off?

Back to the Mac disaster, Lucio and Benito start fighting, and Benito shouts to Mac to run away, just go. She takes off, but then can’t resist making a pit stop to steal that money out of the truck. Any sympathy generated by her sad flashback and crappy life evaporates, as we remember that her life is the result of the selfish choices she has made over the years, well past the time she was an innocent maid(en). Meanwhile, the writers try to bolster Benito’s image by showing a fight where he gives as good as he gets with Lucio (even doing an impressive back roll up into a hand stand), versus summarily getting his rear end kicked, which seems more likely to me in this particular match up. But alas, in the end Lucio wins by hitting him with a rock to the head and leaves Benito tirado en el camino.

Julio and Diana continue their lovely visit, with the conversation shifting to Julio making fun of Diana for having so much trouble with a criada (Abi). “You can’t win your man away from her, and you’re even jealous of a servant!” he chides. He gives her some decent advice to achieve her ends, which is to fight for her marido, and re-conquistarlo. Yeah, basically go back to what worked for landing him in the first place, which was to not show your true colors. Well, that’s not enough for Di. She wants to destroy Abi, hacerla pedazos. “OK, you can count on me,” says Julio, “I have a battle plan. Just do as I say.” More evil grins all around.

Benito stirs, staggers to his truck, and sees that the moulah is gone. Spittle flies out of he mouth as he exclaims this, which was a little gross.

Mac, having run all the way back home, is counting the money and promising herself that this time she will hide it well. I rest my case about her attractiveness, because in this scene she is smiling and not making crazy bug eyes, and she looks pretty.

Fausto and Renata make their first appearance of the evening, in Ren’s bedroom. He invites her for a walk and lays a hand on her, and she says, “Don’t touch me!” He starts up with his smooth-talking about the second chance, the changes, living as husband and wife, blah, blah, blah, and Renata lays it out pretty darn well by clarifying, “I will forgive you as a person, but not as a wife. I have never loved you and will not have relations with you. Voluntarily.” Fausto’s mask never slips and he acts like everything is okay.

At the hospital, we are treated to a saccharine scene of Diego and Mateo fawning over Domingo the Kid, who is feeling better after his appendectomy. Why is he the only person with moreno skin in this whole town? In Mexico? Outside the room, Diego takes the opportunity to inform Mat that Abi said yes to his proposal of marriage. Mateo gives a heartfelt, “Felicidades,” as he flees the scene.

In the hospital chapel, Max catches up to Abi. She didn’t know he was back, and he explained that he had to help iron out some problems between his dad and Don Fausto. “Don’t mention your dad to me, please.” “You really can’t stand him, can you?” Max remembers that Abi said his dad hurt somebody she cares about, and he erroneously concludes that it was Mac. He proceeds to insult Mac. They both agree that their parents are pretty much the scum of the earth. But Max says, “Let’s not let what they are interfere with us.” Abi wastes no time in letting him know, again, there is no us, and what’s more she is engaged to be married to Diego. She just wants to be friends. Max is not happy.

In Meliton’s shack, he is helping Crazy Connie get her groove back. By giving her an herbal remedy. She says it tastes pretty good, and he says the memories it brings back will be bitter. He dismisses her until tomorrow and asks if Benito will be taking her home. No, he was a no-show for the ride over and she has another driver. Benito is so important to her. “Why,” asks Mel. “I don’t know, I can’t remember, but I can feel it,” or something like that. It seems like a foreshadowing of an unexpected relationship, like he is Diego’s father, Fausto’s son, Diana’s baby, or all of the above. Meliton hopes nothing has happened to Benito. Sorry, Mel.

Max is with dear old dad now, and makes another request for a killing. He wants Diego dead. Lucio balks, saying you can’t keep asking me to kill people for you. You’ve got to learn to do it yourself (not really). This is Lucio’s parenting at its best, when he really tries to teach Max that killing should only be used as a last resort, because it does tend to haunt you. He doesn’t want that for Max. Max complains that it’s not fair that Lucio kills for Fausto, but not for him. Lucio is firm but loving in saying no. Then Benito busts in, raring to go another round with Lucio, and accusing him of being a ratero (thief).

At the Hacienda, there is an awkward cena in progress. Fausto is in benevolent paterfamilias mode and declares how nice it is that the whole family is present. But Abi, Diana and Mat just stare uncomfortably at each other. Even Mac and her mom Amanda who are waiting on the family look uneasy. Ren, well. Then Connie makes an entrance, saying the family isn’t complete without her. She already seems much improved, and imperiously orders Macaria to get her chair. Fausto welcomes her, and Abi thanks him for being nice to Connie and for saying that she (Abi) is part of the family. Connie assures Fausto that she will not be stabbing him with a fork, and he appreciates her sense of humor.

Lucio and Benito continue to go at it until mercifully, Max shoots the ceiling and calls them to order. Ben keeps accusing Lucio of stealing the money that was to pay the mortgage on the Enramada, and Lucio keeps denying it. To shut them up, Max says he will cover the loss. Benito should have jumped all over that, but he didn’t. Then Lucio says the only one stealing anything is Benito, who is stealing Lucio’s woman. The boys start up again, with each claiming Mac as his own, and finally Lucio pushes Ben out the door. Max asks if Lucio indeed did take the money, and Lucio says if he did, then Benito would be dead, because Lucio doesn’t leave cabos sueltos. Lucio, you need to be consistent in your message about killing or Max is going to get confused.

Back at the big house, Connie heard and identified the sound of the gunfire. Fausto dispatches a peon to look into it, but in the meantime they should not worry. He would like to take this opportunity to give Diana a gift from himself and from Renata, for the child that she is going to bear Mateo. He gives her the necklace, and Mac makes a snide comment that Fausto usually isn’t so generous. He completely turns the tables on her, by asking Diana if Macaria has been waiting on her as Fausto ordered? Diana says no, she hasn’t. What? Why not? Macaria says that she is sure Diana wouldn’t want her to desatender her other duties, to which Connie pipes up with, “Nunca haces nada (you never do anything).” Mac thinks she will find an ally in Renata and says she will do whatever the lady of the house deems most prudent. Ren says, “I support Fausto and you should do whatever he says.” It’s awesome to see Mac get this comeuppance! She is as yet clueless that things have changed with Ren, and she just got herself burned big time. At the same time, a small part of me feels a wee bit sorry for her. OK, I’m over it now.

Now that the fighting and gunfire have subsided, Lucio and Max turn to speculating about the lost payment. This could be their big chance to get the Enramada. If the payment isn’t made, the property goes into default, and they can scoop it up. Max can get money from his uncle for the purchase. What’s more, Abi won’t forgive Diego for such a mega screw up, and Max can swoop in there, as well. It’s a win-win-(Lucio, Max)-lose-lose (Abi, Diego) situation. At this time, Lucio would like to offer relationship guidance, and asks what Max really feels for Abi. Would he marry her? Yes! That’s good, because she is sure to inherit the Hacienda, too.

At the dinner of awkwardness, Diana starts to mac on Mateo in front of everybody (mac, not Mac, which would have been way worse). Abi interrupts by tapping on the side of her water glass for an announcement. She and Diego are to be married. Mat looks pained.

Motor has set up a lovely candle-lit dinner table surrounded by car parts in the mechanic shop, that is sure to charm Eduviges. But it is Juanita who shows up, telling him that Edu won’t come now, or ever, and that he needs forget about her. He smashes up the table and bursts into tears. Juanita once again is very comforting.

Meanwhile, Eduviges is making out with Julian on her couch. Sis is conveniently out, would he like to hit the bedroom? Julio says he respects Edu and can wait for marriage. Well, she can’t, and they need to get busy, now! He keeps demurring, telling her to imagine their wedding, her in a white dress, etc. She says, “Are you sure you want to wait? Because your kisses say otherwise.” He’s like, “You’re right, I better just leave,” and he fairly flees the place, to Edu’s frustration. I was questioning why he did this, as I assumed he would play both sisters indiscriminately.

Cut to Epifenia with Toño. So that’s why she’s not at home. Toño is making the most of the fact that his mom is unjustly incarcerated. They are in Toño’s bedroom, and poor Freddy’s bed is still right there. It doesn’t seem right. But Epi actually does something decent by offering money to help Simona if needed. Toño mentions they have a patron saint who has offered to help, but Epi reiterates that she is there if needed.

Fausto has made his way to the cantina, where he is thinking slimy thoughts to himself about Abi. He won’t let Diego have her before he does. So sick.

And now Epifenia arrives at Julian’s house. So much for decency. But I think this explains Julian’s earlier reticence with Edu. Without Viagra, he probably couldn’t wage war on multiple fronts, and he had the date with Epi pending. What charming relationships in this love pentagon.

Later at night, Connie starts to remember things. She flashes back to her husband Bruno being cruel to their daughter Renata when learning of the pregnancy. Iran Castillo (young Ren) runs out of the room, just like a 38-year-old teenager would. Then Connie, still in the flashback, tells Bruno he won’t have to worry anymore, because Pablo is alive and well (i.e. he didn’t die when Bruno burned his house down) and Ren is going to run away with him. Then Connie, awake in the present, realizes it was she who caused a great deal of problems for her daughter with that bit of indiscretion. Mel said that this wouldn’t be pleasant, there’d be days like this, Mel said.

In a nearby bedroom, Ren awakes, sensing that Abi is in danger.

Efectivamente, Fausto has entered Abi’s room as she sleeps, and leans over her on the bed. He moves his face toward hers, and the scene ends.

The recap has been glued to the page , thank you TN4Ever! I already asked Jane for acces and gave her your email .I will have to ask her again on the progress or you could do it as wel , her email is : jane@mappamundi.com

Another great recap, TN!

**Best line: "Lucio’s parenting at its best, when he really tries to teach Max that killing should only be used as a last resort" LOL, RFLOL!

as we remember that her life is the result of the selfish choices she has made over the years --ITA! Can't expect more.

"even doing an impressive back roll up into a hand stand" (that WAS a real WTF moment!)

“I have a battle plan. Just do as I say.” --Di is way to selfish and impulsive to follow anybody else's strategy. She plays too close to the edge and loves it that way. Julio is a more strategic thinker, con artists that they are....

"Fausto’s mask never slips" and gawddddd how I wish it would!!

My thoughts as he entered Abi's bedroom: Will he or won't he keep his hat and boots on? He chucked the hat but now those damned boots have got to pinch!

Lucio's a HORRIBLE father & person.

Enough said!

Abi will wake up and scream, and hopefully, knee him to put Faust out of commission - hopefully forever!

I have a feeling Fausto will surprise us with some kind of manipulative move. The only way he could get Abi at this point is by force, and he'd have to kill her to keep it quiet. He's feeling the pressure since she's engaged, but he still has a lot of self interest and isn't dumb. We'll see tonight.

Jardinera, thanks for the words, and good analysis of Di.

TN4ever: You hit it out of the park with this recap. It was excellent.

"She continues to ugly cry, making it worse by also speaking","dinner of awkwardness" and "What charming relationships in this love pentagon" were among my many favorites.

Benito continues to make terrible choices and is letting his feelings from the oh so not worth it Macara rule his head. How can it not occur to him that he stole the money???

I loved Connie tonight. Bothered and bewitched and just plain awesome. Loved her toying with Fausto and Macaria and hope there is much more to come.

I do not like Diego practically begging Abi to marry him. Where is your dignity man??

I saw last night's episode so realize that Motor's love is Eduviges. I thought she loved him but guess I was wrong. Bother sisters deserve Julio - Tono get out now and for heavens sake Motor, go to Juanita who really cares about you!

Fausto makes my skin crawl. Blech.

Diana

Diana, thank you so much, and ITA about Diego. Why would somebody be so willing to settle like that? To love somebody so much who doesn't love you back seems unhealthy. Energy would be better spent moving on.

A detail I didn't mention in the Lucio/Benito brawl was that initially Mac jumped in the middle and defended Ben against Lucio. Then Lucio smacked her to the ground. That was when Ben said to run, and she stole the money.

Max & Motor need to give it a try.

Thank you TN4Ever for the recap. Fausto is so creepy can't wait for the anvils to start dropping. If only Abi could actually fall in love with Diego it would actually be nice and he seems like such a good guy for her.

Thanks for the recap, TNever!

My favorite part of the episode was when that kid Domingo said he wanted some taquitos.

Max and Motor are wasting their time. Either they should get together or maybe at least Motor can set his eyes on Juanita. She seemed interested. And just wait until the sisters find out they're being conned and played by the same guy.

Fausto is sick. Just plain sick. I hope Abi wakes up.

Does Lucio really believe the words that come out of his mouth sometimes? The whole "killing as a last resort" thing was hilarious.

TN4ever,
What an awesome recap! Thanks for writing it. So many great lines that have been mentioned already.

ITA about Diego. He is a genuine guy, but Abi will be angry when she finds out he lied about seeing Dianaconda and Fausto together. That lie will haunt him until the truth comes out. Of course that lie doesn't keep me from liking the guy.

On another note, I really wish that Abi would react or have some kind of emotion when "El amor de su vida" was an inch away from her face. I mean come on, the love of your life is professing his love for you and all you can do is stare at him as if you were an alien. What is with the stare? Can someone explain this? Is this the actress' MO?? Even when Mateo and her were "together" she had that stare, with a bit of a smile. But still, even before Mateo was married and they would meet at the river, it was a starefest. Mateo might be clueless in some aspects, but at least he shows some emotion and longing to be with her. Ok, rant over for now, but I might continue later.

Hasta pronto

AUNTIE: ITA the stooooopid stare.

what a great and enthusiastic recap. thanks tn4ever. it takes a lot to write one of these, especially if you get a slimy, wet, stinky, slobbering thing like Fausto.

Would someone please come up with an appropriate sleaze ball name Fausto? Fartface just doesn't do him justice.
