Quiero Amarte (Week 31-Apr 20) Highlights & Discussion
BREAKING NEWS
Don Mauro Montesinos, head of the Montesinos family, chairman and majority shareholder of the Nescafé-Mexico empire and owner of vast coffee lands in Chiapas, has been missing and presumed dead for many weeks. Most of his family members cannot believe he is dead. In breaking news it seems a Dr. Marco Antonio Linares, newly arrived head of the Chiapas medical clinic, has been instrumental in identifying him as being alive (and to his own surprise, identifying him also as his father). Don Mauro is in serious but not critical condition upon being rescued. He is alive thanks to two individuals who prefer to remain anonymous. Family members had gathered in the Montesinos Mansion in Mexico City, expecting a family reunion that never took place. They have yet to be informed of Mauro’s recovery and status. This story has not been officially confirmed, but sources close to the scene have indicated it is credible. More news on the family’s reaction as it comes in to News Central.

Is there any link where can I find the episodes with english subtitles?
I'm from Hungary and I can't find anything.
Thanks for the answer!
Monika
Your desire for English captions is behind the reason Caray Caray exists. We try to provide English summaries of many shows and the forum allows us to discuss the show and people are free to ask questions.
Perhaps one of my friends can help you more. Have you been watching most of Quiero Amarte? Are the summaries, or recaps helpful?
Again, thank you for joining us and welcome!
:D
Nice of you to stop by. What Lila has told you is correct. If you are comfortable with English, I suggest you READ the recap first, then watch the un-subtitled episode, then if you need to, re-read the recap.
Unfortunately the beginning of this telenovela wasn't recapped regularly, but later on we settled down after we found enough recappers to fill the week.
You are an amazing woman!
As evidenced especially by today's setup and much, much more, you have earned the Infinity Achievement Award for Recappers, i.e far more than the usual 110% gold pin. Your achievement exceeds Platinum,.
All of you probably know this already, but I just read in People en Espanol that our Cristian de LF
will be a part of the cast of Devious Maids in its 3rd season, each Monday beginning June 1st.
I intend to become a strong fan of the show.
So looking forward to today's episode.
All the best,
Gee, it sounds like CdlF will be in fierce competition with Jane the Virgin and Avenida Brasil for me. Thank goodness we are living in the 21st Century and most of us can save or record two or three programs at once!
Everything that happened to Don Mauro
Dr. Marco Antonio Linares has arrived at Granny’s home, where she and Jacinta (formerly known to us as Dulce) have been caring for “un desconocido.” He’s in very bad shape, delirious, feverish, moaning and groaning from a cot in the bedroom. Marco is thunderstruck to realize the man on the cot is none other than Mauro Montesinos—his very own father, although Mauro doesn’t know it. Marco learns from the ladies how they found him, thrown up on some rocks by the river. He was unconscious. They hauled him up, still wearing this bullet-proof jacket. Jacinta shows it to Marco. Granny says she’s sure someone had been shooting at him. Granny says they were treating him with herbs until he started to get feverish. Marco says he’ll take him to the clinic. Mauro starts to babble, something about Lucrecia is an asesina and something about his hijos. Marco will take him immediately to the clinic in his car. When he mentions the police, Mauro comes to and very agitatedly says, NO Police. Marco assures him they will do what he wants. He babbles on about someone harming his hijos.
Marco has made it to the emergency entrance and they are rolling Don Mauro in on a stretcher, surrounded by attendants in white. (I hope Mauro doesn’t wake up and think he’s dead and gone to heaven with these angels around him.) Marco is barking out orders. He’s critical. He’ll be responsible for this patient, he tells the intake nurse. He doesn’t want anyone to know he is here. Don Mauro is his father. Angela is right there to hug her husband, Marco. He lets her know he and Mauro had no opportunity to identify themselves. Mauro never opened his eyes and was just babbling. He does share with her that Mauro doesn’t want anyone in his family, nor the police, to know his whereabouts. Apparently someone was trying to kill him. He said it was his wife, so if she knows he’s alive, his children may be at risk. Angela wonders if this woman might be the same one that wanted him dead as a newborn. Marco looks pensive.
Everything that happened to Max while at the local jail
Max is behind bars. Jorge has come to see him. He tells Jorge how he’s gone over and over the events that took place in Horacio’s apartment. He did NOT kill him. The question is, who would want Horacio deader than a door nail? So dead he couldn’t talk to anyone about anything. So dead he couldn’t rat anyone else out for criminal deeds. While Constanza doubts his innocence, Amaya doesn’t. She believes in Max’s innocence. Not only that, *she* believes it was Cesar, her own husband. That could only mean she still cares for Max, she told him so, but wouldn’t tell Max why she married Cesar—only that the reasons were very powerful . He needs to get out of there to prove his innocence. Max is convinced the autopsy won’t help, it will only make him look guiltier. Max urges Jorge to go ahead and find out where Cesar was all day yesterday, without his knowing it. The other thing he wants is for Jorge to complete the transactions for getting that Brazilian coffee. The project 3-en-1 must continue, even if he is not physically there. He’s convinced that Cesar has achieved one of his desires—to get Max out of the picture. Max doesn’t want Cesar to win. Jorge promises.
Amaya is out in the waiting room standing with Caro 2.0 when Cesar marches up to her and spits out in anger that she’s not behaving like a proper wife. Amaya spits back not to yell. She further tells him she’s not the kind of woman he can order around, control or manipulate—he should have figured that out by now. Cesar now answers in icy control of himself, leaning near her. He always gets what he wants. She should remember that and not provoke him. She is to respect him as her husband.
At El P. Becca is making herself at home, helping peel potatoes when Hydrangea runs in and flips on the radio so everyone can hear the news. Maximiliano Montesinos has been accused of murder and is being held in the Mexico City jail. They hear the full story (which was scooped by the investigative reporter for the Chiapas Weekly News the night before). They all run out to tell Hector and Mariana, leaving Becca behind. She limps out, too. They reach Mariana and Hector. They are shocked. Here comes Becca bringing up the rear. They all stand around and debate the little known facts they have at hand. Everyone is worried about the rest of the family, about Amaya and Valeria. Mariana immediately prepares to go to Mexico to be with Amaya for moral support. She goes to pack a bag and catch a plane. Hector and everyone promise to let Iván know why she went and will contact her with any news from Iván. Mariana takes time to call Amaya before she leaves. Heri gives Mari a letter to give to Flavia—they smile knowingly.
The defense attorney has finally showed up in the lobby of the police station. He gives them the baaaaaaaaad news. There is enough evidence against Max for him to be formally charged and transferred to prison, there to await the date of his execution, no, I mean, his judgment and sentencing in a Mexican court of law (which is approximately the same thing as an execution). No words are spoken by the family members. Their reactions show in their faces. Max is still pacing in his cell like a caged animal. Finally, Constanza breaks the silence and (with the overpowering music in the foreground) the din is deafening. She yells he cannot go to prison. He’s innocent. Everyone joins in the verbal mêlée. The official in charge shushes them. It may have been accidental, but he is still responsible. (I guess that means he’s been judged already.) Cesar, in all (in)sincerity, tells the attorney to do everything in his power to get Max out. No Montesinos should be in jail (yeah, speak for yourself, twerp). The attorney doesn’t want to give them false hope. The evidence is so strong, the only way to find Max innocent is to find the person who is really responsible. Juliana asks to see Max right away. He’ll arrange it. Cesar paces with a look of confidence and fear.
Juliana and Max have a chance to talk, but the attorney gives him the baaaaaaaad news about being transferred to prison. Max can already see himself making 7,305 hash marks on the wall of his cell (that’s 20 years + 5 leap year days), so he begs them to find the person who really killed Horacio. Juli tells Max she agrees with Amaya about Cesar being behind all this—trying to get all the Montesino siblings out of the way—and how they came to that conclusion. She says confronting him will only put him on notice that they suspect him. First they should find out if *anyone* saw Cesar coming in or going out of Horacio’s apartment. Max feels helpless being locked up. Without him, without his father, Cesar is likely to take over everything completely. Juliana reassures him that she, Jorge and Amaya won’t let that happen. Max looks at her and she admits she and Amaya are in this together. Juli explains she’s not at all like what they think she has become. Amaya is also a victim in all this. He wants to know what about Amaya. Juli won’t tell him until he’s free.
Out in the lobby, Caro 2.0 is telling Amaya how guilty she feels for what has transpired. If only she hadn’t told Max what Horacio had done to Amaya, none of this would have happened. Amaya tries to make her feel better (but in truth, she *is* at fault). Consta is over in another part of the lobby trying to get Don Manuel to get Max out the same way he got José out—suborning a witness. Manuel tries to get her to see the two circumstances are entirely different. She pleads and begs for her baby’s sake, he can’t have a convicted felon in prison, as a father. She’s going to die of sadness (try shame, Consta). She blames her situation on “esa” meaning Amaya, who’s been like poison in her life. One by one, in turn, the other Montesinos family express their sorrow at the situation—Mauro’s disappearance and Max in jail. Flavia hears Elo say that Max is paying for the wickedness of others. Others, she asks, what others? Lucrecia and Cesar are sitting apart from the rest. She’s popping more pills. Cesar tells her to stop—she’s up to 17 pills, already.
Amaya speaks (in excellent accented English) to the directors of Vale’s school in the States. She’s telling them that someone in authority will be traveling to the school to bring Vale back to Mexico. She further tells the person she doesn’t want Vale to know her father died until she’s back with her. Caro 2.0 will go home to get her passport and be off. They’ll be back tomorrow. Juli and Amaya plot and plan some more using Florencia. Juli believes Cesar and Luce are quaking in their boots, thinking Flo is still alive. They should continue to keep the pressure on them. Amaya wonders if that is a good idea—without Max. Juli says it is FOR Max they should. Juli thinks if they can get them to confess, they will be the ones behind bars. As a coup de grâce, they will also accuse Cesar of killing Horacio and they will have to open an investigation. Amaya believes Cesar was very careful not to leave any evidence behind. Juli says there is no such thing as a Perfect Crime. [If anyone has not seen the Spanish (from Spain) movie, El Crimen Perfecto, 2004, get it and watch it. It’s very funny, served with a bit of gore.] Cesar is the only one who benefits from each and every one of these events.
Max is pondering his fate. He concludes, that, along with Amaya and Juliana, Cesar is behind all this. How could Cesar hate him so much.
Cesar is walking around in the police station with Luce. He tells her to calm down, she’s acting as if this were all his fault. Well, in a matter of speaking, it is, she retorts. She must have some vestige of feelings for her flesh and blood offspring as she claims had she known what he was planning, she would never have approved it. Yes, she wanted Max out of the way, but not by being accused of murder. Cesar, as cold-blooded as he can sound tells her that sometimes radical measures are required to obtain the results desired. Luce is slightly appeased, but still worried about the matter of Florencia. It’s a good thing she didn’t show up to talk last night. Cesar agrees that Florencia’s non-appearance was very beneficial for Luce. If she had talked, it would be Luce in the pokey, not Max. (Oh, Luce, what kind of creature have you engendered—he’s ready, willing and able to sell you off, too, for his own greedy gains.) He promises Luce to get Max out of jail once Mauro’s will is read and he takes the reins of the empire legitimately. Pinky promise (with fingers crossed, I bet).
Amaya and Juli are still in the lobby at the police station. Amaya gets a call from Vale. Amaya tells her Caro is coming to get her because her daddy has had an accident and he fell and hit his head. Poor little thing, she has no idea the emotional trauma she’s about to encounter—not just the news of her father and Max’s “involvement,” but of whatever Uli is planning. Juli tells her she has to be strong for Vale.
Jorge and Don Manuel talk about moving ahead with the 3-en-1, even without Max. Manuel is ok with that. Jorge takes his leave.
The supervisor and the guards come for Max. He’s handcuffed and on his way to prison. He encounters his whole family, still waiting in the lobby. The first person to approach him is Consta, but his eyes are on Amaya. Mamá promises he will be out soon. He has some tender words for Consta, then turns to look at Cesar and says that justice will be done. Cesar says that’s what they all hope. Max agrees that for him, more than anyone. Even Amaya gets to tell him she knows he will be free soon. Consta takes him in her arms for an embrace and a very chaste kiss, while Amaya looks on unhappily. Cesar holds up his cell phone and takes a picture of the affectionate leave-taking (although he can’t really see the affection is one-sided). Cesar looks at the picture and says good-bye to Max and good-riddance. He’ll be sure and take care of the family wealth.
Don Manuel urges Consta to come back to the house with him. He’s sure she’ll be better off with him than with Lucrecia. Consta agrees and takes their leave. The rest of them are heading back to the MM. Jorge has picked up Mariana and has arrived at the house, then Amaya. They greet each other. Once alone, Mari shivers, this house feels so COLD. They go upstairs to catch each other up on all the news.
Don Manuel and Consta get back to the house and he urges her to eat. First she heads back to her old bedroom. Guess who has installed himself in her room. Do we really need to mention his name? Consta says to herself how lonely she’ll be without Max and wonders what she’s going to do without him. José comes right on in as if he belonged there. He informs her the guest room was too small for him, so he’s moved all her stuff in there. Consta guesses right, she’s now only a visitor to this house.
Everything that is happening WUN at the finca La Tormenta.
Uli and Cecy, not having anything left to do carnally, are relaxing with drinks out in her outdoor (but covered) living room. She’s flicked on their big screen TV (which apparently is never exposed to dust, spiders, blowing wind or rain). What to their wondering eyes should appear on the screen, but a comely newscaster who passes on the news about the scion of the Montesinos family, in JAIL for murder. Uli flicks off the TV and explains the dead guy is the father of the “escuincle” they need to bring their plans to fruition and the killer is none other than the guy who showed up to free Iván. They are going to take advantage of this since the child will surely return to Mexico. Maybe Mariana AND Iván will show up for the wake and the funeral as well. They look at each other, hungrily thinking of their good luck and maybe aroused enough for another round, but instead, Cecy thinks of food—so they can get going to Mexico City that afternoon.
Iván has called Hector. He’s just arrived and on his way to La Tormenta, but hasn’t made his presence known yet. Hector tells him about Max. Iván wants his dad to call him and let him know that Mariana has arrived safely.
Uli is calling Passport Photo Guy, who is still in Mexico City, to stay there and keep watch on the Montesinos Mansion—to see who comes and who goes. He’s expecting Valeria to arrive for the wake. Cecy walks up as he ends the call. They’ll use the SUV, but Cecy has to drive in case the highways are still being monitored. They’ll work the hotel arrangements with an extra set of keys so he can come to her room when the coast is clear.
Apparently Cecy is packed and ready to go. It’s Uli that’s not packed yet. She yells for him to hurry up (but doesn’t use his name). He yells back that he’s coming. But…someone else is coming, from behind. Iván surprises the hell out of Cecy. Uli stops himself in time and hides behind a pillar. Iván gives him the song and dance he prepared about wanting to talk to Becca about some of the things in his past. Cecy tells him that is too bad because she’s on vacation for a few days. Iván sees she’s off on a trip as well. Cecy says it’s a business trip to Mexico City. That’s ok, Iván asks if he can wait for her there. Oh, and by the way, he and Mariana aren’t getting along because he still doesn’t remember her and it’s very hard to be with her under those circumstances—he can’t even remember how they fell in love. (Uli’s pricks up his hears in the background as he hears this tid-bit.) Iván says they can talk about it after she returns. Ah, heck, her trip can wait. (Uli’s doesn’t like hearing that tid-bit.)
Uli, in an opportunity to be alone with Cecy, tells her she *has* to go with him to Mexico City. She says, sorry bub. (He’s thinking about her being his driver.) He says, sorry, sis, she can’t turn her back on him now or he’ll very quickly call the police anonymously that she’s been giving him money and is his accomplice. He wouldn’t do that, would he? Try him. Not only that, he’ll kill Iván first, because if he can’t have Mariana, she’s certainly not going to have that imbecile. Cecy starts to sweet-talk Uli. It’s ok, let’s do things her way. She’ll still go to Mexico, but by plane in the morning and help him with his plans. She’s sure she still has a chance with Iván and wants Uli to be able to carry off Mariana to some other country as soon as possible. Uli agrees, but she’d better not try to double-cross him or she and Iván will pay the consequences.
Iván suspects Uli is already in Mexico and Cecy is heading there to meet up with him. He feels he must figure out how to go with her and get to Mexico City as soon as possible.
Everything that happened to Max on arrival at the prison
Prior to his confinement, Max must furnish fingerprints, turn in his personal property, receives his drab beige jumpsuit, gets mug shots taken, led to his cell and sees his new cell mate. No shower scene. Probably not appropriate this time. Freeze frame on Max’s face
1.) STOP CLINGING TO MAX CONSTANZIA: You are the female version of Salvador Cruz (who's clinging to Sophia every single second on Hasta El Fin Del Mundo).
2.) Cesar sneaking a photo from his cell phone: weird.
3.) Oh Where, Oh Where is Don Mauro? Oh Where, Oh Where can he be ?
4.) Luc forgetting her happy pills again? LOL.
Even if you have extra time, being retired, your dedication and skills are awesome and definitely praiseworthy
Let us appreciate you. :) We know you're modest, but you do a lot for us and we know it.
Yay you!
Pt. 1
Thank goodness Mauro has retained his memory and wits despite his ordeal and feverish state! He had the presence of mind to tell Marco NOT to notify the police or tell his children! And thank goodness that he's going to obey HIS FATHER's wishes!! YES!!
Pt. 2
They hear the full story (which was scooped by the investigative reporter for the Chiapas Weekly News the night before). You GO, Girl!
7,305 hash marks Hee Hee and YIKES!
Pt. 3
Wonder how Flavia is going to take these reveals on her mother. I know she won't have any trouble believing Cesar is up to know good. It'll be interesting to see her take on the revelations.
Wonder what kind of pills Lu is popping? I am surprised at Lu's distress over the charges against Max and his imprisonment. Yes, she's concerned about the Montesino name being draged through the mud, but she sees really concerned about Max as well. Not only am I surprised, I think Lu is too! It's always been all Cesar, all the time. Well, he's learned from her too well and SHE didn't know here beloved Cesar as well as thought. Even though Cesar talked about killing Max, apparently she didn't believe him and never believed he would set Max up to take the rap for murder.
Poor Vale. I maintain hope that Uli's plan will be foiled. If the writers have Vale's dad murdered by the man her mother married AND let Uli get his slimy hands on her, that's child abuse!
More later!
Mariana made a statement " this house feels so COLD."that is because evil lives in that house. and you know WHO OF I speak. I am so over Tweedle Dum (uli)and tweedle dumber(cecy). And the drama continues.
Nina!
Ugh. Jose. He doesn't even deserve an accent over his e.
Tired of Uli and Ceci. Truly tired. I can truly imagine this story without them. Would be nice if we get an early anvil at their expense!
Pt. 5
I still think Ivan's plan is stupid and he's risking getting shot and mounted above the fireplace.
No shower scene. Probably not appropriate this time. Yah, I think not! Yikes!
Wonderful recap, Anita. Back again soon to read comments! Thanks.
Now they're going to kidnap poor Vale :(
Amaya's English is very good!
Luc took 17 pills ? Does she have some kind of mental illness or something?
Ivan's plan: STUPID just like Pete Carroll's 2nd & Goal play in the Super Bowl!
Nina
Shut up, Connie.
Shut up, Jose.
I like Angela. She's a smart cookie. She made the connection between the woman who tried to kill Marco and Lu right away.
Looks like everyone is going to D.F. Which means that's where all the action is about to go down.
:D
Isn't that so refreshing, Vivi! This show has been full of smart good guys!
Now I don't watch crime shows but common sense tells me people shouldn't be able to go in and out of Hor's apartment, it being a crime scene and all. So. What I'm wondering is, when, how and who will discover Hor's message on the computer. Would the cops even think to look? With a computer (and camera memory card) being key in the evidence against Lu, I think Amaya and Juli would think of it but they can't go into the apartment. Maybe one of them will talk to the investigators and ask some key questions. Not only will Max be exonerated, but Cesar's arse will be locked up. I guess it's too early for that!
Poor girl just lost her father in the most horrific way! Now Stalkers Uli & Cecy Goldilocks are going to kidnap her just to get inside Amaya's head :(
Glad Marco's wife has put 2 & 2 together regarding why Luc wanted to kill Marco.
I'm agreeing with everyone here: everybody is going down to Mexico City, where the action is going on!
Did you figure this out yet?
3.) Oh Where, Oh Where is Don Mauro? Oh Where, Oh Where can he be ?
If I remember correctly, Lu has always been against harm coming to her children and she communicated that to Cesar mid-way through. Remember when he left her bedroom, many moons ago, and stood outside and said he'd have to eliminate Max anyway, regardless of his mother?
That doesn't take away anything from her fear of losing status and being the butt of malicious gossip. The family's social position has been everything to her--even an unhappy, though financially rewarding marriage. Her background was humble, as I recall. If she wanted to be a singer and hung out with the likes of Omar and got pregnant by him, I don't think she came from money or class.
Mexican CSI is just not on the ball for our expectations. Max's culpability rests only on the autopsy. They don't even know what "the heavy object" is. Will they *ever* find the computer and realize its importance? Did anyone of us wonder what Cesar did with the bloody handkerchief? I didn't until just now.
Cesar destroyed the original camera memory card, but Amaya made a copy on her computer, I guess, because she got the pictures printed. So, at least they will have that at the "Flo" reunion.
Steve--It's hard to say what Uli has in mind for Vale (kidnapping is what he knows best), but it surely has more to do with forcing Mariana to go with him to save Vale's life or return her. If so, it will be a tough decision and bound to create a wedge between Amaya and Mari. I HOPE it doesn't come to that. The sisters need each other.
I'm dying to know what Heri wrote in his letter to Flavia. The way he was smiling when he gave it to Mari made me think he's not going to leave. He's going to stick around and continue to woo her. He's a good man. He and Flavia will have to get over wagging tongues that he's marrying up for her money (like Sal surely would).
Has anyone noticed Max's hair is getting long again? That makes me more convinced than ever he cut it for the commercial!
Nina!--You are too much. Jose needs a laxative, because....
Lila--You are full of fun, too. Jose doesn't deserve an accent!
BTW, Nina!--Last week, when our comments reach 200, it switches to a second page. You get there by clicking on Newer-> Newest. If you want to see your comment, then click on that.
I did delete all your duplicate postings. But thank you so much for the sentiment. We all appreciate the support our readers and lurkers give us.
That's true, Anita, but I also remember Lu gloating and toasting more than once to Cesar's successful efforts to thwart Max. The burning of the ZE I think was one of those times. She did tell him not to even think of killing Max but Cesar was so stricken by her ability to kill his own biological father that it made a deep impression on him and he aspired to her "skill." Cesar is responsible for his own actions but Lu's own example and a lifetime of siding with Cesar and not even showing the other children the degree of physical affection she shows Cesar makes her responsible as well for Cesar setting Max up for murder.
It seems, and maybe somebody already said this, it seems she is realizing the depravity and ruthlessness of the monster she created! I think she may be shaken as well by the horror of having to see one son sent to jail knowing the other is guilty for the crime.
I feel no pity for her!
as for the c_s_'s in mexico, on this telenova, I guess it's safe to say they're not organized. they haven't dusted for fingerprints, they haven't considered the hole in the top of his head. And that computer is a big attraction but they are walking all over it. And other stuff in the apartment. I think if they did all of that it will probably cut the show short. But Caesar really didn't touch anything in that apartment except that murder weapon and he wiped the prints off. like you said where did he throw the handkerchief with all the blood on it. It wouldn't do any good if they did. they're not checking stuff like that.
Anita, thank you for telling me about the comments on the new page cuz I was going crazy and getting kind of pissed, cuz I'm thinking "I really wanted ya"ll to get this." now I'll try to get my comments in before the page ends.
Nina
Nina
Yes, Nina! You got that right! I got some stuff to do before 3 as well. See ya!
I was disappointed with this episode
because of the continued prolongation of the novela with the foolish designs of the 2 crazy kidnappers.
Glad that Don Mauro was brought to the hospital and that there is an intention of keeping him safe.
Looking forward to brighter days ....
Nina.
1.) Amaya having to tell Vale about her father's death :(
2.) Luc crossing the line by telling Lucio harshly that Max is in prison. Flavia was super pissed off at Luc!
3.) Glad Dr. Marco is keeping Don Mauro safe!
4.) I've noticed that Whoracio was buried at the same church where Florencia is buried.
5.) Constanzia needs to SHUT UP!
6.) Manuel's son still up to no good. Little brat will get an anvil bigger because prison didn't send him a message to stop his evil ways.
7.) Juliana using the voice disguise on the computer was very impressive, keeping Cesar & Luc Happy Pills on their toes.
8.) Ivan's plan very STUPID.
9.) Cecy Goldilocks needs to get off my TV screen NOW!
10.) Sal leaving town already ?
11.) Only ones who showed up to Whoracio's funeral were Vale, Amaya, Elo, Juliana, Jorge, Mariana & Caro. I'm guessing Whoracio's parents, siblings & cousins didn't bother to show up.
12.) What really made my blood boil was Cesar lurking inside & telling a grieving Vale that Max "killed" her father. Amaya giving Cesar The Slap was heard all the way to San Antonio, TX!
13.) Cesar took a freaking SELFIE at Whoracio's crypt. A SELFIE! Pissed me off & raised my blood pressure!
And how about a "Thank you" actually spelled out, not implied in the comments AFTER the recapper has submitted their summary, whether it's one page or 8 pages? No need to comment on our writing style or quote things that you thought were good or funny, just type out T-h-a-n-k Y-o-u. These two things will be more appreciated than any written plause you can imagine.
If you are just so taken with some things that happened, save it on a word document or Notepad and then post it after the recap is up and we can discuss it until our hearts are content. Posting to soon can also spoil the impact of the episode for the recap and others.
If this shoe doesn't fit, leave it alone and keep steppin'!
Thank you!
Poor Horacio. He must be a siblingless orphaned child of two only children parents who are dead in order for NO one to show up from his side of the family.
Can't wait any longer now. See you at the CRYPT.
We SHOULD wait until the recap is up. When life gets in the way, the recapper will notify Carayers the recap will be late and for us to go ahead and discuss. We should wait for your wonderful recap, which I will definitely savor to the fullest.
In our haste to comment, we often forget to say Thank You to the recappers for the time and effort they put in to expand and illuminate our watching experience. That little thank you goes a long way to making it all worth while.
Now all she has to do is keep quiet about it for a little while.
Nina
Okay. I'm going to do a really brief summary since Steve already hit some key points. It will in no way be a literary exercise and will probably not be up before 8 p.m. so feel free to discuss.
We're with you till the end of QA.
I think I'll take my dinner and eat in front of the TV and call it a TV dinner (shades of the late 50s?).
1. Uli and Ceci continue their “break up Ivan and Mariana” plan with modifications. Ivan is with Ceci and convinces her to let him accompany her to Mexico City. Uli gets a report from his photographer spy-guy (who seems to be able to be everywhere at once) who reports that the brat, Vale is back in the D.F. and that Mariana is there with Amaya. Jerk wad Uli is pleased
2. Flavia receives Heriberto’s note which basically expresses empathy and solidarity with her over Max’s incarceration. She calls him to thank him for his support and he is over the moon and, I’m sure, takes this as he has a chance with her.
3. Mariana tells Amaya that Dr. Antonio Marco Linares came to El P looking for her and wants to talk to her. Mariana’s not sure, but she thinks his parents knew her parents or something. Amaya says she will try to contact him but she doesn’t what with Vale’s arrival and Horacio’s interment.
4. Useless, thieving Jose steals a large sum of money from his Dad by making a phone photo deposit of the check. He practices forging Manuel’s signature. I think he’s stealing it to do something with his car. I don’t care. I hate him. Feel free to correct me.
5. Juliana and Jorge talking about continuing efforts to find evidence to free Max. Juliana makes a call as Florencia. She tells Cesar that she knows Max is innocent and that HE killed Horacio. Cesar and Lu have a mild freak out: Florencia is a danger to both of them!
6. Max tosses and turns at night thinking how he’s GOT to get out of the joint. Later, in a kind of funny scene Max is haranguing his cell mate on the different puzzling points of his predicament. The cell mate is an amazingly good listener! Max gets a visit from Connie. Connie tells Max she doesn’t like that Amaya visited. Max tells her Amaya wanted to express her belief in his innocence. Connie doesn’t think this vote of support should matter to him. Max tells Connie he will NOT discuss Amaya with her! Connie feels unwelcome in her Dad’s house with Geno and Jose there. Max tries to tell Connie to take him out of the equation of her life. She refuses. She’s NOT going to leave Max!
7. Manuel meets with a REAL (ethical) lawyer to work on Max’s case. He asks good lawyer as well to pay special attention to what the lawyer whom Cesar hired is doing as he trusts neither one of them.
8. Cesar instructs the lawyer he hired to ignore Lu, who wants Max out ASAP and follow HIS orders. Lawyer tells him Max could get 20 years in prison. Cesar breaks out in a huge, enthusiastic GRIN. [Anyone feel free to clarify this if I didn’t get it right].
9. Vale arrives in Mexico City and learns the sad and tragic news that her Papa has died. This is a very touching scene and thankfully they muted the volume after the first wails. Heartbreaking! They must have an express crematorium as well as express divorce because in no time flat, they have Hor’s ashes in a cubicle-shaped container ready for interment in the crypt. Elo, Jorge, Caro and Juli express their condolences and tenderly console her. Cesar tells her that her Papa was murdered. . . . . . .by Max! Vale freaks out! Amaya slaps the taste out of Cesar’s mouth and tells him to stay away from and out of all matters related to Valeria! Cesar takes a selfie with Hor’s urn. He even smiles. Sick bastard.
10. LU tells Lucio his Dad is missing and that Max is in prison for killing Vale’s Dad. This freaks Lucio out, of course. Flavia takes him to his room to calm him down. Later, poor Lucio cries under the coffee table in the living room. His twin, Flavia, comforts him. Amaya, Elo and Vale arrive. The funeral is over. Lucio tells her his Papa has died, too. Vale tells him his Papa can return but her Papa cannot because Max killed him. Lucio comes out from under the table and denies Max did it because Max is good!
11. Sal quits his University job. He has nothing more to give.
12. Jorge and Caro review footage from the security camera in the parking ramp and see Cesar leaving the ramp five minutes after Max and figure out that Cesar must have followed Max to Horacio’s apartment!
13. Mauro is more coherent. He asks to talk to Manuel. Dr. Marco can’t reach Manuel so Mauro asks to talk to Juliana. Dr. Marco is successful in reaching Juliana! Juliana is shocked and overjoyed to talk to her Papa and Mauro is so moved and happy to talk to her! This is where the episode ends, on Juliana’s face filled with shock and joy at the same time!
14. Not superstitious, but just to not end on 13, I am soooo glad that Juliana is the first of his children to know he is alive. Yes, Marco “found” him, but Mauro doesn’t know yet that is his son. I’m glad Marco is the first before Mauro’s known children to see him alive and that Juliana, the oldest of the known children is the first to discover he is still alive. Great moment! I know I keep saying it, but I can’t wait until tomorrow!
I see no need to correct you... I hate No Accent Jose too!
;D
No need for correction on #4. Jose is a little piece of estiércol. I didn't want him to suffer too much because that would hurt Geno, but I'm beyond caring. She and Manuel are allowing this pissy attitude, and do nothing to stop it. He needs more than a talking to from Manuel. Maybe he and Ulises can share a jail cell! But they'd probably just become friends, the schmucks. (Running out of blog-appropriate name-calling).
Kelly
I'm so glad Papa mauro is back! Cesar is a cold hearted, cold-blooded jerk. and those are his good qualities. yuck!!!!!!
Nina
Can you believe Jose? I was wondering the other day what Manuel would do if he REALLY showed his arse and this theft is going to really make Manuel go allistic. I guess Jose is their punishment for cheating on Connie's mother!
Nina-- I will miss the good people, too. Sal can certainly get lost, the trouble making butthead! And yah, I guess I can stand Ceci and Uli. We really haven't had a lot of stupid stuff in this show.
And yes!! Mauro is back! Will Juli be able to hold her peace!
Succinct and powerful. Really enjoyed the ending. I hope Juliana reveals the truth about Mauro to all of the good family members including Max. They all need a strong ray of hope right now. They'll use their discretion about telling Lucio who may not be able to keep that secret.
My hopes are still high that Sal will drive off in a rage and suffer a fatal blow in a crash, thus preparing the way for the adoption of his child with Connie after her demise.
Zzzzzzzzzzz!
Nina
Sal's end duly noted. I guess they couldn't just let him leave and just disappear.
Two questions for you, Floridia:
Are you still not saying Amaya's name and do you think they can ever bring back the magic between her and Max?
That Valeria has a LOT of hair. Cute black and white outfit she's wearing.
I find it interesting how many times Connie has said how hard Max's incarceration is on HER. Self-centered much, Connie?
It is so profound and sweet that the thought-dead son, Marco Antonio, gets to not only find his Papa, but help save his life! I say help because I don't want to take anything from Granny, the curandera, and her Granddaughter, Angela, who spotted him on the river bank. The two carried him home and saved him from certain death. That must not have been an easy task as Mauro is a big guy and that was all "dead weight" plus he'd had a heart attack AND a near drowning!
It is also touching and wonderful that Juliana, the daughter that Lu purposely drove out of the Montesino home and who thus spent years estranged from Mauro should be Marco Antonio's ally in protecting him until the time is right for him to appear.
Marco doesn't know the whole story but he IS part of the story. He knows that a woman tried to have him killed and his adoptive Mother saved his life and fled with him to Guatemala. Marco suspects the woman who wanted him killed is Lucrecia. Mauro will certainly verify this dramatic and damning story!
Mauro knows Lucrecia killed Florencia, David and Omar; shot Amaya and framed Emma for the shooting. I don't think Amaya or anyone else knows Lucrecia killed Emma because the potassium drops were undetectable, it being a substance we all have in our bodies and leaves no incriminating trace. Everyone thinks she had a heart attack. Lucrecia may "get away" with this. (Correct me if I'm wrong re anyone knowing or even suspecting Lucrecia killed Emma.)
Further, Mauro knows that Cesar is NOT his son as Lucrecia, herself, told Mauro that thus bringing on his heart attack; but Lucrecia was able to trick Amaya who unwittingly confirmed the lie that Cesar is a Montesino.
Mauro, of course, was an attempted murder victim of Lucrecia's so he has this on her as well.
Juliana was clued in by Amaya and knows what Mauro knows MINUS Lucrecia's attempt to murder her Papa, Mauro. Of course, neither Mauro nor Juliana know at this point that Marco Antonio is Mauro's son by Florencia and her brother!
I am relishing how all the revelations will come together for Mauro and his two, non-Lucrecia children to unmask and rescue his children born of that twisted, wicked, hell-born and bound, Lucrecia! I look forward to that arrogant and evil Cesar being brought down, groveling with SHOCK that his "brilliant" ass will be housed with "common criminals" and shamed that he burned the ZE, gloated over "his Papa's" death and schemed with his psychotic, murderous mother to take over the Montesino Empire. I could see him preferring death to any of this but that would be too easy. Let neither of them die! Let them live and soak in the contempt, rejection and unforgiving glare of the family, their peers and all of Mexico!
Did I say I LOVE this show and I'm EXCITED!
Just a heads up- I have today's recap. I won't get to watch until close to 5 CST and then I will start the recap.
The man is sadistic, narcissistic, devil incarnate, wicked, Satan 2.0, manipulative & the Anti-Christ!
Noticed how Mariana shrugged away from Cesar when he put his arm around her-UGH! She's probably taking long hot shower right now.
How do you make a sheepish grin with your keyboard?
^~^
Everyone should feel free to discuss, but please remember the west coast peeps and try not to make any big reveals until they've gotten a chance to watch.
Other Who Knows Whats
Who knows about the mercury poison in Juli's car (fortunately she didn't die or kill anyone under the influence): Jorge, Elo, Max. Did she tell Amaya? Does Mauro know?
Cesar knows about Luce's attempt on Vale and Amaya in the car fire, but he doesn't count. One of the Scooby-Doos needs to figure that one out. Amaya got a couple of pieces of the puzzle when she found out from the dog-walker about seeing a woman leave quickly and followed the ambulance with Cesar in it.
Cesar knows Luce killed Emma.
BTW, he still has in his possession some of that killer anthrax or ricin or whatever Negro got for him. If he gets desperate enough, he'll use it.
We haven't had any follow-up on Cesar lying about the rental car when he caused that first accident where he "met" Amaya. Amaya and Caro know about that.
Amaya is pretty sure Horacio (RIP-NOT) he caused Cipriano's death, but can't prove it. His story of why he was in Comitan is pretty shaky--except he said Cesar sent him to look for coffee.
She and Caro are pretty sure Negro was directly involved in Gustavo's death.
Oh, the COMPUTER. Someone HAS to find the Computer and SOON. That's the only thing that will release Max from prison. It would also tie up a whole lot of loose ends.
Who knows about the mercury poison in Juli's car - I don't think Amaya or Mauro know about this!
Luce's attempt on Vale and Amaya in the car fire - Yes, Amaya had a lightbulb go off over this but didn't pursue it further. I think that if Amaya bounces it off Juliana and/or Caro, they will come to the right conclusion!
Cesar knows Luce killed Emma. - Ok, but none of the good guys know, right? It would be so sweet if, when the heat is turned up, Cesar and Lu turn on each other and start squealing like stuck pigs!
Oh yes! Cesar still has some ricin!
Yep, Amaya and Caro know his "just happening" to literally run into her was all orchestrated!
Amaya is pretty sure Horacio (RIP-NOT) he caused Cipriano's death - Yes! There's no one to implicate Cesar as ordering the death and even the method by which it was done: adulterated alcohol.
Yes, Amaya and Caro ARE pretty sure Negro was involved in Gustavo's death. Does anyone, other than Cesar, know that Negro is dead? I don't know how often he clears his phone, but he's got video of Hor burying Negro's body!
Hoo boy! So much to reveal! I hope they don't drop a stitch!
#6-I didn't think the scene with Max in prison pacing, trying to figure out what went down out loud while his cell mate was trying to eat, was funny, UNTIL you mentioned it. Yes, it was funny--because when we first got a shot of Max's new cell mate, he looked like BIG trouble.
#11-Sal got as much space as he deserves. I hope the university gives him a bad recommendation at the next place he tries to get a job. They should dock his pay for breach of contract. He's not sick or anything. He just didn't try hard enough to integrate himself in the academic community there. He was just hiding out, hoping things would work out with first Consta, then Flavia. So he just up and says he has to leave? He has nothing more to give? What about his students? Ay de mi, I've given him more space than he deserves.
#4-Jose Without an Accent--Manuel should be able to figure out that little swindle in a jiffy, unless he doesn't do his own accounting...and probably doesn't. But the documents were on HIS desk at home, personally delivered, so he's surely expecting them. I hope this storyline doesn't get dragged out and something fatal happens to him and Geno and Consta can become friendlier and Geno can help take care of Consta's baby, her step-grandchild.
Negro is gone AND forgotten, it seems. Caro was supposed to inquire and only got as far as finding out he was in Chiapas at the very same time Gustavo was there.
#9-Also--one thing that bothers me about the Passport Photo Guy hanging around the airport when Vale arrived. Mariana was there (she and Amaya were already dressed in black for the funeral). I'm surprised she didn't recognize him. She talked to him and spent enough time with him to remember what he looked like--the headband thing when he came to take pictures for her passport. Or at least to wonder where she'd seen the guy before. He was pretty out in the open.
#11 Agree. What a jerk Sal is. They SHOULD dock his pay or sue him!
#4 Can you BELIEVE Jose?! Entitled isn't even the word. You know, no where else in life would I think and speak this way but we are in the safety of novela land and I freely say that Jose has to die. He is irredemable! He is only set for more suffering of himself and thus, unfortunately, his parents, especially Geno. I think he'll do his silly self in in his souped-up expensive car during an illegal street race.
Yes, Anita, they have forgotten poor Negro. He was a much bigger character than Gustavo who's name has continued to be mentioned. None of these poor saps: Gustavo, Negro and Hor, seem to have families or anyone outside their Nescafe connection. It was good to briefly see at least one family member when poor Emma was bumped off but, alas, she's also just a used to be!
#9 Good point, Anita. I guess it also makes sense that because of why they were there she wouldn't even look toward some random guy at the airport. I just fervently hope that NO ONE puts a glove on Valeria! It would be all together too much!
Not only was Max's tough looking cellmate listening to attentively to Max as he poured out his heart, he was also fixing himself a cup of tea and having it with a pastry. LOL!
You informally expanded your recap
with all of your later comments.
RE - your questions to me, I did use the name Amaya a few episodes ago.
I am giving her a break because of all the trouble she has been through and because she has been a prisoner of the TN writers; she didn't stand a chance.
Absolutely, the magic between Amaya and Max can be rekindled and heated up even more fervently. It has been smoldering just under the surface throughout the novela for both of them. Max has never stopped thinking about Amaya. I love the way he shows and shares his feelings to family members and Jorge, and even though they tell him to move on, he continues to be bound body and soul to Amaya.
Max is a person who shows sincere respect for others. I had a feeling that his cell mate would recognize that and not bother him.
Yes, Vivi, it was very funny how Max was thinking out loud, while the other guy dutifully listened as he savored his snack. Many of those tough guys are good judges of character and don't mess with
truly good guys who respect them and mind their own business.
It is interesting to watch the actress playing Valeria grow up in real time. I watched her in Corazon Valiente, and she played a four or five year old in the beginning of the novela.
I am still clinging to my theory on Sal. His demise needs to come soon so that we can focus on the main events. It's not that I despise him or bear him true malice. I selfishly want my thesis to be borne out...altho I canot stand the guy.
I think Amaya was clued in about
Juliana's poisoning about 4 or 5 shows back. Several of the good guys were there, and they were talking about it, and they brought up the fact in front of Amaya that Juli almost ran into her and Vale.
They were listing some of Cesar's offenses.
Another question: do you think
Mauro's recording of Lu's confession could have survived the accident? This would be a powerful clincher. The curandera showed the bullet proof vest. I am wondering if she has any other items stowed away.
Now I remember, Amaya WAS there when the poisoned spray in the car was brought up.
As to Mauro's recording. Only TN writers know for sure at this point. It would be a stretch of the imagination in any crime program to have it survive getting water-logged, but stranger things have happened.
I vote for the recording to have survived--or for Lucrecia to think it survived, although to nail her, they only need his declaration she confessed to him. After all, isn't this the way all good guys are convicted down there? One witness who says it is so is enough. This is the one time we need it to be true.
I loved the way Max finally shut her down in their prison visit. Yes, she considers herself the center of the universe. In some perverse sense of yadda yadda it's all about me, I'm sort of glad Jose Without an Accent took over her room. She's been displaced. How long did she expect Manuel to preserve her room as a shrine? (My parents rented out my bedroom to a university professor the 2d year I went away to college, but of course they remodeled the whole attic for me).
I wonder if Amaya will make a visit to see Max. I sure hope so. They can sit across a table, look at each other and maybe touch each other. Here's hoping.
Could it be they filmed this part earlier since they knew in real life the actress had to go to school or whatever? She truly did look so tiny and fragile and younger!
Oh, Floridia, you don't know how happy I am to hear that you have given Amaya a break, said her name and the wonderful observations you make about the spark and magic between Max and Amaya! I remember the two of us especially being enchanted over the declarations of love and THE KISS by Amaya's car way back when! It's been a rough ride for those two and it's not over but I hope they give us more than a half hour of Max and Amaya at the end of the last episode! It's unfair to put us through all the separation, anxiety and anguish only for a few crumbs of amor!
Ahhhhh! One hour to go!
;D
I want to finish this TN before I renounce all for awhile.
Plans are in the works for a novela about José José based on his book Ésta es mi vida. I will be glued to that one, but it may be over a year before it surfaces.
Things are still in negotiation stage.
Vivi, I hope "Valeria" doesn't get into the enhanced bosom and seductress stage too quickly. She's adorable.
It seemed that Max had a double message for Connie:
Don't wait for me; I may be in prison for life.
Don't wait for me. I realize that life with you would be impossible under any circumstances.
And I would be especially delighted if Armando Manzanero could reappear at the Final and seal the deal.
I agree, they need to double up on the portions of romance after all they have put us through.
Max was definitely sending Connie a clear signal that I don't think has anything to do with him being in prison. He now knows that Amaya loves him, and married Cesar for a powerful reason (not for love or money). He's transitioning his mind and heart to be ready to pursue Amaya openly again, and that means Connie has to go.
The book about José José has nothing to do with me. I am simply an ardent fan and follow his music, his health, and his press conferences. There will be a novela based on his autobiography with details to be fleshed out with the major powers that be.
I just finished the book I have been working on for three years. It is an advice book for parents based on my family's experiences with public school. I am getting ready to publish it.
I did not want to mention it here because I did not think it appropriate. It is definitely off topic. I tried the literary agent route to no avail but learned from others that anyone can publish absolutely free with Amazon...so I have to figure out exactly how to do it within the next couple of months. Thanks for asking.
Nina (I'm lovin it)!!!!
Nina
I love Vale's hair too. It is gorgeous and there is SO MUCH of it. Ah. . .I remember when MY hair was thick. . .
Anyway Armando Manzanero is a famous Mexican Singer, an elder statesman in the entertainment world I imagine. Anyway, he sang the theme song to Amaya and Max back in the good old days when Max and Amaya were free to live their love out loud. He wined and dined her on a rooftop in the middle of Mexico City and Armando Manzanero sang "Quiero Amarte" and played the grand piano while Amaya and Max danced!
*Sigh* I think I had the pleasure of recapping that episode and could find it with a little sleuthing but don't have time right now.
Here's the link of him singing it, not in the show but, well, you'll see:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_9nFRyhC-Q
I'm sorry that Cesar didn't get to share a cell with Horacio. I think Horacio really could have shined in that environment.
Unless he messes with Mr. Clean's tea set. Hahahaha. I have to go back now and watch his tea party. (Scenes like this are why I would watch anything this production team puts together).
kelly
Nina
I don't know if some of our friends with more enduring memories can recall if Amaya or Caro ever discussed suspecting Lu was involved in Emma's death?
I'm like my friend, Sara, for whom a theme song can make or break a novella. I haven't seen the QA soundtrack on iPod yet; that's what I'm waiting for!
:D
Jose really does seem like punishment for their long-term affair. But I really like Manuel and Geno and don't want to see them grieving at the end.
About to get started now.
(I base my only knowledge of Mexican prisons on a "selfie" autobiography I saw on 60 min. about an American who has been documenting his years of imprisonment and appeals. He was allowed to have all types of gear in with him--but he had to share his space with double the number of guys in a cell. At least it had barred windows that looked out on a courtyard, so he got light and sun.)
Thanks for the support and encouragement. I truly thought it would be unethical to promote my book here -- and still do -- but I can put the info in an email if you
think it is okay.
Lila,
This TN is getting to us! I even signed my own name as FLORENCIA a couple of weeks ago. Glad to know that her spirit is alive and well.
I am intrigued by the comments about this episode. Guess I will watch it now. I had planned to wait until later, but now I cannot hold out any longer. I'm off to our two favorite places -- Mexico City and Chiapas. Oh, the places we will go!
Gonna make this quick, but hopefully I will cover everything. Probably won't do it justice. Sorry Anita.
Starting at the new...
Mauro finally gets to talk to Juliana. He asks her to come to Chiapas. Bring Mauro and don't let anyone know what's going on.
Jorge and Caro discuss sharing the latest info with Max. Jorge's phone rings. It's a lawyer from Panama (Note the desk flag if you don't believe me or her.) During the episode, we learn that Jorge has some inheritance waiting for him in Panama and it's urgent he come. He has no family in Panama, so why doesn't anyone get suspicious? Feels a little scammy to me. Anyway. He spends the rest of the episode getting ready to go and explaining to everyone why he's going. He calls Juli and tells her about the footage showing Cesar leaving 5 minutes after Max. She asks him to tell Max and Amaya.
Licenciado Iriarte comes to visit Max and explains that he was hired by Mauro. Mauro didn't trust the lawyer Cesar hired. Iriarte leaves his card with Max.
Vale is sad and wants to stay in Hor's apartment. Amaya explains that the police are still investigating (have they found the damn laptop yet???) Vale wants at least a picture of him. Amaya will talk to the comandante so Vale can go in and get what she wants.
Eloisa arrives right after Juli hangs up wiht Jorge (see above.) Juli explains about her trip. She tells Eloisa that she really can't say anything more, but she assures Eloisa that it is for something very, very good.
Cecy and Ivan arrive in the DF. They're in a suite with two separate rooms. She has business and he is going to make an "appointment" with the doctor. She excuses herself and goes to the bedroom to text Uli. They are in the DF. Put the plan in motion! Uli wants to get paid first. He wants a fortune...in cash, so Cecy will have to sell some of her shares, move some things around. It may take a day. She calls her money person-Aracely. Ivan is listening at the door. He assumes Cecy is texting Uli. He must get Cecy's phone!
Amaya and Caro discuss Vale. Amaya tried to explain that Max didn't kill Hor, but Vale still has doubts. Caro tells Amaya about the security camera footage. Amaya thinks this confirms that Cesar was the killer. Caro thinks they need more proof and asks Amaya if her old building had security cameras, or if the neighboring buildings did. They may show that Cesar entered the building after Max.
Jorge visits Max in jail. He's already checked and Hor's building didn't have cameras. But the neighboring buildings did. The lawyer needs to request a search warrant from the authorities to get the tapes. Max tells him about the new lawyer and gives Jorge his card. He tells Jorge to talk freely with the new lawyer and to share the suspicion that Cesar is the killer.
Cesar tells the secretary to take his things out of the office. Specifically a boat in a bottle (explícamelo porfis...what's so important about the boat?) He informs her that he will be moving into his dad's office now that he's president. She dares to speak and mentions the fact that Don Mauro hasn't been officially declared dead. Cesar shuts her up and tells her to follow orders. Also, lock up Max's office. No one can go in there without his express permission. She leaves and he defaces a family picture of Max and monologues. It was so easy to get rid of you Max. Who knew your love for Amaya would be my ally? All he has to do now is get his slimy hands on Zona Estrella!
Ugh. Flavia's classist friend can't believe Flavia might be interested in a peon. Flavia points out that her relationships with the the "right" kind of guys didn't work out and Heriberto makes her feel appreciated. Luckily Flavia doesn't give a hoot about what people think. Go girl. You've turned into my favorite character (now head over to Amores con trampa and give Rocio a talking to.)
Meanwhile at El P cute assistant to Chelo who's name escapes me tells Heriberto to go for it! Win Flavia over!
Caro and Jorge discuss "the case" and have the closure to our relationship/now it's just professional conversation. Um..that guy, what's his name? The camera dude? Anyway he's overheard the tail end of the conversation and makes some comment about being friends with her ex. He asks if she's ready for a new relationship. She thinks she is. No, wait. She's SURE she is.
Cons cries to Nora. She's alone. Wah!! She has no place to stay. Wah! Nora suggests Cons move into the apartment Mauro bought her before the wedding. Cons doesn't like that idea. Nora convinces Cons to come live with her.
Mariana tries to comfort Vale. One day she will get used to her father being gone. Vale tells her she'll never get used to it. Mariana prays that God help them. How much more can happen to them?
Cecy and Ivan at the food court (which gives me the giggles for some reason.) He stalls about the doctor appointment. She talks him into seeing a play that night. She excuses her self to go the the bathroom. Ivan gets her phone and manages to figure out the code. He sees the texts she and Uli shared.
:D
Nina
So should Nora. What is she thinking? She knows her friend is a leech! She should really be friends with Flavia instead. let Cons move in with Flavia's snobby friend.
I though Cesar was in Mauro's office looking at all his tchotchkes and demanding that the secretary get Mauro's stuff out. Toss it in a box or something, because he wants to move into the big office. Mauro is going to be so pissed (on top of all the lies and murders of course).
For a quick recap, that was pretty darned good. Now I'm hungry for food court food.
kelly
Photog guy tries to convince Uli to give up his dreams of Mariana and leave the country. Uli does not give up. He will have Mariana!
Juli and Mauricio (crap, my mistake in part 1. I'm sure it will get clarified in comments) arrive at the clinic. They both note Dr Linares's resemblance to a young Don Mauro. Linares says Max and Amaya have said something similar. He takes them in to see Mauro.
Cons (wearing an unfortunately patterned maternity blouse) is leaving MM, but first she has to tell Cesar all about the loan her father has made to Max to but the cafe gourmeT. And yes Amaya knew about it. Shut up Cons.
Cesar confronts Amaya about the loan. When asked why she didn't tell him, she tells him it was obvious that Cesar didn't give a flip about the project. She leaves and Cesar swears to take everything from her.
Max in jail. He wonders what will happen to his child and his siblings if he doesn't get out. One by one Cesar will push them out.
Juli tearfully tells her father she never gave up hope. Mauricio confesses that he did. BFF my left foot! Mauro asks about everyone. Juli says everyone is fine and to just concentrate on getting well. Mauro doesn't want them to reveal he's been found. He wants to go home and reveal Lucrecia and HER son's nefarious deeds. Juli asks "Her son?" Mauro explains that Cesar is Omar's son. Not his. Juli cites the DNA test. Mauro knows about it and is convinced that Lu and Cesar must have done something to tamper with the results.
Cesar and Lu freak out over the 3 in 1 project. Lu thinks Cesar can stop the project since he's the president. He explains it's an independent project. Even burning the ZE Max and Amaya are still getting their way! ZE will be his for better or for worse.
Mauro continues to explain that Lu deceived him. And that she confessed all before he had his heart attack. She was sure he was going to die and wouldn't be seen again. Mauricio thinks this will be hard on Cesar. Mauro explains Cesar already knows. And Juli's suspicions that Lu killed Omar are correct. But her days are numbered.
Cecy and Ivan return to the hotel. Hector calls and wrangles the hotel info out of Ivan. Hector is going to call the police.
Cesar gives Amaya for not fulfilling her duty as wife. She reminds him that they only married to distance her from Max. Well he and Cons don't even live in the MM anymore, so cut the crap. The marriage was a sham and it's over. She wants a divorce!
Dr. Linares interrupts the chat. It will be a few days before Mauro can leave. Maruo is a little disappointed. He wants to leave as soon as possible so he can take care of Lu. Mauro explains that Linares already knows. After a few questions, Linares realizes that Lu and the woman who wanted him dead are probably one and the same. Linares explains he would like to desenmascarar a Lu too. He tells his story...ending by telling Mauro that he is the son of Florenica and Mauro!
Kelly
MAURO wants Juli to come to Chiapas with MAURICIO.
The names are too similar.
NOw off to watch Sombra and get that recap done.

Thank you immensely!
You are a trooper !! Double Viewing and Double Recaps!!! I don't know how you do it.
Are you completely fluent in Spanish and do you speak it often with friends other than teaching the subject?
You are dedicated to the TN's and to the language. Your students are lucky to have you.
All the best,
1.) Flavia telling her buji friend to STUFF IT! YOU GO GIRL :)
2.) Cesar wasting no time in moving into the big office as the president of the Nescafe company. Plus, telling the secretary to shut up was NOT nice!
Enjoy your ego trip Cesar because your judgment day is coming!
3.) Costanzia is getting on my DAMN NERVES! She blabs & whines like Araceli Cosby on Hasta El Fin Del Mundo.
4.) Hoping Ivan doesn't get drugged by Cecy Goldilocks....just saying.
5.) Cesar threatening to take everything from Amaya. What's he going to do? Kill her & make Vale an orphan?
I want to reach my hands in the TV & choke the living daylights out of the DEVIL INCARNATE !
6.) Jorge's getting scammed. I'm hoping he figures this out before its too late!
Sara, great recap of today's episode!
I'm worried about the Panama inheritance. Maybe the actor had something to do and they just made that up at the last minute? Weird!
Yes! Amaya is going to be instrumental in getting the cops to look at the laptop. Maybe they'll even think it's not instrumental in the investigation and let Vale take it because there are pictures of him on it?!
Juli might as well have come out and told Elo but if Elo caught on, she didn't let on!
She dares to speak and mentions the fact that Don Mauro hasn't been officially declared dead. I can just imagine that all the Secretaries in Nescafe, especially those who work anywhere near Cesar are just absolutely sick about Emperor Cesar taking the helm!
"Cute assistant to Chelo" is Hortensia or Hydrangea as Kelly decided to name her, Chelo's daughter!
Camera dude's name is Dario!
Cecy and Ivan at the food court (which gives me the giggles for some reason.) It seems funny to me because it's like a cheap, hell free, ready made set and so like somewhere I would go!
Uli, just off yourself, scumbag!
Sara, the person who went with Juli to the clinic is Manuel, Jose without an accent's father.
Cesar and Lu freak out over the 3 in 1 project. See, this is why I was surprised at her distress over Max's being in prison. She's probably more concerned about the impact on her and the Montesino name than Max per se.
Yaaaaay for Hector calling the Police! We beseech the telenovela powers that be to let them not be keystone cops!
Back later!
Nora also told Connie that she needs to learn how to be independent, which is great advice. But she's also taking her in, so that's not really helping her be independent. Well, maybe helping her be less dependent on men.
There are still more dramatic, emotion-packed moments ahead. I hope Dr. Marco has Mauro on some good medicine because it's going to be impossible for him to avoid strong emotions and stress the way the TN Docs always advise heart patients! Oh, it's going to be riveting to see this unfold!
Nina
I used to teach my students about Dramatic Irony - where the readers or viewers know more than the characters in the book or in the play.
This TN is loaded with that type of irony, and it is great fun to see it all gradually being revealed.
I do not agree with Mauro's decision to keep this critical information secret. We know the good guys can be trusted, and they need to have this info in their possession for their well being
in several ways. Mauro is out of the loop with all the events that have enfolded. Knowledge is Power.
However, writers may want to make Jorge independently wealthy so that he can be a better match for Juliana.
Or maybe, he is inheriting children
from some source.
Intriguing?
With his fragile heart, I guess it will all work out. We've got two more exciting days this week to see how it pans out.
G'night, Nina and all (feels like I'm on the Waltons), see y'all in the morning!
;D
For really this time
Ya'll. :-)
Nina
I also was very suspicious of Jorge's inheritance. If anyone has any reason for hurting him, it's Cesar--but it would be to hurt Juli if he never comes back. I prefer the intriguing idea of his inheriting some children!!!
We've been talking about Consta's future--without Max, all lonely and woe is me stuff. Maybe she and Nora will like living together, be more than just roommates and raise baby Max together. That would be novel, wouldn't it?
Uli in effect said to PhotoGuy that it was worth losing the finca and all his money if he can have Mariana. If he can't have Mariana, his life isn't worth anything. Hmmmm. Is he hoisting his own anvil?
That scene in the hospital made me choke up to the point I had tears. Very emotional.
See you all in the morning light. Chau.
I would love to read your book so please put me on your email list ;-)
So glad I will get to see today's episode as it airs!
Anita, I like the sound of Uli hoisting his own anvil! It has a nice ring to it and I think he has telesgraphed his end to us. I just hope it's sooner rather than later. No spoiling Mariana's and our joy on the finale!
Had to do a little editing. Yes, Sara, I think Hector calling the Police is going to end up being a life saver! Ivan has no idea how desperate Uli is and he would kill Ivan, or anyone else in the blink of an eye. It might end up being suicide by Police!
This TN has highlighted some
wonderful friendships:
Mauro & Manuel
Amaya & Caro
Max & Jorge
Connie & Nora
I was thinking that Nora has earned enough lifetime credit that she could earn a degree in counseling. She has consistently come up with sound ideas to assist her pal. A high school friend of mine never went to college, but
eventually she earned lifetime credit to enroll in a Master's degree program which she completed.
The TN has also highlighted bad mothers and bad fathers. Both Mariana and Vale had the worst of fathers. Mariana knows the horrible truth, but Vale is too young to understand the truth and may never know it.
Now, let's get the show on the road and empower the good guys.
All the best .......
Great observation!
Constanza made a strange remark a few episodes back when she said that she "would give her life".........
....if she and Salvador could have made it as a couple...Or something to that effect. Awfully strong language in reference to a guy she doesn't really care about.
Does anyone have any more insight into that remark?
Many thanks
It felt a lot like foreshadowing to me so I bolded the statement.
At least Hector shared that he wants the police alerted and to keep an eye on Ivan, but not to surround the place like a swat team--they are to be discrete. But I agree, for the police to at least have some advance knowledge will be helpful to trapping Uli--if he doesn't prove as slippery as he has been. I can see him killing Ivan without blinking an eye and throwing Cecy under the bus. Well, maybe not the Cecy part because she is his cash cow (apt, no?).
Floridia--I also liked your observations on friendships.
#Interesting that Cesar has NO friends, only people he can dominate and manipulate.
#Uli is a younger carbon copy of Cesar.
#Horacio had no friends.
#Luce's only "friend" seemed to be Emma and she killed her.
#Cecy had no friends.
#Even Mariana had her confidant at the beginning (and she sort of faded when Ivan came into view).
#Vale and Alan have formed a close friendship.
#Twins Flavia and Lucio have always been tight, even though they are siblings. Lucio makes friends easily. Flavia has her snobby friend, though I think that relationship will fade.
#Sal actually had a friend--the one who got him his job in Tuxtla and look what he did to him--walked out on his job.
#Eloisa had no confidant, but was busy concentrating on raising all those kids and the special care of Lucio. Finally, when Juliana came back, they formed a nice bond over their problems with Lucrecia.
OT Floridia--Do share your book with me also (you can e-mail me from my blog profile). I am a product of D.C. public schools, back when they actually provided first rate educations. (I think I turned out ok.) My children are products of MD public schools, albeit excellent ones (they turned out better than I did), and my grandchildren are products of MA public schools (one is a recent graduate and the other will be graduating). Their parents moved into an area that had excellent public schools, stretching their income at the time. I am really curious about your advice!!!
If you have not heard "Somos Novios, it is worth checking out on youtube. He is shown singing it when he was a young man. When it was transformed into the English song, "It's Impossible, he was robbed of his copyright royalites.
He was a mentor to José José.
His work has been performed by singers such as Tito Rodriguez, Frank Sinatra, Andrea Bocelli, Raquel Bitton Tony Bennett, Elvis Presley, Alejandro Fernández, Luis Miguel, Franck Pourcel, Paul Mauriat, Ray Conniff, María Martha Serra Lima, Mina, Raphael, Roberto Carlos, Christina Aguilera, Manoella Torres, Marco Antonio Muñiz, Angelica Maria, José José, Tania Libertad, Lucero, Cristian Castro, and Il Divo, as well as with pianist Raúl di Blasio and others.
Manzanero has composed more than four hundred songs, fifty of which have given him international fame. He has participated in numerous radio and television shows, recorded more than thirty albums, and composed the musical scores of several movies. During the fifty years of his musical career, Manzanero has given performances all over Latin America, particularly in São Paulo (Brazil), Buenos Aires (Argentina), El Metropolitan (Mexico), the Teresa Carreño Theater of Caracas (Venezuela), Madison Square Garden (New York), and many other prestigious cities of Europe and Asia.[5]
His most famous songs include Voy a apagar la luz (I'm Going to Turn Off the Lights), Contigo Aprendí ( With you I Learnt... ), Adoro (I Adore), No sé tú (I don't know if you...), Por Debajo de la Mesa (Underneath the Table) Esta Tarde Vi Llover (English version "Yesterday I Heard the Rain"), Somos Novios (English version "It's Impossible"), Felicidad (Happiness) and Nada Personal (Nothing Personal).
More to the point, he wrote "Quiero Amarte. " He sings with a distinctly poignant touch.
He and Eric de Castillo are two of the most prominent performers working to make copyright issues uniform and fair.

I wrote something very superficial on the blog, and you turned it into an in depth analysis. Well done.
I'll let you know by email when the book is on Amazon. Right now, I am learning the ropes on how to get it there. My book is dedicated to the majority of good teachers in place, but it advises parents and students how to deal with bad teachers who are always out there.
It is a personal memoir with ABSOLUTELY NO SEX, so I don't know how it will do in the market place.
By the way, Anita, weren't you in charge of the FLEA MARKET in Amores Verdaderos? As I recall, you worked hard on this fictional
exchange.
All the best ...
Here is #4 - About Adriana and the Rocks:
http://caraycaray.blogspot.com/2013/07/amores-verdaderos-extra-el-clamor.html
I thought that sounded familiar! What a shame! What a crime!
Anita, thank you for that entry on Armando Manzanero! He's a Superstar and a National Treasure!
No. 1 had NovelaMaven's interviews with Royero and Balzac (the dog) and yes, we had Meta*Mart going and Diana, Goddess of Wisdom collected works
http://caraycaray.blogspot.com/2013/06/amores-verdaderos-extra-el-clamor.html
No. 2 had The "prepositions" of Sex and who ate what kind of breakfast--NovelaMaven's Advice Column, Patio Tables and rifs on Escaleracide (one for Sara's list)
http://caraycaray.blogspot.com/2013/06/amores-verdaderos-extra-el-clamor_9.html
No. 3 had more Patio Chatter and another of NovelaMaven's advice column and the famous dictionary definition of FATS (reproduced below)
http://caraycaray.blogspot.com/2013/06/amores-verdaderos-extra-el-clamor_24.html
Dictionary Corner (Lest we Forget)
FATS, n. = A type of face/lip melding, often misinterpreted as a kiss; popularized on Mexican telenovelas. See attached essay by NovelaMaven for a full description.
That wasn't a kiss, it was a Face Attack, Telenovela Style [FATS]. Face Attacks happen when:
Person A (here Jocelyn**) rushes at Person B (Jose Angel**), lips puckered
Person B never sees it coming and can't step aside in time.
Lip contact is Brief, Unreciprocated and Rapidly Terminated by person B.
Person C witnesses only the Lip Contact Phase, not the Rushing At nor the Rapid Termination.
FATS are all about Person C's reaction. What makes this particular one funny is that Person C (Miss Vikki) has no right to HAVE a reaction. In fact, she can't even admit that she was there. But she WILL have to come to terms with her own jealousy.
**Jocelyn and José Angel were recently replaced by A) Lili and B) Frankie with Nikki playing Person C; earlier in tn we also had a scene where A) Nelson FATS’d B) Vikki with Arriaga playing Person C.
NOWADAYS--We've seen a lot of telenovelas since then. I'll bet there has been at least one instance of FATS in every single one.
Hadn't considered Jose inheriting children, but I like it. Clears up the Juliana's whole "but what if you decide you want a kid" issue with her and Jorge. Check that box off the list. Problem solved.
Kelly
Floridia, thank you for those details on the remarkable talent and career of Armando Manzanero!
Thanks for the correction, Anita!
My goodness! I'm glad I didn't know about your writing prowess when I joined the recap team: I'd a been right scared! You guys are Powerhouses!
;D
Nina
1. He was perfectly fine with Alan.
2. He had a vasectomy, pretty much says that having a child que lleva su sangre is not that important to him.
3. Just like you don't have to birth a child to be the mother, you don't have to be the sperm donor to be a dad. This idea that they have to give Jorge a child of his own to "solve" the problem of Juli not being able to have children rubs me the wrong way. My husband is not my daughters bio-dad, but he is her father and does not regret AT ALL that we didn't have a child together.
On the "Good Parent" side, Delores helped to more than balance out the neglect of Cip and contribute to her growing into the fine person she turned out to be.
Yes, thank God for good parents!
It is still so odd to root for Juli in the afternoon and hate Cande in the evening. :)
Good conversation, lots of thoughts, but I will wait for Ms. Vivi to get her recap up.
:)
Nina.
Kelly
As for Amaya: so glad she had Florencia's good ways & not her evil father's wickedness.
“Tú eres mi hijo?” Are the first words out of Mauro’s mouth after Dr. Marco Antonio Linares’ confesses that he is the thought-dead son of Mauro and Florencia. Marco pulls out proof, in the form of a DNA test he had conducted on Mauro and himself, and hands it to Manuel who nods his head in the affirmative while smiling at his BFF. (Not like a DNA test was needed to prove what they all could see with their own eyes.) A gigantic smile spreads across the faces of Juli and Mauro, and Mauro utters that this is incredible, and states to all present that Marco is the result of his great love for Florencia. Juli is the first to take action, and takes Marco, her new brother, into a happy embrace. As his two eldest children embrace, happy tears stream down Mauro’s face and he thanks Marco’s adoptive mother for what she did.
King Cesar refuses to grant Amaya a divorce. Amaya reminds him she can get an express divorce, just like she did with Hor. Cesar doesn’t like the comparison. Amaya doesn’t give a damn what he does or says—he can say HE left her—but she’s getting the hell out of this house!
Mauro, now looking like he’s in cardiac distress, talks of the thought-dead baby he didn’t know about until after he had married Lu. And how Lu tricked him into marriage and leaving Florencia, using another man’s baby (Cesar). He asks Marco to come to his side, and Marco worries that now was not the best time to tell him this news. Mauro assures him he’s well, and pulls his son into a hug and kiss. Marco marvels at all he’s gained—a papa and a bunch of siblings. Juli welcomes him to the family, and Mauro thanks him for giving him this gift, while tenderly stroking his face. Hugs!
Cesar tells Mommy Dearest about Amaya’s divorce demand. Lu is scared that if Amaya leaves it will be easier for Flor to get in contact with her. They focus on what Cesar’s next step should be—getting his hands on Zona Estrella. Cesar has to find the best way to pressure her. Lu thinks they can bribe a dirty lawyer to help them. Cesar swears that Flor will soon be dead, just like his papa.
Mariana thinks that Cesar is likely to demand the Zona Estrella in exchange for the divorce. Amaya says never. It’s Valeria’s inheritance. She’s going to terminate the contract of the renter of her house, pay the fine, and get the hell out of Monstersinos Manor and back into her own home.
Manuel points out the irony of Lu’s murder attempt on Mauro serving to reunite him with the son she tried to get rid of. Mauro wonders if he should thank her when he sees her. Marco addresses Mauro as Señor, but Mauro insists he call him by first name, if not Papa. Marco wants to know about Florencia, and Mauro has to break the sad news of Flor’s recently confirmed death. Manuel is also learning this for the first time, so Mauro tells him about Amaya’s investigations. Marco orders Mauro to rest, and the newly acquainted father and son share a few more tender moments before they all leave Mauro’s hospital room.
Once outside the room, Juli and Manuel quickly agree that it was best not to tell Mauro about Max being in jail. Juli tells Marco all about it.
LOL! Max’s tough looking cellmate has gone from listener to active participant in Max’s attempt to hash out his family and love life drama. He speaks of Amaya and the possible reasons she married his brother Cesar.
Juli calls Amaya. Amaya updates her on the divorce. Juli tells Amaya something awesome has happened, but she can’t tell her what. She needs to go see Manuel tomorrow, who will tell her everything about their new plan to unmask Cesar and Lu. Juli confirms that Manuel now knows everything. Juli can’t hold it in any longer and tells Amaya that Mauro is alive! While Amaya gets ready for bed later, she silently thanks God and smiles to herself. Mariana, puts a damper on this joyous moment by telling Amaya that Ulises is in D.F. and is sure to be planning something nefarious against her, Amaya, and Vale. Amaya tries to calm Mari’s fears by saying Uli was likely just bluffing about his plans to do them harm in order to intimidate Mari. She’s sure Ivan will soon get the info to help the police trap Uli.
Jose goes out late at night, despite his early surgery the next morning, and ignores his mother’s entreaties. She calls Manuel, who also tells her he’s not coming home. He had to go out of town for an emergency. He promises he will be at the hospital first thing in the morning for Jose’s surgery. Jose meets up with his loser friends. Seems he will be joining them in their street races…after his surgery to fix his face. I wonder if he’ll come out with more than a disfigured cheek after that stupid street race? Ojalá!
Marco speaks with Juli and Manuel about when to tell Mauro about Max. He recommends that they wait a bit longer for him to recuperate some more. They will continue to plot with Mauro tomorrow about the plan to bring Cesar and Lu down. Marco says they can count on him. Enough talk about liars, killers and murder. Juli wants to know all about her little brother. He shares the deets—married, with one daughter named Florencia. Juli knows Mauro will be over the moon to hear he named his daughter that. She matter of factly states that her dad loved her mom a lot, but his love for Florencia was magical. Manuel tells Marco about Little Flor’s cousin Alan, and the cousin on the way, his own grandchild.
Dario took the initiative to find Caro’s address, and delivers a bottle of wine and himself to her door. He says all the right things about her being an unforgettable pretty lady, and she lets him stay…
It’s morning at Monstersinos Manor, and Flavia and Eloisa have the bad luck of being the only ones around to have breakfast with Cesar and Lu. Cesar and Lu flippantly tell them they have to get used to the idea of Mauro being DEAD, and Cesar informs them that he’s asked the lawyer to set up a reading of Mauro’s will, TODAY. Elo and Flavia are shocked and indignant. What’s Cesar’s hurry?! Elo points out that they can’t read the will without Max. Cesar already spoke to the lawyer about that. Max being in jail nullifies his rights. What are they going to do? Wait 20 years until he gets out? Elo informs them that they still won’t be able to do it, because Juli is out of town. King Cesar demands that she return, because HE says so. “I am the successor to Mauro Montesinos.”
Flavia gets heated, but they are interrupted by Amaya, Mariana and Vale making an appearance. Amaya excuses the three of them from the conversation, pointing out that it’s a family affair. Cesar spits back that she is “still” a part of this family. Flavia picks up on this and asks what he means by “still?” Amaya and the girls are already out the door and Cesar avoids answering the question. Once out the door, Vale pleads with Amaya for them to get the heck out already. She is immediately cheered by Caro bringing the two little doggies back. Yay! Caro updates them on the dead-end with the security cameras in the apartment building and next steps.
Cesar calls Juli and demands her return. In front of Mauro she refuses and asks why he’s in such a darn hurry to read the will. She tells him she’ll inform him when she returns and hangs up on him. Ha! Too bad, so sad, Cesar. You can’t read the will. Flavia and Elo leave the dining table with satisfied smiles. Lu and Cesar speak about the crooked lawyer they plan to bribe to carry out their plans.
Dr. Marco gets cuddly with his wife, Angela, and updates her and his new family and family drama. Angela is a little worried about the danger, but is sure his papa will protect him. She agrees to bring Little Flor to meet her grandpa that afternoon.
Cecy heads off to see Ulises, and Ivan follows her secretly.
Caro and the good lawyer visit Max and tell him the bad news about the lack of security camera footage and lack of witnesses in the building. Caro apologizes for getting Max into this mess. Max does not think she’s at fault. He just wants an update on the 3-in-1 project. She shares the good news. The project lives, and Cesar won’t get his way!
Jorge meets the hot lawyer in Panama about his inheritance. She asks if he remembers a long ago booty call, Mireya Solis. He doesn’t. She hands him a letter. In the letter, now dead Mireya informs Jorge that there was a result from their one weekend of passion in Italy five years ago—a daughter named Alexa. (Those of you who guessed this are good!) She asks him to care for and protect Alexa. She knows Jorge is a good man and will do so. She thanks him for giving her such a wonderful gift. Jorge has to sit down from the shock.
Cesar and Lu meet with the dirty lawyer. Cesar wants to make an end run around Amaya and have the lawyer notarize documents ceding the Zona Estrella to Cesar. The crooked lawyer is happy to do it!
The arrival of Jose’s surgeon to update Geno and Manuel on how the surgery went, saves Manuel from having to explain where he was yesterday. Geno continues to be perplexed when Manuel delays going in to see Jose right away, in order to make a call to Amaya. Manuel and Amaya arrange to see each other later that evening. Amaya tells Manuel that they have to do something to keep Cesar from having the will read.
Meanwhile, Max is also telling Elo and Flavia that they can’t allow Cesar to do this. Elo tells Max he needs to talk to his lawyer and have him help delay the will reading.
Vale wants to go to the apartment and get her father’s things. They are all she will have left of him. Amaya tells her that her father will always be in her heart. She tells her to always remember that her father loved her, she was his pride and joy, his princess. Amaya kisses Vale and calls the detective right away to ask for permission to enter the apartment. He says he’ll see what he can do. Vale looks at a happy picture of herself and Hor on the cell phone. Amaya will have it printed out for Vale.
Cesar sits in his (Mauro’s) office and shuffles and mixes legit divorce papers with documents to cede Zona Estrella. He calls Amaya and demands that she come to his office right now to negotiate their divorce. Vale is fully on board with that. She doesn’t like Cesar or that Amaya is married to him. Let’s go now!
Mauro encourages Juli to go back to D.F. and continue their plans from there. Marco assures Juli that Mauro will be in his good hands. They have to let Cesar believe he’s WINNING!, until they put their plan into action, and Marco will play an important role in this. Juli and Marco agree.
Amaya comes into the office and eyes Cesar coldly. He says he will give her the divorce she demands, but he will not give her any of his assets. That’s fine with her. She wants NOTHING from him. He whips out the divorce papers he conveniently had his lawyer draw up. He encourages her to read the original, but to just go ahead and sign the subsequent copies. Amaya demands a pen to sign on the dotted line, and Cesar happily obliges as he looks over her shoulder, practically licking his chops. Don’t do it, Amaya!!
Nina
Manuel points out the irony of Lu’s murder attempt on Mauro serving to reunite him with the son she tried to get rid of. Mauro wonders if he should thank her when he sees her
Everyone looked horrified when Mauro said this and then he actually said it was a joke and chuckled! Good for him that he can see any humor at all in this situation!
LOL! Max’s tough looking cellmate has gone from listener to active participant in Max’s attempt to hash out his family and love life drama.
I love this cell mate guy! Who knows how many troubled souls he's helped over a rough patch! LOL indeed!
So glad Juli tells Amaya that Mauro is alive: she needed to know this! You could see the relief all over her face!
Uuuuuf! That useless Jose! What a pain in the ass he is! How did he turn out to be such a jerk? Peers?
LOVE that Caro is about to find true love! Dario seems to be so into Caro and she into him! Yaaaaay!
It’s morning at Monstersinos Manor, and Flavia and Eloisa have the bad luck of being the only ones around to have breakfast with Cesar and Lu.
Can y'all imagine the indigestion and other physical and emotional discomforts Lu and Cesar have caused in that family? And that doesn't even count the purposeful poisonings that Cesar and Lu have inflicted on Mauro and Juliana! They should burn the MM down or have the Curandera do a cleansing on the property after Cesar and Lu are in the can!
She asks if he remembers a long ago booty call, Mireya Solis
Hee hee! Ay, yi, yi. I hope Mireya (QEPD) was a nice woman, then the little cherub will sure to be sweet, and not a bad seed!
I predict that the investigators are not good enough to think the computer could be of any significance, Amaya and Vale get it and thus the indisputable evidence that Cesar is the killer!
ITA, Vivi! DON'T SIGN THE PAPERS, AMAYA!!!!
Amazingly, detailed recap and unbelievably fast! I don't know how you did it so soon after work.
I think I heard the lawyer say he was going to draw up the documents with blank spaces in them - presumably to be filled in after the fact. You are all so right. Ten cuidado, Amaya!
Nina
Floridia- Yep. There was all kinds of shady things the lawyer suggested, including notarizing the forms as if he witnessed the signatures. I hope that lawyer is found out and disbarred.
Lila- Yes, it was nice to see that Mauro could find something about the situation to laugh about. He has such a kind, happy spirit. Can't wait to see him meet little Florencia. His cup of joy will runneth over.
Thank you Sara for Weds recap
Thank you Vivi for Thurs recap
I got behind on watching and I don't like to read the recaps and comments till I've watched the show (or maybe during if I'm feeling impatient ) so I ended up reading all the recaps the same day - thought thanks would be better late than never.
I've been doing the happy dance all day and I teared up too during the Mauro& Marco scenes
Nina
Once again, I am glad cell mate guide is their to help Max talk and work through his family crisis. Max is such a hot head and so impulsive, maybe he needed some time when his movement was restricted, literally, to be able to think. Not only that, he needed some time and space away from Connie to think and reflect! Thank goodness for cell mate guy to help him through the process!
:D
DON'T SIGN THE PAPER AMAYA,
MOVE AWAAAAY FROM THE PIN!
NINA
Do NOT sign the papers Amaya, it's a dirty trick by King Cesar!
Hugs from Juli to Marco & Don Mauro AWWWWW :)
NOTEZ BIEN: When we reach 200 comments, we will move to "Newer -> Newest" page. Your postings will not be lost (at least we hope we don't start experiencing gringo's problem on Sombra).
Thanks for the Memories, the Links,
and the Dictionary.
I hate those FATS. I don't recall any in this TN, but we had the
misunderstood "happy family" breakfast observation
by Max early on.
Chat later ...
Getting the heck out of "Monstersinos Manor."
