Weekend Discussion Your Favorite Actors' Best Performances

This was suggested two weeks ago.  Pick your favorite actor and his best performance.  All character types are fair game; you can choose one of each.  I'll start.  I might add photos later from your entries in between catching up on the two big dramas currently airing.

My favorite alpha male protagonist is Jorge Salinas and his best performance ever was in La Que No Podia Amar.

Rogelio Montero wasn't an easy protagonist to like.  He suffered from depression and lashed out in anger at his fate.  Yet he paid his workers fairly, worked his ass off with them, and was ultimately capable of loving others. What he needed was a woman who wasn't afraid of him and a reason to fight for her love.  Despite his health crisis a third of the way into the series, Jorge Salinas is a total pro.  We got the whole gamut of emotions in this character although his moments of laughter were rare.  We didn't even mind that his entire wardrobe (except for the charro formal wedding suit) was a dozen of the same black shirts and trousers (or maybe I don't mind because I'm a New Yorker).

I have a tough time picking a favorite male villain actor, but I think that Enrique Rocha's best performance was in Las Vias del Amor, where he played a mob boss who fell in love with a virtuous woman.

Maybe because it was a departure from his usual gig as a controlling father, Rocha really delivered in this series when he daydreamed about being married to Letty and being a generous and loving stepfather to her teen children.  He trafficked in porn and even underage prostitution but without partaking himself.  He was very generous to Letty while courting her and after finally blackmailing her into marriage.  She was even eventually moved to say "If he weren't a criminal he'd be the perfect husband."

Name your faves.

This is a great discussion page and while I won't go into the length and descriptions you have, I can't wait to list my favorites. Give me today and maybe tomorrow mornin,g and I'll make my list with a great deal of enthusiasm. Of course, at the top will be FC, EY, and, MI, I can't even begin to come up with their best, they were all so great!!

I will definitely think about this some. My first thought was that I'm not even sure I have a favorite actor/actress.

Ok. I definitely don't have a favorite actor, but Marcelo Cordoba's Antolín (La fuerza del destino) is one of my all time favorite performances.

Urban great topic. My favorite TN actress is Adela Noriega and I haven't even seen Amor Real which is supposed to be one of her best. She played a scene in FELS (yes, the much maligned FELS) where Sophia finally agrees to listen to Juan's explanation of why he was in bed with another woman (she drugged him unconscious). I've seen similar scenes in other TNs, and the actresses listening silently to the explanation can't seem to convey much emotion without words. But when Adela did it, you could see in her face and in the catch in her breathing that she was filled with anxiety, fear, love, etc. I wish she would come back from her hiatus, with a good script of course.

Easy for me, Fernando Colungo in Amor Real.

Kate del Castillo in La reina del sur.

Fernando Colunga in Alborada...second favorite performance FC in Amor Real. However, I love Marcelo Cordoba , too, and I especially loved him in Alborada.

UA,
I am looking so forward to others favorites.

I will give my fave male: Ferdinand Valencia (he had me w ROBO.

Female: the late Lorena Riojas

I have to say honorable mentions to Rulli and Sergio G. Surprised that Sergio has grown on me. His humor is so natural, like one could have an enjoyable convo with him. Rulii is like a big candy treat. Yum!

Uuuyyy, where to start. Can't stop at just one. I'm afraid that my favorite actors also go with my favorite telenovelas. I'll start with the men.

Favorite Male Lead of All Time: FC in Alborada, Pasion and Amor Real. He looks so handsome and dashing--and authentic in period clothing. Who couldn't dream about being with him for all eternity.

Other favorite male actors and their novelas:
William Levy in Sortilegio
Jorge Salinas in La Que No Podia Amar
Marcelo Cordoba in Pasion and Sortilegio
Diego Olivera in Montecristo
Ernesto LaGuardia in Alborada David Ostrosky in Refugio (as Claudio Linares)
Mauricio Islas in Amor Real
Juan Soler in CME & Reina de Corazones
Erick Elias in PEAM (as Rogelio)
Brandon Peniche in Un Refugio (as Patricio)
Jose Elias Moreno in Quiero Amarte and excellent as a villain in Pasion and Amor Bravio
Cristian de la Fuente in Amor Bravio
Andres Garcia in El Privilegio de Amar (as Andres)

Up And Coming: Andres Mercado in QA (as Ivan)

This comment has been removed by the author.

Diana Bracho in all her villana roles

And see I cannot stand her in her villain roles. For me, her best role was as Leonora in Cuna de lobos. I think it may have been her only "nice" role.

Here is my list for the women:

Favorite Female Lead of All Time: Silvia Navarro in any drama--Cuando Me Enamoro, Amor Bravio, Montecristo and earlier ones

Other female actors and their novelas:
Helena Rojo in Amor Real and El Privilegio de Amar
Daniela Romo in Sortilegio and Alborada
Ana Brenda Contreras in La Que No Podia Amar and Sortilegio
Laura Flores in Refugio and Reina de Corazones
Jessica Coch in CME & Refugio
Natalia Esperon in Amores Verdaderos (as Adriana) and in La Esposa Virgen (as Blanca)
Diana Bracho in all her villana roles
Maria Elisa Camargo in PEAM (as Patricia)

Up and Coming Michelle Renaud in Sombra

My own new category: Best or Cutest Child Actor, male or female:
Alejandro Renaud in Alborada (Cute, as Rafael Manrique y Arrellano)
Alejandro Felipe in Amor Real (Cute as Manuel and Matilde’s little boy)
Carlos Hays in Montecristo (as Matias, Laura and Santiago's son)
Nicole Apollonio in Reina de Corazones (as Clara de Rosas, Reina and Nicolas’ daughter)
Maria Jose Mariscal in PEAM (as Valentina Garcia Hierro) and in MCET (as Sarai)

Ok, this is probably enough, but certainly not exhaustive for me (but maybe for the readers).

I wish I had edited the first post. David Ostrosky should have his own line. Perdoneme, David.

I would have included Adela Noriega, but after seeing her in several telenovelas, beginning with Maria Isabel and La Esposa Virgen, she began playing Adela Noriega rather than the character she was interpreting. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE watching her.

Sara--I apologize for deleting the list of female actors to make some "adjustments," so your comment is now ahead of what you were commenting on....

My list is only of MY favorite actors in MY favorite telenovelas, so that cuts it down to a very miniscule number of telenovelas and certainly does not represent the actors' complete body of work.

Oh and I didn't mean to sound as if I was disagreeing or arguing with you. It was more an observation on myself. The longer I am on Caray, the more I scratch my head about my tastes. :-)

All-time favorite male: Fernando Colunga in Alborada

All-time favorite female: Adela Noriega in El Privilegio de Amar

Honorable mention, male: Cesar Evora in El Privilegio
Sergio Goyri in Nina, Amada Mia
Cristian De La Fuente in Amor Bravio

Honorable mention, female: Silvia Navarro in Amor Bravio and CME
Yadhira Carrillo in La Otra

Loved Adela Noriego in Amor Real.

Hands down: Kate Del Castillo in LRDS and La Mentira also Silvia Navarro in Amor Bravio

Marcelo Cordova in LFDD and Jorge Salinas in LQNPA and Cristian De La Fuente in Amor Bravio- I'm having a moment here, I can't remember the name of the actor in Robo-Monte's brother? That character won me over!

(Cachito de Cielo)
Maite Perroni (Her most believable)
Azela Robinson (She did a 360 from "Fedra Curiel")
Sofia Castro (She did a 360 into Daffne Duck)
Esmeralda Pimentel (I feel she left Abismo de Pasion to go do this and I don't blame her one bit)

(Amor Bravio)
Silvia Navarro (Bravo!)
Leticia Calderon (Need I say more?)
The little girl who played Rene Strickler's daughter

(Para Volver a Amar)
Alejandra Barros
Magda Guzman (R.I.P)
Africa Zavala (Yorley :D)
Gabriela Zamora (Guendy from QPTR as a villana)

(La Malquerida)
Victoria Ruffo (Quoting Vivi, "Dignified and Lovely")
Africa Zavala (Saintly)
Sabine Moussier (Her best behaved since Ni Contigo, Ni Sin Ti)

(Alma de Hierro)
Angelique Boyer (Sandy :D)
Zuria Vega (Invincible)
Adamari Lopez (Psycho Bitch)
Blanca Guerra
Martha Julia (Big Jugs Patty)

(Tormenta en el Paraiso)
Mariana Seoane (Maura Duran)
Sara Maldonado (Fisticuffs)
Ingrid Martz (She reminded me of a mermaid)
Ursula Prats (Think YoMama from MCET 103 lbs lighter and with a bigger rap sheet)
Macaria (I just about enjoy her in anything)

(Amorcito Corazon)
Elizabeth Alvarez (How often does she get to be the lead?)
Africa Zavala (My brother once had a teacher named Sister Lucy)
Grettel Valdez (She did a 360 into Maria)

Eli-- He was Osvaldo Benavides as Dimitrio in Robo. I liked him a lot in LQNPA as Ana Paula's brother as Miguel.

Come to think of another one who gave a riveting performance and kept us all wondering in Robo--was he good, innocent or bad or lost his marbles, Luis Roberto Guzman in as Cabo Jose Luis. He was also terrific and believable as Diego, the really screwed up Conde de Guevara in Alborada.

NovellaLover--
Can you give us the titles of some of the novelas the late Lorena Riojas was in?

Corazon--Of the novelas that are on your list--I only followed one closely, Amor Bravio. The other one, sort of half-heartedly was Amorcito Corazon (I thought I would die seeing Diego Olivera again, after Montecristo, but he didn't come off as a father of three young girls and problems with women.)

Everyone talks about Para Volver a Amar in glowing terms whenever it's mentioned. I'm going to have to hunt it down. I missed it when it was rebroadcast (It was while using unreliable CDR and before an upgrade to almost always reliable DVR.)

Sara--It seems to me that the acting (coming from within the actor), direction, story AND producer has everything to do with how much I like the actor or the novela.

I loved William Levy in Sortilegio. I wondered what he was doing in TdA and couldn't help making fun of him as captain of a fishing boat in La Temp.

I loved Daniela Romo in Alborada and Sortilegio. I disliked her over the top performance in TdA and she was wasted in La Temp. It could have been anybody playing Mercedes.

I loved Eduardo Yanez in La Verdad Oculta and Amores Verdaderos, but thought he was over acting goofball in FELS (if he was supposed to be, then he did a good job). To Be Honest, I never saw him in Destilando Amor.

To continue--I loved Jorge Salinas in LQNPA but found him almost impossible to watch and like in Que Bonito Amor.

(Check out the producers--do you see my drift?)

I definitely see your drift Anita!

WOW you've really got a list going Urban. I haven't even been able to read the comments yet (QTPD and rewatch of Teresa marathons).

However, can't deny that it seems as if FC in Amor Real, Alborada, and Pasión win by a mile,

We can stop voting now

Oh, geez, Victoria, was this an election? One person one vote? I didn't read the rules. Drat. I go with FC "in the olden days."

My favorites are :
Leticia Calderon in her villiana roles especialy En Nombre Del Amor
Lisset in anything , i love her in La Sombra
Daniela Castro in Robo ( Death would be too easy for her so they even let her live)
Altair Jarabo in anything
Sergio Goyri in Soy Tu Duena and now Que Te Perdone Dios

Sergio Sendel in almost anything, his own appearence and hard looks are enough to scare you shitless much less his acting

Lucero in her villian role Barbara Greco and In Soy Tu Duena

Cesar Evora in Mundo De Fieras

I'll be back later with more men but-

(Llena de Amor)
Armando Araiza (He did a 360 from Carmelo Roura and hilarious that LdA came on right after Mi Pecado ended on Uni and I didn't recognize him. I just kept thinking, "that sexy cop looks sinisterly familiar.")

Oh yeah and i have to add Rogelio Guerra/Artemio Bravo from Manana rs Para Siempre . Mysterious ,demonic, perverse and abusive he singlehandedly alongside Lucero gifted the Elizalde"s family a complete infierno deluxe! Too bad his punishment was not that satisfying though.
I didnt watch it in complete though so i will have to watch this fantastic novela again alongside Mi Pecado but if only God gave me the time :(

UA, among live actors, i could not agree more with you.
I am watching the condensed dvd of LQNPA right these days so i have this scene which is cut in half in the condensed dvd. you have to go here in youtube to watch it complete.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiyH918GVWk
JS facial and body language at its best... and that is only one of his qualities...

the only other male actor i would watch in just about anything is Mau Islas (my favs are El Manantial and Los Plateados, even tho his short Amor Gitano is just as great).

Lus Roberto Guzman in Robo.

Brandon Peniche in Refugio was great. and his potential showed.

I agree that FC's best roles were in Alborada and Amor Real.

Jorge Enrique Abello would be the third i would have in my list with JSBLF (although i have not seen all of Por ella soy Eva, Costena y Cachaco). HE was villain in A corazon abierto. he did great in that role too.

In females, i have to start with Silvia Navarro in Cuando me enamoro.

Also Carolina Ramirez in La Pola and Kate del Castillo in La Mentira and Ana Maria Orozco in YSBLF.

for earlier novelas, i have to say Eduardo Palomo and Edith Gonzalez in Corazon Salvaje '93.

Fernando in Alborada
Kate del Castillo in la reina del sur

Honorable mentions go to
Lucero in most of her roles and
Jaime Camil in most of his

Sue in Miami

"To continue--I loved Jorge Salinas in LQNPA but found him almost impossible to watch and like in Que Bonito Amor."

I also loved Jorge Salinas as Rogelio. I think that is why I avoided Que Bonito Amor and MCET. I didn't want to tarnish that image I have of him.

I'm definitely one to follow a producer or writer rather than an actor. So while the cast of Lo Imperdonable looks great. I will not watch it because I have a pathological fear of Mejia now.

Same goes for anything Latoodle produces. I got burned by Corazon Indomable, and positively scorched by La Gata.

I like Lucero Suarez, so I will watch whatever she comes up with.

Rosy Ocampo is another producer I don't mind watching.

Jose Alberto Castro is someone I will follow as well.

I would put Nicandro Diaz on the list, but ...Hasta el fin del mundo.

But this is about actors. I think some producers can get great work out of actors (and the writers writing for them.) Others not so much.

No Anita
That was only meant as a joke. I checked the page out late last night and the only thing that knocked me over my head was FC & EY.
I'm glad to see people coming up with more than one favorite.
I'm having to go back to the table on the sidebar of Recommended Novelas as I've watched so many now, that I'm losing tract of who, what, where, and when.

Victoria--I knew it was a joke. It was 2 am and I should have been asleep--or I was asleep, when I thought I was being cute, tee hee.

Anita
'Para Volver a Amar' was absolutely fabulous, and it was one of the first novelas I watched during a rerun.it was also a sleeper novela for Los Premios, as it won several awards.

YouTube has all the episodes uploaded in a nice playlist by "Canal Montepríncipe". I'm watching 'Teresa'(Oh she's so cut-throat and a social climber and the video quality is almost as good as HDTV. And the uploader doesn't leave seconds of the song before and after a commercial break, so it doesn't get on your nerves. There might be a better upload by now since it was made a few years ago.

And each to his own taste or time constraints, but I would never watch an abridged version of a novela. I can't imagine missing one second of the storyline, let alone the ridiculous editting you're left with. IMHO

But it is good thing we aren't trying to take votes, that would be such a hard and time consuming task.!

This page is so great, I know alot of us are learning about some telenovelas for the first time that we are now adding them to our 'To Our Must Watch List'.

Looking at Corazon's list I have to add my vote for Maite in that. And Pedro Fernandez, too. I fell in love with him in that.

PVAA is definitely another great one. It should be required watching. ;-) And I only saw the DVD, so I can imagine how great the full thing is.

Oh yeah and i almost forgot Alberto Estrella ,he was faboulous in Entre En Amor y Odio . I didnt watch the novela but i watched some scenes of him , i also love his Skeletor Form in the novela ,its lappeared he took a hot bath in Hell itself!

I love Cesar Evora in almost anything he does. His character in La Esposa Virgen was too over the top so my feeling was that he did that for the paycheck. However, the performances by Jorge Salinas and Sergio Sendel were great.

CE is wonderful in EPDA and I was a little upset that he wasn't cast as the husband in TdA (although it seems as though it's Televisa Law that if he and Victoria Ruffo are in the same novela they have to be married to each other). His villain in Amor Bravio was one of his best yet because of the plausibility. Now that I'm binge-watching QTPD I'm constantly comparing Sergio Goyri to him from AMF and shaking my head here and there. I'm only up to ep 25, though.

Favorite villains
Diana Bracho
Guillermo Garcia Cantu
absolutely the only reason to watch FELS, Capricho was great also.

Favorite lunatic
Luis Roberto Guzman in Alborada

Thank you for the PVAA info on YouTube, Victoria. I've got it on my playlist and plan to watch after I finish my rewatch of Cuna de Lobos.

Urban

How about CE's acting in 'Mariana de la Noche' Is his lusting, slobbering, incestuous character palatable?

AMF was hard enough to get through.

Sara, what are you thinking of MaPat (LSdP's writer) so far?

Also, if you've ever seen any of the following, you've seen a MaPat production

-Piel de Otono
-El Nino Que Vino del Mar
-Ni Contigo, Ni Sin Ti (How often does Laura Carmine get to be the lead again? Also, sweet little Aida from Porque El Amor Manda was a super bitch here.)
-Juro Que Te Amo (Paty Navidad and Alejandro Avila were in this as the adult leads. This was a Carla Estrada re-make of Los Parientes Pobres BTW.)
-Luz Clarita (which I'm beginning to think Querida Enemiga was a re-make of.)
-De Pocas, Pocas Pulgas
-----------------------------
(Al Diablo con los Guapos)

Ricardo Margaleff (Rocky Morgan will always be remembered fondly)
Miguel Pizarro (Hawt Monkey Love)
Eugenio Siller (At face-value, he resembles Hercules.)
Fabian Robles (The way Rigoberto would pound Florencia around makes we wonder what if El Rubio would pound Acacia around.)

(En Nombre del Amor)

Sebastian Zurita (I know he was a galan and all but when he beat the tar tar sauce out of German, dragged him to the hospital, was further enraged by Romina and lastly about to throttle her to death which was impeded by the hospital peanut gallery, I cheered.)
Arturo Peniche (I've lost count of how many times he's been with Victoria and Leticia. The fact Vic's son played his son in QPTR is even funnier.)

(La Malquerida)

Alberto Estrella (Darn, I never tried watching Alma de Hierro right after La Malquerida. Anyways, I've asked it before but here it goes again for those that didn't see it; Which was worse? Entre el Amor y el Odio's Marcial Andrade or La Malquerida's Danilo Vargas?)
Osvaldo de Leon (It's going to be hard watching Lo Imperdonable.)
Gonzalo Pena (Carita de Nino)
Christian Meier (Hilarious, at one point I had Diego from Cosita Linda in the morning and Esteban on at night.)
Guillermo Garcia Cantu

(Para Volver a Amar)

Juan Carlos Barreto (I know Dominga from Robo and Candela from Sombra wouldn't tolerate any of that or his mother.)
Jesus Ochoa (Am I the only one who finds it weird he wins every Premio he's nominated for? Even the one representing Libre Para Amarte. Anyways, he was a douchebag nincompoop here but played it to the best of his ability.)

Cesar Evora in MdlN wasn't as bad as AMf; at least in one he died after showing remorse. As for La Esposa Virgen, el Loco Serenata was rather enthralling and I got a kick out of Aurelia (AV's Odioette) not asking for, but demanding he give her a limosna. As well as Fernando killing Pedro Medina.

In the case of YNCELH ever coming on Uni, I have a nickname for the main villainess Ursula Santibanez; Uglie Satan.

And am I the only one who has noticed that up until HEFDM, Roberto Ballesteros would play some deranged fool or corrupt cop? TGIF (Thank God It's Felix!)

While on my Esposa Virgen kick, who could forget this quote? "You're going to die but first, you're going to lose...your virginity!"

I love love LOVED GG Cantu in La Malquerida and since then I've been trying to watch his other novelas.

Also Sabine Moussier was never my favorite but again in La Malquerida..yikes.
Don't like her in QTPD though.

But I absolutely cannot get over El Cuerpo del Deseo and Lore Rojas & Mario Cimarro in the leads. Exellent jobs!

Do have to mention :

Barbara Mori as Rubi. Perfect villana/prota and gorgeous as well!

Daniela Castro in Mi Pecado as the lunatic mother (soon after played a similar lunatic mama in Robo, but I think in MP her role was definitely better).

EY in Amores Verdaderos. Have to admit I never liked him until that show (actually still watching it, almost at the finish line). He was so adorable and lovable and totally stole my heart.

I definitely have more but it's hard to remember. My favorite Cesar Evora role was in Abrazame muy Fuerte though. He was absolutely devilish and I have to admit he did a better role than Goyri..I love both!!

And last but not least Altair Jarabo and Ferdinando Valencia in anything (love them ever since ENDA)

Oh and forgot to add my telenovio Luis Geronimo Abreu in Un Esposo para Estela. 2010 show which La Mujer del Vendaval is based on.
The guy is just so sweet and romantic and oh my lord - his dimples!

I second or maybe third CorazonSalvaje on Maite Perroni in Cachito de Cielo being her best role to date
and Rocky is one of the most memorable characters from Al Diablo so Ricardo Margaleff did a great job there though he's not one of my favorite actors otherwise

and I agree w/Anita that Wm Levy was at his flirty best in Sortilego

and Juan Soler (who I don't know much about) was awesome as a villan in Reina (in fact everyone was great in that)
so then the entire cast of Reina de Corazones goes on my list

and CountAlaxcran is right, Altair Jarabo is good in everything I've seen her in -not enough
\
I prefer Marcelo Cordoba in Fuerza as the bad boy gone good(ish)

and the best thing I've seen Daniel Arenas in was Amorcito Corazon - he seems to do comedy better than drama

and two from one of my favorite tns now that nobody else is watching: Pedro Moreno in Cosita Linda is hilarious as a new rich naco
and Scarlet Gruber also in Cosita Linda is the most convincing pair of twins I've seen on tv
these two are both pretty new to tns but I hope to see more of them
oh wait- I just saw CorazonSalvaje saw it yay I'm not alone:)

also Maria Elisa Camargo in Otra Piel made that very slow show worth watching for me and is one of my new favorite actresses

oh and Valentin Lanus and Camila Sodi gave the best performances I've seen of them in Innocente de Ti

I'm sure I'll think of more as soon as I post, I've almost posted and thought of one more twice now and my not a robot thing keeps expiring.

ooh ooh TomBoy talking about dimples reminded me of
Osvaldo Rios in Zorro: La Espada y La Rosa -liked him so much in that then was so disappointed in Triunfo del Amor

and Renata Notni in Quiero Amarte - I hesitate to put this 'cause I think she is just going to get better and better with time, but she's already great in this challenging role

Favorite producer
Carla Estrada Amor Real, Alborada
Carlos Moreno Laguillo, Amor Bravio

I think we all have Mejiaitis, Sr. y Sra.

Sorry guys, I just went to pull up the Table on the Sidebar, and it has been edited and chopped by the Cookie Monster. It was probably my fault; I might not have locked it for editting.
I'll fix it tomorrow and get it back up.
So many people have mentioned great actors from Novelas I haven't seen, so I look forward to seeing their ranking by Viewerville.

Sneaky- I agree about Olegario (Pedro Moreno) from Cosita Linda. He's mega sexy in that show.

Also, Adrian diMonte (Santi) is convincing.

The twins confuse me but they are superb actresses.

CorazonSalvaje - yes Santi's good but so are so many on Cosita Linda

ya know for the first week there I thought there were three twins 'cause Ana Lorena looks so similar too

oh also Jencarlos Canela was good in Mas Sabe el Diablo

Sneaky two shoes

With his long hair and killer smile, JenCarlos Canela was an absolute stud in Mas Sabe el Diablo. And sings fantastic too. Later when I saw him with his hair cut and fixed in a pompadour with so much Brycream I thought flies might stick to it. Why are these guys ruining their gorgeous hair or covering their charming dimples with bear growth. ?

After watching MSED, I went back and watched Mi Corazón Insiste en Lola Volcan -- great, entertaining novella. Watch it sometime if you haven't already.

Well, for my top three, number one without a doubt would be Sylvia Pasquel as Isaura in 'Amarte es mi pecado'. A truly magnificent performance- absolutely hilarious(those lipstick-stained teeth!) while at the same time wholly and thoroughly amoral and wicked.

Numbers 2 and 3- Jacqueline Andere in 'La Otra', and Lupita Ferrer as Agata Mercenario
in 'Pecados ajenos' (apparently I have this thing for despotic female tyrants. I wonder what Freud would say???)

Great topic UA.

Eduardo Yanez in every role, especially Corazaon Salvaje and Amores Verdaderos.

Susana Gonzales in everything she has ever been in especially Pasion, Amores Verdaderos and La Sombra Del Pasado.

I loved Colunga in Pasion and the little I saw of Amor Real.

Agree with Niecie in that I miss Adela Noriega and also, Allison Lozz who was marvelous in El Nombre Del Amor.

The amazing Alberto Estrella in both Pasion and La Malquerida.

Daniela Castro in Mi Pecado.

Arturo Penice in El Nombre Del Amor and LM.

Fabian Robles in everything, especially as Rigoberto in el diablo con los guapos.

Diana

Jade Fraser in Por Siempre Mi Amor

Silvia Navarro in anything (but I've only seen her in Amor Bravio, Cuano Me Enamoro and Manana Es ParaSiempre. I loved her performances in that order, but it is incredibly close. Actually I started watching MCET, but I couldn't stomach it, so that's the one strike.)

Lucero in everything I've seen her in. MEPS was hard to watch, I definitely prefer her as the heroine. The first I saw her in is still my fave: MDET.

I think Daniela Romo is amazing. Her performance in Alborada was disturbing, but pretty riveting.

Leticia Calderon. Wow. I have been struck speechless by her villain roles. She really can make you hate a character. I can't decide between AB and ENDA, but after seeing her in them, I couldn't watch Esmeralda.

Jorge Salinas in MDET (I LOVED that TN). Gabriel Soto in AyR actually. So random, I know.

I also miss Ana Layevska and Kuno Becker.

Anita,

Sorry it took me so long to answer your question about what tn Lorena Riojas starred in.
I wanted to remember on my own because it was first tn I saw, and I thought she was just stunning. Mario Cimmaroni and Andres Garcia both had great chemistry with her. After watching that one, I just kept watching one or two at a time. I have read half the comments but wanted to post first, begore finishing reading the rest of the posts. There are so many older tn's that have been mentioned that I NEED to see.

Novella Lover

Thanks for your suggestions. Can't wait to start adding them to my 'Must Watch List'

I fell in love with Mario Cimarro during 'La Traición ' about two months ago. I hardly slept while watching. GREAT GREAT GREAT novela. Then, right away, I watched him in 'Pasión de Gavilanes', which was almost as good. I heard some people don't particularly care for him but I like his rugged good looks without that steroid body.

Alberto Estrella was so....perfect as a free'loving pirate and a perfect contrast to FC's more educated, cultured personality.
Pasión IMHO was every teenage girl's wish of a Prince on a shiny white horse (or big Pirate Ship )

It's terrible getting old, because the actors age with us and can imagine that getting good roles becomes harder and harder.

While on the topic of actors, what is up with this?

Sofia Castro and Pablo Lyle (CdC's young couple)
Sofia Castro and Pablo Lyle (PSMA's anti-couple)
Thelma Madrigal and Pablo Lyle (PSMA's young couple)
Thelma Madrigal and Pablo Lyle (LSdP's anti-couple)
Michelle Renaud and Pablo Lyle (LSdP's young LEAD couple)

Can we expect to see Pablo and Michelle together again a la Daffne and BonBon?

Fun Fact- Horacio Pancheri (as a young Rene Stickler) and Michelle were in El Color de la Pasion.

I can't delete it, but I at least reported it.

I have to agree that Colunga and Alberto Estrella in Pasion had amazing chemistry as the educated and the not so educated pirate. It was also my first novela with Marisol del Olmo and i loved her there.

Sara--Urban A can delete it permanently. She's the blog poster. I'll e-mail her.

Thanks Anita. This appears to be the same message as usual, but a different profile.

I'm going to second Ferdinando Valencia and Fabian Robles. I've see them both in a few things, and their ability to be any kind of character is impressive, especially when you see the same people over and over again playing similar types. That's not wrong, but the flexibility is more impressive. I'd be curious to see what Silvia Navarro could do with someone a little less good. Maybe being the villain would be too much for fans, but somewhere in between her usual good guy and Jessica Coch's usual bad guy would be interesting.

Kelly

Kelly , i would too love seeing Silvia Navarro in a bit of a temperish , mood - swinging mood since i have never seen my wish of William Levy turning villiano coming true ( I write to Santa Mejia every year to bring him back but he only gives me coal) !
What else could be a better than a predator with a sexy smile and a hot body?

I love Ferdinando Valencia he is good in anything, he was the very best thing from Robo! His fate was trully sad but most deserved :(

I want to see my true love Fernando Colunga as a villain. He is getting too old (except for me) to appear as a galan with such young females as is Yanez (even more so).
I think FC knows it. His comedy roles haven't worked out too well, I still love him though.
He could do roles like Cesar Evora, they were in a play together. Nobody does mad like FC, even with that beautiful face, just forget the botox.

Victoria - thanks, I will check that out 'cause Jencarlos is un guapo, but my resources are limited to broadcast tv and the DVD sets my library has.
My internet access isn't good enough to watch long shows

Victoria, thanks for letting me know about La Traicion w Mario. I gonna figure out how I can see that. Sounds awesome, if you couldn't sleep. I used do that w Doy ti Dueno, I would watch and watch, then I be feeling crappy the next dsy. I was like an addict.
Yes, ITA with you about actiors getting good parts as they age, unless of course you are Eric de Cadtllo, the late Julio Aleman, grntleman who was Acacias abuelo in La Malqda.

I feel like I am familiar w many of the
Sctors/actresses, but wow reading this
Project made me realize, there are
Tons of tn stars that I am not familiar with that sound amaxing. Kinda like do many great tn's, so little time.

Sorry about misspelling above, I had
Long day showing and selling pieces of Texas to some folks up east from MD. I love it, but I dont feel exhausted until its over and I Come home snd sit down. Then bam!*. i feel it then. Ha! Nothing a good shower, great salad and some good shut eye wont cure.
