Amores con Trampa #40 ... Facundo has taken over the company, even the company name and cut Santees salary to less than half... Also seems the homes Santee was trying to sell would not stand to the set of a town hall theater play, Facundo and Beto not happy about that...
Labels: Trampa
What a mental image. Thank you for the recap, Marta... And for getting up so quickly, too. My TV started acting screwy and turning itself off so I haven't gotten to see the episode yet. I'm so glad I had the recap. I need my Carmona fix!
back in the days i was a girl scout leader and active mom for my kids troops, they had an event where they DID make me eat/swallow a giant sour frog while i was blindfolded so i had no idea what they were putting in my mouth... so Maria's face reminded me of what that felt... except her problem was much worse than mine...
Interesting:
Grandpappy Porfirio at the party telling the dog that he was going to "echar perros" (put the moves on ) that girl. I felt so sorry for her getting stuck dancing with him. He was at his dirty old man best/worst/funniest?
Grandpappy deciding to take a break from romance, taking off his hat and trying to punch out Santiago; then wanting a duel to the death with him. (He was so drunk)
Santiago's entrance to the party as his upper class self criticizing the "fiestucha" as being vulgar and smelling of "garnachas" (fried street food), lard and (oh, no!) chorizo!!!!! Then he does not drink, tequila, pulque or mezcal. When he drinks, he drinks whiskey. (Made me think if the most interesting man in the world 2X
commercials)
Poor Santiago getting his salary cut by 60%.
Francis was trying to insult Carmen by asking Diego if he liked the "pigui". But how could that be an insult? :)
Santiago "waking"with a start in bed and after looking at Isabel saying that he thought he was having a nightmare about the mummies in Guanajuato.
Facundo and Santiago not "fitting" anywhere in the model home.
María not being adept at keeping her association with Santiago a secret. It was way too early for anyone to find out about it. I hope Granny does not "guilt her"into doing anything she does not want to do.
Jarifa
Porfirio dancing close with the young assistant was hard to watch. That poor girl.
My second time to wince came when Maria said she’d return to their bedroom if Facundo gave up the business. Yikes, Facundo nailed it on the head when he asked if she was turning into a manipulator like that Isa. He said he wanted Maria back in their bedroom only if she wanted to be with him, but not as a bargain. Poor Maria looked like she felt like 2 cents.
Facundo asking the showroom guy if he is the pilot – too funny. And the schtick of Facundo and Beto not fitting together through each doorway never got old with me.
So Facundo will spend a night in the showroom apartment to come up with ideas for turning it around. He changed the company name for ego, but it’s a good idea considering Grupo Velasco stood for shoddy workmanship. Santi may know about stock investments, but he didn’t respect customers so no wonder he didn't have any.
Yay, Doña Perpetua ambushed Maria with Santi! I’ve been giving Perpetua a hard time about her old school advice to Maria, but she’s got a good nose for smelling a rat. Hoping she’ll help Maria dig herself out this hole she’s sinking in with Santi.
Two people are going to be in BIG trouble when their betrayals are revealed- Maria and Diego- and I am not looking forward to it. Come clean before you're exposed, Maria and Diego!
Loved the whole fun sequence in the model house. LOL! I so want Fac and Beto to turn this business around, and they are taking steps towards that. They just need someone trustworthy on their side who knows construction. Not sure I would trust anyone working at the company, as they have gone along with Santi's shoddy construction instructions all this time.
Loved the cute visuals of Santi on the couch surrounded by his kids, and he and Isa playing musical chairs to be the one in the center. It would have made a nice family photo, if not for the bitter undertones.
I appreciate that Feli did not tell anyone else that it was supposedly Carmen who caused Francis to miscarry. That lie doesn't need to be spread. I also liked that Beto and Feli quickly put aside their family differences to speak about their concern for Rocio. By the way, last night while out, I saw two young pretty girls, dresses all goth and in black, in short skirts and high heeled boots, and I immediately thought of Rocio. That girl needs to find direction in her life. Doesn't matter if she and Beto are together or not. She can't go into self destruct mode because of a breakup.
I completely agree with you that Feli and Carmen shouldn't be end game!!
Finally found time to see the episode and loved it. Thank you again for the recap Marta. Maria's sour frog face was pretty bad. You are a trooper for letting girl scouts feed you things blindfolded. I bet you were a great troop leader and the girls loved you.
I kinda thought the young secretary was pleased to be dancing with the new boss's dad, too.
"Doesn't matter if she and Beto are together or not. She can't go into self destruct mode because of a breakup."
I don't feel like the self-destruct mode is because of Beto. I think she is just self-destructive (is that a word?) And now that she's back with Isa. That can't be helping. Isa is pushing Rocio's buttons so she can get Rocio committed.
I did sort of feel like Maria was being a little like Isa in trying to use her "charms" to get Facundo to do what she wanted. I didn't know how to feel about what he said to her, either. He seems very aware that Isa is manipulative yet he still seems attracted to her? It confused me (which isn't a surprise, I'm easily confused.)
Niecie, I also liked that Facundo laid it on the line with María and was not going to start negotiating sex.
Can't wait to see what happens next week!

Only time for a couple of comments. First, I give Feli credit for actually working while Beto seems to be just his dad's sounding board. Plus Feli has two jobs. Second, why isn't Beto at school? I though he was going to start.
Maybe this week?
Does anyone remember how Feli took the baby news? Was Carmen the one that broke things off because of the baby? Or was it mutual because of the baby?
I don't want Carmen running to Feli either. For now, Diego does seem to be the only person trying to be there for her. IMO, Feli has NEVER been strong enough about telling Franics to stop being mean. He should have gone off at that party when Carmen showed up in costumes...but he didn't. And Francis kept being mean. Feli always responded with "one more time and I'll break up with you..."
I wish they had made Feli, Francis, Carmen and Diego high-schoolers. Their behavior seems really childish for Uni students.
On the other hand, in the past Carmen did deliberately crash her car into Francis' empty car, so I can see why Feli might not believe Carmen.
Welcome, Evangeline!
I agree with Sara that Felipe is a nitwit to stay with Francis, but Carmen's not the best choice either. She's got some anger management problems. Besides the deliberate car crash (which could have given her whiplash), she's guilty of driving too fast through a parking lot.
For me, it was also hard to watch the assistant dancing with Porfirio. He's such a dirty old man. I don't think she liked the attention so much though. I think she was being a team player and distracting Porfirio to keep him from being disruptive.
Loved the scenes with Beto and Facundo trying to get through the doors at the model house at the same time. Looks like being under new management is going to turn the company around. Thank you, writers, for showing us how Facundo is going to make things better.
Nice to see you. I don't think we've watched a show together since PSMA. I hope you come join us and set a spell.
I hadn't thought about it, but now that you mention it if Carmen had been driving more slowly in the parking lot Francis wouldn't have been able to pull the fake accident trick.
I can't remember who, but it has been mentioned that Carmen is a little too quick to fly off the handle.
I also meant to say that I like that Facundo is going to try and make Grupo Carmona an honest business. I hope he turns Santi around, too.
Have I mentioned how much I love Ernesto Laguardia? I think I may have forgotten to this week.
Jarifa
You're so right, Eva-Margarito *is* the only sane one right now.
I do love Alejandra and her suffering breaks my heart, but like Vivi I have to put Susana a smidge higher than Ale on the maturity scale (just a smidge.)
I get Maria's jealously and I get her wanting to go home. As was said so well this week, she really hasn't made any new friends and she's still stuck in the kitchen. I don't like her being manipulative.
On the other hand, trying to talk to Facundo like an adult and telling him how she feels doesn't seem to be helping and she's seen Isa making headway with her husband. I sort of understand her change of tactics.
I feel like Isa is the more seflish one. She's being horrible to the children, trying to get Rocio put away and in the avances it looks like she is actively going after Facundo.
I don't think this will be super long. We are only about 20 episodes behind Mexico.
I really want the shawl business back. Every time there's a scene with Federick I want him to bring up the shawls.
When I wrote that synopsis back in March, I didn't think Amores con trampa posts would last past the first week.
I want to thank Jarifa and Marta again for all the work they are doing.
And thanks again to everyone who stops by to comment.
I love this show and I'm glad there are others who like it too.
Did you say sour FROG face?
That was such a great moment when the crowd was applauding Maria. I don't think anyone has ever shown her so much appreciation.
Now I sound like Isa. Faahcuuundooo.
I'm giving Facundo a break cause he is now staying away from Isa, though he did trigger this whole mess with his excessive gushing over her and disrespecting Maria's feelings about it. And I'm still ticked that he never told Maria that it was Isa that ratted her out about the fashion show in the first place.
One thing that worries me about Maria being in cahoots with Santi is that she doesn't get that Santi wants to destroy Facundo, not just save his (Santi's) marriage. Maria wants to save her marriage, but she's not about destroying Isa.
If Isa had half a brain, she could get that boutique to turn a nice profit and not even have to worry about Santi's money.
Maria is naive. I'd like to see her become a little more aware of the dark side of people... but not become cynical and bitter.
It would be good to see a suitor for Maria, but I worry about Fac's reaction to that.
But yeah, it would be so nice if someone could woo Maria and focus on her intelligence and talents, not just her culinary and laundry skills.

Have fun shopping! I hope you find some great deals.

I wonder if they had a short show planned in case of low ratings, but had a back up plan in case of success. Having a back up plan may mean we will have a quality product for the entire run.
I think the extension will be OK, too.
Filming on Antes Muerta que Lichita started today. That's the show that will replace Amores con trampa in Mexico. Univision has announced it will air here, too. I assume after Amores.
I don't know why it never occurred to me that they have to start filming these things so far in advance.
