Amores con trampa #41 and #42 5/25/15 and 5/26/15
I didn't think this show could make me happier, but tonight it did!!! There's a talking donkey.
You heard me. A talking donkey.
I think my life is complete.
I will be combining and possibly condensing scenes tonight. I'm doing 4 recaps this week. Gotta pace myself ;-)
And ¡Ay ay ay! Facundo was talking a mile minute tonight!
Perpetua catches Maria talking to Santiago and demands to know what she's doing with this caballero (which would mean gentleman….is it wasn't dripping with sarcasm). She calls her daughter "María de mis pecados" which cracks me up for some reason. Perpetua tries to drag Maria out, telling her daughter that she shouldn't have anything to do with Santi (ese gavilán...hawk.) Santi tries to explain that he and Maria are just trying to fix things. Perpetua doesn't have a thing to say to him. She dumps a flower vase on him. Santi's all wet.
Felipe is an even bigger nitwit in this episode. He's annoyingly attentive to Francis. It annoys me, no her. Francis is loving every minute of it. She's finally happy. She's got Feli and that rancherita can to hang out in her mud-puddle or whatever. Her two idiot minions with no self respect notice that Carmen just came into the cafe. Carmen has a surprise for Panchota….excuse me….Francisca. It's the surveillance tape from the parking lot. It proves that Francis threw herself in front of Carmen's car. Francis thinks Carmen is just trying to steal Feli again. Carmen tells her she's happy with Diego now, besides...Feli is whipped (mandilón.) She also tells Francis she didn't have to fake a pregnancy to keep her man. Carmen leaves the CD with Francis. When Carmen leaves Feli asks about the CD. Francis claims it's a video of when she had dark hair.
Isa is with Frederick Versánchez again. She orders very complicated "light" no-fat lattes and an antioxidant tea. Frederick confesses to her that he can't keep compulsively shopping. He left France because he had so many debts (in Euros.) Isa confesses that she shouldn't be shopping either. Her credit cards are all maxed out. Santi can't even imagine how much she's been spending. They have to do something. For Isa, shopping is the only way for her to forget the problems in her house. Frederick knows someplace they can go to solve their problem. This leads to the schtick du jour. Frederick takes her to a compulsive shoppers anonymous meeting. Isa wishes it was a nicer class of people. Isa introduces herself and Frederick reprimands her for using her real name. She introduces herself again as "Maria." She tells everyone how much she loves to shop. When she feels bad, she puts on a new outfit. In the midst of her rhapsody about clothes and shopping, she "outs" Frederick Versanchez. He's not so anonymous anymore either. She finally decides she doesn't need this therapy. She's happy as she is. She flounces out.
Perpetua has dragged Maria home. What is Maria thinking? If Facundo finds out she's in cahoots with Santi, he'll hit the roof (va a agarrar una muina.) Perpetua wonders if Maria is just trying to give Facundo a little payback because of Isa. Maria denies it tells her mother she's just trying to help Santi get his business back. Maria confesses to giving Santi info about the business. Perpetua doesn't like it at all. Santi is desperate to get his family and business back and Maria is desperate to get her old life in the country back. She just wants her family happy and she'll make a deal with the devil himself (el chamuco) if she has to.
Facundo tells his family about the shoddy houses Santi is selling. Fac is furious. Santi is cheating the working class with his crappy houses. Maria wants him to calm down, but Porfirio asks how he can be calm if the houses are worse than the stables in San Bartolo. Fac doesn't want the name Carmona attached to the project. He's going to fix it. Maria asks if he can't just resign. Fac is against it. Porfirio makes the comment "well, if the Pope can resign…." No. Fac is not going to resign. Beto comes in and tells Fac he has called the stock holders. Fac wants to call a meeting for that afternoon. Maria wonders if Santi was invited and Fac tells her he wasn't. Fac wants a supporter there. Not a traitor. Fac and Beto leave. Maria starts to dial Santi. Even after her mother tells her not to do it, Maria does it anyway. Kids. What are we gonna do with them?
At the gym, Estefy invites Maria to coffee.
The meeting of the shareholders begins. Santi walks in. Fac aks Esteban if he called Santi. Esteban assures him he did not. We now interrupt this programming for a message on business ethics spoken at a break-neck speed. Fac has called his meeting and he asks the shareholders if any of them have visited the show house. It's terrible. It's too small. The shower head is too low. They are asking people to go into to debt for 20 years for 40 flippin' square meters! (about 430 square feet.) Santi reminds him that they are not a social program, but a business and they are trying to make money. Facundo knows that. He's talked to the supplier. They will try to get lower cost materials...but still of good quality. And they'll talk to the architect, too. 'Cause he must have made these plans with his paws (patas.) Who was the architect anyway? Santi says it's him. This is one of his personal projects. He put a lot of hard work into the Bello Horizonte condominiums. Fac quips that Santi must have done it for free (de oquis) and that "ribondante" name...and Santi is quick to correct him...it's rimbombante (showy, ostentatious) name...whatever the name, the building is useless (no sirve para nada.) The walls are cardboard. None of the houses would last in an earthquake. Fac is going to spend the night in one of the houses. If they found so many flaws in a 5 minute visit, image the flaws he will find in an overnight stay.
Maria and Estefany continue their coffe talk. Estefy wants her to open up about her problems, but understands she's gun shy after what happened with Isa and Fac. Estefy is sure they will eventually be good friends...like sisters even. Isa interrupts and asks if she can join them. She ignores Maria's "no". Isa and Estefy call each other sluts. Estefy accuses Isa of stepping between her and Santi (interponer) and Isa says Santi never loved Estefy. Maria says she doesn't know what happened in the past, but she does know what's going on now. Fac loves her and her children. She won't allow Isa to step in. Isa informs her she already has. She gets up and leaves.
Isa works out on the exercise bike, listens to Joan Sebastian and engages in some introspection. She doesn't understand why she's being so horrible. She doesn't want to be a bad person. Her love for Fac has changed her. Then she starts thinking she needs to get Maria out of the picture. Yeah. I'm really believing she wants to be a better person. Oh, wait. I get it. If Fac and Maria aren't together, then Isa isn't a homewrecker. Whatever, Isa. She needs to hook Maria up with someone...she seesa trainer. She needs to hook Maria up with a trainer. What a great idea.
We cut to Santiago complaining about it being a terrible idea. Soon we realize that he's talking about Fac spending the night at the show house. Isa doesn't thinks it's such a stupid idea. The owner of the business want to do come quality control. She rightly guesses that it burns Santi up that Fac actually has some common sense. He's even a little innovating. Suddenly Isa gets another great idea.
Fac packs his bag for his slumber party. IMPORTANT: He decided not to take electronics since he doesn't know how to use them anyway. Maria is a little worried. What he going to do. Fac explains he's going to sleep, use the bathroom, take a shower. All the things you do when you live somewhere. Beto thought he was was coming too, but Fac informs him that he has to stay home. Beto is worried. The condos aren't in the greatest neighborhood. Maria worries about horse thieves. Fac kind of laughs at her. Beto will stay and protect the women and children. Maria still worries. Fac tells her not to worry. Nothing will happen. She allows him to kiss her hand...and that's it.
Diego brings Carmen home. He suggests going in the house and hiding out in her bedroom. Carmen is scandalized and says no. Diego doesn't push it (+1 for Diego.) He invites her to a party where Carmen can do some networking for her modeling. He accepts it when she says she probably won't be able to get permission from her parents (+1 for Diego.) He accepts on one condition...he wants a kiss. He isn't happy with a little peck, either. He wants a real kiss. He calls her "mi Yoyita" before he leaves. I like Carmen with Diego so much more than with Feli.
RPC( recapper's privilege card)-Facundo gets ready to leave. The scene took forever. You'd think he was going to the far-flung reaches of the earth. Important: he gives Maria the address of the model home...just in case she needs anything.
Isa is up to no good and Santi knows it. He asks where she's going in that coat and all dolled up. She makes up a crazy story about playing canasta with Pili, Blanche and Solange. Santi asks more questions than she expected and she makes up a story about Blanche's depressed daughter. Santi wonders how playing canasta with Pili and Solange is going to help Blanche's depressed daughter.
Facundo arrives at the show house with his gear and his shotgun. The lights work. Good. The water heater seems sound. Good. The kitchen? Well, it's small. Not much to do about that. The bed isn't half bad. He pulls out a framed picture of the family and puts it next to the bed. Then he hears a sound. He grabs the shotgun and goes to investigate. It's Isa!
RPC- Perpetua and Carmen talk Maria into surprising Fac at the show house. They encourage her to make up with Facundo. They will take care of the house and kids. Maria is super hesitant...but they finally convince her.
Fac asks Isa what she's doing there. She knew he was alone and needed to talk to him. He doesn't need anything from her, though. She has a surprise. She starts to unbutton her coat. And Fac begins to pray.
Beto drops Maria off at the show house and drives away. Maria really hopes this works and that they can head back to the country.
Meanwhile, Isa is telling Fac that she love she feels for him exceeds everything. She loves him! Maria walks in on this little scene. She's furious and Fac is cara de oh crap my wife!
Santi is on the phone with "LicenciadO Godinez." From the sounds Santi is making, I assume the Liceniado is making some racy comments. Conchita overhears. He sends besos and hangs up. Santi talks to himself about the delicious things he'd like to do with the Licenciado. But he interrupts his thoughts to say he needs to talk to Esteban. Esteban needs to cook the books. Sooner or later Facundo is going to ask for them. Conchita wonders how he can be so happy(?) I really didn't get her line.
Diego was glad that Carmen got permission to go out. Carmen explains that she took advantage of her parents being gone to go out with Diego (-1 for Carmen….that makes Diego look bad.) Carmen notices Rocio getting her drunk slut on over on the dancefloor. Diego goes to push the guys off Rocio and pull her away. She protests. Diego is NOT her boyfriend anymore. He agrees. He may not be her chavo anymore, but he's her friend and he's not going to stand by and watch Rocio destroy herself (+100 for Diego.) He knows she's just doing it because she fought with Beto. Rocio tells him to leave her alone and not to mention Beto. Diego gets frustrated and tells her to go ahead and destroy herself (-90 for Diego. He might win them back when we come back to this scene...but it won't be tonight.)
RPC-Maria asks if that's why Fac wanted to stay alone. So he could meet with Isa. Isa says she warned Maria- she gets what she wants. Fac swears nothing happened. Isa does what she wants, but she is mistaken when it comes to him. Maria chases Isa all over the show house. Fac protects Isa. QTH? No. Dude. Just no. (-100 for Facundo.) Facundo finally falls through a wall. He deserved it. Finally out of fear Isa tells Maria nothing has happened. But as Isa leaves, she says "yet." Maria cries that she can't trust Facundo and walks out. Facundo laments that all he wanted to do was build houses for the poor.
The best part!!! Jacinto talks to Tito, his friend the donkey. Poor Jacinto has checked encyclopedias and the internet and he can't find anything that can help a family that moved from the country to the city. The whole time Tito's "voice" is making these little eaty, grunty sounds. Squee! Oh but it gets better! Tito actually has lines! He tells Jacinto not to make him talk. Human problems are so complicated! Humans are more "burros" than the burros! Jacinto notes that it's almost as if Tito understands him and that it would be cool if all the animals could talk. Oh please oh please oh please let there be more talking animals.
Isa sneaks back in. Santi is asleep and snoring. Isa is relieved that Santi won't realize what happened in the show house. She hopes he never finds out. He grunts in his sleep, Isa jumps and says "it wasn't me!"
Maria is still mad and Facundo has followed her home. She asks if he has feelings for Isa. He swears that nothing happened. Isa came to him. She saw him. She approached him. She acted weird Maria tells Fac to shut up. If you are keeping track, Fac did NOT really answer the question.

Information we know
Isa stole Santi from Estefy a long time ago. Estefy wants revenge.
Esteban and Isa had a fling.
Esteban wants Isa for his own.
Esteban and Estefy are working together to break up Santi and Isa and to take Santi's money.
Santi and Isa worked together to blackmail Facundo.
Santi is scamming Facundo to get his money.
From Carvivilie: I think what Santi meant was that Fac was given a % of the company so if/when it goes down, he'll lose his money. Santi took Fac's money and put it into his new business and gave Fac a % of the doomed one.
Santi was a champion boxer at the university...though he seems susceptible to getting punched.
Estefy was once a waitress at "La Cabra Loca" in Monterrey.
Estefy also has a past with and actor. I can't remember where he's from now.
Isa has been violent with Santi in the past.
Mysteries
Maria overheard Isa on the phone. I can't remember exactly what Isa said, something like she doesn't regret anything she's done.
Conchita has also overheard a conversation from Isa:
From a recap: The sobrinos have no idea what happened...most importantly, Rocio doesn't know. Rocio will keep going to the psychologist and with some luck, she will be declared officially crazy. And that awful thing? It happened so long ago that no one will remember it. Only Isa will know about it and she will take it to the grave.
What were the circumstances surrounding Feli and Rocio now living with Santi and Isa?
Rocio's mother is dead. Rocio feels guilty. Why? How did her mother die?
Update: BOTH of Rocio’s parents are dead. But the why and how are still mysteries.
Why did Isa need Rocio out of the house "before a certain date"? And why is it more important that Rocio was turning 19 and not Felipe?
Who is Rocio's dad? Why does Isa consider him a good-for-nothing reprobate?
Why did Santi and Isa stop sleeping together 5 months ago? Possible reason: She had an affair with Esteban.
Santi claims to have been the Golden Gloves champ of Houston. Did he spend time in the states?
Loved your point system for the characters. Yes, Facundo keeps avoiding the question about his feelings for Isa, as usual. Maria isn't stupid and saw the look of temptation on his face. And once again protecting Isa from Maria. Has he learned nothing?
Fac is a dangerously stupid nitwit.
You said it well, Eva. Diego is changing for the good. I like that too.
It doesn't hurt that he has the cutest little face. :-)
Eva- hasn't Maria asked Fac before if he liked Isa? Didn't he avoid the question then too? I'm sure someone will remember. He needs to stop avoiding the question. It looks suspicious.
The Francis gang needs help with their pig imitations. They should pay Margarito to tutor them.
I loved Isabel singing along with and exercising to the theme song.
When Isabel told María she had already stepped in between her and Facundo, snakey Estefany actually smirked behind her hand.
What fun with them all chasing through the model home. Guess it was proof of how cheap the houses were when María was able to push Facundo through the wall.
Another satisfying episode!
Jarifa
Jarifa - considering their piggish behavior, you would the mean girl club would do better imitations, right? I guess Margarito could tutor them, but I bet he wouldn't want to be a part of meanness.
Definitely another satisfying episode!
IMO Facundo needs to continue to avoid giving Maria a direct answer cause the truth will hurt her. In his mind Isa is a high-class chick (his view, certainly not mine) of the type he's never experienced and she turns him on. His closing his eyes for Isa's surprise (I don't care that he was praying!) when he should've been throwing her a$$ out of there was enough said.
I was delighted when he fell through the wall and when Maria told him to just shut up! at the end. Looks like EY and Itatí do their own stunts.
Yay, Carmen called Feli whipped.
Boo, Diego offered Carmen booze. After the last time, she should stick with ginger ale.
Offers a drink (-1)
Accepts Carmen's refusal without argument (+10)
Yay to Carmen for getting a clue and putting Feli and Francis behind her!
Fac has definitely lost a lot of points with me. It seems inevitable that Fac and Isa will hookup at some point. I think Fac is lusting after her and is doing a poor job of resisting.
Santi with the plant on his head was hilarious. He looked like he knew he deserved it too.
Jarifa
I'm on the fence about what Facundo should say when Maria asks what he feels for Isa. Vivi, if he lied straight out that Isa means nothing to him, I wouldn't want Maria getting false security and going along with business as usual (laundry, cooking, Facundo rules).
After what just happened, seeing previews of Isa and Santi eating with Maria and Fac makes no sense to me. Plus, Isa is sitting right next to Maria. One can get up and move to another table.
The actor who plays Beto really looks like his dad.
I like how the hair stylists don’t smooth out Maria’s and Carmen’s hair when they are in bed. You can see the crimps where the braids were. Now if the makeup artists would only do what some TNs due and minimize the bedtime makeup—seems to me that’s what they did with SN in AB.
Another Where’s Waldo? moment. Saw the green VW in another country animation.
I kind of feel sorry for Isa (less since last night, I’ll admit). Something happened to her that seems to be causing her to fight herself and everyone around her. The big Rocio secret, I assume.
I’d really enjoy Isa trying to get Fac if it wasn’t for the fact that Fac is attracted to her and I think he gets off on the idea that a beautiful big city woman is into him. I also don’t think Maria’s constant whining and pushing him away are helping matters.
I think Fac protects Isa from Maria because he knows that if Maria was allowed to really wail on Isa, Isa would be pulverized. However, I agree it’s not making him look good in Maria’s eyes.
I might be in the minority, but didn’t like the talking burro. However, it may grow on me (sounded like the same voice they use for Margarito in the ads, though I’ll admit I’ve only watched those ads a couple of times, so I could be wrong). I did love Sara's enthusiam about it.
Nanette
I actually felt sorry for Santi when he was moved to the small office. I wonder if he would have cheated Fac to the extent he did if he didn’t have Isa’s expensive lifestyle to support.
Carvivlie: the fairy. Thank goodness they got rid of her!
Lots of thoughts about Maria too, but I'm on my phone and the comment page is really wonky.
I know I'm late but welcome to Evangelina!
Re: the discussion about the maturity of the college kids and the adults. It seems like—at least in the comedy TNs I’ve seen--the younger kids are always the most mature. Remember Lupita in DQTQ2?
OK. Just realized. Carmen Carmona. I guess it’s kind of lyrical.
I think, knowing macho Fac, he'll be furious. And hurt.
"...but no answers is just as hurtful as the truth."
I feel like they hurt even more. You can DEAL with the truth wants it's out. Otherwise it's just doubt and uncertainty and you can really plan a course of action with that.
Carvivilie said:
"Yay to Carmen for getting a clue and putting Feli and Francis behind her!"
Yes! Now lets hope that she keeps them there. ...
....Oh, this comment just came through from Nanette:
"I'm thinking that Carmen hasn't completely put Feli behind her. I thinking if he dumped Frances, she'd come running."
I think we're on the same page,Nanette!
Jarifa said:
"Watching yet another example of Facundo not dealing effectively with Isabel has changed my mind about Maria conspiring with Santiago."
And then Niecie said:
"I'm not mad about Maria conspiring with Santi anymore either."
I am not mad she's conspiring with him, but I am worried for her. Despite some of his good qualities, he is a snake when it comes to business. And really her collaboration with Santi is more about him getting his business back and less about his marriage. Which to my way of thinking means they are at cross purposes….and that could be dangerous.
Nanette and I must be reading the same book because her comment
"I think Fac protects Isa from Maria because he knows that if Maria was allowed to really wail on Isa, Isa would be pulverized. However, I agree it’s not making him look good in Maria’s eyes."
...was similar to my thoughts on the matter as well. I kind of griped about him protecting Isa in the recap, but when I really thought about it I realized Maria could whup the stew out of Isa.
About Tito the talking Burro:
Nanette wasn't sold, but she did like my enthusiasm. I couldn't explain why I was so excited about the burro until Carvivlie put it into words for me:
"Poor Jacinto doesn't seem to have any friends but the animals."
Very true. I think I was so glad that Jacinto felt that he was finally getting someone to listen. I don't think we necessarily have to get that from another human. I don't mind the talking animals if they are part of Jacinto's happiness. I don't want it to become goofy schtick though.
From Nanette:
"Sara: my turn to comment bomb."
Haha! Feel free to comment bomb away. :-)
I officially finished the school year today and I have 11 weeks of vacation in front of me. I'm really afraid I'm going to be annoying with my comment bombing. So as you see from this comment, I am trying to be a little more methodical and thought out. If I don't I will just be running onto the patio and blurting out random things like "Word!" and "Right on!" or worse, just busting out with maniacal "hahahahas". No one wants that kind of guest at their party. :-)
Eva and Nanette both mentioned my all time favorite child character: Lupita. That girl was awesome. All of us on the DQTQ2 patio wanted her to have her own show.
I feel like they hurt even more. You can DEAL with the truth once it's out. Otherwise, it's just doubt and uncertainty and you can't really plan a course of action with that.
Jarifa
Nanette- Awww. *blush* I feel the same way about watching a TN. A rollicking patio makes a show even more fun. Honestly, I feel like I should thank y'all every day. I am thrilled that someone wanted to watch with me! And to tell you the truth--I feel like my enthusiasm comes from Jarifa. Once she confessed she liked animation I felt like I was free to go public with my joy for cheezy things. (It was Jarifa, wasn't it?) Now I'm just letting it all hang out.
I am enjoying every goofy minute of this show. Even something as small as Fac's intonation last night when he screamed "MARIA?!" and Santi's giggling phone sex call with LicenciadO Godinez just makes me squeal like a pig in mud.
Poor Conchita just doesn't know what to make of it all.
Jarifa
Poor Conchita indeed!
Oh and Nanette-I keep forgetting to keep an eye out for the animated green VW! I saw it with the cow once.
I'm not fond of animation, but I do love the little pig and seeing the VW everywhere.
Interesting about the August end. Maybe the extension was announced after that article.
I got hit by the exhaustion bear so I am just going to post some high and lowlights. I will try to come back in the morning to add more details, but please feel free to discuss and add anything you like until then.
Lowlights:
Maria and Facundo continue their terrible fight and it wakes up the children. Susana is torn. She talks to Margarito. Maybe things would be better in the country, but she loves all they've learned in the city.
Beto goes to investigate and calm his parents down. He tells Jacinto not to worry. Jacinto knows exactly what's going on.
Carmen gets caught sneaking into the house. Fac blames Maria's parenting. She tells her parents she's dating Diego. At breakfast the next morning, Carmen convinces Fac to let her go out with Diego. He agrees on the condition that he meets Diego's parents.
Maria and Abuela take the children to school. Isa for the first time ever takes Ale to school. Ale is thrilled. Isa complains about Ale's bangs. There's a scene when the two ladies see each other. Maria does not come out the winner in the image war. She really made a fool of herself. She airs ALL the dirty laundry and in front of the kids. Then she threw her purse at Isa. Maria has great aim.
Carmen tells Beto about seeing Rocio on the dancefloor and that Diego took care of her. Beto thinks letting Diego take care of Rocio was a terrible idea. They used to date and Diego still have feelings for Rocio.
Susana asks Jacinto for answers to an assignment. He refuses and Susana gets in trouble. Later, to get back at him, she tells Ale that it's Jacinto leaving surprises in the backpack, not Andres. Everyone is watching and Jacinto wets himself. Poor, poor thing. It was a hard scene to watch. Susana's apology isn't even going into the highlights. She never should have done that to him.
Santi warns Fac "You can't even imagine what I have planned for you!" Whaaaa? Do we have any idea what this is about?
Maria goes to the office to deliver Fac's lunch. Fac tells her about this well known architect that he wants on the Rancho Grande Condo project. They are going to meet with him for dinner.
Francis's Follower spies on Carmen and Diego.
Maria calls Santi and tells him about the meeting with the architect. Isa overhears and now knows Maria is the spy.
Isa spills the spy beans at the business dinner. At first Facundo laughs and can't believe it. But he checks Maria's cell and sees all the calls to Santiago. A big fight ensues, which was kind of a highlight, but then I sort of remember how much this hurts Maria's position.
Francis goes to see Carmen and tells her that Diego's parents will die when they find out he's dating a rancherita. Then Francis tells her all about Diego's OB/GYN dad and how Diego stole the ultrasound from the office. Diego was Francis's accomplice. I don't think Diego has enough points to get out of this one.
Highlights
Margarito exploring Susana's bed and talking (but Susana's sadness kind of took some of the joy away. This scene seemed much sadder than Jacinto's scene last night.)
Diego tries to talk some sense into Rocio. He knows her behavior is because of Beto. He encourages her to talk to Beto and not do the crazy, self-destructive things she did when they were together.
Isa is trying to be more like the country people. She's getting up earlier and she's going to buy fresh fruit so Conchita can make them all aguas.
Maria threw her purse at Isa. Maria has great aim.
Beto apologizes to Carmen for scaring her about Diego and Rocio.
Fac redecorated the office in fine rancherito style. Santi is appalled. Fac tells Santi to take care of Isa. From what Fac has experienced, Isa needs some attentions.
Fac is changing the name of the project to "Rancho Grande." Santi scoffs. Bringing the rural to the city. Psh!
Beto is finally registered at the university. Francis's Followers think he's hot. Francis just thinks they are being invaded.
Estefy and Santi meet for drinks. Santi orders champagne. Today he has finalized the paperwork for his new business. He's sure Estefy will want to invest. They both thought bubble about cheating the other out of money. Oh this will be funny.
Carmen asks Diego if he still has feeling for Rocio. He promises he doesn't. He cares for Rocio and wants her to be ok. (See? Diego is getting all the points tonight.) Diego is thrilled that Fac gave permission to date. But he seemed a little nervous about his parents meeting the Carmona's
Santi tells Isa they are going to dinner. Get fancied up, but don't wear the black coat. Isa plays dumb about the spy. Santi slaps her behind as he tells her it's a secret he'll take to his grave.
Beto and Feli are both worried about Rocio. They decide to work to together. Feli has an idea.
El Fin del episodio
Fac and Maria return home. Maria again tries to argue her case about going back to the country. Fac tells her if she wants to go back, fine. She can. But she's not taking the children.
I like Tito's voice better than Margarito's, but Margarito looked darling wandering around on that bed.
I'm about to hit the hay.
Maria losing her temper with Isa and airing dirty laundry in front of the kids at the school. Yikes! And surely she knew Facundo would find out some time about her teaming with Santi. I wish she were more prepared to stand up for herself. At least now that it's out, she'll have to think of some other way to fight back.
Isa and Maria hugging for a sec at their fright over Facundo and Santi fighting. That was just nuts.
Glad Jacinto yelled at Susanna to get out of his room. He may be a little bedwetter, but he stands up for himself.
Maria and Isa hugging was nuts, but funny.
Jarifa- are you still up for Wednesday and Thursday? I've got to recap Sombra those nights, but I can just give us a discussion space if you can't. I don't want to assume.
In Gusana's defense, she reminded her little brother that Ale was being set up for a big disappointment and some embarrassment if she continued under the illusion that the gifts were from Diego's brother what's-his-name. Of course, the announcement didn't have to be so public.
Denise- you make a valid point. Susana was trying to help Ale and Jacinto. Ale was thinking the gifts were from Andres (I always have to struggle to remember his name) and getting her hopes up. Jacinto was thinking Ale knew they were from him and was misinterpreting Ale's joy at receiving them. But I just wish she hadn't decided to do it publicans and in response to Jacinto no helping her with schoolwork. That made it feel more retaliatory to me.
Jarifa
Could someone jog my memory? Martaivett is dealing with computer issues, isn't she? I seem to recall she's having to use her daughter's computer for her Friday recaps.
Looks like the biggest mistake for Jacinto was being put in Susana's class at school. Too many social problems. Now he is supposed to help her cheat? She outs him to Alejandra in front of his face? He needs to be with kids his own age. Get him a tutor if he needs enrichment. I really felt bad for him wetting himself at school. Loved Susana on her bed with Margarito; not so much with Jacinto. Margarito needs to talk some sense into her!!!
Enough of the negative, I absolutely loved Estefany and Santiago together celebrating his new company and each silently planning the old cross and double cross. Santiago toasts to money (they both put "money" first in their toasts!!), love and "pisqui pisqui" back at their love nest. Never heard it called that before! Then Estefany calls him her kittiekat, her tiger and then her lion and he starts to growl and roar. Very funny scene.
Jarifa
1) Leave Facundo, and go back to the country by herself.
2) Leave Facundo, and take the kids back with her to the country.
3) Swallow her feelings, accept living in the city, smile, look pretty, have sex with Facundo, cook, clean, and iron his shirts.
4)Status quo-- Continue to air her feelings about NOT wanting to live in the city- while Facundo ignores her feelings, cook, clean, and iron his shirts.
5) Ignore Facundo's feelings, retake her shawl making business, do her own thing, and argue with Facundo constantly about slacking on her mothering and homemaking work.
Other options?
The sad thing is you are very right. I was just popping in to piggy-back(not Margarito's though) on Jarifa's comment and say how realistic this show can be at times.
I find so many of the heartbreaking scenes even more heartbreaking because they could really happen in real life and I feel like a lot of the problems that are happening to Maria and Facundo could actually happen to a real life couple. It is uncomfortable to watch.
What they need in an objective mediator to help them come to a compromise. Perpetua and Porfirio are no help in this situation.
And Isa. What do I say about her? Right now I can't even find her likable. I don't buy her little thought bubbles about wanting to be a better person. Phooey. I don't believe her for a second.
It just irks me when Facundo treats María like one of the kids and not his equal. I would have loved for her to have refused to hand over her phone, admit to being the informant, and then say "what of it? considering you and Isabel here". I am hoping for a major personality change for María.
Sara, Isabel is funny like a cartoon character when she was whistling at the end of Santago's snores and getting revved in the early a.m. but I don't like her or believe her either.
I like these bigger comment boxes.
Jarifa
This marriage may not be able to be saved (though I hope so!!!), but Maria has got to save herself, from becoming a person she surely does not want to be (nagging, losing it and divulging adult stuff in front of the kids, going behind her husband's back with his enemy). Maria is operating out of fear and it's understandable. But, as Carmen advised her earlier, Maria should focus on herself (and Jacinto too). Does she want to return to the shawl business? Does she want household help with cleaning a much bigger house than she used to have?
At the end of last night's episode I felt like Maria was really backed into a corner. I'm with you Vivi, no easy way out. And Fac saying she could leave, wow, that was harsh. What would he do if she and her mother left? Who is going to cook and clean and take care of the kids? Yoya and Beto are both in school. Fac needs a Fact Check!
Jarifa, I totally wanted Maria to throw Isa back in Fac's face. Santi doesn't even know she went to the condo. At least Isa wouldn't have escaped totally free.
It would be awesome if the writers were reading. I would dearly love to see Maria and her mother go back to the country and watch as Fac and the rest try to function without her.
Heeeey. Maria should take ROCIO back with her to the country. I know Rocio hasn't had much schooling, but surely there's a way she could help Maria, Perpetua and Tia Humilde sell their shawls on line?
That would be SWEET!
Loved the little hand to the heart, sighing thing Jacinto did after putting the dolphin in Ale’s backpack. So adorable.
Also, liked the Margarito scene—except—the poor think wanted down. I got to the point where I was telling Susana to “let the baby down”. Poor thing. He was adorable, though. Swishing his tail back and forth a mile a minute. I do have a suggestion. If you’re going to have a serious scene, you don’t want to have any animals in it, Margarito especially. I didn’t try one bit to understand what Susana was saying because I was watching M. And wondering why the heck she didn’t let him off the bed!
So true. I admit right now that I really didn't pay much attention to Susana at all...and I was supposed to be recapping!
I don’t think Frances can stand any of her “social set” involved with the Carmonas. Also, agree with Eva that she doesn’t want Carmen to be happy. Carmen tried to steal Feli and Frances is not going to forget that—especially since Feli wanted to be stolen.
For all those Dr. Doolittle fans out there, Margarito has a voice.
Vivi: big mess for Maria. Definitely would have to be compromising on both sides, but as you said, not Fac’s strong point.
Margarito was also mad when Susana picked him up. It bothers me a little when that happens. I don't like them forcing an animal to do something it doesn't want to just so they can be in the shot (I'd rather not see Margarito than see him upset).
I saw a video today from when the presented Amores con trampa to the press. The stars were talking about what the would do if they had the Carmona's money. Africa Zavala looked fabulous and Beto was is a suit.
I wondered about the two mini-Frances', too. Why would they put up with the abuse? Maybe because Frances is in the popular crowd and they want to be in popular crowd? Every time F is on screen I feel like throwing things at my TV. She's either browbeating or ridiculing or manipulating. And she yells every word she says. SHUT UP PANCHA!!!!!
