Que Te Perdone Dios #83 – Abi Still Wants to Marry Her Uncle, Renata Wants to Give Him Half of the Inheritance, and Fausto Wants to Kill Him. And He and Benito Get Fired.

Refry: Julian tells Black Hand (Mano Negra) that he won’t tolerate anybody, not even his own big-mouthed son, revealing their past and getting them back into trouble with the law.

At the funeral home, Amanda explains to Diego that nobody told him the truth because it wasn’t their secret to tell, it was Vicenta’s. And Vicenta didn’t tell because she didn’t want Diego to think his mom was a ho with the patrón, and to stain Diego’s memory of her. Having everybody believe that Diego was entering into an incestuous marriage with Abigail was Vicenta’s way of “honoring” her daughter’s memory, I suppose.

New: Vicenta is put into the ground with strange African drums and wails as background music. The music was intense, but out of place in little Real de San Andrés. I have no idea why, in this class- conscious nook of the world, members of ‘high’ society have turned out for the funeral of this servant. Even Eduviges, who has been so cruel to Motor, is there to pay her respects to the Hacienda’s chief vegetable peeler. Everyone attending the hija de la criada’s wedding was a stretch (because the groom was a dyed in the wool peon), but at least there was the Renata connection. Not so here. Anyway, Max steps up to Diego for some recognition for having saved his life, and gets a nod. Pan over the black-clad crowd to Abi. If the ceremony had been carried out, would she and Diego still have celebrated their wedding night what with Vicenta being assassinated and all?

Macaria busts into Lucio’s house, all smiles and congrats to him for killing Vicenta. Mac gets that it was supposed to be Diego, but Vicenta irritated her so much that she just has to thank Lucio for doing away with her. Remind me not to annoy Mac. Mac even thinks it’s comical that the hit went off course. How heartless/tasteless/hopeless can a person be? Lucio denies everything, but doesn’t he get that he’s talking to Mac? You can’t con a con.

Motor, the Padre and Simona are walking after the funeral, when they see Toño the Alcoholic going into The Cantina. Simona starts a whine routine, Motor volunteers to go in after him, but Padre says he will do it. Inside, Toño asks for a whole bottle of something, probably tequila but maybe whiskey. If I wanted to drink that much, I would buy a bottle at the liquor store for a quarter of the price, but I’m thrifty, what can I say? Toño tells the Padre that the way to avoid a hangover is to stay drunk all the time. What a pearl of wisdom from our idiot child. Padre is having none of it and pulls Toño out of the bar by his ear.

Lucio is laying into Max for being so talkative with Comandante Barragan. Max says it was all to deflect from Lucio and that it worked. He gave a bogus description. Lucio says, “But you disobeyed me. I could have shot you instead!” Max asks what difference does it make, since he’s dying anyway. He asks Lucio to leave Diego alone, and Luc says that is up to God, that is, Fausto, to decide. Besides, Lucio needs the money. He has had his eye on a new carpet for the entryway. Plus, why shouldn’t Diego die? Why should he have the girl, the family, the health that rightfully correspond to Max? Remind me not to have things that Lucio wants for his son.

Padre has marched Toño all the way home by the ear, and confronts Julian with his errant son. Julian accepts responsibility and is respectful to the Padre, but as soon as the door shuts behind the Padre, Julian is all “SLAP!” to Toño, and grabs him by the hair. He makes it clear that he will not tolerate Toño’s behavior causing him problems and inconvenience. Toño is confused by dear old dad’s tone, and scared, too. So he thinks it wise to bait Julian with threats and questions about his jail time. Did it occur to him that maybe the charge was murder?!! Toño might just have a tiger by the tail here, have bitten off more than he can chew, let his bocón write a check that his idiotic personality can’t cash.

Meliton stops by Lucio’s place to introduce himself and meet the Saviour of Diego (Max).

Lucio is meeting with Fausto in the study, and Fausto, like Macaria, is not displeased with the botched hit. Bottom line, Abi is not married to Diego, and somebody got killed, so he gladly pays up and even throws in extra for Lucio’s medical bills with Max. “I’ll leave you to put away your money.” Lucio begins body-packing the stacks of money like a shoplifter stealing Twinkies from a 7-Eleven. Not for the first time in this novela, Mac walks into the study when all the money is in view. She wants half of it to keep quiet about Vicenta’s murder. Lucio continues to uselessly deny it, says it’s a loan for Max’s medical expenses, but nonetheless will pay half for her help in getting Abi for Max. He says that he wants Max to have the woman he loves before he dies, which is the first time he’s admitted that this isn’t going to end well for Max.

Diego has made his way to Renata’s room. He’s not wasting any time acting like he owns the place! Ren asks him, “Why are you avoiding me, bro?” She is truly sorry for the loss of his grandmother. Good help is so hard to find, and it will be hard on the family to be short-staffed in the kitchen until they find a replacement. But Ren is still mad at him for what he did to Abi at the altar. Why, when she was always in favor of the marriage? Diego reveals that he knows Abi is her daughter. Ren makes a half-hearted denial, but fine, okay, why do you care? Fausto shows up at the door that Diego was careful to leave open just in time to overhear Diego say, “We are siblings! I, too, am Don Bruno’s child!” Now Renata is not making half-hearted denials. She is all in when she says that’s impossible, he’s wrong. Fausto chimes in, saying it’s all a scam, he’s trying to get your money, to blackmail you. The fact that Fausto so quickly leaps to this conclusion is pretty revealing of his own nature, and others should take notice, but the detail is lost in the heat of the moment. Diego says that isn’t true, and Ren believes him. He’s giving Fausto an intense death glare, and then gets right up in Fausto’s face and does a scary, godfather-type kiss of his fingers. He says that if Fausto has anything to do with this, he’ll kill him. He is not afraid of Fausto. Fausto says, “You are going to pay for this,” and Diego says, “I’ll be waiting.” What a forceful ending to this scene!

Back at Lucio’s, Max is telling Meliton that Lucio is a good man. This is as convincing to Meli as Lucio’s denials about the murder were to Mac. Meliton talks about how Lucio was as a kid, a typical nice ranch kid, doing typical nice ranch things, like liking horses, but then he changed, he lost his innocence. Max is enthralled with this information about his dad’s life, and Meli offers, “When you want to know about Lucio and your mom, I’ll tell you because I know that story quite well.”

Fausto keeps trying to convince Renata that this whole Diego thing is a scam that he is running to get his hands on Renata’s fortune, but Ren isn’t biting. Meliton is the source of the info, and she trusts him. Fausto isn’t pleased with Meliton. He’s besmirching Bruno’s reputation. Renata still doesn’t bite. She’s well aware of the bajezas (low things, dirty deeds) that her father has committed and isn’t too worried about conserving the saintly memory of him.

Abigail is sitting and crying at the fountain in the Hacienda’s courtyard, and up strolls Mateo. Whenever Abi is there and he appears, I just GROAN. I cannot stand the way he always follows her around and spews his same plaguísima plaga all the time. Ugh! When all the tension was going on in the church about if Diego would be shot or not, I was fervently offering up Mat as an option. Abi thinks he is happy that she didn’t marry Diego, and he is, but he didn’t want her to be hurt like she was. Abi is not happy, Diego was her ONLY chance of getting over Mateo. Why? Why is this true? The world is full of men, men who don’t know Mateo, don’t live near him, probably aren’t his brother and didn’t grow up with him. It seems like any of these would be a better option than Diego for getting over Mat. Diego spies them together from a corner. Welcome to your new house, dude.

Fausto will not let his scam theory drop. He and Renata have worked their way to the living room, where it’s more convenient for Connie to come in and clarify that it is true, Bruno IS the father. Fausto demands to know why, if it’s true, did she just now mention it? Because Meliton has been helping me remember things I used to avoid. Ruh-roh! Fausto immediately identifies Meliton as the cause of this problem. He goes into full Fausto mode, spinning BS as fast as he can think of it. He goes so far as declaring “Meliton and Diego are working together, obviously.” But Ex-Crazy Con won’t have it, and just as Abi and Mat mosey into the living room, she categorically declares, “Diego es hijo de mi difunto marido!” Caras de impactado from Mat and Abi.

Cut to Diego at the cenote/lago/rio/body of water. And I’ll tell you right now the Padre is not there swimming in his calzones. I kept an eye out the whole scene. Instead, Diego is luchando with the love that is still in his heart, but now knows to be perverse. He is very frank with God, letting Him know that he loves Abi, not as a niece, but as a woman. He feels ill. But he is a pretty crier. Poor Diego. Remind me not to fall in love with a blood relation.

At the Hacienda, Mat moves in for a diagnosis of Ex-Con, but she is adamant that she is not having any symptoms. She’s just telling the truth. Ren holds Abi and says she’s sorry. Abi is thinking that it’s weird that Diego is her madrina’s half-brother, but doesn’t see why that stopped the wedding. Oh yeah, Abi is one of the very few people in Abi's life that doesn’t know she is Ren’s daughter, so she can’t make the uncle/niece connection. The moment is glossed over without an answer, of course. Instead, Ren declares to Fausto that if it all turns out to be true, she will make amends to Diego for what he has been deprived. Fausto groans at this news as if Mat were emoting to Abi. And Ren has unwittingly re-signed Diego’s death warrant.

Padre is taking care of baby Domingo for a few days while Diego works the lust for his niece out of his system. Domingo is full of awkward questions, and the best one is, “If you knew what Meliton said wasn’t true, why the hell didn’t you say anything?” Amen!

Max and Lucio are at home, and Max talks about what Meliton told him about Lucio. “Was the change in you due to your first kill?” Lucio does not want to talk details. Max thinks Meliton sincerely wants to help, but Lucio isn’t interested. In the middle of their talk, Fausto barges in and tells Lucio to jump. “How high?!” They leave.

Diego continues to struggle with his heart, complete with a montage of inappropriate moments he has shared with his niece, including riding behind her on a horse, holding hands, kissing, and getting married. Ew!! We know he’s not really her uncle, but he doesn’t.

The final scene, in Meliton’s jacal. Boring Benito worries about Diego, but Meliton says let him be. Enter Dark Lords Lucio and Fausto, very intimidating, and they want to know where the infeliz of Diego is. Meli and Ben genuinely do not know. Fausto turns on them, saying they bite the hand that feeds them, and that Meliton has taken advantage of an easy mark, a crazy woman, and filled her head with nonsense. (note: if Fausto is Diego’s dad, then he really would be wondering how the heck everybody got to believing that Bruno is. end note) The fiesta is over. Benito and Diego no longer work at the Enramada, effectively immediately, and Meliton is to pack his bags and get out. Fausto storms out, and Lucio stays behind as enforcer, looking scruffily on the poor sots that are Meli and Ben.

Scary avances, including Diego strung up by his arms (and shirtless) by Fausto.

Comments:
When Max was asking Lucio "How did it feel? How did you feel? [the first time you killed somebody]" maybe it is because Max is thinking of killing Fausto. Max really hates Fausto for what he has done to Lucio, and if Max is dying anyway, he might be wanting to go out with a bang.

Vicenta got whacked? Noooo!

The Body Count could reach the 30s!

I havent watched the episode yet so thanks for the recap TN4Ever. I did catch the scene with Diego & Fausto though, couldnt believe FV is playing a Fofito again even on the most minimal degree he is frightening as hell though not as Sergio Goyri, his performance in this novela is faboulus but i doubt he could surpass Cesar Evora. Both were despicable but Cesar's character showed more emotions.

What is a fofito?

I just can't get behind the Abi/Mateo pairing. Just my opinion but a man who really loves a woman and wants to give her a proper place in his life isn't going to propose that she just be a side piece for him. I've often wondered if Mateo made the "side piece" offer to Abigail because she's the maid's daughter...if she were the Thirsty Sisters' daughter (or known as Renata's daughter) I don't think he would make such an offer to Abigail.

I also am glad the Diego/Abi pairing is over because she will cheat on him the first opportunity she gets and Diego doesn't deserve that. She was only using him.

Abi is fixated on her lust for Mateo; Mateo knows this and wants to use that to make her his mistress so he can have his higher status wife and children and lusty side piece too. No thanks.

We all know Abigail is really Renata's daughter!

Anon202 , Fofito is our Adolfito from Lo Que La Vida me Robo in which FV casted a character that turned from an useless flop eater into a merciless killer with conscience issues. He was really one of the best characters ever in the novela , if not the best.

As for what concerns this episode, all this describing of Lucio's past must have served a new agenda besides the Germ- Elena plot. I think he was the one who killed Diego's motherand that would be the reason she has never appeared in his life ( Unless she's homeless and full of regrets stuck in no man's land or just a crazy, uncaring Hoe but we already have enough contenders for Crazy Hoes! )

And yeah Anon207 , i also hate Mat so much but my hate for him is getting repetetive, either his rants make him sound like a spoiled brat or the actor is not getting to me.
He should stay clear from Abi till he gets a good good lawyer , exorcist and a psychiatrist which shouldnt be that hard for his financial prowess.. He should also buy a Bible since he preaches free love that much.

Too many complicated birth secrets, Diego needs to get away from all that crazy business and forget about Abi, his misunderstanding save them from a potentially hellish marriage. I've said this a couple of times that its almost redundant but Mateo needs to get a live or better yet a job, one that does not involve him lusting after Abi every single moment. People also need to start talking and.saying the actual truth. Poor Vincenta. Thanks for the recap TN4ever.

Thanks TN4ever.

I'm sort of starting to get back on the bandwagon of this one....

I don't get these people - a person dies and all they seem to care about is that Diego left Abigail at the altar. Ex: Renata tells Diego that she cared for Vicenta but she is mad at him for what he did, the police chief is pissed at Diego for leaving Abigail at the altar, & even Abigail comes home and cries over Diego for leaving her at the altar, etc.

Then there is Meliton who thanks Max for saving Diego and when Max says he couldn't save Vicente - Meliton says "Well we can't save everyone". What a terrible thing to say. In my eyes Max is no hero. He's a zero. A real hero would have taken the bullet instead of letting someone else take the bullet.

Okay, rant over... lol

Mauricio, I think maybe they are trying to rehabilitate Max, I just hope it isn't so he can marry Abi as he is dying; then he goes into remission, please no. !
I know in typical novela land, Mateo is destined to end up with Abi, but wouldn't it be great if the writers just once turned the tables: Diego isn't Abi's uncle, and they marry and live happily ever after! I know it's impossible.

TN4EVER Thanks for posting a recap for, what seems, is a lean audience for Caray. The episode was somewhat boring, so I figure the recaps are harder. What do you want to bet that Meliton saves Diego and Renata contradicts Fausto's order to kick out Meliton and Diego ? But even better, would be if Padre Tomas frees Diego and sees Fausto for what he really is.

Lucio reminds me of Peralta's hired gun, Aldo from Hasta Fin Del Mundo!

Mac reminds me of Rubio in LaMal the way she manages to overhear secret info and slithers into rooms...

TN4ever- Thank you so much. Loved the recap. No show tonight so we have a bunch of days to discuss.

I saw a it of this episode and a bit of the last one. Mauricio, you hit on EXACTLY what bugged me these episodes. Everyone was going on and on about Diego dumping Abi at the altar and not about Vicenta's murder! Even in front of the damn church. Out of nowhere a sniper shoots someone dead, and no one ducks, takes cover, looks scared, or even looks around to see who or where the shot came from? WTF?!

Well Vivi, at the rate that Barragan is going they will never figure out who killed Vicenta. I mean he is still working on Pablo's murder after what 4 years, and that was his son.

Max is bad, especially regarding Abi, but I haven't come across an antigonist as bad ass as LC in AB; and she received one of the worst anvils of all novela time. !!

I patiently wait for the day novella land will actually let the female lead ends up with someone who loves and deserves her, instead of the compulsory main pairing ending up together. If Mateo actually had a character or tried to redeem himself, i might actually root for him and Abi to end up together but the guy has not done any thing right throughout the telenovela. Its also sad that no one is really mourning Vicenta's death.

I think no one is mourning because they got used to the death curse in this village since there have been a huge blood bath in this telenovela. Slowly people get used to death , just imagine in Auschwitz where people died left and right but no one had time to mourn.

Victoria, i think the most evil villian ever was Atilio Montenegro, i have never seen a guy as bad as him. LC comes close but i think Catalina Creel has not been surpassed just yet.

CountX,
I tried to watch MdLN because I love César Évora as a bad guy and AB. However, like LM, I couldn't stomach the incest.
Which is why I close my eyes with Fausto's scenes in QTPD. I also remember the anvils that fell on Lucero in Mañana es Para Siempre and Susana González in Pasión
I haven't seen the 2 novelas you mentioned and will look for them on Youtube. Youtube is my addiction. I just hate it when someone uploads an entire novela and then many episodes are deleted by Televisa, Univision, etc. because of copyright problems. This is even worse when you want to go back and rewatch a novela and half of it is missing. DailyMotion is hard to watch because the episodes aren't in playlists or in order.
Thank you so much for your recapping, I think you have a really busy schedule and are in Europe, you work is appreciated all the more. !!

TN4ever, Do you know how funny you are? Our recappers have a wicked sense of humor, but yours tonight had me laughing so much. Way too many to mention. I had missed several
epis, but got just caught up a mini marathon
I was going to read comments before posting, but I couldnt wait to thank you for this super entertaining recap. i dont like the avances and hope Diego gets rescued before Fausto touches him. I cannot watch, not kidding.

Thank you everybody for the comments. Definitely the best part of recapping! Yes, Victoria Gomez, we are lean. But faithful! Novella Lover, wow! Thank you, so glad you enjoyed the recap.

I personally am ready for ultimas semanas. I just don't see what else there is to drag out. I guess there are still several parentage reveals in the works. Will the "Ximena lusting for Padre" go anywhere? I don't see how it possibly could. But she also likes Fausto, that does seem like trouble.

I guess for the moment it's specifically the Tono is rude storyline, and Max is sick, Mat and Abi are in love, that are really boring me. Even my old favorite Lucio is boring me. What ever happened to him and Diana, anyway? That was a non-starter. And him in the flaming red shirt, black pants and hat, with his rifle, so defined against the white buildings and blue sky, I would think that even Renata could have ID'd him as the hitman on Vicenta.

But no matter what I said, see you on Monday!

TN4EVER & OTHERS

Does anyone out there in Viewerville know how many episodes long this novela will run ? ? We are only on episode 84 and the last couple of novela's have exceeded 125+ episodes.

But TN4EVER mentioned looking forward to seeing Últimas Semanas, so if anyone has inside knowledge please pass it along. !!

Victoria, my hope is around 134 episodes since Abrazame Muy Fuerte, its predcessor had the same amount of episodes. I will flip my table if they extend it to 160 ugh. I loved that La Malquerida had only 120 episodes but i fear this novela might reach 160 . I remember Robo at 195 episodes but the original one had only 90 episodes i think ughhhh

And if they film alternate endings, I'm leaving North Carolina and taking my flag and standing in front of Televisa's studio with the biggest bullhorn I can find. I will invite all of Viewerville to participate. Then on to wonderful travels back to the cities I remember from college.

Yeah alternate endings like Fausto becoming Governor of Mexico but abandoned by everyone else, only capable of seeing Abi behind the trees. The second Alternative could be Abi picking Diego for the love of her life while Mat decides to become an astranaut and travels to Mars but the shuttle explodes Abi and Diego respond to the news by marrying & having 7 other Domingos. They rename a frying pan into "Mateo" in the honour of his name!

But just before the shuttle explodes Mat has his moment with Ghost Abi and he says that " I finally have hold of your banana!" as romantic music begins playing and it all goes kaboom as he begins shouting " Nooo, no puede cer!!!" but the romantic music keeps playing .

I think you mean that right before the shuttle explodes and Mateo has his moment with Abi, She is the one to say~~~~~~

"Whoopi, I finally get to hold YOUR BANANA"

But my oh my, why did I ever think waiting for this was worth it" ? ????

You have my permission to delete if too offensive or graphic !!

Victoria, tis would be even more hilarious: Fausto getting probation for his crimes alongside a medal for "Reptile of the year" . His new job will be selling candies to babies and if he garners enough support they might support for Governor of Mexico! I mean if you complete your probation dilligently, you must be a reformed man capable of ill doings no more??

Diana could also survive to call Abi from a beach saying " See i told you that Mat was a worthless POS and you didnt listen, now we can finally become great friends!"

Macaria gave all the secrets to the papparazis and they make her a weather reporter but unfortunatly she mistooks Sun as Fausto. She drowns and gets eaten by a blind crocodile.

Mistooks the Sun for Fausto*

Countx

We are laughing along the same lines. That was the best thing about LQLVMR, was seeing Pedro's anvil.
SG got a good anvil also in Soy tú Dueña!
