Lo Imperdonable #19 Thu 6/11/15 Who Needs Couples Therapy When You Can Settle Your Differences By Fencing

This will be a short and quick summary:

* Martin in confessional tells Padre Juan that he married the woman who caused his brother's death to get revenge on her. Padre Juan asks him - how can he be so sure? Martin explains that he's sure because she's the owner of the pendant. Her initials are V. Prado Castelo - Veronica Prado Castelo. Martin admits that Veronica is driving him crazy because she appears nice and good while in reality she's a damn viper. Martin also admits that he is in love with Veronica. "If you love her and she loves you shouldn't that be enough for you to forgive her?" Padre Juan asks. It's not enough for Martin who still wants revenge and doesn't care what it costs. Martin admits that he made this confession in confessional to seal Padre's lips. Padre Juan reprimands him for having stooped so low as to have sealed his lips this way. Martin knows he has no pardon and doesn't even know if he'll be able to forgive himself when he gets his revenge. He runs out of church with Padre Juan calling after him. Later, Padre Juan prays so God can guide him and give him words to tell Martin so he won't go along with his revenge.

* Virginia informs Salma that thanks to Claudia she was able to find out (via a fax sent by Martin) that Martin and Veronica arrived fine to Mina Escondida. Salma doesn't quite like that Claudia and Virgina have become friends because Claudia is a tad vulgar and extravagant. Virginia agrees that Claudia dresses a tad provocatively but she doesn't like to judge and believes that what matters is what is on the inside (yeah right, Virginia). When Virginia notices that Emiliano has entered the mansion she badmouths Veronica subtlety over Veronica not having been the one who sent the fax home to let the family know how she was doing.

* Cresnecio orders Manuel to apologize to Julio for having hit him. But Manuel refuses because 1. he's not sorry what he did and 2. if he apologizes then he'd lose authority with Julio and the other miners. Cresencio will give Manuel a pass on this but tells him it better not happen again or else Cresencio will give Julio permission to hit Manuel back.

* Virginia and Daniel meet out in the garden and he confronts her over her being in love with Emiliano and wanting to marry him. He's determined to spills the beans and let everyone know that she's a big fat liar and that when she had the heart operation back when she was 16 she came out fine and didn't have a relapse like Virginia has made everyone believe. She tells him - if he blabs then so will she - and all his patients will find out what a corrupt doctor he is. He tells her that he was jealous over finding out about her and Emiliano. She explains that her only interest in Emiliano is his $$ and she only wants to marry him to take that away from him. After she gets her hands on his $$ then she and Daniel can be together forever and ever. The two eventually end up having sex out in the garden. I'm pretty sure Uni did some cutting with this scene.

* Botel and Magdalena are leaving for Mexico City. Once they arrive in Mexico City, the first thing that Botel will do is a find a replacement doctor for Mina Escondida so the town doesn't stay without a doctor. The idiot doesn't stop to think that perhaps he should find a doctor for the town BEFORE he actually leaves for Mexico City instead of finding one AFTER he leaves town. But whatever what can we expect from a doctor who drinks heavily and is a blabbermouth. Magdalena is sure that this time she will find her daughter. Once again we see her rubbing her arm.

* Veronica tries to get intimate with Martin but once again he freezes then leaves the room leaving her all hot and bothered. She goes after him but he has left the hovel. Veronica comes back inside and cries wondering what the heck is wrong with her hubby. (Oh and before this scene there was a other one where Veronica is fixing her pendant and Martin comes in and she assures him that the pendant she took from Virginia is hers. But Martin just lets this piece of information slip.)

* Martin drinks a whole bottle of liquor and returns home drunk only to find Nanciyaga asleep on a hammock outside the hovel. Nanciyaga wants to make him happy and she flirts with him and tries to seduce him. He stands there for a while and lets her do this but then comes to his senses and rejects her and goes to sleep inside. Martin enters his marital room where Veronica sleeps and he wonders why Veronica had to be the V. Looking at a pic of him and Veronica he apologizes to her for making her live a hell which is the same hell that he is living himself because he can't correspond to her love. He lays down next to a sleeping Veronica and falls asleep.

* Next morning, Veronica decides to solve her marital problems by fencing with Martin. Martin isn't up for this game of hers but the two end up fending. She wants him to tell her truth about why he rejects her. They fence for a few seconds and as they do Veronica tells him that all she wants is for him to tell her what is going on. He tells her that if she hasn't yet realized why he brought her there then he won't be the one to tell her his reasons. Veronica tells him he's crazy and he says that yeah he is - crazy of anger and jealously. She tells him if that if he's so offended then how does he expect for her to feel when he isn't even willing to make love to her not even for pleasure. He yells at her to shut up because she doesn't understand. They continue to fend and eventually Veronica gets the upperhand and has the sabre to Martin's throats (which is reminiscent of when Martin had the sword to Veronica's throat). Anyway, Veronica is willing to cut Martin's throat if that is what it will take for him to tell her what is going on. Martin then gets the upperhand himself. Veronica tells Martin that she loves him and to not be afraid to speak with her. She tells him that she's his wife in the good and bad. She tells him to let her understand and tells him that whatever is going on in his heart they'll get through it together. She tells him to confide in her and that she won't betray him. He asks her if she's sure and tells her not to waste her time because he won't change. He tells her that she won't dominate him and leaves. Veronica wonders what she did to make Martin hate her.

* Veronica runs into Pablo in the plaza and Pablo asks her how she and Martin are. Veronica tells him that Martin is with problems with the ummm mine. Veronica tells Pablo that Martin has been effected by the problems and she hasn't had time to look at the sights. Pablo offers to show her the sights and lets it slip that it will cheer him up. Cheer up? Veronica asks. Does he miss Mariana? she asks him. Pablo explains that he's bummed because he had an appointment with a potential client and he doesn't think the appointment will happen. She tells him not to give up. She tells him that you always have to fight for what you want even if it's harder than you expected. They continue their chat and we find out that the fax machine is out of order. This may be important later on so I added it to the recap.

* Magdalena comes to see Veronica (who isn't home) she and asks Nanciyaga to give her the message that she came. Nanciyaga says to herself that she's not a messenger for the mujer blanca. Then Padre Juan comes along looking for Martin who is not home. Padre Juan leaves a message with Nanciyaga and once again Nanciyaga says that she's no messenger. Oh and also Padre Juan had asked Nanciyaga to behave herself even if she doesn't like Veronica that much.

 * Ana Perla is still upset with Pablo. The night before, he went over to her place and shined a flashlight at her window to get her attention. She came out to her window and looked out and saw him. She then shook her head at him and went back inside. Later, when Pablo and Veronica are talking, Pablo spots Ana Perla with her cousins and goes to talk to her. He tries to explain but Ana Perla doesn't want to hear his explanations. She calls him a foreigner and leaves. Blanquita tells Pablo that if he has any shame he'd leave Mina Escondida. Pablo eventually explains to Blanquita that if he told Ana Perla about his girlfriend it wasn't to hurt her. He says that he wanted to tell Ana Perla that if he went to the city it wasn't to see Mariana but to break up with her. Which we know he didn't do so he's a big fat liar. Blanquita will think about whether or not she should tell Ana Perla this.

* Mariana cries because she misses Pablo. Montse and Mariana will be coming to Mina Escondida. Oh snap..for sure this won't help Pablo get back together with Ana Perla. This visit should be interesting.

* Emiliano started working on the designs for the pre-hispanic jewelry collection and he tells himself that it'd be easier with Veronica around. Oy vey! Later on, Nana Matilde takes a look at his designs and when they get on the subject of Veronica, she tells him that in life things don't go as we want. She tells him that he should lean on his family for support.

* That's what he does, because the next morning Emiliano offers to go with Virginia to her appointment with her cardiologist - Dr. Daniel. Oh and Jorge tells Virginia that she should see another doctor and get second opinion. Jorge has connections and already made the appointment with this new doctor. She tries to weasel herself out of this but to no avail. Let's see what the viper does now....

* Pointless scene (other than seeing Uspin shirtless) with Uspin and another dude who helps row the boat where the other dude drools over Nanciyaga. He must have seen her skinny dipping I guess. We find out that Nanciyaga's civilization, her elders are the ones who choose the man she will be with.

* Veronica comes home and Nanciyaga gives her the messages that Padre Juan and Magdalena left. Veronica rushes to get pen and paper to write a letter home and asks Martin how come he didn't tell her that Magdalena and Botel were leaving for Mexico City. She tells him that she wanted to send a letter home. He deduces that she wants to send a letter home to complain about Mina Escondida and to let her family know what a terrible time she's having. He tells her that she can leave if she wants to but if she leaves it will be forever.

That's basically it.

Thanks Mauricio for the recap. You pretty much got all the important parts of last nights episode. Something that bugged me was that V- Viper and Dr. Feelgood did the nasty right in the open without being caught by anyone. I was really looking forward for someone like Emi spotting them and then telling his parents what he saw or start a fight with Dr. Feelgood. I was also bugged how Martin deliberately gets Veronica all excited and then stops and leaves her to think he doesn't love her.

Why is Vero in this relationship? I know the answer, it is so we can have a show to watch but still crazy. She's as insane as raging Marty. Thank you for the recap.
Romy

Thanks Mauricio for filling us in on the good stuff--well not so good stuff last night.

Martin is really loosing it. Don't know who will crack first Martin or Vero. Wow, if Ver sticks it out, it sure won't be easy for her.

I wonder if she will ever come across Dimi's grave?

The story is drawing me in deeper and deeper. I feel as though I am in Mina Escondita myself.

With Martin nearly out of control--bad news for Veronica and Mariana on her way--bad
news for Pablo, it's
Must see tv tonight.

Thank you so much Mauricio. Much appreciated.

"But whatever what can we expect for a doctor who drinks heavily and is a blabbermouth"

I loved it when Virginia caught a glimpse of Emiliano and threw out a Veronica or two or three.

Also, hoping someone would come upon the garden tryst.

I kept screaming for Veronica to stick em. Of course she didn't, should have.

Agree Romy, makes no sense for Veronica to stay. She's known the wacko around 3 months, hasn't consummated the marriage, could return pretty easily, no harm no foul. Dude is a textbook abuser and she is convinced if she keeps coming at him with love and rational thought the demon will leave. Sad really, her father abused her mother too.

I wonder if Pablo is self aware at all, he didn't return to break up and didn't break up. Glad Blanquita a a decent bs detector.

Nanci intrigues me. Why she here?

Wow Mauricio! Fantastic recap.

I had to head scratch last night. Thoroughly agree with your note on the doctor worrying about a replacement AFTER he leaves. Maybe when he's sober, he doesn't think she well?

And the whole Marty cuddling with V-1. First, lord love her, I wish I could sleep like the living dead, because if the cat jumped up on my bed, it wakes me. This guyg wraps his arm around her, pulls her close and is full force up against her back and on she sleeps? She stirred but I didn't get the drift she was awake?

And then we have a wonderful edit where we immediately jump to her handing him a sword the next day. I was like...wait, what? he got up, changed, she did too...do we not get a more of a reaction to the sleep cuddle? sort of a lost moment to me. Instead she comes out ready to roll with the swords...ok then.

Don't get me started on the frolic on the lawn.

I swear, there is something in the water in both these places.

At least the previews seemed interesting.

Daisynjay

Thanks Mauricio. Laura Re Dr and the snake in the garden. As it was pretty dark I also wanted them to get caught... by a huge fire ant mound.

Oh. And someone help me out here. One scene, I think it might have been Pablo on a bridge or somewhere there are a gazillion electric and/or phone wires strung across in the background. Didnt 'look like no electricity or phones to me.

When Crazy Martin told Vero she was welcome to return to her parents and stay gone she should have taken him up on his offer.

"Ya lnow what, Mr.Sexless, that sounds like a great idea. The other half of Mexico City which I haven't slept with YET is waiting for me, douche. Give my love to tribal snot." Toodle pip.

@Mauricio, thanks for stepping up and working on yet another emergency recap. It was great. This time I have several comments, but I just noticed it's time to head home from work, so for now I will only say a couple of things and will comment more later once I get home.

My alternative title for this episode: "Duel In the Sun"

About the Prado-Csstelo "garden" - readers may have noticed before that they repeatedly refer to the mansion being on a "finca" on the outskirts of Mexico City. A "finca" is a farm, so they don't merely have a backyard. It's a huge property. In the earlier episodes, the first time Emiliano and Vero go riding together, with Virginia in tow, it's at their own finca, if you recall. When he almost goes over a cliff, riding with a hangover, it's also at their own finca. In other words, the property is HUGE and it was the middle of the night, so I'm not surprised that Virginia and Dr. Feelgood didn't get caught having their tryst somewhere on that large property.

More comments later.

LatinainMD. Thanks for the reminder. Yeah they have a huge operation there with breeding and raising horses and all. Pretty nice.

I trust you are on the mend. We could probably all chip in for airfare and have Virginia's cardiologist look in on you. He DOES make house calls. :-)

I'm counting on Father Juan to do something. Lord knows what with that unbreakable vow and all.

Right Steve and Greta?

Father Juan seems pretty resourceful. I'm hoping he can ask Saint Guadelupe for a waiver or something and then rat Crazy Boy out

Thanks for this well done recap Mauricio. Your filling in is greatly appreciated.

I don't see why Padre Juan can't tell Verónica a number of important details without betraying the secrecy of the confessional. He most certainly can inform her that Dimitrio was Martín's brother and give her the details surrounding his death. This is general information not revealed as part of a confession by Martín.

However, I'd think that after the last couple of evenings and then the sword fight that she already has plenty of very good reasons to dump his sorry butt.

I wonder if Dr. Fernandez might not be a likely prospect to fill in for Dr. Botel?

Carlos

Mauricio, thanks so much for jumping in with this eleventh hour recap and doing such an excellent job of it.

Daisynjay, I'm so glad you mentioned the weird editing. I was completely disoriented by the fencing scene. In fact, at first, I thought it was meant to be a dream (or nightmare) sequence.

Oh well. Despite all the literal and narrative disconnects, I have to agree with the gringo: The story is drawing me in deeper and deeper.

Thanks, Mauricio, for keeping us in the loop of current events. Enjoyed your recap.

Vero's really a trouper, putting up with Crazy Marty and determined to stick with him "for better or worse." He's an idiot though, saying if she can't figure out why he's angry, then he won't tell her. If she won't go back to the city, maybe she needs to move into the hotel.

Virginia is totally despicable, but doing excellent work in this role. Maybe Dr. Dan should be the replacement doc in Mina Escondida. Not so much scope for his special talents there, but I'm ok with that.

Thanks, Mauricio , for that excellent retelling.

Let's hope that Bottle stays off the bottle during his trip.

I have been counting Very's outfits because I remember that small suitcase she dragged up that path. She had the sexy nightgown, the outfit for dinner, the outfit for fencing, her cleaning clothes. It must be one of those magical suitcases.I'd like to have one of those.

Thank you, Mauricio, for stepping in and doing such a great job. Next week it's definitely my turn, so I'll have something ready.
Vero should run back home, but I kind of dig CrazyMarty - he really makes things harder for himself, doesn't he?
Daisy, the editing is really crappy sometimes. Something similar happened after their non wedding night - we got Vero saying that she'll wait for him, then Marty shows up, smells her hair and goes to sleep on a chair. The next morning they are shown having a chat with Pierre about breakfast, but nothing of Vero 's reaction when she woke up and didn't see him next to her. I think the writers have no clue how to explain away the lack of actual intimacy in the couple, so they choose to ignore it. How else would Vero want to save a marriage that hasn't even been consummated?

Question for anyone who can reply. I attended catholic schools all my life though I myself am not catholic. I remember that in religion class we learned something along the lines of a priest can tell someones confession to the authorities if that priest believes peoples lives are in danger. So my question is does that rule not exist in telenovelas or can we hope that padre Juan uses this loop hole?

Thanks everyone for all the comments.

It's so irresponsible of Botel to be leaving the town without a doctor. He should have made the preparations a long time ago for a replacement when he decided that he would be leaving town with Magdalena.

LatinaInMD: Thanks for the explanation about the Prado Castelo's having a big property. It now makes sense how Virginia and Daniel weren't caught while during their little fling in the garden.

Now that I'm home and have finished feeding my child and our dog, I can continue with my comments:

In the scene where Martin leaves Vero all "hot and bothered" once again, the last thing he says to her is: "I'm sick of all this and I'm sick of you!!!" Ouch, Marty. That line made me consider taking a step or two away from the Martin Table on the Patio, at least until I stopped fuming and wanting Vero to smack him for it.

When Martin re-enters the bedroom and Vero is asleep, he already has tears running down his face as he stands at the door and his face is still wet when he gets on the bed and "spoons" with her. I'm a light sleeper, so I would usually agree with Daisynjay's observation that Vero should have been awakened when Martin spooned her, especially when it's likely that the tears on her cheek would get her wet. But, I also know that I can sleep through almost anything when I am absolutely exhausted. I believe that was Vero's first night at Mina Escondida, after spending her wedding night traveling by plane, road and river boat, spending her second night all "hot and bothered" and alone in the French hotel, and then spending this particular day busy cleaning up the "pigsty" her hubby brought her to live in.

Re: Ana Perla calling Pablo a "fueren~o" - this word means "outsider", not "foreigner".

@Kirby - Martin told Vero when they arrived at their pigsty that there IS electricity but is not very reliable, as it comes and goes often.

@Kirby - I'm feeling slightly better, at least well enough to go to work today. Still on heavy painkillers though. The "house call" from Dr. Feelgood sounds tempting, I must say.

@Susanlynn- the suitcase situation. Well, at least Ana Brenda is small and they are summer-type clothes, so they don't take up much room. (BTW, in the scene where she meets up with Pablo, he tells her that he brought her another suitcase that her aunt Salma sent her.)

Thanks LatinaInMD for filling in what I missed. I mostly did the recap from memory so I missed a few things.

I'm not sure what to think of Nanciyaga. Her flirting and seducing Martin felt so out of character for her.

Mauricio, thanks for the excellent recap.

About the choppy editing. Did anyone notice in the bedroom scene where Vero is hugging Marty, telling him that she wants him and is leaning in for a kiss and then a very noticable cut in the scene. Strange thing it cuts to them still standing there, but I was left wondering if a kiss or anything happened at all.

BTW, I think Ivan Sanchez is doing an excellent job with this role. I can see the torment he is suffering on his facial expressions.

Hasta pronto

Settling differences by fencing...this won't end too well LOL!!!!!!

And basicly martin is still a jackass. This man don't know what the hell he is doing. He's exhausted, Im exhausted for him, but not for the same reason. His is from misguided imformation, mine, from working hard this week on a job I love. Ok tonights episode is on by yall.

Steve: You're right. Of course fencing is cheaper than couples therapy. LOL

@AuntyAnn - in the bedroom scene, there wasn't any kiss, nothing was cut out; I can't recall for sure, but it could be that there was a commercial break at that point in the original Televisa broadcast in Mexico.

LatinaInMD: Thanks for the info on the bedroom scene. It's good to know that Uni left it intact.

Thank you mauricio, you were short and to the point. Hit most of the good stuff. Veronica should find that coword manuel and give him a good prick with her sword, let him know what it feels like to be stabbed. I can't stand him either. I think nancy is still learning everybody. Seeing what kind of stuff they 're made of. She's studying the new people. This girl is smart, she's not stupid at all. ¿what if Nancy is the daughter of jorge that he never knew he had? Did he dig for gold on that island before he got rich. Padre juan might know some secrets. just trying to keep it interesting. We've been watching the martin and Veronica show for the past 2 weeks. LoL!!! Hahahaha!!!!
Ok comments on the new stuff tomorrow.
Happy weekend people:-)

Meanwhile, Virginia Peralta spewing her outright hatred towards Veronica yet again!
