Amores con Trampa #55 ... Isabela keeps falling deeper and deeper into passional insanity...

Refritos:
The animal protection folks arrive and announce they are there because there was an accusation/complaint of animal abuse. They tell Maria, grandma, et al that you can’t have animals like these in this area, and that the complaint/accusation came from Isabela Bocceli de Velasco.
Said Isabela is with Frederick in her house… he wants her to come along to some sale event. She can’t leave the house.  He will go alone to the bank to solicit a limit-less credit card (yeah right, like they will hand it to you).
Back in the ruckus outside, Facu won’t let the men take the animals.   He tells the guys that their animals are well loved and taken care of.  Porfirio comes and seconds Facu’s statement.
The guys insist they have to take the animals away… grandma, gusana and Jacinto get in the ‘leave ‘ em here!’ team. Andres is just a few yards away watching the action…
Maria sneaks away… she is steaming angry and heading in a direct line toward Isabel who is now with Conchita saying some yoga/spiritual hymn… with headphones on… they don’t see or hear Maria until Maria is right on top of Isabel ripping her headphones away.  Conchita gets stuttering scared while Isa screams bloody murder and Maria starts following her around the huge fountain area.  Isabel and Maria end up in the water… Maria seems to be in her zone while Isabela keeps screaming/whealing and yelling for help. COnchita comes to try to help her but only gets wet too.  Now the threesome are dancing some strange ring around the rosie game around one of the fountains.
Suddenly Maria all dripping wet comes in her house, still angry.  She won’t tell and it is not until Grandma and Porfirio try to get her to speak… that she responds.  She has a really weird scary voice as if she were now a zombie… threats Facu not to leave the house… she heads right back out. Facu is scared and runs after her.  Grandma does not let Porfirio do anything… Gusana approaches him and says she understands him, not so the oxygenated blonde across the street.
Beto comes to Isabel’s store to visit Rocio. Rocio is glad to see him and opens up to him, sayings he is tired of the life she is running and the family she is living with.  She does not want to talk about the reality, rather close her eyes and enjoy this very moment. They are about to kiss when a customer lady comes in asking about the wraps that Maria had made and they sold at the store. The lady insists asking Rocio to look in the back closets… Rocio assures her they don’t have any more in the store.  The lady leaves. Beto asks if she was asking about the wraps his mom was making. Rocio says yes, ladies come asking for them daily. IF your mom kept making them she would become a millionaire.

Back at the Velasco house, Isabel is on the phone… she is talking about suffering from a trauma she calls ‘acute rancheritis’.  Seems she is on phone with her psychiatrist.  Santee comes in and does not recognize Isabel due to her behavior. He asks her what she is smoking… she hugs him and says it was Maria who almost killed her for accusing/complaining about them to the animal protection agency.  Santee reprimends her for messing with / provoking Maria again.  Isabel says look what she did to me!! (he asks what?? Then realizes she is freaking out because Maria got her wet).  Isabel grabs a dress and says she will get payback where it hurts Maria most… the big prize (I guess she means Facundo).
Gusana and Jacinto are playing with Margarito. They are trying to dress Margarito up to make him pass as a dog so the guys won’t take him.  Facu comes in and assures them no one will take any animals from this house… as sure as my name is Facundo Carmona! …
At dinner table Facu announces that the guys from the animal protection agency will come visit tomorrow to see how well they care for the animals… From there the subject changed suddenly to again arguments between Perpetua and Porfirio about boiled eggs…
Doorbell rings… again… and again… and again…  Conchita announces that the police are there asking for Maria.  They say they have a legal suit against Maria from her neighbor Isabel Velasco. They have to take Maria to the police station now.  Facu protests, assures they they won’t take Maria anywhere!!  The guys remind Facundo they represent the authorities. Maria comes and says she will go with them.  Meanwhile Jacinto has brought Lalita and the calf hits the guy in the rear (or the guy just sees the calf) and the guy faints to the floor.  Now they are taking Facundo away too as well as Maria.
Esteban and Estefi are talking about who the baby will look like… The doctor is back.  The doctor is a bit confused, kind of amused that Esteban has brought him two women with ‘child’ problems. Esteban says now he wants to know if Estefi is pregnant.
At the Velasco’s Feli and Rocio are in living room with Isabel and Santee, Rocio wants to question Isa for accusing Maria.  Isa calls them traitors, so Fel and Rocio run out. But Santee and Isa won’t let Alejandra go with them.
Back to the hospital. Esteban wants to know RIGHT NOW!!!  Doctor says its 99.9% sure that Esteban will not be a parent now either… He tells Estefi that she is not going to be a mother… and offers to give Esteban a checkup of his prostate LOL!!.
Feli and Rocio are at the Carmonas sort of apologizing for Isabel and saying they are definitely not part of it.  Grandma sort of takes it on them but Beto and Carmen defend them and make Grandma rethink it. Porfirio says Maria is just a hair away from being a Saint.  Jacinto suddenly has the need to run to you know where…  Grandma says to add insult to injury the guys from the animal protection are coming tomorrow. They tell Rocio and Feli about Isa causing that too.
Back to hospital… Esteban tells Estefi to not implicate him… he would have liked for her to be preggers with Santee’s kid… Estefi laughs about if she were, she would love to see Puchi’s (Isa’s) face when she found out.  Esteban says we just have to keep trying.  Estefi thinks to herself that the one she would like to keep trying is Facu.  But she voices a confirmation to Esteban that she will keep trying with Santee.
Santee and Isa are now alone in their living room. He is trying to give her a guilt trip… she has the typical Isabel reaction ‘what about me?? What about the trauma I went through?’  She assures her she is not thinking about Facu. He says he would rather say Facu is ALL she cares about.  But too bad for you that he rejected you time and time again.  She gets desperate, wants to take her drops/meds.  She is dipping the entire bottle in her mouth and he is trying to stop her. She yells that he can’t play marriage counselor with her and she even makes a reference to ‘Laura’ (not Laura Bozzo, is it?)
At Carmona’s… Beto is nervous, Grandma is trying to calm him … Facu and Maria come home… Conchita offers to prepare her a bath and tila tea.  Facu announces that they will need to show up in court soon.  But at least Maria was released.  Grandma is angry, shouts to Facu.  Maria tries to defend him.  Facu tells Maria not to worry about anything.
A new day… Isabel is dreaming now that she is shopping and her credit cards are topped out.  She has some weird clips and rollers on her hair… she only came for some shoes that she must have, but the guy is shoving her out of the store…  it all happens in some small closet size box.  Santee wakes her up… tells her she is worse than the Carmona’s rooster.  Then he basically says she has a shallow head (no brains).
Then they all are at a mass for some lady named Malena Boscelli (is this the mass for Rocio’s mother? I guess so. Since Feli, Rocio and Alejandra are there with Santee, Isabel and Frederick… ) Feli thinks to himself that he was able to spend so little time with his mom and tells her how much he missed her… The mass is over.  They all leave, except Rocio.  She stays there to pray… same lines.. she misses her mom so much… its been so long since she left… she can’t find resignation, begs God to give it to her.
Isabel has also stayed behind… she is actually whispering her prayer… she tells the Virgencita that she knows why Isabel has to keep quiet (we did learn last night at the elevator that Feli and Rocio are actually her kids, not her nephew and niece… unless she is lying of course). She knows she’s hurting them.  She doesn’t know why she behaves this way. Since Facundo arrived at her life, he was so kind and so loving with his family that she could not help but fall in love with him. She knows its wrong, because Facu is married to a good woman and she (Isa) is also married to a good man… but she is in love… and God knows this feeling is stronger than anything… She begs for help from God to take Facu out of her heart. She knows Facu can’t be hers… she wants to stop feeling this (love)… she begs for help to be a better person…and asks for forgiveness for having abandoned Jesus…
Later on at dinner table, everyone is quiet.  Jacinto asks for Maria. Facu tells them she is resting… but then Maria shows up… she won’t stay away because of the tarugada that Isabela pulled on her. She says we all have to be ready for the visit from the folks from the animal protection agency.
Seems this was right after the mass… the Velascos are back home. Santee congratulates Isabel for the ceremony/mass she asked for. IT was nice and he is proud of her.  Santee calls their attention to the silence… its been a while since they were together in peace as a family. Isabel breaks the moment by saying she hopes the folks from the animal protection agency are not at the Carmonas. Santee rants at her for talking only about them.  Rocio adds on to the rant asking Isabel why she keeps fighting a war on the neighbors.  Isabel says there has to be some level or order. Santee rants that there must be order in their own household first. Santee, Feli and Rocio end up walking out and saying they will have breakfast somewhere else. Santee will drop Alejandra off at school on the way. So Isabel ends up all alone at table. Isa ends up inviting Conchita to sit at the table with her to enjoy the food.  Isabel then tells Conchita that she needs to declare in her favor at the court session. Conchita jumps up from her chair and says she can’t do that…  She loves her whole family but she can’t stand Isabel’s behavior.  Isa mocks her asking if she will work again for the Carmonas.  Conchita says not funny.  She walks away on Isa also.  Isa paces around the dining room all by herself talking as the victim, no one of them respect or consider me.  She again takes more of her drops (those that are slowly making her more and more insane).
The Carmonas all have some leis on their neck and the ladies hair, including Petunia the cow… when the agency guys arrive.  The agency guys explain that they have too many animals for it being an urban location so they have to evaluate all the animals individually.  Facundo tells the family that they won’t get anywhere by getting too rough on the agency guys.

Previews:  At gym, Isabel and Maria have a confrontation…  Isabel dares Maria to get used to the idea that … (we don’t hear but I would say its about who ends up with Facu)

Thank you Marta! I'm looking forward to it.

Best part of the night- the customer who wanted one of Maria's shawls and Beto's obvious pride for his mom.

Isa can just save those crocodile tears. They are not working on me.

Wonderful recap as always!!

After Feli said something to himself about missing his mom's smile, i thought that my brilliant spec about there being no sister must be wrong. Did I read too much into Isas statement about them being her hijos? Maybe she just meant they felt like her hijos after all? Mystery still open. It would be awful if their mom was still alive but abandoned them.

Thank you, Marta, for the fantastic recap. It was very enjoyable!

My favorite parts from last night:

Margarito being dressed in disguise.
Conchita refusing to lie for Isabel.

Sara, you are so right about Isabel and those crocodile tears. Felipe and Rocío's reactions/ prayers at the memorial mass were believable, Isabel's not so much.

Jarifa

Thanks so much, Marta.

Maybe the parents are in jail and didn't abandon them. Like Ale's mom in Robo.

Once again Isa can't allow a nice family moment to last more than two seconds without ruining it.

Nanette

Thank you Marta! As always I'm in awe of your being to get these highly detailed recaps up so quickly. I wish my brain fired on all cylinders like yours does. Caray is lucky to have you.

I'm hoping that if Beto as the first born MALE talks to Fac, then maybe Maria can get back to shawl making. And has anyone even told her how wildly popular that are??

Nanette- so true. Isa can't let anyone be happy. I'm glad the all walked out.

Jarifa- I'm glad I wasn't the only one suspicious of those tears! She fooled me earlier this week. I'm not falling so easily again.

Carvivlie - if he can't remember her face I still think the possibility is open that Isa is the mom.

Marta, your recap was spectacular. As Sara noted, Caray (and we) are so lucky to have you!

“At gym, Isabel and Maria have a confrontation… Isabel dares Maria to get used to the idea that … (we don’t hear but I would say its about who ends up with Facu)”. Oh my, Isa’s ego continues to grow unabated, doesn’t it? But, color me confused. In what world does she think calling animal control and filing a lawsuit against Maria will endear her to Facundo??

I am so happy Maria’s shawls continue to be in demand. I hope Beto tells Maria and that she sets up production on her own. It would be nice if her Neanderthal husband gets behind her. I can’t believe I just said that as Eduardo is my ultimate man but Facundo is a chauvinist who does not appreciate Maria nor understand she is talented and deserves more than a life in the family kitchen.

Marta, thank you, thank you!

Diana

I know right? Fac loves his animals, Fac loves his family. Going after those things is going to alienate him. Isa is doing it wrong. She really is the most confusing character.

Marta- Fabulous job as always! I won't get to watch this episode until later, so will hold off on comments until then. I'm looking forward to it, though. Off to brunch!

Marta, terrific recap. My hat is off to you for how you capture the odd goings-on, like Now the threesome are dancing some strange ring around the rosie game around one of the fountains. And thanks for making sense of Isa’s “Laura” comment.

They keep teasing us with the return of Maria’s shawl business. I like that Beto might be the one to give his mom a nudge. Too bad Fac is too busy fighting against his feelings for Isa to do something for Maria.

Despite her dirty doings, Fac, IMO, is still attracted to Isa. I’m just sitting in wait of Maria finally having her “bucket” moment and giving Fac the heave-ho. I think maybe we got a glimpse of that when she got back from the waterfight with Isa. If looks could kill. Diana, you know how I feel about EY (sigh!), but I can't even stand to see Maria sitting congenially next to Fac at the dinner table. Fac is so undeserving of her right now.

Funniest scenes: Esteban with the doc coming up negative again for a baby. Esteban and Estefany do make two funny villains together. And how can I forget Magarito in disguise -- too cute.

"I can't even stand to see Maria sitting congenially next to Fac at the dinner table. Fac is so undeserving of her right now".

As always Niecie, you write what I was thinking and state it so well and better than I could have.

I'm not feeling any spark, any flicker of a great love. I'm getting the sense they are together because of their history, their family. Seeing Facundo sidetracked by the unappealing Isa character is beyond frustrating.

Diana

If I may join the Fac pile on (and be aware I over think everything)...

When the animal control people first showed up Fac says "these are our animals. We love our animals!"

Then he proceeded to kiss Maria. The word" chattel popped into my head. He lumps her along with all his "property."

Jerk.

Maybe Isa's taunt to Maria in the previews was to get under her skin and not because Isa believes she can win Fac. Of course, she is taking those crazy drugs. She might actually believe she can still win him over.

I wondered when the wanna bes showed up in the shawls if we were going to see a resurgence of Maria making them again. Last night's ep seems to confirm it.

And did you see Beto's face as he listened to the customer? He's so proud of his mom. I really love Beto. He just warms my heart.

So does Spunky Susana. Always in strike mode when someone threatens her family.

Sara, "chattel" nailed it. What a perfect word!

I think Fac's heart is in the right place, but his thought process is convoluted. He needs to step into the 21st century and get a clue.

Nanette, I don't know what Isa thinks but the fact that Facundo hasn't told her off is confounding. She is threatening all that he claims to love (Maria and his family of animals), yet we've not seen anything to prove he is in the least bit disenchanted! Grumble, grumble.

Diana

Sara, Maria and Beto do have amazing children. All.

That is what makes Facundo's actions (and inaction) maddening and puzzling.

Diana

Gee, if Fac could just get with the late 20th century that would be progress.

Sara and Nanette, been meaning to say I love both your avatars!

Diana

I'm really not surprised the children turned out so well.

Up to this point, there has not been a lot of family strife.

They saw Maria and Fac interact with their own parents in a loving and respectful way.

And there is a lot to be said for spending a lot of time outdoors and having the responsibilities of chores and animal care.

Santi and Isa have great kids too. The only one who seemed the worst off was Rocío. She was very adrift when this started.

She's also the one that has suffered the most from Isa.

I wonder what would have happened with poor Ale if the Carmonas hadn't shown up.

Sara, great observation about Maria being chattel. You hit it on the head. This novela has me really thinking about the way marriages have changed between the 1960's (I would say) and now with reference to the responsibilities and the expectations of each partner but that is another discussion for another time.

The Velasco kids have my sympathy for having to grow up with Isabel and her addictions which include always being the martyr and making sure nobody else is happy. I am sure Santiago has tried his best but his addiction to his Puchis does the kids no good.

Jarifa

It's like Isa is the head of her house and she runs it with emotional blackmail and abuse and Fac controls his family with an iron fist tempered with more affection.

But basically everyone is afraid of them.

You know it's kind of scary, but Isa was kind of right. She and Fac do seem to have more in common.

I'm watching right now so forgive my comment bombing. :)

The water fight looked like fun. I bet the actresses had a good time.

Love how Santi keeps referring to Maria as Dona Maria, no matter how disrepsectfully Isa refers to her.

Loved how the family and Conchita formed a human chain to protect Maria. The cops looked scared. LOL.

It was great seeing Rocio also designing dresses. I see a collaboration between her and Maria in the future. Yes, I really hope Beto encourages both Maria and Rocio.

Estefi and Esteban are a trip together. Arguing over who's prettier. Ha!

Isa called Rocio and Feli her sobrinos in her prayer to the Virgin, so I'm not convinced they are her bio kids.

Isn't it odd that they are having a mass for their dead mother but not their dead father? Why?

Oooo. Good question!

Weren't we led to believe early on that the father was an undesirable some how?

Jarifa

Feli and Rocío certainly seem to care more about their mom.

Even if he were a "no good" as Isa claims, wouldn't his kids still want a mass said for his soul to rest in peace? Just seems odd to me.

I'm probably just making this up, but is the dad in jail? Or am I just assuming that based on Isa saying he's a nogoodnik? They've done a lot of confusing taking I'm starting to realize. Hijos and sobrinos. Have they said clearly that both parents are dead? I don't have a head for details on a good day.

Sara, it was my impression that both of the parents were dead. I "think" that they told us that way back when. But who knows? So funny! That is the only problem with a lot of action (that I love) in these novelas. They are so long that I start not remembering what I heard where if I heard it at all.

Vivi, I think Isabel would be enough of a "grudger" to deny him a mass. Look how she treats those she supposedly loves. Seriously, I hope we get more info on him, too, and how well he knew Isabel. Just wondering.

Jarifa

Yup. I have the same problem, Jarifa. And sometimes I remember our guesses better than the real action.

And I think we're getting a lot of red herrings. It doesn't help me at all. Lol.

I don't mind admitting that I depend heavily on Vivi :-)

Yes, Vivi can keep us on the straight amd narrow!

Jarifa

LOL! You ladies are funny. :)

But it is the truth! ;)

Jarifa

Don't forget Mystery Dude.

Oh I haven't forgotten him!

And question...well more like thinking aloud....

Esteban and Estefy= in cahoots to swindle Santi and I assume break up his marriage.

Esteban and Mireya= in cahoots to drive Isa crazy. Um... Why?

I assume these two ladies don't know the other exists.

Mireya and Mystery Dude- I can't remember their goal and why they are together.

And I also assume Esteban has no clue MM exists.

Mystery Dude also wanted to drive Isabel crazy.

Jarifa

Ok. So if MM and Esteban have the same goal, does Esteban know about MM? They really presented it like Mireya and MM were independent of Esteban.

We also still don't know who Isa has spoken with on the phone about driving Rocio loco before the mystery date. Maybe Mireya's MM is also Isa's MM.

That's a lot of Ms! Lol.

About Isa saying that she and Fac had more in common. I think she said they were both ambitious and bold, or something like that. They both definitely want to control their families and have their own way. But there's been foreshadowing about Maria (her dream/nightmare of business success and Rocio telling Beto that Maria could become a millionaire with the shawls). Got my fingers crossed that Maria will turn out to be the boldest of them all, with or without Facundo.

Wondering how much Esteban knows about Isa. He seems to know more about her past than Santi does and had threatened to reveal something before his accident.

Yes, that's what she said. And that the both went after what they wanted. So, that would make it super sweet if Maria went all in with the shawls. I would love for Rocío to help her. I suspect Beto will have to help her convince Fac. That sort of annoys me though. She shouldn't have to beg Fac to let her do this.

News flash- Antes Muerta que Lichita will premiere in Mexico on Monday August 24. I assume this means AcT ends August 21 in Mexico. So this will be a short one. We're only 19ish episodes behind.

And oh great gods of Univision programming please give us Antes Muerta que Lichita next.

Thanks for the noticias!

Jarifa

I love this show, but I'm thrilled they are keeping it short. I feel like that means it will stay good all the way to the end.

Just read that they decided not to lengthen it. Sure agree that will ensure its quality. Great decision.

I cannot wait til tonight!

Jarifa

Actually didn’t watch the first half of Friday’s ep until last night.

Isa’s and Maria’s fight was them splashing each other with water?! How funny. Also liked the fast motion.

Loved:

Susana and her little fists ready to take on the cops.

Granny bringing the gun to Gramps.

I thought at first Ale went over to the Carmonas, too. Thought it was so funny that they all went there. Didn’t see her, so she must have gone into the bedroom, but loved the Valasco kids’ solidarity with the Carmonas.

Those things in Isa’s hair during her dream looked like security tags they put on clothes.

I also hope that Beto encourages Maria to make her shawls.

I thought Estefany and Esteban looked cute together.

So happy they aren't extending this one!!!! Let's hope it becomes a trend.

Nanette, yes! to that being a trend!!!

Jarifa

Considering all the mystery they've injected into this one it's a very good thing they decided to keep it short. I don't have that great of an attention span when it comes to mysteries.

I'm going to hate it if the only way Maria has of keeping Fac in line is to do a makeover. That won't send a very good message.

I'm OK with a makeover if it's Maria's idea and it's more like an update than a makeover (similar to Carmen's subtle update.) And by her idea I mean she just decides she wants to. Not just to get Fac.

I think every woman wants a style change now and again. And in her own dream she saw herself as glamorous.

It would be neat if she updated because she's more in the spotlight because of her shawls. ;-)

But you're right. A complete and drastic change just to keep a man would send a wrong message.

And I so love your little piglet, Nanette.

Sara: I agree. A makeover because she wants to for herself is great. One to keep Facstupido interested--not so great.

Isn't my piglet the biggest cutie-patootie face ever!?

Facstupido es estupendo!

And yes. Cutest patootie on the planet!

OT: Saw a trailer for AMQL. Looks cute.

Also OT- not ashamed to admit that I'll watch anything with Maite.

Hello friends. Having computer issues - need to get it fixed. Hope to be back with all of you soon!

Diana

Bless your for letting us know, Diana! I would have worried. Truly. Hope to see you soon!

And Eva, if you see this, I miss you at the Diego table!

Thanks, Diana, for letting us know where you have been. Looking forward to your return.

Jarifa

Sara: I miss Eva's comments. Really enjoy them. I'm getting a little worried, too.
