Lo Imperdonable #29 Thu 6/25/15 Everybody has a grave to visit

Martin has his almost “Visit the grave and complain” scene. This time he admits that he loves Veronica, so he needs to make a decision. But what will that be? To some ominous choir music, he explains that he doesn’t want to let Dim down, but he can’t take it anymore. Could his bro send him a sign, show him what he should do?
The monologue finished, he calls for Lorenzo to come help him. Lorenzo thinks that the dead always send messages, at least that’s what Nancyaga says. Dim was a good man, he will send some help from up above.
And there flies a white dove, settling on Dim’s cross, which makes an impression on Lorenzo. Martin is not sure if he believes in these kind of things, though (this, after he just asks his brother for a sign – Dim and Dimmer).

Magda tells Jorge that she came to see Salma, but since she’s away, she will leave now. He offers to give her a ride in his car and forget about taking a cab the next time she wants to visit – she can call and he will send his driver for her. As the two leave, Matilde is left shaken to the core by her earlier talk with Magda about Vero.

Joaquin comes to search for Martin and tells Vero that the miners are doing better now. She doesn’t know where her husband is, but does he know where Dim’s tomb is? Could he take her to it? Joaquin really doesn’t want to, the padrecito might get upset with him. Vero doesn’t see why that would happen and she doesn’t care if the cemetery is far, Joaquin could just show her the way and then go about his business. He reluctantly agrees and they go on their way, unaware that Nancy is watching them.

Ana Perla is crying – again. Julio can’t stand to see her unhappy, he’s worried that she might be sick. Well, sick of a broken heart, Perla admits, while going into Julio’s willing arms. Poor handsome guy, Pablo’s got nothing on you!
He pulls away after a moment, reminding her that she is his patrona. No! None of that, they are amigos, and he always makes her feel calm. Well, for her well-being, he is even capable of going over Don Crescencio’s orders, so he’s there for her, no matter what.

Martin is at the mine, talking to the workers about their future plans. Everyone is ready and willing to work. Nancy comes with the news that Vero has gone to see the other patron, Dim.

Magda and Botel meet the PI who tells them that he has news about Aaron Martinez – the guy is dead. Magda is relieved, because this means that the man who has made her suffer so much will never be in the position to hurt her again, but she’s not willing to believe that he’s really dead until she sees his grave.

At the local cantina Crescencio and Manuel talk about the show Claudia put on the other night. Abuelo scolds Manuel, asks him to go to work. Then he reprimands him some more when Manuel is rude to the waitress.

Virginia talks to Emiliano on the phone. Then, as her tios come in, she quickly turns off her laptop. She’s feeling better, but she is kind of tired, she thinks she’ll take a nap. The tios let her rest and as soon as they’re gone, she reopens her laptop and starts typing a message that can only be directed at Daniel: he needs to stay close to Claudia and keep her busy. He has her permission to do whatever he likes, but without over-doing it (whatever that means).
As soon as the message is over, Virginia wonders how she could send it – a fax would be seen by everybody. She needs to find a way to call him.

Veronica has come to Dim’s grave with flowers. Martin and Nancy are there, too, spying from behind a tree. Veronica tearfully remembers moments she spent with Dim in the past – the two of them at work, in a restaurant having dinner, during a fencing match. Vero’s last flashback is of Dim and Virginia talking about something - we can see it was a rather serious argument and he’s carrying some papers, but Vero watches on, unsuspecting.
Back to the present day, Vero wonders out loud what made him come to this place. Martin decides to come closer, to listen to what she’s saying. She remembers how bad she felt after he left – he had been her teacher, her friend, her confidante, and yet he chose to leave even after she told him that it didn’t matter… What didn’t matter is left up in the air, because she doesn’t continue this phrase, but instead remembers how once he told her about the way his brother always encouraged him to fight for what he wanted. This is what she’s trying to do now, too, fight for Martin, because she loves him. And she knows that Dim knew him, too – they are both extraordinary people.
Martin listens to the whole thing and is impactado. Did he still doubt Veronica’s dedication to him after his crappy treatment?
The white dove is still around and Nancy whispers to Martin that the bird is a sign of…. I didn’t get the word, no matter how hard I tried – all I could understand was “descarlado”. Does that make any sense for you?
At the grave, Vero goes on about missing Dim very much. She still remembers their last meeting, and she’s so sad that it was such a bitter one. Promising that she will always love him, she leaves, without seeing Martin, who seems to be shattered.

Back at the cantina, the owner reminds Crescencio that Martin and Daniel helped save the miners and without them the casualties would have been far greater. Eh, well, the good in the bad is not better than the bad in the good – this is my very loose translation, basically Crescencio would have preferred for dozens of people to die than to have to strangers who never harmed him in the village.
Claudia walks in and Manuel ogles her and says that she’s dressed inappropriately. Crescencio demands that he go to work now, but as soon as the pest is gone, he tells Claudia that she should stop dressing that way because someone might attack her. She couldn’t care less about his opinion or fashion sense, she just came to bring him the documents that he needs to sign.
Crescencio will do no such thing, how could Martin allow for a woman to be in charge of such important matters? Surely, they must be wrong, since she was the one to redact them, so he’ll need some time to look them over. To her credit, Claudia doesn’t even blink at his several insults, she insists that he needs to sign them now because she’s in a hurry to fax them to Mexico. Pierre walks in, willing to help her and finally convinces Crescencio to put his name on the papers.

Perla and Polo are walking around by the lake, when Pablo comes to show her the drawing he made. And he didn’t even need the model, he did it all from memory…..zzzzzzz

Back with Botel and Magdalena, they are on their way to Aaron’s grave, talking about her suspicion that Veronica might be her daughter. Now that Matilde told her that the girl had been adopted, this could actually be possible. Botel doesn’t think that she should get her hopes up or bother the Prado Castellos too much. Magda doesn’t care who she bothers, as long as she finds her daughter.

Pablo and Perla are at their hidden place in the woods. She is standing still, with her head covered by a blue shawl, while he’s drawing her. Now she really feels like a saint, who has people staring all the time. A saint? No such thing, Pablo seems to think, as he puts away the pencil and gives Perla an unsaintly kiss. She kind of pulls away, but only for a moment.
They are interrupted anyway by Blanquita, who comes with very bad news – maestra Jovita has passed away.

Claudia explains to Martin how Crescencio treated her bad, but she managed to get the documents signed. Martin wants her to go back to DF, take care of the materials that he needs for the mine. She doesn’t want to leave him alone, Alfredo can take care of work – she is worried for him, because he’s not happy. He looks upset, afraid, and she knows he only married Vero out of revenge.
Martin is surprised that she would know that. Claudia denies that Alfredo told her anything, she just overheard him and put two and two together. Veronica doesn’t deserve him, he can’t ruin his life for whatever she did to him in the past. He’s a good guy, he can’t destroy himself over this.
She seems very genuine and carrying, but we know she has a hidden agenda – and sure enough, her last plea is for him to leave Vero in the village, if he wants her to suffer and he can come back with her to the city.
Martin asks her to forget about this and go back to the city if she wants for the two of them to maintain their friendship. Claudia accuses him of becoming a bitter man because of the mujercita.

Veronica is at the church. The padrecito wonders if she cried because of Martin, but she explains that this time he’s not the reason. She just visited Dim’s grave. She doesn’t get why Martin wouldn’t tell her about it. The padre has no explanations left when it comes to Martin’s behavior, all he can advise her is to leave the village as soon as possible. She is surprised that he didn’t ask her to stay and fight for her marriage and her religious vows, but she won’t go – she can’t and she won’t. In her heart she knows that Martin is good and fighting for him is worth the pain. She will help him get rid of his demons. Padrecito prays that she succeed in her quest, but as soon as Vero leaves Nancy shows up, scared, letting him know that a storm is coming.

Still at the cantina Claudia is drinking tequila alone. The owner’s daughter thinks that she’s had too much and with those high heels, she won’t be able to leave the place on her own two feet. Claudia doesn’t care about this, she asks the girl to call her “tu” and says that she’s drinking because she needs some guts to say what she never dared to say before.
They start talking about Claudia’s singing skills. One could even say that she’s a famous artist. What if before she goes back to the city, she starts singing at their cantina once in a while?
Pierre, who has nothing better to do than troll the local cantina, shows up again and encourages Claudia to sing. She doesn’t know when she’ll be back, though, or if she’ll have the time for artistic activities – she’s not a millionaire, she has to work for a living (hint, hint, nudge, nudge). He invites her to his hotel, but she can’t go, she still needs to meet her boss before she leaves the village later.

At Crescencio’s mine, the miners are making plans for the two mines to pull through together. Crescencio is all for it, so much so that he asks his good for nothing grandson to start working immediately. The pest doesn’t like it, but he has to obey, so off he goes to do some digging, with the other miners looking on and rightfully mocking him.

Perla and Blanquita are mourning the maestra. Perla feels guilty because she should have been at school, helping the teacher instead of spending all that time with Pablo. Crescencio is there, too, but luckily doesn’t hear the Pablo part.
Everybody wonders who will take Jovita’s place. Perla is too young and too inexperienced to be a teacher, she doesn’t even have the necessary degrees.

Magda and Botel arrive at Aaron’s grave. She is relieved to know that her ex will never be able to harm her again and now she feels that her daughter is closer than ever.
This is when Botel sees another grave, one that has Veronica’s name on it. What? Magda sees it, too, and faints.

Pablo comes to see Perla in the classroom. She’s still upset because she abandoned the teacher. And she’s tired of always having to lie and of all the hiding; and not only from the Abuelo, but from his novia, too. Just as she said before, she’s not willing to see him anymore, until he breaks-up with the other girl.

Martin and Veronica meet outside their house. He’s bleeding again, so Vero scolds him for not resting – this way he’ll never get better.
He doesn’t care about that now, he only left because he was searching for her. He wanted to tell her that she was right, he has to learn how to forgive. He thinks that they deserve a second chance (when did they have the first one?). So, if she still wants him, how about if they start over.
She’s barely believing her ears, the hope in her eyes is almost painful to watch. She does manage to ask why the sudden change.
Because he loves her madly and he can’t fight his feelings anymore!
Boom! Passionate beso that goes on and on and on…

Previews:
Magda is upset because Botel took her away from her daughter
Virginia eavesdrops on Jorge asking Salma why she always has to be so desperate when it comes to Virginia; she’s upset with the old man’s constant interference
Perla and Blanquita talk about Pablo going to the city; Perla is afraid that he won’t come back
Veronica and Martin are somewhere outside, making sweet love, between the trees, and the birds and the bees.

Thanks for the great recap!

AP is so stupid. I would be on Julio like a hot mess!

So are we taking bets on how long Martin and Vero will be a happy couple? I'm thinking two weeks worth of shows.

Muchas Gracias Adriana Noel for the detailed recap. Tonight was the episode that I have been waiting for... the episode where Martin FINALLY tells Vero he loves her and forgives her (for something she didn't do). Hopefully tonight's episode is where the actually get some action, Manuel dies from the cyanide, PervAbuelo dies of old age, Claudia dies of leg disease and V-Snake dies of a lightening strike to the headband.

Adriana - Thanks so much for such a wonderful recap.

It's too bad Magdalena doesn't watch novelas. If she did she would know that a grave means nothing. There could be rocks buried there instead of a body. I say get the body exhumed to be sure. I'd say the same about Aaron's grave. The man could still be alive.

I wanted to slap Botel when he yet again shot down the possibility that Veronica could be Magdalena's daughter. SHUT UP BOTEL!

Virginia giving Dr. F permission to do whatever he wants to keep Claudia busy but to not over do it - LOL

That was a LONG passionate kiss at the end.

Virginia still upping her ruthlessness to the extreme!

CrazyMarty goes batty again in 5..4..3..2..1 I give 2 episodes max. But at least, Vero will get some crazy love making maybe. Virginia will use any means necessary to reach her goal with Emi. Good for her at least she goes after what she wants. Maybe Aron faked his death and Vero's since we know she's alive. Thanks for the great recap.
Romy

This is really good Adriana, thank you for doing this for us.

"Dim and Dimmer"

"the hope in her eyes is almost painful to watch"

What part of break up with your gf does Pablo not understand? I don't really care about him or Ana Perla but seems the TN insist I do. With outsiders like Pablo I see Crescencio’s point.

Never thought I'd say this but thank golly we got Claudia, the only life in this thing.

It was painful watching Veronica, guess when what little self esteem she had going into the marriage is crushed and she's desperate this must be the best Christmas present ever. Won't last but it will give Veronica hope and keep her around a day or two more.

Agree with ya'll SHUT UP BOTEL, what a downer

I loved the recap, Adriana! Thanks so much!

"Martin is not sure if he believes in these kind of things, though (this, after he just asks his brother for a sign – Dim and Dimmer)."
Hahahaha! Nice!

I'm just about in hog heaven – snails, white doves, mismarked graves... Can digging up a bunch of rocks be far behind? (I see my friend Mauricio is already talking exhumation!)

Adriana, I heard (and the closed captions confirmed) "descarriados" which, in this context, must mean something like "lost sheep," or "those who have gone astray."

I didn't like Botel at all last night. (Okay, I never much like Botel.) His negative reaction to Magdalena's visit to the Prado Castelo home seemed unwarranted. Why should he worry about Magdalena 'bothering' the Prado Castelo family? And speaking of exaggerated, I was surprised by Matilde's reaction to her brief conversation with Mags. Does Matilde see Vero in Mags' face? Is she putting the pieces together? And is Botel really doing everything in his power to keep Magdalena away from her daughter? Why?

Did Dr. F tell Claudia that Pierre was rich just to distract her from pursuing Marty?

Are we doomed to watching Claudia performing in El Purgatorio? Will there be a parrot at least?

So many questions...

Novela Msven: how has Salma been doing lately in this TN ?

Carvivlie - I know, right? Julio is HOT HOT,HOT , Pablo is just so blah in comparison. Perlita is a fool, a fool, I tell you!

Laura, I see my title inspired you and you started building some more graves. A little morbid, but I loved it
"V-Snake dies of a lightening strike to the headband" - LOL

Mauricio, Jorge is being overly nice to Magda, me thinks there is something in their future.... Salma is just so unlikable with her constant adoration of all things Virginia

Romy, let her have at least a week. Maybe we should start guessing what goes wrong then, since Martin has "decided" to forgive and forget. As if...

Tofie, ITA agree about Pablo and Perla. I never care too much about b-plot protagonistas, so these two are ffw material for me most of the times. I mainly don't like the actor, I don't see his appeal and the fact that he plays your tipical telenovela galan is more of a turn off for me.
Getting a few crumbs of attention will probably make Veronica stay put for a while longer. She hasn't even been with the guy, yet and she's willing to put aside all her pride for him. Imagine if he's any good in the luuv department... hihi

NovelaMaven, thanks for the translation - I never use captions, so whenever I find a word that I actually don't know I make a note of it. I kept waiting for Vero to say something specific in her speech to Dim, but of course they had to keep her as neutral as possible. Ah, well, maybe next time.

Adriana, I last saw the actor playing Pablo in La Impostora as the galan and he was blah there too. His mother, Christian Bach, was also in that show as the antagonist.

Yeah, I remember La Impostora, I watched a few episodes at the beginning but I can never get into a show when the galan is so....
I was actually surprised to see him back at Televisa in a B plot - I think he lost his protagonista status when he left Mexico? Besides, there is so much fresh blood right now at Televisa, plenty of young ones playing main parts, the competition must be fierce.

"the hope in her eyes is almost painful to watch"

I actually shed a tear watching that scene...anyone who has been in unrequited love could relate and Martin/Ivan is soo sexxyy and guapo...that smile... I think I could forgive him anything.

Adriana, thanks for the excellent recap! Can't believe Martin wasn't believing the white dove as a sign! Hoping that Manuel can have an accident in the mine--maybe an uncoordinated swing with the pick severs the main artery in his leg. We can only hope.

Julio vs Pablo--Julio all the way!

Claudia singing in the cantina--for a group of people desperate for entertainment.

Adriana- Thanks so much. This was an excellent recap, and I hope it didn't cut too much into your summer in Paris time. :)

I laughed out loud when Martin asked for a sign from Dim, and then dismissed the WHITE DOVE sitting peacefully on his cross. Ha! OMG.

Well, I hope this truce brings us (and Vero) some hot, hot loving we've been denied.

Botel is getting on my last nerve trying to shut down Magda's hopes at every turn. Vero looks like her daughter, is around the same age, has the same name!, and was adopted, and yet she shouldn't even bother to dig a little further to see if she could be her daughter? Shut up, Botel!

A BIG thank you Adriana Noel---He asks for a sign and gets one but he doesn't believe it. ---Dim and Dimmer LMAO That deserves a gold star Adriana.

Oh and another BIG thank you for the previews. The ugly hand of censorship hasn't struck here yet. After reading the previews how can it not be must see tv?

Carvivlie---A great idea. How long will Martin and Vero be happy? You said two weeks, I think less than that. It's only a guess but I say one week max.

Laura your death count had me laughing out loud. V-Snake gets a lightning strike to
the headband.

Mauricio---You are so right. In novelas a grave means nothing. How many times have we been fooled?

Carlos your comment from yesterday was pure gold. Pierre is an equal opportunity lecher. Well that's true but to be fair to Pierre---There's not many chances for an aging guy, even one with money in a small mountain pueblo.

the gringo

Steve,
Salma hasn't featured too prominently in the last few episodes. She just keeps defending and protecting Virginia from any possible criticism.

Carlos and gringo, you gotta admit that Pierre has never made a play for Crescencio's granddaughters. At least he has the grace to chase after grown women. (what's that you say? not grace, but survival instinct? maybe so.)

@Adriana - awesome recap. The "dim and dimmer" line was spot on - typical Martin.

I must say I am also firmly at the Julio table. Recall that I told you a few weeks ago that I didn't mind having "young protagonists" because that beat getting an endless line of filler characters that we couldn't care less about; well, that was before I realized that our "young protagonists" here are exactly that...purely filler. They are an absolute bore. I can't even believe that Sebastian Zurita was ever a protagonist. He has a somewhat pretty face, but not truly handsome. But, worse yet, he is such a WOODEN actor. He transmits absolutely nothing - the only emotion he elicits from me is boredom. As for Gaby Mellado, I must say that she acted better in her deaf-mute role in CI than she is doing in this novela, and it's not completely attributable to being paired with Zurita either. She induces zzzzz too.

But I'm still loving this novela, if solely for Ana Brenda and Ivan Sanchez's performances. I love even their smallest scenes together. Can't wait for whatever awaits these too. As gringo says - must see TV!!!

@gringo - actually, the ugly hand of censorship did strike at the end of episode #16 and start of episode #17. But don't despair, my friend. I already pledged that if "the ugly hand of censorship" strikes again, my own "uncut hand" (alluding to Martin and his self-inflicted hand wound - hee hee hee) will smack it down and bring you here anything that ugly hand dares to cut out. I will not allow it to deprive you of the joy of watching your "Mexican goddess" in the manner in which Televisa and the telenovela gods intended. Univision be damned.

So we all noticed Martin asking for a sign from Deme then dismissing the dove. Good, I thought I was the only one who was left with a cara de impactada at that one. Okay, Adriana I'll give Vero and Martin a week, tops, of happiness before he goes coo coo for cocoa nuts again. I am waiting for Manuel to try something with Claudia but so far nada. NancyY is a peeping tomasina, she is always lurking somewhere. Does she walk barefoot or nah? And if she does, porque?
Romy

Hello everyone! After several months of reading everyone's recaps and comments from the shadows, I'm glad to be able to come back to the patio to comment now that the kiddos are on vacation and there is no homework to help with, I have a bit of free time. I started watching to find something to replace QTPD when it ends and am so glad I chose Lo Imperdonable. I had previously watched La Mentira, but don't really recall details on it and I really enjoyed CME, so I'm giving this one a shot. So far so good, I'm hooked! Too bad Martin finally had to get out of bed, the view was nice while it lasted, lol!

Adriana, thanks for the recap. Like many others, I found the "dim and dimmer" line in regards to the dove as a sign very funny. Glad Martin was able to spy on Vero and find out that he was wrong about her, and we can get a bit of happiness, at least for a while. Looking forward to tonight. :-)

Maricruz

Adriana Noel,
Thanks for the recap. Sounds like a good episode. I have not been able to sit and watch this, but I will play catch-up this weekend.

I have to agree with all of you that say the AnaPerla/Pablo scenes are boring. I have found myself FF through some of the scenes. And YES, Julio is a winner! But I don't want him for AnaPerla, she's too blah for him, and she "loves" Pablo. I don't think Julio deserves sloppy seconds. I remember him from Amor Bravio; he seemed to have more scenes in that one.

Anon 2:28,can't wait to see that sexy smile on Martin that you mentioned in your comment. As the Gringo says, Must see TV!

Hasta pronto

Adriana Noel- thanks for an insiteful recap.
Selma is rather odd. Popa gorje would be better with magda, botel ain't to bad but he needs to stop shottin down magda's feelings about ronny being her daughter. He needs to stop being annoying.
I hope things work out for martin and veronica, but we are barely in to it and the vultures are circling.
I like nancyaga but shes got this doom-n-gloom thing going on, and shes aiming at veronica.
After hearing her graveside talk with dimmy, I hope he gives the poor girl (veronica) a chance, and stop being a buthead.
Manuel is just so...... maybe the mole people will make an appearance and grab him while he's digging In the mines for gold and take him to moleville, then he can aggrevate them.
Maybe must see TV! Will be better tonight, now that marty is acting the way a newly wed should act.
I just don't like virginia. Make her go away. Somebody!!!!!!

Nina, I'm liking NancyY a lot more lately. It may be too soon to tell but her attitude with Vero seems to have shifted a bit once she found out that Vero gave her blood to Martin and that they are now united forever. I haven't paid close attention but I think lately she is just calling her "mujer blanca" and has been omitting the "mala" from it. She even insisted Vero take the spare room so from both mujeres blancas, she just may prefer Vero to Claudia. Can a friendship be in the works for these two?
Maricruz

That would be nice, nancy seems to have a....gift I guess you'd call it. She see's things no one else does. I bet if she could see vsnake, she could tell right away something was wickedly wrong with her.
That would be good if they became bff. Vero is going to need a friend when marty drops the ball.
Theres somrthing strange about that relationship between her (virginia) and selma.
There might be a big secret there.

Vivi: Botel needs to shut up!

Martin needs a big ANVIL VERY FAST: he's going to look very stupid when he realizes that he hurt the wrong person (Veronica).

Hoping Magda keeps searching for clues because I'm worried Salma might find out about it & might kill her (see Lucrecia killing Florencia in QA)!
