Caray, Caray!

Thanks, Jean and deb, for the info about current and future novelas. I'm still watching Avenida Brasil, but knowing that there are more than 100 more episodes has pushed me to look even harder for a new novela to move to. I'm already fast forwarding through most of the subplots, especially those involving Leleco and Muricy, and also Diógenes.
 

Tierra. I second Juanita's thanks to Jean and Deb. I notice that after the last couple of episodes of Tierra there's been an ad telling the viewer not to miss the episodios culminantes, so I assume some sort of climax is approaching and that this tn might not be as long as its predecessor Pasión de los gavilanes was. Still an awful lot of plot strands hanging, though. It would be nice if Captain Fernández figured out that it's Leonardo in that security video of Arturo's attempted murderer before he marries Cayetana.

Wow, over 100 still to go?
Agreed about the Leleco plot line. The music makes me think we're supposed to find these parts adorable and funny, heehee the older man is jealous of his preposterously-younger-and-more-attractive girlfriend, but it just makes me dislike him. And, consequently, think Tessalia is a fool.
The Carlitos and His Wives storyline is also odd, but appears to be reaching some kind of conclusion or change. Can't really see how or if these will fit into the arc of the main Nina/Carminha/Jorgito storyline.

Thanks Jean for the update and i think that bajo el mismo cielo replaces Tierra de Reyes i wish Leonardo would get caught already he's getting beyond annoying i am resntly starting to watch el senior again because one of rutila love interest the cop hey Juanita if you want another tn to move to i have one it's really good it's called caminos de guanahuato it's very good or the one from univision called amores con trampa
 

Tierra. I figured Pati would be ok because she seems to survive everything, but what are the odds that Ulises is still alive? And if not, how much did he have it coming?
 

Tierra: I deleted your last comment, Evangelina, because it was spoiler-ish. Tierra is following the plot of Pasion de Gavilanes fairly closely so I don't think that we should be making predictions about what will happen on Tierra based on what happened on PdG.

And I'm relieved that Arturo finally told Verónica that Soledad was her mother. He's right. They went through hell together and there shouldn't be secrets between them any more. I hope that Verónica finally reacts with some understanding--both about the terrible difficulties of Soledad's situation at the time of Vero's birth and the good intentions on both Sole's and the Gallardo half-brothers in not telling her sooner.

Agree on the side plot lines. The one that does make me laugh though is about Carlitios and his harem. The lengths that guy will go through....& a side note about Mon episode, the funniest part had to be Ruy's face throughout his bachelor party, omg had me cracking up!

Although Jorgito has his issues it's nice to see a male lead pushing and seeking for answers. Let's see what he finds tonight!

Many thanks for the telenovela suggestions. I really like to watch a novela from the beginning, and I think Amores con Trampa has already been running for a while. As for Caminos de Guanahuato, I don't think I can get the channel that shows it.

Right now, it seems like my best bet may be Bajo el mismo cielo, which will soon (?) replace Tierra or El Señor on Telemundo.

AC has had an infarto. I wonder if they are finally going to kill him off, so we don't have to go through season 4.
 

Tierra. Some remarks on last night's episode. Even in a wheelchair don Felipe was more than a match for Leonardo. Way to go, General! Leo didn't seem to realize that generals start out as junior officers who have to know how to fight, and how to fight cleverly. I wonder if Cayetana was talking to Macy's about wedding clothes, and if that will actually hurt sales. :) What a great cousin Darío is and what a sensible person. He's absolutely right. Would Verónica prefer an incredible woman like Soledad as a birth mother, or some cualquiera--an anonymous who knows what? Looks as if this is one plot strand that's about to wrap up.
 

Tierra. And I am assuming that Irina is a.) pregnant; b.) suffering from a terrible illness; c.) is perfectly all right and it's just another tn end-of-episode tease; or d.) something else. And if she is pregnant, her child will be a double cousin of Arturito.

Wow finally just as I was getting sick of Soledad's lame excuses and thinking if somebody didn't tell Vero soon I was checking out
Though if I had been the boys I wouldn't have trusted Sole to tell her by herself
Also I kind of expected it to go the other way - Arturo tells her you are our sister first, then later about her mom but at least now its all out there

It looks like they got a new baby to play little Artie - this one seems fascinated by the hat instead of scared of it

Tierra. My hopes got raised when Valverde offered Leonardo a choice between being killed by a knife or a gun. Darn that Isadora for telling him all the details of the arms smuggling business and darn Leo for having the foresight to leave the info (he says) with someone to turn over to Fernandez if anything happens to him! And once again a little something for the S&M voyeurs. On a brighter note, the Gallardos + the del Junco daughters + Veronica are now one big happy family. As soon as Vero completely accepts Soledad as an additional mom, the family will be complete. It struck me that every other one of the adults was very sympathetic and understanding about Sole's dilemma when she was pregnant with Veronica. It was obvious that none of them has had as sheltered a life as Vero.

Haven't seen the last week or so, but I want to get caught up this weekend, especially since you are all saying that things are happening! So glad Vero finally knows Soledad is her mother. FINALLY. That was dragged out way too long. And for a self-proclaimed nonviolent peace lover, I suspect I am going to enjoy Leo's suffering way too much. Now can someone rid the world of him permanently? And then, if his long-lost saintly identical twin should show up, I wouldn't complain :). He really is a good-looking chap, but the actor is so good at portraying a sleazeball creep that I've barely been able to stand to look at him for the last few months, he's so completely repulsive.

I think Fernandez deserves way better than Cayetana, unless perhaps he has shady secrets we know nothing about. How could he want to be with a woman who abuses her daughters?
 

Tierra. Well, some of the characters have been saying along the way that Cayetana is actually better than she acts sometimes. I would think that the way she treated Soledad back in the day might disqualify her from membership in the human race. Otoh, I have known people that rigid who sincerely believed they were doing the right thing, when it was obvious to everyone else that they were empathy-deprived and lacking in humanity. Fernández pretty much told her he likes a challenge. Maybe he'll humanize her? And I agree that the actor playing Leonardo probably deserves some kind of award for portraying a sleaze so convincingly.
 

Tierra. And Valverde's one semi-redeeming characteristic is that he seems to sincerely love Cayetana--not enough to risk his criminal activities'being discovered though--hence Leonardo is still alive.

Tierra. Whoa, Sneaky! You were so right about Irina! And cool that Candela seems poised to spill the beans on Leonardo! (Hope nothing happens to her--she seems like one of those nice but expendable characters.)

So it seems like we're playing musical henchmen - Roger went to Valverde, Nicholson & Malcovich went from Isadora to Matamoros to Valverde and now back to Isadora? The treacherous "help" now work at El P and round and round it goes

Cande seems to really like DF - maybe she'll tell him what she heard, but the way things are going Cayetana won't listen to or believe it just because Cande is the source.



Oh and Irina shouldn't be worrying about deserting her sisters in the middle of battle because all those girls should move out of that house NOW!
That might make more of an impact on Cayetana than their staying to "fight Leo" if they told her they were totally unwilling to live under the same roof as him because he's a pervert and a creep, though maybe that's too much to hope for.

 

Tierra. Of course whether the girls stay or go, Cayetana's life is in danger, something Leonardo has been foolish enough to say out loud a couple of times. His incompetence in personally killing other people (like Arturo) so far may be her best protection. Btw, has anyone else noticed that whenever they show a nighttime sky to indicate that a day has passed, there's always a full moon? Houston must be the only place on earth where the moon doesn't have phases.

I did enjoy seeing Carlitos get his come-up pace. Hopefully none of his women will take him back! He has great taste, I must say...those are three beautiful, classy ladies.

I agree, none of the del Junco sisters should stay in that house. They've been trying to get rid of Leo and talk sense into their mother for eons, and what good has it done? The best thing they could do, both for their own safety and mental health and to make the point to their mother, is to LEAVE. And they should take gramps and Pablo with them.

Don't the girls have part ownership of the ranch? Maybe they should get their own lawyer and make Cayetana pay them for their shares. I wish Caye would overhear Leo when he swans around bragging about being the owner of the ranch already.

I do hope they go through with the wedding. All Cayetana's hysteria over the family image when her daughters do absolutely normal things that no one but snobs like Caye and Miranda would care about, and then she marries her abusive former son-in-law who is hated by pretty much everyone?! Let the vicious gossip begin!
