Amores con Trampa #75 The Neanderthal is behaving even worse and Isa has found a new career for Mireya, who is not that thrilled. Rocio and Estefani bump noses... Florencio plays his last card.

Beto and Rocio repeat from Thursday. Rocio thinks marriage is just a paper. Beto surprised but he asks of she doesn’t want to marry him. Of course she does! He is willing to marry her anyway, even if they have to run away like his parents did. ‘I will marry you… because I will marry you!’
Back in SBeA Florencio punches Panzon but is nice enough to then help him with some ice on the eye and buys him a stake and sausage dinner because Panzon said the scare made him hungry (tragon). Panzon asks if Florencio will sit down with him but he almost gets punched again. Heck no!
Beto shows Rocio a picture of his family and says they will make their own family. They look soooo good together!  Rocio still a bit reluctant to just get married in hiding.  She asks Beto to really think about it. Beto says once we get married we’ll just tell them and that’s that! Rocio still thinks it’s a crazy plan. But he is the bravest guy she’s ever met and the one that accepts her as she is and brings out the best in her.  He assures her she will be his wife… and no one will stop that.  (smooch).
At Carmonas, its nighttime. Gusana is trying to cheer up Jacinto. They are a bit upset they can’t see Alejandra anymore. She’s their friend.  Jacinto even mentions some hypnosis plan.  He walks around and ends up saying its not a problem for the smarts, it’s a problem for the heart. He is downgrading himself saying he knows nothing about issues of the heart.  Gusana again tries to cheer him up.  She is even willing to lie to her parents, which would be a first for her.
In their bedroom, Maria asks Facu if they went overboard with Beto. He says no way. We have to stay strong in our decisions. For our family.  Maria recognizes Rocio and Beto really love each other.  Facu says that’s because you are getting close to her.  Facu even suggest Maria fire Rocio and hire a new sales help. Maria refuses. It would be like Facu fired Felipe.  No.   Facu changes the subject and says he likes when they talk things over and get agreement.  HE will never allow anyone to cause him to lose her.  We are together in this (boy, man, you are very selective in when it is convenient to have her around).
In the Velasco bedroom, Isa has put on a white rather dated nightie… Santee is almost losing his breath from all the perfume she put on.  She is lighting up some aromatics. Santee is worried they will burn down ‘da house!...  She keeps acting a bit strange, flirty… Santee asks if she took more pills than usual.  She is upset, she is trying, they went together to the grocery store and out to eat… she is trying, don’t you want us to fix our relationship?  … She then tries the nose rubbing flirting… he thinks asking her what she is pretending… she thinks a response you will find out soon enough and you will regret having deceived me.
Back at Carmona’s, Beto is arriving, trying to make the least noise possible but of course he runs into some things downstairs. When Beto gets to his bedroom, Maria and Facu are there waiting for him.
When Estefani arrives in a taxi, Rocio has been waiting for her outside and confronts her, trying to find out what she is up to.  Rocio says the Carmonas are the nicest people she knows.  Estefani tells Rocio that she is behaving just like her aunt Isa, mentioning a crystal ball like trying to guess what everyone else thinks and plans.  Rocio still isn’t buying any of Estefani’s schemes.  Tells Estefani she destroyed her aunt and uncle’s relationship and now is trying to break up the Carmonas.  It is Estefani’s turn to not buy any.  Estefani cares about Maria like a sister, and ‘we both know Facundo is a man any woman would desire… but he is my ‘sister’s man!’  Rocio affirms she is also willing to do whatever to defend her relationship with Beto. Estefani lists her daily tasks as Mary Poppins: help Jacinto with his incontinence, helps Gusana with her problems at school, helps Carmen with the Ho-wanna be girls who bully her, and even Beto with the big problem he has with his dad… precisely because he loves you… and you will thank me.  Rocio says don’t butt in there, I will see how I solve the problem and I will defend Beto with nails and teeth.   Estefi says maybe you are too young to know that there are problems that nails and teeth will not solve…  Rocio just leaves after saying ‘you have been warned!’  Estefi asks herself why doesn’t anyone believe me?

In Beto and Jacinto’s room, Beto and Facu and Maria argue right in front of Jacinto. Maria gets upset asking if what they are turning into looks like a family to them.  Facu argues that it is not the right moment for Beto to get married…  Beto is not willing to wait.  Facu is not even willing to allow Beto to see Rocio.  Maria is not so sold even though she does not confront Facu.   Meanwhile Jacinto is trying to ‘hold it’… but he then says he can’t hold it so Facu runs with him.  Maria asks Beto to help out with his brother (all this is a bit too much for me). Beto more than willing to lend her a hand.
In the kitchen, Facu and Maria continue the discussion…  (what the… he is putting lettuce in a glass of milk!)  Maria is worried about Beto. They should stop bothering him. IF he wants to keep going with Rocio he won’t leave her.  Facu assures her he will talk to Beto at the office, will show him which side the iguana chews off at (I don’t think Facu is willing to talk, sounds like he is going to read the rule book to Beto).  Maria again asks him not to be too rough on Beto. HE says ‘just will treat him as he deserves’.
Later in kitchen… Porfirio calls Perpetua Porfiria…  he tells her a story… well, Perpetua won’t let him tell the story again. Better wait to tell the story to Jacinto.  Then they talk about the story of General Villa (Pancho Villa?)  The hen Georgina (name thanks to Perpetua) comes in to hear some of the story. Porfirio is still waiting for Georgina to end up in a stew… just like he is also waiting for Margarito to end up with an apple in mouth…  Perpetua says Georgina is her ‘consentida’  (favorite pampered one). Perpetua talks to Georgina not to pay attention to Porfirio.
Santee in the bathroom… is he trying to put some disguise on himself?  He swaps the pills from her prescription jar with some other pills… meanwhile he is rapping some nonsense LOL!  He believes he is ‘Super Santee!’
Next morning Santee is making the table very happy and still rapping when Isabel comes out and calls him ‘mi amor’ which makes him freeze… Isa tells him she wants him and her to go together to a therapy with Mireya. Santee gets really nervous and scared about going to see her psychiatrist with Isa.  He asks why… really, why?  She is no marriage counselor. That title is not in her business card.
At Carmonas breakfast, Porfirio and Perpetua are still talking about Georgina and the chance of her ending in a chicken stew.   Maria says even the rooster would be sad.  Gusana says she likes them smiling and talking funny stuff.  Maria then gets sad again and says we lately don’t do that.
Back to Velascos. Isa insists in them going to see Mireya together.  He is now acting upset about the idea.  (what are ‘divorced eggs’? LOL! Its part of the menu Santee had fixed for her!)
Back to Carmonas. Maria is heading to the store… she wants to get busy working since the household is breaking apart.  Porfirio gets to talk more nonsense and Perpetua rants at him.  He is asking about Stefani. None of them know where she went.  Porfirio whines that no one let him know so he could go with her.  Conchita suddenly gets jealous that he never has said that about her (to go with her anywhere).
Estefani with her aunt… she is crying, saying none of them believe her even with all the effort she has put on trying to gain their trust.  Her aunt says ‘being nice is not in your nature!’  (that is a nasty thing to say to your niece, isn’t it?) Estefani says she needs aunt’s help to fix a dinner for the Carmonas.  Estefani is excited that they all get together to eat dinner. She wants to do something for them that will make them forget so many problems.
At the store… Rocio tells Maria that the last thing she wants is to separate Beto from his parents. Maria says even if that’s not what you mean to do, that’s what you are doing. If you love him, let him go. (really, Maria?)  Hilda shows up right on time.  Maria asks what she is doing there.  Hilda claims that someone in San Bartolo asked her to do them a favor and that’s what she is doing there…  Hilda and other girls from SB brought baskets of clothing/knit work to sell.  Hilda keeps addressing Rocio, so Maria asks her (a bit upset) to stop bothering/annoying!!
Isa and Santee arrive at Mireya’s office.  Santee still has his ‘Aunt Jemima’ scarf hat.  Mireya is frozen at seeing him.  Isa tells Mireya that she brought Felipe. Mireya a bit confused. Isa is her patient, not Santee.  Isa feels they have to talk about things together… to end all the lies and issues with their marriage. She would love to fix things with Santee.  Mireya says she does not use to serve as marriage counselor, but…  Isa and Santee start making weird noises.  Isa says it is indispensable.
At the offices, Felipe tells Facu they are ready to make the purchase of the solar panels.  Facu is willing to make whatever changes necessary to implement that.  But Facu called Felipe Alcina so Felipe calls him on it.  Beto comes in.  Facu tells him he is so busy he can only think of the little goat neighbor.  Facu tells Beto that he is naming Senorito Felipe Alcina as his new assistant and not Beto.  Facu says Felipe has been there and making the right decisions for the company.  Beto gets a bit upset about the decision.  Felipe does not want to be pointed by Beto as the cause of his dad’s decision.  Facu tells Beto that he needs to be reporting to Felipe and bring him coffee and copies whenever he asks for them.  Beto says fine… but if you think that will stop me from seeing Rocio, you are wrong.  Facu says then if you keep up that stand, I have no use for you (boy, parents are really being rough on the children today).  Beto says I thought I was talking to my ‘pa… but I see now I am only talking with the Boss. (you go Beto!! No son deserves to be treated that way!! Facu’s title as the company owner is really getting up to his head!!) Facu asks Beto to leave.  Beto asks if he is happy now. Do you feel better?  Maybe I deserved this treatment when I did not want to study.. but now I am!  On the other hand, you never studied!!  And if you think I am a donkey because I am not like Felipe, then I will tell you you are the same as I, except now I am going to school!  Facu says he never studied because he was too busy maintaining the family!  And stop confronting me, because to achieve things in life you have to make sacrifices.. and if you don’t want to change you will lose everything! Let this be a lesson to you!
Beto says ‘you might treat me like an employee… but don’t forget… I am your son’.  ‘don’t forget I am your ‘apa’. I never thought you saw me like a donkey I thought you were proud of me… leave me alone.’  (Beto looks at him like he already regrets saying that, but not his attitude).   Facu is crying alone…
Back to Mireya’s office… Isa says she has an idea… she will give him some of the drops Mireya gave her.  With a glass of wine!  (Santee is scared like a little boy… love his acting here… he won’t open his mouth… and she sings like a mommy shoving the wine down his throat…)  Isa sits at the therapy chair… makes room for Santee (LOL!)  Isa says what she does not like about Santee is that he doesn’t trust her, so she doesn’t feel confident to tell him everything…  Mireya asks about their intimacy but Isa interprets the question as asking if he intimidates her.  Santee stands up by Mireya.  Mireya asks Santee what is it that bothers HIM about her.  Isa says its enough for this session, but we will need more sessions like this one. Mireya again tries to bail out saying she could recommend other ‘counselors’.  Isa claims she took a long time to build trust to open up for Mireya… So it has to be her.  Santee is getting a headache.
Back at SB, Florencio is at his horse stables asking the guys to plant 100 more mandarine trees (since Maria likes mandarines), still talking about a letter he wrote for Maria, where he spills out everything he feels for her and asking for her forgiveness… claims all Facu has done is make Maria suffer, he won’t allow that.

Previews: Isa finds Santee and Mireya together… and Facu finds Florencio’s letter and asks Maria for explanation.

Marta, thank you so much. The recap was fantastic. I really needed it tonight because I wasn't watching very carefully.

The scene between Beto and Facundo was so well done and so true to life. Facundo has pushed Beto to the extreme with no concern for his feelings and couldn't believe it when Beto answered/treated him in kind. Too bad, so sad. Maybe he will start thinking about how he treats other people after getting some of his own medicine. Probably shouldn't bet on Facundo ever "getting it". María deserves him for not considering the emotional welfare of her children before supporting obnoxious Facundo in something she knows is hurting them. They both should be paying some attention to Jacinto and not putting him in the stress filled situations they do. They only seemed to pay attention to him the other night when he expressed his affection for Estefany saying she was the only one who paid attention to him. It was as if they were jealous of Estefany for providing Jacinto with the attention they should be providing him.

On a much lighter note, Santiago in his scarf and Isabel were a hoot going for couples counseling. I loved Isabel trying to get him to take and wash down those drops with some wine. Santiago always makes me smile (even when he is up to no good).

I sure hope Estefany has changed.

Thanks for the excellent and entertaining recap.

I also wondered about the lettuce leaves in the glass of milk. Can anyone enlighten us on that?

Brilliant as always, Marta.

A quick online search in Spanish shows that leche con lechuga is a remedy for insomnia. I've had huevos divorciados in Mexico. Delicious. Two eggs over easy, one smothered in green sauce, the other in red sauce, served with refried beans and tortillas or tortilla chips. Yum!

Facundo's reign of terror continues, and Maria keeps enabling him. Arrg! I thought what Beto said to Fac was right on target. When he said he thought he was talking to his father and not his patron (little stronger than boss, more like master in this context) and took off his hat and did a little subservient bow-- that was his drop the mic moment. He should have left right there. In any case, when he continued and compared his and Fac's lack of education and ignorance, I didn't think he went overboard or was being disrespectful. But that's how Fac took it, and of course it ended up being all about HIS hurt feelings, tears and all. Good grief! Get over yourself, Fac. I really hope Beto doesn't feel guilty.

Stefi's aunt is as bad as Perpetua. Nice way to support your niece, telling her she'll always be a bad person, and comparing her to the scorpion in the scorpion and the frog fable.

Vivi, thanks for doing the research on the lettuce and milk. Your huevos divorciados description is making me hungry.

Jarifa

Thanks Marta.

Viv explained the lettuce so I guess I don't need to leave the link to the recap I wrote which explained it.

Safe travels, Sara!

Thanks a million Marta !!!! I wasn't making much of the Steph and Rocio or the Steph and aunt conversations. Thanks for clearing them up for me.

Vivi, leche and lettuce, who knew ??? No more sleepless nights for me.

Can Facundo get any worse? Apparently so. Beto should move out, but we all know his source of income. Maria seems to be backsliding big time; has her self esteem been totally destroyed by Fac. Enabling him, exactly Vivi. He's destroying his family.

Lola

Thank you Marta, always entertaining.

"all this is a bit too much for me"

Vivi, you totally take the words outta my mouth. Facundo makes a mess so he has to find some puppy to kick, in this case his own son. What a petty tyrant, and Maria his codependent enabler so a big ditto Lola. Run Beto, break the cycle of dysfunction, your mothers lost.

I don't believe Estefany has changed, I do think she's trying but once the pressure is off she'll be right back at it just as Facundo is

The way that Fac was cutting Beto down, reminded me exactly of the way Isa would do that to Rocio. And Maria apologizes for and enables Fac, just like Santi would do with the kids after Isa had done her damage.

Thanks, Marta!

I don't really understand what it was that Facundo was trying to accomplish by lighting into Beto that way. And then to say humiliating things like "Your job will be to get Felipe's coffee and make his copies." And then he gets to look hurt when Beto doesn't express pride in him? I'm not following Facundo's motivation in that scene.

Denise- Fac's motivation was to show that he is...uhm, has the biggest wiener in that pissing contest.

Awesome recap!

I love Fac's way of bringing the family together, belittling his son, controlling who his kids see and make friends with, breaking up a loving couple and being a bullying brute to everyone. I wish Beto and Rocio would find a way to run away. I could see Beto being able to get a job on Florencios ranch. It is work he knows and Flor would probably think it may entice Maria. With Maria backsliding I want one of the kids to teach Fac a lesson.

Vivi, you called it with your "pissing contest" comment. That's it! Thanks for the laugh this a.m.

Jarifa

The thing though, with a bullying brute like Facundo, they find religion only after they're in trouble. Soon as the dark cloud passes, they are at it again.

So would it not be great if telenovela conventions were broken and María ended up with Santiago, Isabel with Facundo? Then Estefany could end up with Florencio. I would love to see this novela turned on its head. That would be fun!

Jarifa

Marta - Thanks a bunch.

I'm on vacation and internet is sketchy. Looking forward to the recaps and comments when I'm back in a week.

Niecie in MD

Marta, so sorry I am late to the party - had family visiting.

Your recap was superb. I so enjoy your comments that are always insightful and yet delightful "We are together in this (boy, man, you are very selective in when it is convenient to have her around)". And there you have it...

I did not see this but I'm not sorry to hear that Facundo lit into Beto, who as noted, did certainly not deserve it.

I DO believe in Stephi and look forward to see what she concocts for the family meal...

Excellent comments. "Reign of terror" is so right Vivi. Loved your take on Facundo and advice "...and of course it ended up being all about HIS hurt feelings, tears and all. Good grief! Get over yourself, Fac". Fantastic idea.

Unfortunately, unhappiness with our "galan" continues. Jarifa, you pulled the thoughts our of my mind (and said them so much better than I would have with your "Probably shouldn't bet on Facundo ever "getting it". María deserves him for not considering the emotional welfare of her children before supporting obnoxious Facundo in something she knows is hurting them. They both should be paying some attention to Jacinto and not putting him in the stress filled situations they do".

I COULD totally see Maria and Santiago together. I think his days of disrespect that he shows Isabel would come to an end. I believe he has always admired and respected Maria which is why he would never act untoward or make any advance to her. I think he has always liked her.

Niece, enjoy your vaca, but hurry back soon!!!

Diana

Niecie....

Just a thought about Facundo lighting into Beto, could he be jealous of Beto having it so easy compared to him and with more options than he ever had and not taking advantage of them in the same way or with the same intensity he (Facundo) might have? They moved to the city for the kids to have an education and I would think a better/easier life but maybe "seeing" it happening is hard for Facundo to swallow.

Jarifa

Way behind, playing catch up. Just saw a scene with Hilde and it hit me. There is someone out there who would really like her: Dr. Carlos.

Nanette, do you mean OUR Dr Carlos from our patio?
Vivi, ITA. Facundo is going way overboard projecting on to his family his own issues... and Maria is helping him out with her enabling him and putting him above her own children's feelings and wellbeing. She needs to leave Facundo alone and tend to Jacinto and support Beto and Rocio and stick to her guns and put her foot down.

Marta: yes.
