Lo Imperdonable #48 Thu 7/23/15 The one where EXPLOSIVE stuff happens
I had a very bad morning, probably the worst in ages, so I wasn't able to watch the show or write a recap as I had planned. I'm extremely sorry and ashamed, but these have been difficult days for me, as I received a couple of bad news and more might follow (friendly advice: never move to France - it will suck the life out of you and then, when you finally come out for air, it will suck some more).
The one VERY bright spot right now is that my baby is doing just fine, which is the only thing that truly matters, but all the rest is a mess, so I didn't have the heart to watch the show.
I am so very sorry to disappoint you all, especially after Eli's two stellar recaps (btw, Eli, great job yesterday, too, you bring it every single time - thank you so much for your hard work!).
Please, if you can, feel free to include whatever you want about last night's show in your comments and later on I might have the time to edit this post and add your stuff, too.
Now I have to go struggle with some French bureaucrats some more, as my day is only half over and who knows what will happen next. If only I had a gold mine somewhere deep in the Mexican nowhere land to go hide...
Adriana Noel
Later Edit:
Thank you so much, Vivi and Anon 09:48, for giving us the highlights of the episode. It seems like I lost quite an explosive show.
I will add them here, so that anyone who comes to the post later on, can find them faster.
VIVI
- Jorge apologizes to Salma. She prays alone about her secret, and about being robbed of the chance to be a mother, and about "them" making her do it.
- Claudia accepts that she lost Martin and Emi, and decides to throw her eggs in the Pierre basket-- she tells him she wants to give a relationship with him a try, and they have sex. They both seem to have enjoyed it.
- Julio is in tears over the news that AP and Pablo can now openly see each other. He lets slip to AP the HE loves (querer) her, but then backtracks. AP is a fool if she doesn't get by now that he's in love with her. She thanks him for being such a great FRIEND. Nanci finds Julio crying and tells him to ignore the fact that AP loves someone else, and fight for her-- just as Nanci is doing for the man she loves (Martin).
- Cresencio reads the letter from his compadre about his son/possible future husband for AP. Turns out his son is in the city studying and such, so now isn't a great time for him to be taking a child bride. AP and Blanca are happy about this. Gramps is a bit grumpy about it, and warns AP that just because he's going to allow Pablo to paint them and come around, does not mean that he's giving his stamp of approval for him as marriage material.
- Throughout the episode and all this other filler, Vero and Martin fight. Vero confronts him about hiding that Dim was his brother, and this was his home. She's ticked she had to hear it from Claudia. He says he was going to tell her, but... She doesn't want to hear his excuses. Martin confronts her about Dim being her lover, amongst ALL her other lovers, and that she broke Dim's heart. He says he could have forgiven her for her slutty past, if it didn't include his brother. Vero denies, denies, denies that she and Dim were involved as more than friends, and is just plain old offended by his attitude about her supposed past. She demands to know who told him this. He doesn't answer. He admits he made the Padre not tell her about Dim (but doesn't mention he also told everyone else not to as well). Martin refuses to believe she is telling him the truth about not being involved with Dim, and keeps demanding that she confess, while condescendingly saying he'll forgive her if she does.
Throughout the fight, Martin constantly physically restrains and grabs Vero to prevent her from leaving, while she beats on his arms and chest ineffectually. During one of these struggles, they bump the table with a lit gas lamp on it, and it falls over on the tablecloth. She locks herself in the room a few times during the argument. Finally, she grabs her suitcase and starts to head out. He forces her back into the bedroom to confront her again. They don't realize that a blaze has started in the living room while they argue. The also don't realize that a drunk Manuel has been listening to their argument and decides to get revenge. He bars the outside door with a bench, stacks logs of wood up against it, and sets a fire, trapping Martin and Vero inside.
Martin and Vero finally realize their house is on fire. They wet blankets and cover themselves and try to leave. A beam falls on Vero, knocking her unconscious. Martin struggles and finally is able to free her from the beam. The town rushes to help when they see the fire. Martin manages to run out with Vero to warn everyone back since he realizes the can of propane in the house is about to blow. HUGE EXPLOSION! Everyone gets to work putting out the fire, while Martin tries to smother out the last bit of air in Vero's lungs by kissing all over her, laying on top of her, and trying to hug her back to consciousness. She doesn't respond.
Dr. F is summoned from the hotel to come help. Pierre is asked for his fast boat and Claudia is frantic to go see Martin and make sure he's ok. Dr. F tells Martin that Vero's lungs are fine and her other boo boos will heal, but the coma might last forever! Dun, dun, dun!
ANON
Jorge is beginning to see a speck of light with Salma and Vsnake. He has a heated discussion with Ssnake concerning her preoccupation with Vsnake and her seeming distrust for Veronica. Jorge kicks himself, on hindsight, for believing all the (lies) about Veronica without at least giving her a chance to defend her virtue face to face. Jorge is beginning to show some detectable brain activity and hopefully can rejoin the human race before he dies. Through this Ssnake has a distinct deer in the headlights look, before going to her ? room for a private hissing...er..um cry.
Thank you both, again!

Know you have all our positive thoughts coming your way. Happy to hear all is well with your little one, and pray that soon whatever other issues you have to deal with are fixed soon.
Take care. <<<>>>

Vivi thanks for filling in! The scenes with Martin holding on to Vero when she says she wants to leave were disturbing and hard to watch. Marty is giving Manny a run for his money in the " worst male abuser" role.
Is it safe to assume Pierre is no longer your favorite? :-)
Thank You Vivi for pinch hitting.
Martin is one defective brain cell short of a rapist. He and Manual can kill each other. What was the significance of the object Nanci stepped on and cut her foot? I assume it somehow connects Manual to the door barricade, but I couldn't figure it out.
Adriana I hope things begin to improve. Your Caray family is thinking of you and the little one.
Our story. Jorge is beginning to see a speck of light with Salma and Vsnake. He has a heated discussion with Ssnake concerning her preoccupation with Vsnake and her seeming distrust for Veronica. I don't care if what Martin says about Veronica was true this guy is a beast and nothing sexy about his abuse. He kept saying she belonged to him because he loved her. How many women have died at the hands of a charming monster.
Martin is a pompus, stupid, dumb, egotistical jackass, and those are his good qualities. How dare he ..... the nerve, she needs to confess? To What? I hope when she wakes up she gets as far away from him as her legs can take her. why don't you tell her who told him those lies.
Vivi, as always, your incredible memory saved the day. I want your brain cells when you get tired of them, hear?
I have to say, the writers and the director of Imperdonable throw us a major bombshell or two of violence and screeching drama every episode. Disturbing for sure. But gawd knows it never drags. And I'm impressed by the energy and physicality of the Martin/Veronica tussles--whether romantic or contentious. These two actors must be absolutely exhausted after some of these scenes. Granted, I'm a whole lot older, but clearly these dramatic encounters take a lot of physical and emotional energy.
Thanks to Vivi, prayers and blessings for Adriana and the little one, and love to all, even those wretched French bureaucrats.
Vivi: Thanks for you synopsis.
I will preface this post by saying that I am a woman and I do not condone any form of violence against man or woman, but I am also human and I can pull from my own life experience when I found out someone that I loved was cheating on me and I went completely loca (crazy).
There is no doubt that Martin lost control, but I don’t think comparing Martin to Manuel (who by the way tried to rape and burned two people alive in the same day) is fair.
I think when you’ve believed a lie for so long, it becomes part of your reality, and it is hard to just let it go, so I think that is why Martin kept insisting and wanting Vero to confess.
It is very human to want to believe we are right, that we are not gullible, and take it personally when we think someone is trying to insult our intelligence.
Remember that it was not only Virginia that told Martin lies...Jorge also hinted at Veronica’s “past” when Martin stated that he wanted to marry her. Does he believe Virginia, Jorge, and Vero’s own word when they first met (if something happened to Dim...it was his fate) or the Vero that is standing in front of him denying everything?
As for Martin not telling Vero who told him all the lies (playing devil’s advocate here) I think he did not want to hurt Vero by saying it was not only Virginia but Jorge who also told him about her past .I personally think Vero would have been crushed.
Martin has been on a roller coaster...do I love her? Do I hate her? I think there is some underlying self-hatred for falling in love with the woman he thinks is responsible for his brother’s death. Like I said yesterday, he was having a cathartic moment and all the emotions he had been trying to juggle just boiled over.
He was wrong for restraining her physically, but I do not equate that to rapist tendencies and elevates him to the mental case that is Manuel when 10 minutes later he is risking his life to save her.
Also, Martin showed and immense about of self-control with Nanci. If I was in his shoes and someone I love was lying there unconscious and someone came up (instead of trying to help) he or she started taking trash about him/her...there would be two unconscious people lying on the floor. What the hell was that with Nanci talking trash about Vero?
Thank you Vivi---You're a real trooper in the way that you always step in during emergencies to help out.
Manuel can't die fast enough but I'm afraid that I/we will have to wait until nearly the end for that to happen.
Pierre got a little bit of the claw--claw-dia last night. How long will that last?
Now if only Manuel and the viper can hook up, wouldn't that be a sight to see? I believe that he actually thinks that he has a chance with her. LOL How would the little viper play him? Would she play him long enough to get a piece of the mine?
Could she figure out a way to end up with a fortune in the DF and the jungle as well
Jolie---Great comments both yesterday and today.
Will Vero come out of her coma tonight?
must see tv
the gringo
Ranting, a little.
Jolie, I agree, martin is nothing like crazy manny. He got his craziness, but manny is a psychotic murdering rapist, and his family need to open their eyes and come up to 2015, And stop holding on so tight to those old customs thats not workin all that well for them anyway. That guy old geezer wanted AP to marry has left the building. He's moved on away from that old stuff. Im not saying go hog wild crazy, but loosen up a bit.
Manny uses that old stuff as an excuse to abuse women. Thats enough to leave it behind.
Nanciyaga, sometimes she seems smart, and then theres the craziness. She needs to get a grip.
Her patrons are not her presonal novias are whatever, she needs some serious therapy.
She got hooked on his brother, and now she thinks she should have marty. What was Emi,
A drive by? Veronica needs her mom, I 'll be glad when that reality happens for her, cause her family and husband is pretty worthless right now.
MARTEEN, needs to make some confessions himself. POMPUS JERK!!!!!
Vivi thank you so much for the recap. It was really helpful in helping me understand what was being said.
Can anyone please help with some questions (here in the UK I watch the episodes online and all in Spanish with no English subtitles) that I didn’t get from the scene:
1.Did Martin call Vero a slut?
2.What did Martin say that made Vero slap him?
3.What was Nanci saying to Martin about Vero?
It seems Martin hasn’t told Vero the whole truth about revenge and also Vero hasn’t seen the necklace as well. He should have told her everything right there and then. Looks like more arguments ahead. Martin in the first place should have asked her if those rumours are true or even ask Matilde. He knows Matilde and Vero are close, he should have asked her.
I wish Emi was there to help give Vero some support.
I am disappointed with the way Martin behaved today and how he shouted at Vero. Not nice at all.
I'm so sorry to hear of the problems and difficulties that you are experiencing currently. However, it's good to know that your child is thriving. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May things improve for you very soon.
Carlos
Duchess, Martin accused Veronica of being with a lot of other men, he said he could forgive her for that if not for the fact that his brother was one of the men she slept with.
Jolie- I have to disagree with you, this is not a case of Martin going crazy because someone cheated on him, Martin is going crazy because he's a jackass. He dated and married a woman to get revenge on her for the death of his brother. He made Veronica his victim based on hearsay, and nothing more. The reson he suspected veronica was because she was beautiful, and had an independent spirit and that of course mus mean she's a slut.
Even if Veronica had slept with Demetrio, Marty would have known this going in, so where does he get off asking her to confess and maybe he'll forgive her? Ummm, no. I have this fantasy of Veronica screaming "I had sex with half the men of Mexico and they were all better than you"- and maybe that would shut him up.
I also want there to be another galan, maybe once Vero learns the whole truth she says f*ck this and runs back to Mexico where she meets a man free of any mental issues who won't accuse her of sleeping with anything that moves.
Vivi, thanks for filling in for Adriana so quickly. Your recap was short but witty. My favorite was your description of Marty after saving Vero from the fire:
"Everyone gets to work putting out the fire, while Martin tries to smother out the last bit of air in Vero's lungs by kissing all over her, laying on top of her, and trying to hug her back to consciousness." lol! I was like "I know you're worried Marty but stand back a bit and give her some air"
How will Martin fare with Emi still in town and Tio Jorge on the way? Can't imagine when they find out about the fire and that Vero hasn't come to. I also wonder if they will find out it was Manuel that locked them in and helped spread the fire. That guy needs to get his new knife taken away, locked up in his cave cell and the key thrown into the river!
As for Claudia and Pierre, was it just me or did Pierre give her a quizzical look at her insistence on going to check if Marty was ok. No mention of Vero, so maybe the gears in his head will start spinning and he'll figure out her real intentions soon. Although he has a wandering eye, he seems like a super nice guy and doesn't deserve gold digger Claudia.
Maricruz
People get convicted in a court of law all the time by witness testimonies. I can understand if Virginia was the only person who told Martin about Veronica's "indiscretions" but it was Virginia, Jorge and Emi at the engagement party (Martin does and did not know that Virginia fed Emi the same BS) These are Vero's family members and there was Vero all nonchalant saying to him( while he is mourning the death of his brother) "Hey if Dim dies, oh well, it must be his fate".
What is that they say...where there's smoke there's fire. All the smoke was coming from Vero's FAMILY MEMBERS.
I think we all would like to believe we would give Vero the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately, we would most likely be in the same boat where Martin is right now.
It is totally possible that Vero could have been lying to Martin when she said she was never with Dim. Some women and men lie all the time about how many sexual partners they've been with to the person they are in love with out of fear.
If the patio was not privy to the fact that Vero really did not sleep with Dim and we were told by all her family members that she did and Vero kept denying it, ...we might also think she is lying. We would wonder, why would not one, two, but three family members lie?
I also think we are all capable of wanting sweet revenge against someone who hurt someone we love or hurt us. We may not act on it, because we know there will be consequences for our actions or we may just not have the opportunity to.
It just happened that fate was able to create the perfect situation for Martin to take out his revenge, but he forgot that "revenge is a dish best served cold" hence, why he needs to be on some Xanax.
Vivi to the rescue T H A N K Y O U.
@Maricruz about Pierre and Claw-dia: Oh Pepe Le Pew surely did take notice of Clawdia's frantic inquiries about Marteen, but it didn't seem to ruin the moment for him. Here is my take: He is no spring chicken and he didn't get to be an affluent owner of a nice hotel in a little slice of Hell by sitting home.
I believe he knows what is going on and is a step or two ahead of Clawdia. IE: promises to take her to Paris, blah blah, blah, maybe he is thinking "Tell her anything to make those skivvies hit the floor." His station in life, horn-dog, yes, fall in love at first sight, ummm..maybe not so fast.
"Carlos, I am curious about your take on VSnake."
I think that Virginia is a lonely selfish overindulged mean girl who is extremely jealous of her adopted sister. She and Verónica have both suffered as a result of the unfortunate favoritism shown by their adoptive parents: Jorge's doting on Verónica and Salma's preferential treatment of Ginny.
I generally prefer more proactive bad girls but I do admire Ginny's somewhat passive aggressive conniving. As for being either a sociopath or psychopath I have seen nothing that would be diagnostic proof. In fact, although she has done some morally questionable things, I can't think of a single criminal act.
And then there's Martín...
Carlos
It is only a matter of time before Virginia does...her manipulations are evolving and more and more people are getting sucked into it and that means things will start spiraling out of control and there will be a stressor that will make her escalate (i.e commit a crime). It only a matter of time....I will not put anything past someone that is willing to drink a drug that might have killed her to keep up a ruse. If that does not scream psychopath, I do not what does?
It's one thing to lose control and have one bad day, but it's another thing to trick someone into a marriage to get revenge. Veronica got lucky that Marty fell in love with her because other wise he'd probably come home to smack her around a few times.
Marty got his info from a third party and never even bothered to do a background check or anything else, he took Ginny at her word (and why was her word better than Vero's? Because she looks like a sweet girl and Vero like a slut?)
Nah, let's not make excuses for Marty, if another galan came into the picture and Vero ended up with him I would not shed a tear.
Vivi, thanks for the summary. I wasn't able to watch the whole epi last night, so it helps to know what to expect tonight. From what I did see, Manny needs to go! After the attempted rape and setting the house on fire (knowing Vero and Marty were inside) there is no way he can be redeemed. NO WAY!
Jolie, I liked what you said about Marty and Manny. Marty may act crazy, but he is nothing in comparison to Manny. Manny is like V-Snake. It is all about what he can get out of it. He does not care about anyone but himself. Manny reminds me a lot of B**Maria from LQLVMR.
Hasta pronto
"Carlos, you do not have to commit a crime to have an anti social personality disorder... sociopaths and psychopaths always escalate."
Thanks. I appreciate your concern and attempt to reeducate me. Nonetheless, in my opinion you have offered no evidence that confirms your diagnosis.
"It only a matter of time..."
Really? Or maybe not.
Next!
Carlos
Now, when the big storm in my head has passed, I'm calmer and I've come to the conclusion that nothing is worth this type of nervous exhaustion. Nothing really major happened, as everyone in my family is doing fine, I was just having a really bad morning, as several administrative issues that have to be fixed fast gathered. The rest of the day was a bit of an improvement, so now I'm ready to take on whatever tomorrow brings.
Carvivlie, France is beautiful - don't reject it on my account. As crazy as it makes me feel, I still wouldn't live any other place. Talk about loving one's tormentor, right? Maybe I have something in common with Veronica.
JudyB, if you've lived in France, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
Jolie, I've been living here for almost 4 years now, I'm not a newbie anymore, but it's the kind of place that gives you just enough to keep you partially satisfied. And since I don't really like to do partial, I have to accept a lot of things that aren't in my nature. But it is a continuous adjustment, I'll give you that.
About Manny vs Marty - I believe Manny is as crazy as crazy can be, but Marty just seems the typical telenovela galan. Sure, he's becoming very violent, but Vero seems to be able to handle it. I find his psychological abuse far worse, as it's something that Vero can't defend herself against, especially since she doesn't know what she's being accused of. Now that she's injured, I bet we will see Marty filled with remorse and self blame, only to revert to his old self once things settle.
Sure, that's not very galan worthy, but I don't think he's the worst, either. He has a temper, but at least he's not a complete idiot (Octavio from Corazon Indomable comes to mind).
As for Virginia's psycho tendencies - I don't think she's there, yet, but give her 100 episodes or so and I'm sure that what she's doing right now will seem like child's play.
Thank you both so much for stepping in!
ADRIANA N., so happy to hear you and your baby are well! Good luck resolving the bureaucratic red tape hassles.
Romy
BTW, did anyone hear Marty say that he apologized to Vero. Like I said, I didn't completely watch last night, but I thought I heard him say that.
Hasta pronto
I have a feeling you are going to be like Martin (on this subject) who will only believe Vero did not sleep with Dim, only if Dim comes back from the dead and tell him that Vero did not sleep with him...hence, Virginia will have to kill someone before you to entertain the idea that she psychopath.
You are under the impression that all psychopaths have to kill someone before they are considered a psychopath and that is not the case. The lack of remorse and conscience is what gets people like Virginia and Manuel categorized as psychopaths.
A lot of psychopaths never commit murder and/or ever get convicted of a crime, because they are so charming and manipulative that they can convince someone that the world is flat.
Since you wanted proof, I pulled few characteristics from a peer reviewed articles for you on the profile of a psychopath. I can think of specific examples/instances regarding Virginia and Manuel that FITS EVERY CHARACTERISTICS.
The old geezer and his family history. Nothing remains buried. I can hardly wait to hear and see her story involving Vsnake.
Jolie, that is a lot of information to copy and paste without attribution and/or permission from the original author. Rather than risk the blog running afoul of Blogger's terms of service, please link to the original information instead.
Annonymous 06:27 thank you also for answering question 3. I am currently not liking Nanci.
Manual is getting on my nerves. He really needs to get killed off!!!
