Some, anyway. Here is the first third:

Please don't wait to comment. I am furious with this situation and I don't want discussion of this series to suffer because of the tardiness of any of my posts or their inferior quality because I can't do the same job under these conditions as I did with LQLVMR.
In any case, I thank you in anticipation of what I know will be an awesome recap!
Vivi - I know right! I am boiling just thinking about it! On the other hand, I think this is my hook point. I've been struggling to get into YNCELH, but last night I was in deep! So glad he went beyond just lying about sleeping with her to telling Max all those lies about her work ethics; he really nailed his own coffin with that! Also, SO GLAD that Clara and Leo are dating, so this whole mess gets outed soon!
"Daniel could not talk her out of that. Thank Somebody"
"He was having an inflammation of what was left of his brain"
So glad that Alma is good people, kinda pleasantly surprised
I appreciate the nuance of the disclosure by Ivana of her parents not wanting her to suit up at their pool and Ursela choosing a suit she was comfortable with for the staged proposal. I understand why Ivana responds to the trolls game.
I don't understand why MD responds to the troll's game and wished we knew more of how they met and when she fell in love with him. Not impressed with MD at all, Clara is so much smarter, MD is just....stupid.
Vivi provided a nice list of the decent folks on this TN in the last post. I agree there are a fair number of them, but I realized I just don't fully care about them yet. I so strongly dislike some of the characters while I'm kind of ambivalent at best about the good guys so far.
I do kind of like Julian, but everytime I see him I want to wash and cut all of the hair above his neck and put him in appropriately aged clothing; maybe they were going for this, but between the big sweaters and the shuffle, he looks like an old man. This is distracting to me because I feel like it just drags the vibrancy of his life towards the gray and I want it to be better, more colorful than that.
Poor Ivana. Little did she know "they" didn't really do "the deed." It was Dan doing "the deed" to her since he couldn't masturbate with Maria Dolores (what else could it be if the woman is totally unresponsive). What a pervert.
I have such a hard time with this pervert's name, Daniel, it having belonged to my darling novio in Amor Bravio and Max--how many times have they used Max in recent tns, anyway--Max in Refugio, Max in TdA, Max in Quiero Amarte and now here. At least all the young Maxes have been decent guys. I think I'll refer to this Daniel as Dandy.
A good word toward Ivana--she didn't come right out and say she wanted to buy the Santibañez mansion. She was a little more polite about it, she told Ursula that if she EVER wanted to sell it, she would like to buy it. There might have been an ulterior motive with Susana's whispers in her mind about Dandy only wanting to marry her for her money. I think she was relieved when Ursula said no, she had no intentions of ever selling the place, there were too many memories tied up in this house.
I'm a bit confused by the locations. Is the place Dandy took Maria Dolores just a cottage behind their city house (with a pool)? Or is that lovely big house they gave us a screen shot of in entirely different place? Ursula and Dandy seemed to come and go very quickly...and I thought Ursula had showed up at her country house, rather than her house in town (which we've never seen the outside of), to find Dandy had been there with someone (after talking to the "facilitator").
Thank you for the reveal that Honoria is Isela's mother--indirectly. I completely missed that. It is important to the story. You'd think she would have just as much a proprietary interest in how Josefa is raising her as she does about Julian. Maybe she gave up Isela because Julian needed so much care and attention and couldn't afford another child. I guess we will find out the backstory.
I like that so much of what connects these folks is coming out so early in the tn.
I was touched by Ivana's sharing with Ursula of how she saw herself as a young girl and how her parents treated her as a social outcast just because of her size. Did they not assume she would be taking over the business some day? BTW, about that bathing suit--Ursula had already bought it. We only saw the skirt from behind. Trust me, 70 years later, they are still making suits like that for plus-size gals. It's hard to find a one-piece suit that isn't cut high around the crotch and hips in plus size. Just check out Land's End catalogs for the summer!!!!
Let's look ate Dan's successes this episode:
- Got Max to doubt MD's honesty and integrity.
- Tricked MD into admitting to Max that she's a lying thief.
- Tricked MD, Julian, and Honaria to hire a crooked, no-good lawyer, instead of Max.
- Got Ivana to give up her virginity to him.
- Convinced Ivana to accept his marriage proposal.
- Distracted Max by making Maleny jealous and clingy.
- Recruited Maleny to help keep Max quiet about MD to Ivana.
The only thing he didn't succeed in was bedding/raping MD. Thank goodness!
I need some clarity on the conversation between Josefa and Honaria in the hospital. I didn't hear anything that implied that Isela was related to Honaria, just that she isn't Josefa's child. Did I miss something?
Rodolfo keeps cash in a box at Julian and Honoria's apartment. We don't know how much is in it.
Rodolfo and Julian are victims of a "home invasion" to rob Rodolfo's money.
During the attack, Rodolfo is knifed and miraculously, alive, is taken to the hospital.
Rodolfo dies, but back home the ladies of the house clean everything up.
Police CSI don't arrive until after Rodolfo dies and at first suspect Maria Dolores.
Julian get cash (his own?) to do what? Did he feel guilty and wanted to replace what was stolen? Was it to get a lawyer for MD, which she didn't need in the end or to get that empty shop space for Espy and MD to start their own business. (Oh, you wretch, Dandy, to use this as part of your twisted conspiracy against what, keeping Max and MD from getting to know each other? You don't trust MD or you just didn't want Max to know you were playing around with both a rich chick and a poor one who work in the same place.)
Right about here is where I get lost. Julian and Honoria go to the apartment owner (as he was identified in an earlier comment). There is some discussion over cash and the deed to the apartment. Julian needs more cash now and Honoria insists on mortgaging the property? But, I thought Julian and Honoria gave the Man a check to get back the deed to the place.
Does Julian use some of this cash to get Orlando out of jail? He gives cash to MD to replace the very expensive imported material for Ivana's dress. (I agree--MD's too trusting AND stupid to swallow Dandy's tales.)
Then Julian wants the cash back, (this time for what?), MD can't give it all back, so he agrees to go into business with the crooked boss who owns nightclubs and is into gambling, money laundering, etc.
Where did this money go? HELP! We know he wasn't able to rent the shop for MD because Dandy got there first. So is he now swimming in cash?
Anyway, the way the police tell it, he's in deep doodoo over the cash and he can't tell where it came from or he's really in the muck.
I won't try too hard to make sense of all this, will just sit back and enjoy MD's awakening love for Max and his for her. Dandy be damned!
Regrettably, I watched and deleted the episode, so I can't go back now. Anyone else hear what Dashiell/UA heard? That Isela is Honoria's daughter?
I am glad that Vermin is now out , he had a real short time on screen before he croaked. Or will he live to take revenge? What does Honoria have to do with Isela, is she her birth mother? How does she know Josie's secret?
Julian acted very stupid dealing with the crooked boss even out of unrequited love . He got what he deserved. He should have been selling sandwiches to the children ( And to pretty women) .
I suppose Isela's being a non tech person is quite common in slumhood but not knowing how to use Word is quite baffling especially since computers in grade schools have turned mainstream. She does know how to use a smartphone though which is odd unless it's a Nokia. Hopefully the phone will live until the end without getting smashed.
And I am now totally intrigued by whatever it is that Maleny saw as a child that has her so freaked out around guns! Who got shot? Was it her dad? Who did the shooting?
I, too, found Ivana's story about the childbood pool parties to be a nice detail. In just a couple of sentences, we got a much clearer view of her relationship with her parents; so far I thought her resentment was towards the other people and influences in her life that compared her to her mother, but now I guess it started with her parents themselves.
I've got to hand it to Ursula: that was a creative proposal. I can't help but wonder if she staged it specifically because she did know about the pool/swimsuit issue and wanted to play Daniel off as not being bothered by her weigh by setting up that scene. (Also, didn't Ivana say she can't swim well? Because she seemed to be doing a great job if you ask me)
Josefa's so putrid I wasn't expecting her to care about Honoria, but she really seems to. I guess she does realize that there are only half a handful of people that really tolerate her, so she'd better take care with them.
Out of all of Dan's crimes that he got away with yesterday what bothered me the most were hiring that new shady lawyer to "help" Julian and arranging the situation so MD tells Max "all that Daniel told you about me is true" with neither of them really knowing what the other was talking about.
Sooooo GLAD Isela jumped in the car without waiting for Dan's say so.
Laughed when Ari, Orlando, and Isela were grouped together at the PD station wondering what Max was doing there when he started coming over and Ari was like "shhhhhhh he's coming over, he's coming over...."
"Bankruptcy Manor" Ha!

TRUTH!

Daniel is a snake. Hes moving the peices around on the chess board with ease. It will come back and bite him in the a**.
I especially think Ivana has a lonely voice.
