Capítulo 102 8/19/15

"Simply Episode 102"

Part 1

We pick up with Esteban being caught rummaging through the papers on Facundo's desk. He is looking for the envelope that contained the photo of María and Florencio. As Facundo addresses him, Esteban has the "deer in the headlights " look. Outside, the girls at the reception desk are concerned because Esteban went into Facundo's office without permission. Facindo is not happy. He first asks Esteban what he is doing and when he gets no answer he asks him what in the heck is he doing. Facindo offers the speechless Esteban a laundry st of possibilities: did he lose a document, forget one, needs to have Facundo sign one, etc. Esteban comes up with the excuse that he is looking for the contract for the sale that Santiago signed because the judge is asking for it. He has the signed contract in his hand. Facundo asks him what saint was he praying to.( to come up with that excuse) It is clear that he does not believe Esteban. Faciundo tells him to take the paper and get out of his office. Facundo warns him that the next time he finds him in his office Esteban will be the one imposed upon. Even animals understand what privacy and respect are. As Esteban disappears down the hall, Facundo tells the girls at the reception desk that when he is not there nobody is to go into his office: especially not the bloodsuckers.

Granpappy Porfirio, Granny Perpétua and Conchita are in the kitchen doing chores. Conchita is polishing a silver tray and Granpappy is sanding some wood creation. Chit chat among the three.

Esteban is back in his office discussing the fact that the photo was 't there mist mean that Facundo saw it. Estefany wonders why Facundo hasn't fought with María. They only thing worrying Esteban is that Facundo caught him in his office and he knows he didn't believe his excuse. Estefany reminds him that although Facundo is from the country he is not stupid. She goes on to inform him that Facundo arrived in the city being very innocent and good but all of them, herself included, were there just to take him for what they could. What has resulted is that Facundo has turned into a very distrusting wolf who is ready to sink his teeth into anyone who gets in his way. Esteban asks her what has she been smoking??? Nothing.

Back at the Carmona kitchen, Carmen arrives very excited. She must finished with the exam and the results will be up on the knternet later in the evening. She is all stressed out.

At the Velasco house, María is still telling Isabel how well she and Facundo are doing: trusting and loving each other and now they will not be separating. María is almost on the way out the door when she runs back and shows Isabel the beautiful sketches Rocío has done in her sketchbook. Isabel asks if the sketches are hers. Rocío says yes. isabel informs her that design is something one can study at the university.


 

Part 2

Isabel looks disappointed and hurt she didn't know about Rocío's designs when she thought they were getting alomg better. Rocío thanks María and leaves. Isabel thanks María for everything especially for alienating Rocío from her. María cannot believe what she is hearing and heads for the door. Isabel sits and looks at Rocío's sketchbook. She likes what she sees.

At the company Facundo is telling Beto that he is being really wary again especially with things at the company. Beto thinks Esteban has always been loyal. According to Facundo here in the city you cannot trust anybody about anything beciause in the end they will set a trap for you even in cases of love. Facundo is regretting he did not go back to the country when María first wanted to. Facundo then asks how things are with Rocío. Beto tells him. Facundo lectures him on how complicated women are. Facindo believes that Rocío does love Beto from how she has stuck it out with him. Beto just hope when she realizes that she still does love him it will not be too late. He then brings up Hilda and even though now they are just friends there was a fire there. . . . Facundo does not want to hear about her at all. He tells Beto that he just has to really commit himself fully for once.

María has arrived in the Carmoma kitchen and instead of tenderizing a piece of beef with her meat tenderizing mallet, Granny accuses her of trying to turn it into ground beef. The fact of the matter is she is aggravated after having spoken to Isabel and seeing how she treats Rocío not believing in her or her talent. Conchita nods in agreement. Jacinto boy genius arrives reading from his school book about ancient Greek literature. Conchita asks about Greek yogurt. No, classic Greek literature with the famous playwrights who wrote dramas and those who wrote comedies. Susana and Margarito are now listening, too. Granny gives María Jacknto's book so she can take her mind off of Isabel. Jacinto is going to find another book for his mom, one by Agatha Christie "Five Little Pigs". It deals with murder by poisoning and everyone is a suspect.

At the company, Florencio is making suggestions for the condominiums as je and Facundo look at the blue primts. They get into it, of course, with Facundo not happy with Florencio's input and with Florencio wanting to keep an eye on his investment. The phone rings and stops the argument. It is Isabel complaining to Facundo that María was over at her house bothering her. Isabel ks doing her best not to get into it with María but María just insists on provoking her and now is also alienating Rocío from her (Isabel). She is threatening to file a police report again.


 

Jarifa, Jarifa, thank you for the excellent Parts 1 and 2. Not only is your detail very interesting, but crucial in that it really helps me to understand all that I miss - which is considerable, especially the last few months.

“Jacinto boy genius arrives reading from his school book about ancient Greek literature. Conchita asks about Greek yogurt” just made me smile.

Interesting musings from Estefi: “Facundo arrived in the city being very innocent and good but all of them, herself included, were there just to take him for what they could. What has resulted is that Facundo has turned into a very distrusting wolf who is ready to sink his teeth into anyone who gets in his way”. Actually Estefi, you are giving him far too much credit. Facundo got into quite a bit of trouble, (his macho posturing and flirtation with Isa) all on his lonesome. I guess that does qualify him as a “wolf” though so she wasn’t totally off base.

“He then brings up Hilda and even though now they are just friends there was a fire there”. Fire? Really, Beto?? I can hardly believe my ears. How about manipulation, underhandedness (is that a word?). How could you even sense a fire amidst all the smoke being blown. Ack.

Must get some sleep but I can't wait to read the rest of your recap tomorrow.

Part 3

She warns Facundo she does not want to see María again in her house or turning Rocío against her. She hangs up on Facundo. Florencio starts in again and Facundo tells him shhh!!!! in a very quiet way: that he knows how to run his business, Florencio has tired him out and he doesn't want him to drive him crazy.

Carmen is in her room with Margarito on the bed and Susana. She is complaining that the exam results still have not been posted online. Susana is mad she is being so loud and not letting Margarito take his nap. Carmen starts insulting that lazy old pig. Susana says he is not lazy, he is just in a growth period. Carmen comes back with he has to be at least a thousand years by now and he never grows. As the girls are shouting, Granny and María come in. Of course, Carmen blames Susana for starting it all. Susana calls her a liar and is ready to punch her out until Granny pushes her aside and asks Carmen if the exam grades have come out yet. María is still not too sure anout the Reality show even if she does get and 8. Carmen reminds her that they agreed to it when they made the deal about her exam grade. She accuses them all of not having any faith in her. She beats on her tablet hoping the results will appear.

At the Velasco house, Francis makes a visit. She is shouting at her that she promised her and calls her "aunt". isabel counters with she did not promise her anything and she is not her aunt. Francis insists that Isabel told her that if she helped her out with her things/agenda, she would help her get back with Felipe. Isabel doesn't quite remember that with all she has on her mind. Francis is tired of veing thone who was left by Felipe. Not even her pals have any respect for her. Isabel tells ner that she has to be completely honest with her: Felipe is not with her because he does not love her. She should accept it. Francis tells her she is being unfair to her. It is not the truth. Felipe comes in just as Francis is leaving. He wants to know what Isabel did to Francis. Isabel says she did nothing bit that that girl has to understand that she has left their lives.

Estefany and Carmen are out being crazy at the pool where Carmen is talking about the dance competition and Estefany is offering to nelp her with the rock 'n roll. Estefany starts showing her a dance routine and Carmen excuses herself to go check on the exam
grades. It takes a second for Estefany to realize her audience is gone but will return.

At the Velasco supper table, Santiago thanks Rocío for having made dimner. Isabel is not there. Felipe asks why Rocío hasn't gone to the boutique. She hasn't felt well. Ale tells her to talk to María. Rocío says she already has. Santiago has an announcement to make: Rocío is not just going to be a sales person at the boutique: she is going to be the official designer at the boutique. They are all so happy for her.

The Carmona's ate gathered around watching 3D tv with their 3D glasses on. Carmen makes an entrance with news about her exam grade. She got her 8 on the exam. She will be able to go to the reality casting. María wants Carmen to show her exactly where the grade is listed on her tablet so she can see imt for herself. It is her first 8 in her life.

At the Velasco's it is "Amor imposible, imposible, imposible" time and the maid is enjoying every moment of it. She is jumping for joy that all is well with the actors. She dances around and sings. Isabel comes in and is also captivated by it
 

Part 4

In Italy ( I love the map with the little Italian flag looks like we are being taken to Venice for this scene) Corina is on the phone talking about her upcoming wedding with Isabel. Isabel tells her that the cardiologist told her future husband that he cannot get too excited. (Corina is smiling) Isabel says she Corina shoud see the cardiologist too because she is no sprong chicken either. Corina wants to remind Isabel that in a short time she is going to be very rich amd she wouldn't want to leave her out of her will now. Isabel asksher if she remembers what day is today. Sure, says Corina, it is the day her Tony is going to introduce her to the whole family. Dinner is going to be tense: he hasn't spoken to them in 5 years because all of his children are ungrateful. Tony is also going to announce that he is changing his will to leave everything to Corina. She tells Isabel once she is fine, Isabel is even going to be better and calls her "her princess". Isabel tells her she is not interest d in money anymore. She wishes Corina would have remembered what day today was. But it does not matter. Today is just another day. She wishes her mother a good meal amd tells her she loves her. She hangs up. Her own mother does not remember it is her birthday. Isabel is sire that her family is going to remember.

Carmen is practicing her posing in her room. Granny and María come in. Granny asks her why she isn't at the university. She is not going because she has to work on getting ready for the casting. María is not happy that she is not going to classes or the rehearsals for the dance contest. If she does not fulfill her obligations she won"t be doing any of her model activities. Carmen starts in with how they said if she got an 8 she could go to the casting. María decides this is something her dad has to know about and makes the call.

Facundo is in the middle of a business call when his cell phone rings. María passes the phone to Carmen. Carmen tells him she only cares about the modeling. As the phone call gets more heated Carmen "accidentally" hangs up on Facundo. He realizes she hung up on her. His business caller also hung up on him. María is going to see that Facundo pulls his permission to go to the casting. The threat does not affect Carmen in the least.

Breakfast time at fhe Velasco's. Santiago, Rocío, Ale amd Felipe are having a fine old time working on a model of some sort for Ale when Isabel arrives. Nobody wishes her a "happy birthday." Everyone is busy and have things to go to or attend to. She asks if they forgot it was her birthday and they basically ignore her. She starts crying. Santiago tells her mot to cry. Sure they remember and all wish her a happy birthday but that is about it. Santiago puts it like this: congratulations, happy birthday to you, we love you and that is it! They are are still busy working on the model as Isabel sits and cries at the table. Ale gives her a card to the best mother in the world. Sknce she didn't get a gift, Isabel says she can do what she wants. Nobody cares. Santiago is off to see how the paper work is coming along for his other company. They all leave. The maid says it is Julia's birthday on the telenovela and nobody congratulated her.

At the Carmona house, Carmen answers the door and it is Diego. She doesn't seem too interested. He has been calling and calling her on her cell but she has not answered. Did he do something wrong!? No, that is just how models are. Granny and Conchita come to the door to see what is going on. Carmen is a real snot and says she asked him to go but he isn't going. Diego calls her a real pain. Granny calls him on that. Well, he just came by to find out about the dance rehearsals and more important to let her know that someone has accused her of stealing the answer key for the exam. Carmen immediately thinks it must be Francis. But that is not all: they opened her locker and found the exam booklet with the answer key inside.


 

Part 5

Isabel sits alone singing "Happy Birthday" to herself. She gets a phone call from Frederick. He sings "Las mañanitas" to her. He wants to know about the party. She makes up some excuse about there not being a party so she can spend her birthday more spiritually. Someone is at the door. She has to go. She goes to answer the door and it is Franklin Jackson Sánchez the private investigator. She thinks he has something to do with "Deep Chopa" (Deepak Chopra). No, he doesn't. He comes from the most paradise like part of the Caribbean. She wonders if he is selling timeshares. No, he is not. He is looking for Porfirio Carmona. They told him he lived in this neighborhood. She asks why does he want to find him. It is confidential. Very. She doesn't know him. She slams the door shut. Franklin suspects she knows something, maybe if he follows her someone will tell him where Porfirio Carmona is. To Isabel, the whole thing is just strange. What could they want don Porfirio for???. She will find out. When Franklin leaves we see Granpappy Porfirio in the background just walking along carrying a rabbit.

Thank you so much! I didn't start watching until the scene where Santi told Ale and Feli about Rocío's designing job. Your details were a life saver.

Is it just me or did Rocío look completely míserable when her siblings were congratulating her?

I'm really glad I didn't have to listen to Beto say there was still some fire with Hilda. So sorry you had to hear it, Jarifa.

I hate to say it, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Carmen chested all on her own.

The last few minutes of the epi were a bit odd to me. The scenes that stuck out were Isa's family pretty much ignoring her on her birthday (even though she deserves it). And Diego telling Carmen about the accustions in front of her grandmother. What's up with that?

Sara, since I am not a Carmen fan ( sorry but anyone of her age who would initially think of cheating on the test and ask someone (Diego) to help her is not a good/nice person.She can't be trusted.) it would not surprise me at all if she did it but that seems almost a little too simplistic for the trampa plot, but then again who knows?

Sara, so funny but I was drinking a coconut flavored sparkling water when I first saw your wonderful musical clip in the intro.

AuntyAnn, given Carmen's desire to cheat initially to solve her test taking problem, I had no problem with Diego telling her about the cheating allegations in front of Granny. Carmen is In full brat mode and her parents are unwilling to rein her in. Hang up on Facundo? Really? Maybe dealing with these accusations will calm her down a bit. I have to admit, I did feel a little--albeit very little--sorry for Isabel when her own mother didn't remember her birthday.

I'm a Diego fan and I think that his desire to be with Carmen is the only thing that's keeping me from outright hating her.

Truth time. I did feel badly for Isa. Perhaps it’s those luminous eyes, but she looked crushed…Corina is callous. I am shocked Santi and the children didn't make a big deal. They literally froze her out when working on the model.

As long as I am being honest – while my heart goes out to Carmen for having been the object of Francis' torment these many months, I haven’t cared for her in a while. And “Carmen starts insulting that lazy old pig” sealed the deal. I just loved how the dear pig sprawled out on the bed, completely relaxed. Yes, I dare say he was “in hog heaven”. Sorry, couldn’t resist.

Wonderful recap!

Agree Sara, I wouldn't be surprised if Carmen cheated. She is out of control. And the way she treated Diego last night was awful. She doesn't need a reality show, she needs a dose of reality!

Favorite line was Esteban's "what are you smoking" to Estefany!

The previews show Isa's surprise party but I felt terrible for her. Once she started crying they should have told her the truth.

I was a little confused by the Isa/Rocio/Maria scene. We know that Santi told Isa about Rocio's drawings. They talked about supporting her and sending her to a fashion school. Isa even contacted Frederick about getting her into one in Milan. Yes, she hadn't seen her sketches but she knew about them so if she was interested she could have asked Rocio to see them.
 

Carvivlie, I got the feeling that it was just another "it is always about Isabel" moment. I think she was jealous that María had seen the sketches and would have wanted Rocío to have "presented"them to her first. Will Isabel ever realize that it isn't all about her? She is sure getting a taste of it with the ignored bday.

Yes, the previews show a pretty lavish party for Isa, so the family really was punking her. Ale almost cracked when Isa started to cry, and I'm glad she took enough pity on Isa to give her that card. Having your birthday forgotten is a sting for anyone, but for a self-centered person like Isa, it must be torture.

Carmen's attitude this episode, and the way she treated Diego, show she obviously also needs to be taken down a few pegs, like Isa. I don't think she went through with cheating, but who knows.

It's time for Carmen to have a teeny tiny anvil. She really is out of control. Her hanging up on Fac was worthy of a very long grounding (even though she's an adult in college, she still lives at home under her parents' rules). I know it was played for laughs, but I really was a little shocked. Diego deserves better.

OT: Sara: Mask finale tonight! The DVD is available now. Going to order it today. New one starting next week is called The Gang Doctor. Sounds intriguing :)

I like that Diego changed, but not extremely. He just became a better version of himself-- not totally different, and not perfect.
 

Perhaps that's why he has so much patience with Carmen going through her jerk phase, because he was a jerk for so long.

Jarifa, thank you for clarifying every time you recap. Who would think that all these years that I've taken conversation Spanish at night school that I still understand so little.

I've been a Carmen naysayer from the beginning. Cheating would be no surprise to me. Her "Dorothy, from the Wizard of Oz" costumes turned me off from day 1, and I just can't stand her cutesy "wrap Fecu around her little finger" por fa act.

Please don't send Rocio to Italy to spend time with her despicable grandmother. Why are we wasting time on that woman. She does make Isa more enduring for sure.

Any scene with F&F is a winner for me. They must have had soooooooo much fun shooting their scenes together.

Sara, yes, just like Francis!

Call me old school, but at Carmen's age and at Beto's age ( Rocío's age and Felipe's age) they should either be studying and maintaining a certain gpa with a career goal in mind or working and contributing to the family whether the family needs the money or not. Carmen is too old to grounded but not too old to be shown the door/have to pay her own way at home if she chooses to be irresponsible. Looks like Facundo is responsible for her irresponsibility.

Just thinking of who I still like at this point: Margarito, Porfirio, Santiago, Rocío and Franklin with his beautiful eyes.

The "I want to be a super model dream" must be popular these days because we just saw it in QPTR.

During the F&F scene, while they are fighting back and forth, all I could think was how they both really want to be friends. They like each other but can't admit it and bury the hatchet. Though until Flo stops going after Maria, Fac has a good case for not burying it.
 

Lola, "Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz costumes" is a perfect description! Facundo and Florencio are always fun together. You can see the 'kid" in each if them as they interact and try to outmaneuver each other.

Carmen has gotten on my nerves so bad that I don’t mind that Frances probably set her up. I hope nobody gives Carmen a hand in defending herself. Let her dig herself out of this mess all alone. Diego called it. Carmen is a big pain.

So Isa had to call Fac because Maria is bugging her? Really?

I too was shocked that Beto is even thinking about Hilda. She’d hang onto him like a tick if she knew.

When I saw Ale looking cagey, I realized the Velascos had planned something. Ale would’ve never been so lowkey about her mom’s birthday. All the celebrations have been disasters so far. This one too?

Isa thinking Franklin was Deepak Chopra was a hoot.

I wanted Flo and Estef to get together too but the writers don't seem to be moving that forward. Agree she needs a quick redemption. And I don't want her with him just bec he has money. He is a good guy and deserves much better than that. I still don't understand why she hasn't forgotten about Fac and gone after him. He is single, rich, her age and good looking.

Capítulo # 102. 8/20/15

Part 1

"Of Confessions and Shindigs"

We start tonight at Florencio's Mexico City digs where El Panzón and pals are playing cards. Humilde has come tp pay them a visit and bring them some food gifts from the country for them and even for the Caromona's. Florencio offers to go with her to deliver the food to the Carmona house. There is lots of small talk but then the conversation turns to the guy who is looking for Porfirio.Humilde sent him to look in the city. They got tired of him asking around town. One of the guys says it could suit them to get to the guy asking the questions so they could find out what the Carmona secret is. (The feeling is that knowing the secret would give them some kind of advantage.)

María calls Facundo at work to tell him thay it looks like Carmen stole the answer key to the test she took. She says she studied like a mad woman to get that 8. Facundo says she will have to clear this up herself. María says she went with Diego to the university to take care of the matter. Facundo says she really crossed the line with this one. She will have to tell the truth for the good of her own dignity.

It is night and Isabel arrives to a dark house after having to try to celebrate her day all alone shopping. She is talking to herself and revewing her miserable day since there was nobody to celebrare her birthday with her. Finally sje turns on a light and sees that the whole living room is decorated in gold and black. Yes, it is a surprise party. Only adults and her immediate family. They all sing "Happy Birthday" in English to her. She has a big kiss for Santiago which will br the first of many that night.

Back at the Carmona house, Carmen is in her bedroom crying and tells Susana she does not want to talk about what happened at the university. Granny overhears and says yes, she will tell them what happened at the university. It turns out that the university lowered her test score to a 1 as a penalty for cheating. Susana is laughing her head off. Carmen is sure it has to be Francis that planted that answer key in her locker. They are going to investigate but until they have their findings she is stuck with the 1. It is not fair. No, they are not going to expel her. Susana has to remind her that she won't be going to any of her model events. Carmen says of course she is going. She got her 8. Carmen begs Granny not to tell her parents that they changed her 8 to a 1. Granny says she is sorry but she does not lie. Carmen gets just more dramatic at how unfair it all is.

Back at the party an Italian gentleman tells Isabella in Italian how this evening she is the most beautiful flower in the world so now they are all singing "Tanti Auguri a Te" (happy birthday in Italian). Santiago tells her to enjoy the party. It cost him plenty. Osabel says she did not expect it. She kisses Felipe, Rocío and Ale and thanks them.

Big surprise at the Carmona household: Facundo goes to answer the door and Francis, the bearer of bad news, is there saying she has something very important to tell them. Facundo tells her that she will not be coming into their home to Bad mouth Carmen. He almost closes the door on her. Francis insists that she has something to tell them that is for "Carmencita's" own good.

Back at the party don Gustavo is tellong Santiago how happy he is that Santiago and Isabel are the same as ever. Isabel tells everyone to enjoy and have a good time. They all chant "beso" and Isabel and Santiago kiss and kiss. The crowd applauds.

I laughed at "Francis, the bearer of bad news". Isn't that the truth! ;)

I so enjoyed seeing the Velascos happy last night. "She has a big kiss for Santiago which will be the first of many that night" was a welcome relief from the bickering, harsh words and indifference we've seen the last months.

I found the music rather odd though. Not the usual party band or DJ. What was playing? At first I thought it was a sax but it wasn't. The oboe?

I'm still not really sure exactly what happened with Carmen so will need to read the rest of your recap.

Lastly, Margarito looked quite a bit smaller. Was it me or was there a different sweet swine in his place? :)

Part 2

Carmen is in her room and is trying to prevent her parents from coming in. (Really??? They can't go into a room of their own house?). Carmen does not want to talk to anybody. Rather than breaking down the door, Facundo plays a trick on Carmen. It gets very quiet and the all that is heard are little pig noises of grunting and squealing. After a while Carmen opens the door and Margarito (sort of like a Trojan pig) comes in with Facundo and María following right behind him. Facundo says they found out what happened at the university. Carmen starts in with asking them to not take away their permission from her to do what she likes the most. María asaks if she wants a prize for stealiing the answer key. She did not steal it. She promises them. She did not do it. Granny brings in Francis saying that that is not what this girl says. Carmen is surprised to say the least. Carmen says that Francis planted the answer key in her locker and then accused her. Francis says she is right she is the one that accused her but "Carmencita" stole the answer key all on her own. Francis says she just showed her parents a video that she made that shows the exam with the answer key that she kept in her locker. Carmen closes her eyes and cannog believe what is happening. María wants to know how she could do something like this when they trusted her. Carmen starts unraveling. She studied and studied but nothing was sticking and she knew she needed that 8. For her it is important to be a model not study. María remknds her now important it was to go to the university whe they came from the country. Then we have flashbacks in sepia with Facundo and María talking about the importance of education in the city for their children. Facundo is so disappointed. Carmen turns on Francis and asks why she didn't show the video at the university so they could have expelled her. BINGO: Francis says: because there is no video and Carmen has ended up accusing herself.

At the party, Frederick is chit chatting with Esteban and trying to put the moves on him but Esteban is not taking the bait. Isabel and Santiago are dancing like they are at their wedding and Esteban has to take it upon himself to spoil the moment and congratulate Isabel. Rocío goves Isabel a special gift. It is a fashion sketch of hers. She was thinking of Isabel the whole time she did the design especially for her. She calls Isabel "mamá". She also tells her that she always wanted to be like her ever sknce she was a lilttle girl. Isabel is overcome and they hug. Santiago gives credit to Frederick for having planned it all.

Back at the Carmona house, Carmen tells Francis that she fooled her and she fell for it hook line and sinker. Francis says she just gave Carmen's parents an idea so they could find out what she did. Francis tells her she did it for Carmen's own good. Carmen is so very sorry. Facundo tells Carmen not to play the "victim" right now. María asks Francis to please not accuse Carmen at the university. Eventhough she deserves to ne expelled it really would not help the situation. Francis says she won't and leaves. Her intention was no pt to hurt "Carmencita" but to help her. (Was this whole thing a set up because Francis saw that Carmen had cheated? How was Diego involved? Confusing! Now Francis has more power over Carmen because she has the goods on her?) Carmen will be punished andfirst off she is to forget all about the modeling and the stupid reality show. Carmen blames it all on Francis and this being payback for Carmen accusing her of putting her pictures on the internet. María and Facundo don't care.

At the party, Santiago has a surprise for Isabel: a saxophone player playing "Las mañanitas". Everyone sings along. Isabel feels,loke she is dreaming. Sje yells pit that her husband loves her. She is very happy. Santiago and Isabel are kissing again. Everyone dances to the saxophone music until Santiago's next surprise arrives.
 

Part 3

Santiago's next surprise is an interview team from Televisa's show "Hoy" who are there to interview Isabel because she is such a great designer. The lights and cameras are there as well as makeup artist who is doing her makeup as a gift. He is sort of rushed though because he is coming from a telenovela he is doing. Of course the telenovela just happens to ne "Amor imposible". Isabel immediately wants to know if he does the makeup for the leading lady. Of course he does. The "Hoy" people ask Isabel a couple of questions and she ends up jumping and dancing around for the cameras. The next thing that happens is that the saxophone player plays and the whole party group does a group cheer spelling out "P-U-C-H-I-S"!!!!!

María and Facundo finally leave Carmen's room. María asks Facundo what are they going to do with Carmen being stuck on the modeling thing. He says that when they move back to the country, it will not be an issue.

Isabel and Santiago are dancing again to the saxophone music and Isabel is talking to Santiago, she says "I cannot avoid thinking about . . ." and that phrase links her to the past where she is addressing Santiago on another dance floor in her mind? In another dimension? There she is telling Santiago she cannot avoid thinking about what has happened to them when Santiago wanted to get the Carmona money and he asked her to come on to Facundo. Why did he ever ask her to do that? Santiago is all apologetc. She knows he has been with other women, too. Santiago does more apologizing begging her forgiveness on her birthday. She promises to behave herself tonight because she is very happy. Then we are back in the real world and they are happily dancing to the saxophone.mrocío is so happy seeing them looking like they are in love.

At the Carmona house, Facundo is knitting in bed when he is distracted by rhe party noises from next door. He goes to the window to look when María comes in. He says they are celebrating and are super happy. She asks if he wants to go. He tells her the last one in bed is a goat and he misses the bed and ends up on the floor still with the knitting in his hands.

Isabel's cake arrives. It looks like a pile of presents. It has one candle on it. they all sing "queremos pastel" (we want cake). Isabel makes a wish and blows out the candle but before she does Frederick interrupts asking how old she is (she answers not as old as you, you wrinkled thing) and Esteban insists on "joining the family" as they count down in unison for Isabel to blow out the candle. Then the whole party group snaps their fingers and does the Puchis cheer again.
 

Part 4

Pelancha the maid makes her way into the kitchen so she does not miss her telenovela. She sees "Amor imposiible" ( funny hearing the Televisa intro) as being just like the life of doña Chabela (Isabel). It is as if her life and Renata's in the novela are the same, is it coincidence or destiny! It is like a mirror. Ale comes in and she tells her she canmot miss her telenovela. Ale says she does not know much about them but they are always the same. Pelancha tells Ale this one is a good story and invites her to sit down and watch with her. She will take care of the guests during the commercials which come on every 12 minutes. Pelancha says how sad it is. Ale agrees it is very sad but interesting even for girls her age.

Facundo has a weird dream where he is acting and sounding like Santiago even though he is still Faciindo. He walks around the offices laughing a lot and talking to his Puchis. He suddenly wakes up screaming "let me go" and tells María about his bad dream. She tells him he could never be like Santiago no matter what he did. He has never stopped being the good man she fell in love with. He is worried dreams can become true. María says no. He asks if he can dream about her.

Back at the party they are all having a fine old time. Santiago just slapped his Puchis on the butt. Isabel ismgoing to cut some cake whenshe things she hears the makeup artist say that "Amor imposible" is being cancelled. He says no. Just today's recordong session was cancelled. You can tell she is relieved. They finally start cutting the cake. The saxophone plays and Isabel and Santiago reminisce about when they first met. Esteban has to ruin the moment by saying he cannot believe what he is seeing that Santiago and Isabel have reconciled after all they have been through. Santiago is not happy and tells Esteban that they are reconciled and have forgotten and forgiven all that happened including Esteban going after her (Isabel). Santiago excuses himself and Isabel. Time for another toast to the most beautiful woman who has ever stepped on this earth offered by Santiago. He loves Isabel and the saxophone plays on. All the guests dance along in a group. Looks like they are getting ready for another Puchis cheer.

It is,the next morning and Facundo has an air horn he is blowing in the house to wake everybody up. He has tickets to take the whole family to the fair. maría does not like the horn.

We are now in the offices of Dr. Mireya who is thinking about putting the moves on a new married man who has come to be treated. Sje has plans for him.

At fhe Carmona's everyone is up and María is makkmg sure they have a nice big breakfast before they go to the fair. Susan is worried about eating and then throwing up when she rides the rollercoaster. Susana and Jacinto drink their milk.

The Carmona family has fun at the fair from the bumper cars to the roller coaster. They even do a Carmona family cheer sspellong out their last name.

Franklin is wandering around the Carmona's animal pens and telling doña Martina on the phone that he has good news. He has finally found Porfirio Carmona. She says Porfirio's life will change forever.

Thank you, Jarifa! It does sound like a lot happened last night. Can't wait to curl up and watch it tonight. I can't stop laughing at "Trojan pig." That must have been cute.

Yes, Sara, Margarito was at his best.

Isabel's party seemed surreal at times especially with the strange saxophone music playing and choreographed "Puchis" cheer. It did have some good moments for Isabel.

The whole Carmen stealing the answer key was never made really clear to me. As I mentioned in the recap, I wonder how/if Francis will use the info she has on Carmen to try to control her.

The Mireya scene came out of no where with no apparent connection to the current plot.

Esteban must really be frustrated seeing the reconciled Santiago and Isabel. He was so obnoxios insinuating himself where he was not wanted at the party. I was happy when Santiago made it clear that he Esteban was no longer an issue between him and Isabel.

It was good seeing Franklin on the Carmona property because we are so much closer then to the Martina/Porfirio mystery being solved.

An interesting but odd episode.

Thanks, Jarifa! I can't believe a party went off without a hitch. That's the first one since this started. It was a perfect party for Isa. Totally focused on her, and a camera crew and makeup artist to the stars too. I was happy for her.

This is what I understood from the test/cheating scandal: Francis stole the answer key and put it in Carmen's locker as a test to see if Carmen would cheat. She then says she recorded Carmen using the answer key while she took the test. That's when Carmen admitted to cheating. So she cheated, but she didn't steal the answer key. She fell into Francis's trap, and it serves her right.
 

Thanks, Vivi. Now that was convoluted: of course Carmen can't complain because she used the answer key. So, she and Francis are basically even. They each have the goods on each other but cannot do anything without incriminating themselves in the process. They are linked in their dishonesty. Yikes! This is getting heavy.

Should be a good one tonight.

I was confused by the Francis/Carmen thing too so thanks Vivi for clearing that up. After what Francis did, even if I was mad at Carmen, if i was Fac or Maria I would have kicked Francis out to the curb.

My cable decided to reboot with 5 minutes left so I missed the fair scenes :(

And I was so sure we were going to be subjected to more of Carmen's por fa and endless whining but no .. there they are off to the amusement park. Did we have a "semanas despues" and I missed it?

Since TNs are known to give "lessons", let's hope one of them is that Carmen needs to stop the entitlement thing, let alone the immaturity, and take responsibility for her actions. Fac (especially) and Maria need to hold a firm line here.

Ale sure is growing up.

Loved Rocio's dress. But what was up with Isa's?! I think it would be very uncomfortable to wear a dress you have to adjust all the time. Plus it's distracting for the viewer--at least it was for me.
 

I didn't think Isa's dress was flattering at all. She has a great figure but that dress didn't show it.
