Amores con Trampa #104 of misbehaved kids... of a couple trying to revive the fire... of two grown men going on a scavenger hunt ... and a copter gadget on the loose

Refritos: The carmonas are enjoying themselves at the carnival, including bumper cars and the giant water bubbles in the pool.
Lo Nuevo:
Perpetua and Porfirio are playing arcade games, shooting games.  Actually, the whole family is there. Seems Abuela Perpetua is very comfortable shooting that gun… she and Porfirio keep teasing each other.   The game is over. Seems Susana won.  She beat Facu, Beto, Porfirio, Perp, Carmen and Jacinto.
Now they are in the roller coaster… Facu and Carmen at the front seat.  Facu is the one that looks the most out of place or ‘not quite in his trade’.  Jacinto looks scared or sick. Porfirio comments later that he did not enjoy it that much either. He jokes that she does not feel anything because she’s already dead (Yikes, Porfirio! That was not nice!)
Later on at office, Rocio comes to see Beto.  Beto is a bit cutting with her about the party at her house that she did not invite him to.  She tries to explain.  He says he got it that her family does not like him.  He tells her with tears that the worst thing that happened to him since arriving at the city was to meet her.  She painfully agrees… and apologizes.  Hilda comes in. RoCio asks him if he and Hilda are back together and he dryly says ‘none of your bidnez’.  Rocio leaves hurt.  Hilda tries to cheer Beto up.. but he says he feels ‘de la trompada’ (real bad).
Back at Carm house, Porfirio is at dinner table with family again arguing with Conchita and Perpetua about the boiled eggs.  Carmen runs in.  She is trying to fake like her punishment was lifted already… PSYCH!!! Maria and Facu tell her the trip to the carnival was an exception but she can’t even use her car. They demand her keys back.
Back to the office.  Beto agrees with Hilda to go out to dinner together.  He leaves. Felipe comes back. He again is a bit sarcastic with he ‘support’ of Beto.  Felipe says its no secret to anyone that they have a history. Hilda says its no secret either that she is falling for another guy (Felipe can’t help but smile about that).

Franklin arrives at the Carm door. Conchita opens and seems instantly smitten at Frankie (really, Conchita??)  She barely can tell Porfirio, Facu and the rest of the family that Franklin was asking for Porfirio (did I mention that Porfirio has a shotgun in his hands? Watch out Franklin!)  Porfirio guesses right that Franklin is the PI that he had heard is looking for Porfirio.  Facu also asks Franklin why he is looking for Porfirio so hard.
Hilda has a new guy to name as ‘ito’ ‘ote!’.   She tells him he should pack his bags, she will take care of making him fall in love with San Bartolo and he won’t want to come back to the city.
At the house after Franklin, Facu and Porfirio go outside to talk, Maria and Perpetua want Conchita to tell them what she knows.
Outside, Franklin tells Porfirio and Facu that behind his project of finding him, there is a ‘dame’. He is not authorized to give them details about her but he needs to arrange for a meeting between her and them asap.  Facu briefly stares at Porfirio and then speaks for the two saying ok you got it. Porfirio says ‘I want to know that ‘manguito’ already!’
At Velascos bedroom… Isa is spying out the window.  She knows that guy has been asking about Porfirio. She tells Santee all about it.  He agrees that something strange is going on.   (I like those flowers in the room!)
The Carm men come back in the house and Maria and Perpetua can’t wait to hear the details.  All Porf knows is that Franklin is his name.
At dancing class at college, the teacher is asking about Carmen.  Francis wants the teacher to forget about Carmen. She wants him to drop her from class.  Diego defends Carmen.  Felipe tells the teacher that Francis is constantly making up her stories.  Diego asks Felipe why he is defending Carmen. Hilda jumps in and also asks Felipe why he is butting in.  Teacher asks them to settle it.  He warns Diego that if Carmen does not show up he will assign Diego another partner because the ‘60s, 70s and 80s performance’ will go on with or without her. Teacher also warns Felipe that his leg better be good enough to stay in the show. IF Felipe’s leg continues to hurt, he is out.
Isa is in her bedroom looking at some comics and she is imagining Santee’s face (well, not really, seems she is looking at old pictures and yes, she is imagining young Santee and Estefi, his gf from about 5 mos, dancing a number from Grease. Too funny seeing Ernesto imitate Travolta.  Out goes ‘Danny’ and in comes ‘Sandy’ Isa.  Isa-Sandy and Estefi start arguing about who is stealing who’s bf.   Out comes girl number 3 the heavier girl… she is the Doctor!... Here is another of the guys, greasy Esteban.  He dances with Isa/Sandy.   Yikes! The doctor with thick brows is a sickening picture!  They start dancing a ‘rock around the clock’ number.  (the doctor, Estefi, Esteban and Isa’s characters).
Back to real time… she realizes she did have a crush on Santee back then.   Santee comes in and hears the end of that tearful confession.  He walks away… he is moved… ‘I know, Puchis… we’ll be that wonderful couple again’
In the girls room at Carm, Carmen and Yoya are arguing and Carmen tells her she is desperate because she can’t go to the reality show casting or to the dance performance at school. She will miss the dance because of Pancha.  Susana says ‘you are punished for what you did’.  Carmen is trying to get Susana to cover her sneaking out.  Carmen had a box with all her savings, she is trying to buy Susana’s help. Teases Susana saying she can buy Margarito all the outfits she wants… Porfa, Porfa, Porfa, Porfa, Porfa!!
At Rocio’s room, she and Isa are talking.  About Hilda’s trying to poison her, Rocio is very afraid that Beto will fall for Hilda again. She thinks she lost him already.  Isa hugs her and says ‘no you didn’t. don’t suffer’. (isn’t Isa the one that convinced Rocio to break up with Beto?? … someone needs to be clubbed upside her head!!)
The Carmonas and the lovely white and black rabbit are at picnic tables outside Carm house.  Gray rabbit is cute too!  Facu gives them a great news that has to do with Franklin.  Maria is going to go get some food she fixed that Facu and Beto jump for joy about.   Facu starts yelling for Jacinto. Maria notices Beto is kind of out of it.  He claims he is just hungry.
Susana is worried in her room…  she is trying to call Yoya on her cel and yoya is not answering. She leaves a voice mail warning Yoya that her parents are asking about her.  She then smiles and counts her money.
In Isa’s bedroom, Felipe comes to help her and to tell her he is proud of her.  He is happy for seeing her and Santee give it another try.  What else could happen to help her reconcile?  Isa jokes with him a bit.  She tells him marriage is difficult. She and Santee have hurt each other, have to give it some time.  Isa assures him that once they realize they both are fully committed to it, they will be the happy couple they used to be.
Facu is at the girls room door. Susana tries to convince him that Yoya is trying to get sleep, but Facu won’t have any.  Susana thinks he is convinced but he does a 180 and opens the door. But Yoya is back so he never discovers the trick.
At dinner table, Facu and Porfirio tell the family they have to return to San Bartolo el Chico ASAP. The rest of the family are impactados and ask why.  They all start to talk at the same time. Maria has to yell at everyone to be quiet. Then she asks Facu for explanation. It has to do with Franklin. Porfirio says that a lady is looking for him and he can’t wait to go meet her.  Conchita asks what are you saying?  Facu says its no joke, he and Porfirio have to go back to town. They have to meet this woman and find out what is going on.
At Florencio’s room, he is also returning to San Bartolo. He has realized that no matter what tune he dances to in front of Maria, its no use.  He is tired of waiting.  Enough is enough!  Panzon says he would never have guessed he would hear Florencio say that.  Hilda asks what about me. Florencio says you can stick around here and find your way.
Back at Carm dinner table, Jacinto says they all have to finish the school year.  Carmen reminds them that her graduation dance is coming and the whole family has to come.  Facu says he and Porfirio have to go.  Porfirio says he will just go and return… and who knows, maybe he will return married.  Conchita protests.  He gives Estefi a free compliment.  Facu tells the kids they don’t have to go they can finish the school year. And Maria will stay in charge. Maria poutily says she will miss him. He will miss her too.  Facu is sad… but it only makes him more hungry for the pork butt she fixed.
Florencio says he will stop by at the Carmonas before he leaves.  Panzon insists he can’t believe the Great Florencio Gallardo is throwing the towel.  Flo is not appreciating him twisting the knife.  He has to go back and think what he will do next.
Jacinto shows Beto in their room a new copter gadget. They will go to the backyard to fly it.  Beto gets a  phone call on his cell so he stays behind.  Jacinto goes to fly the copter on his own.  The dance teacher asks Beto to take Felipe’s spot in the dance performance.  Beto tries to politely pass but the teacher hangs up on him after thanking him.
At the office, Facu announces to the executives that he will have to go away for a few days for a personal issue.  Esteban protests, needs a justifiable explanation.  Facu insists its just a personal matter.  All executives leave but Facu tells Esteban and Felipe that he won’t leave until Carmen’s dance recital is over.
At Carmona’s door, Florencio came with a bottle in basket… ‘its details that some folks at San Bartolo el Chico sent you all’.  He gives Porfirio his favorite, a big bread bun with cinnamon.  Florencio keeps pulling stuff out of the basket for everyone.  He gives Maria a cross necklace. (is that gold?)
Carmen and Susana seem to get on fight mode… Florencio says he came also to tell them he is going back to San Bartolo el chico.
Out in the backyard, Jacinto is playing with the copter toy… it flies with remote control.
At office, Facu is stormed at his office by Maria and whole family (minus Porfirio and Jacinto) procession.  Beto tells him they have great news… they tell him its about Florencio and Facu gets on defense mode.
Back at the house, Conchita tells Jacinto she has to go somewhere, will be back in a while.  Jacinto is excited about controlling an even bigger apparatus when he grows up to fly all the way to the moon.
The copter gets away from Jacinto. He gets worried but follows the copter/drone to the neighbor house yard.  He sees it but when he goes to get it he falls into some hole in the ground, seems it’s a covered waterhole. He starts to yell for help but there’s no one around.

Previews: seems the one that has a chance to rescue Jacinto is none other than… wait for it… wait for it… ISA!!! VO: She is the ONLY ONE that can save him!!

Thank you, Marta! I so needed your translations of Florencio's lines!!

I really liked Santi as a 50s greaser. That whole segment was fun!

I'm off to bed, but I be by again in the morning.

Thank, you Marta. Great recap! Absolutely loved " Someone needs to be hit upside her head." So true!

So

Beto is now going to be in the dance competition. Does that means that Hilda will be his partner. (?)

Porfirio says he might even come back married from San Bartolo el Chico. Now that he knows that a woman is looking for him, this visit seems more like an adventure for him. Facundo is clearly the more worried of the two.

That was some huge cinnamon concha that Florencio brought for Porfirio.

Carmen still has not learned her lesson. No anvil for her yet. Hope she gets a good one soon. At least Margarito is going to benefit from her needing Susana to cover for her.

Esteban was sure nervy asking Facundo for his trip details. It was none of his business.

The dangers of playing with drones! I wonder how long Jacinto will be stuck in the well before someone discovers him.

Jarifa

Marta, another outstanding episode. I so enjoyed your flair and panache. You peppered this perfectly with your wry comments. My favorite was: "Conchita opens and seems instantly smitten at Frankie (really, Conchita??)".

Only able to see a few scenes but it appears they were among the more pivotal ones. I so enjoyed the Carmona's outing! Loved Fac hitting the horse on the carousel with his hat to go faster and those very cool water bubbles. The roller coaster looked fun and exhilarating. So sorry I missed the Grease scenes, I’m going to try and watch this tomorrow.

So Feli is out of the dance content and it seems Carmen is soon to be as well(?) If Diego and Francis end up as partners, I’m going to scream…

"Hilda says its no secret either that she is falling for another guy (Felipe can’t help but smile about that)". Really? Well, that makes one of us. I feel Hilda has gotten away scot free with some heinous behavior. Doesn’t seem quite right does it?

I loathed the Rocio/Beto confrontation, it was very painful to watch. Even more, I highly resented that Beto actually sort of smiled and seemed happy to see Hilda (who made another untimely appearance)! Ack.

I do think that was a beautiful cross Flor gave Maria (looked like gold to me too Marta). Flor has excellent (and obviously expensive) taste. Is he sincere about giving up his pursuit of Maria?

Poor Jacinto! Perhaps Isa can continue to redeem herself if she rescues Jacinto.

Susana with her "dukes" every ready to rumble, just makes me smile. Enjoyed the rabbits too.

Marta, thank you!

Diana

Jarifa, I thought that yes, Beto and Hilda will be dance partners. Sigh.

I was waiting for the drone to land on the roof and was relieved when I saw it on the ground. That was of course until poor Jacinto fell in.

Diana

I just saw that Pasión y poder is an up and coming TN.

In addition to our dearly missed Susana Gonzalez, this features Jorge Salinas, Fernando Colunga, Michelle Renaud[from La Sombra] and Altair Jarabo!

Not sure when this will air. I am hoping this ends up in an early timeslot but I'm doubtful.

What a cast!

Diana

Diana, thanks for the info on "Pasión y poder". So much to watch and so little time! : (

Jarifa

Sipping my coffee and enjoying comments.

It does look like Beto and Hilda and Francis and Diego are going to end up partners. Blech.

The rabbits were my favorite part of the night and I love that you mentioned them, Marta. I lived that the actors were casually petting them as they acted out the scene.

I am quite smitten with Franklin, too. He's very handsome.

Diana- Pasión y Poder follows Lo Imperdonable in Mexico. You never know anything with Univision, but I can't imagine they won't bring it to the US. It will probably end up being one of my weekend catch up novelas.

Jarifa - I'm trying to keep up with 5 novelas right now and I'm always behind! And even with three of them ending soon I won't get relief because I want to see the shows that follow too!

Marta- Thanks so much for this fun recap.

You can really feel that they were asked to stretch this tn out a little longer, but I enjoyed the family outing nonetheless.

Seems appropriate that just Fac and Porf will go meet the mystery lady in SBeC, since if it's Fac's mom, that's where the history for those three started and ended. I can't imagine how Fac will react to this revelation.

Since the family still wants to go to see Carmen at the school dance, shouldn't they be allowing her to go to the rehearsals? I don't understand why she had to sneak out to go.

Isabel was remembering the same dance competition. The dance teacher said it was a tradition at that uni, that their parents likely did. Then we had Isa looking through her pics and remembering when she, Santi, Este, Stefi and Mireya all participated. That was a reall fun bit, with the consumes, hair, and comic book/graphic novel look.

I liked the comic bit because I thought the animation/effects were a brilliant way to indicate their youth without a straight played flashback that could have made the actors look ridiculous (I'm looking at you Triunfo de Amor.)

Sara, yes, Franklin is quite striking.

Isabel's "trip down memory lane" was cute and well done.

Also loved Susana closing her eyes and catching the "aroma" of the money when Carmen offered it to her.

Just too much to like about last night.

Jarifa

I missed Susana catching the aroma of the money. And did I see Perpetua putting up her dukes too?

Porfirio's cinnamon concha - whenever I see bread in the TNs it looks so delicious. We've got a panificadora in town. I really should go check it out.

Thanks Marta !!! Lots of fun last night and only a couple of Carmen por fa's to cover.

Agree, Isa's photo book, dance memories were fun. Sebastion and Santi must have loved doing this skit. Cool dudes.

I don't get it either. Carmen is grounded but they're going to go see her in the dance competition? These competition scenes are not my favorite. Everyone stands around in a dismal room not quite knowing what they're doing there with all of them making jabs at each other. Dreary.

At this point, I'd like to see Rocio back with Diego now that they've both matured a bit. Beto and Carmen have a long ways to go, and I'm tired of them.

Pobrecito Jacinto .. yes, Isabel's key to redemption unless she uses it to start in on Facu again. Like his kids, I think he still has a ways to go and could be easily swayed.

Uh oh, Hilde left alone in that apartment. What WILL she cook up.

However, we only have a few weeks to happily ever after !!

Lola

That's an interesting thought, Lola. I guess I'm stuck on the Rocio/Beto relationship, but Rocío and Diego might be the more mature pairing. Beto was just horrid last night. He really let me down.

Comment bomb

Also a good point about the rehearsals, Lola. There better be a spectacular musical dance number after suffering through the rehearsal scenes.

Jarifa and Marta, thanks for yesterday and today. Fun reliving both episodes through your storytelling.

Wondering who was behind the teacher calling to get Beto in the dance. Francis? So she can get Feli away from Hilda? I’m very suspicious. I think Beto is still in as long as his leg holds up.

Loved the Grease comic, especially Esteban doing the twist with both girls.

Count me in on the Franklin fan club. He makes quite a striking figure in a suit and tie and those gray blue eyes knocking on the door. When finally Tia met Franklin in San Bartolo Chico and told him where to look for Porfirio, I wondered if the writers might hook her up with Franklin.

I do get why Beto was brusque with Rocio when she visited him in the office. His pride has been hurt and she can’t just take a break from him and return when she gets ready. But I do wish he had kept silent and simply listened to what Rocio had to say. Sigh.

Hmmm, Fac is progressing. He used to put Beto “in charge” of the house when he was away. This time he put Maria in charge. Of course, every time he left Beto in charge there was a (Francis-made) disaster.

Oops, "Feli is still in as long as his leg holds up."

I find Franklin easier to understand too.

I was bothered by Beto letting Rocío think something might be going on between him and Rocío. That wasn't very nice.

If Isa saves Jacinto and doesn't make moves on Fac, I wonder if she and Maria will bury the hatchet.

Does anyone knows who the actor is that plays Franklin?

Jarifa

Finally found it. Franklin is played by Rudy Casanova a Cuban actor.

Jarifa

Thanks, Jarifa!!

He has been in whole bunch of novelas including most recently HEFDM (saw that but don't remember him) and LPA (never saw) . Only been watching telenovelas for three years so there are tons of actors I have never seen.

Jarifa

Which novela is LPA?

I've only been watching since Soy Tu Dueña, but I've tried to catch up on some on DVD.

What have you seen Jarifa? (If you don't mind me being nosy.)

"Libre para amar"
Let me see.

What about you?

This is interesting.

Jarifa

Jarifa- He was the poet friend of La Generala in Hasta...Dinero and the boxing coach for Lucas in Hasta el Fin.

Vivi, thank you, you truly have a wonderful memory! It must be the close ups and the suit that has set him apart in this one.

Jarifa

Cool!! I definitely see your preference for comedies and I see a lot on the list that I wish I had given more time.

Well, I'm kind of tied to what cable gives me. (No particular order here. More like struggling to recall and listing them as I remember...)

Soy tu dueña
Triufo de Amor
1/2 of La que no podia amar
Abismo de Pasion
Amores Verdaderos
Dama y Obrero (Telemundo)
Mentir Para Vivir
La Malquerida
De que te quiero te quiero
Cuna de Lobos (HANDS DOWN FAVORITE)
Cachito de Cielo (a favorite)
Most of Reina de corazones (Telemundo)
1/2 of La impostora (Telemundo)
Sra Acero (Telemundo ...and campy but I loved it soo much!)
La Gata
Amores con Trampa
El amor lo manejo yo (Chile)
La Chúcara(Chile)
Quiero Amarte
Por Siempre Mi Amor
La Sombra del Pasado
Yo no creo en los hombres (always waaay behind)
Amorcito Corazon

And I've seen a lot on DVD...Like Para Volver a Amar. It's on Netflix now and I want to try to watch the whole thing...along with PESE ;-)

Sara, that is quite a list. I have the dvd set for "Soy tu dueña" and hope to see it some time because of Lucero and Jorge Salinas. I find the title "Cuna de lobos" intriguing and since it is your favorite,I might have to find that one when I have time. LFMB is my "go to" all time favorite. I am tempted to give "Muchacha italiana viene a casarse" a try but there is so much coming up on network and cable with the fall
almost upon us.

Jarifa

One of the reasons I stick to the afternoon and early evening shows is because of fall DVR conflicts. Lol. I was worried that Lichita was going to end up in a late slot (like Que Pobres Tan Ricos.) I'm glad it's not.

Correction: Soy tu dueña with Lucero and Fernando Colunga. My brain is still on summer vacation.

My problem is that I can always find something that I like on tv. If I watch 2 novelas that is ten hours of viewing time a week right from the start and I haven't even started to watch anything else.

Such hard decisions to make! : )

Jarifa

There's a LFMB marathon on one of my cable channels tonight. I might try to watch a few episodes (even if I won't know what's going on. Lol)

Cuna de lobos is very good. It's from the 80s and it reaired earlier this year. I'm glad I got to see it. Very suspenseful and dark.

It really IS difficult to make choices. Time is so precious and limited.

I liked Mi corazón es tuyo well enough but had to stop watching because new TNs debuted that I was more interested in and there wasn't time to watch everything I wanted.

Outside of news and an occasional program, Uni is all I watch during the week. I do watch a little PBS, Bravo, Animal Planet and HGTV on the weekend.

Watching this and being with all of you has made what has been a difficult time for me these past few months very welcome and grand fun. Thank you.

Diana

Awww! I'm so glad you're here. Group hug!

(Caray is such a special place.)

Diana, I second Sara's comment! Yes, this blog is pretty special!

Jarifa

Btw, guys... Angelica Maria and Ricardo Blume (playing Fiorela's dad here) were the leads in a version from the 80s of Muchacha Italiana viene a casarse. I remember watching it when i was in probably middle school. in Puerto Rico. That was with a young Angelica Maria, back when she did Amor en el aire with Fernando Allende et al...

Is the one coming after Amores con Trampa a remake of Betty la fea? Please say it ain't so!

Hey Marta!

The one following this is an original story. I've seen a lot of comments on Mexican sites about it looking just like Betty la fea/La fea más bella but the producer (Rosy Ocampo) says it's not. I think the writer is from Spain.

Marta: Was Muchacha italiana romantic? Sombra really didn't have a lot of love and I'd like to see some in Muchacha italiana.

Marta, thanks for the info!

I saw a promo that does look like this may mirror Betty la fea. But, I never watched that.

I'm all for a good "ugly duckling" transformation. My favorite was in Amor Real with the late Marianne Levy and of course our amazing Ernesto LaGuardia. I love actors that can do both good and evil and he certainly can (although he was reformed in AR).

Like you Sara, I would really like to see a real love story. As good as La Sombre has been, it sadly lacked in a believable "I'd rather die than live without you" lead couple.

And, as much as I love this, I would not have minded a few more Fac/Maria love scenes. Sans Facundo's shirt of course :)

Hugs to all. Sleep well.

Diana

Most of the Televisa novelas from the 80s were pretty romantic. With few exceptions, of course . But there was a wave of novelas at that time aimed at family like Mundo de Juguete, and then the teenage ones started showing up like Quinceanera and the ones with young Angelica Vale. About Muchacha Italiana itself, i was very young and don't remember the novela that much other than it being about what we have already seen in previews, they met in Italy and then reunited in Mex... and after a roller coaster ended up together....
There seems to be a slew of villains in that one, so not sure if they all will be not as graphic and violent as La Sombra but probably will have some villains getting away with some stuff.

I've not seen Berry la fea nor LFMB so the story will be new to me. Like I said though, it is supposedly completely original. We shall wait and see.

Ernesto Laguardia has been delightfully funny in this, but I do remember seeing a few scenes in Corona de Lágrimas and he was not delightful at all.

Thanks for that info, Marta. I can handle villains get away with things up to a point. Sombra has pushed my limit.

And would it be a Telenovela if there wasn't a roller coaster until the leads get together? Lol.

Oh, and Amores con trampa has been good except that Fac wore his shirt too much. I agree with you Diana.

I am looking forward to "Antes muerta que Lichita". The original title was "Más canija que ninguna". Makes me smile.

Jarifa

Sara, re: your comment from awhile back. "Will Isa saving Jacinto precipitate Maria burying the hatchet?" Interesting, and that may be the only way it might happen .. well, if Isa keeps away from Facu, that is.

Lola

And, as much as I love this, I would not have minded a few more Fac/Maria love scenes. Sans Facundo's shirt of course :)

Diana, thanks for my afternoon laugh.

Looking forward to tonight's episode. Hopefully Jacinto in the well will get resolved quickly.

Didn't some child fall down a well in Una familia con suerte?

And I'm really hoping Isa is over Fac and she and Maria stop fighting.

Sara- Yeah, the annoying Temo fell down the well in Familia, and we rejoiced. Mainly because we got to see hot/buff Enzo get wet when he went to rescue him. :)

Oh that's the sidebar quote!
