Sara, thanks again for the more than generous intro. You creativity knows no limits, amiga. And after a long day at school to boot. It is appreciated.

Recap up per usual late tonight, early a.m.

Jarifa

Looking forward to it, Jarifa. You're really taking one for the team. Ugh. Hilda. And she wasn't even over the top obnoxious and she still made my blood boil. I wish she and Francis would go away.

Capítulo #92 8/5/15

"Carmen Can't Catch a Break and Santiago Gets Lucky Only in His Dreams"

Part 1

Well tonight after the repeated scene, we start off with Mireya following Esteban into his apartment telling him that they are going to talk about business. He doesn't know what business that would be because the only business they had together was she making Santiago fall in love with her: an opportunity she threw away. She asks if he has wine. He asks if there are sharks in the sea, chuckles and goes for the wine.

Carmen and Diego are at a fancy French restaurant. Diego orders snails. Carmen is impressed with the whole ambience. She never thought she would have a date just like she had always dreamed having. Diego has a super special night planned for herr. Nothing will ruiin it. They toastmwith a little bit of wine.

Back at the Carmona's, Francis is telling Facundo and María that she knows where the restaurant is. She then adds that Diego has made a reservation at a hotel for them. Francis will take them. Facundo cannot be calm when the honor of his daughter is at stake. Off they go!

Back at Esteban's he says that since Isabel is regaining her sanity they are going to have to come up with a new plan. Mireya reminds him that neither Santiago or Isabel want to see her. They are trying to reconcile. Esteban reminds her that their purpose is to take Santiago's money. They need the money. He tells her that the hen laying the golden eggs is running out of time. She needs to make Santiago fall in love with her again. He does not care how she does it. She is agreeable. They toast.

Jacinto is in his room thinking about so many animals so close to extinction and how animals are poorly treated. He recognizes that they have feelings like people do. He then falls asleep and in a black and while dream continues this theme promising all of their barnyard animals that nobody will treat them badly like people have done. He has all sorts of good ideas on now to make their lives better: keep them at the proper weight, give them baths, time off, etc. They cheer for him chanting "Jacinto, Jacinto . . ." Since they have to respect the trees he will make a bathroom for the male animals and one for the females. He is muttering "un baño" in his sleep which draws the attention of Susana who wakes him up from his dream. Sad for Jacinto but he does not make it to the baño and wets himself.

Rocío finds her grandmother Corina out in the yard with a pair of binoculars. It soon becomes apparent that Corina is interested in seeing the very handsome "Facundini" that Isabel has been talking about. Rocío informs her that he is married. Corina does not find that a problem at all.

At the restaurant, Carmen says the snails are okay but that they fix them better on the grill with guajillo chile sauce back in her home town. Diego has to excuse himself from the table for a moment before they have their main course and dessert and leaves Carmen alone with two of Francis's pals watching from another table.

Part 2

Rocío tells Corina not to even think about doing anything crazy. María and Facundo are one of those couples that will be together for a lifetime. She also knows now why her aunt Isabel is the way she is. She laughs quietly and leaves Corina alone in her snooping. She gets an eyeful when Granpappy Porfirio comes out and does some stretching and exercises. She quotes a proverb "An old hen makes a good broth" and is ready to prove that is true.

Nicole and Jessica are the two friends watching Carmen at the restaurant for Francis. Nicole really is bothered by what they are about to do but they are doing it for Francis. They go over to Carmen's table and basically inform her that Francis told them to tell Carmen the truth about Diego. Carmen's date is following exactly what she described as her dream date in her diary. They even have the photo of the page on a phone to remind her. He saw it, too. Next they tell her that Diego also has made a resevation at the hotel on the corner. If she does not believe them, she can go check it out herself. So, Carmen goes to check it out leaving an empty table for Diego with Nicole and Jessica.

At the Velasco house, Santiago comes into his bedroom in his pj's and robe and Isabel is on their bed smiling at him in her nightie. He is so happy to see his Puchis like that and he asks what is going on. She says it has been so long since they have been together that he deserves a prize. What better prize than her? He thinks she is more like the grand prize. He suddenly stops and seriously asks her what the fine print is on the contract behind all of this. Tonight she will be his and calls him "Pachis". He loves when she calls him Pachis. She loves him. Just let her show him. She kisses him. Then we see and hear Santiago squealing with delight as his dream is continues. He wakes up Isabel and then he awakens. He is all excited. He tells her he was dreaming he was with her and they made love. It becomes clear very quickly that his dream will not become reality anytime soon as she reminds him about Mireya and Estefany.

Carmen goes to the hotel and it is clear that Diego did rent a room. There is a reservation in his name. Diego has followed her there. She pushes it away. He denies it. It is all a lie. She is mad and calls him a coward. She goes on about how he copied her dream date from the diary page that Francis showed him. She hates him. María and Facundo arrive and she runs to them. Facundo tells Diego off. He says he is like a little boy who still soils his underwear. He may wear long pants, but he is not a man. What a disappointment! They expected so much more of him. The Carmona's go home and Diego is legt very sad and upset. He is about to get more upset because a laughing Francis appears to let him know it was all payback for him rejecting her.

Santiago is still trying to get Isabel to change her mind. She says they are going to go slowly. As he kisses her and is all over her, he wants to know why. She is afraid he is going to cheat on her again. She is ready to sleep. She kisses him on the forehead. If he behaves himself, she will --all we hear is her chipmunk voice as she whispers in his ear. Santiago is left unhappy as Isabel falls asleep

Part 3

Carmen has just returned home with her parents and Facundo is lecturing on and on. They believe everything Francis had to say. She is trying to tell them how they fooled her. Granny Perpétua comes out and Facundo gives her a piece of his mind for knowing and supporting what Carmen was up to. Granny is not happy Carmen involved her. All crying Carmen wants to do is go to bed.She tells Facundo he can scold her tomorrow. She goes to cry on her bed across from a snoozing Margarito on Susana's bed. Susana appears to make matters worse. Carmen asks jer what she wants and a smirking Susana tells her she wants to buy a new pair of pijamas for Margarito but Carmen still has not paid her. Can't Susana see she is suffering? Well, Margarito is suffering from the cold because he does not have pj's. Well of she does not pay up she will be suffering more scolding from their dad. How is he going to take that Carmen had photos taken of her when she was almost naked? Carmen says she was not naked. She was in a bikini. She doesn't care who says or does what. A still smirking Susana tells her says that she saw her on the internet in the newspaper that is going to come out tomorrow and that the photo is enormous.

The whole Carmona family is at the breakfast table except for Carmen. As Facundo is reading the paper he comes across a full page ad of the photo of Carmen and Diego. He is so shocked he almost chokes on his food, María comes around and when she sees it, she crosses her arms across her chest like a corpse and falls backwards and out of sight. Of course Facundo starts bellowing for Carmen. Granpappy Porfirio thinks it might be a good thing to take Jacinto out to do something worthwhile.

Of course Corina is outside when Granpappy and Porfirio pass on by on their way to the animal pens. They say a neighborly hello to each other. Isabela comes out to compliment her mother on a panini recipe. It utrns out that Isabel and her mother have had a terrible, scary even "Felliniesque" relationship over the years. Corina seems to think it has been Isabel's fault for never taking her advice. Isabel tells her she is not there to assign blame for any of it. She just wants to take advatage of this time together to start fresh.

Jacinto and Granpappy talk about the good that comes from getting up early. "A quien madruga, Dios le ayuda" (God helps those who get up early) "God helps those who help themselves." They go to milk LaLa.

Isabel tells Corina she is trying to reconcile with Santiago. Corina doesn't expect mich from that and tells her that madness is making ghe same mistakes but expecting different results. On the other hand, she is all for making things better between Isabel and her. Corina then expresses an interest in meeting Facundini. Maybe she would have a chance with him. Isabel tells her that is a "no".

Part 4

Susana is screaming for her parents as she grabs Carmen to keep her from going to school. Estefany is happy she is having success pitting the Carmona's against each other. She thinks of an old proverb "Divide y vencerás" "Divide and you will conquer." Facundo shows Carmen the newspaper wthe the full page photo of her and Diego and asks her what kind of garbage this is. She looks pleased when she sees it. She tries to explain to them that it is work. Facundo doesn't get how going around naked like that is "work" and tries to blame it on Diego.carmen clesrly states that nobody convinced her to do it. She made up her own mind. It was part of a serious modeling campaign so she did it. She tries to leave for the university at that point but Facundo starts in now on how he was never in favor of her modeling and after last night's problems she is grounded in her room until they decide something else.

At the Belasco house, Conchita walks in on Santiago and Isabel kissing in the dining room. She picked them up a lemon pie when she picked up the Carmona's pies.she also saw they had a new maid. She hopes that she turns out to be as good for them as she was. They go back to kissing when Ale, Felipe amd Rocío come in. Isabel says El Pucho amd she are reconciling. They all set down to eat.

At the Carmona house, Hilda darkens the door once more. Facundo answers it. She is there because she was worried when she did not see Carmen or Beto at the university and wanted to make sure they were okay. María has joined Facundo at the door and tells her they are just fine. So Hilda repeats herself again and Facundo tells her Beto is at work which gets him a dirty look and poke from María for not being able to keep his mouth shut. Then Hilda has to tell them about Carmen not doing well at all in her classes. Facundo lets her in to hear more.

At the same time, Rocío has stopped by to talk to Beto at the company. She is really worried snout something: her "parents" are supposedly reconciled and are super happy. She is sure that they are up to something. She asks how things are going at the company. Beto tells her things are really bad. Rocío says that Santiago should be worried but he is not. If Beto sees anything weird going on with Santiago would he please let her know. That is the reason she came. Beto wants to know how things are between them. She says it is not the time to discuss that. He should just watch what her uncle is doing and she will do the same with her aunt. She gently pushes him away and leaves.

Carmen is on her bed. She ignores a call on her cell phone, hears a knock and starts crying as María and Facundo come in. They tell her that they have just come from her university because of what Hilda told them: At the university they found out that the semester is over and she did not pass any of her classes. She does not go to her classes. Facundo asks is it because she is planning on just being a so-called model? Facundo and María remind her how they have always worked hard to give their kids the best they could. How can she be so ungrateful? Carmen says in the country they did not have the money they have now. Now it is as if they won the lottery and putting forth an effort and working are useless. Everything happening to her isn't her fault. Facundo tells her again not to be ungrateful. She turns her back on her oarents and says she does not care and wants to be alone. Facindo syas fine if she wants to ne alone, alone she will ne. María tells jer, it may not be her fault but she is being punished anyway.

Part 5

Jacinto is outside with the redhead twins where the talk goes from bullying To taking care of the environment, to how the burro can read--but not aloud. He will not do their homework for them but will explain global warming to them. Even the animals are talking about it.

Rocío needs to talk to Isabel. She finds her drinking juice not alcohol. She wants to know if Isabel is behind the problems at Facundo's company. Isabel wants to know if anytime there is a problem, is it going to be her fault? Rocío asks why is Santiago so happy. She has never seen him like this. Isabel says because they are "almost" reconciled. Rocío can't let them hurt Beto's family. She asks Isabel not to get into problems because they will hurt her. She kisses Isabel and leaves.

In the last scene, María surprises Facundo with some chicharrón and salsa verde tacos. She is wondering why the receptionist girl was crying and why everyone looks like they are going to a funeral. Before Facundo can say too much a gentlemen excuses himself and comes in. He does not want to be ignorant but they just found out that the company is going broke/bankrupt again. María looks shocked and angry at the same time. Facundo tries to dismiss him and pass it off but more workers come in to join him. They just want to know if the rumor is true and what will happen with their salaries.

El fin

Jarifa

Gracias, Jarifa! Stellar job.

Well, everyone fell into Francis' trap. I am sure that Diego did not make that hotel reservation, just as he says. Now Fac and Maria think Carmen agreed to go to a hotel with Diego, and Carmen thinks that Diego made a hotel reservation expecting they would make love after dinner. Ugh!

Their ad looked great though. Considering all the Carmonas seem to swim, in bathing suits, not sure why they are scandalized by Carmen's relative conservative two piece and wouldn't even let Jacinto see the ad. She and Diego weren't even touching in the pic.

Here we were worried about Beto's class attendance, and it was Carmen skipping. What has she been doing with her time?

Did we miss something? Why is Rocio acting so distant from Beto?

What an episode . . . . again!

The whole Carmen thing was odd. Punishing a college age kid by grounding her in her room? Really? Carmen is one spoiled kid. Carmen's new found ugly attitude about the futility of work and effort is another reason she needs to be out of the house earning her own way if she is not holding up her end of the deal of getting acceptable grades. If not, she needs to find a job to help support herself be it by modeling, something else or a combination of both. As adults she and Beto should be on the road to paying their own expenses no matter how much money their parents have or don't have.

I am not liking Susana and her smirk at all these days. Sure didn't take "aunt" Stephanie much effort to sow discontent between the sisters.

Hilda had a totally different demeanor in this episode. Is it just an act to wheedle her way back in, just as she did with the Carmen info at the Carmona house door?

Rocío seemed to self confident. It was great seeing her handle the Santago/isabel issue and also Beto so calmly.

I really laughed at poor Santiago and his Isabel dream, Corina on the lookout for "Facundini" and María withe her "corpse like" fall. Lots of laughs in this one.

Jarifa

Vivi, I am sure hoping that Diego has learned his lesson about Francis after she set him up with the hotel reservation. If he is still talking to her, he needs to get his head examined.

The whole Rocío/Beto vibe was odd. All I can think of is that after the whole marriage fiasco and the hot/cold treatment by different members of the Carmona family, is that she has had a lot to think about. Maybe what Isabel said to her about following her own dreams is also a reason.

I also thought the photo of Rocío and Beto was cute.

Jarifa

Whoopsie: should have been "photo of Diego and Carmen"

Jarifa

Thank you Jarifa! I didn't even catch the line about "An old hen makes a good broth". I'm glad you did! That's funny!

Indeed "what an episode." I think I am going to EXPLODE if Diego continues to listen to Francis. Ugh! It was so disappointing to see her win...AGAIN. Will someone please outsmart her?

And now the truth is out. Will Maria be mad at them for keeping it from her?

Estefy seems to be back on the antagonist wagon. Drat. I'm more worried about Jacinto.

I can't wait until tonight!

Comment bomb:

I'm not sure about Rocio's outfit last night. Was it Vivi that mentioned bold colors? Rocio looks better in those. I don't like the white/pastel thing. Magenta and turquoise and scarlet would be better. (In my not very fashion savvy opinion.)

Yes. I mentioned that Rocio looks better in bright, bold colors. Hopefully, wardrobe will figure it out.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. They've done well with Isa. Despite her behavior, I love her wardrobe. OH, and I liked Maria's look last night, too.

I think Beto should get a new luke too.

Sara, sure would be nice to see Beto with a new "luke" and without the hat. Rocío's outfit with the cropoed white bustier and short red skirt botdered on costume for me. I wasn't crazy about the pink one either.

Jarifa

The look she's sporting now isn't far off from what she was sporting before. It was just all in black before, with the short skirts, cropped tops, and high heels. Now it's in pastels. :)

I think it's just the color scheme that bothers me :)

I would like Beto's luke to involve hair that looks groomed. He's a cutie, but he looks a little sloppy.

Super recap!

I really hope Diego will take the nuclear option on Francis now! I don't know exactly what that would be but we need a hard, heavy anvil on her now!!

Carmen stopped going to classes when her diary was exposed. I think a couple of episodes ago Diego tried to stop her from leaving by saying she was going to miss her exams. I think that's why she failed.

Was Beto not kicked out for the Hilde thing? I am unsure about that. I don't think i've seen him back at school since.

So who does Fac know that can help him save the business? I'm thinking Florencio has the moolah but there would be a lot of swallowing of pride and promises to be made on both sides. Can't see what Florencio would get out of it, other than helping Maria. Fac would get the money but place Florencio closer to Maria. Maybe a bad idea all around but I don't see another investor coming to help.

Not especially liking Susana's new attitude. She was really happy when Carmen got grounded.

Agreed, Carvivlie! I was really disappointed in Susana last night.

Ah Sara I think that's part of Beto's charm, his lack of care in his appearance. He looks like he wouldn't know what to do with hair gel.

Hahaha! I was thinking maybe if he just washed his hair? It must be because he's wearing the hat all the time.

Rambling comments:

So the mystery lady in Italy was Isa's mom.

Now it's time for Franklin to find Porfirio so we can find out who the Caribbean mystery lady was.

And Diego really won me over last night. He still wants Carmen and when she was so upset and all he did was hug her? My heart melted.

I really feel like they dropped the ball on the Feli character.

They didn't give the Feli actor much to work with. In a way, I guess they were trying to make him nice and naive like Carmen but once the character found out the truth about Francis, it's as if the writers didn't know what to do with the character anymore so he has become background.

But then again Carmen isn't really sweet. She is spunky. Feli is too nice for her. Diego's character seems to be better at handling all of the energy and fierceness coming from her.

Carvivlie- I also think that Diego is better able to relate to Carmen's character. He might not be as innocent and virginal as she is, but they are both a tad vain and shallow, while being good people. He's also able to call her on her b.s. and laugh about it, and get her to laugh about it. When Feli calls her on stuff, he just sounds like a scolding father. They have fun together. They've also just spent more time together, than she has with Feli. There's nothing wrong with Feli. I just don't think the writers have done anything to develop his relationship with Carmen, while they have given her and Diego plenty of ups and downs and growth together. Feli is still the guy we met on day 1, except he isn't dating Francis anymore.

That's a really good point, Carvivlie! Diego seems well equipped for dealing with Carmen.

Very well said, Vivi. I do so enjoy reading what the patio has to say about Diego and Carmen. :)

Carvivlie, although I really like Felipe after seeing Carmen and her attitude about work and effort being meaningless because of all the money, I thought she would be a nightmare for Felipe. Diego is much more like her as you, Sara and Vivi said.

Jarifa

Jarifa - I didn't like last night's episode at all, but your storytelling of all the stupidities is fab.

Way too much Carmen. I'm finding her very annoying right now, so I don't mind Susanna taunting her. At that age, I would've done the same.

Diego seems smart enough to get proof on who really booked the hotel room. I hope he does so. Glad Fac didn't clobber him. I guess I'm alone in still being on the fence. ITA Feli hasn't had the screen time, but I like his sincerity.

Maria's reaction didn't ring true. She wore a sexier bathing suit on the honeymoon, which I presume she owned before since there was no shopping. Way back at the shawl fashion show, Carmen along with the other models wore skimpier bathing suits than what Carmen is wearing in the ad. I blame the writers.

Yay, Maria found out they're near bankruptcy.

It was one of those days, but I am getting perkier thinking about starting the recap. It will be up per usual.

Jarifa

I sorry it was one of those days, but glad you have the Carmonas to cheer you up :-)

Capítulo #93 8/6/15

"Facundo Makes Yet Another Bad Decision"

Paet 1

Isabel decides to take Ale out after school for shopping and for some hairstyling so she can look good for Andrés and he won't pay attention to la menonita (the Mennonite)(Susana) (OT comment: made me think of "la menonita" on "The Bridge." I loved that show). Isabel and Ale chant " fashionista" and dance around.

Back in Facundo's office, Facundo is trying to brush off the workers saying he wants some time with his wife and he will talk to them later. María asks the workers what they have heard. They have heard that the company is broke and that they will not get paid at the end of the month. It will be the same as what happened to them with Santiago. They trust Facundo but have been through this before. Facundo says he will pay them as always. The workers tell Facundo that if they do not get paid they will not be working. They are warning him as a courtesty. Esteban helps clear the workers out of Facundo's office. María wants Facundo to tell her the truth.

Tía Humilde and Hilda (her niece) arrive at Florencio's apartment. Tía Humilde wants Florencio to let Hilda stay there since she is now studying at the University and knitting for María. El Panzón is not for the idea saying if you let her stay the rest of the town will be coming to stay too. Too bad for him because Florencio will gladly let her stay in the guest room. Hilda just gives her new found little shy smile.

Facundo explains the situation to María. He is in the.middle of a big mess because the investors pulled their money out of the project so no they will not be moving to the country this weekend. They could go for a picnic maybe but not to live. They could lose the house and he could end up on jail. She wants to know who else besides Beto and him know about this problem at home. His answer is "everybody."

At the beauty shop, Ale gets her hair restyled and then she and Isabel go shopping.

At work, Beto is talking to the workers in the hall when María goes running by. Facundo is right nehind her. Beto asks what happened. Facundo explains she found out they were not going back to live in the country. Facundo continues his pursuit.

Ale and Isabel are home and Ale is dressed in a new outfit. They are "fashionista-ing" one more time. The doorbell rings and it is Andrés. They go crazy. Isabel tells her to be confident because she is the best and prettiest of them all. Isabel goes to hide.

Facundo is back at the office. It turns out he could not catch up to María. He tells Beto that his mother María will not forgive him this time and he does not know what he is going to do.

Part 2

Andrés has arrived at the Velasco's. He tells her she looks nice. She says that Jacinto told her the same thing. He then asks why she asked him over. Isabel is trying to coach her from behind the bar at the back of the living room. She wanted him to watch a movie with her. He asks if it is an action movie with special effects. No she tells him it is a real romantic movie about adolescent love but the next one will be an action movie. They sit down and he tells her again that she looks good; very pretty. Isabel is the proud mother just beaming from her hiding place.

Night has come and the whole Carmona family is gathered in the living room. María has not come home. She is not answering her cell phone. Nobody knows where she is. The Amarripa brothers have not seen her. She is not in San Bartolo el Chico. She is not in the stable. Margarito does not know anything . Neither does the dog Murci. Boy genius Jacinto tells them that the probability is 99% that she is angry because they all lied to her about moving back to the country. Estefany thinks to herself that she hopes María has left forever because that would get her another step closer to that hottie Facundo. Granny Perpétua says that her mother's intuition is telling her that María is in danger. Facundo does not want to hear that. Facundo apologizes to everyone for having failed them and having put them in this situation. He just wants to know where his María is.

Andrés is long gone and now Ale, Felipe, and Rocío are sitting on the couch with Santiago asking them if they are sure that that is what they heard. Rocío heard it herself. Isabel comes in and immediately asks what's wrong. Santiago confronts her telling her that the kids have told him that she was the one who told the workers about the company being broke. The same workers who created a scene at the company and now María is missing. She says well, that was good for the uncertain state the workers were in. This was non of her concern. Sne also asks if it is her fault that María is missing, too. Isabel cannot understand how they can be so ungrateful. Can't they see that this is the best thing that could have happened to their family? They don't understand cher so she is off to something else. Santiago dismisses the kids but asks Isabel to stay so they can talk.

The Carmona's are still in the living room with granny praying to St. jude and Facundo trying to find María through Locatel without any luck. Beto tells his dad not to worry that María will be back.

Santiago is telling Isabel to please not tell him that she is doing ts to help them. He knows she is doing it only to separate Facundo and María. Isabel says he can't blame her for Facundo and María's marital problems. Santiago begs Isabel to tell him what she is planning. She brings up Facundo stealing his company from him. Well, she tells him, now is the time for him to attack and get his company back. She tells him they are going to be sitting down shortly and talking to Gustavo Infante about saving the company. It is a matter of justice. It is putting things in order. Santiago starts to smile.

Part 3

Back in the Carmona living room. Jacinto tells Granny to calm down because he is sure María his mother is fine. Estefany gets everyone's attention when she says even though María is her best friend like a sister to her: maybe María is with Florencio.

Santiago is now not too sure of the plan. Isabel says there is nothing wrong with what they are doing: they are only getting back which originally belonged to them. Santiago's cell phone is ringing but he refuses to answer. He says it is Licenciado Godinez. He calls 80 times and is a bore, nothing ever to say. Isabel goes into the kitchen to make them tea. It turns out it is really Mireya. If Isabel finds out she will beat him. Santiago throws the ringing phone down and runs in fear into the kitchen.

It is morning and Isabel awakens but the rooster has not crowed. She tries crowing herself. Could it be that that is because María has not returned? Isabel wonders. Corina asks the maid how her outfit looks. The maid says it looks cool if she is gong to the market. No, Corina is not going to the market she is going to meet the man who can change the course of her life. The maid wishes her luck. Comrina will have good luck because Isabel and she have the same taste in men and since Isabel has given up "Facundini" now it is her turn. She says it is her turn to enter the bull ring. Good luck matadora! Olé!

The Carmona's are all in the living room in the morning having not hardly slept at all when María comes in with Rocío. She was at the boutique. She needed time to think. María doesn't want breakfast. She wants to go rest. Facundo asks if he can accompany her. No, she wants to be alone. Of course, Granny will try to calm things down with María. The important thing is that Facundo saves the company because if he doesn't who knows what will happen.

Isabel and Santiago are meeting with Gustavo Infante. According to Gustavo, the investors want Santiago back as head of the company. The plan is that the investors back out saying that they don't like the building project when in reality they love it. They are telling Facundo that the materials are too expensive to recoup their cost in the price the houses are being sold for. Isabel has convinced him that a real estate project like this cannot be left in the hands of an ingnoramus like Facundo. They all want Santiago to come back. Santiago asks how will he get back the ownership of his company. Isabel says that Gustavo has a genius idea.

Beto is out in the yard when he is accosted by Corina who first introduces herself as Isabel's "sorella" sister but quickly admits to being Isabel's mother. Beto asks how she can be Isabel's sister if she is Rocío's mother and is supposed to be dead. She explains that because there are so few years separating their age she just calls herself Isabel's sister. She has her hands all over Beto not wanting him to go. Finally she puts her hand out for him to kiss but he smartly just pats it.

I missed Tuesday and Wednesdays episodes so I am a bit out of it. I likely should have read the previous recaps but I saw this and simply had to dive in. Cannot resist a Jarifa recap. No will power whatsoever. Thank you in advance to Sara and Jarifa for Tuesday and Wednesdays recaps, which I am sure will be stellar. The discussion about Carmen and Diego has me intrigued.

Jarifa, wonderful as always. You have a wonderful way of relating the events just as they occurred but add freshness and vitality. Just the image that "If Isabel finds out she will beat him. Santiago throws the ringing phone down and runs in fear into the kitchen" evokes had me chuckling.

I had thought Isa might be changing..."Well, she tells him, now is the time for him to attack and get his company back...It is a matter of justice. It is putting things in order. Santiago starts to smile". Is she on Santi's side? I think she is on her own side and whoever has her own best interests at heart is the team she roots for. Temporarily.

Santi continues to delight: "Finally she puts her hand out for him to kiss but he smartly just pats it".

I think Andres is a very polite boy and I am sure he meant every flattering word he said to Ale. Yet, I'm not sure if there is any overt meaning. Isa should not be encouraging her daughter down this course. Just another thing to be miffed at her for.

Corina is quite the character isn't she? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Will comment more when I read the other recaps and see what I've missed. Obviously another whopper from Facundo about moving. Sigh.

Part 4

Gustavo explains his plan. All Santiago has to do is buy Facundo's shares. The price will be ridiculously low. Santiago does not have that kind of money. Gustavo tells him he will lend the money to him. When he is back in charge, he and the other investors will back the project. No worries, gustavo and Isabel are great friends. Isabel will always be Santiago's Puchis for her beauty and intelligence. Samtiago, amd Gustavo toast to business and friendship (not necessarily in that order)

Granny brings María some food to her room. María does not want any. Granny explains that they all lied because they did not want to dissapoint her. They wanted her to be happy. María feels like the fool of fools. María protests by saying she is not a child. Granny also asks María to forgive them all and Facundo.(she was going to keep her nose out of Maria's marriage, right?)

Santiago is at Facundo's office making his offer to buy out Facundo. Both Felipe and Esteban are wondering where he got all that money from. It is none of their business. He does what he does. Facundo cannot believe the quantity of money he is being offered when he invested so much in the company. Santiago tells him take it or leave it. Talk it over but don't take too much time because the offer won"t be on the table much longer. Santiago leaves unhappily with Felipe in tow. Beto asks Esteban if he knows of Santiago has any plans. He does not. Beto tells his dad not to give the company as a gift to that guy (Santiago) Facundo cannot see another way out so he can get María out of the city. So, Beto says, he is going to lose all of their money.

In the Velasco living room, Rocío is asking Santiago if that was the plan from the beginning: to take the company away from Facundo. Santiago insists it was his company first. Felipe asks whether it was his or Isabel's. Santiago skips over that questions and talks about being an empresario, a businessman . Rocío tells him that they forgave Santiago once for cheating Beto' s father. If he does it again that will be the end of their relationship with him. He asks them to put themselves in his situation. He is reconcililng with the love of his life, his Puchis. Santiago is in a fix

Facundo with straw in his hair has the family all together in the living room so he can make another announcement about another decision. He is selling part of the company to Santiago. Beto cannot believe it. It could all be a Santiago -Isabel scheme. That sale of shares along with the sale of the house, Facundo's SUV and Carmen's car will give them enough money to move back to San Bartolo el Chico. Granpappy is happy saying they never should have left. He cannot wait to be back on the plaza with all of the pretty girls. Facundo apologizes on his knees to María who tells him she won't believe it until she sees it. Conchita says she is going to be without work. Facundo asks Porfirio's opinion. He says he is taking Concha with him back to San Bartolo el Chico. No worries.

Part 5

Isabel and Santiago have the whole family at the dinner table and are ready to toast and celebrate because Facundo has accepted Santiago's offer and the company will be theirs again tomorrow. "Super Santi" did it. Ale, Felipe and Rocío are not happy. Felipe informs Santiago he will not be working at the company after tomorrow. Corina is toasting away: Long live the family! Long live "la cosa nostra" (our thing--phrase made popular with organized crime ). Santiago doesn't want to be the bad guy like in the movies. Ale is worried Susana and her family are going to be poor. Rocío asks one too many dquestions and Santiago tells her to leave Isabel in peace. Rocío, Ale and Felipe leave the celebration. Isabel says just to leave them alone.

María is wondering why Beto thought that Isabel was involved in the problems at the company. Beto tells her that Rocío said Isabel told ghr workers. Interesting now the next day the investors started pulling out their money. Then suddenly Santiago has money to buy the company. María says that that botoxed woman is capable of anything. Beto says he knows what his dad is doing is crazy but he will do whatever he has to give María what she wants.

Out at the animal pens Estefany pleads with Facundo to just tell her what is going on. She is very upset. She is so sad they are going. He says they are just going. She begs him not to go. She will do whatever he wants. At that point she loses her balance and pushes Facundo down. She lands right on top of him.

Granny Perpétua brings Granpappy Porfirio some hardboiled eggs. He wants to talk to her about something from their past. It has been so many years since they have talked about what happened to her husband and what happened with his wife. Granny does not want to talk about it. Granpappy says that sooner or later the tuth is going to come out. She says the past is the past. He tells her not to be a fool. It is time for their people (family) to know the truth. She gets very nervous and says she has better things to do. Granpappy is left thinking he doesn't know what will happen to the family but that sooner or later the secret will be found out.

Jarifa

Another fun one! Sure put me in a better mood.

Sara, is that Florencio saying "yo" in the avances? If it is, you guessed right.

Jarifa

Haven't watched the last couple of eps or so, but don't have to with Sara's and Jarifa's wonderfully detailed recaps.

I jumped the gun Jarifa. Parts 4 and 5 were equally stellar.

"Granny also asks María to forgive them all and Facundo.(she was going to keep her nose out of Maria's marriage, right?)". Perpetua irks me! Rather than worry about finding out other's business, she should have concentrated on trying to keep te lid on her secrets. Now that it appears her world will be rattled a bit, it will be interesting to see how she handles matters especially if it threatens the family as Porfirio hinted.

Diana

Another slam dunk, Jarifa! I felt like this was another full episode and as usual you handled it in magnificent style. Thanks for all the recaps you've been giving the patio.

I know I'm hoping the new investor is Florencio! That would be awesome!

I hope they give is more information about Porfirio and Perpetua's past tonight what a cliffhanger!

I have to say, they are doing a better job with avances in this show. Great teasers without giving away too much.

I'll be in and out today. Kitty is still not himself, but he ate a bit today and talked to my husband like he usually does. But then he went and hid behind a chair (not normal behavior.) *sigh*

Jarifa- This was such a stellar recap! Thank you.

Doesn't it seem that Isa is manipulating EVERYONE behind the scenes-- the investors, Santi, the kids, her mom. It all feels like part of some bigger plan she has, this new attitude and this effort to get the business back.

She and Ale were cute shopping, and I did like the new outfits. But I did not like the messaging-- You are the prettiest in your whole class; you are better than Susana. If Isa had her way, Ale would turn into a mini Francis.

Could Perpetua's husband and Porf's wife have run away together, or had an affair, or had a love child together?

I sure hope the new investor is Flor, but wonder how Fac would react to that.

Sending good vibes to kitty, Sara.

Did we know before that Hilda is Humilde's niece? And does that also make her related to Maria and her kids?

I suppose that Hilda isn't technically a niece, but a cousin, just as Perpetua and Humilde are really cousins. But generational respect means Maria and her children call her aunt.

Glad everyone enjoyed the recap. Thank you for your kind comments!

Good to see you and your little pink piggy, Nanette.

Diana, Perpétua irks me, too. No matter what she says she is still taking Facundo's part.

Sara, so sorry to hear about your kitty. I hope he is back to normal soon. It is always so worrisome when pets are sick. I had not noticed that about the avances, but you are right. I hope it is Florencio, too. If it is what is Facundo going to say: that he doesn't want to save his investment? I think not. As far as the recaps go, I have been sort of feeling like a "regular" recapper these days. (As compared to intermittent/transient/ itinerant?) Too funny.

Vivi, I get the feeling that everyone is related some how (like a cousin of a cousin of a cousin four times removed LOL) in San Bartolo el Chico. As for Porfirio's and Perpétuas respective spouses, my guess is that they ran off together. Your idea of a love child would be the cherry on top!

Jarifa

Jarifa- LOL! So true. They are likely all cousins in SBelC.

I love that you feel like a regular recapper, Jarifa!

Oooo, Vivi... I almost hope there is really a love child. I got the impression that the two spouses did run off together.

I forgot to say that I like Rocío's pants and fringed top last night.

What a great recap !!! I don't know how you get all the details, Jarifa, but you surely do, and with style!

Sara, I loved Rocio's clothes last night too ... that nice wine color. Glad we're not going to get a steady diet of cutesy skirts and pink. She looked great. Now if Carmen could stop with the little-girl outfits. I mean come on, she wants to be a model? Then dress the part.

Can't wait for tonight. I too think "yo" will be Florencio .. a very interesting twist. I like the idea of a love child too !! Someone we know already? although I can't think of who it would be.

Lola

Right there with you, Lola! I would like to see Carmen with a slightly different luke too!

But she did get a different look (loose hair and skinny jeans), and then it went away.

Jarifa, I always got the feeling Perpetua was interested in Profirio. Am I totally out of my mind? Perhaps it is the "bond" due to their spouses that they share.

Vivi, yes, a "love child" would be wonderful and wild, wouldn't it? :) Did I already tell you how much I love your avatar? You are stunning.

Sara, hope your kitty gets well!! Hugs. I agree with you and Lola that Rocio with her lighter hair and touches of color in her wardrobe are extremely becoming. Lola your "Glad we're not going to get a steady diet of cutesy skirts and pink" was spot on.

Speaking of avatars, I am totally salivating at your carrot cake Sara. Dreaming of the Cheesecake Factory, where the carrot cake is loaded with chunks of fresh carrots. Of course, the cream cheese frosting doesn't hurt! ;)

Well, somehow the salad I planned for lunch doesn't seem quite as exciting, but I will make do!

Diana

Aww! Thanks, Diana. Felt like going back to being me in my avatar. :)

Jarifa – Great title. It has a “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” vibe. Whaddya mean you “feel” like a regular recapper? You most certainly “are” a regular recapper, to our delight.

Sara – Hoping Kitty is feeling better today.

Not trusting Isa or Gustavo. I wouldn’t be surprised if she pulled the rug out from under Santi or if he pulled the rug out from under both Santi and Isa. Santi led the company to ruin before, so why would Gustavo be gungho to back him?

Poor Ale getting bad advice from Isa. If Andres was the type that wanted to sit quietly and watch a romantic movie, he wouldn’t be gaga over Susanna. Ale, he’s just not that into you and that’s okay.

Fac and Maria’s mom and dad might’ve run off together? And maybe had a love child? Wow! I would love to see Perpetua stewing in a scandal of her own rather than relentlessly promoting Fac to Maria. Nowadays I cringe when she's alone with Maria, cause I know what's coming.

My favorite scene was Beto meeting Corina. Total clash of culture and understanding. Do we even know why Corina made this sudden visit to Mexico? My guess is it isn't just a simple desire to see her daughter and grandkids.

Vivi - Fabulous new photo!

Lola, I so agree that it would be nice if Carmen were dressed more apporpriately for her age and a model if that is what she aspires to be. It would also add it would be nice if her parents treated her like as an adult and not like a 12 year old.

Diana, I, too, have always felt that Granny Perpétua could be interested in Granpappy Porfirio. They act like an old married couple some times. I was always hoping that was not the case because Porfirio is so much more a free spirit. She is just deadening. Now that we know of this connection it does explain what their link may be besides just having lived in the same household for so many years with them not being a couple.

I was happy that Granpappy wants to take Conchita to the country with them.

The funniest part for me last night were Santiago and Gustavo toasting: Santiago to friendship and Gustavo to business. Gustavo putting business first really bothered Santiago.

Carrot cake! That would make a nice snack.

Jarifa

Reading all the comments on my email app and I had to come over and see Vivi's avatar. It is nice to see your smile again!

Thanks Niecie and Sara. Sara, you know how much I loved your smiling self avatar. Maybe one day you'll show it to us again.

Corina definitely seemed to be plotting something back when we heard her thought-bubble in Italy. Considering she's Isa's mama, it would not be shocking if she had ulterior motives.

Niecie, "My favorite scene was Beto meeting Corina. Total clash of culture and understanding" was great. And yes, it was a good scene - Beto looked rather taken aback (as I would be).

Corina leaves me cold. Seems fake to the core. Snap judgment? I do tend to do that but like Niecie, I don't think her visit is selfless - she has something up her sleeve. Likely being self centered runs in the fam.

Diana

You know Vivi, I was thinking that I should "show my face" when Muchacha italiana starts just so anyone new can "see" me.

When it comes to Corina and Isa we are definitely in tal palo tal astilla territory.

Now if Corina is Isa's mother then she is Rocio's grandmother and also mother of the mystery sister. I wonder why Rocio is not all over Corina asking her about her own mother, Isa's sister. Am I missing something? Diana agree, Corina seems very shallow.

Confused Lola

IMO that's a slip on the part of the writing. Has Corina even said anything about the child she lost? Because like you Lola, I would think there would have some scene with Rocio like "Oh you look like your mother. Ay! Mi hijaaa!"

Well, it's not the first time Rocio is meeting Nona. Rocio hasn't really expressed any curiosity about her mother, just why Isa treats her (Rocio) so badly. I don't think she's aware that there is any sort of mystery around her mother.
