Lo Imperdonable #71 Tue 8/25/15 Ha,ha you got shot
Note: Recap might be out of order just to allow me to get through the process faster.
Charming info out of the assistant:
So Aaron continues his plan to get information on Veronica from Jorge's assistant, and it works! From her he learns that Veronica was adopted by the Prado-Castellos, that everyone knows she's adopted and that her parents were not hot stuff, her father was an awful drunk and her mother abandoned her to run off with her lover.
Again, how do people know so much about Veronica's past when no one ever talked to Magadalena or Aaron? And even if Jorge was aware of Veronica's parents past I doubt he would have shared this information with people outside of the family. Whatever, I'll roll with it. Aaron also learns that Vero is a good egg.
Salma goes on a trip:
Salma is off to Cancun- she and Jorge argue-again, she keeps talking smack about Vero and tells Jorge she's happy Emiliano is getting married to a good girl who will love and value him, then she blames Veronica for Emiliano's drinking problem. Jorge sets her straight and tells her Emiliano's drinking problem was not Veronica's fault, before the argument gets worse Salma tells Jorge to use the time she's away to reflect on their problems. Did I mention that Jorge sent Nicolas with Salma? That can't be good.
Speaking of Cancun Emiliano and Ginny are off having a good time and who do they happen to run into? Claudia and Pierre. Ginny shows off her ring and this leads to Claudia talking about how much she looks forward to getting engaged, picking out a wedding dress, planning the wedding, Pierre looks less than pleased, is it because deep down he knows that Claudia is a gold-digger? Emiliano makes a joke at Claudia's expense and tells Pierre that if he's scared of marriage there's a cruise ship that can take him back to France *snort*
Once Emi and Pierre go off to talk about the competition Ginny and Claudia stay behind and Ginny gets the truth out of Claudia- she does not love Pierre, the love of her life is and will always be Martin, but if she can't have him she'll settle for Pierre who loves her and treats her right. Run Pierre, RUN!
Now the part of the novela that I hated to have to watch, I had to drink two beers to get through this you guys! The struggle is real!
So Pablo is still trying to sort things out with AP and her crazy family, he says he will have AP talk to Mariana so she can get clarification on what REALLY happened, clearly I've given Pablo too much credit because the boy is dumb. Seriously Pablo, you expect your spurned ex-lover to help you?! The ex-lover that is *this* close to becoming a bunny boiler? Seriously?! Dude, come on. Anyway, Mariana bursts through the door and tells everyone that AP is a slut who had an affair with her boyfriend.
Mariana makes things worse by telling the family that she caught Pablo and AP in a compromising position, the violence escalates and Mariana finally manages to get Pablo to leave. Sadly, this is not where things end, on their way back into town Manuel finds them and he has a gun. He shoots Pablo in the hand! A struggle takes place and Manuel gets shot in the belly, he faints as he starts to lose a lot of blood. Mariana takes Pablo away telling him that he has to get away from the crime scene before he gets sent to jail and that he needs medical treatment.
Can I add that I don't feel sorry for these people? If Pablo had been direct with Mariana she never would have thought that the wedding was still on, and if Marty and Co had pressed charges against Manuel he would have been stopped long ago. Eli's sympathy level is at zero.
AP sees everything go down and hugs her good for nothing brother, the same brother that TOLD her he hated her and wished she would die, the brother who verbally and physically abused her and asks him not to die. Guys, forgive me but I can not take more of AP's crying and whinny voice, I just can't, it's awful and it makes me wanna stab a baby seal. Something else that bothers me is the fact that the writers (and not just in this novela) seem to think that in order for someone to be a good person they have to forgive those that hurt them, and I just can't get into that.
AP loves her brother, sure, but does she have to forgive him all the awful things he's done? From my point of view you can be a good person and be able to say to someone that's hurt you "you know what? No, I don't forgive you"- because why should you forgive someone who treats you like gum stuck at the bottom of their shoe? In this case I think AP would be more than justified if she did not forgive her awful brother.
Instead we get to see her cry over him and I'm so over this whole mess. Die Manuel, die and maybe take AP with you.
FF scene with Dorita and Polo, she finally gets to go to school, yay! Ooooh hey, here's another thing that bothers me, why do writers find the need to have kids as young as five/seven develop crushes? Can't we just let kids eat dirt and play?
Botel to the rescue!
Julio has fetched Botel and asked him to come help Manuel who has been shot by Pablo, Botel takes off and gets to work. He arrives to find AP still crying over Manuel and saying over and over that he's dead and ok I feel another rant coming on:
Dude, when someone gets shot you know what you do? You call for help! You don't sit there like a dummy crying when someone might very well be bleeding to death, also, and I know this is a small town but don't these people know about a little thing called "checking the victims pulse" cause if they have one they are not DEAD.
Manny is lucky that Botel is a good guy who is willing to forget that Manuel treated his wife with total disrespect (and so did the OG) and renders help anyway. He tells them that Manny is not dead, but he will die if they don't get him to a hospital soon, his only shot is to be transported via helicopter to the nearest medical facility, OG tells Botel to do whatever it takes to save his boy, no matter the cost. Botel takes off and arrangements are made for Manny to be taken to the hospital (booo hisss)
By the way, through this all the one level headed person has been Joaquin, Raymunda's husband who I'm starting to think deserves better than this crazy family, take your kids and run sir!
Mommy!
Mag is desperate to get a DNA sample from Veronica, so she puts her plan into place. She offers to do a new hair do for Vero (the plan is to get some hairs with the roots attached and send them off for analysis). Vero sits in front of her and then Magda pulls her hair with the brush super hard, Matilde witnesses this and accuses Magda of doing it on purpose. Magda says she would never hurt her daughter (oops) and Matilde says something odd is going on with Magada and she wants the truth.
Magda cracks like an egg and tearfully tells Veronica that Matilde is right, she did pull her hair because she needs to be able to prove that Veronica is her long lost daughter. Veronica is like "WTH lady?" and then the tears come full force. Magda tries to explain to Veronica that she did not abandon her but Vero is not having any of it and tells Magada that she hates her, Magda tries again and again to explain things to Veronica but fails, she finally leaves. Veronica crumbles into the ground and cries. By the way, when someone is upset and tells you to get the hell out, you get the hell out. Don't try to explain yourself, don't try to hug them, don't even touch them, just leave.
Oooh also we know now that Vero remembers her dad beating her, so maybe Aaron's plan is doomed.
Magda bumps into Marty and tells him what's happened, she needs his help to talk to Vero but he gets on his high-horse and tells her that his loyalty is to his wife.
He comes home and comforts Vero who is still crying. Later he finds out what happened with Manuel and tells Vero and Matilde that the town bully got shot.
In other news Pablo's injury is really bad, the bullet destroyed some tendons and he will never paint again!
End of recap.
I'm sorry I can't give you a more detailed account of Vero and Magdalena's scenes but I have a very busy morning!
Labels: imperdonable
Glad Manuel was shot. He definitely deserved it. Let's see if he survives. If he does hopefully he'll be out of circulation for a while.
Pablo not being able to paint anymore? We've seen his paintings. No loss there.
Julio tells OG that Pablo shot Manuel. But fails to explain that 1. Manuel brought the gun 2. Manuel shot Pablo in the hand first and 3. Manuel was shot in a struggle with Pablo when Pablo tried to disarm him. Not liking Julio at all right now.
AP crying over Manuel. UGH!
You got all of the Vero & Magda scene. That was basically it. They kept on shouting the same things back and forth. Hopefully, Vero will listen to what Magda has to say.
It was pretty funny how Magda tried to get the hair sample. I wonder if she got the sample she wanted or not. Hopefully, she did.
I loved Emi's joke about Pierre heading back to France.
Salma is insufferable. What does Nico see in her?
Wow! What a mess last night. Un-gentleman Pablo didn't listen to un-gentleman gringo
a couple of nights ago, but if he had listened and had thrown Mariana into the cold river, her clouded brain would have been cleared up and the whole big mess that we saw last night never would have happened. Now we have Pablo shot, Manny seriously shot Ana Perla mad as hell and, well who knows what is going to happen to Pablo now?
And just to make things worse, the gringo has been moved over to the farthest, darkest, loneliest corner of the patio, just one step away from banishment for even thinking such a thought as giving "lady Mariana" swimming lessons in the nearby cold river.
By the way, have you guys noticed all the action the hotel has been getting lately?
I mean "lady Mariana" yelling and creating a scene in the hotel's dining area where
people were eating, Pablo and Manny fighting in Pablo's room and Veronica and her mother having an award winning shouting match last night? Oh my, I wonder what the hotel's vacation guests must be thinking of their nice vacation in Puebla Nuevo. Get
me a boat back to the city, these people here are muy loco.
the gringo
Ask a question or two---Who's gun was it? Who brought the gun? Who got shot first? Was there a struggle for gun which caused a second shot to be fired? All of these potential questions went by the wayside and were never asked. Questions should have been asked right after the "lady Mariana" encounter but then again, if that had happened, we wouldn't have the drama that we now have.
The gringo says that it's time for a roll of the snails.
The scene that I disliked the least last night was at the very end when we saw Pablo resting in the hospital room with his hand all bandaged up and "lady Mariana"
fussing over him. UUUGGGHHH!!!
Why doesn't Pablo ask her to leave??? Didn't she cause enough harm already?
the gringo
gringo, you are right. There has been a lot of action at that hotel. When the cat's away (Pierre) the mice will play. Romeo isn't doing a good job of being left in charge of the hotel.
Even if Pablo asked Mariana to leave I doubt she'd listen.
Great recap, Eli! Don't worry about needing more of Vero and Magda--what you had made my stomach churn.
How about if Manuel dies on the way to the hospital? It would solve lots of problems for the local citizens.
Pablo never painting again? If he has the passion for it, he can be like some who paint despite severe disabilities. As Mauricio noted, no great loss if Pablo doesn't produce any more work. He's not as bad as some other painters we've seen in TNs, but he's no Van Gogh.
Now, AP is a bit of a whinny winny. Everyone
That was there should tell the truth, if they
Would. I don't believe pablos hand is damaged to no more use. I do not trust mari.
Remember shes a scorned woman. She'd say anything to get him away from AP. Take his hope away and he'll feel bad enough to give up. Remember shes ginnys friend, don't
Trust her.
And everybody's talking about manny being shot, what about him shooting Pablo. wouldn't It be interesting if they both end up in the same hospital room. he shot Pablo first and I'm wondering if anybody that was there is willing to testify for that fact, he was trying to defend himself. Comas are s good thing to write into a scene when you don't like a character. unfortunately I am no writer so its up to the writers of this show. but we'll see what happens tonight.
Maybe after vero has calmed down a bit she'll want to talk to her mother like Matilda wanted her too. Anyway we'll see what happens.
I especially liked this:
"...when someone is upset and tells you to get the hell out, you get the hell out."
Words to live by... literally.
Maybe now Manuel will see the light... would it be too much to hope for that it's that bright white light at the end of that long dark tunnel?
I kinda like Salma. She's gorgeous and rather innocuous. Remember that sweet sensuous scene that she shared with Jorge at the very beginning of the first episode? I think that we need to see more of her and learn more about her.
Carlos
He's no Van Gogh.
Good one. It's true he's no Van Gogh. He's not even a Picasso.
Nina,
wouldn't It be interesting if they both end up in the same hospital room.
That would be interesting. It might happen since in novelas they only one hospital.
Magda kept saying "let me explain"....sheesh just say what you are gonna say no preamble... I hate when they do that in novelas but they do need to prolong the agony as much as possible because that is what we signed up for!
So Glad Manuel is out of the game at least for a short time. I might call an ambulance for him but I certainly would not be wailing over his body prostrate with grief.
Is this Manuel getting shot thing what's in the opening credits when it's dark and raining? I'm still surprised at how many of those scenes spoil certain "cliffhangers" since we all know what's coming (like Magda's hija supposedly being dead...).
Totally random question not really related to this episode, but why were some of the scenes filmed in front of a green screen when most of the others were filmed in the actual location, like by the river or in front of the school? (I've been binge watching all the episodes over the past week). It's so distracting! Did they need to do re-shoots or something??
- J
Does it make me a bad person if I was hoping Manuel's wound was fatal? Okay.
Loved a number of your lines, including
"The ex-lover that is *this* close to being a bunny boiler (I'll never forget that film!) and
"Magda cracks like an egg."
And smiled at your rant about the telenovela dictum for little people crushes. However, I had my first fiance at 5 (Jack West) and my really really serious prometido at 6 (Rodney Blum). Alas, we kept moving every year. And for several years after that, no great amor de mi vidas. I kept wondering what was wrong? Where's my Prince Charming in this new place?
Soooo....for some of us,romance arrives early. And then...oh no!.....
And yes, Salma appeared to be a great wife and enthusiastic lover at the beginning, as my friend Carlos so clearly remembers. Now she didn't even kiss Jorge good-bye. I foresee an interesting couple of days for our Nicolas.
And for Pierre. Clearly there something murky in our Frenchie's background. (Isn't there always?)
Hanna
I was quietly sipping a well-deserved martini, catching up with the comments and then this:
"Clearly there something murky in our Frenchie's background. (Isn't there always?)"
Have you ever choked on an olive?
Hanna,
"The whole Cresencio clan are a bore."
I'm getting a kick out of Grandpa Goat. He's like a jack-in-the-box. One minute he's quietly dying and the next, he's hopping up and ranting like a madman. He's amazing.
Carlos
I am in total agreement with all of your feelings! As I said yesterday, this is the part of the TN that I HATE. If I weren't trying to brush up on my Spanish I'd just read you guys' recaps until ulitmas semanas!
How annoying was it that AP SAW everything and still yelled at Pablo?! Que? Am I crazy or didn't I see her in the grass yelling to them, seeing Manuel (his name is SO close to Manure-- is that too offensive? If I call him Manurel?) about to shoot? Why is she so ticked off? I. Don't. Get. These. Writers.
Agree that everyone needs to calm down and listen, but wouldn't it be awesome if that started with Cray Cray Marty sitting with Vero and telling her everything instead of feeding her more lies?
No patience or interest in the scenes in Cancun. FF
That's enough out of me!
Thanks to all!
Rebecca
And now he wants ana p to marry his godson. Is he that new fat guy is the mines?
I have also been wondering the same thing about why some scenes are filmed with a green screen while others are not. The scenes filmed with a green screen a very distracting and if you ask me they are poorly done as well, IMO. The actors and actresses look as if they were Photoshopped in the scene. I prefer the on location scenes.
Rebecca,
I also thought that AP had seen them. But since she didn't know what happened when she arrived at the scene I assumed that wasn't close by to have seen it all happen. She did hear the gunshot and that's why she called out Manuel's name.
Last nights episode made me double mad. First at Mati, for seeing more in the hair pulling and making such a big deal about it that Magdalena didn't get a chance to calmly tell Vero her story. I have a 12 year old with long hair, I sometimes pull it when I brush it because she has knots. She screams, life goes on. Vero didn't even make as much noise as my daughter does so Mati's reaction was over the top for me. Maybe there is a bit of jealousy over Vero's bond with Maggie. And usually I really like Mati.
The second thing that made me angry was everyone ganging up on poor Pablo and not allowing him to speak. If you love someone, you need to hear them out before believing others, especially strangers. I think he showed he was serious, with the formal proposal and bringing his mom in as well. He deserved a chance to speak to AP and be listened to. And Julio, I was liking him from day one. I felt so disappointed in him not explaining how it really went down. Poor Pablo, even though his paintings are not all that, we know that is his passion and I hope he doesn't lose it. Hey if the Museum in New York was going to give him a chance, maybe so should we.😉
Maricruz
I felt sorry for Pablo today. Julio not explaining the full story doesn't help.
I agree the green screen look fake. I don't like it.
Though we may be cheering that Manuel got shot, I can still understand why AP would be crying over his dying body. If she stood aside and was like "oh well" or happy, I would be surprised. It would be completely unlike her. She definitely did not see the struggle for the gun between Pablo and Manuel and doesn't know that Pablo was shot.
Maricruz, good points.
Though there was too much back and forth with no clear explanations as most have mentioned—the show was pretty exciting.
