Lo Imperdonable #58 Thu 8/6/15 She's alive! She's alive! But she's not too bright, is she?

In Mexico City

Old lovers - hard not to shake with disgust
Malena and Botel find a creepy doll in the coffin. Does that mean that her daughter is alive ? Estas viva, Veronica ?
Back at the hotel, everyone congratulates Malena for how well she’s taking the news. Botel is the one who looks rather shaken up, so Malena herself suggests he should go for a walk, relax. Botel and the PI leave, after deciding that they would resume the search and this time they will force the truth out of Clemente and will involve the authorities, too.
Left alone, Malena, who is everything but calm, wonders if Aaron knows where little Veronica might be. Just then, he calls her, asking her to join him. She refuses, demands a proof that their daughter is alive.

He willingly accepts, arriving at the hotel with a yellow envelope, containing pictures of a pre-teen Veronica (I would assume).
Malena frantically asks him where the girl is, but he refuses to tell her until she dumps Botel and gets back together with him. He forces her to sit on his lap, which is all kinds of disgusting, but Malena stays strong for now, refusing to leave Botel. He threatens, she begs, he likes the begging, she cries.
He becomes aggressive, which only reminds Malena the kind of life that they had together before. He blabs some nonsense about having changed and promises her all rainbows and roses from now on, but Malena is too terrified and disgusted by his simple presence to give any credit to his BS. When sweet talking doesn’t work, Aaron threatens to kill Botel if she doesn’t dump him.

Then he goes away, leaving behind a photo of little Veronica, to "help" her make a decision and a red carnation (which, by the way, is the symbol of death in my home country, so… creepy).
Alone, Malena thanks God that her daughter is still alive and apologizes to her for the crappy father and awful childhood that she provided.
She also swears that once they are reunited, she will make up for all the tears and nobody will ever be able to separate them. If only Botel had been the father – he is such a good man....  she needs to protect him from Aaron’s madness.
I guess we all know where this is headed...

When Botel comes back, she picks up a fight with him and throws him out of the room. Then she starts sobbing on her bed.

New lovers - hard not to roll your eyes at some men's gullible nature
Emiliano and Virginia are all lovey dovey, but he insists that he can’t go on a trip with her, he has too much work to do. Enter the Prado Castellos, who encourage the young couple to have some fun. Jorge says that Emi has advanced his work a lot, so he deserves a break. And they will join in later on. Emi concedes.

Remembering that technology really does exist, Veronica picks up the phone and calls Emi, to warn him about Virginia – she is a hypocrite, that has made her life a living Hell. Emi gets all hot and bothered, how dare Veronica interfere in his life, when she repeatedly asked him to stay out of hers? he kind of has a point). He goes as far as to say that he will marry Virginia, and there is nothing that Vero can do about it – she has her own life, she better stay out of his. Veronica is impactada, she cares about him as a brother... Emi won’t hear any of it.

After he hangs up, he goes straight to the bottle, but Virginia stops him before he is able to take a sip. He tells her about the phone talk with Veronica and Virginia is overjoyed for a moment, taking Emi’s lie about their future marriage as an actual proposal. Emi quickly explains that is not the case, that he practically did it to infuriate Veronica, but he has no intention of getting married now. Virginia starts to weep, he wants to comfort her, suggesting to take things one step at a time and see how it goes. He told her about the phone talk because he wanted to be honest, he doesn’t want to hurt her. She appreciates his sincerity, at least that tells her that he truly wants to keep Vero away. And Veronica can keep on thinking that they are getting married.

Emi is upset that Vero would look for him now, when he is finally more calm and goes for the drink again, but Virginia stops him. As Jorge looks on, Emi thanks her for taking such good care of him. She suggest they go shooting practice together the next day, this will keep Emi's mind busy. Then they see Jorge, who has come with tickets for Cancun and a reservation for two rooms at a hotel. Two rooms? What would be the point of that, Jorge? Virginia is all smiles, but when nobody is looking, she’s peeeeeved!

Pueblo
Manuel seeks refuge at church. He is starving, so he promises the padrecito he will do anything for food, even clean!!! He does just that later on, not without a lot of complaining.

Very young and foolish lovers - hard not to yawn
Pablo is late for dinner and Crescencio is furious because the young boy has no consideration for him or his time. But what else could one expect from an outsider? Ana Perla is crying a river, Blanquita thinks that maybe now that he got what he wanted, Pablo could be out of the picture. Or maybe something bad happened to him.

What is worse, being tricked or Pablo being in danger? Ana Perla prays that he is OK, even if that means that she will never see him again. Careful what you wish for, little girl.
Blanquita goes outside to check and comes back with the news that Pablo sent word that he can’t make it because something came up in town. Crescencio is even more disgruntled and Ana Perla is inconsolable – could Pablo do this to her? Blanquita thinks that he just might, after all isn’t this what all guys want?
Julio overhears the girls’ talk and realizes what went down between Pablo and Ana Perla.

Young, co-dependent lovers - hard to keep it together in front of Martin's good looks, huh?
Martin invites Matti and Vero out to dinner on the terrace. Vero is loving the idea, which prompts Matti to pray at the Virgencita for her kids’ happiness – Vero and Marty’s reunion and Emi’s freedom from Virginia.
After Veronica talks with Emi about his supposed marriage to Virginia, she tells Matti that she thinks he made the whole thing up to push her away. When Martin shows up to take them to dinner, Matti pretends to be tired, so the lovebirds can have the night for themselves.
Martin has arranged for the terrace to be vacated, so they are all alone, and both feeling very romantic. Veronica watches the stars –
"Que bonito!" She murmurs;
Martin watches Veronica –
"Que bonito!" He murmurs, too
The Patio watches Ivan Sanchez –
"Dios mios, que bonito!* (Seriously, could this guy be any more dreamy?)

They talk about wishes fulfilling themselves, they toast with water (Martin is very well informed that she can’t drink wine, yet).
Food arrives and he promises her that he will tell her all about his life, his childhood, as if they just started dating. Pierre shows up with an envelope for Martin, but quickly evaporates himself.
Martin has a gift for Vero, but he doesn’t give it to her until after they eat – the envelope contains a certificate of sorts, Martin paid for a star to be named after her. She is very impressed, she knows that Martin is not the kind of guy that would normally do something like this.
He says that if they are ever apart, just by looking at the star they will feel closer to one another – anvil alert, but then again, who really thinks this make-up will last more than a few episodes?
Then he goes in for the kiss, which she accepts after a brief hesitation. Oh, she's so falling for this again. Good luck, Veronica, I hope you know what you're getting yourself into.

She’s still not sure what she should do, her tio Jorge taught her that marriage is about supporting one another, not continuous confrontation (and screaming, and pushing around, and accusations and … should I go on?) He agrees, he knows that they can’t erase the past, but he offers to use the bad times they went through to improve their future.
Veronica believes they rushed into marriage, she’s not sorry about it, but they should have known each other better, instead of allowing for love to blind them.
Martin starts telling her about his childhood. When his father died, his mom, a strong, extraordinary woman (just like Veronica), struggled to raise him on her own. Then, she met a wonderful man and she had another son, Demetrio. Vero doesn’t want to talk about Deme, since this always makes them get into a fight. But Martin insists, Vero needs to know why he loved Deme more like a son than as a brother - when their mother died of cancer, he took care of Demetrio.
Veronica is once again very sorry that Demetrio is no more and asks Martin if she truly believes her that they were nothing more than friends.
Martin says nothing and we are left with nothing until tomorrow when I suspect they start to fight again. Or they take things upstairs, where I hope nana Matti is not anxiously waiting to hear all about how the evening went.

I love the title, Adriana! Looking forward to the recap!

Thanks Adriana. Haven't watched the episode yet but I will a little later. Looking forward to the recap.

Awesome Adriana and appreciate how you organized the lovers. Thank you

"I guess we all know where this is headed..."

I look just like I did as a kid, Magdalena cannot see a resemblance with Veronica? If I didn't know better I'd think she subconsciously still has a thing for Aaron. See you Botel.

The relationship dynamic between Aaron and Magdalena and CrazyMarty and Veronica so similar.

Some nerve Veronica has harping on Emiliano about Virginia

OMG what a romantic, innovative idea the star registry, hugs and kisses Martin, hugs and kisses, take me. I just cannot decide if I want the 24.95 package or go all out and at 59.95 get a binary star named after me.

Like the way you organized this Adriana. The scenes flip back and forth so rapidly I get mental whiplash watching it. But your consolidation by character works very well.

Martin is still holding back a lot of pertinent information, and the final scene doesn't bode well. But at least we got a couple of kisses to keep us hopeless romantics holding on.

I'm not worried about Emiliano. I figure "el destino" has him pegged for Nanciyaga, no matter what.

Best part of last night was watching Manuel put in a little hard work on those church pews. And if all he gets after is frijoles y arroz, so much the better. A lot healthier than a wad of meat and cheese in my opinion.

Thanks Adriana, and hoping the French bureaucracy is being a little more helpful this week! As if...!

Adriana, I echo tofie and JudyB in my admiration of the way you organized the recap. Excellent work! Thank you so much. I also hope that life has been a little kinder to you this week.

Please don't throw nerfazos at me when I tell you that I've been enjoying this show all along, especially the last several episodes. I especially loved the moment a few episodes back when Mati showed up on Vero's doorstep and Marty watched their happy reunion with pleasure. (It was, perhaps, one of his most sympathetic moments.)

I'm enjoying Ginny's extremely mobile face and her superb mastery of the expressions of villainy and hypocrisy. She is sooooo good at being naughty!

Poor Botel. He must have been out in the sun too long just before they filmed the scenes in the hotel. Check out how red his neck and chest are.

Thank you, Adriana! Ditto on the organization of the recap. It works perfectly.

I'm on the edge of my seat to see how Martin answers the question tomorrow. This is a real opportunity to show he's really changed. Or a real opportunity to put a final nail in the coffin of his relationship with Vero. I'm so glad she asked him about believing her. I was starting to get worried she was making this too easy for him.

If he wants truth why doesn't he tell her his original intention was to isolate her, make her fall for him and destroy her. That tells more about the man than his sob story childhood excuse he is setting up to justify the attacks. So far he has not confessed anything only using more tact during interrogation. Has he told her he really has money but lied as a test cause she's a gold-digger? Veronica has laid bare her soul.

Thanks so much Adriana for the great recap.

I loved this episode. When Pierre came in with the envelope, I was thinking Martin will get all angry with him. Glad he left quickly, before Martin got jealous. It was also cute seeing Blanquita come in to see the couple.

I love Martin and he is so romantic with his gifts and all his efforts to win Vero back. I just wished he had told Vero the whole truth. Looks like breakup #2 is coming down the line. But for now I am enjoying the episodes.

Thanks again Adriana.

Tofie- This is SO much more for him to come clean about. But the only things Vero knows to ask about are his accusations about her character, relationship with his brother, and her truthfulness. We'll see how long it takes him to come clean about everything.

I hope by the time Lo Imperdonable ends, the WHOLE truth comes out. I dont want any lose ends or unanswered questions. All needs to be revealed by the end.

Thank you Adriana for a great Friday morning read. It was exciting all the way through.

I really feel for Magdalena, her ex is a real bastard. That guy sure knows how to torture her with mental anguish. And yes, I feel that Botel might end up dead at some point in the future. It's just a guess but seems so plausible to me.

NovelaMaven---I totally agree with your statement about Ginny. You wrote, & her superb mastery of the expressions of villainy and hypocrisy. I almost exploded the other day when Carlos wrote something similar about Martin but didn't mention Virginia-Grettell at all. I wrote that he was probably too busy looking at the form in the black bikini to notice the perfectly perfected evil smirk that Ginny does soooo well. I cringe every time I see that smirky half smile which can only be described as evil to the core. Grettell Valdez is a master with that expression. I absolutely hate to see it which I guess means that she has perfected that part of her acting to a A+++

Advances!!! We need advances!

Must see tv tonight
the gringo

1Great new picture Vivi.
the gringo

Virginia doesn't bother me much cause she's supposed to be bad. I think she's off to a slow start and not gonna hate her cause she looks great in a bikini, wish I still did. Still weird to me she has Dr. Dan on the hook.

Thanks, Gringo. Felt like being myself again in my avatar. :)

Me too Vivi. Love the picture. Your energy and zest for life really come through in that picture.

Thank you Adriana. I too love your title and how you organized the couples.

Tofie - I also wondered why Maggie isn't seeing Vero in that picture of a preteen, or even if she was only 10 years old. I'm sorry but wouldn't Botel be safer if he knew that Aaron was still alive and now after him? I find this story line weak and infuriating but I guess we know where it will lead.

Thanks Adriana. What a clear, informative, smoothly written recap.

"...how dare Veronica interfere in his life, when she repeatedly asked him to stay out of hers? he kind of has a point)."

Indeed he does. Look how well she is managing her life choices.

Wow, her very own star, who wouldn't be blown away? I take back all the nasty things I've said about Martín.

I must have been dozing, what's holding Pablo up?

Carlos

Carlos- I was wondering the same thing. He didn't go off to NYC without telling anyone, did he? Manuel didn't stab him while we weren't looking, did he?

Well we know that Pablo left word with Teo that he had to do something in Pueblo Verde. I'm betting he's preparing some special surprise for Ana Perla, like, maybe he went to the Star Store there... or the Secondary Role Store where they sell titles to meteors and comets or demoted planets?

Oh wow, Vivi – I just saw your photo. It's beautiful!

Aha! Thanks for that info NovelaMaven. So a special surprise is in store for AP, and all those tears were for naught. She needs to save those up for when the real crapola hits the fan.

The surprise part is just speculation, Vivi. All we can say for sure is that Pablo told Teo he had to do something in Pueblo Verde.

Maybe he went to get some condoms. ;)

hahahahaha! Nice one, Carolina. We can only hope...

Good one, Carolina.

Thanks for the wonderful recap Adriana Noel!

My episode did have previews, which lead me to believe we are in for a very short rinse and repeat cycle. How Martin is going to look her in the eye and pull off sincerely believing she didn't sleep with his bro will make for some excellent acting within the acting!

I agree with all that he has SO much more to tell her. I'm sure it won't happen (after all this IS a TN) but it would be awesome if he answered by first saying "this is what happened and this is WHY I'm having so much trouble believing you." That said, if I was Vero's friend I would still be telling her to get out of Dodge fast-- if that guy has spent as much time with her as he has and doesn't know that she's not the type to lie, he is never going to. I'm with everyone who says he's dreamy, but in the words of the Queen B he's seeming less like a "sweet dream," more like a "beautiful nightmare." Bring on galan no.2! And for the record, the way Martin is behaving, I'd like him a little more like Julio-- we may not be sure of how much is going on upstairs, but he's nice to look at and is not busy offending us and his love at every turn.

Hasta luego!
Rebecca

I do think Julio, in spite of his limited reading skills, is a better match for Ana Perla. He understands life there. He's part of her world, even if Abuelito considers him "servant class" and therefore inferior. He's loyal, devoted and generous in his love...willing to sacrifice his own feelings if Ana Perla really wants Pablo. I think they'll end up together and it will be a good match. In fact, his role is being written as so goldurned incredibly noble, that he'll accept Ana Perla's baby with Pablo as his own and raise it as his. Noooooo, not a spoiler. I have no idea how it's going to go, but that's my guess.

Adriana Noel, nice recap. let's hope Marty and Veronica don't start to fight. I think it's nice that she's letting him tell her about his life when he was a child and his brother Demetrio and their mother. But he didn't say anything when she asked him that very pointed question which means he still hasn't changed. I hate that he is still being a Butthead because he is so sugary sweetie sweet to her but well maybe he's going to have to learn the hard way. And unfortunately so will she. I hope the evening ends well.
LOL!!! NovelMaven, demoted planets, Pluto is not a very romantic planet I hope he didn't get her that one. he should at least get her one that still in the solar system one that we can still actaully see.

Beautiful, Vivi.

Virginia who? You're my favorite headband girl.

Carlos

Adriana Noel here

Thanks, guys!I juste wrote a huge comment that vanished, so I appologize if I miss something this time around.
Vivi - great picture and
Judy - this week has been rather good, so I'm not going to complain. Very busy still but all is good.
Tofie, you made me LOL with your "hugs and kisses, kiss me now. So accurate!
Carlos, I was donneront about Pablo, too. If he's really preparing something nice for AP he should really have better timing. Abuelo looks even more annoyed than usual.
Carolina, love your guess. Let's not turn poor Julio into a father so quick.
NovelaMaven, a star for AP ? How about some brain matter. Do they have that in space ?

The chances of Martin telling Vero everything are inexistant, he will mumble something, kiss her, promise to buy her an entire galaxy when they fight again and théâtre will be it.
I don't mind Virginia at all, and Gretell Valdez can pull the bad girl pretending to be good to perfection.

Carlos- And you're my favorite doctor. I even put you above Dr. Feelgood and his muscles! :)

Vivi you rock
