Lo Imperdonable #64 (Tel #65) Fri 8/14/15 The Return Of The Veronica Sketch
Labels: imperdonable
Had to laugh at your relief that we didn't have to listen to the ENTIRE Pierre/Claudia conversation. Nope. Just long enough to get a very lingering shot of Claudia's legs and cleavage. Imagine we'll be seeing a lot more of that before this is over.
And great name for our gruesome twosome. The Disgusting Brothers. Sounds like a garage band to me. The actor playing Clemente was a lovable fella in Juan Querendon, so it pains me to see him up to such skullduggery.
And the picnic. Kept wishing Manuel would show up again and disrupt the whole thing. However, I have to agree that the mine is no place for Veronica. If she wants to help out, she can keep the books. These superstitions about women and mines exist elsewhere, and I say leave well enough alone. We've taken enough blame since Genesis, haven't we?
Yep, (Pablo is no Ellen DeGeneres) Don't imagine that selfie is going to turn out well...everyone was too far apart.
But great humor. Great recap. Thanks Mauricio.
I rather enjoyed the episode and I absolutely LOVED the recap. Thank you! You were so skillful at focusing on the conversations we cared about and omitting the social noise. As usual, you had many sharp turns of phrase and observations. Just to cite a few favorites:
Emi enters TMI mode...
"Emi gets pissed at his dad and tells him that he had no right to ask Vero that (and yet isn't that what Emi wanted? Didn't the fool basically tell her the same thing when he talked to her on the phone?!)"
Thank you for remembering that, Mauricio, even if the writers don't. !!???
It's too bad (though also too funny) that Ginny spotted Emi at the door and she and Dr. F were able to switch gears so quickly. Ah well, we all suspected it was too early for the scales to fall from Emi's eyes.
And the line JudyB already pointed out:
"He takes a selfie of them all. (Pablo is no Ellen DeGeneres)"
Maybe he is! We didn't get to see the photo. :)
Finally, I share your relief about Onix. Maybe he's back from a refresher course at obedience school.
JudyB -- The picnic did need some spicing up. It was rather boring and Gramps going on and on about it being bad luck for a woman to enter the mine didn't help things.
I have heard about the superstitions about women and mines also. And really Vero doesn't need more bad things coming her way, does she?
NovelaMaven -- I enjoyed this episode myself. It was a nice one and easy to recap.
Yes, it was too bad that Virginia noticed Emi. The previews were very misleading, weren't they? They made us think Emi had heard them.
It was nice seeing Onix. I was worried that Mejia had written him out. Polo is always with him so it was strange that lately he wasn't been around in the Polo scenes.
I would like take a look at the selfie to see how it turned out.
Looking forward to seeing what happens now.
I feeling more sorry for Emi. He deserves much better, he obviously won't get Vero at the end but I hope the writers find him someone who loves him.
I am glad Magdalena told Botel about Aaron.
Hanna
While I wasn't particularly worried about Onyx, it was a treat to see him again. Sometimes animals in TNs do simply disappear without explanation never to be seen or heard from again.
It's looking more and more as though Martín has absolutely no intention of ever revealing the full truth to Verónica. Fortunately we have Nanciyaga who almost certainly sooner or later will spill the beans, or better yet, unleash the snails.
For a frail sickly girl in a hospital bed, Virginia certainly does a spectacular job of keeping us entertained.
For such an evil guy, Aarón is clearly no criminal mastermind. What a bumbler.
"...Mariana is a noble person because she took the breakup so well."
Heh heh.
I don't know about the rest of you, I'm now keenly interested in Pablo and Ana Perla and I am eagerly anticipating their upcoming trip to New York. Should be lots of fun.
Carlos
Please hum along the music to these words...
Start spreading the news, I'm leaving today.
I want to be a part of it, New York, New York.
These vagabond shoes, are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it, New York, New York.
I wanna wake up, In a city that doesn't sleep.
And find I'm king of the hill, top of the heap.
These little town blues, are melting away.
I'll make a brand new start of it, in old New York.
If I can make it there,
I'll make it anywhere.
It's up to you, New York, New York
OK. Now for the real fun.
Pablo. "Mariana, meet the reason you are no longer my honey, Ana Perla."
"Wifey, meet the woman who you replaced, Mariana."
(Reader now hums along the sound effects of a fourteen cat catfight at 3 AM.) Yikes
Im glad malene knows who her daughter is, BUT, how will ronny feel about her when she
Finds out who momma is, cause she hates her. Thats what she told someone a while back. But shes going by what her lying dog of a father told her. O wow, there is a lot of yummy stuff to look farward to this coming week.
I have news for everyone: Mejia desisted of the crazy idea of extending this novela. Televisa has confirmed that the finale will air in Mexico on Sunday, October 4th - which means the novela will have exactly 120 episodes plus the two-hour Sunday finale. This means that the novela will end on Univision at the start of November. Cheers!!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Also BONUS POINTS for the writing of Botel's reaction to Malena's rape. No blame, just unqualified support. Can our telenovela writers learn? Yes, they can.
I also hope all the secrets are revealed not just the revenge, Virginia secrets but also Vero to be aware of Botel and Magdalena knowing about the revenge, Martin lying about the money and also Manuel starting the fire.
I hope the ending isn't rushed, loving the way the story is going so far. I love the cast.
JudyB, did I already mention how great it is to watch another tn with you? It's been a long time, amiga. Ditto about the picnic - when is Manuel when you need him? Sure, gramps the grump did enough to spoil the mood with his mine talk, but I tend to agree with him and the rest of you - why would Vero even want to set foot in such a dangerous place? Anvil, anyone?
Duchess - about Emi's endgame - why, it can only be Nancy, his destiny, right (eye roll). I'm rather looking forward to all those Prado Castello fancy parties where Salma would have to introduce Nancy as her daughter-in-law. Cab you picture it:
Salma: And, Senator, this is my son's wife, Nancyaga
Senator: How do you do?
Nancy: Nancyaga is happy to meet you, hombre moreno con bigote. I can see a shadow over your head, the elders warned me last night that I need to give you this potion to drink from (hands him a boiling cup of greeny stuff) - Nancyaga thinks this will improve your eyes and help you see that your wife has been unfaithful.
Salma: Senator, have you seen the roses in my garden? (takes his arm in a hurry and pushes him away)
Latina - pfiu! At least Mejia showed an ounce of common sense, even he can see that the story is not going great. And everyone must be looking forward to the tn replacing this - Pasion and Poder with Jorge Salinas and Fernando Colunga (!!!!) - it cannot get better than this.
Nina - I'm relieved that Malena found out the truth about Vero and that Botel knows about Aaron. Now let's hope that the police catches him and he's not able to escape and that Vero allows Malena to explain her how things went down when she was a child. Of course she will have some trouble dealing with this, but she needs to learn to be a forgiving person - God knows she's going to need it.
Thank you, Mauricio, for a nicely composed translation. You are so good at it and without it I would be mired in a dither of frustration.
I was so happy to see that Magdalena finally broke through and told Botel what happened to her and that the police arrived before Aaron - hopefully, he will soon crawl back under his rock in a dark jail cell.
And, also hopefully, Emiliano will know the truth about Virginia. Marty and Vero are becoming woefully tiresome. And Nanciyaga???? She sure is a wild child but doubt if she will betray Marty unless she feels truly crossed. Although I can't imagine what it will take now that Marty has told her he loves Vero and to stay away. She's quite mad!
Thank you very much Adriana for the Pasion y Poder info. That is exciting, knowing that my two favorite TN actors will be in a TN together!!!! Wow! They are so good! And Fernando Colunga playing a villain.....fun to see. Looking forward to that big time!
Gale
I hated Sergio Sendel's characters in LQLVMR and Destilando Amor. I loved his portrayal of them. He is one awesome bad guy and I love to hate him. I absolutely can't stand the wimpy fool he is playing here. I can only hope that he turns reallllly dark once he finds out that Virginia has been playing him. I hope he does something really bad to her, kidnaps Veronica and teaches his parents a lesson about trusting the wrong people. Maybe he can also turn psycho and delusional and convince himself that Veronica is actually really in love with HIM and not Martin. And I hope he knocks Horrible Martin down a few pegs, challenges him to a duel and beats his A$$ !!!
The police are on their way and the patio peeps are hoping to see Aaron sitting in a jail soon. The advances fooled us on Friday with Emi looking in on V-snake and Doctor F's kiss that never happened. If the advances are right this time, It looks like the evil Aaron gets away. I guess that we will know Monday.
NovelaMaven---Maybe Onix is back from a refresher course at obedience school. That could be. The last time that we saw him, he was pretty frisky.
Can't wait for the wedding. I have liked Pablo and Ana Perla from day one. I know that others didn't but I did. I am looking forward to seeing Ana Perla in New York. I am not looking forward to seeing Mariana and the trouble that she will bring.
Question--Will simple country girl be able to handle the highly educated city woman?
Adriana Noel---Even Mejia can see that the story isn't going great and everyone must be looking forward to the tn replacing this.---The gringo will have to side with the Duchess. I'm enjoying Lo Imperdonable and am not anxious to see it end.
Must see tv Monday night---Will Aaron be caught and be punished for his crimes or will he break away and run free to continue on with his evil?
the gringo
Duchess,
I'm thinking that in the end Emi and Nanci will end up together. The elders said they were destined to be together and I believe them.
I have always been told that you should listen to your elders. :)
Hanna,
Yes, Marty is digging his own grave. He is only making things worse by continuing to keep quiet. It will only make things worse if Vero finds out from someone else or if she finds out on her own. I'm hoping the truth comes out soon. Looking forward to seeing what happens once the truth comes out.
Nanci is a huge disappointment. She's definitely not innocent. She's keeping the secret of who the real "mala mujer" is for her own selfish reasons.
Carlos,
The CC's were terrible on Firday night. I tried using them while watching the episode but ended up turning them off because they were lagging behind.
You're right. It doesn't look like Marty is ever going to tell Vero the truth. She'll have to find out on her own or from someone else it seems.
I agree. The Pablo/Ana Perla/Mariana triangle just got interesting. I am also looking forward to seeing what happens with them.
Start spreading the news, I'm leaving today.

Great song. Thanks!
YES! It should be fun once Mariana and Ana Perla meet. Looking forward to it.
My weekend has been really nice. Spending time with my family. Thanks for asking.
I agree. There are a lot of things to look forward to this coming week.
Will Magdalena tell Vero the truth? Will they have a DNA test done? What will happen to Aaron now that the cops are after him? etc.
LatinaInMD,
Thanks so much for the info on the when the finale will be in Mexico. Keeping it at 120 episodes plus the 2 hour finale sounds good to me. It's a good length.
JdesdeNYC,
Yes. I also liked Botel's reaction to finding out about Magdalena's rape.
I also liked how Magdalena decided to report the rape.
Duchess,
I hope it wraps up nicely and isn't rushed as well. I also hope that all the secrets are revealed at the end and that we aren't left with any loose ends.
Adriana Noel,
Salma: And, Senator, this is my son's wife, Nancyaga
Senator: How do you do?
Nancy: Nancyaga is happy to meet you, hombre moreno con bigote. I can see a shadow over your head, the elders warned me last night that I need to give you this potion to drink from (hands him a boiling cup of greeny stuff) - Nancyaga thinks this will improve your eyes and help you see that your wife has been unfaithful.
Salma: Senator, have you seen the roses in my garden? (takes his arm in a hurry and pushes him away)
I would LOVE to see this happen. I can't wait until Salma meets Nanci. It should be fun.
Thanks for the info on the next novela. I'm looking forward to it also.
Gale,
I'm glad that Magdalena told Botel everything too and that she is now safe and free from Aaron.
I have always seen Sergio Sendel playing a villain that I find it strange to see him playing such a fool and a wimp in this novela.
gringo,
I loved Botel's line that one must get rid of the trash. It was one that registered with me too and that's why I included it in the recap.
I am also looking forward to seeing Ana Perla in New York. Although I am kind of surprised that Gramps would allow her to travel far away from home.
Nina,
I loved it when Botel said "one must get rid of the trash", that should involve Virginia, and some other people on there that I can't remember the names right now. O yeah, aaron and his slimmy bro Clemente.
It would also include Manuel.
Allow me to clarify. I'm with you both. I LOVE watching "Lo Imperdonable", or at least Vero and Martin's story as interpreted by Ana Brenda and Ivan Sanchez. In my over 30 years of watching novelas, this is one of the best lead couples I have ever seen. In fact, I personally prefer their interpretations of both characters over those of either Kate Del Castillo/Guy Ecker or Silvia Navarro/Juan Soler, primarily because neither Guy Ecker nor Juan Soler do anything for me in those roles or any other roles. That's my own personal preference. I'm not interested in getting into any debate with anyone about how much better or worse those other versions were, because I'm not going to convince them and they are not going to convince me, so debating it is pointless. I just want to make those of you who like Vero and Martin aware that I am sitting firmly at the Vero and Martin table along with you.
I do want to say that one reason I have hardly commented here, despite being on the recap team and despite liking the lead story in this novela, is that I recall reading elsewhere on Caray Caray that one of the rules here is that we are not supposed to discuss details of previous versions, at least as those details relate to future episodes not yet broadcast on Univision. In my view, that rule has been broken several times in recent weeks with certain comments that, at the very least, contained hints about the plot and pacing (in those previous versions) of parts of the main storyline that correspondent to Lo Imperdonable episodes that have not yet been broadcast on Univision. I was tempted to respond to those comments, but in order to do so I too would have broken that rule, so I chose not to say anything.
What I do want to say is that the main reason that I'm glad that Lo Imperdonable will not be extended beyond 120 episodes is that despite (or perhaps because of) my love of Vero and Martin as interpreted by Ana Brenda and Ivan Sanchez, I agree with the general consensus that Mejia is a terrible producer who could have done so much more with his two amazing leads if only he had not been so obsessed with forcing us to watch the Ana Perla and Pablo storyline, based on a written novela that had never once before been produced for TV for obvious reasons - because it is boring and sleep-inducing. If Mejia had extended the novela, he surely would have continued overemphaszing AP and P's storyline, so I'm glad that it will end at 120 episodes.
For Pablo and AP most times I just fast forward their scenes. Not interested at all in their storyline.
I am afraid Aaron, even if caught, will be allowed out of jail very quickly. There were too many questions by the police about clothes worn during the rape and semen traces that cannot be produced as evidence. Unless the point was to produce a PSA for rape victims?
I was impressed with Pablo’s recognition that his quick engagement to Ana Perla after his long engagement to Mariana might be an extra wound to Mariana after being “dumped”. Too bad he doesn’t realize that Mariana doesn’t even believe they have broken up. I haven’t found the Pablo and Ana Perla story boring except when Pablo was pursuing Ana Perla before he had “broken up” with Mariana.
I have not been a Nanciyaga fan at all, but I think a lot of people have been too harsh on her these past couple of episodes. Nanciyaga comes to Ireri, obviously very upset, wishing to talk with her. Nanciyaga says her heart belongs to one who is committed to another and Ireri immediately flies off the handle and assumes it’s Uspin. Come on…..this is the woman that saved you from being raped by Manuel. How about being a better friend and talking to her for a minute or two?
Also, Nanciyaga comes to Martín, extremely agitated (more than usual) and tries to tell him about how they could be together. Her whole world is upside down. She thinks the elders were wrong—a pretty big deal in her mind—and this opens the door again to her and Martín being together. Again, instead of anyone taking the time to talk to her, she is yelled at and shouted down. You know she may have a different mindset and perspective as she comes from another culture. And though I am not convinced of Nanciyaga’s medical skills, Martín and Vero believe she saved their own life and that of their spouse. So come on…..how about sitting down and talking to her for a minute or two?
NovelaMaven, Eli Perez, LatinaInMD (welcome back), and Adriana Noel: sorry I wasn’t able to comment this week. Thanks to each of you for your recaps.
Well, anyway—this past week was fun and the story moved along nicely. Pablo and AP are engaged, Botel knows about Aaron, Magdalena knows Veronica is her daughter. Now onto this week!
Barbara
I am enjoying "Lo Imperdonable" as well and will miss it once it ends. It's the only novela I have been keeping up with. I like Ana Brenda and Ivan Sanchez as the leading couple. Both are doing a good with the characters they have been given. I also like the rest of the cast and think everyone is doing a good job with their roles.
LatinaInMD and Diva,
I didn't see the comments as spoilers more like of a comparison to the previous versions. But if you and others think they are spoilers then those comments will have to be removed since this a spoiler free blog. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
Martin and Vero do have good chemistry. I like Ivan Sanchez and Ana Brenda as a couple.
Barbara,
This week was fun. I am looking forward to seeing what will happen this week.
If you read Jane's post reiterating the rules for this blog –
http://caraycaray.blogspot.com/2015/06/all-must-read-bloggers-and-visitors.html
– you'll see that SPOILERS are not permitted. She says nothing about discussions of previous versions of the story.
I think we can distinguish between references to previous versions and true spoilers. Comparisons can be fun. Those who find them tedious can simply opt not to read them.
Of course we want this blog to be a civil space where people respect one another. What we don't want are so many rules that we start driving away our most cherished commenters and recappers.
It's fine to discuss previous versions of the story as long as you are careful not to include events that have not yet occurred in the present version.
In the case of this story, it is obvious to everyone that the revelation of Martin's secret is central to the plot. It is almost impossible to say anything without referring to it or speculating about it.
@NovelaMaven - thanks for clarifying Jane's description of the no spoilers rule with the statement that "It's fine to discuss previous versions of the story as long as you are careful not to include events that have not yet occurred in the present version." Forgive me for pressing the issue, but I have a further question about this: as it relates to the current slate of novelas being recapped here, including Lo Imperdonable, I have read restatements of the "no spoilers" rule in several feeds that clarified that "no spoilers" also means NOT saying anything that even HINTS at future plot developments, not even GENERAL comments like "wait until you see how much better the plot will be in a few days or weeks" or anything to that effect. Shouldn't that rule also apply as it relates to comparisons to previous versions? I mean, some of those comparisons go out of their way to say "how much more was happening" at this juncture in those previous versions. Yes, it is a general statement, but how is that any different than saying "wait until you see how much more will happen a few days or weeks from now" on Lo Imperdonable? You see my issue with the way in which the comparisons are being made?
I don't consider the "Wait until you see how much better the plot will be in a few days/weeks" to be a spoiler. It gives NOTHING away. It just encourages the flagging viewer to hang tight.
Some people (myself included) really like these kinds of comments. Some people don't. But their dislike doesn't make the comment a spoiler, nor does it turn automatically into yet another RULE. You might be surprised to learn that there are some types of comments that I find irritating, but I'm not going to demand that they be banned.
Jane's rules for CarayCaray are exquisitely simple:
Be kind.
Be respectful.
No spoilers.
No politics.
Do you see anything there about general "Hang in there – it gets better" comments? I don't.
So your concern is a non-issue. References to previous versions as well as "Hang in there – it gets better" comments are fine as long as they don't give away what happens next in the story.
