Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #4 Fri 8/28/15 Muchacha Italiana viene a seguirme!

Greetings!  Ciao, Muchacha Patio Peeps to my inaugural MIVAC recap!  Yaaay!  Let's hit it!

Giana has collapsed in the lobby of the hospital while Fiorella screams for help!    Adela and Ray, Benito’s parents and perhaps on the maintenance staff of the building where they live, are at the hospital having tended to Ray’s sprained foot and they witness this pitiable scene.  Adela intervenes with the cold receptionist and demands a Dr. be found to attend to Gianna right away!  They will pay the bill.  A Dr. and Nurse rush out with a stretcher and load Gianna on.  Adela encourages Fiorella to accompany her sister!

We zip across town where Pedro is on the phone with Eloisa, his Grandmother and long-suffering Matriarch.  She scolds Pedro about holding up the reading of the will.  She is inpatient to get it underway because she wants this pack of greedy hyenas out of her house.  Pedro informs Eloisa that her beloved grandson, Osvaldo, has complicated the negotiations with the Italians.  Ah, she always said Osvaldo was a good for nothing!  Pedro will take care of cleaning up Osvaldo’s mess and contact the law office to read the will the following day.  Good, because Eloisa doesn’t want those vultures hanging around her another day!

The vultures yip and yap at each other at the table.  Present are Federica, Osvaldo, Sonia, Gael and Roxanne.  Roxanne takes exception with Gael referring to the maid attending the table as Simoncita and wonders if he does this because he feels inferior.  Well, if she would come to his bed he would show her there’s nothing inferior about him!  Osvaldo wonders if Federica wants to tell them something about the inheritance. . .when Sergio sweeps in and sweetly flatters the blushing Simona, asking her to please heat his food.  Now it’s time for Sonia to complain about Sergio directing his seductive powers at a "mere" maid.  Sergio turns it back on her:  it’s not his fault that she chose the wrong man as her spouse.  Osvaldo thinks Sergio would put his energies to better use in getting Pedro to the ranch already so the will can be read.  Sergio shuts them up.  If not for Pedro, they wouldn’t be drinking fine French wine, but tap water, and thanks to Pedro, the family business is not bankrupt!   Salud!  The vultures can’t help but drink to that!

Back at the hospital Fiorella tearfully thanks Adela and Ray and promises to pay them back to the last centavo.  Gianna is much better and will be fine if she sticks to her strict regimen of medicine for her heart as well as undergo a treatment of some sort.  To her shame, Fiorella admits they have nowhere to go and shares the whole tale of woe with Adela and Ray.  It’s settled!  Fiorella and Gianna will come home with them and she won’t take no for an answer!  They will spend the night with her and in the morning help her find the person they were waiting for.  Fiorella thanks them with warm embraces!

Pedro arrives at Tania’s apartment and finds her on the floor sobbing in a knot of shame:  she has fallen off the wagon!   He hugs her and tells her it will be all right.

It is morning.   Bright sunlight bathes the cheery breakfast table where Adela and Ray sit while Fiorella is using a laptop to contact Don Vito via email.  Ray loudly opines that Fiorella’s “fiancé” has probably already filed a complaint against her.  If he were in that gentleman’s place he’d certainly think she had run game on him.  Fiorella doesn’t get upset but calmly informs Ray that he doesn’t know her:  she is a decent woman.  Gianna has awakened and is invited to breakfast.  Adela and Ray exit to the kitchen to make some chilaquiles – they are like pizza but made with tortillas!

Uh oh.  Fiorella can’t find her information on Don Vittorio and it doesn’t take much to get it out of Gianna that she deleted his account!  Fiorella rips into her and Adela comes out when she hears the racket, to make peace.  Realizing all means of contacting Don Vito are gone, Fiorella offers to clean and do other jobs around the house in payment.  Adela has a better idea.  She knows someone in the building who needs a girl to help clean.  Adela takes Fiorella off so she can tidy up a bit and then they’ll go and meet her.

Vito, in his opulent office, frets over what could’ve happened to Fiorella and Gianna.  Benito calls and Vito reports that no, they have not appeared.  Vito has been studying the classified section of the newspaper.

Tania has fixed breakfast for Pedro to apologize and thank him.  He accepts that falling off the wagon is normal; he is more concerned about the reason for her fall.  I’m sure they have this conversation several times a day:  He can’t be with her 24/7; she feels neglected and hurt that he’s ashamed of her.  Well, this is the only kind of relationship he can have with her and he won’t leave her as long as she follows the rules.  He’s off the a family meeting and admonishes her NOT to call him!  Tania eyes the bottle of liquor after Pedro has left.

Benito arrives home and is introduced to Gianna and Fiorella.  He knows immediately exactly who they are and I deduct a whole lot of points from his character score card as he says absolutely nothing!  He even hears why they did not meet him and Don Vito at the airport, Gianna’s taking ill and all.  He says NOTHING, other than reassuring them that they are welcome to stay in his parent’s home as long as they wish!  Adela and Fiorella leave to meet the tenant who needs help.  Benito gets a call from Vito. . .he’ll be right there!  Traitor!

As promised, Pedro digs Osvaldo out real good for interfering in and complicating the negotiations with the Italians.  Pedro was able, through much effort, to get them to go back to the original deal HE negotiated and Osvaldo ought to be thankful because had he not been successful, Granny Eloisa would have sent him far away!  Well, Pedro is going to be the one sent far away if he doesn’t get HIS self to the ranch today.  So, we get it.  Pedro the mover and shaker, Osvaldo the inept and envious.  They decide to go to the ranch.  Maybe if Osvaldo sees what Granny has left them, he’ll get the hell away from him and leave him to run the business.  As they exit, Pedro’s secretary tells him he has an urgent call. . . .from Tania.  Pedro sends Osvaldo away with the cover that he has an urgent conference call with The Italians.

Pedro goes into his office and calls Tania.  Ah, Tania is the girl who needed help!  Fiorella merrily dusts a shelf of what-nots as Tania directs her not to leave one speck of dust:  it makes her nervous.  Tania is a bit sloshed but answers Pedro’s questions. . .Fabiola. . .er, Fiorella is a girl she hired to work for them, she knows Adela, she’s Italian, she’s divine, and he will meet her.  Tania covers the phone and tells Fiorella that she’s talking to her boyfriend, who is ashamed of her and wants to abandon her.  She denies to Pedro that she is drinking but that if he doesn’t come right away, she will think that he doesn’t love her and then she WILL drink!  Fiorella’s smile has faded as she takes all this in.  Tania hangs up on Pedro.

Tania asks Fiorella not to think she’s a crazy drunk lady:  she just likes to have fun and pull her boyfriend’s chain.  Fiorella  walks over to the coffee table in front of the sofa where Tania sits.  Fiorella says no, she’s not a drunkard, that was her uncle Lucas, he couldn’t stop drinking and eventually died of cirrhosis of the liver.  Tania shouldn’t worry, she’s young and beautiful and has a boyfriend, which is no small thing.  Fiorella now sits on the floor, the coffee table between her and Tania and it suddenly feels like a sleepover between besties.  Fiorella asks what her boyfriend is like.  Tania gets all dreamy-eyed:  “Ahhhh.  Pedro is a Prince.   He’s got black hair, and blue eyes.  He’s educated, he’s a gentleman, he’s elegant, and fun, we go on trips, and he cares for me, and protects me, and helps me, he’s perfect . . .”  Fiorella asks if they will be married and the girl talk is interrupted by Tania’s phone.  It’s Diana, Tania’s friend who is quite pregnant.  Tania goes to the balcony to talk to her.  Fiorella looks at and reads some lines from Tania’s diary which is open on the coffee table.  In the diary Tania sadly gushes about the shadows of anguish that engulfed her today but Pedro chased them all away with his smile and all his love and illuminated her life once more!  Fiorella grins and silently sighs that Pedro must be a true Prince Charming!  Tania walks back into the living room and we hear her counsel Diana not to worry, that a man will NEVER abandon the woman who is having his child. . .she muses aloud that if she were to be pregnant. . . .she hastily encourages Diana to relax and excuses herself.  Tania sends Fiorella to the pharmacy to pick something up for her.

Pedro orders a car and instructs Osvaldo to go on to the ranch.  Osvaldo orders his driver to follow Pedro and report back to him where Pedro is going while he will take a taxi to the ranch.

Benito arrives at Don Vito’s office and completes his betrayal by not breathing a word of having found Fiorella and Gianna.  Don Vittorio won’t rest until he finds the girls!  Don Vito asks Benito to put all the emails from Fiorella into a folder in chronological order.  Benito tries to question the logic of Don Vito calling the police:  what will he tell them, that he sent money and tickets to a couple of strangers?   They will laugh at him.  He is right.  The police will not be of any help.  That is why he has hired a private investigator.  He has asked for all the information he can give him on Fiorella and Gianna, including those emails.  The P.I. promised he won’t rest until he finds those girls!  Benito has cara de “oh, snap.”

At the elegant vulture's nest, Sergio, Federica, Roxanne and Sonia wonder where Pedro is after their usual round of hissing and sniping, including complaining that Doña hasn’t even bothered to greet them.   Osvaldo arrives.  Granny descends to stairs and chides the men for not offering to help her  and proceeds to insult the whole gathering.  When she learns that Pedro is not coming she decides to go back upstairs to her bedroom.  Osvaldo and Gael offer to help but she declines:  She has no intention of letting them further embitter the day and ascends perfectly, and haughtily, on her own!

Pedro enters the elevator in Tania’s building.  His face is buried in a newspaper so he doesn’t see who has stopped the elevator to also enter.  It’s Fiorella.  She greets him, he doesn’t answer.  She notices he’s also going to the sixth floor.  BAM!  The elevator comes to an abrupt and unscheduled stop.  He lowers the paper and mumbles, “You again.”  There is no light in his eyes or voice.

They sent you to watch me.  You’re following me, aren’t you?

No, it’s destiny

It’s destiny that my Grandmother sent you.

Your Grandma?  I don’t think it was your Grandma that sent me; I don’t know her.

Anyway they beat around the bush and she doesn’t quite tell him enough for him to know that Tania sent her to the pharmacy and Fiorella’s head half in the clouds thinking and talking don’t help.  She introduces herself and when she hears his name, Pedro, she realizes he is the Pedro Tania was talking about.  She almost gives this away, abruptly drops his hand and challenges him as the man in this situation to do something.  He pushes an alarm button and she chides him that that is something she could do herself .  She begins to yell for help!

Benito continues to try to dissuade Don Vito from hiring a P.I.  It’s the second worse idea he’s ever had:  the first was sending for those girls in the first place.  Vito takes a call from the P.I. while Benito continues to try to throw doubts at him; their names may be something else; maybe they’re working with the mafia; he should just drop the whole investigation!  Don Vito ignores him.

Tania is talking to Diana again and has floated the idea of becoming pregnant with Pedro’s child.  Diana tries to discourage her but Tania is convinced that if she gets pregnant, Pedro will NEVER leave her!  Diana counters that she needs to work on their relationship before trying to get pregnant.  Tania’s drinking wasn’t a solution, and pregnancy won’t be either and will only complicate her life:  if Pedro won’t recognize her and formalize their relationship, she should leave him.  Tania vows that she will NEVER leave Pedro.  She can’t live without him!

Inside the elevator of NOT budding love, Fiorella is beginning to panic.  She thinks they’ve been in there for hours and it’s getting difficult to breathe.  Pedro thinks she’s being ridiculous.  Ray and Adela arrive at the elevator and do ineffective and silly things to try to open it.   On the inside Pedro manages to pry the door open and they get out.  Both pant in each other’s faces a bit. . . .no, not like that, they had to squeeze out of the small space between the doors.  Fiorella thanks Pedro.  Adela and Ray arrive back from wherever they went and Fiorella proclaims that Pedro rescued her.  Ray and Adela hug Pedro warmly and fuss over Fiorella.

As Pedro leaves, Fiorella also heads back to Tania’s apartment.  He stops, looks at her suspiciously and asks if she’s following him again.

Once again in the vultures nest Federica, Roxanne and Sonia sigh and trade barbs, insinuating that Pedro is the  only grand attraction at El Rancho Los Angels, accusing one another of having their eyes set on him, even his aunt, Federica.  Sonia thinks Federica is a cougar and would go for Pedro if he weren’t her nephew.  Roxanne thinks that since they are DISTANT cousins, she sees nothing wrong with hooking up with Pedro.  Grandma Eloisa is watching them from her closed circuit hookup and hisses, “sobre mi cadaver!”  Over my dead body!

Fiorella continues on her way to Tania’s apartment.  He continues to be creeped out and she finally tells him she is on her way to Tania’s apartment to give her the medicine she sent for.  He can take it he likes.  His antennae go up even more.  How does she know that’s where he’s going?  Well, because he’s Pedro. . .

Yes, I’m Pedro.  What else did Tania tell you?  You know my name, you know I’m going to this apartment.  What else do you know?

Sir, you told me your name in the elevator.  He asks again, what else does she know?

Pedro is closing the space between himself and Fiorella and it doesn’t feel warm and fuzzy.  Tania comes out of the apartment and calls Pedro’s name.  Pedro turns and looks at Tania.

FIN.  Til Monday!

Okay. Phew. Takes longer when you're still getting to know who's who in the zoo. As always, I welcome corrections. Probably will not edit tonight. You know, I like Don Vitto and don't like what Benito is doing to him! Did he think Don Vito would just go, "oh well, easy come, easy go!?" Heck no! Dumb bunny Benito. We'll see how this all ends!

Y'all have it!

Woo hoo! Thank you, Lila!

I'm already laughing at the title...Paranoid much, Pedro?

Adela's, like, fierce. I would not want to get on her bad side.

"If not for Pedro, they wouldn’t be drinking fine French wine, but tap water, and thanks to Pedro, the family business is not bankrupt! Salud! The vultures can’t help but drink to that!" Wow that was...I don't think I like any of the vultures. Good thing I'm not supposed to. Does Pedro take care of every single person in his life in some way?

"Well, this is the only kind of relationship he can have with her and he won’t leave her as long as she follows the rules." Ay, Pedro.

"He knows immediately exactly who they are and I deduct a whole lot of points from his character score card as he says absolutely nothing!" Ay, Benito! At first I thought he was being overprotective of his boss, but now that he's heard the story how can he possibly think those two are a couple of scam artists? Scam artists who end up living with his parents and cleaning apartments are probably doing it wrong.

"Tania sends Fiorella to the pharmacy to pick something up for her." Duuuuuude, that whole thing seemed shady. Like the pharmacist is Tania's dealer. She was all evasive about it when Fiorella asked if it was a prescription.

"Grandma Eloisa is watching from her closed circuit hookup and hisses, 'sobre mi cadaver!' Over my dead body!" See, that's why you install cameras AND speakers, Eloisa...so you don't have to mutter these things to yourself. Plus you can yell at people to get their feet off the furniture.

Thank you again, Lila!

LILA, awesome Recap! I am still trying to sort out the vultures, thank you for taking time to details who is saying what.

Interestingly Pedro is not Mr Perfect; he has some "baggage" and doesn't always deal with it manfully (like pretending not to know is own girlfriend in public), but I bet he will grow on us.

Was was looking forward to Benito rushing to tell Don Vitto about finding the girls; agree this was a disappointing reveal of Benito's character. however it's early days yet. So, lots of potential and interesting characters.

J in Oregon

Thank you Lila so much for the romp through.

Headed into Myanmar (Burma) tomorrow

Lila, you hit the ground running and really did this with your usual style and grace.

I have a little bit different take on Benito's actions. I think he always thought that his boss was making a huge mistake by conning a (?) 23 year old girl into getting engaged with him, and sees all kinds of problems for his boss if the two actually meet. Benito hiding Fio from his boss is not being done for any type of self gain.

I don't understand how a hard worker and universal problem solver like Pedro could get into, and stay in a relationship with someone like Tania. Maybe he thinks his problem solving skills are so great that he can deal with the impossible. I hated Tania's idea of getting knocked up as a way of clinging to him. I really hope that doesn't happen.

So everyone at the vulture table recognized that Pedro is the one who keeps the family finances in the black, but like vultures everywhere, they despise him for his hard work and ability to accomplish goals on behalf of the family. Sounds like he should opt out of the family business and start a taco stand or something, which, with his business acumen would probably wind up being a highly successful chain in Mexico and Italy.

Although it has sinister overtones, I am getting a kick out of granny and her spy camera. Using high tech stuff to level the playing field between her aged self and the host of young greedy whippersnappers!

(from yesterday) JudyB, it sounds like you and I are in the same boat regarding our hearing. Sucks, doesn't it?

Thanks again, Lila. You always start out weekends off with a bang!

David

Thank you Lila. I haven't watched the episode yet so I will comment more on it later. Overall I have not found any bad spots yet except maybe that some accents are hard to understand especially Benito's dad. The main sisters are fairy tale gorgeous and their bond is so cute. Vittorio and Benito are hilarious too .

The sisters have surely met plain rude people like the rent guy, taxi driver who robbed their money and luggage, Fio's former boss , the doctor and that secretary.

Pedro is super cold and rude, can't he just rest for a second? Doesn't he realize that Tania most likely started drinking because of his constant disrespect? Surely she is a failed actress and Pedro has a dragon for a grandma but that doesn't justify Pedro's treatment.
Like my new avatar says "Let's just put a smile on that face! shall we?

Just getting up this morning and I have to say how much I love that title!

Have to exercise and grocery shop, but I'm saving this and the La Vecina recap as a little reward.

Hasta luego, noruego!

Buongiorno! Come state tutti voi?

Grazie, Diva! I haven't known him long enough to be disappointed but I'm pre-disappointed in Benito. Vitto seems like a nice old guy and as I am closer to his age than to Benito's I'm like, hey, let the old guy find some love! I think Benito may be a Jr. Vulture in the Dolce Vita Ristorante like one of my friends said earlier!

I think Tania may have sent for a pregnancy test.

Eloisa is a trip, isn't she? I think she's got their number and I don't blame her. I wonder how much she knows of Federica's true character and her plotting with, what's that huge butler/caretaker dude's name?

Grazie, J in O! Whoa! These early episodes are challenging but fun. I hope I didn't leave out any important parts of the conversation amongst the vultures! Hopefully I included enough for us to get at least broad strokes of their character portrait. Does any of them ever say anything positive, or even just neutral to one another? Sheesh! And no, Paranoid Pedro is far from Perfect!

Gotta go sling some hash! BRB!

Lila, the day is even sunnier with your surperb recap. Your words bring on a life of their own, they enhance and brighten beautifully.

"Pedro arrives at Tania’s apartment and finds her on the floor sobbing in a knot of shame" and "Bright sunlight bathes the cheery breakfast table" brought those images into focus perfectly.

Adela and Ray are my heroes. Loving, kind, compassionate and generous.

Now to the other end of the spectrum: “He’s off the a family meeting and admonishes her NOT to call him!.” Does Pedro have a heart? I only see that he is stern and joyless. Is this man without personality and laughter REALLY slated to be our galan?

Vultures is right Kat. That entire brood was simply horrid. One was worse than the next.

Lila, I had a completely different thought on Benito (which I see you share David). Could he possibly be protecting the girls? I don’t know why but I am fervently hoping he has something helpful in mind although I have no idea what. He seems like a good sort although it’s sadly not uncommon for amazing parents to have lackluster children (see La Sombra, Uriel and Irma).

My heart goes out to Tania, especially as to how she sees Pedro (charming and loving), but through the distorted filter of alcohol.

I'm so enjoying this. Thank you Lila!

Diana

Wow after watching the episode I was shocked at the amount of hostility the Vultures have but I cannot blame them. If I lived in a family where I was constantly humiliated, mistrusted , demanded perfection and insulted I would want the old croak gone too. What is the most priceless is that Eloisa watched the bickering in Live. Get ready folks and enjoy the roller-coaster for our new reality show where everyone is watching you moan, Big Dragon ( Eloisa is our first female Big Brother equipped with dragonic eyes and a stick that personifies her heart of wood!) . Lila, as for the guard his name is Dante, interestingly associated by the tale of Dante's Inferno and 9 Circles of Hell.

I believe that Benito is protecting the girls because he either likes Gianna or is just preventing Vittorio from committing stupidity because he feels bad for the old grumpy man and wants to "protect" him.

I honestly feel bad for Tania and I have never ever felt bad for a Bad Babe. I am more disturbed by Pedro who doesn't give a crap about her feelings and does not even defend his love against the might of Big Dragon. In my opinion fighting for your love no matter the circumstances seem to be the common plot point of this show. Pedro so far has not shown even a bit of that.

Hey, Tofie! Traveling mercies! Thank you and have fun, hon!

Grazie, David! I'm going to take your different take on Benito under consideration. I really don't want to dislike him but it is not for him to try to intervene to prevent another adult from making a decision. If he is concerned he should still warn both parties, Vito and Fiorella and still carry out his obligation to let his boss know he has found the two girls. This is an interesting little problem isn't it. Let's see how Benito's motivations are revealed!

ITA on Pedro and Tania, brother: he has single-handedly and probably from a young age steered the vessel of the family business away from the rocks and they STILL hate him!

Using high tech stuff to level the playing field between her aged self and the host of young greedy whippersnappers!

Amen, brother!

Grazie, CountxAlacran! Welcome to the MIVAC Patio! Yah, we're all getting used to new characters. Benito's dad's voice drives me up the wall. Most of all agree with your take on Pedro: he does come off as cold and rude. I'm hoping, though, that this is because his whole life, at least for the past few years, has been living up to the uber high expectations of Granny and manning the family business with the likes of inept and angry Osvaldo and the other vultures circling overhead. Now, to learn that some members of the family are even lusting after him! That's enough to turn a dude cold and rude!

Sara! See you later, sorella (sister)!

Yeah Lila his family affected the state of his mind as well. Everyone has suffered consequences from Big Dragon's unintended neglect. Only Sergio is the only half normal resident in the Ranch of Inferno. We did learn that he has suffered from his spouses's death and has been partying ever since. Big Dragon ( Eloisa) suffers from ocerjudgment which lead to the half normals hating it too thus they view Big Dragon as a tyrant. And I thought Vittorio was a dragon due to his surname LOL.

overjudgment*

O mio Dio! Grazie, Diana! Does Pedro have a heart? I only see that he is stern and joyless Yes, we are all lamenting this but I think, no I'm sure this is all to highlight the way that our joyful Fiorella will brighten every corner of his heart. There was a tiny glimmer of that in the elevator when he was a bit amused and befuddled when she pushed aside his manly efforts to help them by ringing the alarm button to yell for help. A TINY glimmer. But the way he was moving in on her questioning her about what she knew about him felt meanacing! Yikes!

Thank you for the different take on Benito. You see him as protecting the girls. Point well taken. I'm not sure why I'm seeing things from Vito's point of view. Could be, like I said above, my, ehem, age identification with Vitto. I am going to enjoy seeing this unfold!

My heart goes out to Tania, especially as to how she sees Pedro (charming and loving), but through the distorted filter of alcohol.

Totally agree, Diana, and beautifully stated! Fiorella even sees the bright side of Tania. That was a perfect little vignette to demonstrate how our leading lady is so kind and sweet and able to see the good in others. Will Fiorella continue to work for Tania and if she does, what if she takes Tania's side and is supportive of Tania in her travails with Pedro? Nice set up. Lots of things to watch for!

Hey, CountxAlacran! this is mighty delicious:

Get ready folks and enjoy the roller-coaster for our new reality show where everyone is watching you moan, Big Dragon ( Eloisa is our first female Big Brother equipped with dragonic eyes and a stick that personifies her heart of wood!). Damn. That's sweet! And looks like you empathize with the "family" against the "Big Dragon." Interesting. Oh, this is going to be a fun story line!

Okay, that's what, three of my friends who have a different take on Benito! This is fascinating. Weigh in on Benito, y'all!

Thanks for the name, Dante, and yes, I thought of the Inferno right away. Like you and Diana I feel badly for Bad Babe Tania as well! These folk have set us up a nice, juicy show for the 7 pm slot, haven't they!

Lila - thank you for the recap! Pedro the not so charming prince to our Cinderella is not endearing himself to me. Best guess is there is a lot of room for character growth. Tomorrow I'll be home and can watch my episodes. Yay!

Yes, Sergio. What do y'all think of Sergio? He didn't make a good impression in his first wobbly entrance into the Rancho. I was touched by his defense of Pedro and see that he is easily able to slip between tipsy/oblivious/flirtatious butt of the vultures jokes to clear-eyed and truth-speaking. Sergio is much more intune with the past and the present than he's given credit for and I believe he also has a good heart. We have yet to learn how his wife died and why Eloisa is so unforgiving of his way of "dealing" with the pain of it. I suppose she thinks him weak by coping through booze and women but I think Eloisa, all the vultures and Pedro himself underestimate Sergio. Can't wait to see the first interaction between the two of them.

They're whetting our appetite for this first encounter and the whole gathering to hear the reading of the will, aren't they?

Hey, Doris! Thanks, hon! Yah. Prince Charming he's not. LOTS of room for character growth! You are so right! Can't wait for you to watch and weigh in!

Just finished reading. Thank you!

I loved "the elevator of NOT budding love."

Diana- I have to thank you for that analysis of Benito as well. I really like him and I hate to think that he is a bad apple. And he's parents are so sweet. They deserve a nice son.

I am in love with the black kaftan that Federica was wearing. And like I said earlier, I love the Agatha Christie "And Then There Were None" vibe.

Lila, I like Sergio and I agree what you said about him. He is the only one who has claws and care for the family despite not everyone seeing it. Gael the annoying, Roxana the spoiled, Pedro the wooden favorite, Sonia the pretentious, Sergio the partier, Osvaldo the Ambitious , Eloisa the Demanding Dragon , Dante The Hell Dog and Federica the schemer. That is what family unity is all about!

Thank you, Sara! and CountX! Quite a cast of characters, isn't it. And I'm going to have to go back and check out what Federica was wearing! A Pru substitute (for fashion) maybe?

I'm not sure she'll be a Pru substitute yet, but so far I've really liked her style.

Hmmm. I subscribed to follow up comments. Why won't the check box stay clicked? Maybe I have to actually make a comment when I click it so this is a test.

If you're on your computer yes, you. Have to make a comment. On a mobile device you just click the box.

Okay, Sara! It worked! Thanks!

No problem. Glad I could help.

Lila, it was so giid to have one vof your lively recaps tobread with my morning coffee.

It is another beautiful day here on my real patio. ...80, sunny, and a light breeze. I cannot believe that August is almost over. I just put my fall wreath on the front door and neighboring fields are filled with pumpkins .

Oh you guys know that love stories often revolve around the leading lady taming the warrior even if his field of battle is the board room. Pretty soon Fifi will have Petulant Pedro high on life... spread some sugar on me.

I like Benito's parents, but I wish that they would dial back the enthusiasm just a smidge. That voice of dad's..ack. What is up with his mom's hairdo? And could Benito's pompadour get any higher?

I am still very confused about the vultures. It is hard for me to distinguish them from each other. They all just seem to sit around drinking and waiting for...something..their shares of the wealth??? Evidently Pedro is The Little Red who plants the grain, picks it,grinds it into flour, and bakes it into a delicious loaf of bread, and they are the layabouts who refuse to help him until it is time to eat the bread! AS IF ! I'd be a pretty grumpy , humorless, suspicious stuffed shirt , too.Just wait until Fifi introduces him to some joie de vivre .

I love Ben's mom too for standing up for the sisters like only a feeling mother could ( Of course this time they are not related in blood but I always love these kind of caring characters despite it being an old old tactic.) and his dad is hilarious but his voice sucks. Is it the actor's fault or did they make him sound like that on purpose?

Pedro's personality was inflicted by the long term influence by his past and his overbearing wounded family. It doesnt fix it but Fiorella will definetly teach him the essence of love once again .But that will take lots of alchohol , chill-pills , unresponded calls and often blank confessions to a wall of bricks!

tofie, thanks for the updates on your adventures :D

David, I agree Benito isn't trying to get something out of not telling Vito where the girls are, I just don't like that he's taking that decision out of Vito's hands. Vito's a grown man. Let him face his disappointments.

Countx, we haven't heard anything about when Tania started drinking or why, but she is clearly an alcoholic and that has nothing to do with Pedro. Once she starts drinking, she can't stop herself. It's unfair to blame him for that, considering that if it were up to him, she wouldn't be drinking. The context of the Joker saying "Let's put a smile on that face" is one of violence. It seems out of place here.

Lila, that maybe a flaw in Eloisa's surveillance plan. If Dante can put the cameras on a loop he can keep her from seeing what's really going on.

Susanlynn- you make me feel validated this morning. I do like Adela and Ray's enthusiasm, but for now it looks like maybe they are trying too hard?

When Benito was Roy on AV he had a high pompadour and I swear there were lifts in his heels. At the time I thought maybe it was too keep him from looking short when next to Eiza Gonzalez. Maybe they are using the hairstyle for the same reason here.

I do hope he and Gianna get together. I think they would be cute.

Lifts in his tennis shoes. Sorry.

Susanlynn - I'm looking out my window and all I see is rain and all I hear is thunder. Please enjoy your patio a little extra for me. I could use some sunshine ;-)

Hey, Susanlynn! I love this:

love stories often revolve around the leading lady taming the warrior even if his field of battle is the board room. Pretty soon Fifi will have Petulant Pedro high on life... spread some sugar on me.

and your take on the vultures and Pedro is perfect! He IS The Little Red Hen! That's great! And I like Fifi as a nickname. . Fiorella sounds so heavy and Fio sounds Feo but Fifi fits her perfectly! I shoulda thunked it: I have a niece nick named Fifi! And I'll call Gianna, Gigi!

Hey, Diva, I do remember Dante saying that he had control over the cameras and he appears to do that with a little hand held remote. . . .so he's got the POW-WAH! Does he just let the cameras run interfered with unless he and Federica are plotting? I guess so. Suddenly not getting a feed from the cameras would be too noticeable.

Gosh. Wonder what happened to Sergio's wife? I'm talking to myself but here's a question if someone can help me:

What is the relationship between Sergio and Federica. Brother and sister? Or was Federica married to one of Eloisa's sons? Or has Federica said whether or not she was ever married?

Who is Federica's father, is he the late brother of the dead Patriarch, Eloisa's husband? If so, I guess that makes her and Sergio first cousins?

I guess I should go back and re-watch. It's only 4 episodes!

*does he let the cameras run UNinterefered with. . . .

Sara.. you will be happy to know that my lazy self (uhoh, Am I a vulture wannabe?) Has been sitting on the glider on this patio reading the paper, checking my tablet for email and caray updates, and Outlander YouTube videos (yowza)..is it getting hotter?..just me ,then??) I am not The Little Red Hen today except for hanging out laundry and reading the chapter on Comparative Essays in my new textbook. Sorry about your rain. It has been dry here lately , so we could use some rain, but I prefer it when I am working and in a windowless office or classroom.

I believe that in AV , NIkki's Boytoy (Benito) often sported fashion donts..like high heeled sneakers and very red pants...plus the sky high hair.

Tofie..How is your traveling going? Have you found any interesting crossbody bags? Are folks in SE Asia wearing ponytails or braids these days ? I have two students from Vietnam this semester and one from China. The majority of my students this semester are from Syria.

Lila, I have a cousin Vivian who looks a lot like me (dark hair and eyes) whom the family called Fifi . (The family lived in Holland for a few years and the Dutch called her Fifian..thus Fifi.

La Diva I am sorry that the Joker phrase insulted you, it was meant as a joke. With Pedro's person I immediatly started saying in my head " Why so Serious?" so I put it up as an avatar LOL.

Dante and Federica do seem to be plotting something but I don't think it is functioning since Loisa "Big Dragon" managed to see the bickering live as it happened so either Loisa managed to fix it or Dante is playing both sides for his own interests. That plotpoint seems to be confusing hmm. Federica appears to be Sergio's niece and daughter of some stranger that was the Dragon's blood . The Vultures so far are very estranged from the family, that is why they are drinking away and counting the clocks till Pedro arrives so that they could receive something of worth.

"Weigh in on Benito, y'all!" Lila, I dunno. Clearly he works hard--I don't think he's exaggerating when he says the restaurant runs thanks to him. On top of that he's also being his boss' personal assistant and court jester. He's nice to his parents, which is a big plus for me. He does seem to care about Vittorio, even though he thinks he's the better judge of what's best for him. He's obviously smitten with Gianna, but if that's ever going to go anywhere he pretty much HAS to tell Vittorio that he found the girls. Maybe it's just overprotectiveness, and if that's his worst fault, it's not that bad, as things go. If this is about retaining control of the restaurant by keeping a short leash on his boss, then he loses me.

"What do y'all think of Sergio?" Still mourning his wife and lacking the skills to deal with it. I would have thought that was common ground for him and Eloisa. She was talking about feeling like half of her was ripped out after her husband's death. Sergio seems to understand how that feels. But I think I got hints of something more, like it wasn't just her dying, but something about the way she died. I'd really like him never to get behind the wheel of a car ever again, since it seems like his default setting is "drunk."

Sara, I think Federica was wearing something from the Early Prudencia Spring Collection. I do love a flowy top!

lol, Susanlynn, I'm loving your description of Petulant Pedro, the Warrior of the Boardroom!

Pedro's personality not Pedro's person*

Lila..I have no idea how any of these people are related and still do not have the names straight for the wastrels in The Vulture Club.

Lila, Dante's explanation to Federica was that he can make the cameras show footage from the previous minute over and over again. Which makes sense, but if he's going to do that, he needs to start it *before* he comes in view of the camera and then turn it off *after* he's out of sight again. The way he did it, it would have looked like he and Federica were there, then disappeared, then reappeared walking away. Beanie moment!

All they said about Sergio's wife is that she died while Pedro was young, but nothing more. That would be one of the mysteries of the family, I suppose.

Countx, I'm not insulted, I'm just giving you feedback.

Kat, I have been pretty much preoccupied with warriors since Outlander ended a few months ago and we fans of the show have been enduring Droughtlander with no end in sight until season two starts sometime around spring 2015. We all have our own addictions.
Alcoholism seems to be a prominent tgemnevin this tn...Tania and Sergio are both drinking a lot. As they say, the person who is addicted has to touch bottom to finally want change. One of my best friends is finding this out with her ex-daughter-in-law , and our ex-son-in-law has multiple problems in this area...a tragic situation for everyone surrounding the addicted person. Is Sergio Pedro's father ? If so, Pedro is dealing with both avfstger and girlfriend with drinking problems. No wonder he seems so joyless, cranky, negative and suspicious. It could also be the cause of his immersion in his work.

...that was supposed to be "theme in ". ..I must remember to proofread..sorry.

I am not trying to make light of alcoholism, but I swear the Tania's bottle said Chuck Daniel. But then my eyes have always been bad.

And La Diva about Tania, I believe that even if she was a terrible actress armed with scandals Pedro's harsh treatment kind of influenced her depression thus worsening her addiction to greater levels. He may feel isolated by his snakish, overbearing "family" but he is no angel. In the end he comes out as someone who likes his position and job more than the love of his life because he doesnt have the balls to give up everything for her. As someone said, he should open up a Taco stand and just live off on his own LOL.

Susanlynn, absolutely! When it comes to work, he's in control--well, other than his stupid cousin screwing things up, but even then, he fixed it. When it comes to Sergio and Tania, he has zero control. He can't make either of them stop drinking. He can encourage Tania to get sober, but he can't want it more than she does. She has to want it for herself.

Sara, is that what it was?! I knew it wasn't "Jack Daniels" unless the company paid for product placement.

Count, the same could be said of the family--instead of living off the money provided by the work Pedro does to keep the company thriving, and waiting for inheritance money none of them earned, they could also get out, get jobs, go do something independent. I disagree that Pedro likes his position more than his girlfriend (but no, she's surely not the love of his life!). He comes off more as being obligated because of all the lazy leeches the company profits have to support. If he walks, the entire family goes broke. That's a lot of responsibility. It's not just a matter of him choosing Tania over them, nor would that cure her alcoholism...all the same people who hate him now would be ripping him apart even worse for "ruining" the family. And it wouldn't bode well for him trying to start over somewhere else. He'd be "That guy who abandoned the family business and left them all to starve." Not good PR!

I want to know exactly how Pedro came to the conclusion that his grandma would never accept Tania because she's not "of their social circle." Is this something Eloisa has told him repeatedly? Did he see someone else in the family bring home an "unsuitable" partner and get kicked to the curb? Did he bring home a girlfriend and have grandma totally trash her?

I would add to what I said above about the entire family going broke if Pedro walks away from the company--the company itself and all its employees would be out of jobs. It was remiss of me not to think about that! Do we still have no idea what the company actually does?

Pedro isn't in love with Tania, but he definitely seems to feel obligated to taking care of her needy self. ...a reflection of real life, for sure, when the addicted person clings to someone to help them. Whatever would I do without you? Enabling much, Pedro?

I missed the bottle of Chuck Daniels ! Ha.. Didn't we have a tn in which we were listing all the liquors named after guys?..Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, Jose Cuervo.

La Diva yeah the fact that the family could go broke is bad PR too. But I still think Pedro could have shown more love to Tania, he treated her like acid on the trip and she was not drinking at the time.

Well considering that the Leeches hate Loisa with a big passion , Pedro must have gotten the impression that anything upsetting would cause friction with his dominative Grandma. He has not even given himself the chance to prove if his fears are correct. The leeches could have gotten jobs but since everyone believes that rich people do not need to work it kind of sticked to them. And who knows what lives do they have outside of house. Most likely not good ones.

Pedro is defintely the ant in this nest of grasshoppers. He is the drone, the worker bee in this hive of wannabe queen bees.

I'm not unsympathetic to Tania. She needs help, and maybe more than AA can provide. But actually going to the meetings and getting herself a sponsor to call (instead of calling Pedro all the time!) when she's tempted to drink would be a very good start!

I think the list of liquors named after guys was something to do with Pru. Sounds like her anyway!

Thanks, CountX. . .I'd be surprised if Dante is NOT playing both sides!

Diva, Benito as trying to protect either the girls, or his boss, Vito, yah, that's cool but agree that If this is about retaining control of the restaurant by keeping a short leash on his boss, then he loses me.

Agree that Sergio and Eloisa do not link over the painful loss of spouses but then Eloisa doesn't seem to link to anybody over anything. She seeems to feel the brilliance of her late husband skipped a generation and alighted itself upon Pedro.

Susanlynn, I think I will have to go back and look. . . or be lazy and let time reveal it!

No, the list of men's names for liquor was not something we did for Sombras. It was for an earlier tn. We always have some kind of fun. For LM, it was all the "dam" adjectives for Damian the gala ..Dam gorgeous, Damdazzled, etc!

Tk you so much Lila, terrific recap. I realize I am very lax in my thank yous.

If Benito didn't trust the girls, he wouldn't want them in his parents house. I think it is more like saving the old fool from himself, although it is not his decision to make.

Jose Ron is meh to me & so far this role isn't helping.

Hey, Variopinta, good point about Benito and the girls. It's not going to work for him when Don Vitto finds out. I wonder how long they're going to string this along!

I hope Benito fesses up before Don Vito pays the PI for doing any work.

sara, that's the conversation I was remembering at least. I sound like I have an obsession with booze. I swear, I enjoy it in moderation!

Susanlynn, we do indeed have fun. Ohhhh that we do!

Lila, heeeeeey!!! Liked your recap.
Don't you just love a screwed up disfunctional family on TV? All the greed, backbiting, backstabbing, lying, manipulating, biting, biting, and more stabbing, and some don't even bother with the back part, just go strait For the juggular.
Pedro should watch his back. these people are brutal, especially if the old guy left all the money to him. I'm not saying he did, but you know how these things go. maybe that's why Pedro Is so...... I don't know, short fused he seems to have a chip on his shoulder every time we see him. he's got the responsibility of keeping everything in order and then he was yelling at osvaldo the other day for messing up that Italian deal, so the man's got a lot on his shoulders not to mention an alcoholic girlfriend. O what a happy time around the holiday table.
And fiorella, isn't there a fairytale person by that name? anyways this ain't no fairytale.
maybe if Benito finds out about Gianna's heart condition he'll tell Vittorio so he can help them, help her rather. What is benito up to anyway? I'm sure we'll find out, secrets and everything.

Susanlynn, depends where you are with the hair style but not many braids unless they are young school girls. Seen a lot of red dye jobs in Japan, Korea and Thailand. Lots of Chinese tourist all over who seem immune to the influence of K Pop star and anime influenced hair dos.

Headed into Burma today with a friend. She's a principal of a primary school in Mae Chan, Thailand I met when we literally help build a library and toilets at her school almost a decade ago.

Ok so, I'm caught up now and after the first week, even though its only a short week, I'm in - probably will be behind more than half the time but I'm in. Thanks recappers Diva, Princess Juju, sara, & Lila for your translations - I love the Italian and even the fake Italian accents but it does make it harder to understand, ya'll are awesome! Loving the titles "Volare Woe Woe" and "Muchacha Italiana viene a seguirme"

I sort of agree with David and Diana on Benito, but
I think mostly Benito is trying to protect Don Vito till he can find out more about the girls - he doesn't know why they havent contacted Vito yet ( he didn't get that part of the story) and maybe he'll start sounding Fiorella out about older men to see where she's at with that, but I think he definitely will tell, eventually.
Diva I laughed out loud at your "Scam artists who end up living with his parents and cleaning apartments are probably doing it wrong."

Ok I'd like to state for the record that Pedro is a grumpy jerk, but in his defense its not paranoia if people are actually having you followed (which is happening, its just not his grandma like he thinks, also if he thinks that's something she'd do I believe him, and like her less) and if he took Tania to meet his family they'd eat her alive. Those people would rip her apart and totally sabotage any sobriety she managed to start on if they even knew of her existence, just to get at Pedro.

CountxAlacran - the actor who play's Benito's father's voice is just like that, I saw him in Cachito and it sounded the same but I think he talked slower in that so it was easier to understand

Nina! Hey, girl! I knew it was you before I got to the bottom!

Don't you just love a screwed up disfunctional family on TV? All the greed, backbiting, backstabbing, lying, manipulating, biting, biting, and more stabbing, and some don't even bother with the back part, just go strait For the juggular.

Hee Hee! Yah, girl. We ain't seen nothin' yet. You make a good point here:

maybe if Benito finds out about Gianna's heart condition he'll tell Vittorio so he can help them, help her rather

Yes, because at the hospital, right within earshot of Fifi, Ray asked Adela to think about the cost of all the loving-kindness she was letting flow to the girls. Gigi's heart condition is very serious. It seems she's on a therapeutic razor's edge with her meds. Not only can she not miss them, she can't even be late and the Dr. at the clinica said she needs some kind of procedure. I don't think Adela and Ray, even with Benito's help can pay for that kind of medical care.

Yep, lots of secrets to come out!

Tofie! Wow! What a rewarding adventure! Be safe, hon! Thanks for checking in with us!

Sneakyyyyyyyy! Yay! Oh, seeing you here reminds me of our Quiero Amarte days! Welcome to the Patio. Love what you said about Pedro. I know I'm one of the ones who called him paranoid but in the high stakes world of running a whatever kind of business with a bunch of hyaenas as family, well, he does get followed and we see Grammy has the whole house under surveillance, so good point.

I like this, too: if he took Tania to meet his family they'd eat her alive. Those people would rip her apart and totally sabotage any sobriety she managed to start on if they even knew of her existence, just to get at Pedro.

That is sooo true! Gosh, I love all these different points of view on our characters and we've only had four shows! This is going to be a great Patio! Thank you Sneaky!

Yeah Lila, I agree that this show does have potential because it has such mystery, suspense, comedy and bonds. Nothing is more cute than a faulty prince right? I suppose Fiorella will have to work hard to awaken the love inside of him without turning sour and joyless herself. Then there is THAT family. I could see Gael, Sergio and Roxana redeemed ( They are just having issues, they are not evil) but doubt it for Sonia, Osvaldo and Federica. Dante is still a mystery though.

I didn't understand the frantic boob (escote) adjustment by the two younger women when granny made her appearance. There wasn't any lead in or follow up to this that I understood. Does granny have a dress code or neck line requirement?

With all the disparate, greedy people sequestered at the family mansion, if one of them winds up murdered maybe Angela Lansbury could show up and solve the crime.

David

David...Yes, I am getting a Murder, She Wrote vibe..or perhaps Falcon Crest or Dynasty with all the scheming relatives.

Susanlynn...Or "Dallas." We could have an episode entitled "Who Shot Pedro."

David

Morning' y'all. David, I saw Roxanne try to pull down her tube top but I missed the other adjustment. It is no doubt that among Granny Eloisa's other criticisms of the female vultures there is a complaint that their attire is inappropriate, too common or maybe even provocative. They probably reflexively do boob and hemline checks whenever she appears. If Granny didn't know it before, she has heard that Pedro is the object of some lustful fantasy, if not outright plans for seduction so she will probably really get on their cases now!

Uh, their business, he's dead, and not something I care to think about!

Lila- Fabulous recap of an episode I'm looking forward to seeing eventually. And great comments too! So many wonderful comments, that I really have noting to add.

I do think Pedro has fallen into the same pattern with Tania as he has with his dependent family. Support them, pay their expenses, but keep them at arm's length and don't get too emotionally involved. I do think his attitude about Tania's alcoholism is likely very affected by his father's similar issue. (And no, I don't think Pedro is responsible for Tania' s alcoholism.) I'm glad to hear/read that Sergio at least is supportive of Pedro, but surprised no one has brought up the fact that he was a deadbeat father who abandoned his child on the doorstep of he parents. Sure, he was dealing with his grief over his wife's death, but he should have put his child first. I'm sure Pedro has all kind of issues around being abandoned like that.

Thank you, Vivi I don't know if my attention was drawn elsewhere or if it's my Spanish but I totally missed this and SO appreciate you pointing it out:

he was a deadbeat father who abandoned his child on the doorstep of he parents. Sure, he was dealing with his grief over his wife's death, but he should have put his child first.

Wow! So Sergio's wife, Pedro's mother died when he was an infant or little child? Man! I DO need to go back and rewatch!

Thank you, my dear!

Well this is a fairly estranged family but I believe Sergio did let Pedro know that he cannot live with him anymore because of his state. So he thought his best by keeping the child at Grandma's care. Hope that we will learn about their story in future episodes. Of course this left Pedro with deep scars and with all the vultures and mean Grandma piling up the crap all of it has in consequence affected his love life. Tania may not have started drinking exclusively because of him but its silly to think that Pedro's roughness and deserving paranoia did not damage her self esteem further.

You're welcome, Lila. This is from Kat's great recap of episode one:

"He's sure she [Eloisa] has plenty of reason to live. Well, really just one--her grandson Pedro. He runs the company and he lost his mother when he was a child. And his dad's a total loser. So Eloisa and Maximo (her dead husband) raised him."

Thanks, Vivi, for the quote from Diva's recap. Looks like I have some homework to do: reviewing episodes AND the recaps!

Count, yah, a lot to learn in the future. I've got to keep my ears peeled but thank goodness for the Patio. I can't imagine watching this alone!

I want to know is how come Fiorella has not even guess that her father's friend could be around the same age as her dad? I mean the way her dad spoke of him being an old friend made me think he was old before I saw Vitto. I mean Fio is 23 so that means her dad helped Vitto way back before she was born, no? Her dad said so in telling the story of their friendship. Anyway, beanie moment. Thanks for the recap. I have no problem with Benito not revealing the info about the girls.
Romy

Finally watching the episode. One note of correction-- Gaianna deleted Fiorella's email account (cuenta de correo/email). Which is why after Fifi got the error message while trying to sign into her account and confronted Gianna, we then zipped over to Vito who is pondering why he's getting a bounceback message that "the account doesn't exist" when he sends a message to Fifi, and wonders if she really is a swindler (therefor erasing her account after scamming him).

I think Tania's problem, among others, is low self-esteem. If she really loved herself, she wouldn't need Pedro's validation, and she would have dumped his butt long ago. And precisely for that reason, if she weren't obsessing over Pedro presenting her publicly and to his family, she'd be obsessing over her failing acting career (maybe she should), or something else.

Thanks and welcome, Romy! Romy, I just don't know why Fifi hasn't figured out her dad's friend must be his age mate. I guess with the stress of his dying, Gigi's continued and worsening health and her being fired, leaving them without any income. . .yah, as someone said, a lot on her plate. And ok, another vote for Benito keepin the girl's whereabouts secret.

Hmmmm. What does that say about me identifying with an old codger? ;D

Thanks for the correction on the email situation, Vivi. Since these recaps stand as a reference for viewers, I'll go back and correct that when I get the chance!

This is what I've picked up on the family tree so far of the Ángeles family. Seems that Eloisa and Max must have had at least one child die (missing, locked away somewhere?) to explain the existence of these other grandkids. Which makes me wonder why Eloisa thinks losing her husband is the worse thing that's happened to her. If she lost a child (at least one), shouldn't that be the worse thing? Or is her life only Max and Pedro, and no one else is worth a fig?

Eloisa de Ángeles (widow of Maximo)
Federica Ángeles (daughter of the brother of Maximo/Maximo and Eloisa’s niece)
Sergio Ángeles (son of Maximo and Eloisa/father of Pedro)
Pedro Ángeles (son of Sergio/grandson of Max and Eloisa)
Osvaldo Ángeles (grandson of Max and Eloisa/son of ?)
Sonia de Ángeles (wife of Osvaldo)
Gael Ángeles (grandson of Max and Eloisa/son of ?)
Roxana Ángeles (adopted granddaughter of Max and Eloisa/likely the child of Joaquina the maid—but who are raised her as her parents?)

OMG! Pedro is paranoid! Made me chuckle at your title though, Lila. Just brilliant. :)

Thank you, Vivi!!! I may have to copy and paste that family info for a quick reference for the next couple weeks.

Thanks, Vivi! I knew my peeps would come through! Yah, I'm going to save it, too!

@Lila, thank you for the welcome. I know poor Fiorella her cup runneth over with so much problems. Pedro is a grouch. What was his intention when he got in Fifi's face? Thanks Vivi for the family tree of the vampires clan.
Romy

Finally had a chance to get caught up! Vivi, thank you for the family tree. Sara, cool avatar--it looks like Vito's window!

That's a good point Romy. Of course, I kind of had trouble with the Dad being as old as he was (the actor is 82.) That's kind of ageist of me though.

Wait, didn't Vito send a young picture of himself?

I still don't like Benito keeping things from Vito, but I think I'm more bothered that I don't know WHY.

Romy, I don't know why Pedro was getting all up in Fifi's face. She looked understandably a little frightened!

That IS a cool avatar, Sara, the predominance of blue is right purty! Sara, I'm glad your bothered by Benito keeping things from Vito: I don't feel so alone!

And, yep, Vito sent a young picture of himself!

It's just so early and I don't know exactly where Vito and Benito stand. Benito is saying a lot of things about the girls that could make Vito mad enough to "go bad."

Am I making sense?

Ok. And the fact that Enrique Rocha tends to play bad guys doesn't help.

Wait, maybe it's a GOOD thing Benito is hiding them.

Now I've confused myself.

I guess it's not totally surprising to me that Fiorella might not consider that Vito is her dad's age. Mario and Vito both mentioned that Mario helped Vito go to Mexico, which sounds like something feasible for an older man to do for a younger one. Plus neither of them ever said when this happened, so that's not giving Fiorella any clues.

BUT...

Why didn't she Google him? I'm sure there were probably news articles or some such about Restaurateur Vittorio Dragone out there, and probably with more current photos!

Yes sara you are makeing sense. Why Is benito being secretive about the pretty girls whereabouts.
Maybe he wants to make sure they aren't golddiggers.....or

I think it was very uncool of Benito to keep the info from the girls and from Vito, especially after he found out what a bad situation the girls were in.

Gianna was definitely smitten by Benito when they met. I think he was too busy trying to figure out how to cover his but to notice how cute she is.

well, it will be interesting to see whether the characters of Vito and Nito are good or bad. As to the age difference, I have some friends and relatives who are 8 to 10 years younger than their spouses , but 60 years is quite a chasm.

Sara...Love your new icon. It reminds me of the gorgeous peacock wandering unrestricted around an amusement park that our family went to this summer on Toronto Island. The color blue was unwordly and amazing. I followed it around and took more pictures of that bird than of my family!!

My Abuelo was 16 years older than my grandmother. Still nowhere near a 60 year difference!

Susanlynn - the image of you following and taking pictures of a peacock has me giggling. The blues are amazing aren't they? Perfect subjects for stained glass!

Lol, Vivi, "Gianna was definitely smitten by Benito when they met. I think he was too busy trying to figure out how to cover his but to notice how cute she is." I took him for a much better multi-tasker than that! He was pretty insistent that they needed to stay with his parents, but I can't make out whether that's a good sign or a bad sign. It's smart either way--to know exactly where to find them later, whatever he intends to do.

Sara your icon is beautiful. That blue dazzels
The Eyes. Gorgeous!!! You remind me of myself walkin around takeing pictures of pretty flowers. My phone is full of photos of
Flowers.
Benito would be perfect for giana.

Thank you Nina! :-)

I'm always taking pictures of flowers too!

Kindred spirits, Nina and Sarah! MY phone is full of pictures of flowers! I use these for my phone's wallpaper. That's funny!

Yay, it's Monday! (I can't believe I just said that...and meant it!)

Never question happiness, Diva!

:D

Hey..I am always taking photos of flowers , too. Usually ai take photos of the flowers in my garden , but I also photograph any bouquets that I receive.

Isn't it fun, Susanlynn! I'm not anything near professional and only use my phone but it makes so much sense to take photos of bouquets you received! One Valentine's Day the bouquet Mr. Lila got me was just exceptionally exquisite -- roses and baby's breath and such -- I must have taken over 50 pix of it. Makes for gorgeous wallpaper and sweet memories!
