Amores Con Trampa #115 and #116 Monday & Tuesday 9/7/15 and 9//8/16

Looks like Esteban is getting a little anvil action early. And dare I make a conjecture? Will Maria and Rocio save them all?

Maria tells Jacinto and Susana that she is going to forgive Facundo. They are thrilled.

Unfortunately, when Maria goes to meet with Facundo La Pantera has got him in a compromising position. It’s horse crap. No, literally. She stepped in horse crap. (I believe Fac later called it calabaza de caballo) He chases after Maria. He falls and gets run over by a burro.

Meanwhile in the DF, Rocio has returned. She had been staying at the boutique. Carmen, studying in the Carmona dining room sees the homecoming from the window. She runs right over to the Velascos and tells Rocio that Maria has left for the country and it’s all Rocio’s fault. Florencio decides maybe he and Isa better cancel the trip to his rancho.

Pelancha is glued to the set and tonight’s episode of AI3. The doorbell rings. Feli sarcastically tells her he’ll get the door, don’t get up. Clueless, Pelancha thanks him and tells him to be careful. There have been a lot of assaults in the neighborhood. It’s Francis. [There goes the Francis Free episode streak...Where is Diego?] Francis wants to go to the movies with Feli. The last thing Feli wants to do is go to the movies with Francis.

Jacinto and Susana are on a hunger strike because Maria didn’t get back together with Fac. Maria sends them off to their rooms. Humilde hears a car. Perpetua thinks maybe it’s Fac and Maria says not to let him in. It’s Carmen and Rocio. Rocio heard about Maria’s problems with Fac. She insists that none of this is Fac’s fault.

Francis starts a berrinche accusing Feli of wanting to be with Hilda. Mauricio arrives and inserts himself into the conversation. He’ll go to the movies with Francis. He’s a moviemaker and she could be his Marilyn Monroe or Scarlett Johanssen. Francis looks very interested. Feli drags him off Francis. Isa has heard the bit about Hilda and asks Feli about it. Isa doesn’t think Hilda is good enough for Feli. Isa doesn’t want Feli to get his heart broken. Mauricio keeps talking about Francis. She was cute. Can you introduce her to me?

Martina tends to Fac’s foot/ankle. Fac explains how he got into the burro accident. Fac just wants to got to see Maria, but Porfirio tells him to wait until tomorrow.

Rocio tries to make Maria see that everything is Esteban’s fault. He was the one that bought the tickets. Maria insists it’s not just the ticket. Fac has been a dunderhead over and over again. Isa, Estefy and now that other bleach blonde. Carmen explains how sad Fac has been. She begs her mother to forgive Fac. Carmen gives up and wants to drive back to the DF. Perpetua and Maria refuse to let them go.

Fac calls Beto. He tells him about the burro accident. Beto worries because he’s supposed to be taking care of his dad. Fac tells Beto to take care of the empresa. He’s abandoned it lately. Beto thinks Fac should come home first thing in the morning. Esteban wants Fac at the office for something important. He didn’t tell him what, though. Fac is worried.

Ale, exercise and Lala product placement.

Rocio is worried that everything is her fault. Maria assures her it’s not. Maria asks if Rocio has seen her parents and siblings. Rocio saw her parents, not her siblings. She wants to talk to them in person. And Beto? Rocio is worried that he’s still furious. Maria tells her he’s worried.

Esteban demands that Isa come to his office and 12 the next day or he will ruin the fake happiness she has with her family.

Panzon and Florencio discuss Maria and Isa. Florencio can’t stop thinking about Isa. But he’s still got it bad for Maria too. Panzon thinks Florencio should really just give up that dream. Just like Florencio couldn’t stop loving Maria, Maria can’t stop loving Fac. Florencio isn’t so sure. He’s got a feeling that either Maria or Isa will end up at his side. Okaaay.

Beto and Fac show up at the Grupo Carmona offices. Fac is surprised to learn Esteban is in his office. He goes in there and punches Esteban. Esteban tells Fac he’s an idiot. He totally believed that the investors from Monterrey were legit. They weren’t and now the business belongs to Esteban. He tells Fac to leave.

Breakfast with the Velascos. Isa is going to go out for a bit. Santi will follow. FFd.

Fac can’t figure out what’s going on. For Esteban to own the business, they would have had to sell it. Esteban calls for security. He explains that he didn’t need a lot of money, just friends. He’s been controlling the board blah blah blah (Sorry, I never pay attention to board room talk.) Fac argues that Esteban would need a signature and Fac never signed anything. We get a flashback to the day that Fac was trying to hard to get to the dance contest and Esteban was having him sign stacks and stacks of paper. There was a power of attorney in the reams of paper. Beto can’t believe his dad signed without reading...again. Fac doesn’t remember. Security comes and drags them out. Esteban gloats.

Maria and Rocio want to talk to Carmen. They are launching a line of fashions designed by Rocio and they want Carmen in charge. Carmen is excited. But she asks if Maria is just doing it to get on her good side or because she really has faith that Carmen can do it. Maria says both, but mainly she things Carmen can do it.

Fac and Beto wonder what they are going to do. Maria is going to have a fit. Beto tells Fac to remember, neither God nor the Virgencita will abandon them. Beto asks his dad if he’s crying. Fac denies it. Machos don’t cry. Ni lagrimeamos (We don’t even tear up.)

The secretary tends to Esteban’s punched cheek. She does not have a gentle touch. She didn’t look very happy about Esteban being in charge, either. He tells her to go get him more ice, tell the workers about the new boss and to let him know if Isa arrives.

Isa does arrive and is told Esteban is in the president’s office. The secretary gives nothing away, even after Isa finds it odd that Esteban is in there. Isa offers the secretary pills for stomach cramps telling her not to take them with whisky(?) The secretary refuses. Santi looks on and wonders why Isa is going to see Esteban.

Isa is ushered into the office. Isa tells him not to call her house threatening her as if he was boss and owner of the business. Esteban tells her he is, in fact, the new owner. Santi bursts in. ¿Quééééé? Esteban says he’s the owner a couple more times.

The A Cousins try to steal a goat and a chicken. The goat finally gets put down, but I worry about the chicken. Fac drives up with his parents in the car. The calls of “Facundo” and “Maria” commence.

Santi yells at Esteban some more. Esteban tells Isa he did all of it to impress Isa. He wanted to show her he was a winner so she would leave her mediocre husband. Santi punches Esteban. Esteban calls him a loser. Santi punches him again.

Florencio comes in on this chaos. Esteban shows them all the the papers that say Esteban owns it all. Because it wasn’t crazy enough, Estefy arrives and sees the papers. She gives Esteban a victory hug.

Facundo.

Maria.

Facundo.

Maria…..

Finally they get down to talking and Fac tries to explain what was really going on with La Pantera. Maria notices Martina. They are happy to meet each other. Smiles and hugs.

Esteban gets a little rough with Estefy and Florencio punches him too. Florencio reminds them (and me) that he’s still an associate of the company. Florencio needs to talk to Isa about some things. The two of them leave. Santi calls Esteban a liar and says he will regret this. He storms out. Estefy tell Esteban he looks better than ever.

Fac wants to talk to Maria. He thinks she’s just having another berrinche. He wants to tell her something but he notices she’s not wearing her ring. Maria tells him she took it off. This is not just some temper tantrum she’s having.

Avances: Fac and Santi team up against Esteban.

Sara, you are so good and so fast. Maybe María and Rocío can save them all.

Yes, to:
interesting expression that you Sara mentioned: calabaza de caballo.

Esteban sure looked liked he had been hit by early anvils provided by Facundo, Santiago and Florencio. He sure seemed to turn Estefany on in his bloodied state. Of course maybe she was just giddy thinking how close she is to getting it all the money for herself as she has planned!!!

we knew Facundo wasn't looking at what he signed one more time.

Rocío was at the shop one more time and nobody looked there one more time.

María was right to send the "striking" children to their rooms.

I liked Humilde, Perpétua, María, Susana and Jacinto going after the Amarripa brothers with the brooms and Jacinto hanging on one of the brother's legs like a dog with a bone.

it was good a good idea for Carmen and Rocío not to drive back to the city at night.

to María-Facundo/María-Facundo.

to Martina finally meeting María.

NO, to:
Facundo being shocked María was not wearing her wedding ring. It is as if he still does not realize how far he has pushed her. Somehow I think he is going to try to make her feel guilty for the whole mess of his shortcomings and her "ring less" response.

Another good one.

Thanks for the recap, chica!

Thanks Jarifa! I wonder what these final chapters will bring us.

Florencio can't let go of Isa.

Maria and Rocío are launching a fashion line.

Esteban has the business.

Fac lost the business.

And still no hint that they are going to wrap up the mystery surrounding Rocío.

Francis and Mauricio would be a hoot together.

Sara, sure agree about Mauricio and Francis. She looked interested. If she glommed on to him that would sure take her out of Felipe and Carmen's hair and make her happy.

Then we have the whole revenge plot with La Pantera. Should make for an exciting couple of weeks.

Between watching "Cuna de Lobos" (yes, I am blaming you for getting me hooked on that. : ) And can understand why you like it so much ) and the "Gallo" movie, I wanted to see what the actor who plays granpappy Porfirio (Ignacio López Tarso) had done in his earlier years so I watched "Pedro Páramo" (1955) where he had a major role. It was an interesting movie and he was excellent in the drama. Also, I saw several episodes of "Lichita" and am hooked. Love it and cannot wait!

I'm so glad you are liking Cuna de Lobos. It is quite a ride.

I am so glad you've peeked and seen some of Lichita!! I am pretty excited about it too.

Was Pedro Páramo on YouTube or Netflix or...? I would like to see it too!

I spent the weekend helping to find the posts that had been copied and pasted from Caray and passed off as original work elsewhere (Don't get me started on how frustrating it is to see your own recap being passed off as someone else's.) Anyhoodle...Pedro Páramo came up a couple years ago on the Telemundo thread for En Otra Piel (if I recall correctly.) Someone had read it for a class. I knew I had the book, but when I looked I only had the English translation. Needless to say, I've ordered a copy in Spanish.

I also located and dusted off my copy of Malinche.

When's the first meeting of the Caray Book Club and which one shall we read? ;-)

Funny you should mention Netflix, I just got it this a.m. because the new season of "Longmire" will be out 9/10. I will have to explore the telenovelas available, too. I saw "Pedro" on YouTube. I still have my copy from many moons ago. We could have quite a Caray book club, couldn't we? So much to read, so much to watch, not enough time! Glad you are looking forward to Lichita.mIt is very bright and colorful: must be that 4K. Funny you mentioned it and that is all I heard about with reference to "Gallo" and the shopping channels yesterday. Too funny.

More for the Ignacio Tarso Lopez Chapter of the Caray Book and Film Club- Macario

http://m.imdb.com/title/tt0054042/

And yes I already have my copy of the book... Somewhere.

Thanks for the Macario link.

Sara, thanks. This was a fun episode and I enjoyed reliving it with your recap. Hilarious deadpan: He chases after Maria. He falls and gets run over by a burro. And this zinger: There goes the Francis Free episode streak...

Favorite scene: Maria pulling Carmen into her business with Rocio. I was afraid Carmen would start getting jealous of her mom’s closeness with Rocio. They want Carmen as the spokesmodel and face of the Rocio fashion brand. Yay, for girl power!

Florencio sure is daft. He’s interested in Isa but still wants Maria and will get one of the two? Nuts.

Not feeling sorry for Fac. Again he signs papers without reading them. But Maria taking off her ring is a big deal and he should be shook up about it. I just hope she can express to him what she’s feeling and what she needs.

Esteban looks like he’s going the way of many TN villains, BSC. I don’t think Estefany was turned on by Esteban bloodied and bruised. I’m thinking she was just blowing smoke and is still planning to taking everything from him in the end.

Niecie,

BSC indeed! Perfect description!

Totally agree Niecie. BSC. I hope it makes him vulnerable, but I'm not sure I want Fac to get the business back because seriously, has he really not learned to read anything before signing?

I hope we'get to see the launch of Maria and Rocio's new line. I'm so much more interested in Maria and Rocío than Isa and Santi.

But I still miss Diego!

Slow day on the patio I see. Lol. I have to admit, that for being 11 episodes (?) away from the Fin, the pacing seems a little weird. Like the are treading water but aren't as entertaining as they were with the dance contest.

Yup, a slow day. I cannot believe only 11 episodes left. Well, sooner or later things are going to have to fall into place for a happy ending for most and appropriate anvils for others. Do you think this will end with a wedding?

Maybe Porfirio and Martina renew vows. I don't want to see Rocio and Beto get married -- those two are not ready yet.

I feel the same way. Unless maybe we get a tiempo después and it's clear Rocío is OK with marriage. Maybe Francis and Mauricio? :D

I think it will be a Rocío and Beto wedding if there is one just due to the fact that she is back and has asked María about Beto already. She has also cleared Facundo's involvement in the ticket mess and conveniently is staying over at the Carmona's. Would be better if they were to wait but I think this will be part if the the typical "love conquers all" ending.

I'm still working on the La Vecina recap. The Amores recap might be a little late, or highly abbreviated, or up in the morning. Not sure which yet ;-)

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sara,
Sorry I am late, but I just read your recap and had to say thank you! It was very thorough and fun to read.

I have to agree that if there is a wedding at the end it's going to be Rocio and Beto. Although I really hope that it's Porfirio and Martina renewing their vows. Who knows, maybe Florencio is right and it will be him and Isa. Stranger things have happened. Plus I really want to know the mystery surrounding Rocio and her mother.

Thanks again Sara
Hasta Pronto!

p.s. I miss Diego too!

Thanks AuntyAnn! Glad you stopped by!

I'm about to work on some highlights. There were some cute things (and some annoying things) tonight.

Tonight on Tú decides….(Tuesday 9/8)

¿Lindo o Molestoso?

Please note: Scenes are wildly out of order and highly condensed

Fac apologizes to Maria and tells her he’s her husband, not her owner. He decides to “set her free”. [Recapper says: Molestoso. The current issue was not his being controlling. It never really has been. His idiocy with other women is the issue.]

Maria follows him out and they reconcile. He admits to losing the business. He enumerates the way he would kill himself if he lost Maria. She smiles and asks “you love me that much?” [Recapper says: Neither Lindo nor Molestoso. Kind of Macabro.]

Diego comes to see Carmen. [LINDO]

Diego confesses that he loves Carmen. [REALLY LINDO]

Carmen returns that love [SQUEEE LINDO]

Beto and Rocio make up. [Lindo]
The Velascos are glad that Rocio is back. Mauricio takes pictures with his phone. [Lindo I guess...but with a side of tonto.]

Carmen and Frederick discuss the fashion launch of Rocio’s designs. Beto has some lines, but all I remember is FREFRE [Lindo]

Estefy offers to help Esteban get Isa in exchange for a check with lots of zeros. [Latoso]

Florencio, Isa and Santi mumble about Esteban taking over the company and what they can do about it? Jokes about Florencio’s diction. [Latoso because of my lack of comprehension.]

Rocio tells Santi about the fashion launch she and Maria have planned. [Lindo]

Isa is eavesdropping. Mauricio catches her. She tells Mauricio it bothers her that Rocio tells Santi things. Isa is in crisis. Crisis de madre [Molsestoso. Too much shades of old Isa]

Fac and Maria return from SBeC. The family meets Martina [Molestoso, because she abandoned y’all and everything is ok???]

Conchita is jealous of Martina. Martina catches Porfirio flirting with Conchita [No opinion because I was actually in the kitchen half listening. Feel free to chime in on this scene.]

Fac tells Maria he will have a big surprise for her in the morning. [Lindo...because Maria looks happy.]

Santi offers to help Fac get the company back. Santi loves the company and he’d rather Fac have it than Esteban. [Lindo]

La Pantera de Ojos Grises shows Florencio the rancho she will use to exact her revenge on Maria, Perpetua and Fac. Florencio tries to dissuade her. She’s not afraid just because he’s a man. She’s always had to make her own way. She never had a father to stick up for her. She will have her revenge! [Tonto]

PS: I finally got around to looking up “jediondo” (also “hediondo” and “ediondo”) Here’s the word reference link. Mainly it means stinky. But I think “Por acá le dicen tambien "jedionditas", a las personas que se creen más que los demás ...que no quieren pisar tierra...no se si me explico.” is the best explanation for La Pantera’s context.

Erm. Forgot the link-

Sara,
I just read "Tonight on Tu decides" and it's great.
OMG...a Diego sighting! Yes!

I loved this part:
Diego comes to see Carmen. [LINDO]

Diego confesses that he loves Carmen. [REALLY LINDO]

Carmen returns that love [SQUEEE LINDO]

I can't wait to get home and watch this.
Thanks a bunch Sara!
Hasta Pronto...

Sara, thanks for your very fun recap. Loved your "Lindo o molestoso" determination and perceptive commentary.

My favorite scene was the one with a wide eyed Porfirio in between Conchita on one side and Martina on the other. After hearing Conchita complain about what is going on with Porfirio and his piropos for her Conchita when he came back with a wife, Martina tells Porfirio he has never changed after all of these years and after she left him because of the gossip from Humilde. Porfirio tells them now to fight over his dear bones because sometime in the future they will be eaten by the worms. Martina's comeback is that the worms will be having their banquet way before its time, if Porfirio keeps saying things to Conchita. Conchita does not want to be called "concha con nata" or any other of Porfirio's nicknames. She reminds Porfirio to respect his wife. Porfirio tells the "fieras" that if they didn't have him, they would have nobody to fight over. He looked extremely pleased with himself.

Isabel was annoying crying over the fact that Rocío was closer to Santiago because she was telling him things she had never told her. You would think she would just be happy Rocío had someone to confide in but no she just feels hurt.

It was so good to see Margarito in Martina's arms the midst of the Carmona's welcoming her.

So Diego and Carmen are set as a couple. Looks like Beto and Rocío are ready to hit the aisle.

Gracias AuntyAnn and Jarifa! Glad you liked the format. The Diego and Carmen scene had me so excited that my comprehension was shot for the rest of the night.

Extra thanks for the back up, Jarifa. I walked into the kitchen right as we got the close up of wide-eyed Porfirio.

There was also a scene with Jacinto and Susana. He has some surprise planned but won't tell her.

I giggled at the scene between Carmen and Frederick because he and Carmen seemed to repeat some words 3 times which reminded me of AI3.

Comment bomb

Diana- not sure if you will see this but I hope you and your family are well. Thinking of you!

Thanks Sara !!!!!!! Liked the clever word play.

Last night almost seemed like a ho-hum "el fin" with everyone making nice. But we know there's unfinished monkey business ahead, don't we.

I think it would have been much better if Martini's character had remained dead. She seems like an afterthought, an intrusion; plus I don't like her persona.

I hope we get to see the results of Carmen and Rocio's collaboration. That could be mucho divertido.

Oh, and the guy in the gray plaid shirt was spotted two times now entering (back view) the Carmona office building instead of departing (front view) the building. Oh, it's the little things.

Lola

Ay Lola! Me encanta tu plaid shirt guy reports!

I hope we get to see a fashion show and that it's as entertaining as the dance contest.

I agree about Martina. This has been a rather odd little tale. Isa's mom wasn't so odd because they had always said she was flighty. I didn't question her sudden appearance and quick exit.

But this idea of leaving your child for decades with no contact or explanation is just too much for me to accept.

I like María, Carmen and Rocío working together, too. The business could fulfill their needs and give work to all three.

Good old Granpappy Porfirio continues to be my favorite along with Margarito. So glad they have not killed either of them off. Hope they don't do so in the final 10 episodes.

Just an observation, since they seem to have to end up "pairing" ever body up, what about Perpétua? Conchita? Now that Porfirio is out of the mux.

Cannot wait for the fashion show!

Looks like "mud" should be "mix".

Will Maria's dad come back? Maybe they can introduce a love interest for Conchita at the fashion show.

Argh! They just have so much to do in so little time!

Thanks, Sara. Your Lindo or Molestoso? theme is fun. Thanks for the lowdown on “jedionda.”

I’m giving Facundo LINDO on everything this episode because he told Maria the truth, at least the truth as he sees it. Plus they had their best kiss yet.

I’m giving Maria LINDA because she told Fac to fight Esteban for control of the company, despite the fact that this will keep them in the city longer.

Santi going macho on Florencio in front of Isa LINDO. Florencio is nuts macking on Isa right in front of her husband. Santi would’ve been less than a man to put up with that.

ITA Conchita, Porfirio, and Martina in the kitchen was some scene. Can Porfirio really stop himself from flirting with Conchita? Maybe Franklin will return and take Conchita off Porfirio’s hands.

I actually can buy all the Carmonas accepting Martina with open arms. A friend of a friend accepted her mom back in her mom’s old age, when the man that the mom had abandoned the family for died. Forgive and forget is a powerful thing. But Perpétua’s acceptance is a beanie moment for me. If Maria had abandoned Fac and left the kids with him, Perpétua would’ve had a cow and called Maria everything in the book. But strangely Perpétua lays the blame for Martina leaving (and staying away for 40 years) on Humilde’s big mouth.

Squee! Margarito got some great screen time. He looked trimmer this time.

Thanks for the extra bits, Niecie!

Also thank you for your take on Martina. I want to like her because Porfirio and Fac do. And I like her style. :-) Chic yet comfy.

Niecie, it is just the life long grudge Perpétua has against Humilde for the fling she had with good old Mr. Perpétua of "ojo alegre" fame. She does not seem to be anywhere close to forgiving her. She is quite relentless in her animosity.

Lol. Yeah she's perpetually angry at Humilde.

Get it? (Wit is not my strong suit.)

Very funny!!

Last night's episode was great. I loved the Carmen/Diego scene. I went from not liking Diego, to missing him when he wasn't on for a few episodes. BTW, I never commented on how much I liked watching Diego and Carmen dance. It was awesome to see a guy that knows how to move. I don't know why, but I loved the look on Diego on the last dance. It was the dance with the banda music, but the name escapes me right now. Anyway, he was wearing black pants and a black button-down shirt. I just think he looked really good in that outfit. I think I have a crush on Diego! Sigh...

I also loved that "we're back together" kiss from Fac and Maria. IMO that was the best kiss they have had in the entire novella. I also liked that Rocio and Beto talked, but it wasn't a rush to "get back together and get married."

Hasta Pronto!

I understand, AuntyAnn! I think we all kind of have a crush on Diego. He and Beto are really the standouts in the young cast (and Susana.)

For me, the dance contest episode is without a doubt the best episode.
