Amores Con Trampa #125 El Gran Final- Full Circle

We made it! I think I've been smiling since NovelaMaven's recap of the premiere to tonight's final credits.

I don't even care that there were loose ends and Francis kind of got a reward and there was no Margarito. I am very happy with the gran final!

This has been such a blast. I am so glad we had a patio for this. Thank you Jarifa and Marta for taking on much of the recapping duties and thank everyone who stopped by and sat a spell.

Facundo wins the billiards on horseback bet and the party gets going. I love final episodes that look more like cast parties!

Well, until the bad guy tries to burn people to a crisp (achicharrar.) Isa and Esteban vow to have a happy marriage. Ernesto Laguardia steals the scene with his royal waving. I am in love with him and I will watch anything he’s in from now on (Dear Rosy, if you are reading please find a spot for him in the cast of Antes Muerta Que Lichita. You won’t be sorry.) Esteban lurks outside and splashes gasoline everywhere. The house goes up in flames. Everyone inside panics. Mauricio thinks Pelancha burned dinner. Lots of running around and screaming. Mauricio even films it. Santi wants to get them all out of the house. Isa remembers her mother and goes to get her. In her hurry to get her mom out of the house, Isa hits her head and is knocked unconscious.

The next day, in SBeC, Fac reads about the fire in the paper. Were they making edits? The scenes seemed to jump around a lot. Concha seemed super upset, but Perpetua was trying to tell her they didn’t really know anything yet. Jump to Rocio, who feels like family is being punished. Beto assures her that his family has forgiven hers. There’s no more bad blood.

Whew! The Velascos survived! (And so did Pelancha, Isa’s mom and Mauricio.) They appreciate life differently now. It’s not just about material things. They will start over from zero. Santi will rebuild the house. Isa thanks Santi for saving her and we get a flashback to him dragging her out of the fire.

Esteban is pissed! He reads in the paper that they survived! The waitress tries to do her job and gets yelled at for her trouble. In his defense, he did pay for the damages, the coffee, and her tip. Maybe that’s what merited his soft anvil?

Awww! We did NOT get plaid shirt guy going into or out of the Carmona building. Did I miss him? Lola? Do you have a report?

Santi tells Fac what he did with that initial loan. Santi only used a small portion for the business. He kept most of it in a personal account. But it’s ok! He’s since tripled it! And yeah, he kind of wanted to keep it all for himself, but he didn’t. Santi gives Fac a check. Fac keeps throwing it on the desk. He’s trying to make sure it won’t rebotar (bounce.) I’m not sure about Santi in that denim jacket. Fac is happy to see that Santi is a different man from the one he first met. They look a little misty eyed and shake hands. They call each other “consuegro” for most of the conversation.

El día de las bodas
Everyone waits at the church. The banner proclaims a double ceremony: Rocio and Alberto and Martina and Porfirio. Susana is in a dress! She looks great! Fac gives Maria a big ol’ smoochie. She will be his love forever!

We interrupt this lovely lovely for some ugly ugly. Esteban curses and punches a mirror! Today is his day!

Guests continue to arrive. Everyone looks so nice and happy. Beto and Rocio arrive together. I love the priest yelling “¡Bienvenidos a La Casa de Dios!”. I like Rocio’s dress too.

Santi gives Rocio away. Beto promises to make Rocio happy. Santi asks him to take care of her.

The ceremony gets under way. The priest calls Porfirio “old” and Porfirio cracks a joke I don’t get. The priest tells everyone they can sit. Porfirio doesn’t feel well! He passes out. Oh...don’t do this to us!

A mystery rider gallops down a dirt road.

Whew! Porfirio just needed a “huevo duro”. Luckily a guest had one. He is revived and they are able to continue. Porfirio and Martina say their vows. Fac thanks God for being able to see his parents get married again.

Then it is Beto and Rocio’s turn. Isa starts to cry happy tears. She’s so happy Santi forgave her. They will be together for every. She thanks him for making Rocio who she is(?) Fac and Maria joke about someone stealing the bride(?) Beto says his vows. Rocio says her vows. Montage of wedding traditions.

Everyone exits the church. la Pantera was the mystery rider. She’s there to “steal” Florencio. Maybe this is my one disappointment...but even “disappointment” is too strong a word. I guess I can live with this pairing….

Poor Estefy. She’s pole dancing in Monterrey (and I have no idea what the song is. All I ever catch is “sexy sexy smile”...and they used to use it all the time in club scenes. I remember 5ft wrote a recap once years ago talking about hating the song.) Anyhoodle (™ Carvivilie), The skeevy boss gets on to her for being rude to and making ugly faces at the customers.

OH! OH! Maybe there was a Margarito sighting! Jacinto is chasing a pig at the reception. Dancing and smiles. Feli and Hilda smooch. Fac introduces the entertainment: Lupillo Rivera! He sings “La Múcura.”

The police raid the club where Estefy is working.

The pig farmer has it bad for Francis. She’s not interested until she hears he’s got 100 millones de pesos. Suddenly she’s asking him to call her Pancha, or Panchita or whatever he wants.

Fac wants to introduce Beto to Lupillo.

Estefy is in jail. She was always plotting. She fell into her own trap.
Pelancha and a clean-shaven Mauricio watch the Gran Final of Amor imposible imposible imposible. He making a movie. The protagonista of AI 3 has agreed to be in his movie.

Porfirio flirts with Isa. Porfirio introduces her to Lupillos. She’s a big fan. Porfirio thinks Lupillos should be singing corridos about the revolution. Isa starts singing “La Adelita.” Santi comes up and gets a little jealous. Lupillo gives him a bone-crushing handshake. Santi acts tough, but Porfirio drags Lupillos away.

And now for the sad part. A memorial to Joan Sebastian. His son, Julian Figueroa, sings a nice rendition of the theme song. (BTW-He is the child of Joan Sebastian and Maribel Guardia.) There are flashbacks and a nice shot of a picture of Joan Sebastian. I really, really liked this scene. So touching. (I wish this song was available somewhere. Both Joan and Julian’s version.) Julian thanks the public and Joan’s version transitions us into the cake cutting and Mariachi Loco scene.

Isa wants a drink. She goes to the bar to get one...but it’s been drugged! Esteban carries her away. Luckily, Santi saw him!

Esteban has Isa tied up. She tells him groggily that she doesn’t love him. He’s got all the time in the world and no one knows where they are! Santi to the rescue! He punches Esteban a few times, but then tells him the police are on their way. Santi is not going to waste his time on Esteban.

Tiempo después
Santi presents the who family with the rebuilt house. Exactly like it was before! Everyone is happy. Ale wants to be an architect, too. Pelancha is worried about having to clean a big house. Santi put a big TV and a comfy chair in her room. Telenovelas are important to her. (I’m Pelancha!! I love my telenovelas!) Santi makes a speech: This house will become what it always should have been- a true home. He reveals a sign that say “Residencia de las Puchis”. Isa exclaims “¡Puchilandia!” (I loved it!) Santi and Isa smooch. He falls over into the shrubs.

The Carmonas fight over an empanada(?). Jacinto lectures about cholesterol. Carmen talks about being a model. She’s going to travel the world. Jacinto tells her she’ll need to learn a ton of languages. He imitates Chines, German, English and French. Again I miss the joke. Maria asks about Esteban, but Fac says to let the law take care of him. Jacinto wants a family bear hug.

Santi had a pool put in too! The family is excited. They all try to drag Isa into the pool. They succeed. Family swim time!

Ah, just for Diana and others at the Big Ed table, we get one last look at Ed in overalls and no shirt. Take it all in. Fac is working Esteban to the bone. SBeC has given Esteban a chance to think. He knows he’s done some horrible things. Fac has a lot of things for him to do-milk the cow, gather eggs. Esteban swears he’s being abused. Esteban tries to talk to Fac. Fac tells his former lawyer to talk to God, who sees everything. Esteban tells Him he’s learned a lot from good people and then tells Fac he is a good guy. Esteban thanks Fac for putting him to work in SBeC and not putting him in jail.

And in scenes like out opening episode, government cars speed to the Carmona ranch. Perpetua gets to fire the shot gun!! I think Fac gave a bunch of money to the SBeC schools. The Carmona lands are valuable to the country. They want to buy the lands at 10 times their value. They want Fac to sell. Fac confers with the whole family in a huddle (just like the first episode.) The family is ready to go back to the city. Jacinto likes the intellectual atmosphere of the city. Susana likes the selection of clothing for the animales. *Sigh* Diego inherited the Fac-dunderhead attitude I guess. He wants to finish his studies. This modeling thing is just a hobby with Carmen. He’ll need to take care of her (he even has the ranchero accent.) Conchita wants to take her international cooking classes. He asks Maria’s opinion. She loves the country, but since the boutique is going international she wants to learn English and Accounting. They can come back to SBeC on the weekends. Fac sells them half the property(?) Everyone in the family signs the contract (Profirio makes an x.) The men leave and the family laughs at the string tails Susana tied on them earlier.

Viva los Carmona!

Fin.

Ditto, Sara! Looking forward to the recap. I think Stefi got an unfair punishment, compared to Este and Francis. The pole dancing would have been enough. Jail time was too much, although I'm sure she's making it work for her in there, and scheming as always.

I agree, Vivi! Maybe it was wishful thinking, but she seemed almost repentant in jail. Esteban was just whining about having to work to hard. He didn't seem all that sorry.

Although Estefy almost looked like she was going a little crazy. And I wonder where the bruise under her eye came from.

I noticed the black eye too. I hope her sentence is a very short one and she can get back to her hustle. Too bad she lost her chance to snag Florencio. She could have been sitting pretty with a rich ranchero like Francis. Instead, Pantera got him. Although I do love that he got to be the one being stolen from the church on horseback, like Maria was when she was supposed to marry him. That was a nice touch.

Loved the gran final. I am sure I will love the recap. : )

It's up.

I have absolutely loved this show!

Fabulous job, Sara!!!!! You have done a tremendous job keeping these recaps going, and leading this small but mighty team of recappers. Mil ocho mil gracias, amiga.

In true Larrosa comedy form, no really bad things happened. No one died. No one was disfigured, and most got a happy ending. And sometimes, that's just fine. The whole cast did a great job. Ernesto, Eduardo, and Itati are pros who have been in the tn game a long time, and their experience shows. Africa, the young one in the bunch of "older" protags, did a great job in her first "mature"/parent role (despite being only 2 years older than one of her kids), the youngsters got great opportunities to shine, the veteran actors seemed to have a great time playing the abuelos, and the supporting SBeC folks were a hoot.

Wish the writers had tied up the loose ends, and tightened up some of the hanging plot points, but I'm not so picky about comedies needing to do this. They did a good job keeping us entertained throughout.

I also enjoy finales that seem like they are just a party for the whole cast and everyone is enjoying themselves. My favorite finale party/wedding is still Amorcito Corazon and its Bollywood dance number with the whole cast. Hasta Que el Dinero..., another Larrosa tn, also had a wedding with lots of performances and singing that was great fun. But I still get warm fuzzies from the last 10 minutes, which were low key, but featured the whole cast, Pedro Fernandez singing, and he and Itati just radiating love and happiness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxWMHL0Mz2M

I saw an ad for an alternate ending (I think).

Thanks, Sara. Your wonderful recap covered it all. What a great way to wrap this one up! Yes, they sold half the place for 10X the money. Only in San Bartolo el Chico!

Thanks, Vivi, for the info about Larrosa comedies. I will be on the lookout for others.

I agree that Estefany's ending was too harsh compared to Esteban.

Loved that the plot had come full circle and that the Carmona's were going back to the city for the week anyway. The only ending scene that could have been better for me would have been seeing Isabel now in her new home being awakened by the rooster crowing again and maybe just smiling and going back to sleep. It is what I pictured in my head anyway.

I liked:

Porfirio being cured by his beloved hard boiled egg. He also made a comment later about not wanting to talk about anything "dead." So funny. What a great "gran pappy."
Rocío's wedding gown.
La Pantera taking a very willing Florencio "down the road of love."
Two of the musicians in the Lupillo Rivera group holding a chicken and a baby goat when they were performing.
Julián Figueroa's performance.
Hilda catching the bouquet. It was fast but it looked like her.
Martina telling Perpétua it was now time for her not Perpétua to be the one to yell at Porfirio.
"Puchilandia"
Boy genius Jacinto giving his own version of different languages.
María deciding there were things of value in the city and giving the family the green light to return.

The actors did an excellent job in this novela. The performances of so many (even the Zamarripa brothers) were so memorable. I am going to miss the "Amores con trampa" world they created and our group on the patio. It has been FUN!

Thanks, Nanette, for reminding us about the alternate ending. Just saw it on U-videos. Worth the watch. Very cute!

Sara,
Thanks for your recap of the Gran Final. It was awesome. And gracias to you and the "Amores con Trampa" team for all your hard work all these months. It is greatly appreciated.

I liked the ending. Rocio and Beto looked so happy. I found myself smiling throughout the episode. I liked the compromise the family made of living in the city and going to the country on the weekends. That makes it fair for everyone.

Thanks again Sara, and yes thank goodness we saw a little bit of Margarito one last time.

Hasta Pronto.

I laughed so hard when Porfirio was revived by the hard boiled egg. I think part of it was relief over Porf not being dead. :)

My emotions are so conflicted.

While I feel the ending was pretty perfect, I will so miss seeing our dear characters and animals. The camaraderie here was so heartening and delightful, I will remember it always.

Sara, you started this and finished this in grand style. Your love of this show, the actors et all was infectious. You enhanced our journey through a gamut of emotions from joy to sadness with your clever wit and insight. You, Jarifa and Marta gave us marvelous recaps from start to finish.

Your finale was as wonderful as the episode itself. "I love final episodes that look more like cast parties!" (true, true) and "We interrupt this lovely lovely for some ugly ugly" were among my many favorites.

The weddings were beautiful - so joyous!! I was very relieved nothing happened to Porfirio (perish the thought).

I did not know who Julian was until he announced it! I loved his version and it was complimentary to his father's. What a lovely touch. A real highlight of the night.

I love the priest yelling “¡Bienvenidos a La Casa de Dios!”. Me too Sara!! I want my parish priests to do this daily, I know attendance would soar. Who could resist such joy and enthusiasm??

I wonder if this was originally a 2 hour episode?? I totally agree that this seems fragmented at times, especially after Isa collapsed in the burning house.

Estefy's fate was a mild quibble. I think Esteban was mentally ill, I think Estefy's machinations simply got the best of her. I am agreeing with you Vivi in that I'm sure she is using her incarceration to think about the future. I am choosing to believe she will not be there long and will soon be free to grift again.

Jarifa, I didn't mind Hilda got the bouquet - I was on such a happiness high, I silently wished her and Feli the best. And if Francis ends up rich, at least it wasn't with Feli or Diego...

I did miss the Margarito sighting but have many happy thoughts of the dear pig, along with Susana who looked so pretty.

A fitting ending all the way around...

While I am sorry more people didn't watch and comment, I felt as though our small but loyal group had the opportunity to talk amongst ourselves and have real conversations. I so enjoyed seeing what everyone had to say each day. Thank you to all the commenters for making this experience truly memorable.

Thank you Sara, Jarifa and Marta for everything. So happy you are all on the Lichita team. Looking forward to tonight although there is enough to talk about in this finale for days to come.

Diana

Oh.

How could I forget to mention the overalls???? I formally request that Eduardo must state in his future contracts that any overalls he wears must be worn sans shirt.

I have absolutely no idea of the conversation he had with Esteban as I was transfixed.

Life is good. Sigh.

Diana

I also really loved Julian's version of the theme song, and thought it a nice tribute to his dad. Well done, young man.

Thanks Sara for a perfect finale recap. My fav was the same as Diana's "We interrupt this lovely lovely for some ugly ugly" and yes, I liked that the finale was more like a cast party... So nice of Santee to have accommodated a pool for Isa, since that was her main request in trying to 'get' the neighbor house at the beginning...
LOVED LOVED the weddings and Rocio's gown.. perfectly simple but perfectly suited for her body... I was rolling on floor laughing when Porfirio was revived with a boiled egg... and Pantera kidnapping Florencio to take him to the love land...
Nice to have found a way to close out both the Pantera and Florencio characters... very fitting.

Esteban... I did not get why he ended up working the farm but with all the secret hatred comments he made all along, I guess it was fitting for him.
I agree that Estefi jail time might have been too much. the humiliation of the pole dancing with the undesirable crowd of drunk men was the fitting (back to the starting line) ending for her.

I liked the ending... so now the Carmonas will sell most of their land to the government except the house and some of the land to keep their animals, the government gets the majority if the land, the Carmonas get a good mound of money to finish all the kids schooling and everyone lives perfectly weekdays in city and weekends in the clean air farm...

They would remain friends with the Velascos so I guess Isa and Santee and company would come out to the farm for vacations... with no pressure and no ambition schemes (trampas).

I loved the ending. Julian looked still in pain from his dad's passing... but his interpretation was very moving.

Loved that Hilda and Felipito ended together really. He will keep her grounded while she will add spice and fun to his life... nice coupling there.

and a big thank you to all who visited, read the recaps and commented here. Lets keep it going in Lichita.

Diana, I agree and think this was a 2 hr. finale in Mexico. It was choppy in parts and did run over. I would have liked them to have shown the whole thing.

One thing I really loved about this one was the fact that in spite of the countless "trampas" nothing too terrible happened and the villains were redeemed. No murder no torture. As a matter of fact, there seemed to be growth in all of the main characters. Quite an accomplishment!

Agreed Jarifa.

The ending was wonderful but it's a bit sad we could have had more minutes of happiness.

I WOULD have been miffed if any Margarito scenes were cut. Perhaps it is best I don't know ;)

Diana

Sara, Jarifa, and Marta – Applause for your great recapping of this fun show!!! Every recap has been a delight.

Sara - I am so glad you took the bull by the horns and decided Caray needed to cover ACT. Fabulous coverage of the grand finale. There were hardly any commercials last night and it went about 8 minutes overtime. Thanks a bunch!

My favorite lines:

I love final episodes that look more like cast parties!...Well, until the bad guy tries to burn people to a crisp (achicharrar.)

We interrupt this lovely lovely for some ugly ugly.

Ah, just for Diana and others at the Big Ed table, we get one last look at Ed in overalls and no shirt. Take it all in.

I’m okay with the loose ends, but I am a little peeved at the false clue about Porfirio’s wife and Perpetua’s husband running off together, but ni modo.

ITA that it’s unfair about Estefany. But I guess morally she must pay because she failed to go to the good side despite the kindness that Maria and the kids showered on her. I need my beanie though to believe that this smart woman wouldn’t have aimed for Florencio, not that she deserved him.

If I heard right, Esteban served time in prison for awhile and is now out on a work release program because Facundo agreed to sponsor him. I’ve got to think that Estefany was out of prison by then too, since her crimes were less than his, but that the writers chose not to follow her next step. But, if there's a 2-hour grand finale out there, could more be on Estefany in that version?

Francis getting such a happy ending is simply a crime. She should be slopping pigs, not hooking up with a filthy rich pig rancher.

Loved La Pantera riding in and “stealing” Florencio from the church. That was surprisingly touching and fitting. I’m okay with this pairing. Maybe because La Pantera’s lipstick was a deep red last night, not that dayglo Pepto Bismol that I hated.

The tribute to Joan Sebastian was moving. Clearly that was Yáñez, instead of Facundo in character, hugging Julian in condolence after the song.

At first I thought Rocio’s gown was just okay, but when she exited the church and I could see it better I thought it was beautiful. I liked Carmen’s dress too. And Susanna showed she can rock a dress when she has to. Beto was nice in his charro suit, but trimming his hair would've taken it to another level. But I guess that's just not Beto's style.

All the characters seem like real people. It was time to wrap it up, but I will miss this one and I’m going to watch the grand finale again.

It’s been a pleasure watching ACT with all of you. I've enjoyed and learned from all commenters. I’m going to try out Lichita. Hope to see you all there.

Niecie: "Francis getting such a happy ending is simply a crime. She should be slopping pigs, not hooking up with a filthy rich pig rancher" made me laugh.

"The tribute to Joan Sebastian was moving. Clearly that was Yáñez, instead of Facundo in character, hugging Julian in condolence after the song" was so true!

You have such a keen eye. I so enjoy all of your comments and am glad you are here.

Diana

Thanks everyone!

I am so enjoying the comments. I guess we could have had a bigger crowd...but we had our crowd. Through this whole thing I have felt more like I should be thanking Y'ALL. The patio is what has made this a wonderful experience for me. I have a new appreciation for the comedies.

I even hope this comes out on DVD so I can at least have the edited version.

Thanks Sara. Thanks everyone. This one was a good one. I’ll remember it fondly.

Loved Santi’s reactions when Beto and Rocio had their first “husband and wife kiss”.

Loved Rocio’s dress and veil. Also thought Martina’s dress was lovely. Susana looked beautiful in hers. Did not like that Porfirio did not take his hat off in church. I’m not religious, but felt that was a little disrespectful.

Wondered why Pantera was not invited to the wedding. Maybe she was, and decided that she wanted to gradually get to know her new family.

Loved that Joan Sebastian’s son sang the theme song in honor of his father. Also, loved the flashbacks. I think that should be a gran final standard.

Was hoping Frances would fall for the pig farmer. That would have been a hoot, considering. Didn’t like that she was only interested in him for his money. And what was she doing at the wedding anyway?

Maybe he’s lying about the money. Maybe she’ll end up being a poor pig farmer’s wife.

It seemed to me that Estefany was starting to get into the dancing when the place was raided.

Jarifa: There was a scene in one of the last eps where Isa and Santi are awakened by the rooster and smile and go back to sleep, cuddling.

Also, loved the musicians holding the animals. They were part of the family, after all. Glad they were included.

And the priest welcoming everyone to God’s house.

Marta: “Loved that Hilda and Felipito ended together really. He will keep her grounded while she will add spice and fun to his life... nice coupling there.”—well said!!

What a great group this has been. Looking forward to seeing you all on the Lichita patio.

Nanette

Can't believe we have reached the end! Big shout out to all of the amazing recappers and commentators!!

Agree with everyone on the various degrees of anvils for Estefy, Esteban and Francis. A bit strange. Though knowing Francis she will ruin her good fortune. I did think it was interesting that she had a braid in her hair a la Carmen.

I too was wondering why Pantera wasn't at the wedding but riding Flo off made sense. Still not digging them as a couple.

Diego and Carmen are too funny. They could have a spin-off show.

Porfirio being revived by egg was the highlight for me, probably because I hate eggs and I couldn't understand his obsession. Made me a little ill every time he ate one.

Thanks again to all of the recappers and commentators. This was fun! Not sure if I'll be on the Lichita patio but who knows?!

Nanette, too bad they didn't save that scene for my ideal ending. : ( Too funny!

Carvivlie, the "revival by egg" was so good and so very Porfirio.

Sara, I will be looking for the DVD, too. It will be like a souvenir!

I can't believe we're diving into a new tn world tonight!

I wish I could have hung out more today. I'm feeling really bittersweet right now.

I'm looking forward to Lichita...but I'm still not ready to let go of the Carmonas and the Velascos :-(

Sara,
You did an outstanding job on the last installment for ACT. I'd like to thank Jarifa and Marta for doing awesome recaps for us too. You all were a great team, and were greatly appreciated. I wanted to let you guys know that even though I didn't comment all the time I did read the recaps. And they kept me going. There was a time that I wanted to stop watching because I could not stand Isa and Facundo. But I kept watching because I could not stay away from reading the recaps. So thank you for seeing through the bad times. I ended up liking the story the more I continued to watch.

I really liked the ending. Like Vivi said, it was like a party for the cast and for us on the patio too. And I was glad to catch a glimpse of Margarito, even if it was just a few seconds. It must have been hard to keep a hold of him since he had grown so much.

I was happy with the finale couples, including Feli/Mercedes and Carmen/Diego. I was glad that Carmen didn't end up with Feli. Diego really grew on me, so I was glad she ended up with him. And I was glad that Beto and Rocio did marry. They looked extremely happy. One of the best parts was the family deciding to divide their time between the city and the country. It's a win/win situation.

I really wish they would make a sequel to this in a few years to see how everyone turned out. Did Isa and Santi follow through with their happy marriage? Did Pantera and Florencio marry? Did Jacinto win the Nobel Prize? Did Susana ever wear another dress? (A Rocio original perhaps?) Does Facundo continue to wear his overalls and nothing else? Did Maria's boutique succeed internationally? What about Carmen, and Pancha? A whole new novella could be made and I would watch it. It's just a suggestion in case someone at Televisa is reading.

Hasta Pronto
p.s. I had posted earlier, but it got lost somewhere in the interwebs...sigh...

That's so weird AuntyAnn because I did read your comment yesterday. I got notification of it! When I went to the actual comment page it didn't even register with me that it wasn't there :-(

I love your idea of a sequel!

I enjoyed Lichita last night, but I was still missing this show.

AuntyAnn- I love your idea of a sequel. Even if it's just a two hour special, it would be so great to drop in on these characters' lives 15-20 years from now.

Sara,
I missed watching the show last night too.

Yeah, I don't know what happened to my comment. I had posted one early Tuesday, but it was a short, quick one. I had another detailed one later that afternoon, but I think it somehow got lost. I think it has to do with the fact that I was at work and was typing it on my phone. Depending on where I am in the building, the internet connection is bad and sometimes I get bumped off.

Vivi,
I think I would watch anything with the Carmona's/Velasco's.

I'm still thinking about the Carmonas and the Velascos and I've been humming the theme song all day.

And maybe this has already been said, but now that it has all sunk in I am really not happy about Estefy's fin.

La Pantera tried to KILL Maria...and others. Why does she get to ride away with Florencio?

Did Estefany try to kill anyone? Ok. She killed the chicken. I don't even eat meat and I feel like her punishment was harsh...or is that why she's in jail?

Great ideas for a sequel, Aunty Ann. I guess we can dream, right? I like Lichita a lot but as somebody mentioned this finale would have been better shown on a Friday to give us more time to savor the ending.

Sombra ended on a Monday, too. I think Limp will end on a Monday too. P y P premieres on a Tuesday. I guess that's better for ratings, but I don't like it.

Did they not show the two hour finales a few years back? If I remember correctly PESE had a two hour finale. I don't like when they edit things down for the U.S. but show a longer version of the finale in Mexico and many times on the weekend there. They treat it like the big deal it should be. I am clearly on a rant today!

Sara, I like the cookies with pink frosting. They look like Lofthouse ones. Mmmmm

Lol. Those are fairy tale cookies of suspended disbelief (Susanlynn's recipe.) I'm eating them for Muchacha italiana.

Feel free to rant! It's my default mode. There was a time when the Gran Final was a bigger deal and there was a two hour episode. And sometimes a special with the cast.

I wish they still did that.

I just don't think Uni gives a damn. What? You don't want the show you've invested 5 days a week for 6+ months to be diced, disrespected, and dismissed (on a Monday)? Too bad!

Vivi, you are probably right.

Ditto what Jarifa said. And Uni is infuriating!

Love the "fairy tale cookies of suspended belief"

I don't think Uni cares. If they did, they would not chop up our stories. Speaking of gran finales. I remember watching a gran finale that was two hours, followed by the Cristina Special with some of the cast members. I miss those Cristina Specials. Can I have a cookie of the fairy tale kind?

LOL. You may have a whole plate of cookies if you wish :-)

I didn't start watching telenovelas in earnest until Soy tu dueña. I think that was about the time that Cristina stopped doing those Cristina Specials. I wish I had started watching earlier.
