Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #20 Mon 9/21/15 (Mex 26-27) Fiorella, La Consentida!

Ciao, MIVAC Patio Peeps!  We are flung right into the action!  Julieta is with Anibal in their bedroom discussing the spiritual retreat.  Julieta thinks it was well worth it, especially for Eloisa.  Uh oh! Julieta discovers the emerald ring that her father gave her is missing from her jewelry box!  We are thrown immediately into the living room where we were left on Friday when Fiorella entered carrying a pitcher of water and a bottle of medicine.  It is for Pedro.  Simona asked her to bring it.  Eloisa examines the medicine and is alarmed that Pedro is taking antibiotics.  Well, he had a minor injury when he fell from the horse.  He’s fine.  Pedro takes the medicine and Freddy makes a crack about how Fiorella is so attentive to her master, just like in a novela.  Pedro says he’s got work to do and leaves.  Eloisa thanks Fiorella for her attention to Pedro and politely dismisses her.   Roxi pouts and whines that Fifi is just fussing over Pedro so she can get next to Eloisa.  Eloisa thinks that Fiorella is setting a good example then!

Julieta flies into the room and announces that her precious emerald ring is missing!  What!A valuable jewel belonging to a guest invited into their home has been stolen!  Dante, standing next to Joaquina (Quina) and Simoneta, says he will look high and low, starting with the servant’s quarters!  And the jewel will be found, Eloisa announces:  this may be a house filled with lunatics, but not with thieves!

Quick shift to Freddie with Julieta in Julie’s bedroom planting the seed that maybe Anibal took the ring to give to one of his lovers.

Just as quickly we are in Fifi and Gigi’s room.   Dante is there with Quina as well.  He has her look on top of a dresser and in an armoire.  Nothing.  Dante goes to a dresser, looks in the open top drawer, nothing, then in the second top drawer and chortles with evil delight.  The emerald ring is there.    Fifi exchanges startled glances with Quina and Gigi.

Next we are in the study with Sergio and Pedro.  Sergio wants to know what’s the deal with the Italian girl:  it was clear she did not want to leave Pedro’s side for a single instant.  Sergio wants to truth.  Very well.  Pedro tells Sergio that women have awakened in him tenderness, passion, affection, but what he is starting to feel for Fiorella, he has never felt before.  Pedro has leaned across the desk and grasped his dad’s arm for emphasis.  Sergio’s eyes light up!  Ah, that would be love . . .Simoneta bursts in and breaks up this probably rare father son moment to announce that Julieta’s ring has been found!  Hasn’t she ever learned to knock on a door!? Sergio exclaims!  Indeed, Simoneta!

The whole gang is in the dining room still at the breakfast table, Eloisa at the head, Osvaldo, Sonia, Julieta, Anibal, Roxi, Freddie and Gael.  Pedro is behind Fiorella when Dante comes in to announce happily that the ring was found among Fiorella’s things.   Dante takes the ring to Julie.  Freddie examines it as if she’s never seen it and remarks on how valuable it must be.  “How shameful, Fiorella,” Eloisa says slowly, meaningfully.  Fiorella tries to protest her innocence and she is mainly shut down and is peppered with scornful comments from the gathered hyenas.  She does manage to say she did not steal the ring!  She is innocent and she is honest!   Eloisa asks her to look her in the eyes and answer, “Was it you or your sister who stole the ring?”  Fifi begins to cry and swear by San Biagio that they did not steal it.  Pedro calms her, telling her tears will not clear her name, she needs to tell them what happened.  It is a serious matter.

“This ring was offered to me by Sr. Anibal in exchange for my being friendly with him.  Julieta jumps up, calls Anibal a piece of trash and runs from the room.  Anibal accuses Fiorella of making up the story, Dante suggests Eloisa throw Fiorella out for being a thief and a liar!

Immediately we are back in the study where Pedro confronts the tearful Fiorella and accuses her of abusing the family’s confidence and being a flirt, essentially “asking for” what she claims are the unwanted attentions of Anibal.  Fiorella’s voice cracks and tears leak from her unbelieving eyes as Pedro leans in toward her wearing the face we met earlier in the story.  She swears she is innocent and can’t believe he doesn’t believe her!  Sr. Anibal propositioned her and she turned him down!  Pedro walks away and states forcefully that ALL women are capable of that and more for money!  Uh oh.  He’s struck a nerve.  Fiorella walks toward him and sucks up some of her tears.  If she were like that he would know it!  Does he remember that when he offered her money for Tania’s diary and she didn’t want to take it?  Pedro hangs his head and says yes, she rejected it.  Fiorella asks why would she now jeopardize her job, tranquility, safety and the health of her sister for a stupid ring?   He quietly says Dante found it among her things.  She knows that, she was there and she has no idea how it got there!  Pedro doesn’t know what to think.  Well, she does.  If he thinks she’s a thief and a flirt she wants to leave this house forever.  She only asks one favor, that Gianna can stay and when she is able, she will come back to get her.

Julieta asks her philandering husband if it’s true that he did not offer the ring to Fiorella.  Of course he didn’t! Fiorella made it all up!  Now he understands why she hates Italians so:  what a bunch of cynical liars they are!  Thank goodness Pedro enters to interrupt this hateful speech!  He wants to talk to Anibal outside, alone.

Now Fiorella has an audience with Eloisa.  She tries to retell the story about Anibal offering her the ring.  Eloisa cuts her off.  Why did she steal?  She thought Fiorella was honest!  Fifi denies the theft again and knowledge of how it ended up in her things.  Eloisa is done:  Fiorella must prepare her things and leave immediately!  Her tears and pleas fall on deaf ears and blind eyes.  Dante stands by gloating.

In the kitchen Gianna moans to Simoneta, wondering who wants to hurt her and Fifi?  Where will they go?  Where will they live?  They will be all alone!  Benito is there as well and pronounces all the patrons are crazy.  Gael enters the kitchen and invites Gigi to go with him on a walk:  he wants to take her away from the madness and venom of the accusations.   She accepts with a shy smile, taking Gael's hand and they leave. Simoneta pushes Benny’s chin up to close his mouth, chuckling that he’s going to let the flies in.

Outside Pedro baits Anibal into telling the truth about his intentions toward Fiorella and the ring.  Fiorella stands nearby but unnoticed by Pedro and Anibal and watches the interchange.  Eh, she’s not worth it, he won’t get any fun out of her, he tried with the ring and she turned him down flat.  Fuggedabout it, she’s just a lowly servant, who cares?  It’s her loss!  Pedro smacks him hard but he’s a big joker and doesn’t go down but does get a bloodied nose.  What a coward he is Pedro shouts angrily!  What nobody cares about is Anibal's life but he doesn’t like the way he treats his wife and he’s not going to stand for Fiorella’s dignity to be abused either!  Fiorella breaks out in a big grin and scurries away!

Freddie and Dante have also witnessed the scene and cheer that they will be rid of La Italiana and looks like Anibal as well!  Dante thinks they’re hot shit, able to accomplish whatever they want!  It’s worth a peck on the lips from Freddie.

Pedro demands that Anibal leave the ranch,  NOW!  Anibal’s like, okay fine. " I tried to get her and couldn’t, you think YOU can get her?Well, Julie walks up, having heard the whole thing and tells Anibal to get the hell out of her face and her life; she doesn’t want to see him again!

Next, Pedro is in the study with Fidel, whom he has asked for his medicine.  Pedro is at the desk with his laptop apparently ignoring orders to get complete rest.  Fifi enters, Fidel exits.  Fifi came to thank him.  She saw the whole thing with Anibal and it means everything to her!  She so appreciates him opening his heart and believing in her.  Well, he doubted her at first and he feels badly.   He can’t forgive himself for that.  Will she forgive him?  Yes, she knows people say things they don’t mean sometimes.  She just hopes Sra. Julieta is calmer now.  Can she help him with anything?  Yes.  To change his bandages.  Yes, she will, and she will be very careful.

Pedro sits down.  Fiorella gets the bandages.  I know, the novela love-starved don’t need a lot to make them happy but there follows a sweet and amorous little ballet in which Fiorella helps Pedro off with his jacket and his shirt, changes his bandages and then helps him dress again.  All of this requires them to be in each other’s personal visual and thermal space.  Their eyes lock and caress .  Thank you, Fiorella, Pedro says.  No, thank you.  Thank you for defending me Fiorella says softly.  Pedro and Fiorella draw closer together, their lips touch . . . .AND SIMONETA BURSTS INTO THE ROOM!   The two boing apart as if spring-loaded!  Goldern that Simoneta!  Eloisa wants them and the whole family to meet in the living room now!  Ooops!  Fifi forgot that she was put out!  She helps Pedro with his coat and they rush out.

Pedro and Fiorella enter the living room where Eloisa and the Angeles gang are gathered.  Fifi blurts out that before all else, she wants to thank Sra. Eloisa for her kindness in letting her and her sister live at the Rancho.  No thanks necessary goes Eloisa, she has shown her thanks through her work and her effort.  Fiorella asks for another chance to prove that she and her sister are honest.  Well, that wont be necessary either.  Something about the whole ring thing wasn’t adding up to Granny and after talking to Julieta she is convinced of Fifi’s innocence and wants to announce that from now on Fiorella will be her personal assistant!  Fifi rushes Eloisa with flurry of light embraces and little kisses.  Well, the flies would have a field day with this collection of gaping maws!  Of course they snipe and make cracks.  Pedro congratulates her.  Eloisa announces that she trusts Fiorella and knows she is going to do a good job and that she will work for HER and NOT for them!

Switch to the kitchen where Fiorella tells Gianna of her new position.  Fifi is worried but Gigi encourages her.  As for her concern about Julieta, Fifi should not worry as she is now la consentida (the favorite) of Eloisa!  Fifi is eager to start learning her new job right away!

Once again Fiorella enters the study.  She thought Eloisa was there.  Pedro takes Fiorella by the hand and congratulates her on her new duties.  Fiorella begins to fret again.  Oh, she shouldn’t worry.

"You will do very well, you are very intelligent.  You will be near her and she will learn to trust you and this will help us as she will approve of our relationship, Fiorella.”  Pedro says this into her right ear and punctuates it with a kiss to that ear.  Fiorella subtly blushes a deep pink and sighs and shifts her weight.

"What if she DOESN’T like my work or approve of our relationship and I end up in the street. . . ."

He sexily shushes her.  "Who would not love you?  You are the most enchanting woman in the world!"  They move together slowly and meet softly at the lips and BOING!!!  This time it’s Eloisa coming in for Fiorella’s first briefing!  Ooops!

First order of business, Fiorella will need new uniforms.  Eloisa will have her dressmaker come to the house and measure her.  Her assistant must have a uniform which fits the dignity of her position!

Out to lawn where Gael is hitting golf balls.  Gianna asks him what he’s doing and talk turns to Fifi’s new position.  Gael says it’s a job to die for and tells her about how everyone wants in Eloisa’s good graces because of the inheritance of Max’x Millions.  Ooooh, that’s why they hate her, Gigi concludes.  She doesn’t think he's like the other members of the family.  Gigi apologizes, she didn’t mean anything bad by it.  [I must say Gael cuts a fine figure in that bicep-loving white shirt he’s wearing!]  Gael establishes once again that he is not insulted by whatever she thinks of the Angeles since he’s never really felt like one.  Gianna steps into Gael’s arms so he can show her the proper technique for hitting golf balls.  Benito looks on jealously.

Back to Eloisa and Fiorella.  Eloisa realized at the retreat that there are many things she has to do before, well, you know, before she makes that last transition and she needs an assistant to help her.  Eloisa complains about being surrounded by zánganos – drones.  Well, offers Fifi, since she is a Queen Bee, shouldn’t she be surrounded by drones?  This makes Eloisa laugh and she reflects aloud that this is exactly what Pedro needs, someone who makes him laugh, that gives him a reason for living and striving and moving ahead.  He needs someone who makes him feel happy.  Fiorella asks if she has any idea who that could be.  Oh yes, the right person is all the time closer and closer.  Uh oh.  Fiorella is beaming but I think Granny is talking about Aitana.  Pobrecita de FioRELLA!  Fiorella thinks every woman must be attracted to Pedro.  Granny agrees he’s a good catch but just a little bit bitter.  That’s why he needs a woman with a good sense of humor.  They chuckle together and Fiorella is glowing with happiness!

After Gael has left, Benito approaches Gianna and tells her she should NOT pursue Gael as a boyfriend nor have any relationship with anybody in the Rancho!  What about him chasing Roxi?  He denies he’s chasing her and it’s not that he cares, he just thinks it’s for her own good to stay away from him.

Now Giana and Fiorella are in the kitchen.  Gigi tells about Benny’s jealousy of Gael.  Fifi agrees it’s not a good idea for her to look at Gael OR Benny as a potential boyfriend.  What about her and Pedro?  Between them there’s, well she likes him sooo much and Sra. Eloisa is starting to like her, too!  Can Gianna imagine if Sra. Eloisa approves of her relationship with Sr. Pedro!  Her face falls and Gigi asks her not to get started with that old story “but I’m promised to marry another. . .”  Pedro walks in just in time to hear that last bit from Gigi and goes “marry?”

Bam! we’re in La Dolce Vita.  Vitto talks to Rey about Fiorella.  He can’t forget her, they have so much in common.  He asks an uncomfortable Rey one more time does he know anything of the girls whereabouts.  Rey says no and smiles at Vitto through lying eyes. Vitto praises Rey’s honesty and proposes a toast to loves found and lost in airport terminals!

In the kitchen again, Fifi and Gigi lie to Pedro that they were talking about a novela with characters Francseco and Victoria who are in a dilemma about marrying.  Pedro buys it and we all know this little “white lie” is going to come back to bite Fifi in the boo boo!  Gigi leaves.

"Who are you looking for, Sr. Pedro?"

"For you.  I had to see you."  She reminds him they just saw each other a moment ago.  He can’t go a moment without seeing her.  They approach each other slowly.  Fifi says they can’t be seen together.  Pedro asks how it went with Granny.  She thinks it went very well and that Eloisa wants her to get new uniforms.  Pedro approves as he takes her hand and twirls her around slowly:  she must have a uniform that’s different than all the others, something that will make her stand out.  She’s afraid that Sra. Eloisa won’t like her character.  Ah, Fiorella wants to pick up where they left off in the study!  Pedro doesn’t disappoint and moves in for more of those whispered reassurances that so moved Fiorella (and me) earlier.  He whispers in Fiorella’s left ear that the more Eloisa comes to know her. . .and then he whispers in her right ear, the more she will appreciate her.

Still whispering, “I’m sure my Grandma will come to approve our relationship.  I’m sure.”  He kisses her quickly but tenderly and moves back to observe her gently flushed face, closed eyes and still slightly parted lips and then follows it with another.  Fiorella’s eyes smile their appreciation as Pedro backs away, never taking his eyes from hers.  He stumbles a bit as he backs toward the door, still gazing lovingly at her.  He steps on the other side of the door, smiles and waves through the glass panes and  leaves.  Fiorella finally breathes as she chants, Oh My God!  Oh, My God!  She clasps her hands and does a happy dance.  She looks upward and pleads with San Biagio that she knows she shouldn’t break a promise but she did everything to find Sr. Vitto, but couldn’t!  What’s a girl to do!

Sonia and Osvaldo argue about breaking the partnership with Fabio.  Sonia thinks it will be harmful to the business.  What?  How about your screwing him, what was that? (That's MY question!)  Oh, she did it in a moment of confusion because he treats her so badly.  Oooh, as a matter of fact, bay-bee, she loves it when he’s angry:  his jealousy shows he loves her.  Sonia tries to get funky with Osvaldo but he pushes her away.  He’s not jealous!  She put horns on him!  Like it or not, the partnership is through!

RPC with Dante and Freddie.  I already covered them kissing.  She makes another gesture that yuckifies me.  Bottom line:  they plot to plant the key to Eloisa’s safe in Fiorella’s things.

Fiorella is back to getting instructions from Eloisa and notes what she think is ugly jewelry.  Nope.  It’s the key to Eloisa's safe which she keeps around her neck for safe keeping!  No one is to ever touch it!  Only her!

Snippet of Adela and Ray talking, he about Fiorella and she about Diana lying about her baby.

Dante lets Freddie into Eloisa’s room.  Sergio almost busts them but Dante successfully deflects him but Pedro DOES bust Freddie in the room.  Freddie lies that she’s worried about Eloisa:  she thinks she must be drinking to have hired Fiorella for her personal assistant.  Pedro doesn’t buy it and goes into Eloisa’s inner room and to her armoire specifically to see if anything is disturbed.

Adela goes to see Vitto.  She thinks Diana is hiding something from him.

Rey on the phone with Benny.  Rey tells him Adela is gone to talk to Vitto because she obsessed with Fiorella.  How are things going Rey asks.  Bad.  Fiorella doesn’t talk to him, barely pays him attention.  Rey thinks Benny should let Fiorella find Vitto.  No.  “I will never let her find that lying crook!”  Fiorella enters the kitchen where Benny is and asks what he is talking about.

Everytime I think to myself I'm going to do a summary, it ends up longer than usual! Doh! Well, there it is. No editing tonight! See y'all in the morning!

Thank you Lila for your wonderful recap. It seems that Univision has a big hurry finishing the broadcast of this novela because they keep editing it. They cutted tooo much scenes from episode 26 today. Practically they are cutting out all the vittorio and diana story, a little bit on sonia and osvaldo, on julieta and anibal.

LILA, no need to edit this great recap! It is a gem and covers everything from the big action to the lightest nuances of emotion. Thank you so much for staying up late and reporting!

Marla, I'm sorry to hear that Uni is still chopping out scenes. I have a feeling that the Diana/Vito storyline is going to develop into something interesting further on...

Well, I'm delighted that the set-up with the ring didn't work and Fiorella will stay. Wish Uni would cut out some of the scenes with Federica and Dante, those two set my teeth on edge. Some people just shouldn't wear hats.

Off to bed. Thank you again Lila!

I think they want to bring another novela soon and thats why they are chopping too much this novela. Also the novela didnt have too much rating on mexico. Dianna and Vittorio are important characters and is supposed that they are beginning to have a relationship but uni has erased all their storyline for now. By the way I loved all the sweet scenes between fiorella and pedro today, too bad that simona interrupted them and entered everytime without knocking the door. Very nice how pedro defended fiorella from anibal.

Thanks so much , Lila, for that excellent, detailed recap.

Wow, drop the scissors, Uni. There were some verra abrupt transitions .

Jose Ron is winning over Fi..and me. He is muy quaypo. I like the whispering, and I liked the fury when he confronted skeevy Animal. Go , Galan.

I wish that Fi would dial back the volume a bit.

What would I do without our stellar recappers?? Lila, this was fab, and love how you describe the scenes with such wondrous action words. "AND SIMONETA BURSTS INTO THE ROOM!" Such fun!

I don't get the slicing and dicing. Honestly, why bother to put it on at all if you can't let it run unscathed. I don't love some of the characters getting chopped, but I'm sure it lends to understanding the story better if we got more of the action. I hate when I'm watching and there is this crazy "next scene" unnatural jump. And can I ditto with enthusiasm, if Uni is going to chop, why are we "blessed" with so much Freddy and Dante. BLECH!!

I'm guessing that little tidbit from Gael was a subtle hint we will find he really isn't family ( and please don't make that the reason he winds up with Roxi. Just no.) He was so darn huggable in that scene with Giana. Future hunky sidekick in another TN please.

I admit, I've never been a big Jose R. fan, but do enjoy the way he's playing Pedro. And those little kisses and whispers...oh my. If Fi wasn't melting, well, I was.

But I was surprised Fi is the new assistant. So how does Eloisa get Aitana back into the picture I wonder unless she shows up as just an invited guest. Poor Fi will be crushed...bet she'll be put in a position to aid and abet Eloisa on her plan to get Pedro and A back together. (And another uniform?? Why do you need a uniform as an assistant? Better not be like that stupid nanny uniform in Mi Corazon with the four inch heels. Oi.)

Inquiring minds want to know...does Freddy EVER leave the house? Why bother to dress up. Jeans, tee and bunny slippers would serve her fine.

Daisynjay

Cio, Marla! Grazie! I tried not to mention the editing just like I tried to be brief but it's pretty hard not to notice. Oh well, we're powerless so we just have to deal with what we get. Marla, could you tell I liked the Pedro/Fiorella scenes! And yes! How galan-worthy was the defense of Fifi against Anibal!

J in O! Grazie, mille grazie for your kind words! Yes! Aren't you glad they resolved the ring/thing quickly! I don't mind Diana/Vito but COULD do with less Freddie and the devil!

Susanlynn Grazie, amica mia! It is SO hard not to discuss the cutting, isn't it? I'm really restraining the fuss cat in me. Girl, I loved the scenes with Fiorella and Pedro, especially that last one in the kitchen. My man was smoooooooov! Oh yah, baby! I think that's due some rewinding!

Daisynjay Yaaay! Grazie, amica! I don't get it either and this is probably one of the worst hatchet jobs I have ever seen in all my novela viewing life! They literally fast forwarded through everything that wasn't Pedro and Fiorella! Now, don't get me wrong, I think you can tell that I loved their scenes but I AM INTERESTED in the rest of the story and the love scenes are sweeter when we have some space between them to build up anticipation! Why show it at all! Criminey! Oh, how I wish they cared how we feel! Ok, rant over. . .until the next comment!

ITA Daisy, that they're trying to hint that Gael is NOT an Angeles and NO, let it not be so he can get with Roxi. But she is such a brat-bastard that you know there must be some redemption down the line where she'll learn to accept that her mother is a lowly maid, etc. I don't want that to happen because he and Gianna are so cute together. Benny is just annoying!

Yah, I've noticed Jose Ron isn't a favorite with some of my peeps. I've seen him before and didn't dislike him and yes, he's bringing it baby! Those scenes are hot and precious at the same time, the way she flushes and sighs and shifts her weight, you can feel that the kisses are hitting their mark. Too bad Aitana and news of her engagement to Vittorio will surely throw cold water on the passion.

Yeah. Freddie's a weird chick and we prolly ain't seen nothin' yet!

Great job, Lila. This was Mexican episodes 26 & 27. I am really annoyed with the hatchet job although what they did to PSMA was worse. At least s far.

Love how Pedro let Anibal have it. Someone needs to do this to Federica.

I don't remember what else happened between Vittorio and Diana, so it couldn't have been major. No excuse, though.

Vittorio is going to be livid when he finds out what happened. I am afraid that this will definitely bite Fiorella in the tuchas and she will end up in servitude to Vittorio who will then turn nasty. I might think differently if any other actor were portraying this character.

Mille grazie mia cara, Urban! Do you mean Pedro will be livid? It was so clear that that dumb novela cover story was a big mistake and will drive a wedge between them. Here she had been pleading for her innocence and honesty all day long and then she goes along with that stupid lie! But, alas, the lovers have to part.

Lila

Hi, MIVAC Peeps. Consensus is, and it's very clear, that we're getting a buzz saw edition of this show. We don't know why and there's nothing we can do. Our complaints and plaintive questions as to why and speculations about what will happen sometime invite folk with probably good intentions to fill in the blanks, sometimes inadvertently saying things that feel spoilery. I am the first to raise my hand in the complaining about editing department. It's impossible not to notice and even harder not to address it in recaps when you're plopped from one scene to another without transitions. SO. Please try, along with me, to enjoy what we are given and those who have seen this before, please don't try to ease our anguish with reassurances of the future or clarifying links. Let's grin and bear it and hope they at least leave us the juicy parts, like todays episode.

Mille grazie miei cari amici!

"BOING!!!" Hehehe, thank you Lila for another installment.

Dante's facial expression as Eloisa announced her new assistant so funny. Like, nope, nope, nope.

I missed nearly 3 weeks, has Freddie worn the Mao hat from TSTSNBN or a south park hat yet?

Agree UA the hatched job on PSMA much worse and the one done at the end of La Malquerida nearly killed one of the best TN's I've watched.

Wished Benito would stay away from Gigi. Gael please.

Fiorella assumes Eloisa is describing her as the anointed match for Pedro, cannot wait till that rug pulled out from under her. This thing need more drama than Freddie sneaking into grannys bedroom or our lovers stealing a kiss.

Sonia is nasty but Osvaldo should listen to her. These two should kill each other.

Does that mean you don't want the blanks filled in?

Lila – Thank you for the recap! No need to edit…. it is great just as it is.

Freddie’s outfit ---- latent train engineer or auditioning for an Austin Powers movie?

”Benito is there as well and pronounces all the patrons are crazy.“ Understatement of the century! LOL

Daisynjay – ITA with you about the hint that Gael might not be family, after all. Or maybe half-family being sold as full-family.

Tofie! Grazie, grazie! Yah, poor Fifi thought Granny was talking about her as the one who would bring laughter and light into Pedro's life. Ooops! And yes, Osvaldo and Sonia are a toxic pair, aren't they? The nerve of Sonia to talk about what is and is not good for the company! Any pity I had for her being picked on is long gone. I figured she must be guilty of similar bone-headed stunts that invited their scorn and I think I'm right!

Urban, I'm going to admit that's a hard question. I persosnally don't mind blanks filled in if it is certain that they came from the two (or three) episodes that were compressed in the one we were presented. What I fear is that bits might get included that are beyond the mangled episode we just watched. Does that make sense?

This is one of the reasons I hate this butchering, the unease in discussions it can create. I understand the request to "let's discuss what we see" but we are a smart bunch of folk and our literary sensitivities are assaulted, it is going to lead to discussion! Tofie, your observation is a great example:

This thing need more drama than Freddie sneaking into grannys bedroom or our lovers stealing a kiss.

That is absolutely true because the other drama is surely cut out! So, for me, I don't mind fill ins, just exercise extreme care that something beyond what we're served by Uni is not offered. I am totally open my teammates and Captain weighing in. Again, we like the Patio to be an open and easy place but this damned editing irritates these viewers and makes things not as fun!

Grazie, Doris! Back in a bit! Derned work!

Hi, Lila. This was great, as always.

Okay, I think the reason Freddy rarely goes out into the sunlight is because she is half vampire. Have we ever seen her reflection in a mirror? I can't remember.

The editing made it so the transition from Fi being considered a thief to Eloisa hiring her as her personal assistant didn't make sense.

I have no idea what is going to happen between Vitto and Fi. I hope that Pedro is there, and that when it all comes out, he can understand the duplicity that Vitto is capable of.

I noticed the snide smiles on the faces of Sonia and Osvaldo when Fi was being accused of being a thief. Enjoy it while you can, you two; your days are numbered - one way or the other.

Jeez, even the "honest" people in this thing are lying through their teeth, eg. Pedro to his grandma, and Fi to Pedro.

Well, virtually the entire household is against Fi. Hope Eloisa and Pedro remain in her corner. I think I would look for employment elsewhere.

Thanks again, Lila.

David

At this point Eloisa, Julieta, and Pedro are all convinced that Anibal is to blame for the whole thing. Eloisa has the last word on this. That's that for the moment.

It won't be long before Federica makes her next move.

I can certainly be convinced she is half vampire. She also has a male accomplice beneath her in looks and status. I wonder whether the authors are modeling her after Countess Erzebet Bathory.

About Gael....

What if he turns out to be the son of Federica? Is it possible she got knocked up and was sent away by Gabriel and Gael was raised as the child of Osvaldo Sr?

Lila- I loved this recap, as much or more than I loved Pedro's soft kisses and whispers to Fiorella. Thanks, amiga! :)

I was so glad that the ring caper was resolved quickly, AND Anibal got tossed out. Also pleasantly surprised that Fiorella was offered the personal assistant job.

How is it that Dante (and Fedora) have a copy of the safe key, when Eloisa supposedly has the only copy (hanging around her neck)?

I don't get as upset about the cuts to a light tn like this that's pretty predictable. Although annoying, we can still follow along and fill in the gaps pretty easily. When they do this to tns like La Malquerida or Por Siempre Mi Amor, shows that are dense and complicated, then I want to pull out my hair.

It did seem like we might have missed the walk Gael and Gianna took, but glad we got to see them playing golf. They are sweet together. I had to laugh at Gi bragging that she has TWO galans.

Grazie, David! ITA, I hope that Pedro is there, and that when it all comes out, he can understand the duplicity that Vitto is capable of.

Amen as well on Sonia and Osvaldo. I want Pedro and Granny to find out about them literally screwing over a business partner. This doesn't excuse Fabio, he is a jerky manwhore but Pedro was absolutely right about NOT wanting Sonia to join the wreckage that is Osvaldo in the family business!

David, I am beseeching the TN gods to let Pedro and Fifi only have minor hiccups. They are hot and cute together and you're right, there is SO much evil stacked up against Fifi and Pete!

"Okay, I think the reason Freddy rarely goes out into the sunlight is because she is half vampire. Have we ever seen her reflection in a mirror? I can't remember."

OMG!! Brilliant. David--now that I lost my office to the wonderful world of our new cubicle floor, I forget my loud chortles at brilliant comments spreads a bit. I heard two "what's so funny" in two seconds. How to explain????

I just don't see once the truth of Vitto comes out that anyone can get upset about things. All Fi has to do is show the picture she was sent by the old coot ( who did nothing to correct the misconception) and that's done. Frankly, I get nauseous listening to him wax poetic about her considering he mislead her. And if Benito cares so much about her, is there a reason he hasn't told her the truth? Save her some grief? I'm confused on all that now.

So after last night, I guess my idea Dante may be playing Freddy went out the window. He looked absolutely frantic at the idea of Fifi staying around. Have to get his photo ready for the dart board I guess.

Daisynjay

Many thanks, Lila! I only came in about the same time Pedro and Fi were about to kiss ". . . .AND SIMONETA BURSTS INTO THE ROOM! and thought of you. I pictured you in in front of your TV and yelling at Simoneta. Uf! I wonder if she will be interrupting the whole time.

I love your enthusiasm for Pedro and Fio. They absolutely sizzle and while Jose Ron had ZERO appeal in LQNPA, he is really hawt and sexy in this on (*ahem* in a yerno kind of way.)

I don't think Fiorella has the photo anymore. She lost the notebook with all the info at the airport along with Gia's medications.

Did we ever figure out whether Fiorella could get her e-mail account back?

Lila, yet another fabulous recap. I love all the detail you provide!

"...she is mainly shut down and is peppered with scornful comments from the gathered hyenas", "...tears leak from her unbelieving eyes as Pedro leans in toward her wearing the face we met earlier in the story" and "...he wants to take her away from the madness and venom of the accusations" were among many favorites.

"...know, the novela love-starved don’t need a lot to make them happy but there follows a sweet and amorous little ballet". You nailed it – this was rather sexy and continues to build a solid foundation for Pedro and Fiorella’s affection.

"Simoneta pushes Benny’s chin up to close his mouth, chuckling that he’s going to let the flies in". Loved that scene – one of my favorites from last night.

I enjoy the lecherous Anibal being discovered and turned out almost immediately. Poor Julieta.

Initially, I thought Sergio was rather buffoonish. I like the subtle character shift and the fact we are seeing he loves his son and that buried under the layers, he is caring and perhaps more astute than we give him credit for.

It's clear Freddie is the brains here. I can't figure Osvaldo out. He is so angry and bitter, I can't determine what he is or isn't made of. I think his obsession with his wife makes concentration on anything else difficult for him.

I like Fiorella's joyous optimism over her future. While her new position is secure, I am less confident in Eloisa's acceptance of her as Pedro's novia.

Susanlynn and daisy, I am also (to my complete surprise) really liking Jose Ron. I like the character shift, seeing a softer and more romantic side of him.

Thank you Lila!

Diana

Doris...ha..yes, train engineer...was that the look that Fed was going for ? She is such a lazy, loathsome creature as she smirks and slithers around the mansion making mischief .

Does Sonia always wear cocktail dresses?...to work, at home ????

See y'all later. Bosses are here!

"Okay, I think the reason Freddy rarely goes out into the sunlight is because she is half vampire. Have we ever seen her reflection in a mirror? I can't remember."
BwaHahahahaaaa!

Grazie, Lila! La mia sorella! You make the bellissimo parts of this story even more bellissimo!

"Julieta discovers the emerald ring that her father gave her is missing from her jewelry box!" Seriously, Anibal? You picked THAT ring? What's your endgame, dude? I hope she sticks to never wanting to see him again.

"Eloisa announces: this may be a house filled with lunatics, but not with thieves!" If only Eloisa knew how unintentionally funny it was when she said that!

"Simoneta bursts in and breaks up this probably rare father son moment to announce that Julieta’s ring has been found! Hasn’t she ever learned to knock on a door!? Sergio exclaims! Indeed, Simoneta!" OK, I think I'm on Sergio's wavelength for this show...I'm feeling rather flighty and frivolous and oh, just gimme the romance and quit interrupting me with all that other stuff! Except I'm usually sober.

"Outside Pedro baits Anibal into telling the truth about his intentions toward Fiorella and the ring." That was nicely done! I only wish he'd done it before he made all his stupid accusations in the library, but I guess all is forgiven.

"Her assistant must have a uniform which fits the dignity of her position!" Duuuuuude, I am so totally stoked. I can't wait to see it.

"Gianna steps into Gael’s arms so he can show her the proper technique for hitting golf balls." Is that what the kids are calling it these days? *giggle*

"RPC with Dante and Freddie." No kidding. This "key" plot is stupid. But I would very much appreciate it if they continued to celebrate all their brilliant ideas with a high five instead of face smushing.

Pedro no longer needs my sympathy, so I'm relocating to the "Get to The Kissing Parts" table. What can I say...LG and LSDP left me starved for PDA :p

I'm guessing that she will be wearing business suits and have her hair up. The way Sonia should be dressing for the office.

Sooner or later someone will overhear Fiorella and Gia talking about Vittorio and the fur will really fly.

"How is it that Dante (and Fedora) have a copy of the safe key, when Eloisa supposedly has the only copy (hanging around her neck)?" Vivi, yes, that's what I'm thinking about this key plot! They plant the key in Fiorella's room and Eloisa says, "But the key has been hanging around my neck since ___." Are they going to suggest Fi is some kind of criminal mastermind and she's also hiding a key cutter under her bed?

Ugh, yes, Sonia's outfits...it's like she's going to a cocktail party every day. Does she think being rich means she's supposed to wear fancy dresses every day? If she likes them, more power to her, I guess, but she does tend to look ridiculously overdressed most of the time.

Kat, yes, I am in it for the romance. Jose Ron might be on my telenovio list. Let's see if his kissing technique improves. I am liking the tender whispers as he gets right on up into Fi's lovely facade. Go, Pedro, go. He did not hesitate to punch out Animal, so I have hopes that he will eventually open up another can of kicka$$ to serve to lazy, nasty Ozzie.

Regarding Fi's new uniform, it cannot be cuter or sexier than the one that she is currently wearing which reminds me of a Halloween style French maid's costume. OUI OUI.No wonder Animal was instantly putting the moves on her.

*sidles up to 5ft at the Get To The Kissing Parts table*

Can I order you a plate of "All I want is the fairy tale" cookies with a tall glass of "Swoon Juice"?

It probably won't happen, but I wish Fi's new uniform could still be floral dresses.

(Susanlynn, I have made a habit out of using "getting all up in someone's façade." I love it.)

Susanlynn *snort* Anibal would have been after Fi in a burlap sack. Which is not my choice of uniform, please, TN gods!

I don't think I've ever had much of an opinion on Jose Ron before, but I'm digging him in this role. Not so much when he's cranky Pedro, though. Nobody likes Cranky!Pedro.

Sara, bring it!

"All of this requires them to be in each other’s personal visual and thermal space. Their eyes lock and caress."

Oooh baby, I can tell you were loving that scene, Lila. And so was I! Color me dorky, but I just melt every time they play the theme song and he whispers gently in her ear, then the other ear, then the pause...the look...the approach...the gentle kiss. Yowza. Better than all those soft porn seduction scenes they're so fond of filming (and Univision is so fond of snipping!).

Glad the false accusation was resolved quickly. When I saw that coming last night, I turned it off and went upstairs to read. Figured I could handle it better the next day, after a good workout.

David, your Freddy observation is genius. Should be on the sidebar. I'm definitely on board. I hate that witch even more than the unctuous Anibal.

Thanks Ms. Lila. You're a trooper. And a blessedly romantic one at that.

Beautiful recap, Lila! Your descriptions were delightful and perfectly fit the scenes. Like everyone else, I too was swooning over the whispered comments. Pedro in love is definitely preferable to Cranky Pants Pedro. Sombra writers: ARE YOU WATCHING??? Actually, all TN writers: ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION??? (YNCELH is very good, but there's possibly even less romance in that TN than Sombra or LG).

I'm so glad Dante and Freddy chose to go ahead with this stupid plan right away because, as Diva said, it makes no sense. I'm thinking/hoping that will be the thing that saves Fi this time and (hopefully) gives support to her assertion that someone in the family is trying to frame her to get her kicked off of the ranch.

I think the new uniform makes sense. It would be kind of weird for her to be doing a PA's job dressed like a maid. Besides it'll help sell her as Pedro's "equal" (well, closer to his "equal") when the Vulture Family finally gets the news.

Ahm free! Ahm free! Sono libero! Sono libero! The noive, making me do my job at work!

Urban at 10:50. Interesting theory on Gael and yah, sneaky Freddie won't get away with it forever!

Vivi! Grazie, amica! Yes, I was wrong about Eloisa brining Aitana in as the personal assistant just as Fifi is wrong about who the mujer indicada is for Pedro! That Dante and Freddie, slimy creeps. Whose theory was that that Dante is a double agent. That would be so sweet!

Going down the comments, Daisy, and I see it was your theory. Wah! I don't want to give it up, even though it may be illogical. Gonna keep it on the back burner but you're welcome to let him join Roxi, Freddie and Anibal on the dart board!

Sara! Mille grazie, sorella carita mia! Girl, if I didn't like Simoneta so much, I'd have you punch her in the throat! And Peeeehhhdrrrrro! Ooooh! I'm glad I didn't see Jose in LQNPA!

Diana! Ciao e grazie! I always know when it's your comment! Thank you, honey! Yaaay! So glad as well that lech, Anibal, was discovered and kicked to the curb. I just didn't want imagine him sexually harassing poor Fiorella night after night! I hope Juliet sticks to her guns!

Now. I'm going to shamelessly pat myself on the back because I called this. I wasn't alone, but y'all can check the old recaps but you, my dear, nailed Sergio:

Initially, I thought Sergio was rather buffoonish. I like the subtle character shift and the fact we are seeing he loves his son and that buried under the layers, he is caring and perhaps more astute than we give him credit for.

He's still a pig for cavorting in his mom's bed, though!

Osvaldo's anger? Could it be that's this is not the first time he's had the horns put on him not to mention he seems genetically jealous of Pedro!

Good Lord, Urban! Elizabeth Báthory is one of the reasons contemplation of the existence of hell can be quite comforting! Yikes!

Diva! Mia Capitana y sorella, mille grazie! You know, I realize love is not just for the young and svelte but I have to agree with you on this, Diva:

I would very much appreciate it if they continued to celebrate all their brilliant ideas with a high five instead of face smushing.

Their face smushing almost nullifies Pedro's sweet kisses and whispers. Good thing his came last so I'm with you at the "Get to The Kissing Parts" table!

Sara and Kat, oh yeah. I could get all up in Pedro the chick whisper's facade. (Sara, I think that " up in your facade" is a refreshing alternative to " invading one's personal space.") Just do not place hands on the facade !ike Claire did to Laohaire. That can get you into trouble.

I am still confused about Julieta's relationship to ELoisa..just a friend ? Are Juli and Animal wealthy? Neither of them seems to be employed.

Sara - If those are the flavors, bring on the cookies and juice!
Lila - "genetically jealous" LOLOLOL!!! Also, YAAAASSSSS! He's worse than Roberta in CME (aka Virginia in LI). It's hard to be compared to the Golden Boy, but his face is stuck on scowl and his attitude is stuck on "Forever Angry." Ugh!
Diva - I misquoted you; it should've been Cranky!Pedro

Mille grazie, JudyB amica mia! Girl! If you're dorky for melting when they play the themesong, then my picture is next to dork in the dictionary! Yes! Luuuuuving it, child! And it IS better than the hacked up porn lite love scenes!

Unctuous You win the word of the day, JudyB! I don't think I've ever used that word before! It sounds like what it means! Love it!

Hellashelle Sorella mia! Yes, Pedro in love has got it waaaay over Cranky Pants Pedro! If we are novela-love-starved, I can only imagine what Pedro must be after years with poor needy and manipulative Tania (EPD). Hella, is it possible we can get to fired up over this early romance? TN gods, let them love! Let them love!

sara..Now I want some of those cookies. I don't need the Swoon Juice as I am on autoswoon most of the time being a hopeless romantic.

Carla Estrada knows how to do romance. I wish that she would return to the telenovela world.

Susanlynn - I believe Julieta's mom was close friends with Eloisa. She and Sergio grew up together and apparently they were close enough that it was thought that they would marry, so must have dated at one point.

Since they run in the same circles, I'm guessing at least Julieta's wealthy.

My favorite play of Pedro's last night was when he was leaving Fifi's room, backing out, and sort of blowing kisses, then, waving at her through the glass doors as he makes an awkward exit, like an embarrassed teenager...oh it was loverly!

J in O

Yeah, J, that was so sweet. He looked so excited and had a "first time" vibe about him. Totally cute scene!

Hella, is it possible we can get to fired up over this early romance? I'm with you, Lila! I'm definitely willing to pick up some pom poms for these beautiful moments of love ;)

Aw, Carla Estrada! I was getting all nostalgic over Alborada talk and MDET memories in the Weekend Topic. Now there's a lady that knows how to give viewers a good show!

Speaking of beverages, is that a grasshopper, hellashelle?

Well, it's been a verra romantic day here. Hub and I spent the day making big pots of spaghetti sauce and chili to freeze for winter meals...whispering "Please chop the onions " and " Could you open those cans of diced tomatoes?"

Ay yi yi, Susanlynn..a fella who will cook with you. And chop up the onions! Mama mia that's more romantic than a thousand whispered kisses, any day. They say love starts in the kitchen, so enjoy your evening!

judyb..He is definitely a keeper. I like to get all up in that facade. He does most of the cooking now, but sometimes we cook together. He is great on the grill. Not much of a whisperer though.

This has been on my mind for a little bit- Sergio and Frederica seem to share the same genes when it comes to fashion choices. They've both worn some bold and questionable pieces. I seem to remember a coat and a few shirts on Sergio that seemed questionable.

This adds nothing to the conversation, but a wanted to share. ;-)

I wanted to share. QTH, autocorrect?

The secret password is "questionable."

Sara...yeah, I ken. Ye wanted to share. That autocorrect is verra questionable. (Note : This comment was whispered.)

sara...Serg evidently did not inherit the hat gene . Maybe it is recessive like red hair. I tune in nightly to check at Fed's fashion faux pas. I cannot wait to see her anvil...not Dante ..the other anvil .

Y'all killin' me! :D

Killin' me softly!? :D

The more ponder Freddie's attire last night, it is more like that old SNL skit with Steve Martin and Dan Akroyd as those the wild and crazy Eastern European guys !

Susanlynn - No, it was a Melon Margarita actually! I went out with some friends while Sombra was going and I decided I finally had a reason to have a profile pic.

Your kitchen romance is giving me shivers, just imagining a hunky galan willing to chop onions. Whoo! When it's the right person, everything just sounds so good! (also, lol: I like to get all up in that facade.

Yeah, Sergio and Fedorica both have rather flamboyant fashion choices, but that's ok with me. I like it when our characters have off the wall clothes. Sometimes they feel so cookie cutter: Young antag? Tight, short dresses. Older antag? Poofy hair, weird collars and a rosary. Sweet, young female protag or bff of protag? A-line sundresses. Ranch hands? Jeans, plaid shirts, cowboy hats...ok, well that last one could just be practicality. And I like A-line dresses, but you guys get my point. I like some variety. Even if it's weird.

Except the flowy, man scarves. Not a fan.

Judyb..The PA. Dutch gave a saying. " Kissing don't last ; cooking do." In my case, its not true. I hate to cook. I cooked meals every night, but now I only do it if I have to. However , I still like kissing.

Hellashelle - Oh I'm highly entertained by Sergio's and Frederica's wardrobe! My comment was not meant as a complaint.

I hate cooking. But my husband seems to fund my attempts edible. He says sexy stuff too. Like "want me to bring home Chinese take-out?"

Sara...hells yeah..takeout is verra verra sexy...pizza, Philly cheese steaks, barbeque....imagine me ✴whispering those savory nothings ✴

doris!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two wild and crazy guys!!!!!!!!!!! I *love* that sketch.

(I've changed into fairy tale cookies, but I don t think they show up very well.)

I especially love when my husband whispers "Let's go get Thai food". "I feel like Korean" gives me shivers of delight.

(Not sure the recipe on my fairy tale cookies is quite right. I'm working on it.)

Lila, thanks for a juicey recap. Freddy and dante are yucky, but they get each other so ok. Pedro is not very trusting of fifi. One moment hes so in love, and the next hes acuseing her of being a thief with the rest of
The family. Hes knows they're a bunch of crooks and yet he jumps In the chorus of acusations with the rest of the bozo clan. He
Knows perfectly well that one of them could have Planted that ring in her stuff.
How trustworthy is he? We'll see when goldy
-locks shows up, his ex, who granny loves.
Benny, still not likin him. Don't understand him. Don't care.

Grazie, Nina! It was a fun show!
