Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #19 Fri 9/18/15 (Mex 24-25) Love Comes a Calling!

Pedro surfaces from pain-killer induced sleep when Fiorella enters the room.  He asks her to come closer.  He repeats over and over that he loves her and they kiss tenderly.   He wants her by his side, always.  She tries without success to shush him.  He loves her and he wants to shout it; her wants to marry her and have children; have a beautiful family.  “I’m going to fight for you, to get my Grandmother to accept you; that’s what I’m going to do, I promise I will do whatever I have to for her to accept you into the family.”  Pedro is so deliriously passionate that Fifi gets alarmed and runs to go get the Dr.  We see Dante slink away from the door.

Remember that a Detective overheard Sonia and Osvaldo arguing about Pedro’s shooting, the words “attempted murder” having leapt out into the air.  The Detective hovers over Sonia and Osvaldo.  This is one of many times that he’ll sputter that it all happened so fast, he’s unclear on details.  Wait.  What’s this?  Gael comes forward to say he saw the whole thing, his brother stumbled and the gun went off accidentally.  Detective dude sternly instructs them to go down to the police station and make formal declarations.  He leaves.  Sonia is surprised and disbelieving of Gael’s story.  Well, she’s going to give her statement now and get it over with.  She leaves.  A gobsmacked Osvaldo thanks Gael for covering for him.  Gael shrugs off the thanks:  he simply thinks it wouldn’t be good for the Angeles to have him go to prison and when Pedro wakes up, Osvaldo is going to tell him everything!  Gael strides away.

RPC of Roxi and Beni at the sauna.  He is sweating profusely while she behaves like a rank skank as she teases and then rejects him as beneath her.  When she put her toes on his face he should have twisted them right off her foot and fed them to her.

Pedro is more alert now.  Gael and the Dr. are with him and tell him he was shot.  The Dr. leaves and Pedro asks for Fiorella.  Gael, unaware that she was indeed there, states Fiorella has not been there.  Pedro smiles a gentle but confident smile as he insists that she was.  After Gael leaves Pedro finds the Saint Biagio holy card in his bed.  The self-satisfaction in his smile deepens.  “I knew it.  FioRELLLA!”

Back at the ranch, Sergio and Freddie have a little tete-a-tete on the settee:  she refuses to tell him what all the papers were about and tries to distract him by reading a card that says he must leave floozies alone.  It’s a fail.  Sergio will bide his time:  todo cae por su propio pesa – everything falls under its own weight; things will shake out in the end:  one day he will find out what she’s hiding.  He leaves and a call comes in for Freddie.  It’s Dante telling her all about Pedro’s declaration of love to Fifi and he thinks Pedro is serious and determined.  One thing’s clear:  they’ve got to get THIS little Italian floozy OUT of the game!

More drama at the hospital as Gael, Sonia and Osvaldo exit Pedro’s room.  Fifi and Gigi are together and Fifi wants to see Pedro again.  Sonia snips that she needs to get back to the house to wash dishes!  After the girls walk a ways down the hall Osvaldo snips that Sonia ran Fifi off out of jealousy!  What is she going to do, run all the nurses away, too?  He demands she go home:  he does NOT want her near Pedro!  Once Sonia leaves Gael insists Osvaldo tell Pedro exactly what happened.

In Pedo’s room Osvaldo has yet another round of stammering through his fantasy version of the shooting of Pedro.  Pedro is pretty alert and questions him closely:  what did he trip over, where exactly was he; didn’t he see Pedro; where was everybody else?  Oh, the terror Osvaldo felt!  The weight of the possibility of death falls on Pedro.  Osvaldo doesn’t want Eloisa to know what happened!  She’ll kick him out of the company, she’ll never forgive him!  Gael disagrees but Pedro considers Osvaldo’s pleas.

Granny Eloisa is in bed resting after having fainted at the retreat after having relived, according to the Guru’s direction, the moment when she euthanized Maximo with a pillow.  Aitana enters her quarters, sits on the bed and remarks how much better she looks.  Cut to the chase:  Granny wants to know if Aitana wants Pedro back.  Yes, she does.  Granny declares that they will work together to make it so.

Osvaldo and Sonia at the ranch finally tell Sergio that Pedro has been shot.  Gael, Roxi and Freddie are also there and the collective affect of the room is deadpan in contrast to Sergio, who is livid that he was not informed!   He takes off to see Pedro in the hospital!

Yes, my friends, we are victims of the Univision scissors but tranquilo!   Andrà tutto bene; todo va estar bien; it’s all right, we will get the gist of the story.

At the employee’s quarters Fiorella excitedly tells Gianna she must go see Pedro and takes off.  Beni comes in, asks where Fifi is going, Gigi tells him and he  takes off after her.  Gigi is annoyed.

Ramiro and Osvaldo are, where? At  the office?  Not sure because we jumped here suddenly.  On closer questioning, Ramiro has to admit that he is only sure that he saw Sonia leaving the hotel with wet hair and getting into the car of a man whom he didn’t really see.  He just surmised by the way she and Pedro were acting later that it was Pedro.  Osvaldo blows up!  He almost (almost, he says) committed an act of madness because of that idiot!  He would fire Ramiro but he needs him to follow Sonia and report on her every move!

Fiorella arrives at the hospital and Sergio overrules Dante’s attempt to bar her from Pedro’s hospital room.  Sergio sends Dante away, takes his place outside the door and lets Fiorella go in.  Sergio gains points with Recapper!

Fifi sits on Pedro’s bed and tenderly strokes his head and asks how he is.  He opens his eyes and looks at her and thanks her for returning.  Why?  For the holy card of Saint Biagio.  She left it so he could be cured.  Fiorella tentatively reminds him of some “things” he was saying when he was delirious.

I remember perfectly what I told you.

Well, don’t worry I imagine it was the medicine.

No, the sedatives made me say what I felt.  I can’t continue to bear the burden that you rejected me.

I didn’t reject you, I only asked that you give me time.

And I got angry.  After everything that happened, I understand why I got angry and it wasn’t because of your rejection.  I got angry because I love you, Fiorella.

I love you as well, Sr. Pedro, but things are not easy.

I know, they are not easy but I will do what I have to do so that we can be together.  Fiorella sighs and looks off into the distance.  Pedro asks,  What’s the matter?

Grandma Eloisa and all your family.

They have to accept you.  I will not renounce you and the love I feel for you for anyone or anything, Fiorella.

The theme song swells as the two kiss, meaningfully and tenderly!  Ahhhhhh!

Julieta and Aitana sit with Eloisa in the parlor at the retreat.  Julieta dismisses a phone call from Anibal and Granny uses this as an opportunity to challenge Julieta to change her tactic with Anibal and reconquer his love as Aitana is going to do with Pedro!  I’m sorry Aitana fans, this chick does NOT look kosher to me, nor very pretty.  Recapper’s priveledge to diss the competition.  Opinions may vary and are welcome!

Ramiro is doing his job and sees silly Sonia at the window in a hotel.  It is dark outside so she is perfectly illuminated and on front street, that means exposed, on blast!  Fabio comes up behind her to nuzzle her neck and Ramiro takes it all in.  Moments later we see Osvaldo in an office trying to get into someone’s desk when Ramiro calls him to report that Sonia is in a hotel room with Fabio Mattai, their Italian business partner!  Osvaldo explodes again!  Because of Ramiro, he almost committed murder!  What an idiot Ramiro is!  I know y’all will deconstruct the “logic” of this exclamation.

Okay.  I admit to not knowing what this next scene with Roxi and Gael is about.  He has come into her bedroom to plead with her that they need to talk about the explosive feelings he has inside.  She, of course, is dismissive as she does some kind of work out routine.  Whatever it is could affect the whole family.  Is he boinking her, or want to boink her or what?  Aren’t they, like, close relatives?  Feel free to fill in, folks.  Perhaps my loathing of Roxi is preventing me from understanding.

Osvaldo attacks Fabio in the parking ramp of the hotel and lets him know it’s for boinking his wife.  He delivers some good punches and a few kicks for good measure.

Fifi and Gigi share some girl talk and giggles about the beautiful things Pedro told her.  He was totally conscious and in possession of his five senses!

Outside Pedro’s room Sonia and Osvaldo size up the dirt each has on the other.  He knows she’s been boinking Fabio, she knows he shot Pedro on purpose.  They threaten to expose each other to Granny and the Police respectively.  It’s her word against his!  Sonia threatens to tell Pedro the truth RIGHT NOW and charges toward his room!

Back at the employees quarters, Simoneta heads for the hills as slimy Anibal comes into the kitchen to flirt with and insult Fiorella.  He assumes she has been propositioning Pedro and tells her as much.  He thinks she should go with him; he can give her a better life than Pedro:  money, dresses, jewels.  He offers her a gaudy ring.  Freddie has slinked up to the kitchen door and listens to the whole interchange out of sight.  Fifi rejects him and Anibal tries to get physical.  Fifi resists and he dares her to scream.  She has remained firm and fearless but cracks a little when he threatens her job.  No, she needs the job!  Freddie comes into the kitchen and Fiorella quickly covers by saying that Sr. Anibal had found a ring that they were looking for.  Fifi quickly excuses herself.  Freddy eyes Anibal contemptuously.

In Pedro’s room Osvaldo concocts a story that the partnership with Fabio has to be dissolved because Osvaldo discovered that Fabio was cheating them.  Sonia looks as if her intestines are doing somersaults.   Fabio calls while Osvaldo is spinning this web of lies.  Fabio says he didn’t tell Pedro about the beating he took from him out of respect for his wife.  Osvaldo manages to address the issue of Fabio’s affair with Sonia on one level while broadcasting to Pedro the supposed swindle Fabio committed on another.  They are through doing business with Fabio’s company!  The contracts are cancelled!  Osvaldo hangs up on him.  Pedro maintains that Osvaldo is NOT the one to handle this matter.  They must get proof of Fabio’s deception and then HE will annul all their contracts.  Right now, the thing to do is to remain calm.  Osvaldo insists he will take care of this.  He tries to lead Sonia from the room.  Wait.  Pedro still doesn’t get what this has to do with him being shot!  Well, uh, what had happened was, that uh, a call came in about Fabio’s dirty tricks with them and he lost concentration and, well, you know, the accident, it all happened so fast!  Pedro actually tries to listen to Sonia’s take on the deterioration of the Italian deal but Osvaldo shuts her down.

Dante enters the room to announce that Granny will be returning from the retreat tomorrow!  Uh oh!  Pedro will leave the hospital and get home to the ranch BEFORE Granny!

Cut to Anibal on the phone with Julieta learning that she will be home tomorrow.  Aw fudge, he must be thinking,  this spoils his plans to well, you know what he planned.  He puts the ring he had offered Fifi back into Julieta’s jewelry box and goes off to take a shower.  Freddie silently slides into the room, takes the ring and promptly goes into Fifi and Gigi’s room and leaves the ring in an open drawer.

Sonia and Osvaldo get ready to receive Granny as she arrives home after her retreat.  Osvaldo warns Sonia not to do anything else stupid.  He’s had enough!  As a matter of fact, she can just stay in the bedroom, HE will welcome Granny on behalf of them both and off he stomps to the living room.

Eloisa and Julieta arrive home, welcomed by Pedro, in a sling, Sergio, Osvaldo, Gael, Freddie and Roxi.  Granny is alarmed and frets over Pedro.  What happened?  Osvaldo offers loudly that he fell from a horse.  Granny accepts this after Pedro assures her he is fine.  They sit down and Eloisa is fairly glowing!  It was an excellent decision to go on the retreat and it was wonderful!  Sergio jokes that she must have met a gentleman!  Bah!  Well, Pedro thinks she looks happy.  Yep, she is!  Happy and Determined.  Determined to find a fitting woman for Pedro to marry and give her long awaited great grandchildren!   Osvaldo protests that he and Sonia are working on that!  Freddie makes a snide remark about not wanting that imagery in her head, which amuses Roxi.  Pedro tries to tell Granny that she doesn’t have to worry about finding him a woman. . . .Granny’s on a roll.  She has also decided that she needs a personal assistant to be her exclusive aide in all the decisions and affairs of her life.  Eloisa blows off Roxi’s offer and that of Freddie, Sonia (put forth by Osvaldo) and even Sergio and declares that she needs someone she can trust and NONE of them fit the bill!  She would prefer any stranger that would happen to appear at this very instant. . .

. . .and into the room floats the pretty Fiorella in her crisp black uniform accented with delicate white lace, carrying a tray with a pitcher of water.  Pedro turns and looks at her with a gentle smile.  Fiorella sweeps the gathering with a questioning look.  And, cut!

Okay, y'all, there it is. You know, I think Eloisa is going to bring Aitana into the Ranch as her personal assistant. Fifi just happened to enter the room I'm thinking but I'm confused because she was given orders NOT to enter the Big House. Did I miss something?

Anywho, see y'all in the morning!

Thanks so much, Lila. I think you're right on the money about who Eloisa is hiring as her personal assistant. Now Aitana can join the fun. And why now? Julieta and her husband seem to be living there for no reason at all. Don't they have their own house?

I'm hating this sexual harassment of Fiorella by Anibal and that Fed is adding more fuel to the fire with the ring. I guess this will be the first test of Pedro's love to see if he believes the worst of Fi, or if he continues to trust her.

I love that Pedro was certain Fi visited and remembered what he said, and said it again.

Glad we have confirmation that Gael and Osvaldo are brothers, so that cuts missing family members down to one-- their father, who must have been Eloisa and Max's son. Now we just need to find out what happened to him and his wife, and why both of their sons are so screwed up. Hate that Gael backed up Osvaldo and lied that he saw Os stumble and accidentally shoot Pedro.

I'm re-thinking the above comment. Maybe Pedro has asked Fiorella to start serving in the Big House as a part of his plan to gain her acceptance in the family. . . you know, expose Granny to her brightness and charm, thus completely stealing her heart. Or, Eloisa HAS asked Fifi to personally attend her and they didn't show it. I understood "Personal Assistant" to be more of an administrative/organizational/confidant vs. maid/lady in waiting type of position, thus Aitana. So, can't wait to see what y'all think.

Anyone else surprised to hear Gael call Osvaldo his brother? We had speculated on it but these two have certainly given no indication of even being related other than being under the same roof. I can't even remember them even really talking to each other! They've done a good job portraying the emotional disconnect and lack of affection in this group. The closest thing to familial love I've seen, other than Granny for Pedro, is Sergio for Pedro.

Okay. Y'all sleeping in this morning. It's cool! It's raining here so I'm going back to the sack to enjoy it myself.

Ci vediamo tutti più tardi! See y'all later!

And why not, not now.

Lila- I'm not sleeping in today. I have a house guest conning later this afternoon, and I've barely unpacked from Brazil. I've got housework to do!

Oh, Vivi! Buongiorno, amica mia! Yes, Vivi! That scene with Anibal was well done and thus felt grimy and infuriating. Pleeeease, let Pedro believe Fiorella! Don't let this be the first separating factor in their newly budding relationship! And pleeeease, don't let him allow Granny to "force him" into giving Aitana a chance!

Yes! Who is Osvaldo and Gael's father? They are playing this very close. Well done! Grazie, Vivi!

Hey, Vivi! Take a load off every now and then and use the Patio as a reward for completed housework. . .and check back in when your guest is freshening up!

;D

Great stuff, Lila. And you missed nothing.

This is #24 & 25 gutted. I am really hating this.

There was some stuff missing with phone calls with Dante and Federica, but no new news there, also a little sister-talk between Gia and Fiorella. The main missing element was the happenings at La Dolce Vita and the aftertalk:

Reynaldo and Adele (out of apron for a change) went to La Dolce Vita where they were graciously greeted by Vittorio, who kissed Adele's hand. She kissed him back on the cheek, but he had Diana give them the best table in the house. In a later scene Adele summoned Diana to the table in a manner that can only be called naca and tricked her by asking "How is your sister, Lucia?" When she answered "Very well, thank you" Adele knew that the whole thing about the baby being "Susanna"'s child was a mentira. Later at home Adele and Reynaldo talked about this and he was basically telling her that this was none of their business. In the next scene Diana and Vittorio had some wine after close of business and a conversation about how busy the place was that evening. Also that they were leaving together. He almost said something about Fiorella.

So I think we can expect that they will finally be facia a facia muy pronto.

BTW here is a link to the video of a NY Philharmonic concert of Italian film score exerpts. Enjoy!

This family is going to lead ME to drink! Thanks for this luscious recap Lila. Reading through the antics again last night and your thoughts, have to say this is one confusing group of people.

I always twitch when the writers have people screaming undying love right at the start after only a couple meetings and maybe one major kiss session. I guess it's good for the story, but it starts everything to me at just too unbelievable of a level then when they have their "I don't believe you" or "you deceived me" moments. Love someone THAT much, where's the trust??? Ok, rant over.

So we're all probably figuring that the ring will make trouble, especially with Fi and her "mother", not just Pedro. Have to throw a monkey wrench into that as well.
And I don't think Fi is the assistant...I think it's going to Aitana flounce her little butt into the household and Grammie is going to be all about pushing the two together.

And can I say I just want to slap Eloisa silly. Nothing makes me more insane than when you hear someone tell a young man or woman they have to find someone fast so grandchildren can be produced. It's like I'll find you someone fast who you sort of get along with and now go at it. Hello, cute little grandchildren grow up. And in that environment?? Poor little thing.

Really Gael? Brotherly love or being stupid. And Roxy--WTH??

Have to say, if they slice and dice he Vitto/Diane stuff out, I will be more than happy. Those two together are something I can do without.

Have fun Vivi! I'm with you on the having to clean after a trip. Don't you wish somehow it would just do it to itself while we are gone?

Daisynjay

Buongiorno y mille grazie, Urban! Thank you for that missing bit, Urban but I have a question? What was the cover story Diana made up about her baby involving a Susana? Was Diana saying that her mother was really a friend named Susana and that it was Susana's baby? I ask because when Adele ran into Diana's mom and the baby at the market, she made a point to ask what the relationship was to the baby. When Diana's mom said it was her grandson, Adele played it cool, but it seemed that was new information.

And agree, faccia a faccia è in arrivo molto presto! OMG! Grazie for the link, Urban! Mille grazie! This is going to accompany me during MY Saturday housework and it's even called La Dolce Vita!

Lila, I savored every word of this marvelous recap.

"rank skank", "I’m sorry Aitana fans, this chick does NOT look kosher to me, nor very pretty. Recapper’s priveledge to diss the competition" and "Fiorella sweeps the gathering with a questioning look" were but a few of my favorites.

I was confused as to why no one told Sergio of the shooting. I was pleasantly surprised he relieved Dante of his gate keeping duties and allowed Fiorella to enter Pedro’s room! He is foolish but not without hope.

Gattorno portrays Anibal’s sliminess perfectly. When he plays a good character, you love him. When he doesn’t…well, you know.

UA, thanks for filling in what we missed. I'm not sure I've ever seen episodes being chopped this early on. It's a shame as we are likely losing crucial details that may be missing puzzle parts later on.

I was also disappointed Gael chose to shield Osvaldo by lying about what happened.

Freddie seems to be the cleverest villain here and certainly the most dangerous.

Continuing to enjoy Pedro and Fiorella although the hidden jewel will likely thwart any progression in their romance promptly.

Lila, thank you!

Diana

Buongiorno, Daisy! I'll have what you're having! These people ARE a trip, aren't they! And you've heard my pleas above about the whole I love you/but don't trust you schtick! It would be so sweet if they would let Pedro and Fifi believe in each other and be a united core of warm kissiness in the center of the cyclone of craziness that we KNOW Sonia/Osvaldo and Dante/Freddie, Julieta/Anibal, Benny and Vitto are going to unleash! Wouldn't that be wunnerful?

Okay, you and Vivi also see, like me, that it must be Aitana who will be the assistant. I see you're also on the same page with Roxi=WTH?? I still don't know what that little scene with Gael meant. I wish he would leave that wench alone and get to know Gigi, who is wasting her time with stupid Benny though Benny may be around just in time to break up a more serious attempt at assault by the slimy Anibal (too many balls, if you ask me!)

Thanks so much, Lila , for another snappy recap. When I read your recaps, I can feel your positive energy.

Well, I am starting to like Serg. He may be a Playboy Peter Pan, but he seems to love his son, and he does not seem malicious like many (most) of these people.

So..enter more competition for poor Fi...the pretty Aitana. The chicks all want pretty Pedro.

Feddy found her freakin' hat, so here we go. Most of her time seems to be spent putting together avant garde outfits, collecting hats, and slithgeriung around that mansion making mischief.

Well, we are off for breakfast with friends...then a birthday party...then grocery schooling..then essays to correct. 84 today, but the temps will droop into the 70s thus week. Hello Fall.

Diana! Mille grazie! Diana, dysfunctional is not accurate enough a descriptor for this family. That we had to be told Gael and Osvaldo were brothers fits right in with the cold-hearted dimwits not telling Pedro's own father he was shot! Sheesh!

Diana, I am enjoying Pedro and Fiorella as well. There is so much sliminess, skankiness and sneakiness going on and apparently there is NO appealing side romance (Gael and Gigi could be but she wants Benni; Diana lost me by "killing" her own son to snag Mr. Got Rocks) -- heck, we don't have a side romance at all so let them allow Pedro and Fiorella to fiercely love each other amidst the madness! We gotta have some lovin'!

Susanlynn! Awww, grazie amica, mille grazie! Yes, I had said I loved Sergio but changed it to him gaining points because I remembered that shameless romp with two strompets in HIS MAMA'S BED!

Have fun at breakfast and the birthday party and when you get back, tell me how do "school groceries"? ;D

Thanks for another sparkling recap, Lila, and I love that dicho "las cosas caen por su proprio peso". I think I read it first in Peoplenespañol magazine, and was always trying to figure out how to throw it into one of my lame attempts at conversation.

And totally with you on the "recapper's privilege to diss the competition". Something about Aitana's mouth and bright red lipstick look predatory. We're dealing with aggressive cleavage, predatory lips, and slimy sneakiness on the part of Federicka. I hate these middle parts where there is so much ugly scheming. I always want to jump right into Happy Ever After Land. I do love Señor Pietro and Fiorella together. So sweet.

Got a kick out of Detective Dude. He does look workmanlike and serious. And as baffled with you about the Gael/Roxana scene. Boring and pointless. If they're cutting out scenes, why leave that one in? The Diana/Vittorio scenes seem more germane to the intrigue.

Intrigued by the phrase Eloisa used with Juliana about infidelity. "Es come te cambien el plato y que te dejen la mosca." What an image! Hope I don't have occasion to use that one any time soon.

Thanks as always Lila, for your hard work. And Vivi, what a trooper, welcoming a house guest after just getting back from a long trip. You have the gift of hospitality and friendship m'dear. May it ever be thus. Looking forward to spending some time with your pics from Brazil.

Sorry..typo "es COMO te cambien el plato....

Judy! Judy! JudyB! You are welcome, hon! . . .We're dealing with aggressive cleavage, predatory lips, and slimy sneakiness on the part of Federicka. Hee Hee! Aitana's eyes look a little spacey, I see pain in them, I see entitlement and a quiet excitement that she has a chance to get Pedro back, a second chance at a happiness that eluded her wherever she was and whatever she was doing. Either the actress is damned good or I've got an over active imagination!

Hmmm....will have to check out those spacey crazy eyes next time I watch. But I'll need to tear my own eyes off Pedro's baby blues in order to do that. But it will be interesting to watch her because i have never seen this actress before. Should be intriguing.

Lila – thank you for the recap!

Oh my yes, the profession of undying love within the primeras semanas . . . more like infatuation … and the Patio has to suffer (because we HAVE to watch-LOL) for the next (how-many?) months. What I liked about Amores Verdaderos was that it took a while for the protags’ relationship to develop. It had a semblance of reality.

"recapper's privilege to diss the competition" – LOL!
Of course Eloisa’s personal assistant will be Aitana – she of the untrustworthy-looking hair, eyes and clothes. No me cae bien.

Susanlynn - LOL I truly believe your tablet’s auto-correct/spell check is your mortal enema.

Eloisa won’t be so fond of Fiorella when she learns that Pedro is in love Fi.

Aw, JudyB, Pedro's eyes are dreeeeeeeamy!

Doris! Hey, girl! Grazie! Ok, thanks Doris, maybe the only one thinking Fifi will be the personal assistant is Pedro or maybe he wasn't thinking that at all, but got all squishy and goofy-eyed just at the sight of his beloved! Oh, what love can do for the eyes, for the smile, for the whole countenance! Pedro is smitten! You are right about Eloisa falling out of infatuation with Fiorella when she learns that Pedro is in love with her and all hands are on deck to make it so as I mentioned earlier: Sonia/Osvaldo; Dante/Freddie and Anibal and Benni as "independent agents." Now, with Eloisa, if Fiorella sees any hidden darkness or secrets within Aitana, she will definitely call it out and that could cause Eloisa to look differently at Aitana.

Now, we don't know how Aitana got along with Freddie, Roxi and Sonia. We will soon find out but I see her siding with the Vulturettes. The ring WILL cause problems and Fifi will be painted as a cheap trick making a little money on the side by sleeping with the master. That will turn Julieta against her. If Fiorella and Vitto finally meet, HE may make a stink about her having promised to marry him and then stiffed him once she and her sister got to Mexico. This won't look good either. I just hope we don't spend the majority of this thing with Pedro being convinced he didn't really know Fifi, treating her with scowling disdain while he grins and bears it through a loveless relationship with Aitana!

No! I'm scaring myself!

I should say Benni will want to keep Fifi and Pedro apart, not necessarily make her look bad in Granny's eyes. I think his self-appointed guardian angleship could really help Fiorella at some point: her enemies in the house are many AND dangerous. Freddie would not be above murder, nor would Anibal.

Who are her (and Gigi's) allies in the house? Simoneta, Benny, and Sergio, I think for sure. Gael could be but he's under some kind of Roxi spell. Joaquina has that mother bear thing going for Roxi, who treats her like what bears leave in the woods, but she would take Roxi's part in a heart beat.

Ok. I need to go do housework stuff.

Sort of depressing outlook when you think about it Lila with so many hands on deck to work against Fifi. Need to ask the patio, is Fifi for all purpose an illegal? She came with Vitto's blessing, but does she have the right ability to get out and find another job somewhere if she is starting to be treated like dirt? Need to clarify so I can understand her staying and putting up with crap for the job and her sister's needs (aka money). Otherwise, the girl goes through hell and he of the baby blues gets sucked into those intrigues, I would want her salvaging her pride and get the hell out. Frankly, go find Vitto, realize he's an old coot and say, "you lied to me. Engagement is off but help me find a job. You owe me."

But that would be logical and that never happens in TN's. Sad face :(

Note: for our latest change on the dart boards, I couldn't resist and there is a nice big blowup of Freddy in the god-awful 60's cap look. Have at it all! A nice glass of Piedmont Moscato offered with every.

Daisynjay

She probably is because she fled the airport after the misunderstanding at the customs inspection. How she got out at all is a mystery because there should have been major security in that area. Their visas aren't stamped.

This would probably not be a problem unless Anibal, Julietta, Federica, Sonia, or Rox found out. Any one of them would pay a bribe to get rid of our italianas.

True, she should locate Vittorio and let him have it for deceiving her into thinking he was 35 when he's actually 75. He does owe her because he's paying back a debt to her father.

Grazie, Lila! I enjoyed the recap!

"RPC of Roxi and Beni at the sauna." It bugs me so much that she treats it like a tanning booth...do the writers not understand the concept of a sauna?

"Osvaldo doesn’t want Eloisa to know what happened! She’ll kick him out of the company, she’ll never forgive him!" There was something deliciously amusing about a grown man saying "Please don't tell grandma I shot you!"

"Granny declares that they will work together to make it so." Ugh. That's all I have to say about this and about Aitana. Ugh.

"Sergio gains points with Recapper!" I'm with you on that. I liked him pulling rank with Dante.

"I admit to not knowing what this next scene with Roxi and Gael is about." I was under the impression Gael needed to talk to somebody about knowing his brother's a big lying liar who shot Pedro on purpose...but why pick Roxi?!

...maybe because Roxi does not have a problem with lying liars who lie. He probably thought she was safe to confide in because she seems to be on shaky moral ground, and she won't see any reason to rat the bros out to Gram.

Maybe because Rox isn't a fan of Assvaldo, who probably dumps on her just as much as Federica. Honestly she doesn't get along with anyone else in this house, either Upstairs or Downstairs.

Hmm, Daisy, I never really thought about her immigration status! The whole interaction with Anibal was a total downer and she was standing up for herself but I felt her wilt when he threatened her job. I KNOW they will not let Fifi give in in any way to Anibal's threats! Aye! Perish the thought!

Who all is on the dart board, Daisy?

Diva! Amica e Capitana mia! I hope your concerts are going well! What a gift it is to be able to sing (and people actually want to hear it!)

I was under the impression Gael needed to talk to somebody about knowing his brother's a big lying liar who shot Pedro on purpose...but why pick Roxi?!

Thanks for this, Diva! I totally didn't get this. I guess he didn't go to Sergio I guess because Sergio would NOT keep it under wraps and what. . .would Granny throw him (Gael) out because of the sins of Osvaldo?

There was that certain irony of Julieta's husband propositioning Fiorella, while we on the Patio speculate that Fi might well be Julieta's daughter. Major ick factor.

What was up with that scarf wrapped around Fedrica's head. And that hat, later on? Her head-wear is a bit much. Perhaps they are her antifashion telenovela beanie hats!

Ooo, right on on the "ICK factor", Doris! Another reason why I hope they let Pedro and Fiorella maintain a united front and keep loving each other, even if they have to steal away to do so!

Oh, Lila! I got such a kick out of "Well, uh, what had happened was..." because that's exactly how every BS story my students tell begins...

Thanks for the recap!

Hey, Sara! Grazie! Girl, I knew you would get it and that's exactly what I was going for, the BS effect! Thanks!

;D

Thanks UA, I had a feeling maybe she was not possibly cleared to be a resident of the country. Though how Gianna was helped in the hospital and signed in not being a national??? Ok, giving myself a headache.

Lila, I swear, I seriously considered re-decorating the patio with dart boards on all the walls. This TN seems ripe with people I would like to throw a few darts at. Freddy is just too darn perfect to keep updating with the latest of her "fashionable" looks. Roxy is still up there because, well, she's Roxy. I honestly, on the third, which had been empty, I think Anibal seems a great candidate after that ring move. Thoughts?

Daisynjay

Hi, Lila! Thanks for this detailed overview of the misadventures of the Angeles family.

Have I misunderstood something about consanguinity in this household? Isn't Gael Roxy's nephew? Yet isn't he interested in her in a girlfriend-boyfriend way?

I seems to me that in this household, you win the right to have a longer hem length by being with the family longer. Thus Fi has a mid thigh-length dress, while Joaquina has a knee length dress - kind of like hash marks on the left sleeve of an old naval Chief Petty Officer.

Don't understand Gael's reasoning for lying about Osvaldo's murder attempt. Shooting Pedro is just another example of this character's impulsive bad judgment.

Yeah, Aitana is surely going to be Eloisa's personal assistant.

We've got Dexter, the 9mo brother of the twins over. He has recently learned to army crawl, and so has become a rug rocket.

Thanks again, Lila. You always light up our weekends.

David

Hey, Daisy! Roxy, Freddy and Anibal for sure! I think some folk would probably like Diana up there for claiming her baby had died to hook a sugar daddy!

David! Ciao, fratello! If not that your comment was just two above this one, I would quote the whole thing!

I'm totally with you on Gael's pursuit of Roxy! They are CLOSE blood but what is the cover story in the Angeles household on Roxy? Is she supposed to be an abandoned orphan that Maximo found on his door step such that Gael doesn't know that she really is his Granpop Maximo's daughter? Gael's covering for Osvaldo does fit in with his pursuit of Roxy. Maybe they're trying to tell us that his brains are like the egg in the frying pan, you know, with his past and all.

Love your observation on hemlines! Yes, the young 'uns have to earn a modest hemline. Now, Simoneta is younger than Quina but you probably also earn a modest hemline if you're a "full-figured" gal!

Awww, Dexter sounds like a complete, and busy, darling!

Grazie, David!

Oh my, a "rug rocket". Stay healthy and on your toes, David...lots of work ahead wrangling active grandchildren. But what a blessing!

We're a little closer to knowing how all these folks fit together now that we know for sure that Os and Gael are brothers. We still know nothing about what happened to their parents, but we know how they fit into the family. We have not yet had confirmation that Roxy is Maximo's kid (it's still speculation), and it doesn't seem that anyone in the family even suspects it. But they all seem to know Roxy was adopted (by whom?) and was spoiled by "grandpa" Max, and Gael obviously doesn't believe they are related by blood.

Hey Lila, I'm game for switching out Diane occasionally if she continues to move into full gold-digger mode.

Thanks Vivi for your insight on Gael and Roxy. When it comes to sorting out familial relationships, my thoughts always go to "wonder if Vivi has figures things out yet." What would do without you????

So it's possible Roxy is a lame duck family member. Maybe not related in blood at all to anyone? If she is, being it would be Max, then I still get an ICK vibe with Gael, unless he is privy to the truth and knows she is open season. Could explain Eloisa's not real interest in her if she knows she is the spawn of Max and the Maid (sorry mind went blank.) It's still an ick with Gael...unless....Gael is NOT Max's son and Eloisa had a fling. So no relation? Ok...giving myself a headache again. I hate when cousins or near relations in these things start are being paired. You know it's usually a ruse to have someone find out their parents are not who they thought they are.

Daisynjay

Daisynjay- Gael is not Max's son. He's his grandson, just like Pedro and Osvaldo. Roxy is called a grandchild, but she was adopted-- by whom, we don't know.

Sergio = father of Pedro
Gabriel = father of Federica
Unidentified 3rd son = father of Osvaldo & Gael

So when did Gabriel die or disappear? What happened to his wife? And what of the third brother and his wife? And who is responsible for Rox being a bratzilla? If she is the daughter of Maximo she is the aunt of all the above adults who are older than she is, which is both weird and -- in this context -- creepy. It would certainly freak them all out.

And does Eloisa know? I'm not sure about that.

We also need to know more about what happened to Julieta's missing child. If Fiorella is that child there has to be a hell of a story about how Mario came to become her father.

Osvaldo & Gael are hijos of O sr. & Sara Miranda. She & O sr. died in an auto accident.

http://foro.telenovela-world.com/~diane/muchachaitaliana/Cast.htm

The characters are listed 3 ways, go to the bottom for the character descriptions.

Vario- Thanks for finding the info about Gael and Osvaldo's parents. So Max and Eloisa had a son named Osvaldo, who died at the same time as his wife in an accident. We know from Gael that Os Senior favored Os Jr. I wonder when Os Sr. and his wife died? And why doesn't Eloisa ever speak about her DEAD SON? The only death she cares about is Max's.

Urban- Gabriel was Max's brother, not his son. That's why Federica is Max and Eloisa's niece, not their grandchild. Fed's problem with Max and Eloisa is because she believes Max stole her father's (his bother's) wealth/company/inheritance.

Thanks for the wonderful recap Lila! These people really are a total trip!

Gael went to Roxi because he likes her and they've been on the chopping block together in front of Eloisa a lot lately. I think that whole scene with her was to highlight for him and the audience that she's selfish, doesn't care about him and is not the right fit. In stands in direct contrast with the two short convos he's had with Gianna in which she, practically a stranger, expresses interest in his dreams and goals while Roxi is vocal about not caring a fig about his deep emotional turmoil.

Yeah, they in no way indicated that Gael and Osvaldo were brothers. When did they even decide that in the writing room because it seems like they hooked them together months into the plot.

Just by the name, I doubt that Sara Miranda & Osvaldo Sr. were married. Another reason Gael is low on the pecking order.

Grazie, Hellashelle, sorella mia! Yes, this family is a MESS! Thank you for that interpretation of the "conversation" between Gael and Roxy. It is SO clear now that you point it out how in. . .

. . .the two short convos he's had with Gianna in which she, practically a stranger, expresses interest in his dreams and goals while Roxi is vocal about not caring a fig about his deep emotional turmoil.

So YES!! Gael and Gigi and Benny can have Roxy! And agree about Gael and Osvaldo: them being brothers DOES seem like an after thought. I guess I gave them credit for trying to depict how disjointed the family is. Well, we shall see how this all shakes out!

Lila, thanks for this lively rambunctious recap. The misadventured of the Angeles crew.
I don't think fio is the asst either, it could be aitana,
That could prove troublesome for pedro & fio.
He just declared his love to fiorella and here
Comes the ex, O joy, or O hell. And the comp
Begins. I wonder how granny will feel when
Pedro tells her he loves fiorella, that might not Sit well with the ol girl, cause she thinks the world of goldy locks. O pedro, good luck buddy.
I hate that freddy is being a very bad hat girl.
Why does julieta hate italians? don't she know The one at fault is her over sexed hubby? Is That a wig hes wearing? Hes not as good lookin as he thinks. What I really hate about this guy is he thinks because a woman is a maid she'll want to fool around with a rich Family member. Maybe that happened in the Pass, but this maid wants nothing to do with Him. I can't stand men that think like that. This guy is slimmy. How can his wife stand him?!?!
I agree about that after thought thing with gael and ossy. He said he wasn't important as his brother or something like that when he
Was talkin to gigi a while back. Sounds like he wasn't planned, so when mommy got
Pregnant she just went with it. And the fun
Filled drama cotinues.........

Hey, Nina! Grazie, amica! You make a good point, Nina! When Gael was talking to Gigi he DID say he felt out of place and didn't feel that he was as important as his brother. That might have been brought out in the recap. . .hmmm, wait a minute, I might have recapped that night. Anyway, that was a very quick but not clear reference to Osvaldo. Oh well, the link has been established. One thing that IS clear: there is no love lost between them!

I am now wondering if Gael is adopted and nobody knows that. Or was there a baby switch?

Realized I was wrong and that there was a 2nd son of Eloisa. Still want to know how Gabriel died.

Thank you for the recap Lila. I like your comments folks especially those on Osvaldo and Gael. These two are like water and oil that cannot be mixed, such opposite poles. That is why they don't hang along even though they are brothers. Osvaldo is so selfish, ambitious, and envious and doesn't care for anything or anybody but himself. Gael is a sweet and romantic guy but he has a big problem letting people manipulate him especially Osvaldo.

Benvenuto e grazie, Marla! I really like Gael, Marla. From the first couple of shows I could tell he wasn't like the rest of them. I really want him to realize that Roxy doesn't give a poot about him and that he'll spend time getting to know Gigi. And I hope SHE sees that Benny is too lost in an unrequited love of Fifi to pay her any attention! Back to Gael, I hope we don't have to see him reach a very painful new bottom with his drug abuse but with so many shows left, it may be inevitable.

(If it hasn't happened yet, please don't discuss it.)

JudyB, yes, we do feel blessed...and tired. Attending to rug rockets seemed so much easier 40 years ago.

David

Thank you Lila, just had an opportunity to read and you never, ever disappoint.

I know it happens but parents or grand parents involvement in the romantic life of adult children crosses all kinds of boundaries. Eloise does everything for Eloise.

Tofie! Hey, kid! I have special hairs that bristle on my back for the whole "parents or grandparents involvement in the romantic life of adult children". . .on one hand uninvited interference really burns me up but I'm all for "adult children" seeking some consultation from the older generation in this and other matters of life. That's the key, the "adult children" SEEKING consultation. That being said, if an offspring of mine is making a glaring error in the choice of a mate, there's no way I'm going to keep quiet. One example: person who is openly disrespectful, physically or verbally abusive of the offspring. With the diverse, morphing and declining behavioral standards young'uns are floating in these days, believe me, there are more.

Okay, dismounting the soap box. Grazie, Tofie!

Well in a previous episode, we saw that Julieta got pregnant while studying in Italy. The father was an Italian (who was engaged to someone else I think? I was a little unclear on some of the conversation). He kind of just told Julieta to figure it out. She said her family wasn't going to visit for at least a year, so the assumption is that the dad abandoned Julieta, who had the baby and gave him/her up for adoption and her family never knew anything abou tit.

Hellashelle, I think you got that right and I think Fiorella was that baby.

And when that comes to light I hope Fiorella gives her what for. Not for giving her up for adoption because Mario and his late wife loved her but for her snobbish ways and hateful attitudes.

When this picture puzzle comes together its
Gonna Look like one of those strangely mingled and priceless paintings that looks
Like a 2 year old and a puppy fought over a crayon. Thats the Angeles family portrait.
