Yo No Creo En Los Hombres, #43 Thur 09/10/2015: COMPLETED RECAP! A Wedding From Hell and a Wedding of Souls

Ok, Full recap up!

Short of it: Ursula convinces Ivana to do through with the wedding by telling her MD is pregnant with Dan's baby, but the child will be raised by Dan and his wife. Susana finds out and threatens to go to the press if Ivana makes her move out. Max and MD make love. Maleny bursts into Max's apartment and sees MD in his bed!

When we last left our heroes, Ivana had dropped her bomb: she plans to leave Dan at the altar, just like he did to MD!

Long of it:After Queen B (aka Ivana) makes this announcement, the messengers head out: Max tells Ursula, who goes running to Dan and Arango. Dan's less freaked out and more "Fine!" because he's still preoccupied with MD and Max as a couple. Since he's predictably dropping the ball, Ursula orders him to stay where he is while she cleans up this newest mess. Speaking of MD, Leo is telling her what's up right now as well. She's stunned and heads into the chapel. Dan, currently unsupervised, follows her. Max doesn't even see this because Claudio is still haranguing him for bringing MD to the wedding in the first place.

The glee of exercising her power as Queen for a Day has temporarily left our resident anti-hero, Ivana. She sits staring straight ahead, tears drying on her face. Susana admits she would normally ask her to consider the scandal, but this time, she just wants to congratulate her on her decision to leave Daniel. Gerry, much more sincerely and disinterestedly supportive, says he’s all for her decision, but why is she doing this for MD? Ivana says it’s more for her than MD; she gets to leave Daniel looking like an idiot in front of everyone. Her trademark insane gleam flares in her eyes for a second at the thought. She tells Susana that this doesn’t mean things will go back to “normal” though.

Dan interrupts MD’s prayers. There’s a tinge of desperation in his voice as he tells MD that if she agrees, he’ll leave this whole circus of crazy; they can run away together right now if she says the word.

Leo calls Clara, who’s in the tailor shop with Espy and Doris. He’s adorable, charming and informative and lets them know what’s up.

Back in the church, MD has decided on two words: NO WAY! She’s channeling Taylor Swift as she repeats that they are never, ever, ever getting back together. Dan’s starting to cry and trying to pull MD to him. She’s leaning away and looking for an escape path when, of course, Mal and Alma appear. Mal chews her out for coming to the wedding with Max, but then trying to leave with the groom. Alma tells her she has no respect for anyone or anything. MD says she respects God (though I kind of wish she had said she respects herself too much to take the worm begging for her forgiveness seriously, but I get it). She reminds Mal that she’s not the one Mal should be getting on about two timing, but Mal doesn’t even blink an eye. Max comes in and Mal blurts out her accusations and then DAN BACKS HER UP!! (WTH Dan? If you’re trying to win her back, do you honestly think this strategy of lying about her in front of her and ruining her reputation is going to charm her back into your arms?! Jeez, what a sleaze!)

Ursula is freaking the F out. She storms Casa Ivana, screaming for Queen B, who comes down flanked by her troops, Susy and Gerry. Ursula wants to know WTH Ivana means by trying to stand Dan up. Why? How can she humiliate him/them like this. WHAT WILL PEOPLE THINK?! "Um, you should’ve thought of that before withholding the fact that I had a hysterectomy from me." And then Dan painted this picture of a children-filled future to sweeten his revised marriage proposal! Salt to the wound! Unforgivable! Ursula protests that they did that to bolster her spirits and swears they were going to tell her when she and Dan were married and having a (“happy”) marriage to cushion the blow. Susana jumps in with an “I told you so!” to Ursula in an ill-conceived attempt to regain favor with Ivana, but all she does is give away that she knew what was up too, and didn’t say anything. She lamely claims she just found out. Whatever. Ursula goes on to say that Ivana lied to them too. She claimed she was preggers after having lost the baby and she would’ve died had Dan not insisted she go to the hospital. Ivana replies that she was running on grief and revenge (a dangerous fuel to be sure. Just ask Josefa). Gerry jumps in the mix to chew Ursula out for taking advantage of Ivana’s pain. This is the last straw for Ursula who tells him to shut it, grabs Ivana’s arm and hustles her up the stairs while Arango blocks their exit. Gerry goes left, fakes right, and successfully crosses under Arango’s arm to follow.

Back at church, Max doesn’t buy any of the Dan’s BS. He basically tells Dan he’s pathetic and that’s why he lost both MD and Ivana. He takes MD’s hand and they head out, leaving Dan to answer Alma and Mal’s incredulous questions about Ivana standing him up.

Back at the ranch, the showdown continues. Ursula tells Ivana she married Dan because she has nothing to offer anyone except for money. Ivana agrees (oh, Ivana, no!). She doesn’t know why life has taken away her ability to have kids when Ursula, hyena that she is, got not one, but two vulture children! Ursula slaps Ivana so hard, she falls onto her bed!
Queen Witch: My husband got on his knees for me! He gave me a luxurious life and two children, much like your mom*! You, on the other hand, if you don’t marry Daniel, you’ll be alone, dry and empty, like your aunt!
Queen Bitch: At least I won’t live with a husband quien me desprecia! (=who despises/looks down on me)
Ursula says she’s not talking about a husband’s love; she’s talking about a child’s love. At one point she bops Ivana’s stomach and chest (Boundaries, Ursula! Personal space!). Then Ursula lets loose one of the biggest whoppers to date: she tells Ivana that MD is pregnant with Daniel’s child and the child will live with Dan and whatever woman agrees to marry him (the Patio collectively pities that woman). Poor Ivana is positively heartbroken by this news.

Our Ivana is nothing if not strong though. She rallies and in the next scene, she’s wedding ready. She sails down the stairs, Ursula at the helm. Gerry wants to know how the hell Ursula managed this 180 degree change, but Ivana just touches his poor, confused face. She pauses to look at the servant’s baby again and is so affected that Arango has to support her on one side as the whole party heads out.

MD and Max are halfway to the car when Leo tells them Ursula called and the wedding’s back on. Max doesn’t care, but MD said they have an agreement with Ivana and she wants to keep their word.

Ivana arrives, bolstered on either side by Arango and Gerry. A smiling Ursula says Arango will walk her down the aisle (probably to keep her from bolting), but Ivana asks Gerry. (The ladies are both so calm, you’d never know they had a screaming match and came to blows five minutes ago.) Gerry tenderly declines; he can’t get behind this plan. He kisses her cheek and speaks for her ears alone “…but I’ll always, always be with you.” Ivana looks pained, but asks Claudio who agrees to give her away. Everyone heads to their places. Ivana pauses halfway down the aisle, next to a man holding his daughter. When she reaches the priest, she almost passes out when she sees the altar boy. One of the guests says it’s because she’s pregnant. Every word the priest says seems especially meaningful given Dan and Ivana’s reasons for marrying:

The Wedding Ceremony
“Friends, we are gathered here today to join Ivana and Daniel in matrimony. If they are here today, it is because God has united them with a purpose. Let us pray. Because you are chosen by God, blessed and loved by him, have a compassionate heart, a humble heart, a kind and patient heart. Support each other and forgive each other for the things you say to each other, just as the Lord has forgiven you. Have you come here of your own free will and choice and without compulsion to marry each other? Will you love and honor each other in marriage all the days of your life. Are you willing to accept with love the children God may send you and raise them to follow the laws of Christ and his church? Daniel, do you take Ivana as your wife, to love her, honor and respect her, all the days of your life?
---Long pause as Dan looks at his mother and MD---
Dan: I do.
Priest: Ivana, do you take Daniel as your husband, to love him, honor and respect him, all the days of your life?
---Short pause while Ivana considers her options---
Ivana: I do.
(If Ursula were any more smug, or smiling any more broadly her dentures would crack.
Priest: What God has united, let no man put asunder.
Dan and Ivana exchange rings. Dan gifts Ivana the symbolic gold coins. The irony is heavy throughout the scene.

When they leave, Ivana looks radiant. She tosses the bouquet and, of course, it goes straight for MD as though she has a homing device on her. She looks moritifed. The extras clap, the main folk glare and Max kisses her on the forehead, because, obviously, he has no problem with the idea of marrying her.

MD and Max head into a small chapel, where MD leaves the bouquet for the Virgin Mary. Now they’re blowing this popsicle stand; they have things actually worth celebrating.

PART 2

At the reception, the rest of Bustamante party (+ Maleny) notes their absence. Mal, already working on a glass of champagne, says MD got what she wanted: for everyone to see her on Max’s arm. Leo tries to explain how things really went down (Ivana inviting them and dropping the lawsuit), but Mal refuses to believe it; her mommy told her MD planned this so it must be true. Leo’s fed up with the nonsense and kisses his folks goodbye before peacing out.

Dan and Ivana take the floor for the first dance. Smiling broadly, Ivana reminds Dan to keep his happy mask on. Otherwise they look miserable on their wedding day while MD and Max are happily in love. Dan complies, noting that Ivana invited them on purpose. Yup, she agrees. And now she understands what he meant about MD having her wedding present: their baby (again: oh, Ivana, no). He’d better figure out how to do it, though, because she promises it’ll mean the difference between a “happy” marriage and hell on Earth. She goes in for a kiss. To the clueless, it looks like an awkward kiss that’s trying to be passionate. When she pulls back, those of us in the know can see it was a cover so she could bite him. She draws blood. Arango and Ursula step in to separate them before that’s not the only blood on the dance floor.

Max has taken MD to his apartment which is strewn with lit candles. He pops a chilled bottle of champagne (and is looking super fine sans tie and jacket and with the top few buttons of his shirt popped open. Yum!) They toast each other, profess their love and share a genuinely passionate kiss. It’s a clear juxtaposition with the previous scene: Ivana and Dan with their real wedding are the fakes, while MD and Max with their simple, private moment are the real deal.

Back at the wedding, Dan and Ursula are outside fighting about Ursula telling Ivana about the baby scheme. They marvel that Ivana tricked them both, but Ursula’s determined to win. Dan has to go on this honeymoon trip, but he wants to know how the crap he’s going to get MD pregnant when (1) he’s out of the country and (2)she’s with Max. They don’t know, but they’re determined to figure it out.

Max and MD kiss and sway in a languid dance. They pause and gaze into each other’s eyes before Max scoops her up and carries her up the stairs.

Maleny’s three or four sheets to the wind. Champagne glass firmly in hand, she steals Arango from Ivana for a dance. Ivana says she’s not the one who stole Max from her. Oh no, Mal cheerfully agrees. “It was the same woman who almost stole Dan from you!” She tells Ivana it’s a good thing she showed up to her wedding because Dan and MD were about to run away together. Ivana leaves in disgust. Arango warns Mal that she should curb her drinking so she doesn’t regret what she says or does later. Mal confidently claims that she never has regrets. Arango avoids her drunken kiss and they jerkily continue their dance.

Meanwhile, Max and MD have resumed their dance in the bedroom. Things are clearly heating up and Max stops to ask MD if she’s sure about this. She absolutely is and things take a decidedly more naked turn…

Back at the wedding from hell, my poor baby, Gerry, is taking his turn with Ivana on the dance floor. What made her change her mind, he wants to know. “The promise of what I’ve always wanted: my own family.” Say what? Gerry’s confused, but Ivana asks him not to ask her any more questions, so he just holds her close. The camera zooms out and it’s clear they’re the real couple at this wedding.

Alma and Claudio discuss the wrongess of Dan and Ivana, but then switch focus to their own kids. Claudio blames Alma for supporting Leo’s independence all these years. He leaves in a huff.

The wedding’s finally over and the main players are at Ivana’s house. Ursula gives Ivana Daniel’s wedding present, the honeymoon trip, even though he’s standing right there. “Give it up, Ursula. I’m not even going to the corner with a man I despise.” She rips up the itinerary. Everyone will chalk up their lack of honeymoon to her pregnancy and assume they’ll take the trip after the baby’s born. She leaves. Dan heads home. Ursula says Ivana’s house is his house now and he’d better step up his game because the baby they promised Ivana doesn’t yet exist.

Meanwhile MD and Max are marveling that they’re together. MD can’t believe she didn’t see him before. He, on the other hand, has wanted her from the very beginning. He never wants to be apart from her, not even for a second. Their kisses are taking on more heat when the doorbell rings. Max reluctantly goes to answer it. It’s Maleny!

Ivana sits in a chair, in her room, in the dark, a queen on the throne of a cursed kingdom. Susana comes in to congratulate her. Now she has a husband and soon she’ll have a baby and she hasn’t had to lay down a dime for either one. Ivana’s stunned by the baby comments, and Susana confirms that she knows everything. If Ivana kicks her out, she’ll tell everyone the truth!

Max tries to get Maleny to leave, but she’s drunk as skunk with twice the stink. When she barrels in and sees the set up, her champagne induced smile fades faster than the fizzy bubbles. “You’re with her, aren’t you?” Max asks her to leave, but instead she bolts upstairs and bursts into his bedroom where a shocked MD is waiting for him wrapped in only a sheet.

*For a second, I thought Ursula meant that Ivana's mom had two kids and I was way confused.

Comments:
No to preocupes, Hellashelle; we all screw up once in a while.

Mama Bear told a whopper of a lie to make Ivana marry Danny-Boy: She said that MD is pregnant by DB. Of course by the end of the episode Max could have accomplished this, which will not please Alma. Susanna and Gerry tried to stop the wedding but Ursula and Arango prevented that by dragging Ivana out of their reach. It was well-choreographed.

It was a Ho-sefa-free episode for a change.

The big highlight was Maleny showing up drunk at Max's apartment and discovering MD in his bed. She really started losing it. Can't wait to see the next episode.

No biggie Hellashelle.

Best shot scene for me last night was when Ivana was sitting in the dark alone, the camera was on her vanity then panned over to her. Awesome

How refreshing. Max did not believe the lie Dan, Maleny and Alma spun about finding Dan and MD alone in the church. Having said that, wished MD would just start screaming every time Dan shows up and gets grabby.

Astounding how smooth Ursula is.

Thanks for part 1 Hellashelle, what a great first half. I love that this show is not following the old standard
(stupid) plot lines and givens. Sex before marriage, how common, but not in standard TNs. Good guys not believing the lies the bad guys tell, how refreshing.

Great part one Hellashelle, thanks

"Jeez, what a sleaze!"

"Now they’re blowing this popsicle stand; they have things actually worth celebrating"

During the wedding ceremony the looks exchanged by all, responding to the drone of the priest better than dialog.

I hope Arango tells more about the Santibanez not being bankrupt. I want to know his real motive for that lie. I'm sure Mama Bear also wants to know even though it seems to be in her interests to maintain that lie at least a little longer.

Hellashelle--
The Wedding from Hell--thank you for the magnificent visuals you provided with your recap. I've never seen two more angry, frustrated, unhappy people standing in front of a priest. The only one smiling broadly through all of this was Ursula. Well, Arango did have a conspiratorial grin on his face.

I held my breath after Dan-Dan caught MD unaware in the church. Run away together, is he loco? (No need to answer that one.) Then came the lie and unfortunately I had to breathe again, but quickly suspended it in order to hear the exchange. Max has had enough of these trepadores. He didn't believe them. He didn't even ask MD if this was true.

Loved your labels: Queen Witch and Queen Bitch.
What terrific lines: "Ivana sits in a chair, in her room, in the dark, a queen on the throne of a cursed kingdom."
AND Ditto: "Jeez what a sleaze."
AND: "...things take a decidedly more naked turn… "
AND: "It’s a clear juxtaposition with the previous scene: Ivana and Dan with their real wedding are the fakes, while MD and Max with their simple, private moment are the real deal."

Hellashelle--you took the words out of my mouth seeing Gerry and Ivana on the dance floor: "The camera zooms out and it’s clear they’re the real couple at this wedding." I choked up watching Gerry with his arms around her.

This tn just keeps zipping along from one high (MD and Max surrounded by candles and champagne) to a low (promise of a no-baby baby). What more could we ask for, huh?

Ivana is beautiful when she doesn't have her scheming face on.

Ay yi yi! I promise I will figure out the balance between work and Caray when there's a 10pm recap to get done. I really did try to get it done early, but I forgot to hit send before I left for work. Mil disculpas, y'all.

Amyway, Wow! The claws are out between Ivana and her new family! Mal and Max are super sweet and I'm finally getting to enjoy some romance (Sombra crew, take note) though I wish the switch from Dan to Max had been a little less abrupt.

I'm kind of surprised Ivana didn't tell Ursula to go to h*** with her crazy kidnapping plan. She is really losing it!

And now Ursula is the most confusing character ever. WHY is she doing this? Was she tired of supporting her economically idiotic kids, so she's trying to pawn them off on another fortune? Does she just want to exercise her power in dominating her children?

It's crazy to me how a matter of principle can go so far in the wrong direction. Mal doesn't love Max, she just doesn't want to "lose" another man in her life. Ivana hates Dan, but she also doesn't want to "lose" him. And neither of them want MD to get anything because she's poor and thin and therefore "less" than they are. They're so crazy they'll make themselves miserable before seeing other people happy.

Max tries to get Maleny to leave, but she’s drunk as skunk with twice the stink.

Ivana sits in a chair, in her room, in the dark, a queen on the throne of a cursed kingdom.

Brilliant!

If things run true to form it will be Max who makes MD pregnant and it's already happened. MD does not deserve to have to bear a rapist's child; rape is the only way Danny-Boy would be able to knock her up.

Wouldn't it also be beautifully ironic if he couldn't? We haven't heard of any past pregnancies ended because of him.

I couldn't agree with you more about the shared misery theory. There is also the issue of Saving Face. Ursula probably wouldn't be able to live it down if Ivana had actually ditched Danny-Boy and Ivana is too insecure in general and probably suffering from accute PTSD.

If anything, Maleny is even more insecure as well as far more unstable than Ivana. Maleny can't handle the loss of Max despite not loving him. He had been trying to get her to marry him for a few years when she resisted and now she can't take it when he's moved on. Not being loved by Ursula doesn't help this situation. Makes me wonder when that started. Did that start when she killed Hector or before that?

What truly defies understanding is Alma's inability to see that Maleny is BSC. Of course she doesn't know the backstory of it because Claudio has kept that secret but she doesn't need that information to see that Maleny is dangerous to herself and others.

Getting back to Mama Bear, she probably is tired of having the two of them around. Neither of them just got out of college and neither of them work. According to their society they should be married to someone "appropriate" by now. She might be wondering what other people are saying or thinking because they're not.

As nasty and greedy as Susanna is her presence is likely to benefit Ivana's bottom line because she'll watch Danny-Boy like a hawk.

Thanks UA! I too am shocked by the baby lie. THANK GOD Max went with MD to get those pregnancy results! I would hate for them to fall into the cliche of having DNA results changed by a corrupt office worker. I'm very curious as to how they would pull off a kidnapping especially since major players know that Ivana's had a hysterectomy.

Yes, the scenes with Ivana, Ursula, Arango and Gerry were well choreographed. The only bad choreography I saw was when Max chased Maleny up the stairs. He was right behind her! He should've been able to pick her up and take her outside easily. It would've been more believable if she had shoved him over before running upstairs or if he had grabbed her and she had undulated against him, thus causing him to release her and he wary about grabbing her again.

what do you mean "We haven't heard of any past pregnancies ended because of him"? You mean, Ivana's the only person he's ever impregnated and maybe she was a fluke?

Maleny's only every been the victim as far as Alma's concerned. She's never seen the scheming side of Maleny. As unstable as she is, she knows to play to her strength as a "pobrecita".

Thanks Tofie and Cathyx! - WORD!!! I love it when a couple isn't fazed by the lies of a scheming villain, especially when it highlights that they really know their partner. They're keeping things fresh in this TN so I'm both curious and worried about this baby scheme.

Anita - I LOVE that Max didn't ask her if it were true. I love that he didn't feel a need to. And I love that she's not letting it stress her completely out (though I'm sure it's a worry) that Alma's not on her side. All she was concerned about was if Max believed it and he came through, like the prince he is.

Hellashelle and UA--
Totally on board that Ursula and Arango want to "retire" from being parents to two childish children. They probably want to spend Ursula's "hard earned" millions far away in Cancun or Acapulco (or Rio).

Can't think of Susana as a benefit to Ivana, but I think you are right. Unfortunately Ivana dislikes her intensly for all the put-downs and humiliations she's suffered at Susana's hands, so she is bound to think whatever she advises has ulterior motives. Gerry isn't enough to go up against Tag-Team Ursula-Arango-Dan.

In a clearer moment of reflection, Ivana should consider starting some kind of day-care facility for her employees, or sponsoring needy children, or ok, just plain adopting a baby or two, or three. Wait til she finds out MD's "baby" is still 10 months or more away! Oh, and how is she going to explain her own 10 month or more baby?

Tofie--I feel sure MD would have screamed, except she was in church. I thought the scene where she lays the bridal bouquet at the feet of the statue of the Virgin and she and Max declare their bonds.

Also moving was her thanking the Virgin for bringing DAN into her life, so MAX could be part of her life. Max was certainly puzzled when she started the first part of her soliloquy.

Sorry--I never finished my thought, but I'm sure you know what I meant:

Tofie--I feel sure MD would have screamed, except she was in church. I thought the scene where she lays the bridal bouquet at the feet of the statue of the Virgin and she and Max declare their bonds especially moving.

There is the issue of low sperm count which doesn't entirely prevent a man from siring children. There are also motility issues. Both of which can be beaten by timing, which Danny-Boy might not have been lucky at. Just speculation.

As to the "pobrecita" act Maleny has been pulling, one would think that no woman would want her son to marry someone that weak. No real man wants a woman who is that weak. What kind of a wife or mother could she be? Would anyone want their grandchildren to be so screwed up?

Ivana could have fallen into the trap of thinking that her womanhood is compromised by the inability to give birth. I doubt that she would be a genetic narcissist (which DB could be) but there is also the fear of getting a child that is somehow genetically compromised. "You don't know what you're getting" is something I've heard anti-adoption people say in real life.

Thanks, hellashelle. I missed the show last night, but I can “see” it all with your visuals.

It’s so very sad that Ivana would choose a Dan baby stolen from MD instead of adopting one.

Hmmm, MD was holding off on sex with Dan for marriage, but with Max she’s ready to take off right now. I’m thinking about this too much, but a career girl like MD who’s just opening her own business and not married would want to use birth control.

Niecie, if Ivana hates MD for being everything she thinks she isn't the kidnapping of her baby would be a very personal form of revenge.

I hope MD was using birth control. Since Max has managed not to knock up Maleny all this time one would think he has a supply of condoms in his nightstand. However if he forgot about it we have a potential babynapping in their future. If that is the case, we have to hope that Max and MD would be smart enough to know whom to blame, how to expose them, and how to get the baby safely back.

And we'd have to hope that would open Ivana's eyes.

Babynapping--Like I said way earlier...please, not so soon after Rodrigo (Gabriel Soto) lost his and Luciana's child via babynapping. I hope he didn't sign on for that.

If it has to be, at least we're in an era when DNA tests are available--unless there is villainous tampering or crooked medical personnel. Please, please, save us from these overused tropes.

So far I'm pleased, there *haven't* been any that don't get twisted right back at us. In YoNo, we really don't know what is happening next.

I'm loving it.

Anita - agreed. I have high hopes, so I hope they're not dashed. Since people know about insurance and laws in this TN (shocking!), I feel like they couldn't pull off a babynapping without serious work (fake adoption) and I think Max would investigate to the nth degree, especially since it would be his kid.

Did anyone here watch Entre El Amor y El Odio? I want to reference it, but I don't want to spoil it (it's super old anyway) or otherwise annoy people with mentioning it.

Hellashelle--Yes, I watched it. It was endless. A babyswitch was a central theme.

Appreciate the part 2 too.

Hellashelle I also think the segue from Dan to Max a little to abrupt and reeks a little of rebound. Wasn't long ago when MD gave herself willingly in a romantic setting to Danny in Acapulco. I do however appreciate MD realizing she had to kiss Dan the frog to see her prince Max and would do it all over again.

Please, no babynapping or rapes in this one.

Max should have never allowed Maleny into his apartment and MD should be pissed. Can't you just hear the story Maleny will tell Alma about the bed-hopping hussy Max is bewitched by?

Oy, Tofie, yes! As it was Mal said "you're disgusting!" last night upon seeing MD. Seriously? Her hypocrisy is sickening, especially because she seems to really believe what she's spewing. Ugh. Alma's hand wringing is going to hit new levels.

Yeah, I also liked that moment. I wasn't expecting it, but it was nice that she's taking the "all that I've been and been through brought me to where I am today. And I like where I am today. And who I'm with." approach.

Anita - EEAYEO was extra crazy sometimes, but I actually liked a good bit of it, most especially how dedicated the protags were to each other in the end. They took an unconventional approach to dealing with their obstacles that I really liked and the male protags response to the baby issues has actually been one of my favorites. Max reminded me of that when MD told him she might be pregnant.

Thanks for part 2 Hellashelle. Jerry and Ivana truly are a couple, why can't Ivana realize that? He loves her to the ends of the earth, I wish she would just open her eyes and see that.

So Dan has to get MD pregnant. First, that's so stupid, and second, even if she did get pregnant, wouldn't she A. turn Dan in to the police for raping her, and B. Want to keep the baby?

And what is Maleny going to do with the news that MD slept with Max? I don't see that having an affect on either of them.

I remember that one. Loved CE as the romantic lead.

Back to our story:

Yes, indeed, Alma will be wringing her hands again soon.

Did anyone else think that Maleny was going to slime all over Arango on the dance floor? That man's instincts have to be on high alert around her. I can't wait for her to try it again and have Mama Bear catch that.

cathyx - They've played the Ivana/Gerry setup close to the chest and on this show that could mean anything. I (guilty of setting off the "I bet they made Garry gay" rumour) LOVE them together, but Ivana has so much to learn about herself, so much confidence to gain, that if they ended with her as a strong, independent single lady, I might still be satisfied.

On the other hand, this is the greatest TN love story never told. I find myself wanting to see the development, especially on Gerry's end, more explicitly. But the hints we do get are beautiful. I mean Arango had to physically pull Gerry away from her door last night! If he hadn't been there, it's entirely possible he would've broken that door down (with his beautiful arms. Mmmm, Gerry's arms...)

I think Max and MD are adorable and I really appreciate the concentrated romance we're getting from them, but I've said it before and I'll say it again: I frickin' love a "best friend turned love" story and this one is great, even without being a overt love story.

UA - Yeah, I was glad they limited the Arango/Mal grossness to one avoided kiss. Though I bet it'll be really entertaining to see Mt. Ursula explode when she finds out about it. (PS: Can I email you a question?)

No prob; go ahead.

Hellashelle, the jury could still be out about Jerry's sexuality, but I hope he's straight because I think that his and Ivana's love story could be a greater love story than Max and MD's. I do love seeing Max with MD. He has the perfect "I'm so into you" look, it's the cutest thing. I would love to have a great looking guy look at me that way. Swoon!!!

Hellashelle, good recap girl, even tho you're
Kind of swamed with work, you're good under presure.
These people are raving lunitics, how do they sleep at night? OMG, their lives would be so much easier without all the lies. Life is tough
Enough just tellin the truth, and their...OMG..
These people are crazy. I would feel sorry for
Alma, but shes joined the nut sqaud, so shes got anvils coming too.
The wedding from hell: while what the Padre was saying was beautiful and he probably thought he was saying the truth about the 2 psychopaths that he was saying in front of. This was indeed the wedding from hell and the In-laws to boot. No honeymoon for dannyboy.
Love max and md together. She asked him how could she not have seen him? She was
Busy lookin at dumb danny.
And now she has to deal with nutty mal.
And the insanity continues tonite

Thanks HellaShelle, awesome recap.

I seriously feel bad for Ivana, why would she want to subject herself to a hell of a marriage, i rooting for her and Gerry, she can be mean at times but she is also very hurt and damaged.

I can see Mal planting lies into Alma's head about how unscrupulous MD is and she is probably going to believe her.

Ursula and Dan are plain crazy, i have no idea how they are going to get Ivana a baby in 8+ months.

Greetings and Welcome Elorej--
You aren't the only one wondering where this miracle baby is coming from, especially if Ivana is going to keep Dan-Dan on a short leash. Well, since he's pretty slimy, he'll probably slip away from her cuando se pegue la gana!

Gracias Hellashele, this was such a wonderful recap with many wonderful lines. These people are plain messed up in their heads including Ivana who just wants to see herself burn in order to see MD's world burn. Even if it was a Ho-sefa free episode it did not manage to decrease the madness of it at all. I don't feel as bad for Ivana than as for MD.

I am curious on the babynapping plan too, how are they going to hoax everyone to believe in the illusion when truths and lies are revealed at blazing speeds? But these slimes are devilishly clever so I am sure they will think of something sweet!

Maly is BSC de facto , what will she do in the next episode? She is very unpredictable..

Hellashelle, the problem is that Maleny sees Maria Dolores as a different species from herself. Not all rich people think this way (Alma totally approved of Clara before the lies about MD got to her) but Maleny is determined to see Maria Dolores as some demon or monster because she works for a living and because now she has Max.

Meanwhile, she had been cheating on Max with Ari for however long. Ari lives in the same nabe. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
