Yo No Creo En Los Hombres 49 Fri 9/17/15 Dangerous Liason Endangered

Parte 1~

Maria Dolores calls Isela on The Big Lie. Josepha the Heifer told MD and Orly both that Ise was involved with Claudio and went to bed with him because she wanted to; there was no rape.  Josefa is who she is but she tells the truth when it suits her!  Ise spits back that MD's just trying to throw that in her face because of what’s going on with her and her sister.  MD is muy impactada that Ise ha turned so vicious.  (So much for BFF-dom.)

Meanwhile Orlando and Doris continue their midnight heart to heart over his being ditched for a horny old rich man due to Jose’s mental abuse of her daughter.  Doris’s solution is to act.  “--Think of something and do it, Orly.  Don’t let them walk all over you!”

Across the way, Fermin is squirmin’cuz his son is taking the pansy way of turning the other cheek even tho’ MD and Max have called it quits.  Honoria tells Fermin to cool his jets and understand this is his son’s decision to make.   (BTW: Did these two ever get married?  Is it assumed in this or not?  Inquiring minds want to know.--And, if I could actually hear what the actress is mumbling/whispering into the mike I would translate it to you.  But alas, the C Team must have directed that scene, so I won’t.)

MarDi tries to make Ise see that what she really feels for Claudio Bustamonte is gratefulness rather than love.  Yeah, says Ise, but you thought Daniel was the love of your life and now you’re in love with Max.  MD tells her that Dan was the worst the worst mistake of her life and then came Max, the love of her life.  She only hopes Ise doesn’t have the reverse happen to her.

The next morning after Clara’s left for school, Esperanza decides to take the proverbial bull by the horns with los Bustamante.  She and MD dare to interrupt Claud and Alma’s breakfast to give the two of them a restrained piece of her mind.

Across the way, Ari stops in to give Doris the latest on Maleny.  Seems that their opinion of her past concerning her daddy’s death was spot on.  When he accused her of killing him, Mal’s malicious bubble burst and she crumpled.  “—So it was true, then?  She did kill her father?”  “—Well, her silence speaks louder than words”. [Calla ortorga]  It would seem so.

While Jenny and Fermin are doing good works handing out books to bored, hospitalized alcoholics that are dying from over-abused livers, he realizes that a lot of them don’t know how to read.  (Teaching opportunity alert!)

Ise pays another visit to Orly’s but he’s not up for another one of her “poor miss innocent” tricks. Don’t try pushing him around much less telling him what to do or not to do.  She gets angry and tells him she’s leaving the barrio soon and nobody will be able to find her (or judge her) again!  Orly tries to grab her and stop her but she tells him now that she’s the one who won’t be pushed around or told what to do by him!

In High Town, Espy, supported by MD, excuses their interruption of their morning meal, but feels they need to listen to what she has to say, especially after what they pulled on her two daughters.  Claud looks down his nose at the two of them.  Alma is wrinkled-nose impactada.  “—Since Clara stole the jewelry, she should be quite grateful we didn’t throw her in jail, Sra.!”  “—My daughter did nothing wrong; you totally took advantage of her fear to blackmail her. And, you succeeded in doing what you wanted.  They have both broken off their relationships with your two boys.”

Claudio jumps up from the table to disagree since he knows Max and Leo are living together with those two girls under Espy’s very roof! Espy clarifies that Max and Leo are actually back at Max’s apartment.  And all she wants is to insure that Leo isn’t sent to a Military school in the US.  Alma accuses MD and Max of living together at Espy’s. No, says, Espy, my girls show respect in my household.  MarDi finally has heard enough.  She breaks in and sneers that they put on a front of being so high and mighty and honorable, but if they don’t put a halt to things she’ll tell Max the truth of what she knows. The whole truth and nothing but the truth!  He wouldn’t believe you, swears Alma.  “--Don’t be so sure, because one word of what I know and he’d never ever forgive you!”  She takes her mother out of there and mild mannered Claudio is ready to throw a fit. “—You see the results of your actions now?  More than ever Leo must be sent out of the country and Clara to jail!”

Leo shows up at class late and takes a seat by Clara.  He gives her a peck on the cheek and she secretly smiles.

Doris calls MD to let her know they’ve got a meeting at Ivana Duval’s office.  It’s something to do with the small business loan they were given.

Ise calls Claudio to advise him that Mal’s waiting for him at the office and he tells her about the Espy visit and MD’s threat.  She tells him not to go through with reporting Clara to the police cuz MD knows about their affair and will tell both Max and Leo all she knows.

Alma is racked with worry about MD’s threats.  She says, if you think that MD and her mama played the victim with us earlier, you can imagine what they’ll do in front of Max!  Just then Max enters and over hears this conversation.

Over at Duval Designs, Inc., Gerry tries to ferret out what Iva has in mind for Maria Dolores.  They both know she has tremendous talent, but he’s certain that isn’t the real reason she chose MD for the loan.  Iva says she’s not about to let GRRRsula and her little cubby bear hubby play her for a fool again.  She’s going to watch MD’s pregnancy up close and personal.  Gerry thinks she’s nuts and wants to tell her so A-A-A-gain.  “—But you’ve told me yourself that Daniel is in love with her.  They’ll be thrown together again!”  Iva says she’s not so sure he actually loves anybody but himself.  “--He’s such a disgusting bastard!”

Back to Max and mama.  He warns them he and Leo suspect their parents did something to force Clara and MarDi to break up with the two of them.  “—And sooner or later we’ll get to the bottom of it.  But that’s not what I’m here for.  I want to have Leo stay with me a while so he won’t be sent out of the country.”  Claudio accepts the proposition in a heartbeat and surprises the heck out of Alma.  “—Let’s just see how easy it is for you to control him.  From now on he’ll be your responsibility!”

In Chem class Leo tries to get to the bottom of Clara’s rejection.  He says he knows it’s got to be something his parents did.  If she tells him then perhaps he and Max can prevent his being sent out of the country to school.   Clara is about to tell him when he gets a call from his big bro.  He comes back to Clara and says he’s going to live with his brother and won’t have to leave her or the country now.  They both are relieved and turn back to doing their classwork.

Alma is telling Mal the news when Jose pushes her way into the Bustamonte’s front door.  Alma goes to chat with her.  Jose says she had no one else to resort to for help with her daughter.

Mal is at the law offices to beg Claudio to tell her what really happened the day her daddy died.  He refuses to.  "--It's useless to dredge up the past."

========================
Parte 2~~

Back at Duval Designs, Inc.: Mal has just told Danny boyB that the coast is clear to have his way with MD since Max has moved back out of the barrio and back home again.  Just then MarDi shows up in the reception area and the two of them cross paths.  He tries to block her way into the meeting to intimidate her but then backs away and opens the door for her.

Clara tells Leo to stay away from her because she’s tired of all the problems.

The director of the SBA loan tells the meeting that MD and Doris’s project was the one chosen for the award.  MarDi tries refusing the awarded loan (like a proud fool) but is warned that she signed a contract and has to abide by it or else.  She opts to discuss it with Ivaca first.

In Claudio’s office, Ise is explaining that Max suspects something because MD must have told him about the two of them.  Claud’s trying to assure her he’ll take care of things his way and it’ll be alright when who should burst through the closed door but Orly!  He and Claudio growl and bark at each other while Ise bites her lip.

MarDi and Ivaca are followed into her office by Danny Boy who refuses to heed Gerry’s warning to stay out of it.

Orly threatens Claudio to back off with Ise or he’ll go to his family and broadcast to them all that Claud and Ise are lovers.  Ise begs him not to.  Orly warns him that he knows about the little love nest he’s got planned for the woman he loves and that Claudio’s too proud to put his prestigious reputation or his marriage in danger by letting this little affair become public.  She’ll be the other woman and she’ll be the one to bear the shame of it.  Claudio insists that she’s well aware of that.  Orly breaks in. “—Sure she is well aware of all that, but do you know why?  Because her mother has spent her whole life abusing her, beating her and pressuring her to!!  Oh, you didn’t know that, right?  And what kind of relationship do you have with her, huh?  Do you know what she likes, what worries her, what makes her laugh and cry, fool?”  Isela is desperate to shut Orlando up but he insists in getting her to tell the idiotic old fool the truth—that her mother wants her to get involved with a rich man!!

Ise turns to Claudio and tries to tell him that Orly’s lying.  Orly turns around and begs her to stop it already.  He knows they love each other and she’s about to throw her life away on a man who will never respect her.  “—Please think it through!  Love, come back with me.”  (I am enjoying this immensely, but keep wondering how soundproof those rooms must be…NOT!  So where is the effing security by now?)  Ice-Ela refuses and insists that she’d rather be with Claudio no matter what!  Orly tries to force her out of the office with him but Claudio jumps him, just as Alma enters and gets an eyeful.  “—Let her go, you miserable coward!”

MarDi meanwhile, asks Ivaca what gives.  Danny Boy says that’s what he wants to know.  Iva tries to put him in his place by clarifying that he’s only at the business meeting so he’d know a bit about what’s taking place.  “--This discussion really doesn’t involve you, darling.”  But, this is a personal thing and you know it, he reminds her.  “—Discuss your personal problems on somebody else’s time.  We have a project to deal with now…Or don’t you believe yours is good enough to have been chosen?”  She looks over at MD.  Of course I do, says MD with Danny staring her down, practically breathing down her neck in the chair next to her.  “—What do you really have in mind?  You hate my guts.  What gives?”  You’re right, says Ivaca.  “--I know who really stole that dress.   It was Daniel.”

Back at Busted Bustamonte Legal:  Alma tells Orly to scram and he does.  She, as naïve as ever, hugs Ice-Ela as the surprised and red-faced Claudio looks on. (Barf alert!)

Across the way, at Duval Designs, Inc., MD lets Danny Boy have it with both barrels as Ivaca looks on with relish.  “—How could you have?  I hate you!  Why would you do such a thing to me—especially right when you knew my father had died and I needed the work!!!???”  She looks over accusingly at Ivaca now.  “—And you!  How could you with the lawsuit over my head!”  “—I didn’t find out till much later.  I couldn’t point out my fiancé as the person who stole it!”  “—After that my life turned into a perfect nightmare!  One tragedy after another!”  Calm down, says Ivaca.  "--You’re going to hurt yourself."  (Or rather, the supposed baby you mean?)  “Hurt?  It seems just being near the two of you does that!” (High Five at that, sister!)  With that she races out of the office to the reception area.

Ivaca shuts her office door.  Danny Boy “assures” her that now MD will never agree to give them her baby.  “—Do you realize what you’ve done, you idiot?”  He starts to come unhinged and finally cold-cocks her.  Iva hits her head on the edge of her marble desk and she drops to the floor.

Ise leaves to go to the bathroom to freshen up.  Alma and Claudio discuss taking legal action because Orly will never stop “stalking” Isela.  She decides the best thing is for Ise to move in with them for a few days…or whatever.  Claudio adamantly objects.  Better to get her a place outside the neighborhood where nobody will know she is.  Alma thinks that’s even better an idea.  “—And meanwhile, you be sure to get some legal restrictions set up.”   He innocently agrees.

Danny Boy doesn’t know for sure but thinks Ivaca is dead and races out the side door to call Mama Bear for help.  Unfortunately, perhaps, for him the sexratery sees the door to the office is open and she notices that Iva is out cold on the floor.

At the same time, Grrrsula is shocked that Danny Boy just ran out and didn’t pretend to do something for the woman!! (Not!)  The only thing that he could think to do was to run out the door, he whimpers!  He cringes and whines, exasperated, telling Mama that if Ivaca isn’t dead already he will end up killing her one way or the other.  She directs him to re-enter and pretend to try to “help her” or she’s finished with him!  Click!  Danny Boy slinks back inside the building.

Back inside, MarDi is on the phone with her mama who’s got Baldomero and a legal beagle in the kitchen threatening her to pay up for the damaged shop or go to jail.  She couldn’t pay them or sign over anything if she wanted to.  The house is mortgaged again and she lost the money, remember?  Maria Dolores tells her to hang on, don’t do a thing and she’ll get there as quick as she can.

The sextratery calls back to Gerry to give him the 411 and he races back to Iva’s office to see what’s going on.

The lawyer and Baldy try getting the name of the guy who loaned Espy a 2nd mortgage and promise to pay it off for her as long as she signs over the ownership of her house.  She refuses, insisting they did not burn down that shop.  Just then Mighty Max arrives at the door to save the dayyyyyyyy!  “—and the investigation hasn’t ended yet.  And do we even know that another has begun to investigate whether Sra. Esperanza is responsible?”  Mr. Illegal Beagle states that his client has already reported her to the police.  “—Then he should know that he has to wait till the investigation has ended and they know that there is a crime to follow up on.  Meanwhile, don’t darken their door again bothering them.  Because, as a lawyer, you ought to know that you’re actions are illegal.  Baldy storms out of the apartment and then the illegal beagle exits right after.

Back at the design studio, MD is prevented from leaving the building by security.  Why?  Because of the attack on Sra. Duval.  What?  “--Yes, she was found lying [tirado/a= shot, sprawled out, stretched out (and unconscious)] on the floor of her office.”

I'm counting on Doris to tell Alma about her husband's affair at just the right time.
I had to laugh at Alma suggesting moving Isela into their home. And now Claudio has a perfect opportunity for setting up their love nest with Alma not only knowing about it, but approving of it.

I have a sneaky feeling that Alma may be the real mother of Isela. ( She certainly looked frightened when Josefa showed up at her door, and she seems very affectionate toward Isela.)
I enjoy this telenovela very much. In general the acting is superb. This is a real psychological thriller.

I love this show, even though I don't understand most of the characters when they speak. I can't believe Daniel killed/knocked unconscious Ivanna.

Joan, and we all know who will get blamed for it, don't we?

Oh, I can believe that. He could inherit her fortune if she died.

As to Isela being Alma's daughter, how would she have been stolen? I would also guess that she is older than Leo but younger (by three or four years) than Max. How would this have happened and who is her father?

No, I dont believe Isela is Almas daughter. I have no other suspects except Honoria??
That is probably off base too.
I agree that Claudio has it made in the shade with Alma suggesting he find Isela a pad of her own. Of course slimebag will frame MD for Ivana's injury/death, what elseis new? I am already weary of the drawn out process to find MD innocent to the courts. Ivana being played like violin by Ursula, evil mastermind. I love watching Doris, but Isela makes me sick. I know Clarita nice kid, but dont like to see her.

Why does anyone we know have to be Isela's mother? Remember, this hasn't been a typical TN.

What will MD think about learning that Dan was the one who stole the dress and gave it to the other shop? Well played on Ivana's part if she wants to make sure that MD never gets back with Dan.
I'm gonna guess and say that MD is now pregnant with Max's baby because we still have a lot of episodes to go. That will keep the baby stealing threat alive longer and the belief that it is Dan's baby.

Yes. We have 72 episodes to go so there could still be a baby-napping.

Ivana needs to stop believing anything Danny-Boy says. MD is through with him.

I was surprised MD was shocked to find out Dan stole the dress. With everything he had done to her why it never occurred to her he may be responsible proves she still suffered from love blindness. (only she, Daniel and her mother handled the dress that day and momma didn't steal it) I really hope this discovery finally gets through her thick skull she was in love with a turd that did not love her and everything he ever said or did is suspect.

Though it moved the plot by allowing Claudio to put Isela up in a new love den with Alma's approval, Orlando going off at the office was ridiculous. Perhaps I feel that because this show otherwise has either not used these types of devices or did a better job of setting them up. Dammit Orlando she doesn't want you or to be saved.

Thanks for part 1 Jardinera. Claudio is really playing with fire now that everyone but Alma and his kids know about his affair.

Welcome Joan Grady and sandydoc! Yep, a real psycho-thriller, but not a goofy circo type like Mejia would have made it. This is a really well-paced, build-em-up and knock-em down. It's almost Hitchcock worthy with Maleny's nightmarish flashbacks to possible murder at a tender age and her getting more and more schitzo when Mama and Ari dares to mention it to her, Urrrsula's murder of Iva by drugging her and rolling her into the swimming pool right after the civil marriage, and now, the way Claudio and Ice-Ela had the blind luck of getting Alma to unknowingly sign off on that little love nest of theirs! Very compelling!

This is really good Jardinera, thanks.

"So much for BFF-dom"

"Fermin is squirmin"

"(like a proud fool)"

"Mighty Max arrives at the door to save the dayyyyyyyy!"

Funny the faux lawyer had his tail between his legs after Max barked.

Loved MD's threat and Claudio struggled to mask his fear

Great one, Jardinera.

Of course we now have MD accused of the violence done to Ivana. She can't be dead because it's too soon in the series for that, but who wants to bet that she will have amnesia when she regains consciousness and can't remember that it was Danny-Boy who did this?

Only Honoria, Julian and (I think) Fermin know that Isela isn't Ho-sefa's daughter while everyone but Alma knows that Isela is his chippie. I do hope Doris spills the beans on that soon because after what she did to Clara Alma deserves the humiliation.

At least now we know that Mexican law has such things as restraining orders.

More later.

And a terrific part 2. Thank you.

Orlando hit the nail on the head about why Isela is doing what she's doing. But if Claudio's conscience doesn't stop him from taking advantage of Isela's need to get out of the barrio, then it won't matter that he said that. And then all bets are off, Orlando needs to tell Alma if he is still intent on getting Isela back, which I hope he isn't because I really really want him and Doris to end up together.

Esperanza needs to quit letting people in the door. In fact, everyone on the show could use a security chain!

How dumb is "Alma"STUPID"Bustamonte"?
That should be her middle name.
That would make a good book for her to write after The devorce. She could coucil other dumbFounded women like herself. She'd become a very wealthy woman. And her most loving honorable bastard of a husband, A world Class hypocrite.
Olando need to leave isey alone and go for a sure love ms. Doris, I like her, she don't bite
Her tougue, love the way she went after maleny. I'd love to see her go after Gurrrrsula
Like that, and nobody stops her.
I really hope ivana is not dead, cause I could see that coward blaming MD. And I would
Like for Iva to stick around to see her inlaws
Get their.....these people need something more than a anvile. These people need to suffer, worst than the people they hurt. I hope
Somebody drops the hubby cheatin bomb on
Alma, I can't stand her snobby attitude. And
Stupid invited the mistress to move in to her
House. She deserves whatevers comin.

Jardinera, thanks for a lovely recap, and funny.:-):-)♡♡♡♡♡

Thanks for the wonderful recap Jardinera! My fave line was definitely "Mighty Max arrives at the door to save the dayyyyyyyy!" Thank God! Those rats were putting the squeeze on Espy big time, so I'm so glad he walked in to see what was going down. Since this TN doesn't always rely on EVERY official being corrupt and money BUYING every worker, I have hope that the investigation will show arson and the fact that the girls would've have profited from it supports their innocence.

Augh! Now this new things with Ivana! God Lord but I'm tired of Dan's screw ups keeping MD one step away from jail all the daggone time! And if Ivana doesn't remember or gets pissed, it'll just be her word against Dan's. Sigh.

Props to Mal for asking what really happened that day.

I don't blame Alma for what she believes, given the evidence presented to her, but could she question even one thing?! Could she trust her sons' judgement? Could she just leave them alone to enjoy their relationships for five seconds? Ugh! She's gonna feel like the biggest idiot when the truth comes to light because she's the only one who is 100% in the dark about everything.

Jar--Muchas gracias. The recap was great. And thank you all for last week's recaps. I'm all caught up, but all typed out after my lengthy comments on Telemundo's Perla Preciosa.

Loved Mighty Max arrives at the door. (I have to admit to having read and loved the Mighty Mouse comics.)

Hmmm. No, Ivana can't be dead. She's too much of a central character. I would hate to lose her right now, or at all. What would Gerry do?

Pathetic to see Dan-Boy reduced to a sniveling little boy who needs his Mama to fix things when they go wrong.

For the first time I felt some sympathy for Maleny. I think Claudio believes she shot her father and did not commit suicide. Ursula and Arango know what really happened. But we don't. It could be either way and still be such a traumatic incident for Maleny to have blotted out the actual events. Except for her mother constantly bringing up as fact that she is responsible for her father's death. Was it suicide or was it murder? She remembers holding the gun. We won't know for a good long while.

UA--Restraining orders. Yep, now we know they exist in Mexico, even though the judge himself says they don't work.

Thanks for the juicy recap. You must have worked very hard.
I think its a bit ridiculous that Ivana continues to have vipers starting w Dan all aound her for revenge. Has she not heard that living well is the best revenge. Well, we need to go with this storyline and I hope Ivana comes to her senses about MD at least. Isela is manipulative and two faced. I just wonder if she really really fell for Claudio or just using him. I also wonder why And how Julian knows about Isela's orgins. Max is the MAN, he is perfect in looks and heart dept. Cant wait for Monday.

I don't believe maleny killed her dad. I wouldn't put it Pass that old heffa ursyla to shoot her hubby And put the gun in the little girls hand. Look How easy it was for her to roll Iva into the pool and then stand there and watch her. She is evil to the core. Here
Comes mondaaaayyyyy.

Thanks, Jardinera. Terrific recap.

Thanks for recapping, very thorough indeed.
Are Ursula just partners in crime, or did they ever have an affair or still having one? I hope Ivana not dead and hope she remembers Dan slapping her so hard. How dare he, then again what can one expect from coward like him. I wishing all kinds if bad on him.

Ursula and Arango partners in crime?

Ursela and Arango are definitely partners in crime, but whether they are lovers has not been divulged yet. I know he pines for her, he made a vague aside comment once, so if that's correct, then they aren't lovers.

You know, he could do better. I'd love to see him turn on her, embezzle her money, and run off with someone younger. Maybe that could work as part of her Karmageddon.

I'd love to see a guy run off with someone older (and not because they were old and rich and going to leave everything to their lover). It's the age version of Mal's "fat" incredulity: I like it when our snooty TN characters actually get the lesson to sink in: "your beauty and wealth aren't enough to make me pick you because you're a horrible person".

Unfortunately, Arango is also terrible, so no good lessons there. I fully believe he and Ursula have been lovers. I think they pulled a Mal/Ari scheme way back when with Hector.

Cathyx, that is funny that he pines for Ursula. Cant imagine anyone pining for Ursula, but I guess that even if I dont see it "debe tener lo suyo." Arango is as cold as she is. I also feel maybe Mal put him to the test by trying to seduce him once. I was like a bit intrigued by his reaction, he was reciprocating then its like he realized something and ran out like a bat from Hades.

I too don't believe Maleny killed her father. Ursula is so self-satisfied torturing Maleny about the incident that I'm sure she's behind whatever really happened.

Too too bad that Alma caught Claudio strong arming Isela. Now that Orlando is getting over the shock of Isela's betrayal with Claudio, he was actually starting to use his head. Isela is a sick puppy and needs help.

Isela must deal with the consequences of her own actions should the relationship with Claudio blow up in her face. MD is dealing with her decision to be with Dan and though he truly lied and deceived her she is not using that as an excuse. She takes ownership of her bad decision.

Tofie - I thought of you when MD talked about Dan with Isela, but even more so when Ivana told MD that Dan had stolen the dress. What was your take on that? Do you think it was the final blow that broke Dan's hold on her? Or is this just a temporary blow up?

Hellashelle, see my comment from Sunday 9:36 on the dress theft reveal.

"I was surprised MD was shocked to find out Dan stole the dress. With everything he had done to her why it never occurred to her he may be responsible proves she still suffered from love blindness. (only she, Daniel and her mother handled the dress that day and momma didn't steal it) I really hope this discovery finally gets through her thick skull she was in love with a turd that did not love her and everything he ever said or did is suspect"

I can only hope it is the final blow but I cringe a little every time she keeps telling everyone Danny done her wrong. The guy is part of her DNA now.

I don't agree. MD was naive, but she isn't stupid. A few minutes' thought should bring the realization that Danny-Boy stole the dress because nobody else handled it after her. She didn't yet know at the time that he was not to be trusted.

She hates his guts now and probably is angry with herself over having fallen for his BS. I know someone who continued to fall for BS from a pathological liar whom she surrendered her virginity to when she was 16, but for reasons too long to go into I think she is a masochist. MD isn't one of those.

Tofie - Sorry, don't know how I missed that comment.

That scene in Ivana's office was the first time I've heard MD say that she hates Dan and I'm not sure how to take it. On the one hand, hate is not her style so to have her say it comes off somewhat dramatic. On the other hand, if she can hate anyone, I imagine it would be Dan (and Ursula, but she doesn't yet know that U's the real criminal/evil mastermind.)

I too want to believe that this was the last tidbit she needed to hear to believe that Dan is no good. If/When he sets her up to take the fall for this, I think she'll look down and realize the knife he stuck in her back ran all the way through to the front.

Anon 10:58 - I think he remembered Mal was Ursula's daughter, not just a pain in Ursula's side.

My point UA is why she hadn't realized he may be involved in the theft of the dress post disclosure of Dan's other lies. She was shocked to find he was and hadn't done as you suggest, give it a little thought, and put 2 and 2 together. I get her naivete and trust at the time the dress was stolen and why she didn't go there.

Simply stating she hates him does not mean she is not susceptible to his lies, nor keeps a residual emotional bond. To this point there is something that prohibits her from believing the absolute worst of the man. I think it is the deep love she had for him, that has turned to hate because of humiliation, that continues to get in the way. I also think that is why she protest aloud she hates the guy in an effort to convince herself.

It should be no surprise to her if she is accused of hurting Ivana when Dan was left in the room with her alone. I mentioned last week that MD should never be in a room with Dan or speak to him and certainly not let him in her mothers apartment and to tell Max of any conversation or sighting. She could start with a restraining order, though Claudio said they are not worth the paper they are written on.

Tofie - I agree, her saying "I hate you" doesn't mean she can'r/won't be pulled in again, but I wonder if it will be because of lingering love, or a desire to believe the person she once loved (but no longer does) isn't the rat's a** he appears to be. To me, there's an aspect of her delivery of that line that did seem genuine-specifically that she said it in the heat of the moment, rather than in the middle of a discussion of how horrible he is. For some reason that seems more genuine to me than if she had been discussing Dan with Isela, Clara, Max etc. in which case I feel she'd say it because it would be expected.

MD will always be surprised when Dan ups the level of his vileness; she will almost always give the benefit of the doubt unless irrefutable proof is presented or multiple sources make the lies implausible. Now she could see Dan sabotaging her job, because it's been proven that he did it before, but she'll probably still be shocked when he lets her take the fall for assault (and, if Ivana's true to form, attempted murder).

MD had the good luck to have had loving parents. The idea that anyone would do the things Danny-Boy and his family do would never have occurred to her until now. Many people who don't have toxic parents refuse to believe this is possible. Trust me; I've known quite a few of them.

I also have the feeling that we've only seen the tip of the iceberg of the Santibanez family dysfunction.

Perhaps it's the delivery but several times recently when Dan's name came up with Max, Doris, her mother, Clara and Isela, MD tells them not to mention the guy (for some reason I thought she said she hated him too) and it seemed to me it was because it would be expected or she wanted to forget the whole mess. I personally would want to forget the whole mess and have him go away so I could get on with my life.

Can't think how much more nasty the Santibanez can get. Usurla is encouraging her son to impregnate MD and that implies rape, Ursula tried to kill Ivana and now Dan has physically assaulted her. Lie, steal, rape and kill. The only one that shows any trauma is Maleny and it's possible adults used her(as a child)to cover their tracks.

Agree this level of nasty not something MD likely knew was possible and certainly not from someone that professed to love her and she loved. If she cannot or will not accept there is evil in her world and take the necessary precautions the Santibanez eat her for a snack.

It is possible she's said it before and in context I brushed it off as expected; that moment in Ivana's office was the first time I thought she was (at least starting to be) done with Dan in her heart, rather than just her mind. Yes, she's said not to mention him, especially when talking to Max. Which makes total sense; I doubt any new boy/girlfriend wants to talk about the ex their current SO almost married. They certainly haven't discussed Maleny.

Ursula not only implied rape, she condoned it. I distinctly remember shaking my head in surprise and disgust when Dan said "I'd have to rape her" and Ursula replied "Lo que sea!" (or whatever the grammatically correct version of that is) and then said if she had what all to do it with, MD would already be pregnant.

The woman is stark, raving mad.

I really cannot comprehend why she's going to these lengths for a fortune she doesn't even need to get a DIL she doesn't even respect, much the less like. I feel like there are far simpler ways to protect a fortune, or even your children's fortunes.

Jardinera- Thank you so much for this wonderful recap. I really hope to get through all these episodes I missed by next week.

Without seeing this, I think it's perfectly normal for MD to be totally done with Dan in her mind, but not have him totally out of her heart. But I don't think this means for a second that she would go back to him. She may be trusting, and might have been naive (because she had never experienced such evil), but she's not stupid.

Someone else already mentioned that Ursula likely wants the Santibanez fortune all to herself, without having to share with her feckless kids, and that's why she's trying to hard to marry them off to money and get them off her hands. That makes sense to me.

Its obvious to me that this woman didn't just get this way she probably was this way before she married their father. cuz I think she was workin in a supermarket and no telling what she had to do to get this man to even consider marrying her. and that's why I fear that she probably murdered him along with arango and like I said before put the gun in little Maleny's hand and told her she killed her daddy. and that stupid judge I don't know what his party is in this but I wouldn't be surprised if he was in on it with them. He is
Not honorable at all. Max is going to have his hands full helping MD out of this mess.
Dannyboy is such a coward.

Nina, I think our good judge is up to his eyeballs in the death of Hector. Don't know how or why but the guy knows something.

I'm not sure Claudio has done anything more than remove the gun from Maleny's hand. My guess, Maleny found the gun on the floor after Hector was shot (by Ursela) and picked it up. Momma quickly blamed Maleny, silencing anything Maleny tried to say in denial, and left the room quickly to find Claudio, who happened to be in the house at the time, to help hide the evidence that Maleny shot him by making it look like a suicide, thereby blaming Maleny for killing him. So Mal takes the fall for Ursela killing her father because she was too little and confused to be able to remember or understand what happened.

Cathyx- I'm with you. I think Claudio is guilty of covering up what he believes to be the shooting/killing of his friend by his little daughter. He did it to protect Maleny. It was wrong legally, and he'd surely get in trouble for it, but he did it for a good cause. But I have always thought that it was Ursula and/or Arango who killed her husband, put the blame on Maleny, and then lied to Claudio.

Vivi, exactly.

Ditto to both Vivi and Cathyx.

A reasonable assumption, since a child can't be held responsible. But despicable nontheless.

Thabk you so much for the great re ap Jardinera!
