Lo Imperdonable #100 Mon 10/5/15 The Murphy's Law Episode – In which anything that can go wrong does go wrong!
From Friday:
Verónica and Martín agree not to allow Claudia to come between them.
The Quality Control Engineer examines the ingots and determines they are fake.
The New stuff:
Mad Dog Julio beats Mad Dog Manuel and throws him out of his little shack. "I must find them," hisses Julio through gritted teeth.
Despite Pablo's reluctance, Ana Perla insists on returning to Mina Escondida without him. "Trust us," say Botel and Magdalena. "We'll take care of her." [Oh noooooooooooo!]
Pitchforks and Torches in Pueblo Nuevo
Since he started drinking Manny's special (poison) tea, the Old Goat has been feeling a bit better so he decides to take a little walk around the block. As soon as he sets foot in the street, however the villagers – who would not be out of place in a Diane Arbus photo or a David Lynch film – jeer at him and his sinful family: What's next? Will Blanquita be following Ana Perla's footsteps? He waves his stick at them defiantly, but as soon as he walks away, he reflects that what they've said about Blanquita is true.
Someday My Prince Will Come
Meanwhile, Blanquita is nearly weeping with frustration. Why does her mother insist she give up her plans to study nursing in Mexico? Stony-faced Raymunda says Blanquita is selfish: Grandpa Goat is sick and he doesn't want her to go.
"He's the selfish one!" screams Blanquita. "I have my father's permission. I'll run away if I have to!"
She goes outside and cries... until she is startled by the touch of a red rose. It's her principe, Arturo! Awww! (Hey Artie, don't let the rest of the Goat Family see you!)
Olympic Conclusion-jumping at Prado Castelo
Virginia fans the flames of Jorge's suspicions about both Martín and Verónica. Emiliano sniffs that he has never trusted Marty and presses his father to take legal action. After they lodge a complaint with the police, they will confront Marty and Vero.
Daniel: as bad as Virginia – or worse?
As they enter the Prado Castelo offices, Verónica tells Marty how she tracked her anonymous caller to the bar and discovered it was Daniel; and that she saw Virginia handing over a large amount of cash to him. They are left wondering why she was paying him off and where she could have gotten all that money.
Nah, nobody's worse than Virginia!
In the gold storage room, Virginia assures Jorge he is doing the right thing. Jorge is just so stoopid disappointed. He still can't digest what has happened. Marty is a stranger to the family, but Verónica? Now he understands why Verónica sent that information to Cepeda. "She knew we weren't going to have the gold and if we didn't accept his conditions, he was going to sue us for a considerable amount of money." [I'm glad Jorge understands, because I don't. If you do, please explain. How is this anything but a disaster for Verónica?]
I know a guy...
Virginia says she knows Manuel, the grandson of the owner of Mina La Perla. He's an approachable guy. If Jorge gives her the go-ahead, she can go to Mina Escondida and negotiate the sale of whatever gold he has.
Watching over Grandpa Goat
Manuel returns home. He does his best to stir up the Old Goat's resentment towards Ana Perla. (It's not hard.) Then he takes a seat and watches the result of his handiwork.

Before long, the Old Goat isn't feeling so hot. Manny sees the old man fall forward onto his chessboard.
Building a case against Martín

Jorge and Emiliano meet with some suit in the Justice Department to lodge a complaint of fraud against Martín. The documentation is enough for a judge to order Marty's arrest, the suit tells them.
Building a case against Virginia
Chucho – the good guy who works for the Prado Castelo family – carries out the favor Verónica has asked of him: he convinces a security guard at the estate to copy the security camera footage from the day Virginia was discharged from the hospital and the day she was to be married. We only see the hilarious damning images of the first:
10:15: Virginia returns home with Salma.
10:45: Virginia sneaks out alone, carrying a handbag.
12:45: Virginia hurries back. She hides her handbag under a cushion in a carriage and heads toward the house.
Aha! Two hours to account for, Virginia!
Joaquín's farewell
Joaquín seeks out his son to say goodbye. He tells Polo to be strong and to take care of his mother and sister. Polo begs his father not to leave. By the end, even Onix is crying.
Pitchforks and Torches in Prado Castelo
Virginia delivers Vero and Marty to Jorge's office. When the couple enter the room, they immediately sense the chill in the air. "Is something going on?" asks Martín. It is Emiliano who answers: "What's going on is that we've finally discovered who you two really are!"

Verónica and Martín are bewildered. "What are you talking about?" Vero asks.
"About your betrayal!" answers Emiliano.
Virginia accuses Vero of being a phony and of taking advantage of 'us'. "You slandered me – you called me a liar!"
"Because that's what you are," says Vero quite matter-of-factly.
But Virginia, now standing beside Jorge and Emiliano, insists that Vero is the only liar.
Emiliano says he knows that Vero leaked confidential information to Cepeda. There's no point in denying it, adds Jorge – the secretary found the email!
Vero is getting frantic. They know her – how can they think she would do such a thing? Emiliano says that everything points to her guilt. And now, because of the information she leaked, the client is demanding changes in the contract.
"He can't do that!" protests Vero. "He already signed a contract with you!"
And another thing...
Now Emiliano drops the other shoe: Because they don't have the gold to complete the order, the client is going to sue them for all they're worth. They may lose the company!
Marty doesn't understand. He sent them the gold they needed. But Emiliano says the gold he sent them was fake. Marty is a fraud and he's going to end up in jail!
Now Martín checks out the gold himself and realizes there's a problem. "There has to be some mistake," he says.
Pablo knows a Faustian bargain when he sees one
Lucía is very worried about how the family is going to manage, especially with a baby on the way. Pablo assures her that they'll get by somehow. He just knows that something is going to happen...
And it does. The doorbell rings. Pablo opens the door. Mariana marches right in and throws herself into his arms. (The poor thing must have offended make-up and wardrobe – how else to explain her ghastly get-up?) He tells her to get lost. She smiles idiotically, hands him a check for the sale of one of his paintings and tells him she has gotten a contract for him with a prestigious New York gallery. There's just one little catch: Pablo has to be in New York by the following day.
Pablo turns her down. "Your choice," she says breezily.
Once Mariana is out the door, Lucía looks intently at her son and asks: "Are you really going to give up that opportunity?" He is. He's not going anywhere without Ana Perla.
Les Oliviers, where discretion is our motto...
Botel, Magdalena and Ana Perla have arrived safely and have taken care to avoid being seen. (How? Did they wear invisible cloaks?) Padre Juan promises he will talk to the villagers and convince them to set down their pitchforks and torches.
Pierre welcomes the new arrivals in his usual effusive faux-Frenchie fashion. (This guy, at least, knows he's in a farce.)
Genio y figura hasta la sepultura
(A nasty Old Goat right up to the end)
Somehow, the moribund Old Goat has made it up to his bedroom. Manuel sits at his bedside and urges him to hang tough. But the Old Goat knows that his end is near. "Never forget that they betrayed us!" he tells Manny. Manny promises to do away with them. "But only them (ellos)," says the OG. "Don't do anything to your sister – let her live with her dishonor!"
Oh boy. Magdalena and Botel lose another one.

They have arrived at the Old Goat's house. Ana Perla asks Botel and Magdalena to let her go in alone. They refuse – it isn't safe!
Botel, however, is momentarily distracted when his cellphone rings. (Yes, now Botel has a cellphone too!) It's Marty calling with the news of the gold switcheroo. In their distress, Botel and Magdalena seem to forget all about Ana Perla. She uses the moment to slip away.
Botel hears Emiliano fulminating in the background. He promises to get to the bottom of things.
Two for the Road – times two
Little Polo writes a goodbye note to his mother, picks up his bindle and leaves with Onix (who is wearing a little matching sack tied to his collar).
Arturo and Blanquita walk along hand in hand. Blanquita is sad at the idea of abandoning her mother, but she doesn't want to sacrifice her longed-for nursing career. Arturo respects her desire to make her own way. Even so, he'd like to help he – he is in love with her. They kiss. (The Patio shifts uneasily and hopes no one from the pitchforks and torches crowd catches sight of them.)
Ana Perla reaches Grandpa Goat
Ana Perla rushes to the Old Goat's bedside. Manuel immediately pounces on her. How dare she show up here! As for the Old Goat, he may be dying but he's not too weak to spew a little venom: Ana Perla is no longer a member of the Goat Family. "Get her out of here, Manuel!" He raises an arm as if to strike her.
They're coming to take you away!
Martín asks Jorge for time to get to the bottom of the problem. Emiliano says that's not possible – the authorities have already been called. And right on cue, the police show up to arrest Martín. [Wow. Justice is really swift (and unjust) when you tick off a Prado Castelo.] Vero is desperate. She begs for a private moment with Jorge. Meanwhile, the police take Marty into one of the conference rooms.
Martín calls Botel again and tells him he'll be going to jail unless Vero can convince Jorge to withdraw his complaint. Botel says he's gathering documents and will return to the city as soon as he can.
Ladrón que roba a ladrón
Manny's two henchmen in Mina La Perla get to thinking: Manny probably won't give them their share of the gold. And once they melt it down and put it in La Perla molds, there will be no way to prove where the gold came from. "What if we take it all? No one in La Morenita will know where their gold went!"
Ring Them Bells
The padre summons the villagers and makes an impassioned plea for them to set down their Pitchforks and Torches. At first, they are pretty mouthy to him; but in the end, they hang their heads in shame.
Botel is a pretty good conclusion jumper himself.
Joaquín stops by the office of La Morenita to say goodbye to Lorenzo. Botel, who has evidently not yet noticed that Ana Perla is missing, bursts in and accuses the two men of fraud. Lorenzo and Joaquín are startled and offended by the accusation. This is the first they have heard about the gold switcheroo.
Besides, as Joaquín points out, where would they get the money to do that? (¿Con qué ojos vamos a hacer lingotes de tungsteno?) All they did was load the gold that was mined in La Morenita.
Suddenly Lorenzo remembers that after Manny's guy gave him a drink from his canteen, he slept like a log for the whole trip.
"He probably gave you a powerful sleeping pill!" says Botel. "Let's go find that bastard!"
The padre is on a roll
He walks in as Manuel is loudly berating Ana Perla. "You're going to die disgraced and damned (condenado)!"
"Who is going to die in a state of damnation? Ana Perla? Or you? Because you're the one who tried to kill her!" The padre knows because Pablo told him.
Did not, says Manny. Did too, says Ana Perla.
Manny goes on the attack: The Old Goat is dying because of Ana Perla and her bastard child! Ana Perla confirms that Grandpa Goat is on his deathbed. She wants to ask his forgiveness but Manny won't allow her near him. Padre Juan urges Manuel to let his sister make peace with her horrible grandpa.
The padre and Manuel go upstairs to see Grandpa Goat, leaving Ana Perla alone downstairs. Tomasina enters just then. Ana Perla tells her to get Raymunda because the Old Goat is dying. [Ugh. That's a scene I'm glad I won't be describing.]
Upstairs, the Old Goat tells the padre to get out. He doesn't want to see that ingrate, Ana Perla. The padre urges him to forgive and repent so his soul can rest in peace. But the Old Goat says he doesn't repent being the person he has been. Padre Juan leaves to prepare the church (though wouldn't his duty be to stay with the dying man and his family?)
Je ne regrette rien... well, okay, there's one little thing...
Manuel, now alone with Grandpa Goat, buries his face in the blanket and says he's sorry for making him suffer. "Don't say that," says the Old Goat indulgently. "You're the only one who has acted properly. I only regret one thing..."
Manuel lifts his head to listen.
"...that I didn't change my will completely and that ungrateful girl is going to inherit half of everything I own. And her husband will inherit too."
Manuel begins to hyperventilate.
But you KNOW me, Uncle!
Poor Verónica. Emiliano and Virginia won't let her see Jorge alone. And Vero still hasn't learned that Jorge is a rancorous and easily manipulated stooge.
"I wouldn't do things like that. You know that's not who I am," she says sadly.
"Verónica, how long are you going to keep up that farce?" he responds coldly. "I can't forgive myself for not realizing that behind that honest face of yours, you're a greedy woman.
Vero stares at him in disbelief. He goes on: "Or maybe it was Martín who changed you."
"Stop humiliating yourself, Verónica," says Emiliano.
Virginia gets her licks in: "Let her humiliate herself! Let her drag herself on the ground like what she is – a viper!"
Vero finally loses her composure: "Shut your mouth or I'll shut it for you!"
Virginia hides behind Emiliano: "Are you going to hit me like you always do?"
Emiliano orders Vero to get out.
But Virginia isn't finished: "How does it feel to have everyone hate you? It hurts doesn't it? I should know... and all because of you."
"I know perfectly well that you are behind all of this," says Vero, once again cool and in control of herself. "The truth always appears. I'm not done yet, so get ready for war!"
Verónica the Warrior Princess storms out of the room. Virginia clings like a creeper to Jorge's shoulder.
Vero and the others join Marty and the agents in the other room. Vero tells Marty that she has accomplished nothing. He reassures her that Botel will clear things up.
"It's crystal clear that you're a thief, Martín," says Emiliano flatly.
"You're going to regret those words," replies Marty.
"Everything accuses you," says Jorge.
"Not everything," says Vero. "This is the work of Virginia – or maybe someone even worse."
Virginia immediately sells out Prado Castelo
She makes a phone call – we assume it's to Cepeda – and spills the beans about the fake gold. She reacts with surprise at the size of the lawsuit this party is likely to file against Prado Castelo.
Virginia reflects aloud (as all good villains do) that all she has to do now is get the gold from La Perla and the other mines. She already has the money to pay off Daniel. As for the keys (to Martín's house), they won't be any use to Daniel now.
He won't live through the night
The padre tells Ana Perla that (a) the Old Goat really is dying, (b) he refuses to see her and (c) he himself has to get the church ready. This leaves Ana Perla alone with the dying Goat and Crazy Manny. Nice play, padre. Fortunately for everyone, Manny shoves her out the door.
An unpleasant surprise for Virginia
Left alone in his office, Virginia decides to try out Jorge's chair. Why not? It will be hers soon enough! She is snooping through his papers when one folder catches her eye. Whoa! It's the detective's report on Salma. Ginny picks it up and starts reading...

That's true, but on the other hand, Onix was terrific last night! (You settle for what the monkeys give you, right?) And it was fairly satisfying to learn that the Old Goat hadn't written Ana Perla out of the will.

Why isn't Raymundo in the will? She is his daughter and direct heir. I would think things would be split 3 ways. I wouldn't be surprised if Manny draws up and tries to make him sign a new will before he dies.

Grumps smacked her up when he found out she was pregnant & threatens to beat her with his stick, threw her in a cave cell & locked her up, then forced her to marry Julio. Manny brewed her up some abortion tea & rolled her down a hill but this dummy wants to meet with them alone?
Magdalena is a dummy for at least not standing outside the door to wait for Ana Perla. I hope Veronica & Martin do not trust Magdalena to watch their kids.
Jorge & Emiliano were dummies for believing that Veronica, after all this time, would defraud Prado Castelo and sabotage her own line for greed. Hello, YOU are dependent upon HER gold mine for supplies. Why would she sabotage herself or you, when she literally has the gold?
Pablo is a dummy for not telling Mariana straight up that he is married to Ana Perla & they are expecting a baby. Not being straight with Mariana is what got him in trouble the last time.

Wow NovelaMaven. Thanks so much for a stellar recap! Great screen caps and captions and the recap was a joy to read.
Well, we have made it to 100 episodes of Lo Imperdonable. It sure has been a fun and entertaining ride despite the silliness and the monkey writers that have taken over the writing department.
Poor Vero and Marty. Jorge and Emi are both fools. The brain activity that we saw from them has vanished.

Good for Jorge for "understanding" because I also don't get it. Vero had no reason for supposedly doing what she is being accused of.

Oh and AP: What was she thinking by wanting to go off alone to see OG? Doesn't she remember how he locked her in cave?! I knew that we could not really trust Magda and Botel to babysit. They just let her slip away.
Botel accusing Joaquin and Lorenzo: I wanted to scream when he did that but luckily it was cleared up. Now they do have some suspicion that the driver of the truck had something to do with the gold scam.
And speaking about Joaquin, him wanting to leave town (and basically abandon his kids) is so out of character. I blame the monkey writers.

Another gem, NovelaMaven. I remain a hopeless fangirl of your writing. I'll be humming "One Day My Prince Will Come" the rest of the afternoon, but my favorite heading was "Olympic Conclusion Jumping". Man, we could use that one in many an episode.
And what can I say about Marianne's outfit? True...black pants are better than the famous gold pants of the hospital scenes, but the wardrobe department is making sure we have no sympathy for the little lady...not us gals anyway. (Opinions may differ...Gringo? Carlos?)
Got a big kick out of "effusive faux-Frenchi fashion" Lots of fluffy little "f's" in that one. Pierre does a horrible French accent but you have to love the way he plays it anyway.

Great to see Manual's expression. And I assume Grandpa Goat will live because he hasn't repented yet. Pretty funny to see him still fulminating and insulting his friends and family. Whadda guy. Plus, no last rites. The pussyfooting Padre is off to the church rather than hanging around the deathbed. Hmmm

I give Botel a pass only because Marty called him and told him there was a shipment of fake gold from the mine. This involves him too; for all we know Jorge & Emiliano could demand Botel be arrested too, so he needed to be pulled away from AP drama.

For me, the most impressive performance last night was by Onyx. He's a dog for goodness sake and what dog can resist bounding off in pursuit of a soccer ball kicked just beneath his nose? And yet, wonder of wonders, this amazing pooch (whom I admit to labeling ADHD) held steady. Good job... good boy.

I completely forgot about the bombshell of a cliffhanger. How could I forget?! Now Virginia knows that Salma is her Mommie Dearest. For sure this lead to some good drama. Can't wait.

Mariana's outfit---I thought that the top looked good, red trimmed in black with a matching black necklace. What's wrong with that? I agree with Carlos on the pants in that they weren't flattering. Overly tight but I have to ask, What unmarried young lady doesn't wear tight pants?
I too think that Old Goat will live a bit longer. Nothing to go on but a hunch but I see him changing his attitude toward Ana Perla and Pablo at the end. At the final big party that there always is, will he be smiling at Ana Perla and his grandson or granddaughter all the while waving his stick in the air to all the assembled people?

Yes! The monkey writers are having a lot of trouble remembering what any of the characters are like from one day to the next, but they are particularly forgetful when it comes to poor Lucía.

I would toss AP back in the cavejail for the crime of mere stupidity. WHY do you want the forgiveness or caring of the two people on this earth that have hurt you the most? Namely Manny and OG? I wouldn't wish my grandfather ill however I would not want to be near the deathbed of someone who mistreated me so. What's there left to say or do?
Uncle Jorge and Emi are another family I wouldn't want to belong to. Talk about fickle! First they love you then they hate you then love you again. There is no in between with these guys. Boy are they gonna feel stupid (again) by then end of this thing.
Mariana's outfit was kooky but did anyone notice Ginny's track pants/bellbottom looking ensemble with the weird stripe down the side? Very Sporty Spice. I dug the Little Red Riding cape that Ginny was sporting 2-3 episodes ago. Ironic since she would be a danger to the Wolf and not the other way around.
I read up on Redd Foxx. Word! It would be so ironic that Ginny's having an Evil Moment(TM) holding someone at gun point or about to toss them down a well (no spoiler just my Xmas Wishlist) then *croak* right there on the carpet!! What an end to such a great Villana!

I'm about too late to say more than "thanks" for another fabulous recap. We seem to be in silly season with the dummies running rampant. Many others pointed out the funny items I also enjoyed.
I think this may have been my favorite moment: "Little Polo writes a goodbye note to his mother, picks up his bindle and leaves with Onix (who is wearing a little matching sack tied to his collar)." Polo had to work with the note to get it to stay in place on the pillow. I loved seeing him and Onix wearing matching getaway gear. Polo also kept bumping his stick into the lamp. I doubt they'll get too far.
Also liked "Virginia clings like a creeper to Jorge's shoulder." for its double meaning. She's a clinging vine, but also a creeper as in "people they deem sinister, indecorous, uncouth, or otherwise unpleasant".
