Lo Imperdonable #105 Mon 10/12/15 Aarón goes free, Manuel gets absolution, and Virginia learns Salma's darkest secret.

Verónica and Martín are exonerated and Prado Castelo is released from the clutches of the crooked Italian

Jorge's face is as flat as ever, but Emi pushes out his lower lip in that bulldog way that says he is unconvinced.  He still thinks Vero could have leaked the information.  She could have had an accomplice inside the corporation – Nicolás or Berta, say, who both had access to her password and whose departures seem suspiciously convenient.  [When did Berta leave, huh, monkeys?  Huh?]

Vero argues that the accusation makes no sense – why would she threaten the success of her own collection?  She offers to show Jorge and Emi her bank accounts to prove that she has no unexplained deposits.  But when the Italian client stops by and yields to Vero's threats to put him in jail as a party to theft of information, it is clear to all that Vero and Marty were uninvolved.  Unfortunately, the client refuses to name Virginia as his real accomplice, but he agrees to adhere to the original contract.  The crops are corporation is saved!

Jorge apologizes to Vero and tells her he loves her like a daughter.  This time she doesn't let him get away with it.  If that were true, she says, his love would have been greater than his doubts.  Though she still cares for him and is grateful for everything he has done for her, she cannot forgive him.  She is still determined to prove Virginia's perfidy.

Meanwhile, in Mina Escondida, Virginia is furious to learn that Vero has proved her innocence and salvaged the jewelry deal.  She and Manuel vow to join forces to destroy the hated Mr. and Mrs. San Telmo.

Ana Perla, still dumb as rocks
In an amazing coincidence, the wicked employer frequents the market where Arturo sells his veggies.  Alas, Ana Perla and Arturo don't see each other, because as Ana Perla approaches, Arturo turns away to take a call from Blanquita.

Back at the house, she discovers she isn't entitled to any breaks, not even for a breath of fresh air, nor will she have a day off.  And if she tries to get away, the employer threatens to accuse her of theft.

Blanquita and Joaquín have The Talk.
In Pierre's hotel, Joaquín overhears Blanquita's smoochy phone conversation with Arturo.  He sits her down and talks about love – about the need to be responsible and patient and to allow one's love to mature before having sex.  Blanquita assures her father that she has no intention of ending up like Ana Perla – before she becomes a mother, she wants to finish her education, she wants to work, she wants to travel...  She is going to take this relationship one step at a time.  Hearing this, Joaquín proudly gives her his blessing – she and Arturo can be novios.

Well shut my mouth – Pablo finally comes clean!
When the owner of the New York gallery gushes over a portrait of Ana Perla, Pablo tells him – and Mariana – that the lovely subject is his wife.  Gasp!  When Pablo calls his mother a bit later, she tells him about Ana Perla's disappearance.  Pablo then tells Mariana he must immediately return to Mexico City because Ana Perla is missing.  And not only is she the woman he loves, she is expecting his child.  Mariana is at last rendered speechless.

Daniel negotiates the purchase of a house for the retirement home he is planning.  Please, monkey writers, get rid of Danny before he can hurt the old folks!

Emiliano and Claudia meet by chance.  She accepts his invitation to lunch. They have something in common: both have suffered because they fell for the wrong person.  They decide to give themselves a chance together.  Maybe their friendship can lead to something more. (Claudia actually gets him to smile when she calls him "blue eyes.")

Where's Ana Perla?
Padre Juan tells the hapless young police officer (who now has a name: Marciano) that it is his duty to investigate; and that means overcoming his fear and questioning Manuel.

And so Marciano timidly approaches Manuel and tells him that the padre is demanding an investigation of Ana Perla's disappearance.  Manuel brushes off Marciano easily.   When Manny is alone with the Patio, he curses Padre Juan for interfering.

Nanciyaga warns Padre Juan of the black clouds that surround his spirit, and she implores him to watch out for the evil-minded man (el hombre de mala entraña).

Manuel initiates his reign of terror in Mina La Perla.
The miners must find more gold or they are out!  He appoints Juancho as his foreman.

Mr. & Mrs. San Telmo enjoy a light-hearted evening at home.  Mr. San Telmo is in charge of the kitchen.  Vero, however, has to go out again: she has one more important thing to do – and she has to do it alone.

Vero meets Daniel in the same bar as before and offers him a large sum for whatever dirt he has on Virginia.
She knows he has the letters Virginia wrote to Demetrio because the security video shows him carrying the box out of the Prado Castelo house on the day Virginia and Emiliano were to be married.  Daniel agrees to give her what she wants – and what he has is worth gold – but under his conditions:  she has to meet him alone, and Martín can't know about it.  "Tell me where and when," says Vero.

You're not going to believe this one!
The court-appointed lawyer tells Aarón and his cellie Chelas that because of procedural errors in their trials, and because Clemente's killing was found to be in "self-defense," they are both to be set free immediately!  Aarón hobbles out with a demented grin on his face – now he'll get his revenge on Maggie and Vero.

Clueless in Mexico
Botel and Magdalena lie in bed and talk dreamily about their long dreamed of wedding.  All Maggie wants is to be with Botel for the rest of her life and forget the hell she lived with Aarón.  Botel says they don't have to worry about Aarón – he'll be in prison for a very long time. [Sigh.]

Playing dress-up
Chelas takes Aarón to live in the very vecindad where Arturo lives.  It seems Chelas inherited a room there from his late wife.  And best of all, he has a collection of clothes that Aarón can wear as disguises.  What fun!  Every day will be like Halloween!

Aarón says that very soon, he'll be seeing his daughter – and he'll be getting plenty of money from her husband and her uncle.

Arturo (who, by the way, seems to have taken acting lessons from Ireri) gets upset when he catches sight of Chelas.  There goes the vecindad!

Manuel asks for absolution – and he gets it!
Padre Juan hears Manuel's confession – he is guilty of Goaticide, but he is truly repentant.  The goggle-eyed padre suspects his contrition may not be quite sincere and yet...  incredibly, he finally yields to Manny's insistence on his need to be at peace with God.  "I'm going to grant you absolution if you swear before God that you repent all your sins and that you will stop doing evil and you will dedicate your life to doing good!"

Oh yeah, Manuel swears he is truly repentant and yeah, he'll do all that stuff.  Oh yeah.

"If not," continues the padre, "you will be condemning your soul to hell."

Another job for Aldo
Martín hires him to find Ana Perla.  He also asks him to check the La Morenita ingot mold for fingerprints.  Aldo will begin tomorrow.  His schedule will be clear once he has delivered a report to Jorge.

Verónica just can't shut up, can she?
She calls Virginia, who has just returned from Mina Escondida, to warn her she is very close to proving she's a murderer.  She'll make sure she rots in jail!

Virginia then confides to the Patio that she will have to get rid of Vero – but very carefully.  She doesn't want to arouse any suspicion.

The truth about Salma
When Aldo arrives to give his report, Jorge tells Emiliano to stay and listen.  Emiliano is shocked to learn that Salma is Virginia's real mother.  Aldo continues: for the first two years of her life, Virginia didn't live with Salma.  Salma had to steal her back.  Jorge wants to know why.  So does Virginia, who enters the room at this very moment and begs to be privy to the secrets of her past.  Jorge tells Aldo he can speak freely.  Aldo explains that Salma had a hard-knock life.  Her mother was very sick and she was in desperate need of money... so when a distant cousin in a childless marriage offered her a large amount of money for the little girl...

"Did she accept it?" interrupts Virginia.  "Answer me – did she sell me?"

Manuel Sánchez, I absolve you of all your sins...
"And your penance will be to say three Padre Nuestro's every day."  Manuel touches his forehead with the green stick and begins to intone the prayer as he leaves the church.  Now Padre Juan emerges from the confessional, his face red and tear-streaked.  If he has been mistaken in giving Manuel absolution, he begs God to forgive him.  Then he prostrates himself in front of the altar and sobs.

Sadly, she did.

Aldo answers Virginia's question:  "Yes, out of need, Salma sold the girl."  Virginia can barely breathe.  "She sold me?" she whispers.  And then she collapses.  Emiliano catches her before she falls.  "I'll call the doctor!"

Ahhhh...NovelaMaven, what a delicious recap. Thank you!! It was certainly an entertaining episode. What's with Vero's blouse not tucked in in the back? She must have really been in a hurry to go somewhere. I noticed this affectation in a couple of other episodes............please, NO! It looks really stupid!

Couldn't believe Manny and the Padre.....WTH?

AP going around in a daze as usual. Pablo being the king of tact with the gallery owner with Mariana right there, about AP painting being his wife etc. He's a real dolt.

Finally coming to some conclusions - Vero - Marty - Jorge and Emi. Yes, why would they believe the worst of Vero and Marty and not talk to them first before putting Marty in jail. These people are impossibly judgmental and their brain cells never seem to collide!

And looky looky.....Virginia is on notice with Vero. Splendid! Isn't this announcement #3 by Vero?

Hi, NovelaMaven

I am not following this, but I haven't seen your name lately.
Did you have a little vacation?

All the best,

Another stellar recap! Thank you NovelaMaven.

There were so many great lines, too many to name, but here are a few of my favorites:

"Emi pushes out his lower lip in that bulldog way that says he is unconvinced."

"In an amazing coincidence, the wicked employer frequents the market where Arturo sells his veggies."

"Please, monkey writers, get rid of Danny before he can hurt the old folks!"

"Manuel initiates his reign of terror in Mina La Perla."

"You're not going to believe this one!"

"Goaticide"

I definitely could NOT believe that Aaron was released. The monkey writers were at it again. With him free Veronica and Magdalena better watch out.

I wonder what connection there could be between Arturo and Chelas. Does Arturo have a shady past that he's not telling us about? Interesting.

Poor Ana Perla. She's always getting locked up. Hopefully, Aldo finds her fast.

Glad that Pablo finally told Mariana that he's married and about to be a dad. I don't know what took him so long but glad it is out in the open.

Daniel opening a retirement home .. ? If the OG were alive he'd be the perfect candidate to be first one admitted there.

I have no idea what the point was of Manny's confession to Padre. I let out a chuckle when Padre laid down kissing the floor.

And Veronica .. why does she insist on telling Virginia her plans?! It's so frustrating that the writers continue to make her make the same mistake over and over.

Thank you, NovelaMaven, for another fabulous recap!

Mauricio cited all of my favorites. Goaticide is at the top of the list!

Just want to add that I am glad that Verónica didn't forgive Jorge at this point. Let him stew a bit for his not believing in her.

However, as good as Verónica's been at making things happen lately, again she idiotically informs Virginia she's closing in on her. Serious monkey writing in action.

¡Buenos días!

Floridia, what a nice surprise to see your name on this side of town! Thanks so much for thinking of me.

Here's the deal: I haven't been away (except in fits and starts) – it's just that I'm following two shows that air at the same time. Since I'm an 'official' recapper for this one, it gets priority. That means I watch "Bajo el mismo cielo" a day late; and sadly, I'm always out of synch with the recaps and the conversation. By the time I've caught up, you folks have already moved on to the next development. I continue to be impressed with Bajo and to appreciate the wonderful recaps and comments on that show. (I need to let people know that, huh? I'll try to do a better job of it.) :-(

Anon 8:06, Mauricio and Mari,
So glad you enjoyed the recap. I was a little more liberal with my recapping tijeras than usual so please feel free to fill in any details I omitted.

Anon, that's funny about Vero's blouse. I often fixate on trivia like that, but this time I didn't even notice (though I did think she looked smashing). I'll have to look again :-) And the scene with Manny and the padre – yikes!

Mauricio, I had the impression that Manny confessed to the (weak and foolish) padre and coerced him into absolving him of his sins as part of his plan to get even with him. I can imagine him taunting Padre Juan: "You know I killed the Old Goat and there's not a thing you can do about it!"

"I wonder what connection there could be between Arturo and Chelas. Does Arturo have a shady past that he's not telling us about?"

Oho, that hadn't even occurred to me! I just thought that Chelas was the scourge of the vecindad and everyone breathed a sigh of relief when he went to jail. But maybe the monkey writers have concocted some monkey business for Arturo...

I hate the idea that Aarón is on the loose again. I had even allowed myself to hope that we had heard and seen the last of him when the guards searched his cell, found the phone and seemed to thwart whatever scheme he had concocted. Oh well. I suppose two or three weeks allows for plenty of lágrimas de sangre.

Mari

"I am glad that Verónica didn't forgive Jorge at this point. Let him stew a bit for his not believing in her."

Me too. I liked her reaction – affection and gratitude tempered by a recognition of Jorge's emotional limits. She's protecting herself, but she's not lashing out.

For me, the most interesting scene last night was at the very end: Virginia/Grettell owned the room with her surprisingly nuanced performance – at first she is tough and cynical, apparently ready for anything; but what she hears literally knocks the wind out of her. I'm anxious to see what happens next...

Totally agree, NovelaMaven, that was a great performance by Virginia/Grettell. She did steal the show. Very convincing acting.

As for Verónica's blouse in the back, I think maybe that's the style of it, like the sweaters that are fashionable right now which are longer in the back than the front. I've seen blouses like that as well....or maybe it was just sloppy wardrobe, lol.

Mari, I like almost all of Vero's outfits, including this one. It's Virginia and Mariana who seem to get stuck with the clown suits.

(Unless you have top billing, being tall seems to doom an actor to suffer an ill-fitting, unflattering wardrobe. When this is all over, Mariana should sue someone. I'm sure that hanging judge would be on her side!)

NovelaMaven, I too like most of what Vero wears. I thought her outfit last night was great!

You made me laugh re: the clown suits on Virginia and Mariana. I would have thought Virginia would have more clout than that! After all, she is a main antagonista.

Mari, I think that at times, Virginia's unattractive outfits are intentional. Certainly, those prissy little miss dresses and the headbands and bows in the beginning were a deliberate look. Then she had a brief bombshell period (though some of her outfits were spectacularly tasteless). Now she is on a downward trajectory, and her clothes seem to reflect that.

Yes, that sounds right, NovelaMaven. Virginia's outfits have reflected whatever stage of "seduction" she is at, and now she's going down along with her wardrobe...but there's still three weeks! Hope she at least goes out looking like the hot woman in the introductory "Lo Imperdonable" them dressed in red.

What a fabulous read this morning NovelaMaven

If that were true she says, his love would have been greater than his doubts. YES!!
Yes!! and YES again. Great move Veronica. Let Jorge stew on that one for awhile.

Ana Perla Still Dumb As A Rock. Funny NM but true.

Mariana is at last rendered speechless. QUE? Is that possible?

Aaron is out.---I knew that things were going along all to well. Will someone die?

Guilty of Goaticide---I couldn't stop laughing when I read that, even though I know that it isn't funny. I know I'm a bad person. I'm sorry. I'm going to see Padre Juan

Yes announcement #3 to your enemy. Not a very smart move.

No Please! Don't let Dr. Dan near the old people.

No heart condition for V-snake at the end of the show last night. Virginia just couldn't handle the fact that her mother sold her. It would knock the wind out of anyone.

Anon207---some great creative writing yesterday. I loved it.

Must see tv tonight--so much yet to happen.
the gringo

that was supposed to be "Lo Imperdonable theme."

NovelaMavena very robust recap. I must say
These are some of the dumbest people in tn
History, that I know of. WOW!!!!

Because of procedurel errors in their trials, &
Aaron( "MURDERED" ) killing his brother in selfdefence (really)? You will be set free. See,
DUMB!!!!

"Veronica just can't shut up, can she? " No!!!

"Virginia confides in the patio, that shes going to get rid of veronica, but she has to be
Carefull Not to arouse suspicion". Now she's thinking like somebody with some since (but we all know shes crazy) she's going to get rid of veronica and she's not going to say anything about it, she's just going to do it. But veronica has a big mouth, she needs to shut up and don't let the devil know what she's about to do. But no, this is a tn. They
Thrive on dumbness.
If the police had half the sense that Aldo does, all the crooked people would be in jail.

"The miners must find more gold or they're out. And Manny appoints juancho as his (henchman) Forman".

Virginia was put on sale by mommy dearest.
and all the horrible names she called magda saying that she had abandoned by Veronica, but she didn't. And she sold her daughter. So thats why ginny girl is so greedy shes a chip
Off the old Plastic Surgery Botox filled block.

I wonder if manniac manny will come back and kill the padre while hes asking for forgiveness? We'll see tonite.

"Goaticide"

I am too out of it to comment much these days, but that completely cracked me up! Good one, NM.

V-Snake fainting for realz? Maybe she's expecting a little baby viper.

Thanks NovelaMaven for the recap. It was quite obvious that Aaron would leave jail. Not looking good.

Hi NovelaMaven

Good point that Manny confessed his sin to Padre Juan to get even with him. I had not thought about it like that. I can only hope that Padre was right about Manny condemning his soul. Although we know that his soul has been condemned for a long time now.

I recall Arturo saying something like "Chelas is back now I won't live in peace." It will be interesting to see if this means anything.

I wish we would have been done with Aaron back when he was caught by the police. Veronica and Marty have enough having to deal with Virginia and Manny.

It sure is a small, small world isnt it?

Hello Hello......its been a long while since i have commented......But i have been reading and following the novelas.....the recapps and cappers...continue to be the best....they help me to better understand the episode....THANK YOU......I just want to say that i too feel that Selma has has her nose done...cut up alittle to look like Michael Jackson's....the close ups of her are awful and she looks old.....far away she looks great.....I love Ana Brenda's wardrobe and the blouse hanging out the back is a new thing....i have seen many do it here in California....Martin needs to shave....and cut his hair....he is a good looking guy ....better with a clean face and short hair....Manny is the guy u want to hate....really is a turd and can hardly wait to see what his demise will be.....fire? along with Grettle maybe they both go together....awful couple....how could she like Manny....what a brute.....Looking forward to Colunga and Salinas novela....so excited........thanks again recappers your the best....have alot of the recappers left....i have seen a lot of change in names.....been following for years....BNinCA

Thanks, NovelaMaven, for giving us a great recap and helping us pretend that the action made sense.

I did like Vero's response to Jorge, with its reasonable tone.

Yes, AP is still dumb as rocks and Manuel is still evil, evil, evil. He is guaranteed to burn in hell.

I can't make myself care what kind of wedding Botel and Malena have, or if they even have one.

Dr. Dan could start with an old folks home, then upgrade it (?) to a manicomio. He would be the perfect doc to hold innocent people prisoner in an asylum.

We don't need Aaron on the loose, although I look forward to his disguises. We have enough people already who are evil and/or crazy.
I liked Pablo's large painting of AP. It seemed to be more skillful than some of the others.

The look in marianas face was priceless. She
Can't marry pablo, hes already hitched. But
Knowin that desperate woman she'll cook up
A sceam to get around even that. Really girl?
She can have any man she want, why even trouble yourself with somebody elses man?
Life is to short for that foolishness.

gringo, thanks so much! No, no, you're not a bad person. When a novela is this over-the-top, it's really okay to laugh. In fact, I particularly love the combination of outrageous nuttiness with oddly moving moments and bits of excellent acting – and even, occasionally, excellent writing!

You think it wasn't Virginia's heart? I wonder... I guess we'll find out in a few hours.

nina, I'm glad you liked the recap.

"I wonder if manniac manny will come back and kill the padre while hes asking for forgiveness?"

Oy. I hope not, but the thought crossed my mind too. The priesthood has become a particularly risky TN calling, lately. [shudder]

"They thrive on dumbness." hahaha. They do, don't they?

Carolina, It's always nice to see you around here.

"V-Snake fainting for realz? Maybe she's expecting a little baby viper."

Please no! Not that! No baby vipers!

Thanks for this excellent recap, NovelaMaven. You never disappoint.

I hope that Virginia's collapse was not something too serious. I was looking forward to seeing how she is planning to manipulate and use Manuel. May she get well soon.

While it wasn't exactly high fashion or even tasteful, I thought that Mariana's outfit was, ummm, fun... and definitely interesting.

Aarón's out. Should be very entertaining.

I'm getting a kick out of watching Ana Perla and her new employer who is such a slug.

Carlos

Mauricio,

"I recall Arturo saying something like "Chelas is back now I won't live in peace." It will be interesting to see if this means anything."

Right, he did say that. The problem with the slash and burn writing is that it leaves lots of loose threads. Normally a line like that would pave the way to some subplot, but it's a little late in the day. Who knows?

BNinCA
Welcome back! There are probably more recappers around here than ever because most of the time, all four primetime Univision novelas being covered. People do come and go, though, commenters as well as recappers.

Thanks for the shirt info (I'm totally out of it when it comes to trendy fashion.)

"Manny is the guy u want to hate."

Indeed! [hee hee]

"Looking forward to Colunga and Salinas novela....so excited."

Me too! Hope to see you around here again!

La Paloma,

"Thanks, NovelaMaven, for giving us a great recap and helping us pretend that the action made sense."

hahaha, You're welcome. I do what I can.

"Dr. Dan could start with an old folks home, then upgrade it (?) to a manicomio. He would be the perfect doc to hold innocent people prisoner in an asylum."

He would, wouldn't he? He's like a Guillermo García Cantú with training wheels.

nina

"Really girl?
She can have any man she want, why even trouble yourself with somebody elses man?

Yes! That's always been the question about Mariana – that and "What does she see in Pablo anyway?"

Thank you, Carlos,

Yes, poor dear Virginia. Is anyone sending flowers?

"I'm getting a kick out of watching Ana Perla and her new employer who is such a slug."

Yes, good times. It seems to me I've seen that actress play pretty much the same role in another novela. She certainly has it down pat! Well her bonbon eating days are numbered – the Ana Perla Defenders are on their way!

I'm breaking my head trying to remember what it was the boss lady was eating on a fork (?) when Ana Perla asked if she could get a breath of fresh air but can't remember.

NovelaMaven

Normally a line like that would pave the way to some subplot, but it's a little late in the day. Who knows?

You're right. It is late to start a new subplot.

That looked like fish and fruit? She was eatin.
Who knows shes mean to our little dummy. I
Really want them to have a smart child, really
Ok Im done its about time for tonites episode

Thanks Nina. Hopefully, we won't have to put up with boss lady for long. I have my hopes up that Aldo will find her and put her to safety.

"Our little dummy."

Good one! LOL

NovelaMaven,
Thanks for your excellent recap. Again I am late to the party, but I could not let the night go by without thanking you for your hard work. Please know that I always read the recaps, I just don't always have time to comment. With my busy schedule at work, there are days where I just run out of time. I really wish I could join in the conversation. Anyway, thanks for the recap!

Hasta Pronto!

You're so welcome, AuntyAnn. I'm delighted to see you here at ANY hour. I know how busy you are so I especially appreciate it when you take a moment to stop by.
