Yo No Creo en los Hombres: #(66-)67, Wednesday, 10/14/15—MD is Forced to Confront the Monsters in Their Lair

Replay/Refrito: Ursula, Arango and Jacinto discuss their plans to take over Vera Duval and make it even more profitable. Maleny taunts Arango about hanging around Ursula for YEARS, but NEVER bedding her—she calls him and Ursula cold blooded. Arango pulls her into him and wonders if her search for a hot blooded man is what sent her back to Ari’s arms. Jacinto comes in and finds them in this compromising position. In his apartment, Max explains Ivana’s journey back to the light to MD, her willingness to testify against Dan, and the scheme Ursula and Dan proposed to baby-crazy Ivana to give her MD’s baby.

The New/Lo Nuevo:
MD is incredulous that Ivana is really going to help her this time, but soon realizes, as Max explains the baby scheme, that Ursula and Dan were behind everything. “Do you believe that the Santibañez want to take my child from me?”  Max totally misses MD’s use of the present tense in speaking about her child, and once again assures her that Ivana is no longer being driven by her intense desire to be a mother, knows that the existence of MD’s baby was a lie, and will now help their cause.

Claudio comes home, and is about to give Isela flack about her disappearing act. Before he can even start, she freely admits she was with Orlando. Then she lies that Orlando threatened to hire Max as a lawyer and tell him he came to the Bustamante house not to see Isela, but to see Alma to tell her that Isela and Claudio are LOVERS, if they don’t withdraw the charges. Isela assures Claudio that Orlando will keep his end of the bargain because he is no longer in love with her, and is seeing MD’s friend, Doris. She butters Claudio up with some caresses.

A teary Ivana calls Gerry and tells him she went to see Max to tell him her version of how things happened, but talking about it only opened up all her wounds again. She has to hang up quickly because Tia Susana is lurking. She accuses Ivana of approaching Max because she wants to do the same thing to MD as she did to Ivana—steal her man. (Well, Ivana does look smashing in that color block dress.) Ivana looks at her like she’s crazy, and tells Susy that despite their best efforts, she and Dan did not succeed in turning her into a monster. With the help of Gerry, she’ll be able to recuperate the person she once was. He is the only one who sees the good in her. Susy says Gerry is, and will be, the only man who wants to be by Ivana’s side—“If you can call him a man.” (Our first gay slur/alert!) Ivana gets pissed, and tells Susy that Gerry is more man than Dan and most men that she knows. She assures Susy that she will find a man to be her husband and raise a family with her one day—a man as good as or better than Max!

Esperanza tells MD about Claudio’s strange visit to set up the engagement dinner. She’s not buying that that was the reason he was in the hood. It most likely had to do with Isela. Espy is worried for Isela and her potential involvement with Claudio. She thinks MD, as her friend, should talk to her. She definitely doesn’t want Clara to get wind of it, because she’s crazy enough to tell Leo, and he’s crazy enough to tell his family. MD wants to be sure first before she says anything and hurts Max.

Alma shares TMI and tells Isela that she took Claudio to see the doctor because of his ED problem. Isela feigns concern, suggests the little blue pill, then smirks knowingly at Alma’s retreating back.

MD has told Julian about the pregnancy. Like the wise soul he is, he counsels her to tell Max. MD says she told Doris and Isela, who is accompanying her to the doctor tomorrow (NO!). Julian thinks it’s best that MD and Max keep the baby news between them so that Dan doesn’t find out (too late!) and put his nefarious plan into action. MD still doesn’t trust Ivana, but Julian thinks it would have been awfully dumb of her to tell Max the Santibañez baby-stealing plan if she was still in on it. Julian reminds MD that she can get the jump on Dan, by bringing charges against him for the rape and sending him to jail.

Max and Leo discuss how weird it is that Isela is living in their house and has become their parents’ protégé. Max thinks it’s just empty nest syndrome. Leo doesn’t think it’s fair how they're protecting Isela and persecuting Orlando.

MD and Isela wait in the doctor’s office, and MD has obviously asked her about Claudio. Isela swears once again that they aren’t lovers, and if her mother knew of these rumors, she’d kill her. MD reminds her that it was Josefa herself who told MD and Orlando that Isela has a rich lover from work. Isela swears that Jo lied just to mess with Orly’s head. MD warns her that if it’s true, she will have to tell Max. Isela tries to get Jo to back her up and puts her on speaker phone. She asks Jo to explain (i.e. lie about) why it looked like Claudio was handing her a check the day before. Instead of helping Isela out with an instant lie, Jo hangs up to go give the witnesses to the check handover, Espy and Honoria, a piece of her mind.

Ari stops Doris as she’s entering the vecinidad. She tells him off and he realizes that Orly tattled. She calls him no better than Isela—making money with his body, and not with his labor. He tries to put her in the same category, since he helped her with her investment into the business with MD. She assures him she will pay him back every cent, and soon-- then leaves him standing there looking like the fool he is.

Josefa actually does help Isela sustain her lie. She marches up to Espy and Hon, calls Isela, and they put each other on speaker phone for all to hear. Jo musters up some crocodile tears and spews some nonsense about how she has had no peace since Marta died after being accused of theft unjustly. She would have rather cut off her own hand than have Marta steal, and she certainly wouldn’t send Isela off to sleep with Bustamante for money. The reason why she got that money from Bustamante was for Espy and HER family. (And if you believe that one, I have some beachfront property in Iowa I want to sell you.)

Gerry assures Ivana that someday her prince will come. He’s worried that Susy will tear down everything he builds back up in Ivana. Despite it all, Ivana feels sorry for Susy, who has not left her side since her parents died, and is a woman with no love, faith, or hope in her life.

At the specialist's office, Claudio, dreading his appointment with the ED doctor, leaves a message for Isela wondering where she is. Alma comes in time to hear the tail end of the message, and wonders what the heck is up with him and Isela that's so important that he has to talk to her now.

The doctor confirms to MD that she’s pregnant. Seeing the less than thrilled expression on her face, he offers to help her with an abortion. “It’s your body, and no one but you can decide.” Isela takes the moral high ground and scolds the doctor for suggesting killing a human being. He once again states that it’s MD’s decision, and it is now legal in D.F. MD is in shock and runs out of the doctor’s office.

Doris and Espy talk about Josefa. Doris doesn’t believe for a second that Josefa got that money for them or that she’s changed so suddenly. Espy is willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Isela catches up to MD on the street. MD declares she is going to have her baby, and she’s going to bring charges against Dan! As soon as MD walks off, Isela checks in with Ursula and tells her that Maleny’s doctor scared off MD with abortion talk. Ursula admonishes Mal when she walks in, and Mal wonders how Ursula knows what happened. Ursula lies that she had Jacinto follow them and he heard them talking. Mal messed it all up, and now Ursula doesn’t know how they’ll get MD to see Dr. Medina.

Well, it seems that Ursula DID have Jacinto follow MD, and MD catches him at it. She starts slapping him and screaming, which drives the rat off. She chases after him, but loses him when he jumps into a cab. MD runs right into the street after the cab, and is about to get run over by another car, when Isela tackles her to the pavement, saving her life, but also knocking her unconscious.

Meanwhile, back at the Santibañez house of horrors, the gang’s all there for another warm family gathering. Dan, desperately in need of a bath, a shave, and a change of clothing, is momentarily delayed from his moping, by Maleny’s hysterical screams. Ursula tries to stop her as Mal tells Dan and Arango that Ursula is trying to get MD into Dr. Medina’s clutches so that they can do to her what they did to their father—KILL her and take her baby! Ursula says they need to get MD under THEIR control, and they need Medina to do it. She tells Dan about MD’s plans to bring charges against him. Dan runs out to find MD, and Ursula orders Arango to grab and lock up Maleny.

Arango takes advantage of his orders to lock Maleny up in the office to accost her. She shoves him off, and accuses him of being Ursula’s lapdog because he’s obsessed with her (Ursula). He admits it. He’s only had relations with Mal to see if for a moment he could forget Ursula! But it hasn’t worked. She will never be more than a shadow of what her mother is!

Jacinto calls Ursula from the cab and laughs about his run-in with MD. Ursula orders him to go back and get MD and bring her to horror house! Ursula then calls Dan and tells him to come back, because Jacinto is brining MD. Meanwhile, Isela, still with an unconscious MD, calls Maleny. Maleny tells Isela that she’s sending Medina to them. (Sweet Lord! This all is just HORRIBLE! Poor MD!) Maleny promises to get Ursula off his back permanently if Medina will help her. He agrees.

As if things couldn’t get worse for Maria Dolores, when she finally comes to, Jacinto pulls up in the taxi, shoves her into the cab, and holds her and Isela at bay with a knife. The cab driver gets spooked and tries to drive off with just MD, but Jacinto is able to jump in again when the cab gets stuck in traffic. He orders the cabbie to drive on as he holds the knife to MD’s throat. Isela looks on horrified. (What the hell did she think the Santibañez intended to do to MD?)

Isela calls Ursula and threatens to make her sorry if she doesn’t make Jacinto return MD. Ursula instead puts her on the phone with Maleny. Dan walks in and he and Ursula reveal that they are bringing MD there to make it clear to her that she cannot bring charges against the father of her child.

Ivana and Gerry share a happy moment over the new campaign he’s designed around the new collection—Renacer (Rebirth), inspired by women like Ivana who have been through hard times, and come out on the other side.

Jacinto brings MD into horror house, and she is confronted by the whole disgusting clan—Dan, Mal, Ursula, and Arango- as Jacinto stands guard. Dan congratulates MD on her pregnancy and tells her she can’t put her baby’s father in jail. She says, of course she can! Dan wonders what she’ll tell her child someday when he asks where his father is. MD claims that neither Dan nor Max is the father of her baby. It’s Julian!

At the office, Max asks Julian out for coffee.

Jacinto adds his two cents, like he has a right, and says MD isn’t that kind of ho (like Mal is) to be sleeping around with all those men. Apparently, he knows women. Blech! Plus, he heard her loud and clear just now when she was speaking to Isela about having her rapist’s baby.

Isela bumps into Espy and Doris in the courtyard, and they ask where is MD. Obviously the little heffa doesn’t tell them the truth, because we soon see her in Josefa’s apartment saying of course she wasn’t going to tell them that Jacinto took MD by force to horror house. Jos-Heffa laughs with glee at the thought. Josefa tells Isela about Claudio searching for her the day before, and gets on Isela’s case about not having enough sex with Claudio to keep him happy and satisfied. She gives her a whack on her behind and tells her she better be willing to do it wherever and whenever Claudio next wants.

MD tells the vipers that she lied to Isela, because Isela was already convinced the baby was Dan’s since she knew about the rape. Then MD uses the lies told about her to her advantage. She says this is the reason Julian came after Dan when he learned of the rape. She adds that Josefa is even a witness to her and Julian sleeping together. (Well played, MD!) Dan starts to lose it. Insisting the baby is his. Ursula calms him down by saying this can easily be proven with a DNA test. MD keeps her poker face with some difficulty.

Max and Julian speak about MD over coffee. Max doesn’t want Julian to keep worrying about helping MD and her family financially. Heck, HE can’t even convince MD to let him help. But that’s what he loves about her—that she’s so hard working and determined. He asks Julian, as MD’s life-long friend, and now his friend, to be present that weekend at the family engagement dinner (formal request for MD’s hand). Julian, with a smile tinged with sadness, agrees.

Ursula gets in MD’s face and tells her that she will soon feel the maternal instinct that will make her do anything to protect her child. But she’s warning MD—if she hurts Dan, then Ursula will hurt MD’s child. (Yikes!) “And if I find out it’s my grandchild, I will personally take him/her from you!” MD silently takes her leave, and tries not to collapse as she walks down the stairs and out the driveway. The monsters gather at the top of the stairs to watch her leave. MD swears to herself and her baby that she will NOT let them harm him/her. Her child is now the ONLY important thing in her life!

Gracias, Vivi, for taking one for the team on this horrifying episode. Not that we didn't see something even more disgusting coming from this snake pit that calls itself a family.

There is now no doubt in my mind that MD's nightmare isn't going to stop until this entire family of cannibals is dead and in the deepest level of Dante's Inferno. I'm actually surprised that they let MD leave, but the resolution if they had tried to keep her locked up would be too soon in view of the number of remaining episodes.

Ten bucks says that MD doesn't tell Max.

Thanks Urban. I felt like I needed 10 showers after this episode. Things just keep getting worse for MD.

Gracias Vivi! I was afraid that you did not have access to the blog but since you do my worries have dissapeared. The weather is quite noir here ( Endless rain, fog, nuns on bicycles , spooky men with their Jedi umbrellas)

Did not manage to catch up yet but I must say that MD's lie about the baby's father will only backfire on her but it was quite a great twist. When I watched the avances on Youtube I had to shake myself twice. She should have atleast lied that the baby is Max's instead of making Julian's life more miserable than it already is.

"There is now no doubt in my mind that MD's nightmare isn't going to stop until this entire family of cannibals is dead and in the deepest level of Dante's Inferno" I agree on this one perfectly Urban! Until the lair of reptiles is ten feet under there is no chance in Hell of them stopping with their hideous schemes.

I didn't catch every line of dialogue but I have to laugh at the idea that Mama Bear can steal Ivana's company and make it more profitable. Both her cubs are incompetent at anything useful and she never fails to point that out.

Arango telling Maleny that is is only a shadow of her mother was interesting, too. So he has never boinked Mama Bear after all. Well, considering how poisonous she is that could be why he's still alive.

I was floored that MD said Julian was the father of her baby. This will bite her on the tush because she didn't tell Max she's pregnant. Max is smart enough about other men to see that this is not possible, but I'm not so sure how smart he is about women. He still hasn't figured out that Isela is his father's other woman. When that comes to light he will go ballistic. The lie about Julian will not hold up for a lot of reasons.

And there is the issue of Esperanza's health.

When MD was knocked down by the car I was hoping for a miscarriage, but no dice; at least not yet. But Jacinto holding her at knifepoint was too much. Despite that they let her leave I hope this counts as a kidnapping, because it's getting added to all their rap sheets.

Totally awesome Vivi and thank you for pointing out very relevant detail!

"Isela feigns concern, suggests the little blue pill, then smirks knowingly at Alma’s retreating back"

Wow, MD spent all that time speaking with Julian concerned about Ivana and totally ignored the elephant in the room. Thankfully Julian pointed out she needs to send Dan to jail.

Usurala is much better at calling bluffs and threats than MD. If MD really wanted to send Dan to jail the complaint would have already been filed and Ursula knows it. MD won't and Max again will be the last to know she's pregnant. While I believe Dan will tell their child it's mother sent the father to prison. By the time he could do that he would be behind bars for many years. If she considers this seriously as a deterrent I'll be mad. Max will be a very old man before MD gets Dan out of her life and that wedding happens.

If MD buys another lie of Isela's she is and idiot. No 911, no Max only Ursula she calls.

Right, Tofie. How is Isela going to explain to MD that she told no one (not Max, Julian, Doris, or Orly) that Jacinto snatched her up at knife-point from the street? Isela doesn't even have to tell people they were coming out of a clinic, and folks already know Jacinto has it in for MD.

What a horrid episode. Thank you Vivi for working through it for us. There were so many twist and turns with it I had a lot of trouble figuring things out, but your recap really helped.

Isela is simply a monster like her mother. That is all.

I was really frustrated that MD told them that Julian was the father. I just wish she had told Max during that conversation about the Santibanez plan to take the baby from her that she was pregnant. Now that she's involving Julian in this mess, they will go after him.

Can anyone tell me what Adriano told Isela yesterday about Marta's case? I didn't quite get it.

MD won't tell Max or her mother and guess protecting her secret is the excuse Isela will give for not calling anyone. It was at knife point and any passerby, the taxi driver and MD should assume the worst outcome but Isela knew better after speaking with Ursula. Does MD use her head, because she was kidnapped and Isela did nothing?

We can put to rest Gerry's proclivity. Shouldn't matter if they want to be together. I know a couple (male/female) together 30 years and the love and respect for each other transcends sexual orientation.

cathyx, I'll take a stab at it but also uncertain. There was mystery surrounding Marta's death, especially one in prison where no weapons or means should be available to commit suicide. The person supervising the cell block was subsequently transferred/promoted and now holds a high position at that prison, warden perhaps.

Good Gracious, Vivi--You had to climb down into the sewer for this recap. You came out smelling like a rose. The rest of that scum is covered in sh** A bow to you, my friend.

It seemed to me (not having watched it twice) that Isela was not trying to stop Jacinto at all, nor try to rescue MD as he shoved her into the cab--she seemed to be aiding and abetting, by standing around yelling. Grrrr. I'm so tired of this girl. Is she *really* being manipulated by her mother, or has she cut the apron strings and is out on her own manipulation schemes (that's rhetorical, not a real question...)

Cathyx- Yep. Isela is a monster. Her ability to so easily and disregard her life-long friend's well-being makes me shudder.

Tofie- That sounds about right to me about what Adrian found. All that, in addition to the file being kept for so long in the archives. It raises red flags to him.

Anita- It actually looked at one point to me like Isela has helping to shove MD INTO the taxi.

ITA with you all that MD will only bring more trouble to her and Julian (and Max) with this lie. But it was effective in the moment for throwing Dan into a tizzy and throwing the monsters off their game. Of course, Ursula always remains as cool as the lizard she is, and calls MD's bluff.

Vivi, good recap, of a horrible episode. This is

"Miscarriage", spelling correction needed.↑

Agree about the file and thought he said it should have been purged and that was unusual but was afraid I heard wrong.

Isela did help briefly to get her in the car, the only one that tried to do anything was the cab driver and I think it was for self preservation. Wonder why he didn't call it in after dropping them off or because it was a rick folks home just let it slide.

Islea crossed over long ago but know she'll try to slither back as she uncovers more on Claudio. I hate that MD continues to keep her as a confidant. Doris should be the one with her at the doctors office.

While I understand defending her child a priority, I hate it is her only motivation now. The underlying issue all along is Daniels obsession with her and her reluctance to put the guy away for rape, proactively. She's talked and threatened but done nothing. I don't believe Dan wants the child to go to Ivana as Usurla does but as leverage to remain in MD's life forever. So, MD could effectively defend the child against Usurla while giving Daniel what he wants inadvertently. Her fight is against Dan and hope her shift in priority includes putting him away because nothing to this point has been enough. Not being humiliated, raped, Julian or Max and not the disclosure of Ursula and Dan's plan by Ivana. In fact she told Max to postpone filing charges against Dan for arson (though she had Ivana's promise to help) right before her trip to the doctor and abduction. Why does she continue to do things that ultimately protect Dan and ends up hurting her, her family and Max?

Maria Dolores' constant lying is why I really can't get behind her. I won't have any sympathy for her when Honoria lays the smackdown on her for pulling Julian into her schemes.

If you want to protect your baby so bad, TELL MAX! TELL THE MAN WHO WANTS TO BECOME YOUR HUSBAND! But no, she would prefer to lie and "handle it by herself" aka doing nothing.

I wonder if there's some sort of backstory on Ursula and Vera Duval? What was Hector's profession?

Maria Dolores (if she had a brain) should take note of the fact that Isela pushed her into the cab.

A great recap, Vivi, as usual.

What a horrible family. Now, how long will it take to tell Max about her pregnancy and her horrible experience with Dan's family.

Ann-NYC

I should have added MD to tell Max.

I am going to guess that MD fears reprisals. What could be worse than last night's episode? Murder of Esperanza, Clara, Max, Leo. Her baby if it's Max's. She really should be wearing a wire at all times.

Or getting out of the country.

She and Max should have gotten married by a judge on the day he proposed. Lots of couples get married during wartime and that's what this has become.

Anon207 I let up on her for a few nights after she told Max about the rape (he was gonna find out anyway), looked like she started to smile lovingly at Max and trust him but she slipped right back for me last night. Of course she cannot prevent Dan and his gang from attempts but if she wanted to end this she could by telling Max everything as it happens. MD's lies, to protect her mother, Clara or Max, directly or indirectly, have caused Julian to be in a wheelchair, Max close to an 8 year prison sentence, burned out of the business and thrown out of the house. Only thing that has happened to Dan is a good ass whipping, that he wanted. IF MD told Max what went down last night and why, he could go after all of them for kidnapping and sit back as they turned on each other. Bet Jacinto would point right at Usurla and tell she ordered him to snatch MD off the street. Bye bye Usurla.

Considering that Ursula isn't broke, I doubt that Jacinto could do anything to defend himself from her. Arango would never allow Ursula to end up in prison if Jacinto tried to finger her. Could you imagine a judge trying to untangle all the lies that have been told for all the different reasons? I think he'd sign himself into a manicomio because none of this would be believable.

Thus far we've known very little about Arango (I don't even remember his first name) but we know now that he has had a long-term obsession with Ursula. That is why he is going along with all her schemes. His motive for telling her that she and her spawn are bankrupt is likely to have been to get her to marry them off to money so he could get them out of their lives and he could marry Ursula and move into the mansion.

Knowing how Ursula is, we can see this backfiring on him. She could easily take out a serious life insurance policy on him and arrange a nasty little accident in order to collect.

Thanks Vivi for a stellar recap and also for clarifying the sequence of events on Monday's post. I have had it with MD9almost). Basta! By the grace of God MD stop being such a ninny. She will caused great harm to Julian with this lie. Yes, she was desperate to throw the wolf pack off her back but throw them at Julian? How will this man defends himself against Dan? MD better run and confess the whole truth and nothing but the truth to Julian and Max. If she doesn't than I will have no pity for whatever comes her way. You want to protect your child but Julian is Hono's "child" too so in turn she should do whatever to defend him. I don't know why but I think MD does NOT want to put Dan in jail. So he gets a pass for raping her? I laughed when Dan says you can't put your child's dad in jail. Por favor! Why the hell not when he's a rapist! I will decide how much credit I give MD if she comes clean with Max and Julian, tonight or soon enough, before Julian pays for this lie with his life, God forbids.
Romy

Urban, I have always suspected that there was something off about Arango. I believe he was the one who killed Hector and is secretly manipulating Ursula and her family for his own gains. It would be hilariously awesome if Maly and Arango try to run away together with Ursula's money while tossing Ursula and Dan out of the house . I wonder who would be the first to start firing bullets if it actually happened.

These reptiles will never stop doing harm to others so if they start eating eachother it would be most deserved. Only Isidro should be spared!
And then it turns out that Isidro killed Hector because he collected a debt for the Italian Mob.

What do you all think of Maleny's theory that Ursula plans to kill MD and take her baby (with Dr. Medina's help)? And were you surprised that Mal seemed to be upset about that possibility?

Considering how Ursula whisked Ivana off to an isolated location, kept her drugged up, and then tried to kill her immediately after she married Dan, I can see her trying to repeat the same scenario with MD-- just waiting until after she gives birth to knock her off.

Oh no no no, not the Italian Mob. If we are talking about Mexico than Isidro must have killed Hector to collect a debt for Aurelio Casillas! This means that not one member of the clan of Vultures can get spared, all must be buried ten feet under to achieve world peace!!

Note that above was just a joke but could this really be the first time in which one whole family has to croak so that they stop commiting evil?
When all about Maly unravels she would be fit for a manicomio.
Arango could get arrested alongside Ursula.
Dan would be fit to croak because otherwise he would never leave MD to leave in peace. .
Ursula could land in prison , then released but still be socially excluded. Death is too easy for her.

But now MD has valid justification, her child. If protecting her child means Dan gets a pass again, he gets a pass. If she believes for a minute now they are incapable of murdering someone, including her family, she really is an idiot. Sure it would be tough to convict any one of them but it's not like they just bumped into someones parked car or there is no evidence and you would have Ivana Duval and the Bustamante name in support of MD.

MD talks trash about Dan and throws out insults but she does not want to take him down. What is she afraid of? That he's gonna hurt her or someone she loves, well he already has and will again. (I agree, Ursula will kill MD soon as that baby is born). In conversation when someone makes a derogatory comment about Dan all MD does is tell them she doesn't want to talk about him and has a forlorn look. Sick really, the best person to stop the end game is Maleny.

Maleny is likely to unravel completely and become a Family Annihilator. That description usually is applied to a man who loses his job or suffers bankruptcy, then wipes out his family and usually himself.

MD needs to tell Max everything yesterday. As for Julian, I can't imagine what else they could do to him. He's in a wheelchair and he's barely making ends meet for himself and his mother. That has to be the Santibanez' idea of hell.

I don't think Maleny actually cares if Ursula kills MD. She had no concern about MD's well being after Danny violently raped her, so why would she care if Ursula killed her? I think Mal may be upset another child will come under Ursula's control (to be destroyed like she & her brother) or that MD's child will be a replacement for Maleny.

Ursula already has little use for Maleny and Maleny knows it; DANIEL's child would automatically bump her out of Ursula's attention altogether.

Isela is enjoying her games; for once she is the puppetmaster, not the puppet. She's enjoying the power she has, and that has nothing to do with Josefa's bidding. That's all on Isela. Josefa created a monster and Isela WILL turn on Josefa. It's just a matter of time.

I agree with your assessment of Maleny's motivation Anon207. She is focused on taking down Ursula not protecting MD but in doing so MD benefits.

Great comments! I wonder if the writers are aware of Caray Caray and perhaps these comments help them come up with ideas for future episodes. You guys are great!

Ann-NYC

Maleny definitely resents playing distant second to Danny-Boy and will certainly never accept being third to any spawn of his. That might be the one thing that finally pushes her over the edge to kill Ursula.

But Ursula is clever enough to know this and probably has a back-up plan for that day.

AnnNYC, this series is long over in Mexico, but I wish they'd read us for future ideas for novelas!

Quite frankly I am really sick of seeing MD commit mental and psychological suicide the girl is not even thinking clearly. If she was she would have told someone that could help her a long time ago. she's not a good liar and she's not a good bluffer, she cannot play the games that these people do because she's not used to being around cold blooded killers like these people, she should have told max what happened to her and she should tell him that she's pregnant but instead she tries to fix it for herself and she ends up in bigger trouble and this time she's drug an innocent man into it a man, that can't even defend himself because he's in a wheelchair. AGAIN, because of her and the
Poor choices she makes. Now are we being hard on Maria Dolores? Yes!!! the hell we are cuz that girl don't think!!! Before she acts. If
You're a bunny rabbit, you can't play in a
Snake den. These people will swallow her up.

Nina, I think they already have. Based on last night's episode she is done for until that den of cannibals turns in on itself.

We can see that nothing will make them stop short of death. Nothing will ever make them leave her alone, including the law. Restraining orders mean nothing in Mexico and the law means nothing to these people. I'm not even sure what it would take to expose them to the world or whether that would even do any good.

Oh, I forgot, Urban, about TNs showing in Mexico before we see it. But you guys DO come up with great ideas and plots. They're missing out.

Wow.

Late to the party, but man, what a party it was!
Vivi Stellar first official Creo recap! It paid tribute well to the roller-coaster-ride-of-an-episode that we had last night. Several times I was actually glad for the commercial breaks so that I could assimilate everything: Josefa's confrontation, MD chasing Jacinto (?! I actually laughed! She said "Why are you following me?!" and then chased him down the street!), Jacinto kidnapping her, Ursula locking Mal in the office (where she saw her father killed and almost killed herself), MD claiming Julian was the father. Good lord, what a show!

I think MD called Julian because 1) she doesn't think he has anything the Eels want 2) Everyone else has been claiming it and he is her best guy friend, so on the list of potential fathers, he's close to the top. Why she didn't say Max is more of a mystery. I'm thinking it's because she knows Dan hates him so much that he'd try to kill him and Max would retaliate, but she knows they think Julian is beneath them, so they might not bother. I've said it before and UA said it again earlier: she needs to record them. She needs to get them on tape, video if possible. She needs to get hard evidence against them.

Mal's concern for MD being killed was surprising to me too. But then I figured she just doesn't want her mother to get away with another murder (and maybe fears she'll catch some/a lot/most of the blame for it. Again.)

Ok, I'm holding out slightly less hope on the Gerry/Ivana front, but only because I do think her journey is about self-confidence and this show is good enough and aware enough to know that that doesn't require a galan. It's probably the one time I've ever rooted for a TN romance so whole heatedly, but at the same time would also root for the alternative; just like I'm pleasantly shocked that I get to see two non size 0-2 protags(/antag), I'd love to see a female protag(/antag) find her happy ending without a guy.

It it feel hysterical to anyone else that Jacinto ended up supporting MD's sexual honor?!

She said some of this with her eyes, but when Ursula spewed her stuff about Dan and the baby etc, and MD looked at Dan, I really wanted her to walk up to him and say, with real astonishment, like someone waking up maybe, "I can't believe I ever loved you."

Hellashelle- You may be late to the party, but what great commentary from you. Thanks for adding your clear thoughts to all of our addled ones. :)

And yes, it was very surreal that Jacinto of all people was testifying about MD's honor.

I really hope tonight we get the momentum swinging back toward the good guys. I want MD to tell Max she's pregnant, I want a move on Doris by Orlando, and I want Isela to get knocked down a peg or two.

Cathyx- I would also like to see those charges against Orly get dropped. That's the only good thing Isela did this episode, even though she did it with lies.

Cathyx - this show is so good, I'm expecting full satisfaction when the truth finally surfaces.

Vivi - and what great comments they were! Some of the ones that stood out for me:

Anita:"Good Gracious, Vivi--You had to climb down into the sewer for this recap. You came out smelling like a rose. The rest of that scum is covered in sh** A bow to you, my friend." that says it all. It was a stellar recap and sparked great comments. Vivi - you are super awesome.
Anon207:"Isela is enjoying her games; for once she is the puppetmaster, not the puppet."
Nina:"I am really sick of seeing MD commit mental and psychological suicide" Yes! MD: Enough with martyrdom! You are not the almight head of the household that has to replace your father by making all of the monsters go away! Trust me: even your dad would get help for these monsters.
CountX:"And then it turns out that Isidro killed Hector because he collected a debt for the Italian Mob." This one had me rolling! Can anyone imagine a crossover with MIVAC?! Talk about universes colliding! Could they be any further apart on the TN Fluff scale? LOLOLOL!!!

I will have the most satisfaction in this entire TN when/if Alma catches Claudio and Isela having sex while he is "suffering" from erectile disfunction.

LOL, Cathyx!
