Caray, Caray!

Hi guys! I'm gonna be new to the Lichita team. I guess there was a mixup and Cece was good enough to post her own recap, so I'm just dropping in here with a few notes!

Lichita is definitely enjoying being more assertive: she gets the grocery store boss to release Elsa's paycheck (but she's not getting hired again... the boss's jackass grandson is mostly in charge now), and later talks the cops out of her home when they come with the furious neighbors to question Magos about her skeevy neighborhood savings scheme.

In a cute aside, Lichita says "God doesn't hear people who don't speak up.... And I'm not shutting up anymore."



We do see Magos bust in that windshield, and she is very clearly caught on camera, but we probably won't see that develop into the trouble she deserves for a little bit. I'm with Cece and the rest of you, Magos' comeuppance can't come soon enough. I got especially mad when, today, Magos got her mom to pay back the neighbors she'd essentially robbed out of her last paycheck.

Augusto's got something going on... He has received several sketchy phone calls (you can tell they're bad and important by the music) about his upcoming "trip" to "new york," and he even cancels on Sandra for the sexy trip to Miami that he was ditching his wife to go do. He tells each woman he has an important business trip.

In terms of the work at Ikonico, they have to make an important ad pitch to a mattress company very early the next morning (and sandra wants them to get in before any rival ad companies, so it has to be EXTRA early, shocking and horrifying Luciana, for whom early is, like, 9). They of course only find this out at the last minute, so by some contrivance they need a hotel close to the mattress factory where they can get some work done. The only available place for them is a sex hotel, amusing everyone. They "need" a projector and screen so they can get work done, but the proprietor happily informs him that all their movies come from a *special* channel and they don't have projector screens.

Anyway, Lichita is still pretty psyched about her first business trip.

The other active bit of plot concerns Roberto and his kid. The social worker notes that he is an unstable and seedy character and doesn't even have his name on the deed of the place he's staying. Gumaro tries to cheer him up with the revolutionary idea of actually paying for an apartment. We'll see how that pans out. In the meantime, the couple that wants to adopt Roberto's kid have decided to tail Beto to see if they can prove he's an unworthy father. They see him drive to the sex hotel (where all the Ikonico people are working) and draw the obvious conclusions.
