Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #69 Monday 11-30-15 (Mex 98) Three Bright Ideas on The Battlefield of Luuuurve!
Back at the ranch Gianna excitedly tells Fiorella about Benni being sacked! It's an injustice and they must do something! There's nothing that can be done except go and talk to Benni and offer their support. But get a load of this, goes Fiorella and she tells Gianna all about Gianluca whom they were just talking about! He's here and he's Vittorio's nephew! Whoa! Gianna gets all excited and sees Luc as a possibly saving Fiorella from The Dragon. Is Gianluca still in love with her? Oh no! He was her first love but that's it. That was long ago and far away. What would Vitto think if his own nephew came to Mexico to sweep her off her feet. That suits Gianna just fine! Of course, Fifi has to marry Vitto because he's sick. Sheesh, I thought being sick meant you needed a Doctor, not a beautiful, virignal young woman! Fiorella goes off to see Benni and Gigi begs off going with her as she gets a note from Gael under the door asking her to meet him in the kitchen in twenty minutes.
Vitto just gets started talking to Luc when Diana (who was probably hovering around the door) walks in just in time to hear that Luc is Fifi's first beau. Now it's Diana's turn to get excited as she suggests through a wide and brilliant grin that destiny must be giving Vitto a message. Vitto waves her off but leaves the office to attend to something. Diana sits down and starts in on Luc. . .oh, didn't seeing her again after all this time really move him? Where the flames of love once burned, smoldering ashes still remain. Luc denies this is the case but feels the need to find Fiorella to "clarify things." Diana happily gives Luc her address.
At the ranch again Sonia is pressuring Assvaldo to know what Benigno's answer is to Assvaldo being the President of the merged company born of Benigno's swindle. If Helloisa is the hold up, Benigno needs to convince her. Just then Benigno calls Assvaldo who goes into Pedro's office to talk to him. Sonia fends off Dante from entering the office with a lie about a key Dante wants already having been taken and then Pedro by proposing a private session with her at his bachelor party. Peter tells her to get lost with all the fervor and attitude of a wet dishrag but Sonia breaks off the come on as she sees Assvaldo exit the office.
Freddie flits by to accuse Sonia of trying to arrange a little nookie session with her favorite cousin on the eve of his wedding. She giggles and goes upstairs.
Aitana offers support to an increasingly desperate Roxana by reminding her that Benni is not of their class, he can't support her Princess lifestyle, she had a good time, tell him adios!
Gianna and Gael meet in the kitchen and bemoan their plight, separated by the EEevil trio, Granny, Osvaldo and Dante. She tells Gael about Osvaldo's threat. Gianna doesn't want Gael to fight his family: they'd send him away! He parts with a kiss on her head.
Fiorella arrives at Adela's and Rey's. Now, they are sweet people but Rey's voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard and they always yip and yap at the same time! Sheesh! Benito ushers them out of the room so he and Fifi can talk privately. Fiorella notes Benni's smashed phone, offers her support and the subject of Tania comes up. Benni's got an idea! He kisses Fiorella on her forehead and takes off!
Freddie wonders aloud to Dante if Sonia and Pedro have a thang goin' on. Forget that, HE's worried about that Santino dude who is definitely after something. Freddie thinks they need to concentrate on getting the documents that prove the fraud committed against her father. She would LOVE to ruin Pedro's wedding with that bomb! Sergio's entry into the room breaks up this little fuss-fest. He stops to tell Dante he loves his smile; it's evidence that love has found him. Dante makes a face like intestinal cramps have found HIM.
Now Luc has arrived at the ranch and after perfunctory oh how you've grown type comments Gianna jumps right in. Gianna asks if he still loves Fiorella. She's beautiful as always but no, that's all past. Why does he not want her to marry his uncle? Answer, it's clear that she doesn't love him but is doing it out of a sense of obligation and that's not fair to either of them. Um, I think Vile Vitto would beg to differ. Anywho, the two plot. Luc rejects a plan to convince Vitto that Fifi is still in love with him: he doesn't want to hurt Vittorio. Gianna shares that Vittorio knows Fiorella is in love with another man but he didn't care but just kept pursuing her in his mad obsession. The two figure somehow that if he didn't care about her loving another man before, the other man might as well be him! Luc will convince Vitto that Luc, his own nephew, is still in love with Fiorella! Our first bright idea in the service of true luuuuuurve!
RPC. Sonia and Osvaldo do some face-eating to celebrate the prospect of him being named head of the newly merged Benigno/ACorp company.
In the foyer Pedro shows Fidel the wedding rings. Fidel asks how he's feeling about his upcoming wedding and, by the way, how's Fiorella. Pedro feels he's recuperating what he had with Aitana but gets a little testy at the Fiorella question and dismisses Fidel, who leaves. Pedro's on his way up the stairs and drops one of the rings which rolls right at Fiorella's feet. Hmmm, either she's got a ruby embedded in her ankle or a nasty scab. Ooops. Back on topic. She picks up the ring. Pedro asks if they're both making a big mistake. The Patio wonders if we all made a big mistake weeks ago when this thing started. Ooops. Concentrate. Lady Godiva breezes in and chortles over the rings and cheeses and carries on for Fiorella's benefit. Fiorella, as usual, rewards this effort by looking smacked down and stricken. Aitana flits up the stairs. Pedro gets a call from Benito.
Luca calls Fiorella to come to La Dolce Vita. He must talk to her pronto!
Gael and Roxi talk about Benito's expulsion and Granny's iron grip control over their love lives. Gael even begrudginly says he understands Granny's point of view of not wanting to see the family fortune in the hands of employees. He suggests Roxi ought to pretend to be with someone else to throw the old heffa off Benni's scent. Roxi rejects the idea but from the quiet sparkle in Gael's eyes, seems HE now has an idea!
Roxi goes to her room and tries and tries to reach Benni. Remember, Benni smashed his phone in a fit of rage over his firing earlier in the day. Aitana comes in A-GAIN to rag Roxi about loving a boy from the wrong side of the tracks. What's more, she accuses him of being after her money so forget about him honey!
So long story short on the conversation between Benigno and Helloisa. Benigno presses for Assy to be head of the merged company, Granny, knowing how Assvaldo has earned his nickname from the Patio, resists and is not budging until Benigno fakes a confession of his real reason for insisting on Assvaldo. It's because he doesn't want any of the difficulties and challenges of a business relationship to interfere with his relationship with Pedro as his son in law. Bingo! Benigno reels the old mackerel in: Assvaldo will be President of the new fused company.
We suffer a scene with the slime ball, Anibal, in prison. His cell mate is about to be sprung from the joint and accepts an assignment from Anibal to spy on and stalk Diana to find out if she's seeing any other man. Anibal's got the right, don't ya know, because she had his baby! Cell mate dude will accept payment when Anibal gets out of the slammer.
Ok, so Benni called Pedro who meets with him and the big dummy threatens Pedro with going to the press about his relationship with the late Tania unless he is allowed to return to the ranch. Pedro isn't the least bit intimidated and within minutes Benni is extricating both feet from his mouth and then filling it with crow. Pedro tells him he really effed up: He, Pedro, was on his side for staying at the ranch and was not against his relationship with Roxi but this cruel and cynical blackmail attempt has made him certain that Bennie does NOT deserve to return to the ranch AND he is NOT the man for Roxana! So much for Benni's bright idea.
Next, we get Gael's light bulb moment. Long story short, he goes to Alina's office and tries to recruit her to pretend to be her boyfriend to fake his family out. Alina gently but firmly and with a smile tells him NO WAY will she do that. IT'S UNETHICAL!!! Can y'all believe it? Yah. She actually said that! Alina even repeats the word, "NO" several times. This perspective and vocabulary should have been called into service a couple of months ago. What. Ever!
Roxi's jumping up and down, hair pulling fit is interrupted by undercover Mama, Quina. Roxi makes a pact. If Quina is so sorry for busting her and getting Benni kicked off the ranch and if she cares about her so much, then she will go with her to Benni's house and apologize to him. NOW! Quina agrees!
Finally, we find Luc and Fiorella in the office of La Dolce Vita where he is about to launch the third bright idea of the evening. Fiorella wants to know what was so urgent. Luc claims he just can't seem to forget Fiorella. . .her Windsong stays on his mind. . . . sorry, I'm a sucker for old commercial jingles. Anyway, he's only trying to say what is in his heart! Remember how happy they were. They're grown now, they won't make the same mistakes! Fiorella says what is wrong is him telling her all this knowing she is about to marry his Uncle.
"The only mistake is that you marry him!" Luc grasps Fiorella's face in his hands and lays a big old smacker right on Fiorella's lips as Vittorio walks into the office and gets a big old eyeful!

Gianluca and Gianna plotting = awesome! I mean, it's a terrible idea and it's never going to work, but I love that they tried. "her Windsong stays on his mind" Bahahahaha! Perfect! I'm actually glad that he's not into her like that but just realizes she's miserable and cares enough to try to do something about it. Maybe we can make it a 2-for-1 and make Pedro jealous enough to call off the unholy matrimony with Aitana at the same time. Just thinking out loud there.
"Bennie does NOT deserve to return to the ranch AND he is NOT the man for Roxana!" Yeah, um...blackmail: Fi does it better.
"IT'S UNETHICAL!!! Can y'all believe it? Yah. She actually said that!" I was so giving her a look. And shaking my head.
"Dante makes a face like intestinal cramps have found HIM." Was truly hilarious and hilariously true.
"The Patio wonders if we all made a big mistake weeks ago when this thing started." Well...it's still better than LG?
Was Anibal's cellmate the ex-chauffeur who got accused of being the one to switch out the eye drops? Or does the actor just look like that guy?
Thank you Lila for your great recap. And yes Diva, Animals cellmate is Ramiro, Assvaldos ex chaffeur.
"The Patio wonders if we all made a big mistake weeks ago when this thing started. Ooops. " Indeed!!
So loving this new twist with Luc. Just to be able to take Vitto down. He'll probably get all in his face and forget he's supposed to be sick and dying ( and I still want a fake hair loss!)Too bad he's actually a cutie and there isn't anyone to line him up with.
I so enjoy the little snippets we get with Gael and Gianna--lord they are a cuteness overload. But not sure Gael's plan for either himself or Roxi will work. I guess this is where the comedic aspect of the show will come in?
So disappointed in what the writers had Benni do. I mean c'mon.
Eloisa thinking Asshat could run any company is beyond the pale. Fun watching her think she has the upper hand and then she is conned to submission.
And I'll say it...I'm tired of the token angsty Petey/Fi moments. This would have played better if they were just apart for awhile. Now I'm just tired of the stupidity of what both are doing.
Daisynjay
I am hoping Freddie can blow up Pedro's wedding at the last minute, and that Luc or somebody can interrupt Fi and Vitto's.
Have we ever been told what the ranch does? Is it a going commercial entity, or is it just a big back yard where rich spoiled people ride horses?
Yeah, it's going to be hard for Vitto to play the role of a dying man at the same time that he thumps his chest and tries to outdo his way younger nephew.
Aitana's snooty outlook on life is fun to watch. I wonder how deep her family's pockets are, and whether they can withstand a collapse of their business. It would be funny to see her aspiring to be a menial worker because she has no resources, useful education or useful contacts.
Time for Fi to insist on a second medical opinion.
David
"Vitto enters the room and smells the conspiratorial air", "I thought being sick meant you needed a Doctor, not a beautiful, virignal young woman!" and "her Windsong stays on his mind" were but a few of my favorites.
I really didn't think Benigno was going to be able to talk Helloisa into giving Assvaldo the title. But he did find her Achilles heel. I kept thinking what an unlikeable bunch of people these are...
The true shame of this would be if Luc doesn't end up with someone who deserves him. Are we sure he and Vitto are truly related??
I like Gael but I'm tiring somewhat of his ruses...I wish he'd get some REAL professional help and speak with a friend or adult who might support or help him. Clearly, that is none of the characters in this story.
daisy, blackmail is not in Benito's repertoire. It was a ridiculous ploy and though he may not be the brightest character here, it just made no sense. I am not sure now how he is going to get his job back.
Kat, I think you are right about Anibal's cell mate. Thanks for pointing that out. The only thing I could remember is that the actor was in La Verdad Occulata. Sigh.
Aitana is a total turn off to me. I feel a tiny bit sorry for her as she has such reprehensible parents but she agreed to this whole sham and now it's up to her to pull out.
Thanks Lila!
Diana
Maybe we can make it a 2-for-1 and make Pedro jealous enough to call off the unholy matrimony with Aitana at the same time.
Mi piace! I like it!
This episode was actually kind of fun. I was tired when I started the recap but got a second wind from somewhere. Now, with Vivi not watching this, whose the Patio resident eagle eye to verify this. It ain't me:
Was Anibal's cellmate the ex-chauffeur who got accused of being the one to switch out the eye drops? Or does the actor just look like that guy?
Grazie, Marla! Thank you! I should have kept reading. If that is the ex chauffeur, I probably mentioned some important dialogue. We should have known he wasn't gone for good. Methinks he will wreak some havoc on the Angeles household!
Since Vittorio doesn't have children, maybe Gianluca is there to inherit the restaurants, the Keebler Elves Crack House, and the rest of Vittorio's fortune. Then if he likes babies Diana can pursue him. What could be better than a cute young Italian Stallion with a fortune?
There has been a theme among some of the characters about tempting fate. Rox and Cousin Itt had a conversation about that some weeks ago and Diana seems to have warned Vittorio about this when he first talked about faking illness. She fell into the trap by visiting Anibal, whom I'm sure is still obsessed with Julieta and whatever a$$et$ she has. Helloisa, on the other had, is tempting Divine Retribution for what she's been up to.
More later. I need more caffeine.
Yes. That was the chauffeur that was framed for the eye drops, and he mentioned to Anibal that he wants vengeance on the Angeles. I say, have at it dude! Unfortunately, he'll be delayed by the stalk Diana gig.
I think all of these schemes will fail, but at least Beni, Gi, Luca, and Gael are being proactive. Unlike Pedro and Fi who are letting themselves be led to slaughter without putting up a fight.
So disappointed in what the writers had Benni do. I mean c'mon.
You know, I've never been a fan of Benni but I have to agree with you hear. They really forced that one. I can't even remember how Tania came up in the conversation between Benni and Fifi. . .geez, low blow!
And what the writers did to Petey and Fifi:
And I'll say it...I'm tired of the token angsty Petey/Fi moments. This would have played better if they were just apart for awhile. Now I'm just tired of the stupidity of what both are doing.
Nobody did separation angst better than Letty and Fer in the pre Aldo days, these two ain't cuttin' it.
Grazie, David!
Have we ever been told what the ranch does? Is it a going commercial entity, or is it just a big back yard where rich spoiled people ride horses?
Yep! I think you pretty much got it and where an aged matriarch plays puppeteer with all the spoiled rich people so the moolah can stay on the pretty ranch!
Yah, let's see Vitto forget family ties and take down his young, strapping nephew! If Fifi is smart she'll note this interaction and do just what you say, David. Hey! I hope Fifi gets excited and breaks up the fight by saying, "stop, don't hurt your poor uncle! He's got an inoperable brain tumor that makes him cough and be short of breat!" Then I hope Luc busts him for the conniving liar he is!
Mille grazie, Dianita! Hey, Diana! Do you think now that Benito is on the s*it list for the blackmail attempt that Roxi and Luc would. . . .no, she doesn't deserve him or better yet, he doesn't deserve that spoiled, bratty brat. If Roxi is headed for redemption, let her give up her Princess life and go live with Benni and his screeching parents: now THAT would be love!
Yes. That was the chauffeur that was framed for the eye drops, and he mentioned to Anibal that he wants vengeance on the Angeles.
Yep, he should be wanting vengeance. Oh, this is getting good! Luc's involvement, the coming disasters with the Benigno/Acorp/Assvaldo rip off scheme, Freddie probably showing her tail big time at Pedro's wedding. Yeah, good times ahead!
Hey! Has anybody died yet in this thing. As a recapper I should remember. There are lot of potential killers and death facilitators around. Oh gosh! I just thought about Ass boy's intentions towards Gianna! Perish the thought!! Ponies and rainbows! Ponies and rainbows!
Yes, Urban, the tempting fate, resisting destiny and broken promises to God are all strong themes in this. Vitto is tempting fate with the lying way he hooked the "innocent" Fifi. Oh, please let Luc be an important character who helps to break this fantasy bubble from hell Petey and Fifi are in!
Are we out of the doldrums, Peeps!
Maximo (smothered by Helloisa at his own request)
Gabriel (shot by Dante)
Assvaldo Sr and wife (road accident, I think)
Pilar (overdose)
*I can't wait to see Federica freak out when she finds out she's boinking her father's killer.
And every character now who swears revenge on the Angeleses, instead of rolling my eyes like I usually do, I just think "Go for it! And make it good!"
It's possible I have a problem :p
Diva, thine heart is not evil and you don't have a problem. These people have been asking for it and we deserve a continuous crashing of anvils from now till the end!
The comments here from our Patio Peeps are hysterical, too! All y'all are brightening this grey rainy cold day for me.
Maybe we need to include the FiGi convos to our Drink!/Chocolate! game?
Gi: Do not marry Vitto. You don't love him
Fi: But he us sick and besides I promised
Wouldn't it be a hoot if Seaweed Hair has the most dire case of love at first sight the minute she sees Luc?
Anybody think there is the remotest possibility of the human hair pin having a change of heart, confessing at the altar that she does NOT love Pedro and she won't go through with the wedding?
I know, it's sounding corny even as I type it. . just stirring the pot. Why do these things make you want to hook up all the unattached characters?
Diana is such a vulture, trying to manipulate everything so that she has a chance with Vitto. This behavior cannot be rewarded in telenovelaland, can it? So she should either end up alone or, worse yet, with Anibal.
Maybe Vitto will die, of something, before he can marry Fi, thus leaving his fortune to Luc and completely knocking Diana out of the loop. Just rewards and all that...
Oh, Lila, I forgot to mention I loved the Windsong commercial reference. Brought back memories. I wonder how many of us on the Patio are baby boomers, staring Medicare in the face?
Raises hand, glad to be able to still do so and to see Medicare when I stare at its face!
;D
Come on in and weigh in all my friends who do heavy analysis! I'm not being sarcastic. I MARVEL at the way y'all break these things down!
We can still ponder how the bodus interruptus will happen for both "weddings". Anything to make this interesting.
"Rey's voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard"
I too am no fan of Benito, his blackmail scheme hairbrained but the righteous indignation from limp Peter pisses me off. Hell, at least Benito is trying.
Not just Vitto but I want Petey to see Fifi and Luc smooch.
Gosh, I was afraid the note under the door was really from Assholyo and a set up for Gianna, whew.
Man o man Roxy's got it bad, Benito musta buttered both sides of the bread.
Not just Vitto but I want Petey to see Fifi and Luc smooch.
Tofie, I dream of the day when you might recap, even as a guest for such zingers as these:
Assholyo . . .Man o man Roxy's got it bad, Benito musta buttered both sides of the bread.
BAM!
Kat, I'm at your table with the glass raised to anyone in this tale who starts to take that whole family down. Heck, the old chauffeur, go for it dude? Anything the patio can do to help, just let us know. I still vote to have Seaweed Hair's dad ( how much do I love that moniker!!!!???) take over the whole place and I want so desperately to see everyone one of those people earn a living, ditch those god-awful pieces of garish jewelry and live in Adele's neighborhood, begging for cooking lessons. Vitto just needs to push daisies. Diana deserves Anibal, though my heart goes out to the little guy, so her mon can adopt him and leave town. And I wouldn't wish Luc on pretty much anyone in this tale that is available (including that horrible psychiatrist). Santino either. Let them go back to Italy and get nice local girls.
Daisynjay
And Medicare, yep again. I've got it, even though I'm still working part-time. That's always a sobering moment though when you first realize you're eligible for Medicare and Social Security. Can the Grim Reaper be far behind?
Which brings me to Vittorio. And Eloisa. Does seem like both should exit the planet right now...or at least give up manipulating and miserating (yeah, I know that's not a real word) all the young people.
But you brightened up a dreary Ohio day with your sparkling, funny recap. Thanks Ms. Lila.
My question is: How do these people dash into town and back to the ranch all day long? Light rail? They're down to one chauffeur, and Fidel doesn't appear to spend that much time in the car. Just wondering....
(even the writers wear telenovela beanie hats.)
Miserating. I likes that! Yah, let's make it a word!
;D
Grazie, Emilia Heck, maybe they're teletransporting. It IS amazing, isn't it?
Thanks Lila for this recap, and last Friday's (yep I'm late again, sigh, oh well)
You have such a way with words - "Freddie flits by to accuse Sonia of trying to arrange a little nookie session with her favorite cousin on the eve of his wedding. She giggles and goes upstairs." - tee hee I can't imagine Fed flitting
I cannot believe Eloisa went for Os as head of the co. she's going to regret that one, and sooner rather than later
The people are as silly and stupid as ever.
Tataah!!!
That was really funny to me. Ok. Im normal again. ;-)
Oh Sneaky Shoes, it seems that Assvaldo has such a manipulation power that always ends up making people dance to his rythym. He knows perfectly how to use the fears and weaknesses of everybody to his own benefit. It looks like the student beated the teacher and surprinsingly grandma ended up being puppet of her evil grandchild. It's gonna be great when she sees her company all ruined.
Whoo! Long day. I'm beat. See you on your recap tomorrow, Sneaky and see the rest of y'all in comments!
