Pasión y Poder #14 Mon 20151123 Less Talking, More Choking!
Montenegro Offices
Artie tells Augustin that he knows that he will see Julia again. He can tell by the look in her eyes that she still pines for him.
Later, Artie tells Erick that the company website is down and the guests can't make reservations. Artie takes a swig of a stiff drink after he learns that Erick has known about the problem for a while and said nothing. Erick is obviously his dumb son so, Art says that he's going to have Miguel, his smart son, look into this immediately. Erick tells Art that Miguel is a hermit-nerd. Art says that Miguel is a hermit-nerd that supports himself. Erick gets all offended and leaves.
Later during a meeting with Mike (Miguel), Artie enjoys a cup of soothing tea. Artie believes that this is the job of Eladio. Miguel says that he can't prove it. Artie asks Mike if he can fix it because he losing a lot of money and clients. He's also got a wife, two grown kids, a daughter-in-law, and his son's mistress to support. Mike says that he and his two imaginary friends will stay up all night and fix it.
Casa de Gomez Luna
Julia asks David if she can come stay with him, but he hesitates. He tells her that he might be coming back to the DF for work. After she hangs up, Eladio wants to know what Dave said. She tells him to scram, she's still pissed about finding him with that chick in his office. Eladio wants to know what he can do to make things better between them. She tells him that she wants her space. She asks that he leave the bedroom. Afterwards, she talks to herself about Artie. Why did he come back into her life and revive buried feelings.
The maid, Simona, brings an envelope to Eladio and then cowers out of the room. Later, Eladio opens up an envelope and pulls out of picture that was taken at the children's fundraising event. He and Julia are looking into the camera. In the distance, they were photobombed by the Ratt, who looks like she's standing between them. Eladio tells himself that Ratt will not ruin what he has achieved with Julia.
WTF Family
More useless and good for nutin' scenes again. Gisela wants to know why Maribel won't let her watch Lusita. Maribel says that she's heard that Gisela is a wino. Gisela denies it. Maribel falls and Gisela demands to know what Maribel was diagnosed with. Maribel says that she gets Migraines but Gisela isn't buying it. Justino comes home and Gisela tells Maribel that lies don't last or something like that. Maribel is cries about her impeding death and once again the clueless husband comforts her. She lies and tells him that Gisela is pissed because she won't let the old wino watch their kid.
Clara brings gifts from Francisco for that loud kid Lusita and gives Maribel a brick of cash for her trip to Acalpulco.
Side note: Clara told Francisco that Gisela receives a monthly check from Eladio, but last month, they stopped coming. Francisco says that Gisela should visit Accounts Payable.
Hotel
Franco and Gabby are in a hotel where he is improperly courting her under the sheets. So she stood her ground so that her uncle and aunt could be aware that Franco was boinking her. I don't get it.
The Ratt's Nest
What a surprise! Erick is visiting Montseratt for an afternoon delight session in the living room. They've managed to remove their shirts, when unfortunately, they are interrupted by Eladio who uses his key to let himself in. Eladio immediately calls her tramp and orders Erick out. Erick tries to defend her. He tells Eladio that he is simply her employer and he has no right to be there. Eladio says that he owns everything there! It finally dawns on the dumb Montenegro son that Eladio is not a chump. He is not supporting the Ratt out of the goodness of his heart. She tells Erick to leave. Erick calls her a prostitute and says that she makes him sick that she prefers Grampa Gomez over him. Eladio punches him. Eladio may be old, but at least he doesn't depend on his daddy, he says. Erick says that "well, at least I don't need Viagra to satisfy her". Yes he did! And that is why he caught a beat down all over the living room. Anyways, Eladio lifts up a bottle of wine to finish him off, but the Ratt's screeching stops him. Erick picks up his teeth, his shirt and his jacket and heads towards the door. He tells Eladio that he will pay for that Ass Whoopin'.
Once they are alone, Eladio, wants to know if Erick is the father of her ratt-bastard. She assures him that her ratt-bastard is his. She tries to make it seem like this was the first time she has ever been with Erick, but Eladio recognizes Erick as a plumber she lied about. As he removes his tie, he reminds her that he (like OJ Simpson) does not share. He says that she deserves to die. He wraps the tie around her neck and pulls. Gosh, I think He'd be more successful if he put his foot on the couch for leverage! Choke her! Choke her! Unfortunately, he wants to feel the life leave her. He drops the tie and wraps his fingers around her neck. Aldo, the nosy neighbor hears her gagging and knocks on the door. Eladio removes his hands and orders her to tell the guy that she's fine. Like a fool, she does it. The neighbor, leaves. She tells Eladio to think of the kids she's carrying. Eladio reminds her that he ordered her to abort it. Eladio tells her that he's cancelling her contract and evicting her. Goodbye forever, prostitute, he says on the way out. One he's gone, she breaks up the furniture.
Casa de Gomez-Luna
The love-birds return home to find Debbie the Downer, Julia sulking at the dining room table. Her husband did not come home for dinner. She upset that Eladio gave her the space that she requested. Women! Eladio returns home and declares his love for Julia by screaming at her. Nothing is going on between he and the Ratt! He wants to sleep in his bed with his wife! Julia says that he has not changed. She doesn't trust him anymore. Has the Ratt had and AIDS test? She doesn't want the nasty women's disease. His patience is not limitless, he says.
Later, Gabby finds Julia and asks why the horny moon is over. Julia says that Eladio is cheating on her with a super model. She's not going to go live with Dave because he's got a girlfriend. Gabby didn't know that Dave has a girlfriend. Julia hasn't met her yet, but she's seen her. He'll introduce her when they are officially courting which is code for they want everyone to know that they are sleeping together. Gabby understands. Julia tells Gabby that Art bought her some flowers and she told him to hit the bricks because he was stirring up her loins. She's not a cheater like Eladio.
Eladio goes into his home office Callao, the bodyguard is there and offers to whack the Ratt. Callao is grateful because Eladio got his daughter a kidney transplant. Eladio says that he rewards loyalty with black market body parts. Eladio takes a rain check on the murder thing and calls his lawyer. He tells them to cancel the Ratt's contracts.
Later, the Ratt is downing booze and pills. The neighbor who did not call the police when her heard her obviously being choked comes to check on her. He sees her battered face and the ligature marks on her neck. He want's to know what happened to her. She tells Aldo that she got caught. She's depressed because she's going to lose "the man she loves" and Eladio is going to ruin her. He cancelled her modelling contract and the plane ticket to Europe. Aldo brings the suicide pills to her, places them on the table in front of her and tells her to stop taking them. Moron.
Black Mountain
Regina returns home. She tells Connie (Consuelo) and Mike (Miguel) all about Danny showing up at the hotel. Mike, who is supposed to be working all night with his two imaginary friends, has returned home for a disk. Although he's in the middle of averting a crisis, Mike decides to stop by his sister's room to braid her hair and chat with her about her dating problems. Priorities...who needs them.
Daniela's abrupt appearance in Queretaro, Queretaro would have made a lesser man admit defeat, however, David is working for bragging rights. After sleeping with Daniela, I'd say that there is no way that he is going to get her equally hot sister to boink him as well. Challenge Accepted!!!!
David jumps on his motorcycle and speeds to the Montenegro Mansion where his is met outside of the home by Miguel, who has finally removed himself from the slumber party. Can David enlist the help of their older, wiser, brother in his quest for having Boinked Two Hot Sister bragging rights? Surely, no brother would never allow that to happen under his nose. Challenge Accepted!!!! Mike tells David to scram, hit the bricks, Gina does not want to speak to him ever again. Dave tells Mike all about boinking Daniella in Cancun. He then tells him that Daniella dumped him, but now she wants him back. Daniella only wants him to mess with Gina. Dave says that he loves Gina and begs Mike to help him talk to her. Mike agrees to help. Mike is the stupid brother.
Nina's in the mood for some loving, but once again, seeing Julia has contributed to Art's impotence. Art explains that guests cannot make reservations because the website is down. His server has crashedever since he saw Julia again. His hardware...it's not so hard anymore.. Miguel and his imaginary friends are fixing the problem. Nina says that she'll be patient because she loves him. She hopes that his software problems are not caused by another women.
The next morning, Miguel announces that the problem has been fixed. Artie thanks him and gives him a semi-hug, semi-pat. Miguel's leave the living room to talk about boys with Gina and Connie. Erick enters the living room. Erick return home after drowning his sorrows all night. Art sees him and wants to know whose fist he ran into. Erick says that he was fighting over his woman. Art assumes they're discussing Connie. Erick corrects him and tells him that he fought Eladio over Montseratt (No Morals) Moret. Art cannot believe that his son is crossing swords with his arch enemy. He tells Erick to drink some coffee and sober up. He orders Erick to report to work in one hour because his wife (Consuelo) lives in that house and he has to show her respect.
Miguel and Consuelo convince Daniela to listen to Dave and give him a chance to explain. Miguel is a chump.
Hotel Queretaro Queretaro
Daniela shows up at David's hotel room with champagne. After a while, she opens the bottle and chugs it down alone. A girl finds Danny passed out on the floor outside of Dave's hotel room and snaps a picture for TMZ.
Foundation Foyer
Montseratt rushes past Efrain, the bodyguard, and drops to her knees in front of Julia. The bodyguard tries to pry her hands off of Julia's legs, but Julia tells him not to touch her. The Ratt begs for Julia's help.

Thank you Cynderella! I've caught up with this one but haven't been able to read past recaps but I thank you all: Urban, AuntyAnn, NovelaMaven and Mauricio. Cynderella, this helped me pick up on some stuff I missed in the episode and is side splitting as well. I know we've met on other Patios but I haven't had the pleasure of reading many of your recaps. So after I wiped up the choked-on said coffee, enjoyed the rest. I didn't catch the end darn, so was a bit gob-smacked reading that Monse showed up at Julia's, she of the stuck off/on switch (Julia--remember the last 20 years?). If Monse was smart, she'd admit the whole thing, show Julia those marks around her neck ruining her overall tan and tell her Eladio wants to abort the baby. Now that should put a nail in the Eladio coffin for Julia and hello, move her to the "woman who does mess around" category.
Now for the love of all that is holy, why why why would a man take one look at that face of Nina's and want to mack on it. That lipstick was the stoopidest thing I've ever seen. Love how Artie looks more worn with each passing day. The clumsiness of the hug with Miguel was rather heart-breaking.
I still love Miguel. He tries. He is there for anyone who needs him. And being I'm sitting at the David table, glad he offered his help. I mean, the poor smuck didn't know Daniela was Skank-Ho 2.0. And he fell for someone who has the "Jump to the wrong conclusion" gene. Honestly, it's sort of frustrating Michelle is playing a character with the same personality flaws as in Aldonza in Sombra. Is this supposed to be a new heroine character trait? (Ohhh, but that did give me right now a nice Alex Sirvent and horsie flashback. Happy Tuesday!)
Erick is a total wuss and spoiled brat. Would love Artie to throw him down a few pegs at the company. How the heck do you trust a kid(man?) like that anymore?

Lila- The person on the phone didn't say Gina had resigned from the project. Just that she went to DF for an emergency. I wouldn't think it would be very easy for the architect on the project to resign.
Regina didn't seem that unreasonable to me. She didn't come back hone bawling ans cursing David. She just felt really hurt by what she thought was him comparing her and Dani. It didn't even occur to her until Connie said it, that David may have meant SHE came out the winner of the comparison. This is clearly the result of a lifetime of hearing that Dani was the most attractive. I'm not putting this in the same category of the drama Aldonza made in Sombra.
Laughed when David wasn't even there when Dani came to try to seduce him. Ha!
Wow, those awkward hugs Art gave Miguel were very telling. Poor Miguel. Art has been a terrible dad to him.

Lila- The person on the phone didn't say Gina had resigned from the project. Just that she went to DF for an emergency. I wouldn't think it would be very easy for the architect on the project to resign.
Regina didn't seem that unreasonable to me. She didn't come back hone bawling ans cursing David. She just felt really hurt by what she thought was him comparing her and Dani. It didn't even occur to her until Connie said it, that David may have meant SHE came out the winner of the comparison. This is clearly the result of a lifetime of hearing that Dani was the most attractive. I'm not putting this in the same category of the drama Aldonza made in Sombra.
Laughed when David wasn't even there when Dani came to try to seduce him. Ha!
Wow, those awkward hugs Art gave Miguel were very telling. Poor Miguel. Art has been a terrible dad to him.

Not sure if it is a trend for young protags like Regina but the only way Michelle R knows how to play a character and why it is Aldonza all over again. The budding romance between Regina and David deserves more. I found myself thinking Daniela the more stable choice.

Thanks, Vivi. So she's still on the project? Okay. I was getting all excited that a protagonist was going to not only have a degree and a profession but actually use it. I hope we do get to see her use some professional smarts. Re whether Regina is channeling Aldonza, I have to say that when she immediately got pissed at David I was confused. . .like "wha hoppen?" Made me wished I'd read the recaps. The fall out seemed totally unnecessary and like a missed opportunity for them both to but Daniela in her place.

I'm not totally against Artie at this point. The reaction he had to Miguel was more to me that he was stunned that his son had to be nervous about a hug and that it took so little for him to feel appreciated. And then comes in the drunken idiot he has given his time to. It was a good contrast.

Do we know for a fact that the Ratt is pregnant? I thought just the day before the lightbulb went off in her head about how to get Eprick to leave his wife and marry HER (she thinks he wants a kid). Since from all indications he's shooting blanks, if she IS pregnant, it's definitely Eladio's.

Susanlynn- We've seen Monse not get satisfaction from Eladio in her bedroom a couple of times, and at least once with Erick there. The fact that we have seen this character have sex in almost every room of her apartment, AND a storage room in a hotel, shows just how much we have seen her getting it on in EVERY episode. Maybe she should take a break (before one of her lovers kills her).
I was hoping that the writers could do a switcheroo and turn the bad guy into a good guy and the supposed good guy into a bad guy. However, choking your exhoor is pretty irredeemable stuff and trumps a sleepy dude pining after his lost love . I can tolerate about three of these folks. #whatshappenedtotelenovelas?

This was exceptionally well written Cynderella. I marvel at your ability to provide all the facts yet in such a sharp, witty way.

I'm still luke warm regarding Arturo. "Artie thanks him and gives him a semi-hug, semi-pat". It's interesting how we viewed his hug with Miguel so differently. He really hesitated when Miguel hugged him, and I guess he was surprised. I listened to what you wrote daisy and "worn" is the perfect description for Arturo. I initially thought him cold but that expression that may have culminated in a smile showed there is some affection for others deep down.
It does seem as though both Eladio and Arturo share the fact they are completely engrossed in Julia. Nothing, not business or children seem to occupy a higher place in their thoughts and minds.
I wish Connie would just get rid of Erick. In their own sick and twisted way, I think he and Montse do care for each other. They so deserve each other, I hope it works out for them so Connie can ride into the sunset with Miguel (who is quite a hottie sans glasses).

Mauricio--You must not be watching YoNo. We had a character (a female) not wanting to be a surrogate mom because who knows where that sperm has been. We have been indecisive and wishy-washy about the male character's sexual leanings (hoping for a happy, romantic relationship with someone he loves (platonic, so far), but it came out last night he tested positive.

It was embarrassing how that old man beat up Erick. No wonder he went out drinking afterwards-- It wasn't about finding out his mistress was someone else' mistress too. It was about his pride being hurt by that beatdown.
