Pasión y Poder #35, Wednesday, 12-23-2015
Hey Patio Peeps. It will be short and sweet tonight. It's Christmas Eve and I'm up to by elbows in flour.

The Rat and Aldo are in the hospital. Erick comes to visit her and they tell him that she wanted to die because she found out about Connie's pregnancy.
When David asks Art why he went to visit his mother Art tells David that he happened to be at the hospital when he found out that Julia was there and wanted to see how she was, but promised to never do something like that again. Art accepts David and Regina's relationship and he tells David that he reminds him of Julia. Art also tells David that he would take care of him as his own son if Julia asked him to. Regina comes in and is happy that her father is ok with their relationship.
Erick is upset at TheRat for going to his house to confront Connie. He tells her that Miguel is in love with Connie. When he leaves Also comes in with the hospital bill. They want Eladio to pay for it.
Nina goes to visit Art and tells him about Regina and David's relationship. Art tells her he already knows. Nina won't allow the relationship.
There's a psychologist in Julia's hospital room that gives his info to her in case she needs counseling. He leaves and Gaby comes in. Gaby wonders if her aunt will give Eladio another chance. She says no way Jose! Eladio will never change.
Nina can't believe that Art has accepted Regina and David. NIna tells Art about Miguel and Connie being lovers. Art says she better have proof.
Franco tries to get a personal loan from Eladio to buy some land to build a house for his future. Eladio tells him to focus on the present and to take care of business. Franco takes off and Eladio runs into Aldo, who asks him to pay TheRat's hospital bill.
Nina tells Art what SHE believes happened between Miguel and Connie. Art wants to go home to straighten things out. Nina wants Miguel and Connie kicked out. Art says that he will always take care of his kids, even if he and Nina were to get divorced.
Eladio and Aldo argue in the hospital hallway. Eladio tells Aldo to pay the bill. Gaby has been watching and listening to the whole conversation.
Regina and David are happily strolling down the street. He gets a call from his mother; she needs to talk to him. They say goodbye.
Eladio reminds Julia not to talk about their personal business to the psychologist, and reminds her that the accident was her fault. She is going home soon and reminds Eladio that she can't live with alot of anxiety and urges him to get along with David.
David tells him mother that Art accepted his relationship with Regina. Julis is happy.
Connie and Miguel talk with Art. Art understands Connie's past and supports her. She leaves and Art tells Miguel that it is so obvious that he is in love with Connie. Art tells Miguel that he needs to stay away from Connie.
Gaby tells Julia that Eladio is still seeing TheRat.
Nina and Dani tell Connie that if she had any dignity she would leave the house, but if she stays they will make her lofe a living hell.
After what Gaby tells Julia, about Eladio and TheRat, Julia tells Gaby that once she is recovered Eladio can go to hell. She is going to plan it well this time and she will leave Eladio once and for all.
Nina is pissed that Art didn't kick out Connie and Miguel. Art tells her that this only demonstrates that their relationship isn't working.
Eladio is meeting with the guy doing business in Tabasco with Art, I think his name is Salvador. Anyway, Eladio convinces him to use the clause in the contract he signed with The Montenegro Group, and cancel the contract with Art and go with him instead. The guy agrees to do business with Eladio and drop Art.
Franco goes to see Art. He tries to bribe Art because he knows that Art visited Julia in the hospital. He will stay quiet if Art pays up. Instead of a bribe, Franco sees it more like a business transaction.
Nina and Dani talk about taking control of the house again before Miguel and Regina do. Nina thinks that it's best for her if she gets on Regina's good side. Nina applies more purple lipstick.
Art is not intimidated by Franco. He tells Franco to go ahead and tell Eladio about his hospital visit, besides he has no proof. Franco says that he saw him go in the room and tells Art that the one that will end up paying is Julia. Art gets pissed and physically throws Franco out of his office. Franco says Art has til tomorrow morning to make a decision.
MIguel tells Regina what happened with Connie and Erick and the rest of the family. Everyone now knows that he is in love with Connie. He also tells her that Connie left the house.
Auggie tells Art that he did good not giving into Franco. Art is worried about Julia's safety.
Regina informs Nina and Dani that Connie left the house. Nina and Dani don't care. Nna blames Regina for her problems with Art. Nina demands that she break up with David. Regina tells her NO! She already spoke with her father and has his support. Nina leaves. Dani and Regina argue over David. Regina warns Dani to stay away from him.
Eladio and David argue about David helping Regina and Art with the workers for the project in Tabasco. David is glad he didn't accept the company shares from Eladio because he doesn't want to be anything like him.
Art and Nina sit down to dinner. Regina comes in to announce to Art that Connie left the house. Art tries calling Erick.
David tells Eladio that he's moving out. Eladio tells him he won't last two days out in the real world. David says he has all he needs. His career and Regina's love.
Regina and Miguel tell Art and Nina what happened with TheRat going to confront Connie. They think that might be why she left. Nina thinks that Miguel and Connie are lying.

David is leaving the house (to Queretaro)with his bags and runs into his grandfather, who wants to know what happened with Eladio. David tells him that he and his father see the world differently. David leaves. Eladio tells gramps that David is involved with Art's daughter.
Clarita and Luisita are selling food/drinks. They wake up Justino, who takes Luisita to bed. Connie shows up and asks Clarita if she can stay with her for a few days.
Eladio tells Gramps that he told David about Julia and Art's past relationship. Eladio thinks that David doesn't realize that he will end up fighting with Regina because of the family rivalry. Annnnnnnnnndddd then I don't know what happened because my recording ended. Bah humbug!

I haven't had a chance to watch the last two episodes or read the last two recaps but I wanted to pop in and wish everybody here a joyous Christmas and many blessings for the festive season. Also, many thanks to the recappers for keeping up the good work despite all their family commitments and Christmas preparations. You are all super stars! :)
Christmas Eve in Spanish-speaking countries is called "Nochebuena" and one of the traditions consists in making Christmas paper lanterns called "faroles (farolitos) navideños". Nina needs to play her game smarter too, and stop acting like a harpy to Miguel and Connie if she wants to make any headway with Arturo. At least she resolved to be nicer to Regina.

It's one thing for Nina to diss her daughter-in-law, but just plain stupid to diss Art's son Miguel. There is absolutely nothing that would make Art disown Miguel.
I'm still thinking Daniela has potential way in the future. At least she doesn't want David for herself. She just wants to be an irritant to Regina.
Loved Nina's white dress. She seems to be in the solid fabric period now. No busy prints in several days now.

I wondered last night why the little piss-ant errand boy went to see Arturo. Now I know---thanks AuntyAnn. So the little piss-ant has decided on blackmail of the big boy. Yes, piss-ant is the right name for Franco. I'm surprised that Art didn't bust his chops.

Any judge in their right mind would grant Arturo the win. No man should have to put up with that. YUCK! But then again, what would expect from a bruja?

As for a Nina-Monseratt relationship? They are too much alike to get along. You can't have two dominatrices in the same household. Nina needs to always have the upper hand over someone that she can dominate and control. Connie was just perfect for Erick, she just went a little too far with her open loathing. She just didn't realize it. Now it's too late. Remember, she thought it was perfectly ok for Erick to cheat on his little "woman." So Erick could still do whatever he wanted to do--and be a good son to her.

I like Regina but it was impolite to break in on Nina and Art's dinner and blow it up. Her mother, under duress and fearful of being traded for a different model, was attempting some quiet quality time with her husband. They didn't need Art right at that minute and betcha if Miguel had an article of clothing from Connie he could sniff, he'd find her like the good lap dog he is.
tofie--haha! I would have called Miguel the good bloodhound he is--always tracking, sniffing, stalking.
One more thing before I go out for the evening--
As Regina told Dani to stay away from her novio--or else, flouncing out of the room, a look came over Dani's face that just had Cheshire Cat writ large. Give Dani a challenge is she's up for it. She doesn't really want David, but since she has nothing else to do, it might as well be separate the two of them. Of course she already started that ball rolling, but no Goal.
We agreed, Dani needs a job.
Just for our benefit, the writers have made it too late to go back to school, she quit her counseling sessions and she's grounded (sort of) to learn housework. Artie's strategy is all wrong. Someone mentioned a way back they ought to put her in publicity at Montenegro headquarters. That's what Artie should have thought to do with her rather than housework. He surely recognizes her beauty and she does have brains to think up all kinds of mischief.

Thanks, Aunty Ann for fitting a recap into your baking schedule. I only made brownies. We bought a chocolate cake , an apple pie, and a cherry pie from a former student of mine. However, I have been cooking and freezing for a week..chili, spaghetti sauce, ham and string beans, sloppy joe . We had our Christmas dinner tonight, so we will have leftovers tomorrow.

Anita, Arturo isn't imagining her perspective on it. He would see a job like that as a reward rather than a punishment or a learning experience. She doesn't have the sense of responsibility to learn that or any kind of work yet. Not to mention that after Erick's big betrayal, a screw-up on her part would not be a good thing.
Daniela isn't mature enough to recognize that gaining Dad's favor would be easy: Just do your job well. She only knows how to please her Maxi-Me (Nina), which is to be pretty and to compete to the death against other women -- including one's own sister -- for the most alpha males.
