Pasión y Poder #33 Monday 12/21/2015

This is really out of order and unedited!  I am sick as a dog.  I'll try to fix it in the morning.

MONTENEGRO

Tabasco-

Regina asks Art to tell her the truth about her relationship with Julia; her happiness depends on it.  Art wants to know what she means by that.  Gina tells him that Nina wants her to get all the juicy details about their relationship from David.  Art is incensed!  Nina walks in wearing some sort of Nina, plunging, boobie baring, sleeveless sea foam green maxi dress.  Her unmovable-hair is adorned with a kind of chain-like contraption.  Art tells Gina to leave them alone.  Once alone with his wife, Art lights into his wife.  How dare she not trust him!  How dare she ask Gina to spy for her!  Nina says that they are been arguing for a while over the their adults and Art never tells her anything.  Art says he can't stand it anymore.  He wants the big D.  Nina begs him for another chance.  She'll do better, she'll change.  She cries.  She begs!  OMGosh!  I feel so sorry for her. I don't like her and therefor, I don't want to feel sorry for her!  Art is such a jerk!  She wants him to go to the hotel room so they can talk.  Art tells her to go back to Mexico.  They will make the final decision there.

Nina finds Gina and informs her that Art wants a divorce.  Next time think before you bust me out, Gina!

Gina calls Dave and says that she needs to talk to him.  Her parents are fighting.  Welcome to the club, says Dave.  He wants to be completely honest with Gina.  Dave tells her that Dani came to the hospital lobby and tried to get back with him molest him.

Later, Gina feels all guilty when she asks Art if he just ask for a divorce in anger.  Art can't believe that Nina told Gina and is blaming her for their problems. Art says he's dead serious, it's no joke!  He and Nina have not been getting along.  He should have told her about his past, he says.  This is his fault.  Now, he wants a divorce.  He tells Gina that his decision is not her fault.  Don't let Nina play mind tricks on her.  He's disappointed that Nina always attacks Gina and Miguel when she gets upset.

Nina calls Dani and tells her that Art asked for a divorce.  Nina says that she will stop being Mrs. Montenegro over her cold, dead, silicone-enhanced body.  Today is the worst day of Nina's life, she sobs.  She thought this would be a second honey-moon for them.  She doesn't know why Art has changed.  Her kisses are not working!  Nina says that they can't get a divorce because they are the perfect couple.  She tells Nina that she did something to help her out.  She's the one who called the paps and sent them to the hospital.  She told them that Julia's fall may not have been an accident.

Art tells Augustin that he asked Nina for a divorce.  Augustin tells him to admit that he's only divorcing her for Julia.

The next morning, Dani comes walks down the stairs while still talking to her mother on the phone. She tells Nina to cheer up!  Dani goes over to a mirror and swears revenge on Dani for lying about her relationship with David.

Erick and Gina show up in Art's office.  Erick is ready to work, but Regina interrupts them.  She's returned from the construction site and the scabs are starting on one store.  Art tells Erick to go home.   Erick doesn't understand that he's useless.

Mexico City

Casa Foyer

Petra runs in and says that a tall chick wearing a lot perfume model is here. The Ratt shoves her way past Petra and announces herself.  Connie demands to know why she's there.  Your hubby doesn't love you; he wants me.  What a bitch!  The baby will not help you keep him.  Connie reminds The Ratt that she is his wife and the Ratt is a tramp.   Connie knows that The Ratt told Erick that she was rescued from a brothel.  That Ratt does not deny it.  In fact, Connie should have seen his face when she told him.  Connie bitch slaps her and tells her to get the hell out.  Miguel corals her out of the door as Petra pulls her out of the house.

With the Ratt gone, Connie tells Miguel that she knows the Ratt was in Tabasco with Erik.

The Ratt Hole

Aldo tells the Ratt that she just lost Erick.  She should have never went to Erick's house and confronted his wife.  Also Erick will stay because his wife is preggers.  The Ratt says that Erick loves her and will definitely leave his wife.  Aldo puts an ice bag to her face and tells her to settle for Gomez Luna.

Later, the Ratt has decided to exterminate herself.  Aldo bangs on the door.  She's surrounded by pictures of herself and Erick.  The landlord lets him it.  He begs her to wake up because he needs her.  For some reason, she calls Eladio and tells him that she tried to kill herself because of the "fake baby" and that she needs him.  Eladio calls Aldo a loser for calling him on his phone.  He's upset because the Ratt and Julia are in the same hospital.

GOMEZ LUNA

Hospital

Intensive Care

David is acting strange.  He tells Julia that he's going to get some coffee.  Gaby tells Julia that Dave may be upset because of the shares and having to tell his father about Gina.  Julia tells Gaby it's best that he end that relationship.

Lobby

Daniela calls David's name.  I miss you a lot.  She moves in for a smoochie poo and tells him that she loves him.  Your sister is a incredible and intelligent woman and you...well, you are not.  Daniela thinks Dave is only saying that she doesn't want her for revenge.  He assures her that he really likes her sister.  She doesn't believe him.  She wants to know if he's dating anyone.  He says that he has nothing against her.  He tells her to lose his number.  She sits down and takes out a photo of Gina kissing David.

Dave returns to his mother's hospital room.  She tells him that she wants him to take the shares so that they can't get away from Art.  Dave says that he doesn't want to take them because he would have to tell why he agrees or disagrees with Eladio's decisions in front of a board.  When Julia goes off for a CT scan, Dave tells Gaby that he needs to tell his father about Gina before he can take the shares.

Casa de Gomez Luna

Eladio is alone in Julia's bedroom obsessing over his love for her.  He can't believe that offering "her son" the shares didn't make her see the goodness in him.  He blames all of his problems on Art.

The next morning, Aldo calls Eladio and tells him that the Ratt is lonely and tried to off herself.  Just as he hangs up, Callao introduces Dani to Eladio.  Dani tells Eladio that her dad doesn't know she's there.  She's come to expose the relationship between Dave and Gina.  She shows him the picture.  Eladio slams the picture down.  Humberto rolls up and says...Franco walks up and says that Art won this round by hiring scabs.  The work will begin again.  Humberto stretches his neck.

As Eladio is headed towards the door, he is stopped by Dani.  Dani tells him that David is dating her sister.  Eladio wants to know why she came to tell him that.  She says that she doesn't want this to cause more trouble between the families.  Eladio puts the photo in his pocket.  He tells her that she was his daughter, she would not let her out of the house dressed like that.  Franco walks up and tells Eladio that Art got some scabs to build.  Eladio tells Franco to ask the union leader to stop the shipments.  Art cannot succeed.

Art learns from Macia, a hospital worker, that Julia is awake and out of ICU.  He calls Julia's room, but hangs up when David answers.  Dave tells Gaby that there was a heavy breather on the phone.  Gaby looks guilty.

At the hospital, Aldo sits at the Ratt's bedside.  When she wakes up, she thanks him for saving her.  She took too many pills and drank way too much.  She's happy because this will make Erick come to her.  Aldo reminds her that Erick is in Tabasco.  He tells her that he's called Eladio.  That Ratt admits that she's lost Erick because Connie's knocked up.

Gina calls Dave and tells him that the workers have arrived.  Dave tells her that he's going to talk to his dad and she needs to talk to hers about their relationship.

CASA de GISELA Y CLARA

Justino stops by to say that he will allow Clara to babysit Lucita rather than leaving her in the house to fend for herself.  He tells Clara that he's still pissed that she didn't tell him that his wife was dying.  Clara gives him a doll for Lucita.  Francico bought it.  Justino thinks that Francisco's great.

The next morning, Lucita stops by. She's learned that Clara is going to school too.  She wants to study together.

Art tells Santiago that the scabs are working on one building.  Santiago says that per the contract, they should be working on three stores at a time.  Art acknowledges the contract.  Art believes that the union leader will negotiate now that they know they he will use scabs.  He goes on to say that he has to return to Mexico tonight.  That is also part of his strategy.  The union leaders will believe that he is no longer willing to negotiate if he leaves.  Man-Bitch!  He's such a liar.  He's going back to see Julia!  He's going to risk Santiago's business and rep so that he can get to Julia.

Nina and Erick return home.  Dani greets them.  Dani tells Nina that she stopped by to talk with Eladio Gomez Luna.  She found out the Gina is dating David.

Eladio shows up at the hospital and shows Dave the picture.  He wants to discuss his relationship with Dani.

Cyn- Oh, no! Sick for the holidays. I hope you're feeling better soon. Thanks for recapping, despite illness. You got most of the order right. Just a scene or two out of place, and some shes instead of hes, but we can figure it out.

I felt bad for Nina too when Art asked her for a divorce. He totally blind sided her. I think saying he's in love with Julia would not be a good thing. But there are other versions of the truth he should tell her-- that he selfishly married her when he wasn't in love with her because he was depressed and looking for a mother for his son; that although she has been a good and affectionate companion (though, not a good mother), and he cares for and loves her, he never fell in love with her; and she deserves the chance to be with someone who really loves and cherishes her.

Sure, it won't be easy to hear, but at least it gives her something to work with, instead of feeling like this all came up out of the blue.

Loved Eladio telling Dani he wouldn't let her out of the house like that if she were his daughter. That little black outfit, with the slit up the already short skirt, was too much for daytime. Save that for the club- not for going to see you dad's enemy to betray your sister.

Love that David turned her down flat, and that he told Regina right away. Now the caca will hit the fan with all the parents about their relationship. Wonder if Eladio will tell David he's dating his sister?

Cynderella, I'm so sorry that you are sick! Thank you so very much for giving us this wonderful recap - spicy, tangy and tasty. You never fail to make me smile. So much excellent detail.

I particularly enjoyed that you echoed all of my feelings regarding Arturo and Nina's cringeworthy scenes: "OMGosh! I feel so sorry for her. I don't like her and therefor, I don't want to feel sorry for her!". Yes, so true! "Art is such a jerk!" - ditto. I was appalled he put the business at risk to run back to the married, no chance they will be together while Eladio is still alive Julia. Sigh.

Like her or not, seeing that single tear drop delicately in her cheek was hard to watch. She was gobsmacked. No doubt about it. As you noted Vivi, leaving the entire Julia issue aside, she had no idea he married her, not loving her. She is barely getting used to his not returning her kisses. Hearing the word "divorce" was completely out of left field.

I'm glad she slightly recovered to utter "Nina says that she will stop being Mrs. Montenegro over her cold, dead, silicone-enhanced body".

I just can't warm up to Arturo. His motives are selfish and self serving. Julia definitely deserves better and Nina, well I rather think she does as well!

I did detest how Nina treats Regina though.

And little Dani certainly doesn't lack gaul, does she?

While I feel a bit sorry for Nina, it does not extend to Montse. What a vile, low life. I do not believe that a man should ever strike a woman, but I have to say if Miguel had given her a good shaking, I would not have blamed him.

Cynderella, please feel better soon! Again, thank you so much for doing this despite being so sick.

Diana

Thank you Cynderella for showing up even when sick. And at the holidays no less.

How dare Art huff and puff and blame it all on Nina. I can't stand to look at the guy. Art isn't flawed he's a horrible human being. His obsession to reclaim property he lost because of his betrayal will harm so many and he doesn't care. Cesspool scum.

I feel bad for Regina. She bailed her dad out and he'll just get the company right back in deep dodo and look for her to do it again and again and again.

Cynderella, so sorry that you are sick. I had a terrible sinus infection last week, but, thankfully , the meds knocked it out of me verra quickly. My daughter arrived a few days ago from Canada with a bad cold . T'is the season. Feel better soon. Sending you healing vibrations )))))))))))

OT..Starz is running an Outlander marathon on Dec 26 from 11.30 Am to 8 pm if you want to check out Season one. It's verra, verra good. Kind of a sexy\romantic Scottish telenovela with a wonderfully heroic 18th century galan.

You managed to churn out a great recap with several hilarious asides while being sick! You are a trooper!
Sorry you're feeling unwell, Cynderella. I hope you get better soon and have a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones :)

Chalk me down with those who felt sorry for Nina in this episode. Heck, I even felt sorry for sniggering at Eladio during "his woe is me, why won't she love me, she's the only one who can destroy me with a look" soliloquy to an invisible Julia! I guess I'm too much of a softie...

The only two people I really can't stand are Arturo and RatHo. I don't condone violence but I rewinded the slap a couple of times and I kinda wish someone on this TN slaps Arturo senseless on my behalf. The guy is so self-absorbed, so haughty, so obtuse, so irritating, so... En fin! I'd better spare you another "I hate Arturo" speech!

The stellar moment for me in this episode was Eladio and Dani's meeting. I loved how dismissive he was of her at first, telling her to run along 'cause a little girl like her has nothing new to tell him. Then when she rats out her sister and David, he keeps a perfect poker face and quizzes her on what she will gain by being such a tattle-tale. However, the cherry on a great scene was when he took off his sunglasses, looked her up and down disapprovingly and said: "Si yo fuera tu padre, te cuidaría; de ninguna forma te permitiría que anduvieras así por la calle! Adiós!" ("If I were your father, I would take care of you; there is no way I would allow you to walk the streets looking like this! Goodbye!"). I laughed out loud and cheered when he said this! So many digs at her family in one sentence; I counted at least 4!

I also relished seeing Chimp Boy trying to be on his best behavior now that he feels threatened by Regina! If you look up "inútil" in the dictionary, you'll find a picture of him pulling one of his clueless primate faces! This TN would not be as entertaining without him though!

Gracias, Cynderella. And I sympathize because I also have a bad cold. This is a seriously bad time of year for it, too.

Loved these lines:
Nina says that she will stop being Mrs. Montenegro over her cold, dead, silicone-enhanced body.  Today is the worst day of Nina's life, she sobs.  She thought this would be a second honey-moon for them.

Erick doesn't understand that he's useless.

Later, the Ratt has decided to exterminate herself.

He's [Eladio] upset because the Ratt and Julia are in the same hospital.

Nina is seriously out to lunch thinking that she could pull off a second honeymoon on top of all their problems and the business issues as well. She has not learned that sexual skill and beauty can't solve everything that's wrong in a marriage and to distract a husband in the middle of a serious business issue will cost them in the long term.

And she has the nerve to blame Regina for this, which is SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for a narcissist.

As to whether Erick will get that he is useless from this experience is still up for debate. It may be too early from a storytelling perspective for him to realize this but if he doesn't he's worse than an idiot.

Love the idea of the Rat exterminating herself. She is an utter fool for putting any hopes on that relationship. Her being in the same hospital as Julia will guarantee that the wrong people will run into each other at the wrong times.

More in a bit.

-- A quote from the capítulo --

“Señora, la busca una señorita rete perfumada y bien estirada!”
(Petra announces RatHo’s arrival to the mansion where seconds later the slutty anthropomorphic rodent would receive a slap-tastic welcome: “Madam, there is a very fragrant and hella snooty young lady looking for you!”.)

°° Rete = an intensifying prefix that is mostly used in Mexico in informal and (rural and working-class?) settings to mean “very”, “extremely”, “über”, etc. Other variants are “re”, “requete” and “retebien”. For example, to emphasize just how very pretty someone is, “bonita” becomes --> “re bonita”, “rete bonita”, “requete bonita” or “retebien bonita”.

°° Perfumada = fragrant, perfumed. (This reminded me of the villain in STuD who used to call Colunga’s character “perfumado” with great disdain... And now I’m daydreaming about José Miguel Montesinos building fences, healing snakebites, riding horses and eating apples... Now THAT was a galán I can get behind! OK, back to vocab!)

°° Estirada = Literally means stretched but in this context it means snooty, uptight, stuck-up.

Cynderella,

I'm so sorry that you are sick. I hope that you are feeling better very soon and that you have a wonderful Christmas. This recap is marvelously and wickedly hilarious. I cracked up with this:

"Your sister is a incredible and intelligent woman and you...well, you are not."

Now if Arturo has the courage to say the same to Nina:

"Julia is a incredible and intelligent woman and you...well, you are not."

It'd be a lot less cruel than the sneaky sleazy way he is currently treating her.

Carlos

Cynderella- Sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. Hope that you feel well soon. Thank you so much for recapping despite not feeling well. You did a wonderful job like always and it was a joy to read from start to finish.

So Artie has finally said the "D" word. And I have to admit that I too felt bad for Nina at that moment. Artie should be honest with her and tell her the truth instead of using the same old excuses over and over.

Great scene between Eladio and Daniela. And loved when Eladio called her out on how she dresses and how he wouldn't let her go out of the house dressed like that if she were his.

Tonight should be good- David has some explaining to do and so will Regina.

The Ratt trying to exterminate herself took me by surprise. For a moment there I thought that she really was a goner.

Nandicta- I can't muster up any sympathy for Eladio. And when during his soliloquy he said "your son", I just about threw something at the tv. I seriously get why Julia becomes near hysterical every time he says that, but then refuses to believe the truth or take the damn DNA test. OMG! She doesn't care that you gave the kid some shares. She wants you to accept and LOVE him because he is YOUR kid!

OT, but important: According to TV Guide's website, Univision's prime time lineup is pre-empted for holiday programming both on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. So all Thursday authors get the night off on both dates.

Urban- Thanks for the info on the programming.
Hope that you feel well soon also.

Getting back to Eladio: He doesn't get that money doesn't solve everything. It's the same mistake made by most nouveau riche. It couldn't buy a better doctor for Julia (not that there was one) and it can't buy her love (although the 20% share is awarded to David).

I personally think that David should have taken the shares. The next time Eladio abuses Julia David should sell those shares to Arturo. He can then use the money to start his own company while taking care of Julia. Arturo can then either use his shares to annoy Eladio or sell them to someone Eladio wronged in the past. But that could drag both David and Arturo down to Eladio's level, which might not be a good thing.

As to Daniela approaching Eladio, that was seriously stupid. She's still a mean little sorority girl playing stupid little-girl tricks on her sister and sucking it up to her Maxi-Me (Nina). She isn't ready for this kind of big-league stuff. And the way Eladio was looking at her says he may have some nasty plan for her in the future. While I love that he said he wouldn't let her go out dressed that way if she were his daughter, I'm sure that will lead to some plan to seduce her in future. Maybe even to knock her up so his spawn cab claim a share of the Montenegro fortune.

Sorry to read that you are sick. Anytime isn't fun being sick but right before Christmas is sooooo not good. Maybe in a couple of days you will be feeling much better--I hope so. Great recap though.

I can't stand Bruja Nina but that one tear got to me last night. However I'm sure that she won't have my sympathy for very long.

Did you guys notice that when Daniela moved in close on David, he politely pushed her back but the second time that she moved in on him he didn't push back. One of these times in the future when he doesn't push back Regina will walk in and get the wrong idea. And when the fight/argument starts, Dani will slink away with a smile on her face, proud of herself for what she started.

All the talk about short skirts and dresses lately. Gaby had to pull her skirt back down after she got up which goes to prove that it was waaaay to short. Watch the very end of last nights show. When Daniela got up to meet Nina, Dani also pulled her dress down. Too short???

What bombardment will Eladio release onto David about the picture?

must see tv
the gringo

Gringo- A tight, low cut tank top, with a micro mini skirt with a high slit up the side, and stilettos...appropriate for an after hours night club, and Dani looked great in it. However, NOT appropriate for a early morning meeting with a middle-aged businessman, who happens to be your father's worst enemy.

-- Vivi: I know Eladio sounds like a broken record, it's maddening; but yesterday I found him comical in that scene, especially when he started stroking the sheet and professing his love for Julia to the pillows! I laughed and thought "you poor delusional petty man". And yes, I felt sorry for him and I felt a little guilty for laughing at him because mental illness is not funny. He should check himself into Bellevue, the poor sod.

-- UA: Shame about your cold. Hope you feel better soon! :)
Believe me, ostentatious spending and throwing money at problems is not a trait exclusive to the nouveaux riches. I worked for 2 "old money" families, one even boasted nobility in their family, and they were unbelievably vulgar in their brash display of wealth! It's all down to education I think. Some people have manners, others would not know what that is even if it hit them in the face!

UA,

"The next time Eladio abuses Julia David should sell those shares to Arturo.

Surely had David accepted those shares, Eladio would have structured the transfer with a guarantee of the right of first refusal if David ever wished to sell them.

Also, I have to disagree with your blanket statement about the nouveau riche.

And this speculation about Eladio:

"...I'm sure that will lead to some plan to seduce her in future."

it is similar to your previous musing about Nina seducing David.

While neither are ideal citizens, these predictions simply have no basis in fact and are just not fair.

Carlos

Oh, dear, Cyn--Being sick didn't keep you from delivering an all-encompassing, requetebien recap.

Rest, drink lots of fluids (the kind Carlos fixes), stay warm (even if it's unnaturally warm outside today) and think pleasant thoughts (I know, that's hard to do with our majorly-flawed characters; even David and Regina aren't working from a full deck). Feel better soon.

I agree with those of you assessing Artie's bomb dropping moment. He never used the word Divorce before, but he *had* used the work Separate. Still, a hot, crummy, messed up office, at night was not the best setting to have this conversation with Nina. Her tear didn't get to me, but her more restrained lip-paint did. She truly did look stunned. Yep, as long as Artie was Randy and his libido could be turned up with just a kiss, there were no problems in the marriage. It is *not* Nina's fault that Artie's mind has been wandering and little Artie doesn't respond to Nina's amorous advances. Still, I don't feel sorry for her for a whole lot of other reasons, the latest being, she's not going to be dethroned from the position as Mrs. Montenegro.

Did anyone else get the feeling that Nina and Dani's roles were reversed last night? Nina, the child, an emotional basketcase over being wronged by her *boyfriend* and Dani, the mother, soothing her, comforting her and telling her it's all about revenge.

Anita- I find it creepy how Nina keeps talking about her sex life with her kids, so I wasn't surprised to see how she and Dani did a bit of a role switch this episode. But it really showed how discombobulated she was by Art dropping the "D" bomb on her, that she really needed Dani to help settle her and tell her everything is going to be alright.

Nandicta---So self absorbed, so haughty. I thought that you were talking about bruja Nina. Those words describe her perfectly.

A normal shade of lipstick for the bruja last night. I was shocked--she did look great without that dark plumb, near black color. I noticed that hairpiece thing (don't know what to call it) and absolutely loved it. Nina had a great look last night. Too bad she had to get dressed up and looking good to hear the D word.

the gringo

The more we encounter narcissistic parents like Nina and Eladio the more I will end up encouraging all of you to read books on the subject. Nina in particular is a textbook case.

As to the lack of boundaries she has about her sex life, this is SOP again. They overshare -- especially with same-sex teen and adult children -- because they refuse to see them as separate people. This is what makes Nina reject Regina and put the blame on her for her own shortcomings because she defies her by being different.

The lipstick Nina wore in that scene is a calculated choice. It makes her look more like the lost princess she presented herself to Arturo as once upon a time. Except that after years of her shallowness this is no longer working. Someone else has correctly noted that the purple lipstick is worn when she goes on the warpath, so this more natural color is calculated to make her look more appealing to Arturo, especially if it worked in the past. Not to mention it's a better choice for that dress, which is a color that not many women can wear successfully.

Just to let you all know that since I'm not well either, tonight's may be up a little late.

-- Gringo: You're absolutely right! As I said before, Arturo and Nina are a perfect match, except that one of them is emotionally cheating on the other and blaming them for the collapse of the marriage.

I also agree on the shade of lipstick; Nina's makeup was a lot better and almost approaching "normality" yesterday. I still maintain that Marlene Favela, the actress that plays Nina, is so stunningly beautiful that she is able to pull off every ugly shade of lipstick or fashion monstrosity the makeup and wardrobe people throw at her!

UA,

Has it occurred to you that Arturo also has qualities that might lead you to classify him as a narcissistic personality? I certainly notice some suspicious tendencies.

Carlos

Nandicta, I think that this actress's coloring allows for almost any shade of lipstick or eye shadow and may also allow for more changes in hair color (It's been paler in the past). She's at the right weight to pull off a number of different hair styles as well. But she is no longer young enough for the "lost princess" look.

Is this her first time playing the mother of adult children? I'm still shaking my head that her son is played by an actor of the same age. Who fell asleep in the casting department that day (unless they were specifically looking for someone who looked like he had the lowest IQ in the whole family)?

This is both Jorge Salinas' and Fernando Colunga's first times playing fathers of adult children (although JS had teen kids in MCET), so this is new territory for them.

Carlos, it is Eladio who is the narcissistic father in this tale. He expects David to be like him if he is his son. That he is not gives him an excuse to believe he isn't. Arturo doesn't expect this of his children. Miguel and Regina's independence has never been an issue for him. However, now that Erick (that name is so wrong it's not funny) has screwed up again and Regina can solve the problem he will want her to work at the family company. That can be a good working relationship because she has his work ethic while Erick does not.

BTW, I know that irresponsible spending among the idle rich is nothing new. There are many tales of this among third-generation money from historical captains of industry. I totally agree that most of them likely grew up without values.

Wow Cynderella, what a trooper you are! Turning out a recap that's complete and funny as usual, while being "sick as a dog". Yes, Christmas comes at the wrong time of year. I'm usually sick every Christmas at a time when I have three times as much to do. Mother Nature is not kind.

" Nina begs him for another chance. She'll do better, she'll change. She cries. She begs! OMGosh! I feel so sorry for her. I don't like her and therefor, I don't want to feel sorry for her! Art is such a jerk! "

My sentiments exactly. As Carlos says, Nina hasn't killed anybody so we can't classify her as a Total Baddie. And hell, even Baddies have feelings. For your long-time spouse, and formerly enthusiastic bed partner, to drop the D Bomb on you out of the blue is seriously rotten.

And being the "trop bonne poire" that I am, I also felt sorry for Eladio during his lonely pillow talk. Crazy obsessive arrogant people also have feelings. And it hurts to be rejected and unloved by somebody you care for. So yeah, I felt sorry for the poor guy. Just shoot me now.

The scene between Eladio and Daniela was great. With him as her father, she would not be running wild, that's for sure. See...the guy has his good points after all.

Cynderella, I join with my pal Susanlynn sending you healing vibes)))))))) and also recommending that you get yourself some Ceftin if this hangs on longer than 10 days. I had a "cold" for 6 weeks until finally scored some antibiotics. I know they're often overused, but boy, when you need 'em, they're great.

Thanks Intrepid Lady. And feel better soon!

Thanks for your recap Cynderella in spite of your illness. I hope you get better soon. And thanks for your recap last week as well.

Cynderella, what a terrific and funny recap you managed to crank out even though you were feeling sick as a dog! Thanks so much. I hope you're feeling better very soon.

I especially liked your observation about feeling sympathy for Nina against your will. Nina has that effect, I think, and it's proof of the skill of the actress playing her.

BTW, didn't the Ratt look pretty in her hospital bed with her face carefully made-up to look as if she had no make-up on?

"BTW, didn't the Ratt look pretty in her hospital bed with her face carefully made-up to look as if she had no make-up on?"

Hahahaha! Yes, she did. And of course she ends up at TOHIMC (The Only Hospital In Mexico City).
