Yo No Creo En Los Hombres #100, Wed 12/2/15: In Which Someone Finally Says the Name of the Telenovela
Julian’s Last Wishes
Labels: no-creo
Are the clothes for the inmates donated?
I'm surprised Josefa hasn't pounced on Honoria to repeat her own bitter spiral down, thus earning her a new partner in misery.
Big applause to Fermin for not only staying strong, but also pulling Jenny back!!! Interesting point he made too about her replacing alcohol with Julian.
YAY!!! GERRY DOESN'T HAVE HIV!!!! Thank you, show!!!
Big applause to Alma for staying calm and poised and together. Total class act.
Pobre de Max! That poor man has had so much fall on his plate! But he's showing that he truly is his mother's son :)
OMG - After all of this, will MD lose the baby?!!!
"WHAM! Right across his fish mouth"
What am I gonna watch when this show ends? Each actor when called upon delivers, every scene I feel in my gut. Fermin and his anguish and my suspense as he knocked on Jenny's door. Juan Carlos Colombo didn't have to bring it all for a short scene like that but he did.
As MD and Dan lay face to face in the prison yard it was the first time I felt the bond between the two has been broken.
That Scuzzy Santibanez was able to get in was criminal. He deserves to be beaten within an inch of his life for what he's done, followed by being worked over by a group of mad scientists.
Big cheer for Alma for how she handled Hosefa although I think it's still too many episodes till the end for her words to sink in.
Fermin continues to surprise me.
I'm wondering whether Ivana actually knows or whether she is calling Maleny's bluff. Works for me either way. However, she needs to forget about MD's baby, if it survives.
Hellashelle, you said everything I was going to say, sheesh.
Will MD lose the baby? I loved how all the women joined in in the beating of Dan.
Those avances are intriguing. Can't wait.
Alma was the headliner this episode, so I wanted to highlight her dialogue. The writers have really allowed each actor/character their moment in the spotlight, and given them some real meat to work with. I loved Alma taking away Josefa’s power over her, by simply not playing into her misery/anger/vengeance game. I’m sure her feelings for Claudio and Isela are all kinds of complicated right now, but she’s choosing to prioritize in her last days/weeks/months of life. Despite what Isela has done, she loves her unconditionally as a true mother does. She’s not going to have her back in her house, but she wants to make sure she’s safe and protected. But the responsibility of making sure that happens is in Clod’s hands. Let’s see how he handles it all.
I am SO glad Gerry is HIV free!!! Oh, but it just exposes that Ivana was never really planning on having a baby with him. Will she continue to play along? Will Gerry see through her and see the crazy mania for MD’s baby still in her eyes? Until I see her make a statement to the police, I still don’t trust that she’s really going to help MD get out of jail and testify against the Santibañez.
If MD’s baby survives her abuses in prison (after all the other abuses), it’s a Teflon baby. That little one is a fighter!
However, a miscarriage could also serve the plot by making Ivana head straight to the police station to rat out Scuzzy.
Could a Mexican inmate file stalking charges against her rapist if this happened in real life? She's pre-trial, so does that make any difference?
I wonder if a false positive to an HIV test can happen from a flu shot. If so we're actually getting some medical verisimilitude here. Glad for Gerry because he doesn't deserve to get AIDS.
We are now 23 episode hours from the end. I think I will wait another week to post the Karmageddon discussion. The unpredictable but mostly logical actions of the characters make it too soon to do otherwise.
"Antibodies produced in response to simple infections like a cold or the flu can cause a positive reaction on an HIV antibody test. A flu shot and other immunizations can also create positive HIV ELISA and Western Blot results. Having or having had herpes or hepatitis may produce a positive test, as can vaccination for hepatitis B. Exposure to microbes such as those that cause tuberculosis and malaria commonly cause false positive results, as do the presence of tapeworms and other parasites. Conditions such as alcoholism or liver disease and blood that is altered through drug use may elicit the production of antibodies that react on HIV antibody tests. Pregnancy and prior pregnancy can also cause a positive response. The antibodies produced to act against infection with mycobacterium and yeast, infections which are found in 90% of AIDS patients, cause false positive HIV test results."
Are there any preemptions before the weekend of any of the programs?
I believe there will be no show Friday, because of the Telethon.
I hope MD doesn't lose her baby. Corina was pretty much the MVP in those last couple minutes even if she probably only did that for herself, not for MD.
Nice to see Alma keep her dignity. She's not a cold hearted person. Even though Isela doesn't deserve it, Alma still seems to still care about her even just a tiny, microscopic amount.
I know what happens tonight but my lips are sealed. I need to still see how it all goes down.
And my favorite part was when corina grabed
Danny and started kickin the crap out of him
And then the others joined in the fun, yaaaay!
Now watch, that little trooper MD is carrying
Is going to survive that thwack to the tummy.
That baby didn't get that strength from his
Cowardly sperm donor......... I gag to say this,
*Father*. At this point a dog would be a better parent than him.
O max, what a wonderful man he is. I love his
Heart. The way he and espy are together, that
Is the way in-laws are suppose to be. I hate
That his mom Is dying . Aaaww yall they killin off The wrong people!! :-(
Iam not likin ivana right now, she fixin to do some Stinky stuff. she could rid herself of a big problem if she would just go ahead and have a baby with Jerry, or adopt. I seriously do not believe that she wants that baby just because the baby belong to her ex jerk unless she wants some really good genes and that child she's thinking maybe Maria Dolores can supply that but still that's no reason to take the woman's baby. Gerry's is a pertty decent guy and she's not bad when she stop thinking crazy. And there's a pretty good gene pool right there. they could have a very sweet little baby together but noooo she wants to steal Maria Dolores is baby.
Maleny is just pitiful. I hope she gets her answers, cause Im just tired of watchin her.
Shes a sad young woman, thats partly her
Moms fault. And they're father wasn't a very strongh man. Wow, what a mess.
Honoria, not likin her at all. Understand she hurtin something awful. But she projectin her
Guilt all on Md. Not good, not good. And that
Wont change anytime soon so here comes
The hatred.
thanks again Vivi! :-)
Loved the beatdown of Dan.
Alma is a lifelong good mother, so I can see her feelings for Isela not dying overnight because of this betrayal.
Nina- So glad you liked the recap. I too loved seeing Dan being kicked around by the female inmates. I only wish it had gone on longer before the guards decided to break it up. Guess the are more concerned about a visitor causing trouble because they were attacked by inmates, than by seeing an inmate being attacked by a visitor.
That scene reminded me of another Dan's (Danilo) fate at the hands of the women he hurt in my last favorite dark telenovela, La Malquerida. THAT was poetic justice!
Alma was definitely a class act last night--and it was all her and not an act. Beautiful speech, from beginning to end.
MD complained about smelling bad, but didn't her hair look lovely? All freshly washed, set, shiny and brushed? I'm being cynical since the director didn't want to be realistic.
I was furious when I saw Dan-Dan show up after visiting hours were over. I hadn't considered he'd had to bribe someone. What did he really expect, that MD would welcome him with open arms and a loving kiss? I guess prison rules are the same as families--we can fight among each other, but when an outsider tries to hurt one of us, it's all of us against them (him). I didn't get to see enough of Dan-Dan getting the beat down he deserved because of all the women around him, to satisfy me. Ah well, he'll probably get dragged out by one of the guards and suffered only bruises, dang.
It would really simplify things for a happy (with certain reservations) ending if MD does lose the baby, but then the ending would come too soon. So, if the baby survives, it can only be because it is Max's, for my peace of mind.
What abuela said is true, at least for some victims. The unmarried cleaning lady my family had, had shared with me that her only child, a daughter, at that time about 12, was a product of a horrible rape. She saw her rapist's face in her daughter every day and was forced to remember the violation constantly. Of course, she was not in a financial position to get professional help, but at least she had a loving mother and family members around her to help her continue to live her life and take care of her daughter.
Can't have our protag looking too bedraggled. :) And Adriana L./MD does have great hair.
I felt sorry for Max as he broke down and tried to hide it especially since I knew Dan was inside terrorizing MD. I tasted bile when Dan kissed her on the lips.
I'm with you Vivi, until Ivana makes her statement to the police, I won't trust that she's still not after the baby. What's taking her so long?
Alma sure is a classy lady. Too bad she is dying.
I feel sure Jenny will come around and get back to her old self. I hop she and Adrian get something working together...romantically, I mean.
Ann-NYC
Kudos also to the makeup department for her look now that she is gravely ill.
Thanks for giving us a great recap of a very emotional episode. Much appreciated by me and I'm sure by others also.
I'm just catching up, letting these emotional episodes pile up before watching. I wanted to call out to Urban that I've been dying to watch 'Yo Compro Esa Mujer', but haven't been able to find it anywhere. Guess it's not easy to find many novelas produced before the 2000s
