I'm already starting to miss our novela, and it hasn't even ended yet.

I'll try to put up a Friday recap.

I know :( It's the resolution I'm looking forward to, but not the end so much.

I can take Thursday.
 

We've still got 8ish weeks? Right? Still, I'm also really beginning to wonder how everything will play out.

I'm about to post some takeaway thoughts from today (I did not pay much attention at all...especially when it got technical with the ductos and such.)


 

#137 Monday- A Quickie

Simon y Edwina
This show is a tease. Edwina had gotten feverish from her bee sting and took off her blouse. Then they fell asleep in each others arms. The next morning Edwina thanked Simon with a hug (for taking care of her.) He admitted having feelings for her and they were *thisclose* to a kiss...when Fidel the Smartest Cop in Telenovelaland busts in. Drat his ability to investigate. He's a smart cop, but a stoopid and over protective big brother. To calm him down, Edwina tells Fidel that Simon is the LAST guy on earth she would do anything with. He's so not her type. She's more into the tall athletic type. Simon is too focused on the rocket.

Yes. She said all of this IN FRONT OF Simon.

He later tells her they should keep their relationship professional. Upon reflection, Edwina realizes what she did wrong.

Unfortunately, Fidel and Quintin have a conversation about what kind of person Fidel thinks his sister should be with (like it's his business.) Quintin thinks maybe he could be a candidate.

Pedro and Cheo
Cheo is still selling sprinkler systems. He went to see Don Nabor. He's flashing around a pamphlet for Haifa....do I really see the Hebrew, or is it power of suggestion?

So I was really distracted by that pamphlet. Sooo...I'm not real sure if anything important here.

Marina
*sigh* She is still hurting. The guys planned a great little party with balloons and everything, but Sara and Marina arrive together and Sara thinks it's a party for her! Marina gets even more and more upset. She tells Sebas she's resigning. Sebas is really not paying attention so he does't even read the paper Marina later asks him to sign. It turns out to be her resignation. He signs it with no comment. So Marina is now even more convinced they don't need or want her around.

Sebas
Rafa is still trying to convince Sebas to pretend be gay to get out of the marriage with Titina.

Moving on...

David
He's arrived in San Gaspar. Rafa asks some questions about the sensores. I think Rafa's radar is up. erm. Did I mention I didn't pay close attention?

David and Sara look like they are going to make a good team. They get along and he seems to respect her opinions.

There's a scene where Sara goes to Sebas to ask for a map of where the ductos are located. She was trying to help David, but he didn't get a chance to tell her that the ducto locatio maps are confidential. Sebas ends up telling her. "Hunh" she responds "I saw something like that at Pedro's house."

Then there was more conversation about ductos I didn't pay attention to.

Ric and the Isa the Heinous Ho
Isa calls Ric about the audit. Ric tells Isa that the amount of money that was taken from the account was negligible and can hardly be considered fraud. However, if there were a few more zeros....but he gets interrupted mid sentence. We all know where this is headed.

Hmmm....what else happened? This is all that stuck with me...

OH! Marina turned in her application somewhere, but I got distracted during that scene so I can't remember what happened with that.

So many characters hurting others without really intending to, but through stupidity. The guys hurting poor Marina. Edwina hurting poor Simon-- and that was a REALLY promising hug too!

You weren't imagining it. The irrigation system is Israeli. The thing I don't get is Pedro and his mob buddy deciding to keep it a secret that Pedro is behind the irrigation systems. But doesn't Sara already know that Cheo is working for Pedro? Wouldn't it be easy for her to mention it to Bruno and Simon and for them to tell the other farmers?

Getting tired of the guys keeping this secret from Sara, when she could actually be helpful since she has easy access to Pedro's house. Not that I'd really want her to be put in danger, but it seems silly to keep her in the dark when she is so wrapped up with Pedro, and getting more so every day!

The other thing that happened was Ric acting like he knows nuthin bout calculating gas losses from the ducts, and that ONLY David knows how, as part of his plan to pin the blame on David for being the traitor. It's working, because the Conatrol guys have begun to suspect him more.
 

Ah yes! I do vaguely recall that now. What I would give for a smidgen of your memory, Vivi.

Oh I wish this show wouldn't end but 8 weeks isn't bad, gives me plenty of time to forget the end is coming.

I agree with Diva resolutions yes, end no. But I know we can't have one w/o the other.

On the one hand I agree w/Vivi that the guys should bring ProtaSara in on what's going on w/Pedro, but on the other hand, I remember when Cheo was hired to kill Antonio and she told like everybody about what was going on w/the police sting.
They're right she is very communicative

I think Fidel took how to be an annoying brother classes from Juancho, or maybe its like a disease and once you pass it on you get over it, or something.


Waaa Marina
Hopefully the guys can get to her and grovel sufficiently before she gets a new job.

"He's a smart cop, but a stoopid and over protective big brother." WORD! Wait until Edwina finds out he's trying to pick her suitors. My money's on her, big guns or no.

I am not enjoying the guys digging themselves into a hole by trying to do some big gesture for Marina instead of just saying "I'm sorry."

"The guys planned a great little party with balloons and everything, but Sara and Marina arrive together and Sara thinks it's a party for her!" Okay, this was frustrating. Diva's right. The guys just need to talk to her to let her know what she means to them and to the company.

"Unfortunately, Fidel and Quintin have a conversation about what kind of person Fidel thinks his sister should be with (like it's his business.)" So true! This is a cultural difference (a brother or father "celando" his sister/daughter) that is interesting to contemplate.

Thanks for the recap Sara!

Poor Simon :( although pretty much everything else made me laugh in that scene when they found them in the rocket. I found everyone's facial expression hilarious, especially the way lightweight Sara had a grip on Fidel's arm trying to hold him back throughtout it all.

Sneaky: yep juancho seems to be cured of the annoying brother disease. I found it ironic that it was him who pointed out to Sara whether it was wise to use Cheo's shoulder to cry on. But I did find it funny to see Antonio's jealous fit.

So it looks like Quintin is going a-courting'....oh boy...

And who knew Sara has a photographic memory.

jlk - I loved finding out Sara had a photographic memory. I'm hoping that figures in the plot later. As sneaky has pointed out, the writers seem to be good with detail and it doesn't seem like they would add that and not use it.

Very cute episode today! Very quick mini recap from my tablet.

- Tonio asks Sebas WTF about Marina's resignation. He does what he can in D.F. to put a halt to it, and demands that Sebas get Marina back! Since Sebas is trying to leave on a jet plane out of SG to DF to avoid marriage to Titina, he puts Rafa in charge of finding her. They have no luck. The neighbors report she left with a suitcase.
- Titina catches Sebas buying his tickets, and she and her mother put her brothers on surveillance duty to watch Sebas' every move. He tries the Rastafarian disguise again, but the bros are wise to it and are waiting for him at the airport.
- Rafa is cold to poor David because he's suspect number one now. And poor David gets a "bolsazo" to his other eye from Nacho's wife who's upset to learn his restaurant now belongs to Leila. Leila defends Nacho, and basically declares her love. Clueless Nacho scoffs at this and hurts her feelings.
-Quintin brings Edwina chocolates, and then lies that they are apology chocolates from Fidel. Fidel threatens to hurt Quintin, then approves his request to woo Ed. Magda tries to convince Ed to give Quintin a chance. Ed makes the same face I made.
- Simon and Vicente play with his machine to simulate the force/shaking that happens during rocket take off and ascent/decent. The machine leaves Simon with tremors all the way into the next day. LOL!
- Merce arrives to work with Sara. But Sara isn't there the morning she arrives and Bruno has to make up an excuse, because...
 

...Tonio arrived the evening before, unexpectedly, and takes Sara off to a hotel. They make love all night, and the next morning. They are adorable, and Tonio has NEVER looked so happy or relaxed.
- Eventually, Sara and Tonio head to Conatrol, where they wish Sebas good luck on his escape. Tonio is not officially back to work, and is headed back to DF, but makes it clear he has every intention of coming back ASAP and taking back his job.
- Isa and Ric review the audit at his place. She shuts down his advances. Ric advises her to bribe the auditor so that he'll sign off on Ric's modifications. Isa arranges to have the money transferred, and happily thinks about how Tonio will react when his.dad is carted off to jail. Beyotch.
 

You're the best, Vivi! I was planning on putting up some highlights this morning. Sitting in my warm bed with my tablet and coffee is so much better so my thank you is filled with extra thanks!

"Ed makes the same face I made." Quintin is not a bad guy, but so not for Edwina. I hope they can find someone for Quintin.

"Tonio has NEVER looked so happy or relaxed." For me, most of what made this episode so cute and fun was all the smiling. I loved seeing Tonio so happy and sometimes it almost felt like I wasn't watching the characters but the actors just having fun. I thought it was darling when Sara was reaching for her phone and in trying to get to it jabbed Tonio in the gut. He even gasped out "*gah* panza" The playfulness in bed was cute.

"Beyotch" Word. She can go away now please.


As I watched yesterday I thought to myself how much I enjoy watching so many of these characters. I want lots of happy endings.

One more thought and I'll be done - I am so loving Violeta Isfel in this. Titina is awful, but she makes me laugh.

OK 2 thoughts- I miss the folks from SDdlP. I hope we get to see them one last time.
 

Sara- ITA about Violeta (such a contrast seeing her convict character in YNCELH each night), and the San Dionisio peeps. Hope Sara and David pay them a visit while working on the community project.

yeah not seeing Winnie and Quintin together, it just doesn't fit.


I loved ProtaSara and Antonio together so much, and I loved how the next morning she was the one worrying about being late to work and he was trying to convince her to play hooky and stay and have breakfast in bed with him.


oh and poor David, I was worried it was the same eye he got hit in last time, till he told Rafa it wasn't. I hope bad stuff doesn't keep happening to him because they think he might be the mole and Pedro wants to contact him, my brain is coming up with all sorts of vaguely dreadful things to happen to him(stop it brain).

I was worried about David's eye, too. I was glad they clarified that it was a different eye.

Let's see... yesterday.
I remember that Cheby is at the wedding venue, escorted by the 3 hulks. They are wearing sleeveless tuxedo clingy shirts - ha, ha - so cute.

Anto, Sara, Rafa, Nelson and Pepe arrive at the wedding site and strike a pose in black special forces garb, as if to rescue Sebas, but alas, they are not able to really help him. At the end, Titina shows up in her wedding gown, looking pretty and fierce at the same time.

Bruno goes to El Molcajete and helps Rosa by running an errand. Laura is there and so is Merce. Merce insists that Bruno stay and have sopes with Laura. He is super cold to Laura and she says that she will leave so that he won't be uncomfortable. I remember her saying that since she doesn't know how to lie, she confesses that she is devastated by her breakup with Bruno. He remains steely and she leaves. After she leaves Bruno cannot manage to taste the sopes, because he is so sad and conflicted. (My heartstrings still hurt.)

Isa seems to successfully bribe the auditor, saying that she will soon take over her father's businesses (Sounds like a winner of a business plan.), so it would be a good idea for him to cooperate.

Does anyone remember other important stuff?

Only 2 other things I remember:
1. Quintin secretly gives Edwina a bouquet of roses. She assumes they are from Simon.

2. Simon continues his next phase of training. He's using diving gear to stay under water to stimulate the zero-gravity of space (I think). Edwina comes looking for him, and accidently falls into the pool. The padre jumps in after her.

I could not stop laughing at Sebas' fantasy of his friends in black-ops gear striking a pose, HA! The whole wedding scene had me cracking up!

Titina shows up in her wedding gown, looking pretty and fierce at the same time. <-Yep, on target Denise.

Forgot to mention that I loved that little prank Antonio & Sara did on Sebas about 2 episodes ago. Love how cute & happy those two are, and it's fun to see the chemistry all the actors have. It really felt like a couple of friends having laugh in the office.

Here goes

I actually got to see it today, but I watched yesterday's right before so I might get them mixed up,

The wedding
Sebas finds out they have a priest coming, he kicks up and tries to get out of it but some strong arming from the bros and snip motions from the mom and he quiets down
Until, the priest asks if anybody knows a reason why they shouldn't get married and Pepe steps forward and executes the only plan they have left - he says Sebas is a known member of the gay community.
Fuss and feathers and Sebas goes for it saying yes and David is my pareja and we can get married in the DF and adopt Titina's baby
David isn't super happy about that but keeps his mouth shut
Fight
Escape
Sebas will stay at Merce's in Progresso for a while

The pool
Padre V fishes Edwina out w/some help from the caretaker guy and Simon resuscitates her
She says she came by to thank him for the roses and he grumpily says he didn't send any
Edwina sadly leaves
Qintin picks her up and takes her home
Apparently she's allergic to chlorine so she gets a rash
Quintin professes his love
Edwina tells him she's in love w/someone else but maybe when she gets over Simon
Padre V clues Simon in that Edwina is in to him and she only said those things to placate Fidel
Quintin leaves and runs into Simon and Padre Vincente going to visit Edwina
Quintin plays dirty and implys that he helped Edwina put lotion on her all over rash
Simon sadly goes home and gives up

Part 2
Natalia and Isa
Natalia tries to break up w/Chelo but he already sold the distribution rights to their wedding and if there's no wedding he's in financial and legal trouble
So Nata agrees to go ahead w/the wedding
When Sebas calls to tell her he didn't get married after all, she cries and turns him away because she can't trust him like she did when they started dating. (if he's really repentant and has learned his lesson, which he better have, he might be more trustworthy now, but she doesn't feel that way)
Chelo wants to take Nata to some remote and romantic place and she convinces Isa to go with
It turns out badly, it rains and Isa is unhappy, cold and mean. Nata is just unhappy and cold and trying to make the best of it


Antonio and Sara
He wants to formally ask her mom for her hand
Simon and Padre Vicente get tearful contemplating losing Sara but they will support her because they want her to be happy
Tonio gets her family and friends to help plan a surprise party at El Molcajete and takes Sara for a romantic day together to distract her while they prepare
They have ice cream in the park and kisses
Merce calls Sara w/a problem at El M and she goes in a panic but there is only a party w/all her favorite people and Antonio with an engagement ring
(all this was so romantic and sweet and I can't really do it justice)

Oh I forgot that Bruno asked Tonio could they please get Pedro arrested asap because being apart from Laura was killing him and while they were fixing up the surprise party Laura told Bruno how unhappy she is w/o him

Only other stuff was Tonio's family. His mom being a b, his dad looking really sick, but having some cute moments with Mariana. And Ric stealing a letter from David's bank from his mailbox as part of the plan to frame him. Poor David! He got socked in the eye again by Titina's bro too.
 

Sneaky- Laura and Bruno break my heart. I want Pedro arrested, y ya, too.

I was happy to hear Simon finally admit he loves Edwina. Now he needs to do something about it.
 

Looks like this will be the last page post for La Vecina per Blog Mom's decision to cut back on the blog to just primetime on Uni. This is very sad, but understandable given the amount of time and effort it takes to manage a large blog like this. I will miss this little patio though. :(
 

Yeah, sad to hear but that's what it looks like. It seems like there is a lot of behind the scenes work, and I do sometimes forget that it's a few who work to keep this site running for the masses' enjoyment. And like you said Vivi, understandably it must take a lot to manage this blog, especially when everyone has their own life to keep them busy.

Diva, know that you're hanging your hat as an admin but still hope to see you around :)

And I will definitely miss this little patio! I wish that more people were able to enjoy and appreciate this cute tn, but glad to find others who I could watch this along with. Thanks Sara for bringing us together :D

Oh man, another episode that had me cracking up....too funny! My fav parts had to be when Sebas turned around to his buds to try to find a willing partner, and poor David drew the short stick. And then as they were running away from the wedding/fight, it was cute to see how Antonio was carrying Sara to their getaway car. I was hoping to see Sara in wedding attire, but alas that girl really loves her capris...

I'm glad that Edwina made it clear to Quintin what her feelings are, that was a sweet but sad little scene they had. But of course then he to make false insinuations, and in front of the padre no less

And yay! they are officially engaged! Definitely one of my fav tn couples :)

We should each list our favorite moments so far, or our favorite episodes, or our favorite storyline or favorite somethings to put us in a good mood

Mine is when Sebas was green and everybody thought he was an alien from the ovni and chased him

And I kinda still like that thing ProtaSara did at the very beginning when she said she had just one stop to make before taking him home and didn't tell Tonio it was in the next town over

Sneaky- Great idea. I didn't because I daily watcher of this cute little tn until a few weeks in, so I actually missed Sara and Tonio's misadventure where they first fell in love.

I too busted a gut during Sebas's green adventure, and also when they turned Isa blue. Heehee!

Titina's bros crack me up. So does Chelo.

Loved the whole San Dionisio period and all the characters there. Spooky, funny, and touching at the same time.

Right now is my favorite period between Sara and Tonio because he's so all in, and they are both so happy.

Thanks to Sara for getting us together and prompting some of us to recap for the first time. You're all my favs: Sara, Diva, Vivi, Sneaky, JLk and all of you occasional commenters too. It's going to be sad to watch the rest of our novela without you. I'll try Diane's suggestion, I'm thinking.

Vivi, I totally recommend you watch the episodes of Sara and Tonio's misadventure if you ever have the chance. Definitely worth a watch.

Thank you everyone for the recaps this week. I finally had a chance to catch up and I think I teared up right along with Merce. What a weird coincidence that the week ended on that proposal completely by accident. It felt planned. I had to remind myself that was Thursday's episode, not Friday's.
 

Kat- Yeah, that was a PERFECT way to end the week. Guess we should thank El Chapo for getting captured (and Kate del Castillo and Sean Penn too, apparently).
