Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #98 1-14-16 The resurrection of Pilar!

Ciao, MIVAC Peeps!  We know the big story in tonight's show is the miraculous appearance of Pilar, Pedro's Mother, long thought to be dead, but let's summarize other action before we get to that.

Diana arrives home and finds her Mom tied up and unconscious.  Anibal tied her up, kidnapped Beto and is demanding a huge ransom.  She goes to Vitto for help who pledges he will pay the ransom.  Domingo protests as Vitto is going to use money earmarked to keep La Dolce Vita afloat.  Diana is grateful!

Looks like we ARE to understand, as I predicted, that Eloisa's misadventure in the barrio and involuntary/temporary status as a beggar would cause her to have a change of heart.  Eloisa gives away a bunch of her clothes and shoes to the needy and plans to sell a lot of her jewelry and give the proceeds to charity.  She also decides to accept Fiorella's suggestion that inequities don't just exist outside El Rancho Los Angeles but in it as well.  Fiorella thinks the house staff should be able to dress as they please.  Eloisa not only agrees but has Fiorella fitted for a pretty floral dress as per Fifi's request and allows Quina, Simoneta, Fidel and Benni to dress as they please.  No more uniforms!  She does advise against too loud colors.  Eloisa even conducts her first table etiquette lesson with the house staff, enlisting Roxi to be her assistant.  This is just the beginning of Eloisa's teaching them some bougie manners!

Fifi happily tells Petey about his Granny's change and Petey credits Fifi and this, like everything else with these two randy kids, leads to some kissing and feeling up and yah. . .Fifi even falls asleep and gets her dress all wrinkled.  Hmmm.

Eloisa describes what Freddie did as more of a robbery than a kidnapping.  She gives details on how Freddie incapacitated her.  Everybody discusses what a souless, crazy, deranged witch Freddie is and Eloisa sends Dante to look for her.

Gianna does a report on cardiomyopathy in her anatomy class.  Gael sits in to hear her report.  She does an excellent job and later that day in her room he congratulates her, consoles and reassures her she will be a great physician!  Suddenly she gets a sharp, stabbing chest pain and he insists she lay down, relax, be calm and think of how much he loves her.

Sonia meets with Fabio and gets some evidence to cook Benigno, Assvaldo and possibly her own goose.  She reassures Fabio that he will not be implicated.

Pedro and Assvaldo talk about the Japanese deal.  Pedro decides to meet by video conference with the Japanese, close the deal urgently and then sign the contract first as a sign of trust and respect and then send it to them.  Benigno was in the Ranch as this conversation took place.  Ass runs out to tell Benigno they have to get rid of Pedro right now because of Pedro's dangerous proposal!  Yet later Ass talks to Sonia about the plan to off Pedro.  Sonia asks Ass to wait until tomorrow.  "If everything isn't solved, you can move on with the plan to kill him."  Assvaldo thought bubbles, "Sonia, what have you done?"

Now to Federica and Pilar.  Federica is indeed surprised that it is Pilar whom they long thought was dead.  Just the mention of Maximo's name sends Pilar into fits of fear and hysteria!  Freddie doesn't waste time and finds out within minutes that Maximo had her locked away in the mental institution because she found out about the swindle of Gabriel.  Freddie even asks Pilar for whether and where is her proof of the swindle.  Pilar keeps saying "The truth is in Albano."  At first Freddie doesn't understand what she means but does figure it out later.

Freddie takes Pilar out of the institution to a hotel or something where she shows Pilar pictures of the Ranch and of Pedro on her phone and continues to badger Pilar for information on the swindle.  Pilar freaks at every mention of Maximo's name and does not want to go to the ranch.  At first Freddie doesn't even tell Pilar Maximo is dead but finally does and tells her she will take her to Pedro.

Dante arrives at the mental hospital and finds Pilar gone.  He demands to speak to the hospital's Manager.

Freddie takes Pilar to the Ranch and sneaks in, both are dressed in hooded capes.  They go up to Eloisa's room and from what Freddie says they had already been to the stables because "Albano" is the name of Pedro's horse.  Pilar looks around in wonder and then focuses on a painting in the inner hallway of Eloisa's room.  Over a desk there is a painting of a horse and Pilar goes "Albano!"  Freddie takes the painting down and Pilar leaves the room.

Pilar goes to Pedro's room.  He is asleep but awakens as she calls him plaintively.  Pedro calls, "who is it?" over and over and then recognizes his Mother's voice.  Pilar and Pedro reach for each other in the darkness and almost touch when the dead-hearted, black-cloaked Federica grabs Pilar, covering her mouth and drags her from the bedroom.  Pedro staggers, empty arms extended as he stumbles calling "Mama!  Mama, is that you?!"

There ya go, Peeps! Another good show!

Lila- It was a good show, and you did an excellent job!

Federica IS heartless. I feel horrible for Pilar falling into her hands and being used this way. Poor Pilar! So close, and yet so far from her baby boy. I hope she gets her full sanity back, and soon. Damn you, Max!

Ok. Not quite sure if giving away her old close and shoes is the best rich old Eloisa can do to help the poor of Mexico, but I guess it's a start. Loved the dress she had made for Fi. I'd totally wear that dress.

As for the etiquette lessons, I found it a bit insulting. Are they trying to tell us that the servants who set the table every day, and serve and observe the people they serve, don't know what all the various silverware are for? Oh, please! They would know. They may not use all that silverware themselves (cause it's kind of stupid and wasteful), but they would know.

I got a kick out of Benito's gold chain and cleavage bearing shirt (maybe he lost the buttons), and I'm surprised Eloisa didn't say anything about it. I get that the black uniforms kind of suck, but I certainly wouldn't want to ruin my own clothes cooking and.cleaning. The no uniform thing makes no sense to me.

Clothes, not close.

Thank you LILA! Girl, you are meeting yourself coming in the door with back to back summaries! I know it take a big chunk of time out of your evening. We all appreciate it.

This whole episode just kept ratcheting up my level of dislike for Fed. The way she continued to bully the mentally ill Pilar was disturbing. When she found out Dante was the one who had been making payments to the manicomio.... Dun-dun-DUNNNN. I think he is a dead duck. And, for comic relief we got Fed and Pilar sneaking up the mansion staircase in long black hooded capes. Like nobody will see them if they are disguised in that get-up, eh?

And once again I am speculating who is going to "cough off" and be Gianna's heart donor? We're getting too many hints, I just wonder if it's going to be a near and dear one...or one of the baddies?

Nitey-nite all,
J in Oregon

Gracias Lila. Appreciate the efforts this week!

This episode made me more aggravated than anything. Guess it was bound to happen after we had some positive plot movement.

When it comes to Freddie, not surprised all she thinks abois her revenge and getting her mitts on the money she feels she is owed. Seems to me this chick has had a really comfortable life and the greed to have more and get back at the family has put her over the edge. Pilar couldn't be in worst hands. So what will she do with her...lock her up in the mansion? Maybe she has a big reveal plan, she does like the dramatic. Knowing Dante also was working the Max line too in his secrets, I'm surprised that man doesn't explode from secret keeping. Dead man walking??

Going along with the fact this was supposed to be a lighter TN (cough cough), we now see Her Highness playing the Great Benefactor, giving away clothes and donating money. How kind. And wow, a whole new dress for Fi (which, sorry, I didn't especially like--but she did, flowers and all.) But I couldn't agree more that the whole table manners thing was a HUGE put off. She the staff doesn't know how to eat a seven course meal with 4 forks. WHO CARES??? The whole idea was insulting to me. I would rather her decide to have a nice dinner with her staff and offer apologies for her past elitist behavior (barbecue would have gone further to show she can get off that head of the table chair once in a while.)

And do they not have a Back Door in this enormous house??? Who sneaks in a front door during the day. In hoods...and got past the supposed security? Ok then.

Daisynjay

Buongiorno e mille grazie, Vivi!

Yes, damn that Federica! I KNEW that crazy devil was going to be all about "they done my Daddy wrong!"

In a scene I didn't cover all the house staff and Roxi were at breakfast talking about Freddie's kidnap of Eloisa. Anyway, Fidel was saying, not by way of excuse, that Freddie had a rough childhood. Her mother died in childbirth and her father not long thereafter and even though she is a full blooded Angeles with all the rights that entails, she was always treated like an outsider. So, she may not have had a demon sibling, but sounds like she was treated like Gael but defended herself with the viscious Maximo gene from hell.

Yah, this WAS a slap:

Are they trying to tell us that the servants who set the table every day, and serve and observe the people they serve, don't know what all the various silverware are for?

Sheesh! Oh, the dumb-ass poor, can't even learn anything when they're in context and observe it everyday!

Vivi. I thought the same thing about uniforms. There's nothing inherently insulting or demeaning about wearing uniforms: poeple at all levels of the socio economic strata do so not only as role identification but to maintain the mindset of work identity and yah, who wants to wear their personal clothes to cook, clean and schlep around the ranch. Just let them give input to the designer so that each has a uniform that fits their personal tastes.

Did you guys hear when Fifi was telling them they didn't need uniforms, Fidel said, "I don't have to wear a suit!" and Benni said, "I don't have to wear a tie!" and Simonetta shouted, "I don't have to wear underwear!" Dead silence, then she giggled, "Did I think that or say it?" Too funny!

Back in a bit, getting ready for work!

Buongiorno e grazie tantissimo, J in O!

Thank you for using the word "bullying" for what Freddie was doing to Pilar! That is just criminal! She is absolutely using poor Pilar, ABUSING her for her own ends! Freddie IS vile and I guess it makes sense that, as I mentioned in my comment above, it makes sense, NOT an excuse that being made to feel an outsider and orphaned partially by the tragic death of her mother in child birth and partially by the murder of her dad by his own brother could lead to this kind of depravity.

IF Gabriel was innocent and we're being told the whole truth about the swindle, it's too bad that someone sane isn't trying to vindicate him, but who would that be. Anyway, Freddie needs to go down in flames!

And once again I am speculating who is going to "cough off" and be Gianna's heart donor?

OMG, J, do you think this is what's happening? Wow! Who are they going to bump off! That little talk in anatomy class was really like a big flag. Roxi gently scolded Gigi for being so dramatic and Gigi emphasized that with treatment or a transplant people could go on to live normal lives.

My gosh! Do you think they would bump off Roxi?

Please, don't rematar Pilar!

Ooooh, this is sad/exciting!

"Sonia meets with Fabio and gets some evidence to cook Benigno, Assvaldo and possibly her own goose" See Lila you are a master chef.

"Fiorella thinks the house staff should be able to dress as they please" Honestly, is this the best she can come up with? How about a family and staff bowling night and Eloisa buys the beer?

Hooded capes, why not the Hamburglar?

Oh man, let the heart donor be anonymous and not someone like Roxy

That painting of Albano has been shouting at everybody.

Thanks Lila for recapping this and thanks to everyone who is pitching in to keep this series going. Wasn't able to watch this week until last night but enjoyed seeing our abuela experiencing what it's like to be poor and friendless in the big city. The scenes with Pilar were disturbing and dark (what DID Maximo do to her?) and sad to say, I'm finding Fiorella's relentless Disney-like good cheer and rollicking little laugh more and more annoying.

But they've certainly ratcheted up the interest level in this with some dramatic reveals. I too enjoyed Simona's underwear quip, Lila, although the poor dear came in for some criticism for her exuberant choice of color at dinner...as note-worthy as her marvelous pink outfit for the wedding. But I too would prefer a uniform to having to wear my own clothing for work. Your own clothing is for special occasions and work is seldom a "special occasion". Especially not in that household where people throw tantrums, tear apart beds, dump lamps and break glassware on a regular basis.

For some reason, I was riveted by Federicka's strange green heels. They looked terribly uncomfortable and when the camera focused on her ankles they seemed to be wobbling as if the actress was having a hard time walking in them. I certainly would!

Thanks Lila, and thanks Sneaky Two Shoes and anyone else who is pitching in to keep our little ship afloat.

Buongiorno e grazie carita Daisynjay!

Yah, Daisy, looks like Freddie is going to hide Pilar and herself maybe right in the mansion? That's going to be dumb but that looks like what we're in for!

Knowing Dante also was working the Max line too in his secrets, I'm surprised that man doesn't explode from secret keeping. Dead man walking??

Ewww, if Dante or Freddie for that matter, were to die, surely they wouldn't let sweet Gigi get one of those corroded "hearts!"

Daisy, I like your idea of Eloisa having a barbeque with the staff and apologizing for her haughty ways. That an inviting them to design their own work wear would have gone a long way.

Yah, Daisy, every show we are shown what crappola "security" is. Have the Angeles not seen how sucky "security" is? I said that there's a major breach of security. Make that EVERY DAY! Freddie kidnaps and robs the matriarch and people within the house are no more vigilant than to let this happen:

And do they not have a Back Door in this enormous house??? Who sneaks in a front door during the day. In hoods...and got past the supposed security? Ok then.

Yah, beanie time. No, BEANIE TIME! Not breaking my promise not to fuss, folks, just saying "Amen"!

Okay, off to work. . .back soon!

Hi, Lila. What a great retelling. I like your shorter recaps every bit as much as the longer ones!

I agree the Fed is a crazy loose cannon, but have to admit that she is a plot driver. Where would we be without her pathological pursuit of information?

El's new appreciation for the poor is sudden, and, coming from her previous snooty position, she is bound to make mistakes in how she relates to poorer people. Too bad she didn't approach some professional charity outfit to ask what the poor needed, and exactly what she should do.

So Fi gets a brand new custom dress and promptly christens it Bill Clinton style? She was wearing a different dress at dinner.

Thanks again, Lila. Great job!

David

Lila, you are doing a marvelous job with these - your summaries are succinct yet sharp and sweet.

"Sonia meets with Fabio and gets some evidence to cook Benigno, Assvaldo and possibly her own goose", "Eloisa's misadventure in the barrio and involuntary/temporary status as a beggar" and "black-hearted, black-cloaked Federica" were among my favorites.

A bit sad Fi has regressed to her floral prints. I mean, is there anything wrong with a nice, solid color? Sigh.

I felt so badly for Pedro with his mother so close yet whisked away so suddenly. I hope she lives to enjoy a real reunion with her son.

Can't wait to see what Sonia has up her sleeve - let's hope her plan succeeds before Os attacks Pedro.

Vivi, your Ok. Not quite sure if giving away her old close and shoes is the best rich old Eloisa can do to help the poor of Mexico made me laugh out loud as did your “Hooded capes, why not the Hamburglar?”, tofie. Gracias.

Thanks again for everything you do Lila.

Diana

Oi, had not thought of who in our story could possibly be a heart donor for Gia. I mean this is a TN, so most likely won't be some random person somewhere. Most viable people are less than desirable ( you wonder if they have heart.)

Rox at this point would be sad as she is starting to change and that puts Benny out a main squeeze. Sonia maybe?

My WORST fear...it's going to be Gael. Symbolic clap trap that his heart is always with her. They do that, I'm outta this show.

Daisynjay

OK guys at work on my phone as internet is out. Have s long comment but will wait till I'm back online. Hmmmm... Don't see emoticons. Oh well.

YAAY, tech guy just got me back online!

Buongiorno e grazie grazie Tofita! Hey, I like you and Daisy's "sorry for being a classist bitch" reconcilation plan: A Barbeque in that lovely garden and then a family/staff bowling night with the booze on Eloisa! You know with the uniform thing, Eloisa is getting off from dropping a few dimes for their work wear.

Oh yeah, I also didn't cover that Roxi helped HER MOM, Quina, get dolled up for the ettiquette lesson.

Albano. You know what? I'm surprised the secret isn't in El Leggs Pantyhose Dude picture! Too out in the open, I guess!

JudyB! Buongiorno e grazie tantissimo! You know what, Judy, I think when it is revealed that Pilar is alive and that Freddie sprung her and has been hiding her in the mansion, bullying and abusing her for her own purposes, that is going to take that "va bene" smile off Fiorella's face! She said last night that two things she learned from her Mother in the short time she was with her was how to cook, and how to put the best face on any situation. Well, I'm sorry, what was done to Pilar is BUTT UGLY and even Fi can't dress that up!

Judy, I thought the same thing about Freddie's heels. Now, I haven't worn heels in over ten years and thank goodness. Remember a while ago when they had those (and maybe they still do) awful pointy-toed things and now these hills with the platform under the toe box and stupidly high heels and did you notice most women have a big space at the back of the shoe like Minnie Mouse? Goshawful things, that's enough to drive you crazy and make you do all sorts of stuff! Ok, silly rant over.

David! Buongiorno y grazie grazie, fratello! Good point about Freddie being a plot driver! That, she is!

You are so right about Elo needed to consult with a charity. Ah, well, as you say, she's bound to make some mistakes with this newfound largesse!

So Fi gets a brand new custom dress and promptly christens it Bill Clinton style?

See, I purposely bit my tongue on that scene. I knew y'all would come through! HA!

Diana! Mille, mille grazie! Diana, there are so many parent and child separations and reunions: Quina and Roxi; Gael and Papi Chulo Augustin; we know Fiorella will be reunited with Santino and Julieta and we almost had one last night between Pedro and Pilar. That was SO cruel!

Yes! There's Sonia's plan as well! Things HAVE picked up!

Oh no, Daisy! Let's beseech the TN gods, not Gael! I feel like crying just thinking of it. That would make no sense and be just sadistic to us viewers!

Perish the thought! Perish the thought! Pretty Ponies! Rainbows! Bubbles! Unicorns!

There. I feel better!

Lila - Thank you for the recap!!! I can't wait to watch this episode.

Seriously? Fedeloca had herself and Pilar wearing hooded capes? In broad daylight? The writers must have lost their minds.

Elo giving etiquette lessons in dining to the staff? Ummm....I agree with the comments here. Apparently she is on the Road To Redemption, but the writers (again....the writers!!!) could have made it more believable. Will she redeem herself enough to approve of Pedro & Fi marriage? Will Fidro have to FFTL some more? Oh, wait! Once Elo finds out Fi is Ju's daughter, that will be a non-issue. Ultimas semanas, anyone? Although, the way the Big Reveals are being flung at us, it could happen any time. Gah.

I will have to watch this episode just for Simoneta's comment. ~snort~ She and Adela are my two most favorite characters in this telenovela.

Nina - Emoji was an app I put on my iPhone that had all those emoticon symbols, but somewhere along the line it became incorporated into the iPhone keyboard, I think after an update. Your smartphone app store should have them. The ones I posted yesterday look different (no colors, etc.) on my PC, probably because it is a PC and not an Apple product.

"...and did you notice most women have a big space at the back of the shoe like Minnie Mouse?"
I am always amazed when I see women walking around in shoes with that full-size space back there. Exactly HOW do they walk? And keep from walking right out of those shoes? Yes, fellow Patio Peeps, these are the things my mind ponders, when I see that.
???HOW???

Buongiorno, Doris! and grazie tantissimo! Do watch it, Doris, I think that ever since Freddie found Pilar in the manicomio it's been great! I think I was also heartened by Pete and Fifi getting married, being a sucker for sappy kissy face. With Pilar's reappearance and Sonia's determination to out Ass and Beg, tonight should be decent!

I am always amazed when I see women walking around in shoes with that full-size space back there. Exactly HOW do they walk?

Doris, I'm just glad somebody else noticed! I'm like, this is the way shoes fit when you were playing house when you were a little girl. Jeezo-pete! The things we do to be stylish!

Gimme my sketchers, honey!

" I'm like, this is the way shoes fit when you were playing house when you were a little girl. Jeezo-pete!"
Exactly! I just don't get it, at all. I'm happiest (well, my feet are happiest, too) when I'm wearing my athletic shoes and custom orthotics. Aaaaack! Now I feel like that Maxine cartoon lady. ;-)

On a sad note, QEPD Alan Rickman. ~sobs~

"Perish the thought! Perish the thought! Pretty Ponies! Rainbows! Bubbles! Unicorns!"

Right there with you...it hurt just writing that, so sorry I put those bad vibes in your head. But these writers.....

And you know what cracked me up on Freddie's shoes more than those god-awful 4 inch heels...the fact as she tried to slink into the house, her blasted heels made enough noise on the stairs to wake the dead. For cripes sake, take them off and tip toe in. Some days with the direction on this TN....

And yes, doris. I was in the office when I saw the alert on Alan Rickman and may I say, I had to walk away from my desk and go sniffle in the washroom. One of my very favorite actors for many, many, many years. Dear Colonel Brandon...

Daisynjay

Lila, love the recap love the story. Thank you.
Keep it comin.
Whatever is hidden in that picture frame is a
Killer of evidence ( operative word here KILLER). I knew it was to good to be true for
Her to get to pedro. We don't yet know what
Freddy found hidden in that painting. Could be something incriminating to her father. But
We'll find out tonite.
So, the ol girl has softened, somewhat. We'll
See what happens when she finds out that fi
Is her granddaugher-in-law. Why does fio need another floral dress? Is she going to hawaii? Yeah thats why. Fi said everybody looked like they were going to funerals all the
Time. Im glad the ol girl had a change of heart.
Dante got some splainin to do. He know lots
Of secrets. Not good for him.
Now what is freddy gonna do with moma? She (freddy)better not let dante get his hands on her.(pilar).
All these people got a lot of splainin to do.
Lila this was good and fun.
Thanks again!!♡♥♡♥.

Thank you doris for emoji imfo. ☆★☆★

Hey, Nina! Grazie tanto!

Freddy found hidden in that painting. Could be something incriminating to her father.

You've got a point, there, Nina. Freddy is so cruel I almost want Gabriel to have been an a-hole like his brother, Max, and let Freddie's discovery of it be part of her comeuppance!

Then, maybe shrewd old Granny moved the evidence!!

Nina, I certainly trust Dante more with Pilar than Freddie but Dante would probably take her back to the manicomio without a word to anyone because if Pilar knows of the swindle, she knows of Gabriel's murder. Don't know if Pilar would know that Dante is the trigger man but probably so as Dante was/is Maximo's devoted slave and did all his dirty work.

He and Freddie are a couple a twisted devils!

"Dear Colonel Brandon..."
Daisynjay - I know!!! ~sniffles~ And Galaxy Quest! And a long list of others!!!

doris..I admit it. I have copy of Galaxy Quest ( one of my hidden nerd favorites) and popped it in last night I was sad. Tonight, it's Sense and Sensibility and the thinking of Truly, Madly, Deeply tomorrow. I'll be a mess by Saturday night

Nina, I love your idea about the info in the horse painting actually outing Gabriel as a crook. But then, why lock up Pilar for that unless she thinks that's all it was but there was more. I could stand a good twist to this sordid tale. Mainly because I'm getting rather tired of Freddie. She was funny with her awful outfits and whining...she's passed that and now can go anytime.

Daisynjay

daisy, please let me echo your thoughts of "Dear Colonel Brandon".

Sense and Sensibility is my favorite movie and Alan's performance had no small part in being the reason. I always told myself Kate Winslet would grow to love him just as he deserved...

Diana

Glad it's a long weekend, because I will definitely be watching Sense and Sensibility this weekend sometime.

I watched this episode during lunch. My guess for the hooded capes is to keep from being identified via security cameras? Those shoes were quite noisy on the stairs.....

True beanie hat moment was Fedeloca springing Pilar from the institution. Really? They just let her walk out with someone they've never seen before? How do they know she wasn't being kidnapped? Argh.....

Elo --- 'Our society is not fair and I'm going to start righting some of those wrongs today. Change begins with me. Therefore, I will teach you the difference between a salad fork and a dessert fork, the red wine glass from white wine glass ..... '

Do we think Pedro's horse is Albano I or Albano II?

Hee hee! The horsey in the picture must be the sire or grandsire of Pedro's Albano!

I suspect we will need chin straps for our beanies before this over. Maybe some folk are already wearing them?

Boy it will REALLY be hard to watch Asshat and his whatever he does when he makes out, and even Petey after watching A.R. with his dignity and sweetness in S & S. For that matter, even Willoughby might come off better than Asshat. I shall be listening for the collected sighs over the weekend. When Brandon asks for something to do "or I shall go mad" when Marianne is ill...I'm a puddle.

doris, that whole institution was maddening. Bare bones. I'm guessing it wasn't of a high order, just someplace to lose Pilar where she couldn't be found. Cut a check, claim to be family...guess that's all you need. They haven't painted the existent doctors in this to be that great. Good thing we have three characters planning to be one...maybe they can fire the ones in the area after they graduate.

I admit to having a very Jane Eyre vibe as Pilar snuck through the house. Seemed she was aware enough to sneak away from greedy Freddie and maybe could be clever enough to figure out how to escape rooms if locked in...provided Freddie doesn't parade her in during dinner soon. Would be kind of fun to see her scaring the bejeebies out of everyone for awhile.

Daisynjay

I've heard of Sense and Sensibility but don't know what it's about. From your brief conversation perhaps it's a love story but somehow I get the feeling one or both of the lovers die in the end. I'm a silly girl who likes happy endings. Afraid to look into it. Not asking for a spoiler here. :(

Lila- It's Jane Austen, so it's a happy ending. There are many versions, but we're referencing the Kate Winslet, Emma Thompson version. You would love it.

Definitely Lila, must see even without drooling over A.R. as some of us do. The Ang Lee version with the above actors is perfection. All the actors, no matter how minor, are true to the books and characters and amazingly well played. ( I have a soft spot for Hugh Laurie in this). There is a darling Hugh Grant and devilishly handsome Greg Wise thrown into boot. Story has sad moments, but like Vivi said, all good Austen has a happy ending. I never tire of seeing this version of the novel.

Daisynjay

Eloisa is going to single handedly right the wrongs of society, she's going to show us which fork to use for dessert and which fork to use for salad. Well this is the way I see it, you put a salad in front of me and whatever fork is there I'm going to use it, cuz I'm going to eat my salad and you put a dessert in front of me whatever fork for dessert for tonight if I like the desert I'm going to eat it. Same with the glass, but Im not a wine person so. Well
Shes trying bless her heart. But she'll just have to try harder when it comes to her new
Granddaughter inlaw.

Thanks, Vivi and Daisy, I think I'll just do that. If I liked Wuthering Heights, I should like it? Geez. Maybe I'll even read the book, S & S. I don't seem to read much besides work stuff, stop signs and Caray Caray these days -- not a put down, mates! You all compare the movies favorably to the book and that's what I like. The book is the bible and thou shalt not trash it in a movie!

Thanks!!

Jane Austen is light fare, compared to Wuthering Heights, IMHO.

Okay, so I can handle it! Thanks, Doris!

DaisynJay: Yes! that scene in Sense and Sensibility, Col Brandon quietly stating: "give me a something to do, or I shall go mad." Such an accomplished actor, A.R. Not flashy, not "Hollywood". No one else like him.
Sorry to be Off Topic. My heart is breaking.

J in Oregon

Awwwww, I'm sorry guys. I didn't have the pleasure of knowing that actor. I seriously would like to see S & S just for him. First David Jones (Bowie), now this gentleman and also Dan Haggerty (Grizzly Adams). God rest their souls!

********BREAKING NEWS ALERT*******

My stupid DVR showed the red light and pretended to be recording, I had programmed it and everything and I'll be John Brown if the dang recording isn't there!

So, no recap or summary until the morning because I didn't even watch the show yet either!

Sorry :(

the last movie I saw Alan Rickman in was this Western and Tom Selleck was in this movie with him, and Rickman was a really horrible person (the character he played) it was shot down in Australia, the setting was in australia in its early beginnings of that country. horrible character but he was a very good actor, sorry to see him gone. They'll probably have his movies on all weekend.
They're going to have a modern version of Jane Eyre (I thought the Ayre in Jane Eyre was spelled with an "A"instead of E. Im thinkin my auto correct Is messed up)On this weekend on one of the Hallmark Channels. I think it this weekend, it might be good, they got it set to look like a romantic comedy not exactly with comedy, but a lot like the old Jane Eyre movie but only 2016ish.

Ok! ms Lila, you have a gpod weekend.

Thanks, Nina, you too. I should have the recap up in the morning sometime!

Thank you Lila so much, amazing recap.

Freddy is completely crazy. I especially despise people who take advantage of others weakness or inability to take care of themselves. What she is doing to Pilar is just evil and criminal. I hope Pedro can have a happy ending with his mother, and in a way regain some of the motherly love he lost when the wicked Max committed her.

Eloisa isn't exactly my favorite person with how she is going about her concept of being nice to her workers, but I guess it with her little steps still mean progress.
