Pasion y Poder #50, 51, 52, Wednesday 01-13-2016

Apparently Univision cramped in three episodes on Wednesday night. I will do my best to summarize the 2 hours that aired.

Hour 1

David and Eladio continue their talk at the bar. Eladio grew up poor, but with a strict father. David has always been scared of his father. Eladio swears he will change, bla, bla, bla. David loves his father despite everything.

Julia and Art comtinue their chat over the phone. Julia wants to give her marriage another chance. Art wants to talk when she returns to the city.

Erick cries on his expensive, blood-stained shirt while in jail. The guard moves him to another cell.

Connie and Art chat about Erick, the baby and their future. Art reassures her that she and his grandchild will be taken care of. Connie says that Erick is innocent.

Regina and Miguel talk about Connie and her health and whether or not she lied in her statement to the police. They need to support Connie no matter what.

Gaby and Franco are having some pillow talk. Franco wants to know if Gaby knows anything about his past and where he came from. All she knows is that he arrived to the house when he was young, that his father was a chauffer at Eladio's company and his mother worked at the company in the administration offices.

In Puerto Vallarta the Gomez Luna clan has breakfast. David leaves to go work. Eladio tells Julia that he promised David to change. He also tells her that he has decided to seek professional help. (I don't believe him)

Auggie and Art chat in the home office about Erick and when he will be set free. Art wants to put some company shares in Miguel's name, as well as his unborn grandchild's name. Nina is listening at the door. Art thinks Connie may be able to work at the company too. Nina comes in and wants to go see Erick. Art thinks it's a bad idea.

Julia is surprised at what Eladio has announced. Julia acknowledges that she never gave Eladio an opportunity and she has been very unfair.

Art and Auggie talk about Nina. Art has decided on a divorce. Auggie reminds Art that Nina has 25% of Montenegro shares and a woman scorned is capable of anything. What if Dani, Erick and Nina join forces against him?

Humberto eavesdrops on a conversation between Gaby and Franco at the breakfast table. Franco thinks that Eladio is keeping something from him about his past. Humberto rolls in and wants to know what's going on. Franco leaves for work.

Franco checks out his birth certificate and realizes that his mother was single. Mirintia tells him that she can not find any company info on Caridad Herrera. He receives a phone call from Santiago in Tabasco. There is trouble at the construction site.

Nina visits Erick in jail. She insists that the guard free her son because he is innocent. Dani gives her statement to the cops. They know she is mixing up the truth with lies. Auggie tells her to stop talking. Nina tells Erick that Connie was on his side in her statement to the police. She tells him to treat Connie better, and he has to gain his father's trust again.

Julia and Eladio make plans to eat with David, but he gets a phone call from Franco about the trouble in Tabasco. Eladio has to leave and David will go with him.

Over the phone, Julia tells Gaby that she's considering giving Eladio another chance. Besides she doesn't want to stand between David and Regina. Eladio's even willing to go to therapy. Gaby will support her aunt no matter her decision.

In Tabasco, Santiago tells Eladio and David that the building is being constructed with sub par materials. Eladio doesn't know how this happened. Santiago warns Eladio that he will pay the price tricking him. Eladio tells Santiago he will take care of it. Santiago warns that if the buildings are not done correctly he will sue him and make sure to spread the bad word about Eladio's construction company.

Auggie tells Art that the forensic results are in from TheRat's murder. There is no concrete evidence against anyone in particular. They found alcohol and drugs in TheRat's blood.

David argues with his father about whether or not he used cheap materials to beat out Art. Eladio denies it. Eladio threatens a construction worker.

Art and Auggie plan to have a press conference to showcase Erick's innocense. Art calls Nina to tell her about Erick's release. She wants to go, but he tells her no. Art is about to call Julia but then stops himself.

The construction worker confesses that the materials were exchanged and that it was the leader of the syndicate who gave the order for the change. Eladio swears that everyone involved will go to jail. The worker says that the syndicate guy took off to Mexico.

Franco and Mirintia talk about his parents. He now thinks that Gisela was saying the truth. He needs to investigate more. He doesn't have a real family with Eladio and he feels that the truth is being kept from him.

A dinner is being made for Erick's homecoming. Nina itells Dani that her statement to the cops didn't affect Erick and he's getting out of jail. Dani feels that everyone is blaming her. Nina tells Dani to go pretty herself up. Dani is furious because noone in the family cares or listens to her. She no longer wants to work with her father and storms up the stairs. Nina tells Connie to get pretty for her husband.

Art goes for Erick. The cops announce to the media that there is not sufficient evidence against Erick, so he is a free man. Erick declares himself innocnet in front of the press. Erick goes after a reporter after said reporter asks if the Montenegro money helped get him free. Art holds him back. The reporter will do some investigating.

Miguel apologizes to Connie for talking bad about Erick. They want to be besties again. Erick walks in and Connie asks if he's OK. He says it's just some bruises and Miguel comments that maybe now he'll learn which sends Erick into wacko mode and he punches Miguel and breaks his glasses. Nina comes in to stop what looks like is about to be another fight. Art comes in and Nina blames everything on Miguel. They leave Connie and Erick alone. Erick thanks Connie for declaring in his favor. He goes in for a kiss, but he is DENIED! Connie did it for the child, not for him. He promises to be the best husband and father. He might be a good father, but for Connie he no longer is good husband material. She is happy he is out of jail, but she's had enough of his lies. She is only there because she made an agreement with Art to stay and the doctor told her not to move. He swears he will change, but she no longer believes him.

Eladio is back with Julia and they are leaving the hotel in P.V. Over the phone Franco tells Eladio that Erick is free, but the cops still do not have evidence against anyone. Eladio wants the syndicate guy found and charged with fraud. David and Eladio argue about doubting each other, but Julia stops it and they end up shaking hands.

Nina wants to know why Art thinks everything she does is wrong. She is hurt. Art gives her a hug and she thinks that everything is OK, but Art tells her that nothing has changed. Their relationship has deteriorated. Erick interrupts them. He tells them the truth about what happened that night. He did return to TheRat's apartment. In a flashback TheRat tells Erick to leave her in peace. She doesn't believe him anymore. After that night, her life is ruined. Erick tells her that they can get back together. She tells him No. To get out of her life forever. It will be the best for both of them. He tells her to think about it. They can still be happy. It's a lie she says. He is still married and doesn't have the nerve to get a divorce. She gave him so many opportunities, and he never made a decision. TheRat is tired. Erick says it's not that simple. If he had at least started the paperwork on the divorce, but he never did anything to demonstrate that she was important to him, so she wants him to disappear. She wants him to leave and she never wants to see him again. The flashback is over and in the present Erick tells his parents that he told her he would never get a divorce and then he left. Nina wants to talk to the press about Erick being innocnet, but Art turns it down. Erick tells them that Connie doesn't want anything to do with him. Art leaves to go to bed. Nina tells Erick that he needs to get Connie to forgive him because she already has compnay shares and she has to be on their side.

The GomezLuna arrive home and Julia goes upstairs to rest. Franco is upset because Eladio is leaving him out of a meeting and taking David with him instead. Franco is so pissed that he lets the cat out of the bag that Eladio paid for someone to beat up Erick. David is furious.

Hour 2

Franco turns things around and says that David has it wrong. It has something to do with buying off a reporter about something that was rumored to have been said, but I quit didn't understand it. Anyway, Eladio pleads innocent and tells David not to mention this to his mother.

Erick asks Connie for forgiveness for treating her badly when she went to visit him in jail. She still loves him, but she doesn't believe him anymore. He insinuates that she had something to do with TheRat's murder. She, on the other hand, knew that Erick was incapable of killing TheRat. She looks at him with disgust and disbelief. He says that he had time to think in jail and he wants to focus on his wife and child.

Eladio calls Franco a fool. Franco said what he said because he figured that if David is going to work with them, then he needs to know everything they do. Eladio tells him to correct the problem and to pay out of his pocket this time. Franco leaves and Humberto rolls in, wanting to talk with Eladio. Humberto wants to know if Franco is Eldio's son. Eladio denies, denies, denies and warns Gramps to not tell Julia. Gramps tells Eladio that Franco is investigating who his parents were and if Eladio is his father, that means that Eladio impregnated another woman at the same time Julia was pregnant with David.

Eladio questions Franco about why he is investigating his past. He throws an envelope down and tells him that his past is in there. Franco is about to open it, but Eladio guilts him and he doesn't open it. Franco knows that his padrino is lying.

Art goes for some of his things in Nina's bedroom and she tears up because she still doesn't understand why Art has distanced himself.

Julia and Gaby talk about needing a replacement for someone at the foundation and Gaby tells Julia about a program where you can hire rehabilitated women from jail. Julia is interested. Franco comes in and Gaby leaves. Franco asks Julia about his past. She tells him. We find out that he arrived when he was not yet 3. He grew up getting along with David when they were kids, but then grew distant when Eladio showed favortism toward Franco. Franco admits that he doesn't understand why, because you would think that Eladio would prefer David. He tells Julia that Eladio got upset when he found out that Franco wanted to know about his parents. He asks Julia not to tell Eladio.

Art tells Connie, Erick and Nina that he has put shares of the family company in Connie and his grandchilds name. Erick is happy. Connie does not think she should accept because it is highly likely that she is going to divorce Erick. Art still wants to give her the shares and offers her a job at the company. Erick and Nina are in shock as Connie happily accepts.

Eladio tells Julia that he talked to a therapist so they can go to couples therapy. She is semi-stunned. Eladio wants to know if Julia ever believed that he actually killed TheRat. She beleived that it was unintentional. She had come to beleive that Eladio had argued with TheRat and that it was an accident because Eladio cannot control himself when he gets angry. (Maybe he needs a Snickers bar). He says he will work on his anger issues and tells her what really happened that night. In a flashback, Eladio tells Callo to go back to TheRat's apartment and for her to give him the keys to the apartment and car. She can take everything, but she needs to leave the country. Back to the present Eladio tells Julia he told that to Callao to that he wouldn't have anymore problems with Julia because of TheRat. She says she believes him and that actions speak louder than words. She's going to the foundation, but Eladio wants her to call as soon as she arrives.

Art will find an area of the company where Connie can work. Erick is not happy about his father's decision, but pretends to love the idea then abruptly leaves. Art knows that Erick is not happy. Connie leaves the table and Nina wants to know why Art is making decisions without consulting her first. Art reminds her that she signed over her rights to him to represent her shares. She's not going to let him give away her children's inheritance. She tells him to tell Auggie that she wants those representation rights back for her shares of the company.

Franco gets a hold of some paperwork that shows no death certificate for Caridad Herrera.

Dani wakes up in a strange bed, with what looks like cocaine on the nightstand and next to a guy that is either passed out or dead.

Regina and David sing Las Mananitas to Miguel and give him some birthday gifts.

Dani can't wake up her new bed pal. She needs to call someone, but who?

Franco needs to find out whether or not Caridad Herrera is alive. He will have to wait a few more days.

Miguel leaves Regina and David to pick up his new glasses. Regina goes to the ladies room. David gets a call from Dani. She needs his help.

Franco tells Marintia that his mother might be alive.

Dani begs David to help her. She partied the night before and woke up in a hotel with a strange guy that she thinks might be dead. She doesn't want to go to jail like Erick. Regina comes back to the table and gets on the phone. Dani asks for her help. David and Regina are on their way.

While in the garden, Nina talks to a girlfriend over the phone. She spies Connie and Miguel talking. They hug and Nina sees it the wrong way. She gives Miguel a birthday gift. A photo album with pics of his mother.

Gisela shows up at the GomezLuna house and tells Julia that Eladio gives her a monthly check to help her out, but she hasn't collected this month because she's been sick.

Eladio clears up with Santiago what was going on at the construction site. Santiago wants proof, but Franco says that David has those papers and he has yet to arrive at the office.

Efrain calls Eladio to tell him about a strange woman, Gisela, that arrived at the house and is talking to Julia. Gisela gets up to leave, but then semi-faints into Efrain's arms.

Eladio says he has to go home, but will have those documents soon. Santiago leaves. Eladio orders Franco to locate David.

Art congratulates Miguel on his birthday and they look at the photo album together.

David and Regina arrive at the hotel with Dani. She is freaking out!

Gisela is now sitting at a table in the garden outside the GomezLuna house when Eladio arrives.

David finds a pulse on Dani's new bed pal. He carries him to the shower. Regina gets after Dani for being irresponsible. Dani gets upset because Regina called Augustin for help.

Eladio gives Gisela a bundle of cash and accompanies her out, but warns her to never show up again. After she leaves Eladio tells Callao to keep an eye on her and to be prepared because he has plans for her. Efrain tells Eladio that when Gisela showed up, she first asked for Franco.

Augustin has arrived at the hotel. Dani is freaking out. Augustin tells David to take the girls out of the room. They go to the parking garage. Regina tells Dani that she doesn't want to find Dani in a hotel one day, passed out like her bed pal. David gets a call from his father. He needs those documents now. David says he's on his way.

Gaby walks in on Franco getting a massage from Marintia. She claims that Franco injured his shoulder getting some archives. Gaby wants to take him to the doctor. Eladio shows up and wants to know what's up? Gaby explains the situation, and Eladio tells Franco to go to the doctor, but he says that the pain is lamost gone. Gaby is upset and tells him to call her if he feels more pain because she can help him more than the secretary and she leaves. David shows up and then Dani loudly makes her presence known. Dani says that David was late because he went to help her after she had a car accident. Eladio insists that his chauffer take the ladies home.

Julia and Gaby arrive at the fundation to a rose filled office and her cellphone. Now she feels guilty for seeing Art at the beach. Unfortunately, Gramps rolls in and hears Julia. He clears out his nurse and Gaby. He scolds Julia for having been with Art at the beach.

Eladio asks Franco why Gisela went looking for him at the house. He has no idea. Eladio demands that Franco have no contact with Gisela. Eladio leaves the office. Franco is now sure that Gisela knows something about his past.

Julia explains that nothing happened with Art. Gramps doesn't believe her but won't tell Eladio anything because he doesn't want to get kicked out or lose his privledges. He will do whatever it takes to get Art out of Julia's life again. He tells her to remember what Art did to her all those 20+ years ago.

Franco pays off the reporter.

Regina and Dani talk to Augustin. The bed pal, named Pedro, is alive. Dani swears not to do it again. Auggie wants Dani to tell her father what happened.

Eladio and David meet with the paid off reporter. The reporter says what David needs to hear and everything is A-OK.

Gramps goes to the Montenegro mansion to talk with Art, but gets Nina instead. He tells Nina to take care of her husband. He came there to tell Art to stay away from Julia. He won't let Art ruin his daughter;s marriage.

Morning Patio Peeps,
I did my best to summarize the 3 episode, 2-hour show. Let me know if I left out anything important or got anything wrong. Also let me know if there are any anonymous comments that need to be removed. I need to get some sleep.

Please enjoy...
Hasta Pronto!

Sleep well, AuntyAnn! Well done!

Wow. This episode(s) was packed with action. I was cheering Franco on as he searched for info on his origins. Any day now he'll know the truth. And I think we all can guess which reformed prisoner will end up working for Julia.

It was funny how many times Eladio had to ask that the truth about something not be told to Julia or David. It's hard to pretend to be a good guy. :)

Will Dani change her attitude towards them now that Gina, David, and Augustin rushed to save her bacon from possible major scandal and even jail time, and Gina told her how much she loves her? Nah! She'll be hating on them and badmouthing them, and trying to steal David, by next episode.

It's ironic that the union leader Eladio paid off to screw over Art with the strike, ends up screwing over Eladio by skimming money and buying sub-par materials. Eladio shouldn't be surprised. He already knew first-hand that the guy was shady.

Also ironic that he has to pay off the reporter, that he had paid off to accuse Erick of murder, to say he hadn't been paid off.

Oh, and in addition to learning Franco arrived to the house when he was near three years old, we also learn he's three months younger than David.

Thank you, AuntyAnn! This was just the amount of detail we needed – perfect!

"(Maybe he needs a Snickers bar)"
Hahaha! Maybe he does.

I find it hard to cheer for Franco the weasel, especially as he exploits Julia's kindness and Gaby's (inexplicable) love for him.

Pale lips on Nina. This is getting serious, folks.

Many thanks for a comprehensive recap, AuntyAnn! You didn't miss a beat of this action-packed triple bill of PyP. It must have been exhausting to recount all the details and still manage to slip us a few snarky asides :)

Just a small rectification if you'd allow me: What Franco let slip, accidentally on purpose, in front of David was that Eladio needs to review the press article ("nota") that he paid for to slander Erick. And when David lashes out at Eladio, Franco feigns that he's setting things right for his padrino by clarifying that what they paid for was "the right of reply" ("el derecho de réplica") because the press usually says it offers it but is reluctant to give it. Eladio pretends that the reporter invented declarations that he never gave and Franco will now be paying for a retraction. So as Vivi rightly pointed out, now the only periodista in Mexico City will be paid again to refute what he was paid to publish in the first place.

Eladio is juggling so many different lies while shoving a bunch of skeletons back into their respective closets and he's simultaneously trying (feigning) to redeem himself with his family but without losing his conniving edge in business or his frightening capacity to intimidate... Something's gotta give and very soon! Everything's gonna crash down real soon and the anvils will start raining on his head. Can't wait!

Chimp Boy and his expensive shirt may be free but this isn't the last we hear about Montse's death investigation. The flashbacks we got raise more questions than they answer. The timeline is kept deliberately vague so the usual suspects are not out of the woods yet (though Erick still tops my list).

All in all, great happenings in these episodes. Funniest moments: Chimp Boy slapping the glasses off Miguel's smug face, Gisela's shenanigans at Casa Gómez Luna, Humberto's sneaky wheeling making him privy to crucial information and, last but not least, Eladio flipping out at the foreman in Tabasco and scolding Franco then Marintia in the GLA offices ("¡Chin!" has now dethroned "¡Caray!" as my favorite Mexican interjection. Thanks Eladio!)

Cringeworthy moment: Eladio's little intimidation number with the envelope supposedly containing Franco's past. This is the first time I actually felt heartbroken for the poor weasel.

Gracias otra vez, AuntyAnn. Que descanses :)

Let's not forget Miguel's new, flattering, LIFE-CHANGING glasses. Now that he is no longer afflicted with CrazyEyes, these wonderfully superficial characters will be forced to think of him differently. (And all thanks to Chimp Boy's snit!)

WOW Thank you for a Herculean recap AA. It must have been a full moon, as Lichita was on steroids also last night. Thank You again.

I liked Gaby's little "that was fast" comment when Franco's shoulder healed itself right before her, Eladio and Marintia's eyes. She smells (another :-)) rat but is purposely being 'nose blind'. She is such a sweet girl, hopefully she will become disconnected from Franco when he finds out about his Mom and Dad and goes into a low earth orbit.

Lines of coke on a mirror, a syringe on the floor, Dani is flirting with disaster. Augustin's mention of a 'very strong' drug makes me think the syringe had heroine in it. Nice Dani. Heroine is making a helluva comeback here in South Florida. It will be interesting to see if Dani just walks away as though she just had a slice of too-spicy pizza. That's not real life.

Oh, and one more thing. Franco and Chump Boy both must be visiting the Genomma Lab Kiosk for some Cicatricure, as their injuries look like they were hit by a Mack truck one day, and they look like Barbara Bermundo the next day.

Gracias, AuntyAnn,

They seem to have cut these scenes:

Arturo's secretary showed him a purchase requisition from Daniela for more expensive coffee, cookies, and other stuff. She leaves it with him just before Daniela shows up. He doesn't lose his cool but tries to tell her that this is not a game and she needs to take work seriously.

There was probably detail missing about Daniela trying to wake Pedro up after ending the call to David. She also handled the syringe, which means her prints will be on it.

Arturo and Miguel went to the cemetery so he could put flowers at Susanna's tomb. Art talks about how his relationship with her improved during the pregnancy and he did care for her.

After Regina and Daniela were dropped off at home when Regina got on her case for carrying on in front of Eladio. Daniela plays her usual "Nobody cares about me" record again and snarks back about David. Regina tells her to stay away from him.

We know she won't and her calling David for this was very deliberate.

A wee detail: Daniela was sweaty when she came to. She may have used ecstasy which that article will explain is more popular with girls than with boys. Law & Order episodes often talk about it being dangerous in combination with other drugs and alcohol.

Urban, thanks for those extra details cut from this episode. I am sure that one of the things Augustin took care of, in addition to getting the paramedics, was cleaning up the room. We did get to see the needle and Dani handling it. I'm inclined to believe she did the coke and pills on her side of the bed, while the guy did whatever was in the needle (heroine), plus the booze they both drank. Yeah, I noticed she was sweaty too when she woke up.

Wonderful recap! I could only stay up for the first hour so it looks like I missed some good stuff.

Urban thanks for the cut scenes. The one with Daniela's prints sounds important so I'm surprised they cut it.

Callao was one of my suspects in the Ratt's death. Did the flashback show him leave? Is it possible he still did it?

When Connie stated that Erick didn't do it, my first thought was that means she did it. After all that Erick has done to her she should think him capable of anything. I'm definitely in the Connie did it camp.

Don't like Nina but I do feel bad for her.

-- A triple dose of quotes from the triple capítulo --

“Hasta el momento, no hemos recabado las suficientes pruebas para dictaminar la culpabilidad de alguien. El tiempo que otorga la ley para la recabación de pruebas ha terminado. Es por eso que al Señor Erick Montenegro se le va a poner en libertad” *

* A detective making a press statement about Chimp Boy’s release: “Until now, we have not gathered enough evidence to pronounce anybody guilty. The time allowed by law for the collection of evidence has now ended. That is why Mr. Erick Montenegro is being released.”

Recabar = to gather, to collect.

Prueba = proof, evidence.

Dictaminar = (legal term) to rule, to pronounce, to emit a judgement.

Otorgar = to grant, to bestow.

-----------------------------------------------

“Se agotó el tiempo para la recabación de pruebas. Pero lo bueno para ti es que los resultados no han arrojado nada contundente en contra de nadie.” *

* Franco informing his padrino why Erick was released: “The time period for evidence collection ran out. But the good news for you is that the results did not produce anything conclusive against anyone.”

Agotarse = to end, to run out.

Recabación de pruebas = collection of evidence.

Arrojar = (in this context) to produce, to generate.

Contundente = overwhelming, conclusive (proof).

-----------------------------------------------

“Qué te dije desde un principio? Que no trataras con ella! Que no cruzes palabra! Si te pregunta, no le contestas; si te busca, no estás! Sí, estás entendiendo, verdad? (Turns to Marintia who’s bringing his coffee) Y tú, tarde, para variar! Inútil! Tarde! Ya no lo quiero! Hazte a un lado, voy a salir! (Comes back for the folder he left on the desk and mumbles) Chin! Ya se me olvidó... (Then leaves in a huff)” *

* Eladio scolding Franco for talking with Gisela: “What did I tell you from the get-go? That you don’t interact with her! That you don’t talk to her! If she asks you something, you don’t answer; if she looks for you, you’re not here! You do understand what I’m saying, right? (Turns to Marintia who’s bringing his coffee) And you, late, for a change! Good-for-nothing! Late! I don’t want it anymore! Get out of the way, I’m going out! (Comes back for the folder he left on the desk and mumbles) Dammit! I forgot... (Then leaves in a huff)”

Desde un principio = from the beginning, from the get-go.

Tratar con alguien = to deal with, to interact with someone.

Cruzar palabra(s) con alguien = to speak to, to exchange words with someone.

Inútil = useless, good-for-nothing.

Hacerse a un lado = to step aside, to move out of the way.

Chin! = a cleaner interjection that uses only the first syllable of the many colorful variations that the F-word has in Mexico.

They might show the Art-Miguel cemetery scene in tonight's episode because in yesterday's comments I mentioned that Erick asked to change cells having seen it in the unedited Episode 49 (I watch the Mexican broadcast online), only to discover that you guys got it at the start of the episode mashup that AuntyAnn kindly recapped. Some scenes also seem to be in different order.
Anyway, I was going to share a quote from the cemetery scene today but I figured I'd wait just in case Uni adds it to the recompilation they'll air tonight. If not, I'll look up a video of the scene because it's a very endearing father-son moment.

I am guessing that Arturo will hear about this tonight. This will be one more delay in his attempt to divorce Nina. Augustin's speculation on what Nina might do with her shares will probably end up a prophecy of future business trouble for Arturo just as Franco's investigation will bring future family trouble for Julia.

I also don't believe a word Eladio says about getting therapy. If he makes the excuse that a DNA test would make him look foolish, how can he make anyone believe that he is willing to see a shrink? He also had talked with David about having been born poor and having a strict father. That is often a disguised way of saying he was abusive. If we can believe this then he probably abused his wife the same way that Eladio abuses Julia who -- after a lifetime of being told that everything is her fault -- can be easily convinced that she never gave him a chance.

-- Carvivlie: The flashback shows Eladio talking to El Callao in the car. That's all we got. Also in both of the flashbacks we got, there was no indication of who went into the apartment after whom. They kept the timeline fuzzy, so we can keep doubting all the usual suspects.

I’m glad to hear that in addition to the album Connie put together, Art actually did something meaningful and spent some time with Miguel on his birthday.

Urban- I definitely think things are going to work out as Augustin predicted with the family split in the company. We’ll have shareholders Art/Gina/Miguel at odds with Nina/Dani/Erick, and Connie with her shares will be the swing vote. Nina and Erick will have to kiss Connie’s butt to get her to vote along with them. I was happy to see Connie staying firm with Erick, and loved how sick he and Nina looked when they learned she’s getting company shares AND will be working there too. This makes things much more interesting with that dynamic.

It seems lately that Eladio has started to believe that David is his son. Surely, Julia’s support of David and Gina being an item should have put that doubt to rest in his mind. Or does he really think Julia would let her son commit incest?

I'll just be glad to see Connie out of the house and out of her robes.

Thanks Nandicta for the clarification. My dvr didn't record Tuesday night's second hour so I'm not sure I got last night's. I may have to watch online.

AuntyAnn, thanks. Terrific recap of all the goings-ons. I'm amazed at your speed and fitting it all in so smoothly.

Franco is a weasel with Gaby, but I feel for him. How different would things have been between Franco and David if Eladio had behaved like a true father to both boys growing up?

Miguel comments that maybe now he'll learn which sends Erick into wacko mode and he punches Miguel and breaks his glasses. Miguel's crack to Erick was not something you say to an innocent person [I don't think Erick did it] who's just released from an obvious beatdown behind bars.

Pale lips on Nina. This is getting serious, folks. NovelaMaven, so true. I'm feeling sorry for Nina. Plus, she had every right to visit her son in jail against Art's order. And I also don't blame her for noticing that Miguel and Connie hug each other way too much.

Funniest moment: The barely hidden sour look on Erick's face when Arturo offered Connie a job at the company. I wouldn't want to work for Art -- way too much nepotism. The only Montenegro who'd get a job on merit alone is Regina. At least Eladio makes sure his sons have some skills for their jobs.

So Art is just now putting shares in Miguel's name, really?

Urban, thanks for the missing scenes. Too bad they cut where Art and Miguel's visited Susanna's grave. Nandicta, I hope they do show it tonight.

This comment has been removed by the author.

Niecie- I don't think in that scene Art mentioned putting shares in Miguel's name. I think he only mentioned giving shares to his grandchild and Connie. Perhaps someone with access to their recording can double check.

Vivi, Eladio always knew. If David were not his son he would have found a way to get rid of him permanently by now, which would have really killed Julia because -- another fact learned last night -- she couldn't have any more children. He took Franco to have his "spare."

Narcissists are serious manipulators with distinct patterns of behavior depending on the target:

Nina: Uses sex to manipulate men, mind games on other women, and guilt on her children (the latter sometimes for the right reasons).
Daniela: Sex to manipulate guys her own age, mind games on female peers, being the screw-up baby of the family on her immediate family.
Eladio: Charm on clients, mind games on family, force on male peers
Humberto: Imagined authority due to his age on G-L household, mind games on Julia and Gabriela. The latter is not falling for it anymore.
Erick: Mind games on Consuelo, helpless little boy number on Nina (who created this monster) and Arturo (who doesn't fall for it anymore), force on male peers
Monserrat (RIP): Sex on men, mind games on other women.

After tonight Daniela's act should no longer work on her parents. Only death or being in a coma could prevent Augustin from telling Arturo about this. Nina might not care whom Daniela sleeps with but I'm sure even she would be concerned about drug use although I expect her to go into denial about the need for rehab now.

Niecie, I think Miguel's job is also on merit. He's a competent IT pro and a comp-sci teacher. Erick and Daniela are nepotism.

Um. When chicks do ecstacy I don't think they wake up dressed. :-)
Very good eyes everyone. I noticed how sweaty she was too. Just disgusting.

Great job, AuntyAnn. You seem to have captured all of the important details of this episode in such an entertaining fashion including this little tidbit:

"Gaby tells Julia about a program where you can hire rehabilitated women from jail."

Well how convenient is this? Looks like Caridad will be coming to work at the foundation replacing someone named Reina.

Carlos

Kirbo, You're right about Daniela flirting with epic disaster IF she keeps on playing with fire!

The only reason Dani woke up half-dressed is because Pedro passed out before he could rise to the occasion. ;)

I had to say something about Humberto and it's that he's playing a very nasty game. What he just did is going to have multiple rows of dominoes falling:

-- Possible cat-fight between Nina and Julia (yes, gentlemen, I know you're all waiting for that)
-- Major fight between Nina and Arturo. She may hit the divorce lawyer's office and file first with the intent of taking Arturo to the cleaners
-- Major fight between Eladio and Arturo right after Eladio's false promises about no more hostilities with him
-- Difficulties between David and Regina

After this little stunt of his I would thoroughly cheer Julia if she were to send him down those stairs because this will bring on more of Eladio's abuse. However, the more likely person to finish him off would be Franco because he is the latest victim. I would totally give him a pass over that.

Vivi, I hope it's true that Art had already given Miguel shares. Otherwise, he's been an even crappier father than I thought.

Urban, I had forgotten that Miguel also works for his father. Miguel is hardly ever at the office. Miguel can do his work well remotely at home, but his dad, knowing his eldest son could use more social skills, should encourage him to come out to the office more. Uh-oh, I just realized that since Connie will be working for the company, Miguel will no longer need prodding to come out.

After all these years of being treated like a brainless scumbag by Eldaddio, WHEN, not if, Franco finds out Eldaddio is his bio pop, there will be fireworks. Can't wait.

I have never really understood the angle on that. In many cases of a secret son, people are perplexed why a man treats a boy so well. "OMG you would think he was his son or something.", rather than making him grovel in the dirt every flipping day of his miserable life.

Eladio appears to have had an epiphany with Julia and David in Vallarta, but I wonder if it is partially genuine, or just an act.

Nandicta,

" Arturo just discovered his son's existence after Julia reappeared in his life, so please let’s stop picking on poor Art, he is doing the best parenting he can!"

Heh heh!

Carlos

If Franco comes to see Julia at the Foundation and sees Caridad this will explode like fireworks on Independence Day, Guy Fawkes Day, Mardi Gras, and the Super Bowl. He will be livid over Eladio's treatment of him, Caridad will be angry that he took her son away, Julia will be livid over the deception (She could use this as grounds for divorce), and this could open up an investigation.

I have suspected for some time that Eladio killed Caridad's husband and framed her for the crime so he could take Franco. He delayed her release from prison because he overestimated the possibility that she would die there. That might be hard to prove now but it would be satisfying.

Getting back to the Rat's death, I think that Callao was the one she saw on the balcony. There is the possibility that she dropped dead from a bad drug interaction and/or overdose and he threw her over the balcony for insurance. Between 3 and 4AM there was little likelihood of eyewitnesses

Aunty Ann, so many thanks. I just can't stay through all of this every night, and I thank our recappers sooooo much for helping us fill in.

I had been wondering why hadn't been looking her beauty queen selve lately, like makeup artists were doing something, and the fact she is not only using drugs, but high level ones that can wreak havoc on user's in how they look physically fairly soon explains it. I had thought they would go down the road of alcholism early on with her, but this seems more true to form for someone who hangs with a fast, rich crowd. My guess is that she will hit some rock bottom or have a bad episode which will send Nina in a tail-spin ( that's her little clone after all) and Artie feeling he has to stick with the family and park Julia.

Honestly, the way she gushed all over Eladio with his promises and smooth talk last night made me wonder if she's firing on all cylindrs. Too me she looked like she believed him and was all happy happy. Has she not gone down this road before?

Seriously, Eladio is going to push Humberto down the stairs. I just know it, and that may the one time I truly cheer on this guy.

Daisynjay

Sorry, my Kindle literally left out the names. So was talking about Dani on the drugs and Julia on the Eladio gushing. Sure sign I need to go back to work.

Daisynjay

UA,

"There is the possibility that she dropped dead from a bad drug interaction and/or overdose and he threw her over the balcony for insurance."

If this is the case, of course as you know, the autopsy will demonstrate that fact.

"Between 3 and 4AM there was little likelihood of eyewitnesses"

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by this, her body almost landed on the giant rabbit and the weirdly wigged girl he was kissing on. Weren't there others in the parking lot as well?

Carlos

Thanks, AuntyAnn for recapping all the madness that two hours held.

QTH???...I just could not take my eyes from the screen as Dani caterwauled and bounced around that room. What did the director say to her? Was that a hissyfit?..a trantrum? My favorite part was when she poked and prodded at the guy before finally hurtling water on him from the two bottles. I wonder what the actor got paid for that ? Mesmerizingly bad performance that was supposed to be intense...I guess. I cannot even . Well, I may be recreating that scene at my four hour meeting tonight. Boo

(I've been told to repost this with a slight amend. Apologies to all for the duplication)

-- NovelaMaven: I may be in the minority here but I liked Miguel’s old glasses. I doubt that the life-altering new glasses will take away his creepiness or the inappropriateness of his vying for his brother’s wife.

-- Kirbo: Funny, I thought the same about the magically disappearing bruises. I figured Franco and Erick must have soaked in a barrel of Arnica for two consecutive nights.

-- Carvivlie: You’re welcome! If you want I can email you what you've missed and I’m happy to clarify / translate any dialogue you’re unsure of. As regards your suspicions of Connie, I’m not sure someone as skinny and short as her can win in a fight with the mighty RatHo but then again the poor rodent was drugged off her head so we never know!

-- UA: I too suspect that Eladio’s description of his father was a thinly veiled allusion at the violent abuse he may have endured as a child. Especially the way he described his dad as “un miserable” (a mean-spirited, wretched man). As you rightly pointed out, some victims of abuse tend to reproduce the same patterns later with their spouses and children. As to Eladio’s sincerity about therapy, I personally can never read him, so I can’t tell. It does look like another ploy but it may be a ploy that turns out genuinely helping him if he does go through with it. Then again, this guy is so conniving and fickle, nothing he does will ever surprise me!

-- Niecie: “So Art is just now putting shares in Miguel's name, really?” Well, Arturo just discovered his son's existence after Julia reappeared in his life, so please let’s stop picking on poor Art, he is doing the best parenting he can!

-- Vivi: You are right. Arturo did not mention Miguel’s shares in front of the kids at the breakfast table. Regina knows because she was in the room when Arturo announced to Miguel that he’d be giving him shares of Grupo Montenegro as a birthday gift and Nina knows because she was eavesdropping on a conversation between Art and Auggie in the study.

-- Carlos: “Looks like Caridad will be coming to work at the foundation replacing someone named Reina.” Great observation. Looks like Franco’s jailbird Mama will soon be jumping into the messy mix that is La Familia Gómez Luna.

-- Steve: If this incident doesn’t scare Dani into getting on the straight and narrow, I don’t know what will!

Connie may be small but she is in Mama Bear mode, like lifting a car off a kid mode, so I could totally see her being able to push a drunk/drugged Ratt, mostly likely wearing stilettos, over a railing.

So Miguel is just receiving shares of the company now? For his birthday? No wonder Nina thought it was okay to treat him bad because Art had already been treating him second-rate from the start.

I think Erick deserves every witty, clever line Miguel can come up with to piss him off.

Humberto is definitely skating on thin ice with Eladio at the moment. Tonight we should find out if his latest little stunt makes that better or worse for him.

-- Carvivlie: You definitely have a point there. In the heat of the moment and with the mixture of pregnancy hormones, adrenaline and vengeful thoughts coursing through her, Consuelo could indeed have turned into a mini-Hulk!

Great AuntyAnn really appreciate this. For me it's too much to remember and thanks for doing it for me.

Wow, Miguel's momma was pretty and wonder if she knew Art was bout to marry or was she fooled?

Daniela now knows stoned random hook ups deliver your real crush to the door and infatuation may morph to obsession.

Gosh, wished Franco tried a bit harder and less obvious clipping David in front of Eladio. It's beginning to make Eladio look stupid.

Ain't that sweet of Connie. Hope Chimp Boy doesn't believe her tripe she did it for the unborn child. Nope, she did it for love.

So I wore old cat woman glasses as a child and teased unmercifully finally getting contacts going into 8th grade and BAM I made the cheerleading squad and considered hot overnight. Miguel....sorry.

AuntyAnn, thank you for the detailed recap - I can only imagine how hard a two hour episode would be to recap. Awesome summary!

Surprised something finally got to Dani. I didn't think much would rattle her. I doubt she has learned her lesson. Neither has her brother.

I'm disliking Arturo less and less. I'm kind of hoping Nina takes him to the cleaners. Is that wrong?

Great comments today.

Diana

Miguel's mother was pretty, more like Julia than Nina.

Neither Dani nor Erick will change. No more than Eladio will.

Auntie Ann, thanks for the Herculean effort, I've read your recap once, and I'm going to read it again, there were so many great details, you illuminated the intense/compact/ three capitulos dialogue.

"While in the garden, Nina talks to a girlfriend over the phone," There was something about that conversation that led me to think that they might be bringing in a new character, wonder who?

The "good guys" Regina and David didn't call an ambulance for the unconscious guy in Dani's bed, they should have. I'm disappointed in them.

Nandicta, thanks for the translations, love them and can use them.

I also wonder why they didn't call an ambulance or demand to know why Dani didn't. She is more than old enough to know better.

Thanks AuntyAnn for yet another job.
Wow, there's a lot going into these three episode nights. And even with that, there is still a lot cut out. I'll blast Univision again on their website.

Maybe he needs a Snickers bar. Good one AuntyAnn.

Thanks for all of the extra stuff that was filled in for us on the patio.

Consuelo says that Erick is innocent. How would she know that? Did the mouse push the drunken rat over the balcony or was that statement just an assumption by Consuelo? We still don't know where Consuelo went in the white Jeep that night.

Callao is still a top suspect for me. Did Eladio change his mind after he told Montse to take her things and get out and tell Callao to off her?

Vivi---I agree with your 7:34 comment. Dani isn't going to change.

LOL NovelaMaven---Pale lips on Nina. It's getting serious.

Kirbo---Will Dani just walk away as though she just had a slice of too-spicy pizza?
Probably. I don't think that anything can change her. She freaked out last night but just give her a week or so and she will be out to party on down again.

Kirbo again---Your Genomma Lab and Barbara Bermuda comment was hilarious but it was probably true because Franco and Erick sure seemed to heal fast.

Connie may now have the swing vote. That could be interesting.

I think that Humberto has just stirred uo the hornets nest last night. Can't wait for tonight.

must see tv
the gringo

I think when Regina and David got there, they had no idea what they were headed into. They immediately assessed that the guys WAS breathing and then got to work reviving him with a cold shower. Regina had already called Augustin, who seems to have also arrived pretty much immediately and he told them he had already called a trusted doc/paramedic. So I don't think there was a ton of time that went without them getting Dani's bedmate medical attention.

Vivi, Dani told them there was a guy that wouldn't wake up or words to that effect. They should have told her to call an ambulance. This was not a situation for a stupid (my thoughts) lay person. Time is of the essence in situations like these.

The way I viewed it, they were in (Eladio) cover up mode. The ushered themselves out of the door before officials arrived.

That's what I don't like about this. Augustin should have called an ambulance right away and gotten the guy to the hospital. In his place I would have found out who he was and notified his parents or other family.

-- Sandy: You're very welcome and I'm pleased you find them of use. :)
Good observation about a possible introduction of a new character. I believe Nina could use a loyal sidekick at this crucial juncture in her life. However, this phone interlocutor could just be Nina's "Looliss (sp?)". You see, in the first weeks of PyP, Dani could be seen yakking away on the phone and sharing mean gossip with a certain "Looliss". Those scenes used to make me chuckle and I really looked forward to seeing Looliss but she was never introduced to us :(
As for the scene with the near-comatose guy, I too was very disappointed that all the "good guys", Auggie included, were more interested in covering up for Dani than saving the guy's life. When someone's life is in danger you call emergency services first and foremost. Just goes to show that every single character in PyP is flawed, perhaps with the exception of Luisita and Simona. (Petra is a meddler and a gossip but she's adorable!)

-- Susanlynn: I usually like the actress who plays Dani but I have to admit that she dropped the ball in that scene. All that screeching and hopping around she did made me wince! The guy playing dead however was really good at playing dead; I for one was impressed! Actually, when the camera first showed him I thought he was Joshua, Regina's ex-fiancé; his name keeps showing up in the opening credits so I thought he made a comeback as a corpse.

Thanks so much AuntyAnn. This was perfect.

"Erick cries on his expensive, blood-stained shirt while in jail. The guard moves him to another cell."

Hahaha! So true. He was such a crybaby and was just asking for another beating. He's lucky he got out because he wouldn't be able to survive a prison term.

Can't believe had another three episodes in the two hours. Why does Univision always do this? Will they ever show a complete novela without cuts?

There was so much going on. The Daniela thing caught me by surprise. Wasn't expecting it. Hope that she learns her lesson about partying too much and taking pills from someone that she doesn't know. The druggie is lucky to have survived this.

Glad that Miguel got new glasses. He looks better with them than with the previous ones. First time I liked Erick was when he broke those other glasses.

Oh, and loved David's present to Miguel: a bag of science fiction movies on DVD.

Sandy- True. They went there primarily thinking of getting Dani out of that situation, not about what to do for the unconscious/dead guy. But even if they had told her to call an ambulance, she would not have. She was a mess, and obviously needed other people to get there and take control of the situation.

It reminds me of a time when I was studying abroad in Ecuador in college. I and two other American girls, and one of their (Ecuadorian) boyfriends Alvaro, were hanging out, drinking coffee, making mixed cds, laughing, talking, late into the night. Alvaro went to the bathroom, we kept having fun. After a LONG time we realized he hadn't come back, and the water was running in the bathroom. We go in and find him unconscious on the floor, blood coming from his head where he had hit it against the sink when he fainted (he had health issues related to Lupus and should NOT have been ingesting so much caffeine). We rush to my friend's host parents' bedroom (they were upper class Ecuadorians) telling them Alvaro had passed out. They rush to the bathroom with us. They see it's not their SON Alvaro, as they had assumed, but another Alvaro. Their attitude changed. There was no sense of urgency. They simply revived him with cold water, and then almost begrudgingly offered him a ride home. No ambulance. No nothing. We three Americans were totally shocked. Still can't figure out what seems to be a callous attitude towards those who are not family or family friends. From our point of view, they had a responsibility to a young person (college kid) in their home who was having a health crisis. But they obviously didn't see it that way.

-- Vivi: Thanks for sharing that story with us. It is odd and upsetting when people are reluctant to help in these situations. If they don't do it for moral reasons then they should at least be motivated by a desire to avoid legal problems. Isn't there a law that penalizes the failure to assist a person in danger? I think there is a version of it in most countries.

There is such a law in the US, but I'm not sure about elsewhere. I've actually heard that US law is so complicated that lawyers from other countries are aghast.

This lack of concern for those "not of our blood" is something that makes me shake my head. Makes me wonder how any child ever gets adopted. This may also point to one motive for Franco's relentless pursuit of his origins. It's a natural thing to want to know and I can't wait to see what he does when he finds out.

Yes Vivi, your scenario is what frightens parents of college students everywhere. We need to take into account the "youth" factor as well...Dani was completely out of control, and is too selfish to put the "dead" guy first.

Hey Everyone,
Thanks for all the great and entertaining comments today.
And a big thank you to Vivi, NovelaMaven, Nandicta and Urban for clearing up and adding some scenes that were left out. I greatly appreciate your help.

I do not believe Eladio wanting to go to therapy. I am glad that Franco is discovering his past. I think Franco knows Eladio better than anyone, including Julia. No spoiler here, but I think Franco will be Eladio's downfall in the end. I can't wait til Caridad starts working at the foundation, because we all know that is what will happen.

I too hope that Dani has learned her lesson, but I fear that she will have to hit rock bottom (like a near death experience) to wake up.

Julia needs to wake up and get a clue about Eladio. Has she not learned anything in the past 20+ years of being married to him? I think she's staying with Eladio because she feels guilty about making out with Art in P.V.

Gotta cut this short, I have to go back to work, but keep the conversation going. It's great to read all the awesome comments.

Hasta Pronto!
p.s. I have not seen any nasty comments or spoilers so far. Cross your fingers!

RE: The nameless fellow with the lines of coke, syringe and bottle of booze.

Ever hear of the Darwin awards? Simply put if other humans do not interfere, people who should not contribute to humanities gene pool will remove themselves if left to their own devices. It works grandly in nature.

-- UA: I looked more into this law and it exists in France, ex-French colonies of North, West and Central Africa as well as the Francophone province of Québec. It is normally called "non-assistance à personne en danger" (failure to assist a person in danger) and was introduced by the Vichy Government during the Nazi occupation of France to obligate the population to help injured German soldiers. I read that it has been renamed "abstention volontaire de porter assistance à une personne en péril" (deliberate refusal to assist a person in danger) in some countries to account for cases where a person can't help because their own lives could be endangered if they intervene. A variation of this law also exists in some Latin American countries. Apparently, in the US, Canada and most English-speaking countries there is no legal obligation to assist an endangered person except in certain cases which include the doctor-patient and the parent-child relationships. "The Good Samaritan Law" was in fact created to encourage people to assist others more by protecting the Good Samaritan from legal liability in case their help results in a wrongful death.

Kirbo---Some great comments lately. I didn't know that Eladio shops at 7-11 and on ebay.

the gringo

If you read Dear Abby or any similar column there are several letters a year each from women in Julia's situation. They come from all walks of life, every social and financial class, and some endured this situation longer than she has. Many come from homes with similar abuse. Their families of origin operate under something akin to Mafia omerta which demands silence about criminal activity. There is also what the late John Bradshaw called toxic shame which translates into feeling ashamed of who you are. Abusive narcissists do this to partners and children when they don't meet expectations, which is most of the time.

This is a deadly combination.

-- Kirbo: Actually, adaptation and natural selection also explain how altruism tends to prevail in the behavior of members of the same herd. Selflessness and cooperation are paradoxically a selfish impulse because they allow both the individual and the group to flourish.

Thank you Aunty Ann for keeping me up to date 'til I can watch again, after Bajo.

I'm confused as to who got beat up, Erick or Franco & who was responsible.

Nandicta: Yaaa I know. Thanks. It sure works for ants and bees. It's just hard to feel sorry for someone with a needle hanging out of his/her arm. It is pretty much common knowledge it is not a good idea.

Franco got beat up by thugs hired by Erick in retaliation for Franco's shakedown/blackmail attempt.

Erick got beat up by his fellow jail cell inmates in retaliation for bragging about his expensive shirt and dissing them.

Variopinta: BOTH..JaJaJa. Erick got arrested for suspicion of murder of Monster Ratt. Soon as he gets in jail with a couple rough looking guys he proves he actually doe not have a brain by telling them how much better than them he is because he is a rich spoiled brat. Beatdown #1

Earlier Said brainless Erick hires two guys to beat up Franco because Franco had a picture on his phone of said brainless brat visiting the now deceased Monster Ratt and tried to blackmail him. Beatdown #2

-- Kirbo: I know. Making such glaringly stupid mistakes cannot remain without consequences and yesterday was near-comatose guy's turn to pay the piper. Still, the actor was so good at playing dead he sure got me to empathize with him.

-- Variopinta: Both numbnuts got an ass-whoopin! Franco as payback for trying to blackmail Erick with a photo showing him go into RatHo's building (when he was supposed to have broken up with her) and Chimp Boy for telling his cellmates that his shirt was worth more than their combined lives. Both had it coming, both got beat good!

AuntyAnn--Have to get in my gracias before tonight's episode. It was a no-nonsense, made sense, recap, but still full of descriptive phrases we love to ponder.

Vivi--just starting on the comments.

This has to be an instant classic, "Also ironic that he has to pay off the reporter, that he had paid off to accuse Erick of murder, to say he hadn't been paid off." Yeah, it's hard to pretend to be good when you're bad.

Loved it. Maybe we should start calling them Vivicides.

Gracias Nadicta, Kirbo y Niecie, hopefully both creeps will get beat up again, especially spoiled, entitled Erick

Nandicta--I just thought of something. Maybe Eladio is all into couples therapy to put Julia on the spot in regards to her feelings for Arturo. If she were being honest in these sessions, she'd have to ante up on that aspect, no?

-- Anita: That's quite possible too. I think if Eladio does go through a few therapy sessions one of the main issues he'll be asked to work on is his obsession with Arturo (and his obsessive need to "possess" Julia's love at any cost). Like Julia told him in Puerto Vallarta: "it seems the one who can't stop thinking about Arturo is you!" (or something to this effect). Like Kirbo pointed out earlier, Eladio did seem to experience the semblance of an epiphany in Vallarta, especially after his son confronted him about his infidelity and urged Julia to leave him. He also had come so close to losing Julia in 3 different but consecutive instances: her coma, her involvement in Montse's murder and her considering a divorce twice (before her accident and once again in Vallarta). Being on the brink of losing his wife and son made him reconsider things, if only by pretending to change until the storm subsides. I don't know how much Uni butchered the scenes of the first night the Gómez Lunas spent in Vallarta, but there were two scenes with the 3 of them, one or two with just Eladio and Julia then the father-son candid conversation at the bar. Eladio seemed sincere and at times desperate for Julia and David to grant him another opportunity. Then again, this guy can be a charmer and a manipulator when he wants to. I don't know whether he's genuinely attempting to work on his issues to keep his family together or whether it's just another ploy of his. Only time will tell.

Nandicta: There's also the possibility of Augusto (Arturo's BFF) being Montserrat's killer.

We still don't know where Miguel or Counselo went!

On Dani: I'm sensing deadly overdose in her future IF she doesn't stop.

On Purple Lips: Now she's digging up dirt on Julia. This is going to get very ugly.

Gaby: You're being played for a fool & you don't even know it!

Cardidad: I'm hoping she's kick starting the cracks in Eladio's world because she's likely going to be a major factor in his downfall.

Gisela & Humberto both will NOT be among the living because they're both pissing people off!

Steve: Purple Lips has been going to Julia's foundation to try to pry some information out of Julia. Julia is on to her scheme, because she asked her if she came to help or is this an interrogation. But Julia is to dumb to tell her "Look I know what you are up to so hit the bricks bitch."

Dani looked none the worse for wear after her near death experience. Well enough to interrupt a Regi and David smoochfest to ask him "So whose tail you like best, mine or my sisters". Little Ho.
