Yo No Creo En Los Hombes #122 Will there be any cast members left after tomorrow?
So here we go, we get about 15 minutes of repeat from Thursday. I pick up where we left off.
Clara is meeting with her pimp who is telling her that heaven is full of regretful people, so therefore, he’s going to forgive Clara and give her another opportunity to work for him, but it’s the last time. A relieved Clara thanks him. Ugh!
She asks him what exactly will she be doing. He replies that if she thinks he wants her to be a prostitute, that’s not what she will be doing. He runs a modeling agency, she would be an ‘edecanes’, a hostess, not an ‘edecarnes’, yuck, yuck, a flesh server. She’ll talk to men and whatever. Clara is looking quite sick at this moment. He hands her the business card of her new client, but before she can take it he reminds her that he gets his cut of the money for giving her the contact. He tells her to call him.
Doris, Chelito, and Corina are straightening out all of Espy’s sewing stuff in Isela's old apartment and Corina says she needs to leave to visit Espy in the hospital. Chelito will go with her. Just then Leo comes by asking what the heck is going on. Doris fills him in on why the stuff is there. Leo said he’s trying to reach Clara but she's not answering her phone. Doris tells him that she tried to stop her, but Clara ran off saying she had to get a job because they needed money so badly. Leo realizes what that probably means and they discuss the agency that she was working for. Corina knows where it is and she and Leo leave.
MD is on her mission. She wants to speak with La Pili, the one who threatened to stab her the night before. She sees her at a poker table. MD slaps down her wedding band on the table and tells Pili that she wants her to tell her everything she knows.
Pili wants more than just the ring. MD tells her that she has more money than just what the ring is worth and will pay the money to know the truth to what happened when Marta was killed.
Ursula is on the phone with Marcia asking who authorized MD to be transferred. She should be dead by now. Marcia tells her that they were going to do it but now they aren't going to transfer her. MD is being watched over carefully now. If she had been killed, they would know that she was killed on purpose. Ursula tells her that she needs to do it anyway and Marcia knows of a way but needs more time. Just then a guard comes in and Marcia tells her that they have to transfer MD right away. She doesn’t want to ruin her life for Ursula. She’s going to let her live? Yes, she replies but the guard tells her that MD is asking around for info about Marta’s death. Marcia wonders why and what she has to do with all that. The guard tells her that she’s talking to Pili right now.
Corina and Leo are talking to Clara’s pimp. He tells them that Clara is old enough to make her own decisions. Leo tells him that Clara is under-aged, but Pimp says she said otherwise. Leo demands to know the address or he’ll call the police, but Pimp isn’t telling. Corina throws the old ‘his father is a very influential man’ at him, but it doesn’t scare him. Corina drags Leo out of the office, Corina tells him that she’ll ask around on the street.
It’s nighttime now, and Claudio is waiting in his car for the kidnappers' call. Another car drives up and the other guy tells him that they will be watching for him so that they can nab the bad guys.
Pili is talking to Marcia telling her that MD is a friend of Isela, a relative of Marta. Pili told MD that it was Abuela who killed Marta. Marcia leaves with the guard and tells her that MD is friends with a relative of Marta, Guard says that they want pin this on Marcia though, but Marcia says they can try, but it won’t work.
Dan, Arango, and Victor are dining together at a restaurant. Victor spoke with the judge who is handling MD’s case and Claudio spoke with someone at the supreme court and it’s very likely that they will accept the petition to free MD. The only thing missing is the action by the public ministry. Dan says he still has to testify. Arango is confused. Does Dan now want to help free MD? Yep. But Dan called the meeting to tell them that if anything happens to him, he wants all his money to go to Melanita-Almita. But Arango wants to clarify something. Is he betraying Ursula? Dan says yes, he's doing just as Arango is doing. But Arango asks about Ivana? Dan doesn’t care about her testimony. It’s his and MD’s word against hers. And MD is going to help him? "Yes, because she thinks that it will be me who got her out of jail, not Claudio and Max. MD has decided to come back with me." He’s so happy!
Clara is at a private club with her ‘client’. He hands her a drink to relax her a bit but Clara turns it down. She asks if she could to be paid now for her time, he agrees and they go into an office. He gets her some money, but if she wants more, she can stay. He waves the money if front of her. She declines, goes to leave, but he grabs her and pulls her back into the office. Just then Corina and Leo show up. Corina acts the part that she used to play so no one will get suspicious and throw them out.
Honoria and Fermin come home late after helping with Isela and the baby. Fermin laments about the plight of Esperanza, MD and Clara. If Julian were alive today, he wouldn’t like to see any of this and would do everything possible to help. Honoria looks like it's sinking in.
Monterrubio is walking through a parking garage to his car when he’s accosted by a bad guy with a gun. The surveillance camera is taped over so no recording of this. He gets in the car with him.
Claudio gets the call from the kidnappers. Info is exchanged.
MD is taken to Abuela. She doesn’t like her sticking her nose where she doesn’t belong, so she is going to cut it off. MD is recharged with all of her hating on men now, so she’s not scared a bit. MD gets right up in her face and asks if this is what Abuela did to Marta. Abuela sits down saying that's what everyone thinks, but it’s not true. MD wants to know the truth. Was it Marcia, who was in charge of this section back then? Why does MD want to know so badly? Because she’s friends of the family and Claudio Bustamonte wants to get to the bottom of this too. Abuela says that’s funny because he and Monterrubio were the ones who put her in jail in the first place, and then they ordered Marcia to kill her.
Corina continues to work it, but she has to work harder at keeping Leo calm and quiet so they don’t get kicked out. She figures they are in one of the rooms. Just then, Leo hears Clara screaming for perv to get off of her, Leo busts into the room and they leave with her. Once out, Clara promises to never do that again.
The guy who kidnapped Monterrubio has taken him somewhere abandoned and roughs up a head covered Monterrubio sitting on a chair with his hands tied behind him. He pulls the bag off of his head, and he looks up to see a still bloodied faced Josefa in front of him. She holds up a picture of Marta and tells him that he’s going to pay for what he did to her. To pay for all her sleepless nights, all the hits she gave Isela because of what he did. He’s now on the floor being held down, and she stabs him, or it seems like she did, we don’t get to witness exactly what she’s doing, with all her might in the gut. He screams. She lays the bloody knife on Marta’s picture and walks away saying that she knows he won’t say anything about this because if he does, all the world will know what he’s done to her daughter and about all the young girls he's abused. I can’t really feel too sorry for him. Bad me.
Claudio drives to the meeting place. He gets a call to get put the money across the street. He will get his son after they get the money. The policeman is in the car with him. He tells Claudio that if anything funny happens, he might have to shoot and it will be dangerous. Claudio tells him to not let anything happen to his son.
Doris is leaving but Orlando wanted to have dinner with her. She tells him she’s tired and she needs to still go to the hospital to see Espy. Orlando tells her that he loves her and misses her, they kiss, it gets hot and heavy then on the couch, but the awake, wet, and probably hungry, reality of their lives starts to cry and Orlando needs to attend to her. Doris leaves.
Wow! I didn’t see this coming. Josefa walks into the police station. She says: I have to turn myself in. I just castrated a man. Double Wow! The policeman tells her that this is very serious. She’s not done. She continues: I also robbed and destroyed a mechanics garage and I threw my granddaughter over a second story railing. I’m confessing my guilt for all those things. The camera then pans to her bag she’s holding with her bloody hand. I don’t know what that means, but it must be significant.
Claudio walks down the street toward the kidnappers holding up a blindfolded Max. He’s directed to slide the briefcase over to them. Once they get it, the kidnapper points the gun at Claudio, he tells him that this is a gift from a lady who cares about you so much, he's going to see his son get killed, turns to point the gun at Max and we hear a gunshot. But we then hear another gunshot, the kidnapper is shot by the policeman as Claudio runs toward Max and shields him. More shots are fired by the other kidnapper as Max and Claudio fall to the ground together. The rest of the police move in and take charge of the kidnappers. Max and Claudio are laying on the ground and both have clearly been shot. We won’t know their fate until Monday night.

I knew Josefa had stuck those scissors BELOW Monterrubio's gut when she plunged it in. He'll never have any more dalliances with young women, ever again. Too bad, so sad, Marcelo.
The cops shot the kidnapper who was about to shoot Max in the head, but managed to get off a shot that hit Max in the shoulder. Then the other kidnapper took aim at Max, and Claudio shielded him with his body and got shot in the back at least once, but maybe twice. So Max will be fine, but it's up in the air for Claud. If he dies, then that's the best way he could have gone-- giving his life for his son. Also glad he did finally fulfill his promise and will get MD out (if Marcia doesn't get to her first).
Not much time for Dan to convince MD that HE's the one who got her out. The fact that he's having his will made ASAP, leaving everything to Almita, means he's a dead man walking. I did laugh when Victor and Arango looked at each other, like this dude has REALLY lost it, when Dan was talking about how MD is coming back to him and they're going to be a happy family. Even they know that's never going to happen.
Very glad Leo and Corina rescued Clara, and she learned a valuable lesson about trying to go it alone and making poor choices.
It also surprised me Josefa turned herself in and wants to be incarcerated.
Has any plan MD came up with worked? I've tried to remember one and cannot. I thought she wanted revenge on the people in prison that hurt her, not continue to investigate Marta's death for Isela. That investigation will get her killed instead of transferred thanks to Claudio. Instead MD hands her wedding ring and promises of Dan's money to La Pili who promptly tell Marcia.
Glad I got to see the negotiation between Dan and MD again and she clearly believes Dan will hold up his end of the bargain. She trust him and that trust will make Dan's job of taking credit for her release very easy. If only the woman had given Max the benefit of doubt another day.
I saw Max take one bullet in the back and hope he is not dead.
Makes me sick Clara was going through with this and had Leo and Corina not arrived she would have. Corina seems to be the only one that can keep her head.
Thank you J. This is the bridge to the end. Your recaps have been super. Please do this again for El Hotel.
Yep, Josefa is on her way to jail to get revenge on the ones who killed Marta. Abuela and Marcia, beware.
Looks like Monterrubio got the same punishment that Danilo did in LM. But it wasn't quite as exciting. I also think it would've been much more exciting had Josefa been legitimately arrested instead of simply turning herself in. Kinda like in MEPS when the police arrived at the crime scene of Artemio's murder and Barbara simply said that she did it.
Poor Clara. It is sad that she felt she had to resort to those measures to help her family. Hopefully they find another way.
I do hope neither Max nor Claudio die. In part, I don't think death is fair punishment for Claudio. He should have to live with the guilt of treatinh Alma poorly and also the possibility of Isela never waking up. He deserves to be alone because of all he's done.
Can't wait to see what happens on Monday. I'm gonna miss this novela a lot. Definitely has been one of my favorites!
If Max is badly wounded and hospitalized, he still just "disappeared". I wonder what happens when Dan discovers his guys didn't kill Max on his orders but attempted to on Ursula's. He can still tell MD it was his mother's fault if she even cares. Well she'll have to have some interaction with Max during their divorce proceeding.
I didn't come into this show until about 1/3rd of the way through; didn't really get involved with it until 2/3rds of the way through, and have only seen the actual show this past month. Each time I read a re-cap, I found myself wanting to watch this TN.
I am literally dumbfounded at how well this has been written. In the episodes I have seen, there has been no filler; no continuity gaps. I am even more amazed that this came from Televisa.
What has struck me the most is this: these actors look like REAL people living REAL lives. This is not about beautiful people, bandage dresses, and stiletto heals. The casting director should win an award. Gabriel Soto has always just struck me as another in a line up of Televisa Handsome Men, but he has earned my respect for his acting in this role. I saw Max, a real character and not Soto just playing Max. I think he has the potential to move beyond novelas and do screen work. I hope he considers it.
...and Maria Dolores...haven't we all known such a person in our lives...someone who frustrates us so with their decision making process? Casting Director should win an award for this actress choice as well.
I'll grant you that some of this has been difficult to watch. Josefa's self loathing and anger could only be taken in small bites, but her cold and calculating move of castrating Monterubio was superb acting on her part. Keep in mind that castration is only removal of the testicles and not a penectomy, but I felt the fear that Monterubio must have been feeling when Josefa grabbed his genitals. I'm surprised that more blood was not gushing over Josefa.
I am conflicted over the possibility that Maria Dolores will never know the lengths of Isela's betrayal. I dearly hope that Ivana does not walk away into the sunset without paying for her transgressions. There were times I could not stomach either of these characters.
I also have to say that there are times I have wondered what in the world Max saw in Maria Dolores, but...there you have it.
Like Hellashelle, I have wondered why the female writers on this show have written the character of Maria Dolores this way. If only we could debrief the writers after this is over.
Thank you again to the incredibly talented re-cappers. It is been such a pleasure to read your work.

Despite her blaming Max for not being able to trust men the real culprit is Dan and someday after she finally works through it all she'll see it. It's unfortunate for both she and Max that Max appeared before she was able to detox from a toxic relationship. Dan is her first love, the first man she wanted to give herself to and she couldn't pretend he meant nothing and switch it off overnight.
This doesn't mean I haven't appreciated J's work. All the recappers have been on cue and helped dissect this very complicated novela.
Fatima--so nice to see your long comment here and thanks for "describing" what none of us really wanted to see. I just saw Ho-Sefa take one over-the-head stab and Monterubio howling in pain. I thought she had stabbed him in the gut, maybe turned the knife. I didn't catch what she was turning herself in for. Yuck.
However...you are certainly correct that so much of what she does and has done has been influenced by one horrifically toxic relationship. I also agree that given time, she will be able to make sense of it.
Fatima
When Max was laying on the ground after being shot, he had blood near his waist. So I'm with Tofie, it looks like he got shot lower than his shoulder.
I think Josefa will be the new boss at the prison. After she tells everyone she castrated her daughter's abuser, she will be heralded for her valor and become prison queen.
I think the scene would have been much more realistic minus the over the head stab, however, I understand that the writers wanted to give us that suspense. The over the head stab was wasted action and could have resulted in a not so clean cut or missing the target altogether...which really demonstrates what a dark soul Josefa really is because to do what she did to Monterubio required a well thought out plan...as the action itself is not an instinctive action.
Fatima
Wish Jo had added the attempt on Leo to her list of crimes, but guess she doesn't give a damn about that. She only mentioned the robbery of the garage because she knew there was already a warrant out for the person who did it and would get her processed faster.
It looks as if we aren't going to get any time to see everyone living happily ever after.
I do wonder what will happen with Doris and Orlando.
Hosefa castrating Monterubio didn't come as much of a surprise. Her whole thing of no men in her house, the attempted murder of Leo, and the things she did to Orlando led up to this. Monterubio was one slimeball who really deserved this.
I was initially surprised that she turned herself in but that was to guarantee she'd have a chance at getting revenge on La Abuela and Marcia before losing her momentum. Makes me wonder whether it ever occurred to her that she will never get out.

Sara also told me that the original 1954 movie Yo No Creo en los Hombres is on YouTube. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v16xyf4Xv0Y
This is such a spectacular novela, we here at CarayCaray have been truly blessed by the splendid recappers who have done it justice. Cathyx- THANK you for this and for all the others.
I, too, am totally looking forward to seeing you guys again over at EHDLS. I hope it honors your talents and capabilities.
Love how the intensity is picking up (I wouldn't previously have thought it possible!) and that- with one hour left to go- everything is STILL so up in the air. Kudos to the writers (again!), for keeping us on the edge of our seats!!
So it looks like Abuela has granted MD a modicum of respect after standing up to her. Will MD FINALLY find out what happened to Marta?? From what I got from Abuela she professes to be totally innocent. The timing of this is crucial as the Fury that is Josefa is about to enter the fray.
I love that the good characters (Orly, Doris, Clara, Leo, Corina, Chelito, etc.) seem to have coalesced although, like you all, I wonder what will become of Orly and Doris in this last hour...
What is Marcia going to do? I don't expect her to go down without a fight. Dan has bequeathed everything to Malenita/Almita... does Ursula know this?? I can't imagine that she'll take this sitting down. What awaits MD when she leaves prison? More importantly, what course of action will she take?? How will she deal with Daniel?? And what of Claudio & Max?
SO MUCH UNANSWERED QUESTIONS!! SO MUCH EXCITEMENT!! CAN'T WAIT FOR MONDAY!!!!
I LOVE this f**king novela... it really is a credit to the genre. And, I don't know about you all, but whatever Giselle Gonzalez does next... I AM SO THERE!!! :-)
In fact, though the basic storyline is the same, in this recent adaptation it's like everything was on steroids. There wasn't nearly the nuances or the depth that there is in this one. In the previous one, Leonor was just your typical controlling telenovela matriarch, not the manipulative mastermind we have in Ursula. Also, interestingly, in the original, there was no 'Julian' character... in the original, Maria Dolores killed the DANIEL character while he was raping her, and got sent to jail for that. And she didn't meet the 'Max' character until AFTER she was released from jail and he gradually helped her to regain her trust in men. In that respect, it was very like much like your typical telenovela.
And, uh... this one sure as hell ISN'T!! :-)
1.) Ursula won't go down easy. I'm expecting her to tying up loose ends.
2.) Psycho Dan won't be among the living I'm sure of it.
3.) Isela's betrayal ? Considering she's now paralyzed after Josefa threw her over the railings!
4.) MD needs to stop trusting the wrong people!
5.) Claudio might be dead! Could be wrong though.
6.) Glad that Clara learned her lesson in NOT doing outrageous things like escort service!
7.) What will Ivana's anvil be ?
Bazzar, everybody else screams, throws furniture, and dishes, josefa castrates. I hope
She didn't put " it" in the bag with the money.
All the crap dan did to md was enough to get
Her this angry, he could have been in jail by
Now but she did what she did, and here she
Is in prison instead of the rapist. O well it'll all
Come out in the wash. And what a wash it's
About to be.
As mad as Iam with claudio, I hope he's not
Dead. For his sons sake. They're mad with
Him to, but they need their dad. And he need
To Make up for the mess he's made of all their lives, his own included.
So glad they rescued clara. Poor thing, shes
At the end of her rope. Max ought to move moma espy, clara in the mansion with him and MD and little alma when this mess is over. he ought to do that. We may not see it
Tho.
I'm lookingforward to all the bad guys getting beheaded not like monster Rubio though, but they will get beheaded. Hah!!!! He wont be able to destroy anymore little girls lives. He
Got just what he deserved. now Josefa can't blame him for her abusing Isla that's on her.
which is why she's about to get her own comeuppance.
This is the first time I've ever seen everybody In a telenova where everyone Is miserable.
Thanks Cathyx, good recap.
Josefa is likely to die in prison so it doesn't really matter if her attempt on Leo's life comes to light.
If Claudio survives, he will be in disgrace but if Max survives it will be worth it. I think Max & Leo will soften to him because he's their dad but they'll never really trust him again. I don't see him raising Isela's baby either. It would be logical if Max & Maria Dolores adopt Isela's baby and raise her with Almita.
Dan making Almita the heir just put another bullseye on Maria Dolores & the Bustamantes' backs:
If Dan dies, the fortune passes to Almita.
But if Almita dies, the fortune doesn't go to Ursula, it would go to Maria Dolores as Almita's next of kin.
If Maria Dolores then dies, the fortune goes to Max as Maria Dolores' next of kin.
If Max then dies, the fortune would probably go to Leo as Max's next of kin.
It is imperative to Ursula that Maria Dolores die ASAP...and before Dan dies.
Ivana's anvil should be to have her role exposed and barred from adopting any child ever.
I wonder if we will ever see the Origen episode. I would like to see that.
First 2: You're right from a legal perspective. However, I don't think it would be fair for Leo to go the rest of his life wondering who did that.
The six points about Danny-Boy's will: I'm sure he intends to take out Mama Bear one way or the other before anything else can happen to Maria Dolores or himself. He has a major score to settle with her.
At this stage we will never know what Ursula's problem was with other women. If she were younger and beautiful -- like Nina in Poder -- the issue would be easier to understand. Nina would see other women of her own age (and even younger) as competition for men with big bank accounts. I think Ursula's issue is all about control. Also, Ursula is more about long-term planning.
Maleny was clearly a Daddy's Girl, which may have been part of Ursula's motive for getting rid of her husband. He was a means to an end. Had Maleny never been born Ursula would have played Lady Macbeth and pushed Hector into more and more business dealings that may have been more aggressive than he wanted to be and that may not have been entirely on the up and up. This could have led to enough dishonesty in the end that he may actually have committed suicide out of conscience. Maleny, however, was not as easy to control as Danny-Boy had been and that screwed up Ursula's plans.
This TN was a wild ride of emotion. It's just a story, but it really put me through the ringer! The story's been well executed throughout and now they're wrapping things up more effectively than I thought. I really wondered how they were going to resolve so many storylines so quickly, but then they handled Claudio and Josefa so neatly that I guess I just have to keep the faith - the writers know what they're doing (side note: which will forever make me wonder why they crafted MD's character the way they did, but I suppose I'm not alone in that).
Yes, I too think Dan and Ursula will be taken out, though I'd love to see if the story does so in some way other than death. I'm a little surprised Isela's the one in a coma, but ::SPOILER FOLLOWS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN AMOR BRAVIO::
I think I'm just still seeing Flavio Medina's character's end from AB where he was left a quadriplegic and then died. I had kind of wondered if Dan or Ursula wouldn't be trapped in a conscious state of immobility.
Still don't know what to think about Orlando and Doris and how Max and MD will work out. Since he's known her, her best friend had an affair with his dad and broke up his family, he's become completely disillusioned with his father, his mother died heartbroken, his brother almost died, he almost died, it looks like his dad will die, his family's prestige is lost, his heart's been broken, he's dedicated countless hours to free work getting her and her friends out of legal trouble, he's been arrested...she's just not good for him. At the same time, I still root for love. I just shake my head that theirs has to look like this and be this way.
She never made a big deal about her looks, so who knows if that was even an issue. But if it was, maybe it was like Ivana and MD - she resented all the "prettier" girls. It's a proven fact that pretty people are treated better, and, all other issues equalized, get more. Maybe she resented how much harder she had to work to get things than the pretty people around her. You're right - we'll never know.
The actress is now 67 years old and I just realized that she and Alejandro Camacho were both in Cuna de Lobos.
I could see Ursula taking out Dan because he betrayed her. Then maybe she would end up in jail.
It's so odd for me to see the finale split like this, in three episodes, when I watched it in just one but I think Univision makes such odd choices that I'm not surprised.
This telenovela has been my first complete online experience, because it was on at such early hour here in Mexico (6 pm ) that my only way to watch it was at the televisa site for it. Before that I had only used those sites to watch an episode I missed from other novelas (especially Sombra). The reactions here and there sometimes were very different and other times were very simmilar, so that was interesting. I think Mexican viewers are a little more sadistic because I read alot of cheers when Josefa castrated Monterrubio (but wait until Uni shows El Origen and you'll understand).
About Ursula hating women, I'm not surprised. I've met women in real life like that myself. Although they are not as evil and depraved as Ursula is.
Stevey: I didn't watch the 1991 version but I've seen parts of it and I think Julián was there, his name back then was Alberto, like in the 1954 film, Julián was the name they used in this version and and they made some changes to the character. The first part of this story was simmilar to the 1991 take, with Max's character meeting MD and thinking she was Daniel's lover while he was in a relationship with Ivana (Silvia in that version), so they do meet before MD goes to jail, in the film they also meet before she goes to jail but the circumstances are a little different. I think this version is initially based on the 1991 version, they even use the names from that version like Maria Dolores (who before that was named Maria Caridad), Honoria, etc. And they used characters that first appeared there like Leo, Clara, Doris, etc., then it grows into its own very particular world.

I don't think you need it to understand the novela but it helps in expanding some background.

Thank You All!

Evil these two. One will take the other to hell
With them cuz misery loves company. I only
See Death for these 2 people. There is so much blood on their hands. Yeah death is
Emminent. Remember the evil v-snake on imperdonable, she went flyin off the cliff, that
End was perfect for her. And these 2 are just as Nasty........if not more. I think more, much
Much more.
I can't say i felt sorry for Monterubio, he deserved every bit of punishment he got.
Josefa is really crazy.
I also hope MD finds a way to truly get over Dan and all the madness she has been through before starting over again with Max.
I hope Ivana does not get a cop out forgiveness scene. She did a lot of bad things and should get maybe a little anvil for her complacent role in covering up all the evil that Dan and Ursula have done.
The writers did a great job writing a non-conventional telenovela, and the cast was fantastic. I wish that the Doris- Orlando-Isela's baby storyline is resolved properly.
Elorej
After thinking about it all weekend MD doesn't deserve Max. I went back and watched the episode when she was to marry Dan in the church. When he didn't show she was frantic.
Now, I won't be able to watch tonight's Gran Final because of the 2015 National Championship Game, where my Alabama Crimson Tide will crush Clemson tonight!
