Antes Muerta que Lichita #104 ALicia presents her angelic toilet paper campaign... but is it really hers??
Augie keeps
mocking Roberto that now he is basically deep in the mudd (too far inside the
deal to come out clean).
Alicia can’t
believe her family are rolling the red carpet for Valeria, the mother o the woman
who did her so much harm. Alicia talks to Ximena about this, they knock fists
saying they are successful gals.
Valeria is
eating with Luciana just outside the cafecito… Luciana is eager to tell Valeria
about the new campaign she is WORKING ON at the office. Valeria considers it refreshing after she had
been laying around doing nothing… Did Valeria just call Luciana lazy?
(floja)? Luciana keeps thinking
everything about Valeria and her new job is ‘third-worldly’. Valeria is so sad
to hear her daughter talk so frivolous. Valeria tells her she, on the contrary,
feels good working. She wishes Luciana
good luck with her other coffee brand campaign.
Luciana leaves. Valeria tries to apologize to the Gutierrez, they say no
need, Nacho is not so subtle, rather very straight in his criticism of Luciana.
The API old
guys are mocking Augie about Alex getting married WITH ANOTHER MAN. Roberto asks them how come they are so
informed when the campaign was targeted specifically to the internet and to a
very specific audience… Augie takes the
chance to slip away.
Alicia and
Augie are meeting in his office. He is
surprised to see that she is nervous… he does believe in her abilities. She says this campaign is very important and
there are also some family issues that have her a bit distracted but she
assures him she will figure it all out.
He keeps trying to get her to tell him more about the personal stuff. She
does slip that she feels like she doesn’t have so much in common with her
relatives anymore, that they don’t seem to appreciate all she has done for
them, and that makes her feel a bit guilty.
He encourages her to think of herself before others. HE says he too feels betrayed by the family
he once had worked so hard for. Alicia
backsteps and says what’s important is the presentation so she is heading to
give it one last pass. On her way out
she turns around and asks if he is ok, he responds with a deflated sigh, yeah I’m
always ‘alright’. She leaves.
We have a
product placement and commercial from Shushette telling Fatima about her
AWESOME Payless shoes. Fatima wants
SHushette to locate the reception girls for her.
Magos meets
with her friends again, she shares with them that her folks think she is
studying and at school. She briefly
considers ‘un acordeon’ (a cheat sheet). But she still has a little hope that
she will remember enough of the class to pass.
Fatima goes
to see Alicia and tells her Luciana’s presentation to the People’s cafe client
right at the same time Alicia is presenting her own campaign to the
clients. Alicia is not happy to hear
that. She won’t let Luciana do her presentation to Santy’s representative
today. Fatima asks her if she is mad at Luciana. Alicia says ‘me mad at Luciana? no way!’ (LOL!)
At the API,
the old guys are meeting with Roberto about the financial reports. Roberto is not really with his head in there
so he apologizes and cuts the meeting short.
Elias is
giving Alicia some final seconds encouragement and help with her ‘wings’. They walk
in the room. Alicia has feathery wings on the back of her suit jacket. Nestor
whispers that she looks ridiculous. (the campaign is about toilet paper LOL!) The
client LOVES the campaign ideas.
(angelic toilet paper LOL) The client keeps talking about how much he
loves the campaign when Luciana comes in yelling rants about Alicia cancelling/postponing
Luciana’s presentation to People’s café.
Alicia apologizes to the folks at the meeting about Luciana, who usually
can control her temper… Luciana yells more stuff, showing off the LACK of her
ability to control herself.
Carmona
comes back to see Roberto and he is not a happy camper. He demands Roberto tell
him right now what is going on, seems Roberto has been avoiding him after begging him to team up to trap Augie..
Alicia tells
Luciana the one making a scene is her… Luciana tries to mock and undermine
Alicia in front of her clients but Augie comes in just in time to save
her. THE toilet paper client is ready to
head over to Augie’s office to finalize the details of their ad contract. They all leave Luciana and Alicia alone.
Luciana goes… ‘vas a verrrrrrrrrrrrr!’
(you will see )
The cop
keeps waiting for Roberto to tell him what is up with Augie after Roberto did everything
to try to get his help to catch Augie. Roberto gets irritated and yells at him
.
Luciana and
Alicia get real close to each other and yell at each other face to face…
Luciana keeps trying to cash on ‘being daughter of who I am…’ and Alicia saying she will work her way up as
she has done to date.
Carmona is
guessing right that Roberto now is up to his neck in the whole mess… Carmona
warns him that now he will go after both Augie and him (Rob)… as accomplice.
[We have the
announcement that the new novela, Sueno de Amor, will begin Mar 8th.]
Ximena tells
a very happy family that she will be learning French soon at school.
Alicia calls
Elsa. Elsa asks Alicia if she was uncomfortable when Luciana showed up. No
worries.
Luciana,
SHushette, Nestor et al are texting each other… they are all trying to come up
with some plan to stop Alicia’s toilet paper campaign. Luciana is nasty to the maid at the house.
Sandra meets
with Fatima at a coffee shop. Sandra is nagging that she can’t find a job
anywhere, thanks to Alicia. Fatima tells
her she has to go back to work but repeats to Sandra that Alicia is not to
blame for Sandra’s fate, she brought that up on herself with her actions. Fatima suggests to Sandra to find employment
in another industry. Sandra does not want to leave the advertising industry.
Roberto gets
to see Mateo again at Augie’s place.
Augie asks Rob how the API stuff is going. Ok. Augie is not worried, his business deals have
always been undetectable. Rob tells Augie
that Carmona is already suspecting that Roberto is covering up for Augie’s
business… Augie reiterates to Rob that they are now ‘OUR deals’.
At the
office, Fatima encourages Alicia, the new campaign will be a big positive move
for Iconika. Alicia talks business and
makes Fatima feel like Alicia is now focused on business revenue. Alicia keeps
on talking about Iconika expanding to Latin America… even walking away saying
there is lots of work ahead of us. Fatima stays there looking… a bit
discouraged … from what she just heard.
Days later…
(we see
sights from possibly latin America) It
is Braulio and Brisa… they have been on vacation at Playosfera (LOL!). he is surprised he has been able to survive
so many days disconnected from the virtual world. She convinces him that he is enjoying
himself, he agrees.
Alicia is
receiving new clients, she asks about Nestor, and SHushette tells her he has
been working like a slave for many days.
Alicia comes
to his office and he nags and nags about the workload… he urges her to hire
someone to help him out. Alicia talks
to him about him finally earning his salary and even a bonus. Now he can undertand how she felt when she
earned very little and worked too hard.
She suggests he fix himself up (hair and makeup LOL!)
Luciana is
in bed, Valeria calls her. Seems she has
been out of touch lately. Roberto comes
in after she hangs up. He reminds her Augie wants her to come and attend the
new meeting about the toilet paper contract. She is not looking forward to
this.
Alicia again
meets with Marcelo (her favorite stylist). She wants something really
breakthrough to really make an impression now.
He reminds her she is Alicia, he does not want her to tell him she is
now very cookie cutter businesswoman. She
reminds him she would be ‘dead before being Lichita again!’ He promises her she will be ‘REGIA’ (AMAZING)
Braulio and
Brisa arrive back home. She calls her
dad… she invites herself to dinner with her dad. She says on phone she does feel like
forgiving him but will talk more about it at dinner. Braulio and Brisa talk that she will see if
her dad can help them with their finances.
At the big
house, Roberto is helping Luciana with her dress for the meeting. She is
nagging at herself for being ‘fat’. HE
tries several times but her dress won’t close.
BTW she is eating a GIGANTIC piece of cake. She tells him he has been wearing a face
lately like he is standing before an execution line of fire. They mumble about their blues lately. She tells him she will only go to the meeting
to learn if Alicia’s idea is THAT SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS.
Braulio and
Brisa are eating out with her dad… Dad
says the script that Braulio submitted is very good. They keep talking and Braulio feels very (as
he said himself) awkward. Dad says they
can meet tomorrow to make some adjustments to the script. Braulio then tries to call Alicia.
At Cafecito,
Valeria is crying, Elsa comes over. She says Alicia has work and that justifies
her not keeping in touch. Elsa tries to
encourage her. Magos is at a table with
her friends, she is now worried that the class material is not ‘sticking’ and
she is afraid of tomorrow’s test. She is
then talking about plans to cheat on the test and not get caught. She has to pass that test to get her school
certificate (equivalent of high school, is my guess).
Shushette is
on phone with Braulio, she tells him today there is a huge meeting at IConika
and he should come over but SHushette can’t guarantee he will have any chance
to see Alicia alone, she is real busy.
The
presentation begins with SHushette introducing the campaign logo. Braulio says the campaign has angels, like
his movie … (ouch!)
Luciana is
also making comments…
Shushette
then gets the video started… and Braulio realizes Alicia used his material. He is
breathing hard as the video finalizes with the product mention…
Augie then
introduces the master behind the campaign…
Alicia comes
down from the roof on cables, all dressed in black and with black feather
wings. Brisa asks Braulio what is going
on. He tells Brisa (and of course
Luciana overhears) that Alicia stole his campaign and his life…
Previews: Luciana gets on mic, asks Alicia to admit
that the campaign idea is not hers but Braulio’s.
Augie is
also ranting at Alicia, but…
Alicia tells
Luciana that she better tell the truth because otherwise everyone will learn
about HER secrets (Alicia shows Luciana something on phone)… (is it the photos
of her and Gumaro?)

So, there are only 11 episodes left with "Sueño de amor" starting on 3/8. Looks like it is starting on 2/22 in México.
Sort of being picky here, Alicia could not have stolen the "Angel image" since it is "Angelical" tissue to begin with. Did she steal the drivel of a script? Or was it a particular logos or graphic design? Unless it was the drivel of a script, it sounded pretty weak to me.
I can understand Alicia feeling taken for granted by her family. Too bad she had to share with Augusto.

I got a kick out of Marcelo the makeup artist talking about the "Lichita" of the past and the "Alicia" of the present and then both he and Alicia saying "Antes muerta que Lichita". Cute.

It is a sad admission that Alicia is truly Magos' sister. Has she changed so much that she is truly going to claim Braulio's idea as her own? My fervent hope is that she will smile and say "now I want to give credit to Braulio for this inspired campaign". Jarifa, thanks for bringing up the fact we don't know exactly what she "stole". But, just from the look on his face, it doesn't look good!

I never understood why Elsa thought it a good idea to take Valeria in so certainly not now that Luciana hangs out everyday. I don't think Valeria is a good person and to sit there bonding with with her daughter as Luciana draws comparisons between what she and Gumaro are doing behind Roberto's back the same as the tryst between Valeria and Augusto and subsequent decades long betrayal of Rafael, wrong. Valeria was to marry Rafael, fell in love with Augusto and he rejected her, realizing she fell for a cad married Rafael anyway. That wasn't enough though. When she realized she was pregnant she passed the love child off as Rafael's. That stinks to high heaven. Rafael would be living today had Valeria admitted her betrayal and let Rafael live his life instead she hid.
While Valeria has made some very serious mistakes, I still believed she loved Rafael.
I think at the core though she is a good person. Her daughter is who she is...

yep, funny but we usually agree on most stuff Diana. I do agree she fell in love with Rafael and her daughter is more like her father. I think my disgust with what she did is influenced by Augusto's taunt that killed Rafael.
I am okay with most everyone (except for Augusto and Magos) because they are getting their payback already. The fact that Roberto has to see his son in such a precarious position due to his own stupidity and ego is anvil enough for me. Well, at least I won't have to wait long to see what is awaiting Augusto and Magos. The Alicia/Malicia character will have a reckoning moment, too, I am sure. As far as actually liking many of these characters is a different story . . .

Magos should've run off with Chanclas if this is the best role model she can be for Ximena.

I agree about Magos not being worthy of Ximena or any of her family for that matter. Especially when she talks about being the example or model for her daughter as if it were a duty or job rather than her goal.
And when will she grow up? is she supposed to be older than Alicia? WHen will she begin to own up to her actions? SO she has been lying to her parents about studying and hoping that somehow she will have the right answers at the test... how distant from reality can you be??

Fun movie with lots of laughs. Just saw "Busco novio para mi mujer" with Arath de la Torre playing a schmuck who wants out of his unhappy marriage and hires a legendary lover played by Jesús Ochoa.
OT.. Speaking about Arath De La Torre, I thought that he did a great job as the host on Premio Lo Nuestro.

Late to the patio as the weekend has come and gone but I did want to say thank you to Marta for her weekend recap.
One thing that really caught my attention was Luciana screaming and yelling full force at Alicia during a presentation with a client. QTH? In any normal working environment the screaming person would have been fired immediately and escorted out the front door--we'll send your personal belongings to you.
