Antes Muerta que Lichita #109 Alicia, or should we say not so little red ridinghood, starts to put the puzzle together ... but might be putting herself in the wolf's mouth
SOrry this is long, but it was a key fast moving episode... here we go...
Luciana can’t
believe Roberto asking her to flee… (I agree, Ingrid Martz is great in this
type of character)… Luciana goes home
and tells Valeria all about Roberto’s request and that Roberto’s son IS
real. And that is why Roberto is doing
everything Augie wants, he has him locked in the penthouse. Valeria asks if we leave, what about Gumaro,
the baby daddy?
At
hospital/clinic, Nestor thanks Alicia for coming to visit him… no one else has
come to visit him (not his baby mama, even if he has been supporting them
financially all this time and he spent half his life with them only for her to
cheat on him with his best friend). HE admits he has not been the best man, but
he is not that filth that most people believe.
Alicia tells us that even her have come to build a soft spot for
Nestor. She wonders what is Roberto’s
back story.
Sandra later
meets with Alicia, they are talking about the campaign for some toy
manufacturer. Augie comes in and is surprised that Sandra and Alicia are
working together on anything. Fatima prevents any sparks and takes Sandra away.
Gumaro is
outside the office faking being the carbon copy of that other guy, on phone with
Roberto. Roberto recommends to Gumaro to
keep trying with Luciana so she will forgive him. Roberto reminds GUmaro that they are still
bros and comrades. Now that he and Luciana are gone then he will be free to
move around as he needs.
Alicia tells
Augie that he feels free to come in whenever through a door that no one ever
used before… HE tells her that the accident has made him think about some
things… he says after all he and her are very similar… they both would go to
any measure to get what they want. HE
had not told her that when very young, he was taken away from his mother’s
arms.
Fatima asks
Sandra what is bothering her so much.
Sandra is jealous that Augie even uses the ‘secret door’ to be with Alicia
whenever he wants. Fatima says she knows
Alicia enough to assure Sandra that Alicia would not submit to that kind of
relationship with Augie. Sandra says
after 10 years of dedicating to him, all she got was a dark apartment. She did
not deserve that.
Augie tells
Alicia that the TOledos dragged him into that house and away from his mother
against his will. Alicia says now she
understands why he never lifted a finger against Roberto when she gave him Roberto’s
files. Maybe because they both started from the bottom. Augie says he has not forgotten anything
about that file, He is only waiting for the right moment to make a move. HE
asks her in return, is she planning her own revenge against Roberto? She assures him she is looking for justice,
not revenge. Augie gets a call and sends
Alicia away.
At API, the
older guys tell Roberto that they have noticed he has been putting very few
hours in the job lately even if he had started the Presidency very enthusiastically. Roberto also gets a call, this time it is Mr
Clemente sending a message that he wants his money back ASAP.
Fatima tells Alicia that she looks distracted and
wants to know what is it. In comes
lUciana and Alicia alerts her that Augie is busy on a call … However Luciana
wants to go in NOW… it is not until Valeria comes and tells Luciana that Alicia
is right… Luciana repeats to Alicia that she hates her, despises her, Alicia makes
her… (Luciana runs out since she was about to say ‘vomit’).
The caller
gives Roberto only a couple weeks to gather the money. Roberto agrees… but has a scared face which
is noted by the API guys. They joke that Maybe it was a ghost or maybe his mom
in law who called him.
Valeria also
warns Alicia to be careful with Augie which is a bit confusing to Alicia. Valeria tells her that even Roberto is in a
lot of trouble cause of Augie. Alicia
does not want to hear about Roberto.
But Valeria tells her that it is blackmailing the card that Augie is
playing against Roberto. Imagine that you are threatened with harming what you
love most… I would do the same for my daughter/nena… She tells Alicia that
Roberto would do the same. Val leaves. (Alicia finally remembers ‘Mateo?’)
Elias and
Shushette in hospital. Elias wants
SHushette to admit that she was or is lover of AUgies. And that it was her who sent the photos
around. Why did you do it? You don’t
need to resort to that to be who you are.
SHushette tells him a secret, that she was a table dancer at a bar to
survive. Elias is not about to judge
her, people end up forced to do whatever to survive. He leaves it up to her conscience to come out
open with the truth to the others.
Valeria is
packing, wants Luciana to help her pack. In comes Bea and asks why they are
packing. She keeps insisting that they
both stay here at the mansion so they can be well cared for.
Alicia is
looking up on the internet and runs into articles describing the arrest of
SHeyla… she sighs loudly about Mateo… then remembers when he told her he has a
son when she was about to marry Alex. And
the time he tried to explain to her about his son and she would not let
him. She tells us ‘That’s when I figured
it out! If we have two sides of us, or two versious of our story. Roberto has
tried a thousand times to tell me his… and I was about to investigate about it,
even if in exchange I would have to separate from him for good.
Luciana apologizes
to Bea… for all the times she mocked her religious habits… Bea says the one you
should apologize is my daughter Daphone.
Roberto is
meeting with Augie at the office, tells him about the call. Roberto is using a
tone that demands action about this guy’s threat on phone. Augie is irritated
and tells him he does not want to talk about that business here in the office!.
Alicia is
trying to hear outside the door but can’t. Fatima comes in, reminds her about a
meeting with Alfonso Sabanes in a while.
Alicia asks Fatima (since she is the one that knows him better) about Augie. Want to know more about him. Did he have
relationships with other women like he did with Sandra? Does he frequently
cheat on his wife? Fatima says she
handles his agenda but knows very little of his personal life. Alicia tries to cover up with simple
curiosity. Fatima leaves.
Roberto and
Nacho are walking the cart around the office.
Nacho tells him about his new career choice joking about mechanical
terms of automotive (since he now rolls the drinks cart). He again mentions the offer from Roberto to
help him try to get his insurance money back.
Roberto is a bit busy but he will try.
Nacho
gossips with the receptionists that Alicia made Sandra cry, and that she can
make anyone cry. Nacho heard this and looks very hurt to hear it.
Luciana is apologizing
(in her own yeah but not really way) to Daphne.
She was worse than a pro turtle handler… Daphne says its good you accept
me, it would be horrible that your baby would suffer the same treatment. Luciana has had enough ‘ay ya!! Perdoname ya!!’ LOL But this all makes Daphne laugh instead
of irritated.
Nacho brings
coffee to Alicia… she is happy he took the time, he says he is glad SHE took
the time off her work to spend a little while with him. Alicia is glad to spend time with her
family. HE mentions that some people
around the office believe she has turned an ogre. She asks him how he knows that. HE says they are gossiping around the
halls. And people seem to shiver when
they see you. Seriously. Some people out
here are afraid of you. And careful, cause it is not the same as respect. She says she noticed that some people would
not respect unless she turned cold and tough.
He says don’t go overboard. There is no need for that.
In his
office, Augie gives Alicia a different viewpoint, the reverential fear of your
subordinates is essential. HE says he
admires that of her too, her passion and guts she has to get what she wants. (
Alicia tells us that Augie also had a side that no one knew, and there was only
one way to find out about the real Augie… ) She then lets him hold her hand and
he asks if she fears him, she says no, she on the contrary wants to tell him he
can count on her for anything. She would
also want to know what is it of hers that is so special for him to dedicate to
her. She tells him they can accomplish
many things together. HE agrees, and
wants to celebrate so he invites her to celebrate at a special place… (she tells us that the only way to find out
about her ‘boss’ was to get close to him).
Roberto is
on phone with Gumaro, saying what he thinks is that Augie wants to throw as
much mudd on him as possible so he can get him caught in the whole dirty
deals. Gumaro tells him that he is not
sure of the hours of this new ‘chamba’
so they can meet later on.
Roberto tells him to be very careful in the new job and to insist with
Luciana so they can both flee and be safe.
Augie calls
the nanny and tells her that he needs for Mateo to go to sleep early. Better make sure Mateo won’t come close to
them tonight, and also make sure the Pent house is spotless tonight. HE hangs up… tells us ‘Alicia Gutierrez and
Augie De Toledo y MOndr’ together… he tells Draco that his experience mixed
with her youth… she could really give him children worthy of his surname… but
in this as in all aspects of his life, … before buying you must test drive
(try).
Fatima comes
to try to get Sandra to go home… but Sandra has just found something that makes
her send Fatima home… she sighs and puts big deer in headlights eyes… oooh!
At the
house, Luciana admits she has forgotten everything about the bonsai trees she
learned from Bea and GUmaro. Gumaro
comes in… she plays around with him asking him to keep his distance. HE tells her
about his new job (does not tell her its to be Draco’s sidekick).. She basically pushes him out the door and
slams it. HE keeps trying to get her to
forgive him… and to leave with
him. HE keeps swearing his love to her
and asking her to whip him with indifference. She opens the door and falls on
him and admits her love for him. He has
to kick the door closed before anyone else could see them. They kiss.
Bea keeps
looking at the papers about ghost brand campaigns… (so Sandra found more irregularities at the
company). Sandra says what we have against us is that ‘this’ happened many
years ago and we don’t know if it is still going on now. Sandra asks why Bea wants to catch Augie. Bea tells her she wants to recover her half
ownership of the agency. And even if she has to dig under water for the
evidence, she will recover her children’s patrimony.
Luciana and
Gumaro are dressed on her bed… he thanks her for forgiving him, she thanks him
for so much love… Now that she is
useless to her ‘papito’, we could go after the money for the sale of Rafael’s
house. Gumaro tells her that Roberto and
him suspect that Augie is behind the mess about Rafa’s house. He looked for any evidence against Augie at
the house but couldn’t find any. HE
mentions to her a tiny box he found. HE
hid it somewhere else. She wants to see
it… it turns out to be her dad’s pill
box, and she remembers when she had found it by her dead ‘dad’ Rafael. She cries and Gumaro gets a bit scared. She tells
him ‘it is my dad’s pill box!’ in between tears. Luciana figures out Augie was the one that
killed her daddy. Gumaro says the box is
no proof… she says yes, they have to tell the police. Gumaro tells her the police won’t believe
her, even if he does. Luciana says her
dad could not survive without his pills, Augie let him die. Gumaro insists they have to go away… she says
she has no head to think anymore.
Alicia tells
Augie she was surprised the special place he was talking about was his pent
house. A man who could have /has
everything he could wish. Augie wants
her to ‘tutear’ him. She gets close to
him, talks about the trip to Los Angeles.
She asks if he lives alone or has employees here. HE mentions it is a
maid with a young son (light goes on in Alicia’s brain). But they must be sleeping already so we are
basically alone. Alicia wants to know if
he was already interested romantically in her by the trip to L.A. He says he was but that then and now he is a
gentleman, so neither then nor now he would do anything that she did not
want. (Roberto has sneaked into Mateo’s
room.) Alicia keeps taunting Augie, saying
he is the best gentleman she knows, yada yada… to Roberto’s dismay. Rob is hurt/devastated
to hear Alicia flirting with Augie.
Previews: Alicia
tells us that (VO adds that it is for Roberto’s sake) she is risking going far
with Augie but has to make sure she will still be able to turn around in time
to save her own life… Alicia accepts to have a formal relationship with Augie
and he won’t waste time to announce it to everyone at the office.

Thank You Marta. A very important episode, and it was great to have your recap make sense of it all. Rob tried to warn Loosey Legs about her Bio Dad but she didn't want to hear it. The crucial part of the show for me was Loosey recognizing the pill box and it dawning on her that Aug had in effect murdered her real life 'Dad' Rafael.
Alicia is treading on thin ice, getting close to Augusto to try bring him down. WTF? Maybe she has to take one for the team. If she beds him willingly, she is an adult, it is not like the end of the world, hell Chuchette would do it for a pair of sneakers from Payless. Take him down Alicia. Set up your laptop in record mode like in Lo Imperdonable.

Marta, this was rich, fragrant and full bodied - delicious elixir.
What a complete, well written recap. You captured all the events perfectly.
So many revelations and changes.
I suspect the coldest heart thawed a bit as Luci recognized the pill box. There is a heart (albeit a rather tiny one) under the dismissive exterior. A terrible dawning of what actually occurred. I am glad she and her Gumaro have made up - she will need him now.
Jarifa, I also loved Dafne making peace with Luci. Perhaps they may become true soul sisters.
Of course we all wish Alicia had stopped to listen to Roberto way before this but now that she has the knowledge, how is she going to use it? No one has yet seemed able to find any chink in Augusto's armor. Let's hope she finds his Achilles heel, and quickly. Wolf is right Marta - he is also like a huge,angry grizzly.
Loved seeing the "old" Alicia comforting Nestor so sweetly (not that he really deserves it I still cold heartedly say).

Still taken aback by the great chemistry between Luciana and Gumaro. She couldn't help but make up with him, the feelings between these two are just too electric. That makeup scene and him in the too big suit -- too cute.
Daphne and Luciana making up but still testy was a good scene too.
So Alicia's eyes are open and she's going to try to trap Augusto. Hopefully she and Roberto somehow join forces on this. Alicia has become like a painted mannequin to me. I needed to see her strategizing and plotting like the old days.

I love how everyone is slowly coming around to the truth. It is feeling organic and not rushed.
Poor Luci but glad she realizes truth that Augie let Rafa die. Only worry is that she won't be able to stop herself from revealing the truth to him too soon.
Dafne and Luci apology scene was great. I think a big reason why Dafne was able to easily forgive is bec she has more confidence and feels secure in the love of her family. She was much more vulnerable before.

Alicia will twist, in order to justify, his horrible treatment, lies, betrayal and criminality. Amazing to me that Roberto and his buddy Gumaro do not think their thievery and scams criminal and lies fine.
An 11 hour apology for horrible treatment doesn't cut it with me.
I'm floored the board members of API realized Roberto doesn't work and called him on it. He has never done an honest day of work his whole life. Even Chuchette knows you exchange something of value for money.
Fatima, Ximena, Alex, Dafne and Elas are the only people in this show than haven't willingly screwed over family or friend.
While I love, love, love the job Ingrid did with Luciana and the show benefited greatly from the character and her depiction, Luciana doesn't deserve a happy ending.
It's hard to watch an idiot like Nacho and find myself surprised he can speak in complete sentences.

I'm so glad people are finally starting to figure out how evil Augie is, and trying to take him down. Now, if only they would all unite forces, then they might have a chance taking the devil down.
