Pasion y Poder #78 20160201 Francofurter, You Have A Little Weenie (Read the Article for Clarification)

Hospital

Nina breaks away from the nurse and runs back into Erick's room where he is in cardiac arrest.  She begs him to breathe and screams for the doctor.

Out in the waiting room, Art and Augie argue with the police.  Art suggests that Eladio could have tossed the Ratt over the railing.  He's strong enough.  The police say that a witness saw Erick walk back into the building.  Also, Erick had the necklace that he gave to Monseratt.  The witness stated that Monseratt had that necklace when he last saw her.  They have a solid case against him.  Erick is under arrest and will be taken to the big house as soon as he gets better.

When Clara and Connie walk in, they are told that Erick is in a coma.

The doctor tells the family that Erick could die.  Nina tells that doctor that Erick woke up.  The doctor wants to know why Nina didn't tell him.  She said that she was talking to her kid.  Art comforts Nina.

In another part of the hospital, Clara thanks Augie for hiring her.  She asks if she will be down on her knees...cleaning.  Augie says that Miguel recommended her for an administrative position after only one computer class.  Augie says that she will work behind a desk.

Miguel sees Clara and comes over to comfort her.  Clara tells Miguel to get away from her and not to touch her.  Clara suggests that Connie accompany her to the chapel to pray.  When Connie sees the cops, she runs over and assaults them.  She shoves one and demands that they leave the hospital.  My husband is in a coma.  The cops aren't leaving.  Erick might be in a coma, but he's under arrest for the murder of the Ratt.  Connie faints.

Augie pick Connie up in those big strong arms and threatens the cops with a court order.  He is a Hot-TTT.  Where is his totally unnecessary and gratuitous shower scene?

Dani asks her mom if she thinks the charges are true.  Nina tells Dani that she knows how the Ratt was killed.  Before she can get it out, Art interrupts.  He wants to know if Erick confessed.  Nina tells Art that it was an accident.  Art tells them to keep their traps shut.  They will help Erick.  Clara comes by and tells them that Connie fainted and she is in the ER.

Over in the ER, the doctor tells Connie (who now has to be in her 15th trimester and still not showing) that her husband is here to see her.  Anyways, the husband turns out to be Miguel.  Connie introduces Miguel as her brother in law.  The doctor tells Erick not to piss her off because she's 20 months pregnant with high blood pressure.  She is at risk.

After the doctor leaves, Connie tells Miguel that Erick killed the Ratt.  Miguel sits on her bed and hugs her.  Right at the moment, Art and Nina walk in.  Nina wants to know why Miguel is groping his brother's wife. Miguel explains that Connie is upset because she just found out that Erick allegedly killed the Ratt. She's vulnerable so I took the opportunity to freely molest her.  Art and Nina seem OK with that explanation.

Montenegro Mansion

Petra tells David that Jorge's dad was a gardener and bricklayer for the Montenegros.  Jorge had a crush on Gina.  When they were 12, Jorge gave her a flowers.  They were the first flowers that Gina ever received.  Dave tries to ask more questions, but Petra cuts the convo off.  Dave says that Jorge never stopped loving Gina.

Jorge calls and tells Dave that they have to clean up all of the rubble on the construction site.  Dave gives him the go-ahead.  Jorge tells Dave that they will have to extend the project by one day.  Dave says no.  I don't know why this scene matters.  Anyways, Regina stumbles out of the house and tells Dave that Erick is in a coma.

Dave and Gina go to the hospital.  Dave comforts Gina with smoochie poos.  Dani walks over to Dave and tells him that Eladio is nice (Boo!).  He gave her the day off so that she could spend it with her family (Boo! Bring back Evil E...he so sexy!).  Dave touches her arm and tells her that he is there for her.  Gina tells Dani that they need to stick together for their parents.  The doctor comes out and announces that Erick is in stable condition and he can have visitors one at a time.  Gina asks to go in first because she has to go back to Monterrey.  Dani tells Gina that she should not be thinking of work at this time.  Gina says that she has to do the job because she committed to it.  She has to make money for the family.

Art walks out and notices that playa Dave hanging out with Dani.  He tells Dave to hit the bricks.  Dave pulls him aside and asks if they can talk.  Dani goes too.  Dave asks for Art's blessing.  Art says hell no.  Gina is a grown woman and can do whatever the hell that she wants.  Dave has boinked both of his daughters and that's despicable in his book.  Dave says that Regina worships him.  Art says that he worships both of his daughters and Dave is hurting them both.  Dave tells Dani to tell the truth and to shame the devil.  She boinked him and played with his emotions.  Dani admits that she did it, but she states that she later apologized for it.  Dave said that it was too late, by then he had been p-whipped by Gina.  Dave tells Art that Gina is hurting.  Art tells Dave that Dani is hurting too.

Regina begs Erick to wake up for his baby.  She's sorry for arguing with him.  Blah, blah, blah.  Art visits Erick and also tells him to wake up for his baby.  Art apologizes for calling him and telling him that the police were coming to arrest him.  Art holds his hand and tells him that he would trade places with him, if he could.  Wake up, so you can spend life in prison...yeah, that's a great incentive.  Anyways, Connie visits Erick and apologizes for telling him that she loves Miguel.  She begs him to wake up for the baby as well.  Wake up so that you kid can visit you in prison for the rest of his life and you can also know that your brother is boinking your wife and your child is calling him daddy.  Yeah, another reason why he would fight to live.  I'm Team Stay in the Coma Erick.  You have nothing to live for.

Art is shown an article saying that Erick killed the Ratt.  He accuses the Gomez-Lunas of leaking the story and gives Dave the heave ho.  Gina hears the yelling and comes out.  Dave says that he will come back for her.  Art yells that the Gomez-Luna's are mocking their pain.

Dani follows Dave out into the hallway and tells him that she is going to back off and leave him and Gina alone.  Dave doesn't believe her.  Dani says that the Erick situation has made her change.  She asks that he not visit Gina in the hospital or at their home because his very essence bugs her father.

Art tells Gina to break up with Dave.  Gina tells Art that she loves Dave.  She can't make Dave happy if her dad is angry.  She will die without Dave.  Art gives her a big hug.

Gomez-Luna Residence

Gaby, Julia and Eladio discuss Erick's condition.  They all agree that they shouldn't return to the hospital, they will wait for Dave to provide them with any updates.  When Franco walks in, Julia tells Franco that she didn't see him at the hospital. He said that Augie kicked him out before he could see anyone.  Augie is the only person he ran into.  Franco says that Erick dying will be great for business.  Julia starts screaming at him and Eladio smacks the hell out of him.  Eladio tells Franco that their will be a cease fire while Art is dealing with this.  He advises Franco that he should respect pain.  I hate the new and improved Eladio.  Evil E was so sexy and tense.  Anyways, Franco walks into the foyer and Gaby follows to comfort him.

Julia and her assistant are all excited over a surprise for Gaby.

GLA

In the office, Franco asks his father if he was just humoring Julia.  Erick should die, right?  Eladio is only pretending to agree with Julia.  Boring GoodE2Shoes, tells Franco that death is not the answer.   He says that Franco needs to think.  Franco whispers that he wishes Erick had died.

Gaby tells Caridad that she and Franco are back together.  Caridad is thrilled.  Gaby says that she still can't trust him.  She asks Caridad to let her know if she sees Marintia, the secretary with benefits, with Franco.

Franco remains in the office.  He's on the phone and asks someone if they have published the article.  Marintia, the secretary with benefits, walks in and tells Franco that she has to speak with him.  She says, Francofurter, you have a little wiener and then his mother walked in.  Oh, my gosh!  That is how rumors get started.  Let's begin again:   Francofurter, you have a little wiener...on the way!  That's what she actually said.  Well anyways, right as she says it, Caridad walks in and she has heard the whole thing.  Caridad is shocked to her that Marintia lied to her.  Although Caridad protests, Franco bodily ejects her from the office.  Franco then grabs the pregnant chick and demands to know how this could have happened if she was protected.  She knows that he's engaged to Gaby!  Marintia, the secretary with benefits, says that she didn't do it on purpose and that he would have to pay for the abortion.  Her no birth control method failed.  Franco tells her that he doesn't want that kid under any circumstances.

Later, Franco gives Caridad a check and tells her to bring back the money.  Caridad wants to know what the cash is for.  Franco tells her get some business of her own.  Caridad begs him to not to let his child grow up without a father.  She reminds him that he suffered.  He should talk to Gaby. She tells Franco that Eladio loves him.  Franco tells her that Eladio didn't acknowledge him until he confronted him.  Franco, assures her that the baby will not grow up without a father because it will not be born.  He is certain that Eladio will agree with him.

Back at the Gomez-Luna mansion, the surprise is Gaby's parents have come to visit.  There is no way that those two incredibly good-looking people made that mutt, Gaby.  Anyway, Amanda is the mother and I didn't catch the father's name.  They want to know about Franco.  Julia assures them that Franco is good for Gaby.  She also assures them that Gaby is a strong women and Franco will not run over her.  She tells them that Eladio is not longer a weenis and has changed for the better (Boo!).  Gaby comes in and sees her parents.  Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy!  Well, until Humberto rolls in on his hover chair.

Humberto tells the family that Franco is dirty bum.  Gaby's dad (GD) reminds Humberto that he is the father.  Humberto says that Franco is a indeed a weenis and poor.  He insults Gaby's dad for being poor as well.  He only owns a small shoe shop with less than 100 employees.  GD says that he would have had more money if he wouldn't have paid off Humberto's gambling debts.  Humberto points out that Eladio paid more.  They tell him to behave if he wants to be invited to the wedding.  Eladio certifies that Franco is a good man.  Finally, they boot Humberto out of the room.  He says something about being an aristocrat.  Julia and Amanda hug their men for standing up for them.

When Franco arrives, Eladio introduces him to the in-laws.  Julia and Eladio are throwing the kids a surprise civil wedding!  Happy Joy!  When Dave arrives, they tell him that the wedding is tomorrow.

Back at GLA, Caridad tells Marintia that she knows what the cash is for.  She begs Marintia not to abort the baby.  Have it and give it to her.  She'll name it Vienna Sausage.  Marintia says that she is poor, alone in Mexico and can't afford to care for a kid.  Caridad says that she will help her.  She says the kid will be the grandchild of Eladio and that Marintia is hatching a gold mine.  Marintia suddenly gets maternal instincts attached to dollar signs.

Later, Franco meets with the guy who cut the breaks on Erick's whip.  The guy asks Franco if he would like him to kill Erick at the hospital.  Franco says that it's too risky and he doesn't want Erick in jail.  The hitman tells Franco to call him when he wants Erick to die.

Back at the hospital cafeteria, Nina is like really super bummed.  She's like so bummed that Art is becoming concerned for her.  He encourages her to eat something.  Miguel comes in and asks Art to sign the forms that Angeles left.  Art doesn't have a pen and he is not in the mood for work. Art tells Miguel that he feels guilty because he told Erick that the cops were after him.

Psst...Come closer......Closer.......I could care less that Erick is in a coma.  Dave and Gina bore me.  Why couldn't they crash and die? I want Evil Eladio back!  Why is Connie not showing yet?

Miguel tells Art not to feel so bad.  Erick crashed the car because Connie told him that she loves Miguel.  Art is shocked, disgusted and appalled that his two sons are crossin' swords.  Art almost passes out and tell Miguel to respect the bro code.  Miguel says that he will respect his brother, his wife and his brother's kid, but he still gonna have the hots for his Connie.

Another Cyn-fully delicious recap! I still have tears in my eyes from all the laughing! Muchas gracias! :)

I echo your sentiment about Evil E (good one!) and Consuelo's invisible baby. Like I said yesterday, I want to start a petition: Bring Back My Baddies! Humberto and his sneaky-mobile do not provide enough evil antics. If the TN Gods are kind enough to grant me a wish, I'd like a tender Hotladio at home and a sexy Meanladio at the office.

I feel the same as you, Regina and David are boring me to distraction and more so now that Jorge The Teenage Foreman is in the picture (I fail to see the added value here). The only time I care about this couple's relationship is during their scenes with Arturo. As much as I dislike Arturo, I understand why he can't stand the fact that the son of his worst ennemy has bedded both of his daughters. And to add insult to injury, Regina and David's relationship is now hindering Arturo's plans to stalk and pester Julia until she winds up sleeping with him or until Eladio winds up killing him, whichever comes first.

Finally, we get to meet Gabi's parents and seeing them raises more questions than answers. They seemed like regular people who apparently make enough money to live decently. They're not leperous hunchbacks dressed in tatters living off scraps in a gutter somewhere. Entonces, why have they abandoned their only child? During a scene yesterday, Amanda and her hubby were rolling their eyes and dissing Eladio behind his back. If Eladio is such a monster, then why did they ship off their little girl to live at the Gómez Luna House of Horrors? These people are just another example of the Vallado family's self-serving hypocrisy: Eladio is aggressive and vulgar and so beneath their station but he has an obscenely vast fortune and as long as he is very generous with it, everything is A-Okay! Ugh! This makes me very happy that their insipid daughter Gabi will be marrying that smarmy weasel of Franco tomorrow (in PyP time). I hope the Mouthbreather crashes their wedding and announces to everyone in attendance that "the Francofurter has a little weiner... on the way!" Ha!

Lots of interesting happenings in this episode, but the best scene for me, hands down, was Eladio smacking the wax out of Franco's ears! I hit "rewind" several times and whooped for joy! I'm off to see it again!

Another thing, I don't know about you fellow Patio dwellers, but the more I watch this show, the more I feel it is just one long-ass Public Service Announcement about the importance of contraceptives and safe sexual practices.
Have a good productive day, everyone! Catch you later! :)

-- A quote from the capítulo --

“¡El destino no existe! (...) ¡Uno lo forja! ¡Se forja con decisiones!” *

* Arturo doesn’t want to hear David’s explanations of love and destiny. He just wants David to stop boinking his daughters so that Little Arturo can have a fighting chance of boinking David’s mother: “Fate does not exist! (...) One forges one’s own fate! It is shaped by decisions!”

Destino = In this context, fate or destiny. “Destino” can also mean: 1) destination, journey’s end; or 2) end use.

Forjar = to forge, to shape, to make.

Cyn, I laughed so much throughout your recap!! Too many comments to mention....so, so funny!!

I can't understand Caridad, wanting to care for Marintia's baby. How would she explain that, especially to Gaby?? Not that I sanction abortion.

Terrific recap, Cyn.

You're another funny one, Nandicta!

Ann-NYC

Gracias, Cynderella, for the early posting.

Personally, I think the Secretary With Benefits did this on purpose. I previously thought she was too intelligent to think this would work but this is also too irresistible a plot point even in 2016 for the writers to back off from. I think she did this in revenge because she hasn't gotten a Big Payoff for spying on Eladio for Franco. I also don't think she's poor, as in being an Executive Assistant to a CEO has to pay very well and didn't Franco know her from business school? There is no good reason for anyone who went to business school to be poor unless they're unemployed for a long time.

I didn't catch Gabriela's father's name either, so I hope somebody else did. And why did he have to almost bankrupt himself to pay for his father-in-law's vices AND take abuse over his "poverty"? I want more details on this, but -- really -- Humberto needs to die. His continued existence benefits nobody.

Now was not the time for Miguel to confess to Arturo about himself and Consuelo. This is a double barrel of Ick Factor for this man who now has more family crises than he needs.

More in a bit.

Oh Cynderella...You had me at Hello. Wow ..that title. I have no words . Well, I do, but I won't say them. Blushing. Thanks for the breakfast giggles!

Anyhoo, this show seems to also be putting out a PSA for computer skills. Clara has quickly become upwardly mobile and headed for the glass ceiling after a little training in technology.

That was a pretty quick turnaround for Gaby as to deciding to marry Frank ..like right away. I must say that I !iked her hairstyle for the wedding as seen in previews for the next episode.I thought that she looked much prettier without the center part. Not wuitecas pretty as her vroom, Pretty boy Frank, but verra Bonnie. Her mother looked as though she could be her sister, so maybe Augie will turn his ardent attention to mama now that she is back in town. The writers are letting us know that Gaby's parents are of more modest means because they do not wear cocktail dresses or suits around the house like Julia and Hotladio do. Yes, Cynderella, I know why Julia dies not wear capris .

Well, I am off to teach verb tenses...12...in an hour and 15 minutes. That works out to about 6 minutes per tense!

Cynderella, smart, sassy and sensational.

"He is a Hot-TTT. Where is his totally unnecessary and gratuitous shower scene?" Yes! I was wondering the same thing myself.

As much as I don't like Arturo, he has spiraled downward, freefalling into the depths. It was just one more pitiful scene after the other where his son seemed to be recovering, then plunged into a coma. Next, he has to deal with interloper David who will not go away, continuing to pursue Regaina after discarding Dani. Then, his other son declares he is in love with Connie, Erick be damned! (not that I disagree! And then he has to comfort his wife whom he would prefer just disappear all together. Let's just say a bad day all around...

The new and not at all improved Eladio might not be as much fun to watch but I'm not worried. His mask will slip and he will revert back to his upfront, anger and jealous ranting soon enough.

I absolutely think Marintia's pregnancy was intentional and that she likely will not keep it under wraps. Isn't it formulatic that she will have the child? Yes. Caridad will see to it.

I like Clara! Let's fix her up with Auggie...

And where have Gaby's parents been? "They're not leperous hunchbacks dressed in tatters living off scraps in a gutter somewhere. Entonces, why have they abandoned their only child?" Nandicta, excellent, (hilarious) point.

Thanks Cynderella!

Diana

Thank you very much for the recap!

Bold Prediction: Martinita's bun in the oven is GONE (see Silvana on Hasta Fin Del Mundo)!

Thanks, Cyn! No time for a long comment right now.

If Marintia was contemplating an abortion before, she sure as heck isn't now that Caridad let slip that Eladio is Franco's daddy. Those dollar signs started dancing in front of her eyes.

I don't think Gabi was abandoned by her parents. It was stated before that she came to D.F. to go to university (which I assume Eladio is paying for). It's just been weird that she's never really brought them up, or that they didn't make a big deal about Franco picking up a phone to ask them for Gabi's hand, instead of Eladio.

Cynderella, another wonderful and hilarious recap sails off your pen. Everything was fantastic, thanks.

I'm afraid that Consuelo will reconcile with Erik. I'm not looking forward to that tedious storyline. It has taken us 70 or so capitulos to get rid of him, now we'll have to start all over again. Oh dear..

Regina is wonderful person. When she said that she wouldn't be happy with David without her father's love and then gave Arturo a bear hug, a little tear crept into my eye.

Both David and Miguel need to learn something about timing. Using hospital waiting rooms to sell yourself to parents isn't smart and as we saw, didn't work.

Marinita says she is sending money home to Argentina, hence perhaps a money crunch. But she is so duplicitous, who can believe her.

Oh Cynderella. Snarkalicious, Cynfully delicious? Nandicta you are a close second. Yup, I'm with you. Too bad there is not a family dog, so there would be at least one character in this show with a working brain. 20 months pregnant? Nice. No way they could be the parents of this MUTT? A Mutt with a bunch of junk in the trunk I might add. Those faded jeans looking leggings are not for you Gab.

Hummy rolls up in his Hoverchair to spew a little venom. Little does he realize an oxygen line has wrapped around a wheel and overheated the Lithium batteries. Flames spew out from the batteries, fueled by oxygen from the severed line. In a moment a gigantic fireball fit to bring down a Boeing Dreamliner aircraft engulfs the wrinkled little troll and he is gone. Eladio aims a fire extinguisher at the smoldering remains as Julia and Amanda try to squeeze out some obligatory tears.

Oops, Oh, wait, I think I dozed off right in the middle of my praise for your recap Cynderella. I was dreaming. Where was I? I also liked Clara's assumption concerning her knees at her new job. I watched this whole mess and thought, "So I sit through a whole hour of weeping and gnashing of teeth to see that Mouth Breather is preggers?" Then I read your recap today and I think, "Wow, Fun episode."

OK Cunswello, which planet are you and Julia from? After TWENTY-FIVE years of abject misery at the hands of Eladio, you suddenly can't keep your panties on around him, right? Now we have Connie, who Erik has cheated on, lied to, called her every name in the book and even told her he DOES NOT want their child she is carrying. Now you are so torn up over his condition that you got yourself in the ER? Which planet are you two from? Because the Earth women who I have known, if I had pulled half of what you two have been subjected to, I'd be missing some parts.

I had been under the impression that Amanda and her husband were in Europe, but I don't recall there having been more than one conversation about it. As to why they dumped Gabriela in the GL torture chamber I can't guess unless they were clueless in the beginning. Still, that doesn't excuse it because it's obvious that Amanda knew something since then.

I doubt that Dani has hit an epiphany about herself and her disgusting one-upwomanship game she plays against Regina. Now that this crisis with Erick has gotten worse she might even up the ante on this.

David's thing about it not taking one more day is another Eladio trait coming out on the heels of the jealousy over Jorge. This is not going to go anywhere good.

Did not read this until I was at work, and coffee being snorted up my nose holding back laughter is not pretty. " She'll name it Vienna Sausage" I mean, that is plain brilliant!!! love it all Cynderella.

So I am still watching this, but my brain is starting to implode over a lot of the plot development. So Gaby can't trust Franco, but hey let me marry the guy right away 'cos in my blind haze I'm sure that will keep him in line. The poor babies in this thing and their gene pools.

And then the parents. Ok, I expected either some flower children types or dirt poor relatives barely scrubbing two pennies together. Instead we get nice, steady folks who seem to have much more of their s*** together than Julia and Eladio. And yet, they let Gaby live there instead of with them...why???? If the man has 100 employees, he's doing ok. And HE PAID debts too--seriously, someone push that old geezer down the stairs.

SOOOO bored with the young 'uns lately. And Artie, you are a CEO of a large company who never hesitates to air your dirty laundry with your competitior in public. You, yes YOU, have made your family ripe for every little bit of news, dirty or otherwise, that happens with them, and to have it splayed across the papers. I don't think the GL's need to do that for anyone. What a total idiot!!! And let's add, hiding the truth from police now to idiot moves.

I can't even with Connie anymore. Use to like her, now she's becoming an annoying gnat. ( Sorry to Altair who I usually love).

Augie picking up Connie--if that isn't a hero move I don't know what is. Still say this guy is going to wind up with everything at the end as he picks up the pieces of these two lame-brains.

Daisynjay

Urban I do not believe Dani for a second. But in this story, we see some unbelievable personality changes. Eladio, Julia, Consuelo. So I guess it is possible.

Oh, and Clara now qualified to be a whiz bang computer ?something? after one tutoring session with Miggy. A word of advice to Connie: If Miggy is as adept between the sheets as he is on a keyboard, grab him before he gets away. He will have you throwing rocks at Chimp Boy. Speaking of, can't we just stick a banana in his mouth, order some flowers and plant him? I'm just over him.

annoying gnat: life support system for reproductive organs

-- Ann: You raise a very interesting point about Caridad wanting to care for Marintia's baby. The reason I can think of is perhaps wanting to relive the motherhood she missed while she was imprisoned. She is hoping to vicariously raise Franco through raising Franco Jr.

-- UA: I got the same impression as you regarding the Mouthbreather's pregnancy. I think that, though she might not be fully aware of all the parameters at play, Marintia is trying to "pull a Caridad". She is attempting to tie up the rich but definitely-not-single guy with a (un)planned pregnancy. Now that Marintia knows Eladio is the abuelo, she has even more reasons to have this baby.

Marintia and Franco met in highschool, not Business School. Not sure if either one of them went to university at all, given that Franco has been Eladio's right-hand man at GLA for 8 years now (He is 23 years old going on 24). Marintia was stuck in some dead-end admin job when Franco tracked her down and got her an interview at GLA. He coached her extensively prior to the interview and lobbied his Pa-padrino to hire her. She has proven to be an incompetent assistant on many an occasion. The "automotriz" fiasco is her most obvious blunder but Eladio caught her many times distracted, not at her desk, letting visitors barge into his office unannounced, flirting with Franco, etc. I constantly have to adjust my beanie to get over why Eladio has not fired her yet!

As for Gabi's parents, it has been mentioned a couple of times that they are living in Aguascalientes (not sure if they meant the city itself or some other place in the state of Aguascalientes). I don't think there was ever any mention of Europe but even if Gabi's parents had been living in Europe, it doesn't explain why they left their only child behind. Europe has houses and schools and universities and roads and hospitals and everything parents could need to raise and educate a little Gabi. If they had been living in Europe all this time, then leaving their only daughter in Mexico in the care of someone they dislike and consider a violent and volatile person is even more disturbing to me.

-- Susanlynn: That was a dizzyingly quick turnaround indeed! Gabi is even more fickle than her aunt: I think Franco is cheating on me, I'm breaking up with Franco, I don't wanna talk about my breakup but I'm crying in the living room so that everyone in the house can talk to me about the breakup I don't wanna talk about, I reject Auggie but I'm not indifferent to Auggie, I go to Auggie's office in a tight Hoochie Mama mini-dress to dissuade him from pursuing me further, I go back with Franco but ask him to slow things down, I decide to marry Franco 48 hours later... This kid is another specimen of the crazy Vallado genes!

-- Diana: I hope you're right in your prediction that Meanladio will be making a comeback soon. I miss that sexy suave baddie! As for Auggie, to be honest, I lost interest in who he gets fixed up with. I am however very curious to find out about his shower routine and his choice of sleepwear!

-- Steve: That's a GOLDEN bun in the oven! Ka-Ching!

Thanks for another scintillating raucous treat, Cynderella. Some of my faves:

"She's vulnerable so I took the opportunity to freely molest her."

"...know that your brother is boinking your wife and your child is calling him daddy."

"Marintia suddenly gets maternal instincts..."

Top notch stuff.

In retrospect, Marintia pretty much pre-announced her pregnancy when she solicited Caridad's support and pointed out the similarities between her situation and that which Caridad had faced. Turns out even more so.

I'm going to cheer on the new improved more mature Dani. Not that I want her to be a better person... just smarter.

Carlos

-- Vivi: I don't think the why and when of Gabi's living at the GL mansion has ever been explained in the novela. Her moving to El D.F. to go to uni was just an assumption that we PyP Patio peeps made because we didn't understand why this girl, who is not an orphan, is living at Eladio's house, on his dime and under his tutelage.

I too used to assume that she moved to Mexico City for her university studies, but I changed my mind based on the last few episodes. I personally think that Gabi has been living at the GL mansion way longer that we initially presumed. In a scene where Eladio comforted Gabi during her brief breakup from Franco, he told her that she's known Franco almost all her life. Yesterday, Julia told Amanda that she can still remember the first time Amanda brought Gabi as a "jovencita" to live at her house. Seeing how Gabi is now aged between 19 and 22 years old, "jovencita" can be anything from 12 to 20 years. However, the way Julia recalled it gave me the impression that she was talking about a "jovencita" in her early rather than late teens. If we add to this the fact that Franco asked Eladio for Gabi's hand and that Gabi said on more than one occasion that David is her brother, then I think it is quite plausible that Gabi has spent a significant chunk of her formative years at the GL mansion.

-- Sandy: I'm my Daddy's little girl so I found that scene between Regina and Arturo very moving. I do like Regina but as someone who has a fierce sense of loyalty to their family, I think that not a single Montenegro child knows what loyalty to the family or "family goes first" mean. In this aspect, I feel very badly for both Arturo and Nina.

-- Kirbo: Your scenario for Humberto's demise in a fiery ball of flames, sleaze and bitterness had me in tears! It's the perfect Karmaggedon for that rolling cloud of doom, as NM likes to call him. Many thanks for the laugh!

-- Daisynjay: I agree with everything you said in your post. Every Gabi-related thing in yesterday's episode had me tightening my beanie nearly to the point to cutting off oxygen to my brain! I wish the writers made that girl orphan because everything would have made a lot more sense. And don't get me started on the fact that Amanda managed to dodge Hummy-duty all these years, a fact that made many of us assume that they must be estranged, then yesterday she greets her father like they were just on the phone a couple of days prior! I can't remember their exchange exactly but I remember thinking that it was odd in light of the information we have.

During the charity fundraiser/fashion show, Julia explained to Auggie, I believe, that her niece was with them in D.F. to complete her degree (carrera= course of study/degree).

-- Vivi: I can't remember that far back but I trust your super memory. It's all the proof I need! Cheers for getting back to me on this. :)
This explains why Gabi is living at Eladio's house but not why he's giving her a handsome monthly stipend, why he's having a say in who she does or doesn't date, why he's telling Auggie that she is under his tutelage, why he's giving her hand away in marriage, why he's paying for her wedding and a lot of other odd occurrences.

It is obvious, though, that Amanda is very ill at ease around Humberto. Any pleasantness she showed in that scene is about how Old Money behaves in difficult situations. Wherever she and her husband live the obvious intent was to get away from Humberto and his toxic waste dump of a mouth. He can't die fast enough for me.

Nandicta, the problem with the whole "family comes first" dictate is that it's often used to restrict the children to whatever their parents demand at the expense of their own growth and happiness. In this case we have a toxic family situation where a narcissistic mother plays favorites with the children behind the back of a workaholic father until the children are old enough that she can't hide this anymore. The pecadilloes of small children are easily hidden because they're mostly in the home during a father's working hours, but things like drug use and binge drinking -- particularly when the offender is caught on social media -- can't be hidden remotely as easily.

Daniela is also a skilled manipulator because she has an expert teacher (Nina).

Erick has shown that he will betray his family for a whore. He's completely self-indulgent and had no conscience about betraying his father for a big cash payout, followed by trying to throw Regina under the bus. The fact that Nina refused to take this seriously calls her own loyalty into question. Arturo's failure to really come down on him for this is out of his own guilt for not paying enough attention in the past. He should have disowned him over that.

Oops; posted too soon.

Eladio is giving Gabriela's allowance and paying for her wedding because he can. The amount of money involved is pocket change to him. It's the least he owes her after the years she has witnessed his larger abuses and likely experienced some smaller ones. He should have doubled her allowance after Humberto moved in.

As to the whole issue of asking for a daughter's (or ward's) hand in marriage, you've all already read my opinion on that. To quote Arturo, "She's an adult and makes her own decisions."

Nandicta- Nope. It does not explain why Gabi and her parents seem to have given over all parental and decision-making rights to Eladio, just because he and Julia have taken on supporting her while she's in college. I get it about setting rules, while she's living in their house, and getting a living stipend from them (and likely paying her tuition). But when it came to the whole relationship with Franco, the writers should have shown her on the phone/skype with her parents, explaining and asking for their approval, and even a trip to Aguascalientes, paid for by Franco, for the two of them to go speak to her parents in person.

It was made clear this episode that Julia and her sister have spent time with each other over and their families the years, as her sister and BIL were asking if Franco was still jealous/envious of David (she brushed it off as childhood competitiveness), and if he had become a jerk like Eladio.

The mistake of the writers was in not showing us that Julia and Gabi have an ongoing relationship and regular communication with Amanda and her husband. They should have just done the same thing as they did with invisible Lulis (for Dani) and Fanny (for Nina)-- regularly show one-way conversations with an invisible Amanda, until they finally hired an actress to play her.

-- UA: I'm with you that the Montenegro kids are the way they are partly because of their parents who have been mostly absent and fomented rivalries and divisions between the children and let them get away with all sorts of toxic behavior. However, it is still sad for me to see children disrespecting their parents, siblings hating each other, a son betraying his father, sisters fighting over a guy, brothers fighting over a woman... Though there are other factors that influence the way children turn out, Arturo and Nina definitely had a hand in the way the collapse of their family and I can't help but feel sorry for them.

If Gabi were living in my house and pursued her studies as fervently as we have seen so far she would be cut off. Compared to Gab, Clara's thirty minute 'Computer Course' makes her look like a bookworm. These "Students" are a far cry from my student days of ulcers and Calculus and Differential Equations and being sleep deprived for years on end. I suppose I was just too serious back then.

Re: Art and Erik. Parents willingly raise these monsters then feign shock and disbelief when their creation turns on them.
k

Nandicta- Do you think Regina isn't loyal to the family because she refuses to dump David? I'm not sure if I would count that as disloyalty. In that same sense, then David is being disloyal to his family.

For sure, Art needs to take a hard look at his relationship with each of his children. Miguel feels no guilt about making a play for Erick's wife, because they were not raised as brothers. They grew up in the same house, but Nina made sure Erick did not treat Miguel as a brother (instead as an enemy), and Arturo let it happen and didn't treat Miguel as a son. When he told unconscious Erick that the day he was born was the happiest day of his life, I felt really bad for Miguel. Obviously, Art did not greet Miguel's birth (not long before Erick's) happily.

But neither Miguel nor Regina would sell out a family member, or the company.

Both Erick and Dani have knowingly shared family/company secrets, simply because they are greedy, capricious, and selfish.

A theory on Gaby/Amanda/Gaby's Dad:

Amanda marries Gaby's Dad, moves to small town

Humberto racks up more debt

Humberto hits up Eladio for more dough

Eladio tells him to roll the hell on because he already paid his debts once, he's not doing it again

Humberto pressures Amanda/Gaby's Dad to pay

Paying Humberto's debts caused Gaby's parents to have severe financial problems & have to work night & day to recoup their losses & they had to severely scale back their lifestyle, including what they had provided for Gaby (probably private schools, etc).

Because they had a financial crisis & were working all the time, they decided to send Gaby to Eladio & Julia's, where E/J could enroll Gaby in private school & they knew Julia would be able to spend more time with Gaby than they could.

The crisis was over but Gaby liked being in the big city with all of its luxuries than the small town back home, plus she had formed friendships with David & Franco, so the decision was made that Gaby would stay. Gaby was probably nearing adulthood at this point so there was no point in shipping her back to the small town, only for her to return in a few months to the city. A lot of people don't want to uproot their child if they're in their last year or so of high school.*

Gaby & her parents were thrilled to see each other, so there are no hard feelings there.

Amanda looks like a suburban mom in a dishwashing liquid commercial & her dad looks like he sells cell phones at the AT&T Authorized Reseller place, so they are obviously not as well off as Eladio & Julia. However, Gaby's dad employs 100 people so he's not doing too badly. Unfortunately a lot of times business owners will forgo paying themselves in order to pay their employees & keep the business afloat.

-- Vivi: I am in complete agreement with what you said and I would add that Gabi's parents should not have accepted that someone pay a monthly stipend to their daughter unless she earned that money working or helping out around the house. Furthermore,I recall many of us wondering why Gabi continues living at the GL mansion after getting yelled at and manhandled by Eladio when Julia left the hospital. Her reaction was so odd: she had parents, she had money and she had a brain, why did she choose to stay at her Tios' house after that incident? Like you said, the writers dropped the ball on this one. They could've introduced some one-sided phone conversations between Gabi and her parents here and there, and problem solved!

-- Vivi: Re Regina and David. Regina choosing David over her father is disloyalty, in her father's eyes. Just as Arturo pursuing Julia would look like a betrayal in Regina's eyes. I think Regina has been disloyal insofar as she chose to pursue a romantic relationship with someone who: a) is the son of her father's worst ennemy and, b) boinked her sister. She knew these facts about David well before dating him or falling in love with him. I understand that she doesn't care about her younger sister for a variety of reasons but she is her father's "adoración". I personally think she should not have gotten involved with that boy to begin with. Right now it's too late because they have fallen in love and built a committed relationship. My personal opinion is that she could've preempted this, especially when David confessed to her that he had sex with her sister (He didn't say the word "sex" per se but he said that he went out with Dani in Cancun. Dani + Cancun = Sex). On the other hand, David wanting to date Regina made sense to me at the time: He's attracted to the gal and he can't stand his father, so pursuing her was no biggie to him.

In my personal opinion, it would've been more convincing given Regina's personality, to have her fall for David BEFORE knowing he is a Gomez Luna who slept with her sister. Then I would've been like: "Oh well, what's a girl to do? She's already in love, she can't do anything about it now."

-- Kirbo: "Art and Erik. Parents willingly raise these monsters then feign shock and disbelief when their creation turns on them." True but Arturo's sad puppy eyes and Nina's distress got to me last night. What can I say? I'm a softie.

I understand what you're saying. It would have taken a lot of gymnastics by the writers to have David and Gina working together without them knowing each others' last names. They fell in love, not just because they thought the other was pretty (as is usual in tns), but because they shared the same interests/work/passions/etc. I think even if Gina hadn't said yes to dating him, they still would have fallen in love from all those months working together in Queretaro.

Vivi, I have wondered how many times novela writers begin a series with "keeping our options open" about certain characters or plot points. In LQLVMR we never met Natalia and Adolfo's parents although there was no statement they had died. This came up multiple times in our discussions until we finally decided that they ultimately couldn't cast the roles for whatever reason.

FELS' writers never gave an adequate explanation about why the Reyes children were on their own after their parents were murdered when a maternal uncle turned up later who should have been contacted to help them. That showed a lack of proper planning on the producer's and writers' parts.

Nandicta, I have always been of the mind that parents need to earn respect and should not expect it as their due. Sibling rivalry can happen even when parents don't sow the seeds for it and the parents have to try to manage it. Parents should also not demand that their children pursue careers they are not suited for or choose their life partners. How will those children every learn to make their own decisions and learn from their own mistakes?

Having said that, it's a balancing act that can't be easy, especially with a child like Daniela. A few episodes ago Arturo almost hit her and he stopped himself. This caused me to have a flashback to a past situation in my own family. My father had never hit either me or my brother when we were small kids but when my brother ran away from home at the age of 10 or 11 and my father searched for him and brought him back, he hit him with his belt. That was the first and only time he had ever done such a thing and he was shaking after that. The infraction was big but not on remotely the same level as Daniela betraying her family by working as the spokesperson for the competition. So give Arturo some credit for not losing it.

As to Regina and David, they were attracted to each other from the moment they met. Regina was engaged to Joshua, whom Daniela went after just to vex Regina. Daniela went after David in Cancun, fooled around with him, played with his feelings, and dumped him when another guy gave her a more expensive necklace than was appropriate in the moment. Turnabout is fair here.

Arturo was perfectly fair about this relationship in the beginning and Regina and David kept their personal and professional lives apart and in order. However, the revelation about Daniela's having boinked David in the past came on the heels of Eladio gloating at Arturo over something else and one can't fault him for his Ick Factor about all this.

-- Anon207: Amanda's husband, whose name is Israel by the way, said something about paying Humberto's debts in the state of Durango. This had me wondering whether Hummy had racked up debt in all 32 states of the República! This guy's gambling must've been so unbelievably out of control to lose an aristocratic family's entire fortune AND roam the country's casinos accumulating colossal debts along the way. No wonder Eladio's been cutting him off! I can't remember the conversation word for word, but I got the impression that Israel paying part of Humberto's debts was the condition for him to be allowed to marry Amanda; the same way that Eladio had to save the Vallado family from scandal and financial ruin in order to be allowed to court Julia. Basically, as many on the Patio said before, that nasty decrepit troll can not die fast enough!

-- UA: I see where you're coming from and I agree that Arturo has demonstrated a lot of self-restraint with his children, a little too much for my taste. The only times I sympathize with Arturo at all is when he's battling with the screws-ups of his children. I don't excuse him or absolve him of the responsibility he has a father but i feel sorry for him. What Dani did signing an exclusivity contract with Gomez Luna and gloating about it to her father deserved a smack. I would've smacked her. What Erick did betraying his father and the family company deserved at the very least dismissal from his job at GM and banishment from the family mansion. Still, I don't understand how pursuing a married woman fits in the grand scheme of things when Arturo should be dedicating every ounce of time and energy to solving his family problems.

Thanks for identifying him so I don't have to do too many rewinds. I think you're right about that conversation.

Humberto had some damned nerve accusing his daughters of being selfish when he almost bankrupted one son-in-law and tries to leech more from the other. If he racked up debts in all 32 states (not a stretch of the imagination) he doesn't deserve anything. He should be banished to a facility with an all-male staff and only the bare essentials if the writers aren't planning to kill him soon. And both his daughters should never visit him again.

-- UA: You're welcome. Regarding Humberto, as I watched him spew his venom yesterday, I kept wondering why are all these people putting up with this nasty piece of work? Had they allowed a few of his limbs to be broken by a loan-shark or his sorry behind to stew in jail over the unpaid debts, they wouldn't have to endure his toxic words and vile antics.

Oh, I wish we could edit our posts.

Since Arturo couldn't break Daniela's contract what should he have done? Smacking her would be inadequate at this point although the impulse is highly understandable. Totally agree about the Erick solution. However, the problem with both is the same: Scandal that will hurt the business. Whatever punishment Arturo could have meted out would be irrelevant when you can't keep the intrusive press out of your business.

And Nina continues to fail to see how both these situations hurt the company bottom line.

It could be that both Eladio and Arturo are in love with the idea of Julia. We know that Arturo and Julia had hot romance-novel sex when they were engaged. We know that she thinks of the feelings of others. She is unpretentious in spite of the wealth she grew up in. The big question neither has truly addressed is to what degree they've both changed because of the last 25 years and to what degree have they held themselves back.

Carlos from 2/1/16--8:41PM EST There's simply no way you can know this.

Carlos---It's obvious that you have been spending too many nights and long hours at the "bad ass" table out on the patio consuming way too many adult beverages. As a result of this, your brain has become hazy and clouded over, rendering your statements to become almost laughable. May I suggest that you lay off the hard stuff at least for a night or two and instead of those strong beverages that you are so accustomed to, try a tall cold glass of milk. Regular or reduced fat, either one will do wonders with clearing away the fog and haze that is now engulfing your brain cells.

No need to pay or thank me when your condition clears up, I'm always here to help.

Urban: I'm wondering about Purple Lips & her past & what's she's so ashamed of that she spews her hatred towards Regina besides her hostility towards Miguel!

I've had family members experienced to what Miguel & Regina went through!

I am thinking Arturo might end up on that therapist's couch, too (not Nina, though).

Arturo is not concerned about Regina betraying Grupo Montenegro; if he cared that much about Grupo Montenegro he would have:

a) booted Erick from the company when he learned Erick betrayed Grupo Montenegro. I realize Erick is his child; however, his child cost Arturo and the Grupo Montenegro Board of Directions millions of pesos/dollars. If Arturo wanted to keep Erick in the company, he could've booted him down to customer service or a trainee program until he learned better.

b) told Regina he couldn't stop her from dating David. However, if she insists on being with David she cannot be employed at Grupo Montenegro or enter Grupo Montenegro headquarters or job sites. If she does, she'll be arrested for trespassing. Good luck, & with your skills you'll employment elsewhere.

c)employed Daniela as the Grupo Montenegro spokesmodel. She would've been a natural fit. Arturo didn't tell Erick he had to go work himself up the ranks at some other company so he shouldn't have done that with Daniela. If Arturo was willing to give Erick a pass on knowingly passing corporate secrets to the rival company and let him stay employed at Grupo Montenegro (!) he should've given the same hookup to Dani, too.

d)brought Miguel into the company sooner and demanded that Nina, Erick & Daniela give Miguel his proper respect. Why would Miguel respect Nina, Erick or Daniela as stepmother/siblings when Arturo let them treat him like trash, calling him bastard, dummy etc.? Miguel doesn't respect Erick as his brother because they weren't raised as brothers...it was Miguel over there and the siblings Erick, Regina & Daniela. That's all on ARTURO.

But Art isn't worried about GM; he's only worried about not being able to get into Julia's pants. He is risking it all to get with a flaky weak woman who changes her mind daily on whether she wants to be with him or not.

Arturo needs to sit on that couch and figure out his life and I predict he'll be the next one on the sofa (again, not Nina!).

I just don't know if I can muster enough hate to give Franco and Hummy the amounts of hate they deserve. I will dig deep and try. In the grand scheme of things Hummy sold his daughters to pay gambling debts. Also, Remember when Eladio brought him the Gognac? And when he was left at the dinner table alone and finished off the wine? So that smelly old turd has a drinking problem too.

I know girls always love Daddy no matter what. But like L Ron Hubbard (The Road Less Traveled) said, " You have zero responsibility for what your parents do to you when you are a child, but when you become an adult, you have 100 percent responsibility for fixing it." IE: Nandicta and UA, let the obnoxious old cretin sit in some moldy nursing home and do not invite him into your home to continue his malevolence. GRRRRR

I do not believe that Nina "hates" Regina. She might not like or understand her but hate? No.

Now Nina "hates" Miguel, but "hates" Regina? I'm not seeing it.

Anon207- Except, banning Gina from the company would have actually hurt his bottom line, since she has saved his bacon a few times and is the only one of his kids that actually knows the construction biz. And having Dani anywhere she could get more confidential info would have resulted in the same kind of costly betrayal as he saw with Erick.

Gringo at 12:29. You truly are an Angel of mercy. :-)

Great recap & comments

Toward the end of the episode, Dani showed Art a picture of Erick on her cell phone which enraged Art toward David. I didn't quite get that, it seemed like another opp to poison Dave & Gina's relationship.

Variopinta- The story Dani showed Art was about the police accusing Erick of killing Monse. As this was not public knowledge yet, Art correctly guessed it was someone who heard them talking in the hospital who leaked the info. He's correct. That person was traitor Angeles (his assistant), who was standing right there when Consuelo went after the cops. Art wrongly assumed it was David.

Wow, so many interesting comments. You are all paying attention and analyzing this crazy a lot more than I am. I am basically hanging in there to see if Augie will get lucky with someone...anyone . My guess is that Silver Fox will be there to pick up the Gaby pieces after Frank suffers a sling or an arrow of outrageous fortune. #jammiesandshowers

As to why Gaby is living with Eladio and Julia, wasn't there a comment in the original introduction to this novela in which the characters were described about Gaby being bored where she was living so she wanted to live with her tia in the BIG city? ..or did I just dream that?

.

How long is it going to be before Arturo knows that Angeles is a traitor? She must have worked there for ages for him not to suspect her. How long has she been feeding into to Franco?

Getting back to him for a second his comments about it being better for Erick to die are a real red flag. He definitely has the worst of Eladio in him, which isn't that surprising. Even the part about not getting his own hands dirty. He is smarter than Erick but not as smart as he thinks he is: He should be far more worried about Regina because she is light years smarter than Erick.

Back to Arturo: He did make Daniela start at the bottom. It didn't work. He is right in denying her a spokesmodel job because that would be handing her something she didn't earn. This is a lesson she never learned and Nina has at least 50% of the blame for that. I'm inclined to think it was more because she kept on filling her head with the idea that her beauty is all she needs to bag a man with a major bank account who will buy her everything she wants. This lesson didn't take with Regina, who has a work ethic like Arturo's.

As for Miguel, he didn't want to work for the family business at the beginning of the story. He was doing computer tech stuff and teaching computer science and earning his own dinero. Arturo didn't have an issue with that. It was Nina who wanted to throw him out like garbage because he's not her spawn.

I still say that Art' relentless pursuit of Julia is due to a massive midlife crisis that has made him think that the grass would been so much greener with his young love. I just heard a great quote " Today's decisions are tomorrow's rea!ity. " Art, buddy, you cannot have a do-over (mulligan?)of that foolish decision that you made 25 years ago that cost you the fair Julia. You. Ade your bed a !ong time sgo and hasve s!kept in it wuite hsppiky jt seems until you saw her again. Besides, no matter how much one may pine for a first love, 25 years brings many changes. ..both inside and out. I have only seen one of my old beaus in recent years. I am thankful to have my images of the others live as they were in my kind memory... Lovely, funny, relatively carefree young men who remain just so and never age or change in my memories.Time to just be thankful for the memories ,Art, because that girl you knew, loved, and lost is gone .

SusanLynn: Silver Fox/Gabi. That was my advice to Auggy a looong time ago. Forget the flowers and being sickeningly nice and boyfriend girlfriend. Wait and tag her as her divorce lawyer. Her marriage to Francoturd will be over soon. At the very most a tad less than 9 months. Right Marintia?

Sorry for all the typos. My tablet and I are breaking up ..or maybe I just have to type slower and proofread better. Apologies

Spell check where did you go for a minute? :-)

Kirbo..no, no. I want Silverfox to win over the fair Gaby by being the sweet, strong, reliable hero. He is hopelessly devoted to Gaby. Let him be that true galan and prove that chivalry lives.

SusanLynn This sounds awful but it is true. After what Franco is going to do to Gabi she will be damaged goods and not worth a nickel to herself or anyone else for a while. If Silver can not head this train wreck off at the pass, I am afraid the window is closing on a happily ever after for Silver/Gabi.

Then Arturo has no one to blame but himself for not hiring Daniela as a spokesmodel. Can't feel sorry for him on that one. She came to him and said "Hey dad, I'd like to model for Grupo Montenegro" and he said no. So Dani showed some work ethic and got another job like he told her too. It's not her fault that job happened to be with his competitor. Tough breaks.

Arturo DOESN'T know that Dani is passing secrets to Eladio but he DOES know Erick passed secrets to Eladio and he kept Erick in a high ranking position. For all he knows ERICK could be the mole at Grupo Montengro, there's certainly a precedent for it.

As far as bottom line is concerned, Arturo doesn't care about the bottom line because he still has Erick in his employ and made a dirty business deal with Assmore that was also bad business. Telling Regina she can't come around as long as she's with David is actually GOOD business because he can rest assured that Regina isn't the mole.

It's also not good business to NOT hire your own daughter to be the spokesmodel for YOUR business. Now all of Mexico City sees Daniela Montenegro pitching GOMEZ LUNA & ASSOCIATES. If your own daughter is marketing GLA, why would anyone hire GM over GLA?

Arturo could've easily placed Miguel in a tech support position from the beginning, to oversee building & maintenance & security of the GM construction & hotel websites. Miguel could've been building apps for GM from the beginning.

I'm not understanding why Erick gets to be a slack ass, screw up the company and stay on board in the same position he screwed up in, but Miguel, Regina & Daniela need to work themselves up from the bottom.

Arturo is going to lose it all and it will be his own fault.

Regina would never be the mole because she isn't a jerk like her siblings. Even Art never believed she was the mole when it first came out she was dating David, and Erick accused her. She just won them a HUGE contract and is overseeing it. She already privy to secret info, even if she never steps foot in the office, because she's actually in charge of stuff and making the company money. It would be incredibly stupid of him to not have hired her, one of the best young architects in the biz, just because she's dating David. Her work ethic has never been in question. She's more ethical and fair than Art is himself!

Erick was demoted. He now answers to Augustin, who doesn't take any crap from him. He also has no current temptation to sell secrets to the enemy. It's also a good thing that he's in a coma because he can't do any more damage.

Giving Daniela a spokesmodel job would look like the worst kind of nepotism to the public and would also be rewarding her past bad behavior. She is smarter than Erick which isn't saying much because she fails to see that Eladio will use hiring her against Arturo. Daniela isn't smart enough to understand how this will affect her own circumstances; all she sees is a way to show up the poor expectations Arturo has (justifiably) come to have of her and a way to go after David to show up Regina.

If Daniela is smart enough to know what buttons to push on Regina and her parents, she should also see that her father admires good grades, a solid work ethic, and a commitment to doing your work well. If that is what it takes to get his positive attention, why is she so hell-bent on doing the opposite?

Which reminds me that based on the terms of Eladio's contract, she will crash and burn fairly soon.

Miguel didn't want to work for Art when this started. Art had to beg him a few times to do so. Art's fault there is never before making Miguel truly feel like he wanted him by his side and really cared.

I think he was totally right in making Dani find her own way and her own work. Her problem up till that point was that everything was handed to her, and they always let her take the easy way out (like Erick). Handing her the job as Montenegro spokesmodel would have been more of the same, and she would not have taken it seriously. She's taking her job at GLA seriously because Eladio is NOT her father, and she knows there are consequences attached like him suing her a** if she breaks her contract. That wouldn't have been the case had she worked for daddy's company, and I'm sure there would have been lots of missed photo calls while she recovered from partying all night. SHE'S the one in the wrong here. She chose to work for Eladio because she knew it would hurt her father.

Art should have done to Erick what he did to Dani. He should have started out working somewhere else, building his skills, just like Gina, Miguel and David did (note, all the young people who actually have a work ethic and act professionally), before he started working for Art.

A !ot of these folks are their own worst enemies. They are constantly stepping on their own feet. People should T.H.I.N.K. before they act or speak. Maybe this show is also a PSA about not spoiling your children.

Vivi...yes, Art is so busy pursuing his dream girl that he has not been taking care of business for quite awhile. You are right that he has no one to blame but himself. Unfortunately, this happens in real life. Some guys throw a good life away with both hands. No sympathy for those guys.

Thanks, Cynderella.

Gaby moving in with Julia and Eladio when she went to university sounds right to me. Since Franco dated Marintia when he was in high school, Gaby would've known Marintia back then if she'd lived with Julia.

I'm done with Caridad. She should tell Gaby about Franco's baby or make Franco do it -- before any wedding. Caridad is a big fat enabler, one of those moms who foists her lousy son on some unsuspecting bride in the hopes that said bride will change him for the better. Yuck.

Another boo! on Caridad for blabbing that the nieto would be Eladio's. Caridad, you are washing out as a mom.

I've been on the fence about Miguel -- creepy or not. Okay, no love loss between him and his younger brother, who treated him like crap as if he was entitled to (which of course he was, actively by Nina and passively by Art). But I saw no empathy from Miguel for a grieving Art last night. Not one iota of emotion out of Miguel. Miguel, you should thank Erick for bringing a woman into the home that you could fall in love with, because you certainly weren't going to leave the house to find a woman on your own.

Art and Erik. Parents willingly raise these monsters then feign shock and disbelief when their creation turns on them.

Kirbo, good point. But Art at least has regrets and is trying (perhaps ineptly) to make up for them. Eladio, on the other hand, is a big hypocrite for being shocked at Franco's meanness and cruelty. Hombre, Franco learned all his vice at your knee. Like Caridad, Eladio knows Franco isn't fit for Gaby, yet he does nothing about it.

Niecie..yes..what she said .

A that's another thing that happens in real life. Parents remaining silent about their children's problems and hoping that the unsuspecting spouses will change them.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I know that I go over the top sometimes. You all must be in the "not easily offended category". LOL

Franco is not doing anything to Erick that Erick didn't do to him. Erick even robbed him and left him there to bleed to death. I'm not saying that two wrongs make a right, but Erick was dumb from no making sure that Franco lived to find out who gave who a beat down. Erick was dumb.

I love Humberto. He is so awesome. He might be mean and cranky, but he is right. I'm in the minority, I know. I don't think that Humberto did anything wrong by accepting help from his daughter's suitors. If my parent were in trouble, and I was dating a bazillionaire, I would hope that the bazillionaire would help us. Yes, I should not expect it. But, Humberto gets on his daughters' nerves, but Julia still keeps him around so obviously she still loves him. If my parent is homeless and living in the gutter, how can I sleep at night? The bazillionaires did it to make their novia's happy. I'm probably gonna get hate mail, but this kind of sort of thing happened to me and the guy helped out my mother. I was very grateful because he was so generous and us.

I keep repeating myself, but I want mean, rotten, low-down Evil Eladio back. He is awesome! Maybe his character can be a Basurto or Fofito from Lo Que La Vida Me Robo. They were a assassins, but both Carlotta and Josefina felt loved until the bitter end. Can't Eladio treat Julia nice, but be mean to everyone else. Right now he's boring and neutered. He is so hot when he's awful.

So hiring Daniela is nepotism but hiring Erick (and Regina*) isn't?

If Daniela is taking her GLA job seriously because she knows there will be consequences and none with Arturo, that's ARTURO's fault. Why should there be consequences for Daniela where there were none for Erick? Oh, Erick was demoted & now answers to Agustin. That's not a consequence, that's just shifting the responsibility from Arturo to Agustin. The fact that Erick is still employed by Grupo Montenegro and not fired/banned/in jail like any other employee would be shows Dani there are no consequences. But again, that falls on Arturo.

So, Erick gets to enjoy nepotism & no consequences while Dani needs to move on up like The Jeffersons? That's not cool.

Sorry, but Arturo can't turn his daughter down for a spokesmodel job, then get mad because she did what he told her to do and got a job elsewhere. That elsewhere happened to be with Gomez Luna & Associates. Daniela shouldn't have taken the job out of family loyalty but her family isn't loyal to her so thems the breaks.

*Regina is good at her job but she wouldn't have gotten past Angeles to show Arturo she was good at her job if her name had been "Smith" instead of "Montenegro".

Marintia got preggers on purpose. Men have no say over reproduction unless they snip it or wrap it. I've always told my sons that.

I disagree, Anon.

If Arturo had fired Erick Nina would have Bobbitted him. It's also easier to accept a first serious offense and learn from it than a second, even if that comes from another (spoiled) child.

Nina has enabled her little Mini-Me all her life. She has thereby created a monster that nobody else can trust. On the one hand she says to her "The next time you want to do anything 'bad' talk to me first so you can get it right" and on the other she will say "Don't go after David because I don't need any more problems with your father." I'll bet this kind of inconsistency is nothing new.

Anon207- Difference is, Regina wouldn't have come asking Art for a job. She was doing just fine on her own. Art is the one who begged her to come work for him, and it's paid off for the company BIG time so far. She already had success as a new young architect, away from her family and D.F. She would have been just fine.

"She'll name it Vienna Sausage".

Oh Lord, only you Cynderella. I'm ranking that right up there with "carrying his milk" and "following the treasure trail". Please make arrangements to donate your brain to science when you're called to the next world. It's got to be unique, absolutely unique.

Some other gems were "has to be in her 15th trimester and still not showing", plus your heartfelt lament for a gratuitous shower scene. No Augustin. No Eladio. Heck, at this point I'd settle for Callao. But no, nada. Televisa has gone all PG on us.

And loved the Pssst....come closer....itty bitty print statement. Pure Cynderella. Just brightened up my day big time, Outrageous Lady.

Well mean old Eladio gave Franco quite a punch. If he were completely Boring GoodEtwoshoes he would have just reasoned calmly with him. The tiger is still lurking in Julia's pussycat.

Maybe the announcement about little Vienna Sausage will pop the cork on our flawed galan.

Thanks as always. You are a danger to yourself and others with this wild out of the blue humor but I love it.

What a great and funny recap Cynderella, thank you so much! "A little Francofurter/Vienna Sausage" I literally LOL'd. Brilliant!

I have to say some of the analyzing in these comments is very deep for me. For me these characters are not fleshed out enough to figure out why or what makes them tick/make the decisions they do. I find this TN very entertaining, but it's weakness is that many of the characters are not well developed enough to get a handle on their psyche. I don't think we're going to get enough eps to resolve the questions either.

I agree that Art/Nina have to assume responsibility for the dysfunction of their family, but even if they had been normal/balanced loving and attentive parents, the rivalry between their children might still have occurred. Siblings regardless of the home they grew up, do not always like each other or get along. It's not true that blood necessarily binds.

I don't see Regina dating David as a betrayal to her father. We can't help who we fall in love with & even though that is the son of her father's enemy, she is not obligated to join her father's fight. What makes David look bad on his own, is his sleeping with two sisters. That for me is the sticking point and I can see Art's side on that one. I don't know how David can ever erase that image from Art's mind. This is messy 101.

I'm sorry folks, I know Miguelito has his champions on here but he rubs me so wrong. I don't care how much he has the feels for Con, it's just plain wrong to be doing this right under his father/Nina's nose. He comes off as a slimy to me. I know Erick is no angel and I'm the first to say Con deserves better *coughAUGIEcough* but Miguel is not it. I wish he would get transferred to where Francisco is and STAY there. I can do w/out his creepy beady eyes.

So Manatee girl is preggers. Caridad girl do me a favor and STFU! I know she wants to be a mother to Franco, but she's starting to wear my nerves, lying for him and covering up for his and Manatee's behavior. Gaby could have been freed of Franco by now if Caridad had zipped her butt. Caridad doesn't look at the big picture, but only the moment in front of her and she also doesn't think before she speaks. I haven't forgotten that this woman slept with a very married Eladio and had his baby. Now she is working directly for Eladio and under Julia's nose. The woman who raised Caridad's child. If Caridad had any real respect for Julia, she would take her hiney out of Eladio's company. Once she found out who Julia was, she should have made tracks and got a job someplace else. Julia is going to reign hell on no only Eladio but Caridad when she finds out how this woman has played her. Caridad is also hurting Gaby, a girl who doesn't deserve it.

I like Gaby's parents. They seem nice and decent.

I still love Eladio, good or bad. I loved that smack he gave Franco, I wish he'd smack the hell out of Hummy.

I'm sorry, there's no justification for saying nepotism & easy going for Erick is fine, but Daniela must toe the line. No wonder she's angry & messed up. Nina is bobbitting Arturo anyway ... this clown cost the company $42 million dollars US for a couple of bucks. At the VERY LEAST he should've been dismissed from Grupo Montenegro. Arturo could simply say to Nina, it's either out of the company or jail time for Erick...which do you prefer?

We're not talking about Nina's parenting influence with regards to GM, because it doesn't matter. Arturo gave a job to Erick via nepotism and kept him on after a multi million dollar corporate secrets giveaway because of nepotism, when if Augustin or anyone else had done the same thing Erick did, they'd be in prison right now. You cannot argue that Daniela should not benefit from nepotism when Erick is currently benefitting from nepotism. Daniela didn't even have to be the Grupo Montenegro spokesmodel, Arturo could've hooked her up with a couple of modeling gigs for the hotels & she probably would've been fine with that.

Instead, after Daniela tells Arturo what she would like to do, he blows her off, tells her she can't benefit from the same nepotism he's giving her brother and to go elsewhere to get a job. She did, and she's still the bad guy?

Arturo begged Regina to come work for GM after Erick screwed up, having given Erick a job via nepotism and kept him on via nepotism & not having to face any real consequences from the corporate espionage he did. Otherwise he wouldn't have & I'm willing to be if Regina HAD asked to work for GM he would've told her the same thing he told Daniela: build yourself up somewhere else.

I wanted to add that Erick needs to wake up. He needs to go to prison for what he did and if Art and Nina cover up his crime, they need to go to Prison too. Art knows good and well what Erick did now and if he wants to be a good father he will make sure his son mans up and faces his penalty.

I have no pity for Erick, laying in that bed. As Cynderella said, Erick tried and succeeded in almost doing the same to Franco. No two wrongs don't make a right, but don't start a war you aren't prepared to finish. Erick is a banana peeling idiot.

'Marintia got preggers on purpose. Men have no say over reproduction unless they snip it or wrap it. I've always told my sons that.'

I agree to a point. Girls can trick you and lie saying they are on the pill when they aren't or forgot to take a pill and yes condoms break. A man has some control, because as I've told my son don't sleep with any girl that you wouldn't want to possibly be hooked to for life. If you have sex with a girl, you are then as responsible for the pregnancy she wouldn't have been able to have w/out your willing participation.

Anon207- Yep. Absolutely Erick should have been fired, and worse. He deserved jail time for what he did. He actually begged Gina to work for him after Erick screwed up AND after she helped save his bacon with the workers' strike. She wasn't actually an employee then. She was just doing Art a favor. She earned her keep even before she officially got on the payroll.

Delilah- Amen. Erick should go straight to jail after he wakes up, and face the law. Shame on Art and Nina if they try to cover up for him again. The first time around, Art DID want Erick to face the law, and was ticked off that he ran and Nina helped him. But he thought he was innocent back then. Now that he knows Erick is guilty, will Art do the right thing?

Cynderella---You're a blast.

There is no way that these two incredibly good looking people made that mutt, Gaby.
Ouch!!!

Vienna sausage? Cynderella, you're bad.

Maternal instincts attached to dollar signs. Yeah right. no abortion there. Will there be an interrupted wedding tonight?

Wow! The comments are getting to be almost more than I can handle. This show is really bringing them on. You guys comments are really good though, very thoughtful.
I think that it's all been said several times over and so I will just settle down and wait for tonight's show.

must see tv
the gringo

" Erick is a banana peeling idiot. " I like that. I may plagiarize it sometime. Not here, of course. Yep, somebody just fricking slip in and unplug him. And if Consuelo sheds a tear, I hope her little Erikito has three eyes. Over her too.

In the later parts of last night didn't I see a Popo standing guard bedside? Now that ErikRobertHead is under arrest I presume they have a guard on him. Oh...the law of unintended consequences. It is going to take a Mexican TN staple now, the old tried and trusted "bribe the popo", get out of jail card. Wishful thinking. This has been dragging on for too long, it is time to thin the gene pool.

The longer Erick stays in the coma the less likely Arturo is to protect him once he thinks seriously about the consequences. "Helping" Erick doesn't mean getting him off scot-free, either. However, there would be a major problem trying to prove this was an accident.

The police did mention that there wasn't enough drugs or booze to constitute an overdose but I don't recall anything about whether she was dead or alive before she hit the roof of the car. She looked dead to me, based on the silence and the fact that her eyes appeared closed.

As I said yesterday unless the writers retconned their story, my alternate theory of the crime is that Eladio or Callao did it and Erick walked in at the wrong time. He was threatened to keep his mouth shut. The Rat had two or more previous "suicide attempts" so an "accident" like this would sound plausible. On the surface of things Ape Child had no motive to kill her, either. Eladio, however, did. He beat the Rat behind a closed door. There was probably no time for bruises to form prior to her death, which occurred between 3 and 4 AM. Eladio or Callao is the most likely to have done this.

The problem was that Erick ran as soon as the police came after him. That will be the worst thing against proving that this was an accident.

Like all parents, the Montenegros will cover for their son. In real life, the best lawyer in the country would be hired to defend him. With less fortunate couples, they would support the court appointed lawyer. Because this type of trial/defense doesn't make exciting novela ratings, my guess is that the Mintenegros will pull some wacky stunt to shield Erik.

I always thought that Dani got a punishment that Erik would never have gotten, cleaning the house. When we don't like someone, we might cheer their downfall, but given the punishments that came Erik's way, Dani got the short end of the stick.

Gringo 5:02. Yeah, I just watch the show so I will understand the recap and comments. And also, of course, hoping for Dani, Regi, Consuelo, Gabi or Clara to take their clothes off.

If you have ever taught in a high school, the concept of parents covering for and protecting their spoiled offspring is not news. What?? My Sonny or Chickie would never a) cheat on a test b) punch a classmate in the nose c) shove a teacher down the bleachers d) use drugs e) sell drugs f)curse at an administrator g) trip the 60 year old janitor h) plagiarize a term paper i) lie to the principal j) carry a gun \knife k)all of the above

I would bet that the teachers in whatever exclusive school Dani and Error attended cringed when NIni showed up at school for a meeting about her kids. Spoiling children is doing them no favor. It sets them up for a lifetime of people detesting them and having no desire to help them or give them the benefit of the doubt.

Cynderella...I like the Goodladio . Nice guys rock.

Cynderella--Such a great read. I regularly wonder if your recaps have any relation to the novela we are watching because they are such good fun, while PyP is getting so tedious.

My head is spinning with the depth and breadth of the comments. I am in awe of our Patio denizens.

One little correction, Nandicta in your comment about Marintia. She and Franco cooked up the scheme to have the auto dealership contract blow up in David's face. They gave David the wrong instruction intentionally. She's been wicked since she got there. That's why Franco picked her.

Delilah63--
Your quote has merit, " If Caridad had any real respect for Julia, she would take her hiney out of Eladio's company. Once she found out who Julia was, she should have made tracks and got a job someplace else." But it was Eladio who used some pressure tactics to get Caridad away from Julia and the Foundation by offering her a job so she could be near Franco. She took it and has been an annoying fly ever since. I don't blame Franco one bit--she seems to pop up everywhere he turns, getting in his business. Mind you, that's not an endorsement of Franco over-all. She believes she's doing the right thing giving him advice, but Franco was doing just fine before, without her interference.

As for getting a job someplace else, it's hard enough for someone who hasn't been in the workforce for many years (i.e. Julia), but it's harder, if not impossible for someone who has a criminal record--for murder. Caridad was hired under a special program for ex-cons. I'm supposing there aren't too many of those opportunities that you turn around and say you don't want to stay there, find me something else.

Vivi
You have an incredible memory, I know you are in DC, you s/b be CIA, FBI

Yes Anita, you said it much better. I don't endorse Franco, but I agree and said it several recap back. Franco has a right to be angry at his mother, and her suddenly popping up everywhere he turns is not the right approach. She's coming on to strong and being overly pushy in wanting him to accept her. Her advice thus far in his personal life has been awful. She doesn't know him well enough to insert herself the way she has. I really resent it.

I also understand her struggle to get a job as an ex con it would not be easy. Still there are cleaning services, and probably food service industries that might have hired her as a start. I appreciate that the woman wants to take advantage of the help she's getting, but it still leaves a bad taste that the aide she is getting will ultimately hurt Julia. Caridad slept with Julia's husband and bore a child from him. Franco was raised by Julia all these years and now Caridad is right under Julia's nose..working right with her husband. Caridad needs to make for other arrangements. Eladio isn't holding her at his company by gunpoint. She's taken enough of Julia's generosity...years of it. I maintain she needs to have some respect for Julia and beat it.

-- Cynderella: I love Humberto too, as in I love what Luis Bayardo is doing with that character. Hummy is utterly and completely wicked, without a single redeeming quality or a smidgen of paternal intuition but goodness gracious is he entertaining! I'd like to see him stick with this till the very end then he could burst into flames like Kirbo described a few comments ago. Thanks again for the brill recap! You killed me with giggles!

-- Delilah: "Erick is a banana peeling idiot." Please! You are offending banana-peeling idiots! :D

-- Anon207: No Montenegro kid would've gotten the position or salary they're getting at Grupo Montenegro if they'd tried their luck in their marketplace without Daddy's help and I'm including Regina in this. She might have talent and pizazz but no fresh-out of school architect is propelled at the head of a construction company a few months after graduation. Like you said, nepotism is rife at GM and Dani should've benefited from it as well. I still maintain that sticking to her father by signing an exclusive contract at GLA without consulting anyone THEN gloating about it with such glee was really nasty. Disclaimer: I cannot stand Arturo but in that specific moment, I felt his heart break and I understood the impulse he had to smack her into the next capítulo. Heck, I would've done it! I would've slapped that purple eyeshadow clear off her smirky face! His awful spawns are partly the result of his terrible parenting and he should try to piece his shattered family together instead of panting after a married woman like a hound in heat. Still, I couldn't help feeling sorry for him in that scene. Those sad puppy eyes of JS get me every time!

-- Anita: You are absolutely right about Marintia and Franco working in cahoots to get Francisco fired, hence the false instructions about the "automotriz" deal. What I meant to do was to list a few instances of Marintia's incompetence from Eladio's point of view. Eladio does not know what we know and as far as he is concerned, Marintia made a colossal mistake that cost the company money. He should've fired her for that blunder or for leaving her desk unattended (to go sit on Franco's lap), or not answering the phones, or getting his coffee late or letting people into his office when he's not there (like she did with Nina) etc, etc, etc. It doesn't make sense to me at all since her predecessor was fired because Gisela barged in unannounced! Then again, if Eladio had fired Marintia, we would have no "Vienna Sausage"! :D

Why are the good guys now the bad guys & visa versa, FC was doing bad so good, hope he returns to it, I'm sure it will happen. Art is a total asshole.
This TN is so ridiculous on so many points, but FC is his usual guapisimo self.
Franco is his perfect hijo, even looks like him.

Nandicta--From Eladio's point of view, you are very correct. And it was Francisco, not David that got the boot. And you are also right, there have been too many instances where Marintia has fallen down on the job to the point of at least putting her on notice. Her solution was to beg for her job. I don't think she'll learn. Now she has a GOLDEN bebe to use as a negotiating tool.

I can't wait to find out if it's BadA**Eladio or Goody2ShoesLadio that gets the news.

I'm with you there, Delila63

-- Variopinta: I know some people might dislike the way this TN is going and that's fair enough but I personally think that the only ridiculous thing about this TN is that it got me so hooked, addicted and emotionally involved it's ridiculous!

I love, love, loooove PyP! I love how it breaks many TN conventions yet keeps that kitschy over-the-top quality we cherish in our TNs. I love that we thought we could predict what will happen but we get surprised and proven wrong at every turn. I love that the writers played me for a sucker and had this reversal of roles (the infamous "switcheroo") planned from the get-go when I initially had played Nostradamus and thought they were paving the way for changes after Julia's accident because of the ratings. I love the great debates this TN spurs on, all the passion it stirs and all the wonderful snark it generates. I love the amazing quartet of protagonists as well as the veteran actors who are delighting us with their performances. I love how FC built the Eladio character piece by piece and layer by layer, going as far as giving it its own separate visual identity (the weird tie knots, the color contrasting suits, the square watch, the pompadour style tapered haircut, the gold pen, the mouthspray, the chunky vintage aviators, the Star Trek jammies, ...)

Sorry for all the gushing but I can't remember the last time I had this much fun watching a TV show, all genres included. Obvio (as Eladio would say), hanging out here after every episode definitely enhances the enjoyment of PyP but this baby is still one humdinger of a TN even for lone watching!

Danilo Carrera is an excellent match to FC. Based on the shape of his face, I'm guessing that in some future novela Jose Pablo Minor will be cast as JS's son.

Nepotism isn't a good thing but we see it all the time. I have no problem with it when the relative is competent and honest. Regina has earned her position, as has Miguel. Erick should have been fired and given a one-way ticket to another city or country, but if Arturo had done that I can imagine Nina's hystrionics.

Anita @6:15, I can't wait for that scene.

-- Anita: Something tells me that the news of becoming an abuelo will bring out the mean in Meanladio! Especially considering that all the Francofurting with Mouthbreather happened right under his nose!

-- UA: Danilo Carrera is cute as a button! I find him so adorable, I wanna adopt him! Now, his Pa-padrino on the other hand... Ufffff! How do you say "Come to Momma!" in Spanish? If I were Julia 25 years ago and that hunk of burning love came to me with his sob story of physical abuse, zero hugs, growing up on the streets and a life devoid of affection, I would've loved the ever-loving heck outta him! I would've loved the mean out his bones!
Ooookay, it's getting late. I'd better hit the hay. Buenas noches a todos! :)

Nandicta, you could be right about that. He doesn't like not being able to control everything around him. That could send him right over the edge.

Just to let you all know that tonight's episode is getting some special treatment so it could be posted a little later than usual.

I love how FC built the Eladio character piece by piece and layer by layer, going as far as giving it its own separate visual identity (the weird tie knots, the color contrasting suits, the square watch, the pompadour style tapered haircut, the gold pen, the mouthspray, the chunky vintage aviators, the Star Trek jammies

I completely agree with all of this. It truly show what a master FC is in his craft. He could have just taken the role and played it as a mustache twirling villain but he has truly infused Eladio with so many things that set him apart. The little touches as you stated certainly add to it all, but I find myself very mesmerized by his body language which has it's own voice. The way he whips his shades off, the use of his hands (two fingers). The purposeful slow stride when he enters as if he has all the time and those waiting on him should appreciate that he has arrived. It's all so wonderful! I find myself riveted to his every move. FC is seriously owning me in this TN and I luuuuuurve him!

Oh my and when Julia came home from the office and told him she couldn't concentrate at work and then proceeded to tell him she would prove it to him and started to peel his clothes off. If ever that was an endorsement that he's ringing Julia's bells properly! Hawwwt-ladio indeed! I think JS is a handsome man, but he does not have the sexy swagger that FC has.

I also concur on DC/Franco. He's absolutely adorable and is doing a bang up job in this role! Lucky Fabiola getting to have an age appropriate leading man. I really felt for her in YNCELH.

I think now that big mouth Caridad spilled the beans about Franco's parentage it's going to work to her advantage but more Franco's. He wants everyone to know who his father is. He may tell Manatee she can keep her baby as long as she keeps her mouth breathing pie hole shut about who his father is. That way Franco gets the rightful GL name. There's also the fact that this will be a GL heir. This trumps David. Franco is going to try to leverage this. No way does he not try to turn this messy situation into a win for himself.

Thank you Cynderella,
Oh my you kill me. You are so hilariously right, Eric has all those terrible incentives to live. I am so late, just finished recap and have only read a couple of comments (so far). Nandicta, you are another one, when you stated the absolute truth about Art just wanted David to stop boinking his daughters so he will have a "fighting" chance to boink his mother Julia.
Can you picture the same epi where characters could only speak the TRUTH? "David, ya por favor yo tengo mas de 25 anos de estar physicamente con tu madre, dame una chance, por favor Caramba!!!!
Oh my, time to watch tv. Enjoy you all.
