Caray, Caray!

Well, this is my last recap for "Lichita." So, I would like to thank everyone who stopped by the patio, those commenters who kept me company with their interesting points of view and lively discussions as well as my fellow recappers Jane, Ezra, CeCe and Marta who all made this such a fun experience. I hope to see some familiar faces on the patio for "Sueño de amor" next week. We could also use some additional recappers. If you are interested, contact Jane.

Now on with our story . . . at Icónika

We left Alicia being sexually pressured by Augusto but responding by screaming back at him in his face. Augusto comes to his senses, backs down and apologizes for his behavior. Alicia says okay to his apology but she is tired and they can talk later. He then expresses how much he wants to start a new life with her, to marry her and have children with her. Augusto laughs that he could be a father and grandfather at the same time. Alicia is puzzled for a second. He lets it drop that Luciana is pregnant. Alicia now has something new to consider. Augusto asks for a goodnight kiss. She kisses Augusto on the forehead. After he leaves, Alicia thinks about the "news". It was unexpected but she already had decided to run the risk of her plan because of her love for Roberto and nothing would change that even if he had chosen to be with someone else. But then she starts thinking about Luciana and Gumaro and what Mateo is doing at Augusto's penthouse and wondering why he is not with his father like he should be. Evidently Augusto has Roberto in a bind. Alicia has a lot to think about.


At the mansion, Dafne is on her blog and it seems that there is someone (a guy)who wants to know how to meet her. She is flattered and excited by the idea. Luciana interrupts it all  when she asks Dafne if she can borrow some of her clothes since they are big enough to be maternity clothes. Dafne laughs and tells her she is going to look like a cantoya balloon. Luciana laughs at that one.Dafne goes on to say if she was the Gothic piñata, Luciana is going to be the Patagonian piñata. Luciana keeps laughing. Luciana tells her she is worse with her biting comments than she herself is. Dafne comments that they are sisters! Then Dafne tells her how much she is going to miss her. Luciana feels the same way. Dafne  asks Luciana for advice on how to deal with a "troll" who has started writing to her in a personal kind of way on her blog. PSA for internet safety: Luciana tells her to be careful, ask for a photo and all of his information to make sure he is for real and his information can be verified. Dafne agrees mentioning all of the horror stories about the internet that are out there.

At the Gutiérrez house, Elsa is very happy that Magos is doing so much to try to become a good mother for Ximena. It turns out that Magos has an appointment for an interview as a receptionist. She is so ready to get that job to pay off her debts. She is doing it all for the love of her daughter. Elsa adds that we are capable of doing everything for our children and that she is turning into a great mother.

Chuchette brings a cute coral pair of Payless shoes to show the receptionists at Icónika. She also mentions that she has to go and be on the lookout for a journalist from a super duper international magazine who is coming to interview Augusto. The receptionists mention  how he dislikes interviews. There is another Chuchette Payless commercial later.

At Icónika, Augusto enters Alicia's office to ask her how his tie looks. She straightens it for him. It turns out he is nervous about an interview with a journalist who should be arriving any time now. He has not done an interview for a very long time. He does not like them. Eventhough he knows the interview is to Icónika's advantage it still could be risky for him. He does not like questions about his personal life. It could affect his business. What exactly is Augusto worried about? Nothing is black and white in this life. He does not need any more problems especially now that Roberto is being investigated by API. That perks up Alicia's attention. When he leaves, Alicia tells herself that Augusto is ready to fall, to tell her everything and she will be there to hear it.

Chuchette is all worried about the answers she wrote in reference to the woman of the year for Alicia. Alicia is pleased with her work and says she has confidence in her. Alicia adds that she is not just another pretty face. Chuchette leaves Alicia's office happy.

Beatriz arrives at Icónika with lawyers in tow to talk to Augusto. Augusto comes out of his office to the reception area throwing a tantrum that the journalist has not arrived yet and is so surprised to see Beatriz there. (Fátima and the receptionists will witness this whole scene). He calls her "Beatroz" (is that supposed to be a play on "albatros"?) They throw insults back and forth. Beatriz tells him he is going to be "achicharrando"(burning to a crisp)in hell. Beatriz informs Augusto that she is there with her lawyers to collect her half of the money from the house sale in Buenos Aires and to make sure Valeria gets the rest. Beatriz tells Augusto to be ready for a shower of lawsuits. Augusto just laughs and tells them to be on their way. Beatriz tells him there is more: she is having an audit done of the earnings that were made at Icónika but never shared with her when she was a 50% shareholder and the millions in taxes that were not paid. Augusto is no longer smiling and looks like he is ready to explode. He gets in her face and asks how dare she? She, her lawyers and lawsuits are just stupid. Surprise: Valeria is also there to ask about the money from the mansion sale in Buenos Aires. Augusto is back to laughing even more so after seeing them together and so friendly. Beatriz tells him the lawsuit has been filed and they will see him in court. Augusto is in the process of denying it all when Surprise: Sandra is also there to add to Augusto's problems by saying there is more than enough evidence to prove what Beatriz is alleging. As she stands with Beatriz and Valeria, Augusto calls them "the harpy patrol". He finds it funny that three "exes" are all working together against him. Chuchette joins the other three ex lovers by saying she had her affair with Augusto, too, and is real sorry about it. Augusto cannot believe his eyes! He tells Sandra to leave. Sandra says Alicia is the one who hired her, so she has to fire her. Just at that moment, Alicia comes out of her office. Augusto wants to know if Alicia is in on this plot against him. Of course not, she will support him. Chuchette apologizes to Beatriz for being in on the plot to photograph Beatriz with Elías. Elías comes out to say that it was all a set up by Augusto. Augusto readily admits it was him, and so what? Elías informs Augusto: Surprise: the journalist who was supposed to interview Augusto has been there the whole time and has heard all of this. The journalist appears with a recorder running . . . Augusto calls them all a bunch of losers and asks the journalist to accompany him. Elías insists on resigning right at that moment and takes advantage of the moment to punch Augusto (in the mouth) who ends up on his butt on the floor. It looks like Augusto is going to make it into brawl but Alicia stops him by reminding him he is a real Toledo y Mondragón and should not stoop to Elías' level. Augusto tells Elías if it were not for Alicia, he would be dead. The journalist just keeps watching and recording.

Back at the Gutiérrez house, we find out that Magos got the job. She works for a company that manufactures nutritional supplements. Ximena suggest Magos should be in sales after hearing her describe what the company does. Magos is real excited about a job with a future. Most importantly, Magos wants to make sure that Ximena knows that she did not cheat on her test. She passed by the skin of her teeth but it was all on her own. Ximena tells her no matter what her grandparents say, she believes her.

Nacho is going to be the "empresario" as he works on increasing the coffee cart business with getting more carts going in different locations. Naco and Elsa are very proud of Magos and how she has matured.,

At Augusto's penthouse, Roberto talks to Mateo. Draco arrives to spy on them. Roberto says not to worry to Mateo because he is going to make them a tent so they can tell secrets without the "Russian giraffe" hearing them. Roberto makes the tent where they seek refuge to have some kind of privacy. Roberto tries to explain exactly who Luciana is and how Mateo is going to have a cousin. Mateo is confused. Who would not be?

In Augusto's office, Fátima and Alicia minister to him and the aftermath of getting socked in the mouth. He sends Fátima out so he can talk to Alicia alone. Augusto wants to know if Alicia knew anything about Sandra and Beatriz being in contact with each other. No she did not. He then remembers Alicia blackmailing him with the info about the fake ad campaigns and tax evasion. How did Sandra know about that? She denies telling her anything. As a matter of fact she hired Sandra back to make good on the investment Icónika had made in Sandra all those years and then it is always good to keep your enemies close. Alicia finds Augusto thinking that she would do such a thing and betray him  sort of sick. Then Alicia turns the tables: Should she not be the one doubting him with four ex lovers showing up at one time? She does not know if they should remain together if he does not trust her enough to tell her even about his business OUTSIDE of Icónika. Augusto gets an important call. Alicia leaves.

The journalist is not interested in doing an interview with Augusto anymore. He is going to write an article about the bullying at Icónika instead. Chuchette is upset.

Beatriz and Elías talk. She starts with telling him she has never been one to like violence but it was really good when he punched Augusto. The only bad thing, according to Beatriz, is that Elías has to leave the company since he is so creative. Elías only regrets getting messed up with Beatriz in that motel photo incident. They agree to stay in contact with each other. He quotes from the Bible, she from Ninel Conde's "El bombón asesino". They laugh a lot.

Elías and Sandra talk about their futures. They apologize to each other and wish each other well. He is happy to see that Godzilla is gone and Sandra the woman who he loved so much is back. Sandra kisses him on the cheek.

Elías comes to talk to Alicia. She tries to explain about Augusto. He says she owes him no explanations. He saved her thesis from the garbage. Elías is going to leave.  They wish each other well.

Gumaro and Roberto talk on the phone. Roberto tells him he cannot do anything anything with Mateo being watched like he is. It is sort of strange thst he the "ex convict" is being kept prisoner in another kind of jail.

Sandra and Alicia talk. Sandra does not know how she can stay with a corrupt guy like Augusto. Alicia begs her to stay and not quit. Sandra guesses correctly that Alicia knows something she doesn't. Alicia says she will explain everything later and to trust her.

Beatriz gives Valeria a check for the house. Beatriz will get her money back through the lawsuit. Valeria tells Luciana that now she and Gumaro will be able to get far away. Beatriz cannot believe she is supporting Luciana sinning with her lover but if God wants it that way, who is she to say . . . ?

Alicia talks with a mystery person about getting together to talk about "all of this." Chuchette approaches her in the hall. She apologizes to Alicia for her her affair with Augusto. Alicia says she does not care about an apology but she does ask that Chuchette stay away from Augusto for her own good and that she never has to humiliate herself.Alicia just keeps surprising Chuchette.

Alicia confronts gossiping workers to tell her to her face if there is something they want to say to her. If not, they should just quit talking behind her back and get to work. Fátima is critical of Leticia: she tells them the workers are confused. First she tells them to clean up the atmosphere at work but then she ends up going out with Augusto. Alicia says that her going out with Augusto is personal and nobody's business. Fátima disagrees: when she is the general director and he the owner of the company and she backs him up when everyone is talking about his reputation, well, the employees are afraid that the company might close down. Alicia finesses the situation with a smile and tells Fátima to tell Augusto that she left for a meeting with a client if he asks. It turns out he is gone, too.

At API, Roberto arrives and greets the board members asking them about the results of the investigation. He finds out soon enough: he is being arrested.
