Lo Nuevo

Justino and Clara talk about their upcoming nuptuals. They have already told Luisita about it and she's happy too. Clara texts Caridad to tell her the great news. Justino tells Clarita that the night before he heard Franco saying that he had a child with Marintia. Clara says she already knew, and that if it were up to her, she would have already told Gaby about it.

Nina visits Art at GM. Nina says the cats out of the bag, and she knows what Eladio did to Julia. She rubs it in Art's face that Julia still loves Eladio, and she knows this because Julia never talked bad about Eladio, or mentioned anything about a divorce.

Caridad meets up with Clarita. She tells Caridad about her engagement. Caridad is happy for her and offers to help her.

Justino goes to see Franco at Franco's request. Franco tells Justino to be very discreet with what he hears and sees at his house. Franco warns him not to gossip, or else. Justino says he was only doing his work, besides he reminds Franco that David is his boss. Franco reminds Justino that the only ones who don't speak are the dead, and Justino should know alot about the dead (referring to Maribel). Justino is pissed, but leaves the office before things get worse.

Clarita likes Caridad's updated look. She says that she is getting closer to Franco everyday. Caridad talks about feeling guilty that Julia suffered for years because of Eladio. Caridad mentions that Franco suggested something to her, but decides not to tell Clarita. Could she be talking about when Franco suggested that Caridad try to win Eladio back for herself? Anyway, Clara asks about Franco, Jr, and Caridad says he's doing much better.

Dani visits David while he's working. She tells him that Regina is not worth it if she's not willing to fight for their love, that he needs to stop insisting. He tells her to stop insisting with HIM. She says she is not insisting, it's just that she has realized that if you love somebody, you should leave everything else aside and fight for what you want. She lies and says she hopes that Regina changes her mind one day. She still wants to be friends and leaves.

Caridad tells Franco that Eladio wants to talk to him, but warns that she fought with Eladio earlier because he found out that Caridad went to see David. Franco wants her to butt out of his business, especially when it comes to Gaby and Marintia. She tells him that Junior (Franco and Marintia's baby) is doing good. He says he could care less if he's good, bad, or dead.

Eladio wants to know how Franco plans on handling Marintia and Junior. He doesn't want Gaby to suffer the way Julia is. Franco tells him that the press wants to interview Eladio, but Franco told them that Eladio was busy. Franco offers to tell the press himself that he is Eladio's spawn.

Dani's at home and talking to her friend about how she is going to get David back with Franco's help. First, she needs to win back David's trust. Her friend doesn't understand why Franco is helping her. Dani says they have been allies for a while now. Nina comes in and Dani tells her she plans to get Davis back.

Eladio is not interested in clarifying anything. He already told Caridad that he is not giving Franco his last name because he is sure that Franco is not going to do it for Marintia's child either. He tells Franco to stop pressuring him.

Justino tells David about getting married. David vents to Justino. He tells him about all that he has done to try to be with Regina, but without any luck. Justino, the voice of reason, gives David some sound advice. He tells him that if the other half doesn't want to, then there is nothing left to do. It's better to look somewhere else. Even though I don't want David and Dani to hook up, I would like to see the look on Regina's annoying face if it did happen. Does that make me a bad person?

Miguel goes to visit Connie (NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Not only that, but they stupidly hug and kiss each other in the hallway because they can't do that inside the apartment where they will have some privacy. And of course there is someone taking pictures of them! I was literally yelling at the TV! Connie, you just lost Erick Jr.! The photographer calls Erick to tell him he's got the pics and is sending them to him.

Gaby visits Eladio. She no longer wants to head the Foundation. Julia can not get along with Franco, and she can not continue this way. Eladio wants to know how much Gaby is willing to put up with to stay married to Franco.

Erick shows the pics of Connie and Miguel to Nina. He's not going to say anything about the pics until the court hearing for custody of Erick, Jr.

Gaby has never asked herself how she would react if Franco betrayed her. She loves him and trusts that he only has eyes for her. Eladio wants Gaby to put herself in Julia's shoes. Anyone can make mistakes that end up being painful. Eladio feels horrible for everything he has sone to his family. All the pain he has caused Julia, Franco, David and her. Gaby confesses that if Franco did what Eladio did she would NOT forgive him. She has seen how much Julia has suffered and she does not want that for herself. The conversation is interrupted by a phone call from Gaby's father. Gaby's mom is sick. Eladio offers his help so Gaby can go see her mother.

Nina tells Erick that he can use the pics to get custody of the baby. She calls Connie to tell her that she and Erick are on their way to her apartment. Connie tells Miguel that he has to go. He tells her to calm down. They start making out again.

Art is reading an online story about the identity of Franco's mother. Art calls Julia and tells her to get a divorce. She tells him not to pressure her about it. She might be one of those wives that forgives their husband and continues to be with them. Art can't believe it. Besides, Julia knows the child Eladio had with the other woman. Art doesn't think she should react this way. Julia doesn't see why not. It's a possibility. Art says it's best that she divorce Eladio. Julia says she's going to do what she wants and feels, not what the press thinks, or her father, or people, or him want. She hangs up the phone.

Dani asks Franco who sent the picures of her and Assmore to Eladio. Franco will investigate. Franco tells her that she owes him one if she still plans on going after David. She says she will find a way to pay him back. Right after she leaves Gaby comes in to tell Franco that she is leaving to go see her parents. He tells her to keep him informed and she is upset that he is not going with her. He says he has too much work, but if he can he will meet her over there. She's upset because she feels she does everything for him and he doesn't do the same. Just yesterday she fought with her aunt trying to defend Franco. She figures that now that they are married, their relationship will not be the way it was before. She leaves.

Eladio tells David that Gaby is leaving to her parents house. David assumes that Franco is accompanying her, but Eladio says no because they have too much work. They talk about the Sante Fe project. Eladio hopes that David will move into the penthouse that he gifted him. David would rather rent it out and give the money to his mom for whatever she needs. Eladio agrees.

Erick and Nina show up at Connie's. Nina goes to see the baby. Erick's acting like an odd chimp and tells Connie that he hasn't been a good husband, but will be a good father. The chimp wants the baby so he can be with his family since Connie doesn't have any family. Connie says that the baby has her and she doesn't like the idea of him growing up in the Montenegro mansion. The chimo says that everyone knows that she and Miguel are seeing eachother. She corrects him and says that she LOVES Miguel. The chimp is pissed and tells her that she is a bad example, and that he thinks she was a prostitute. Art comes in and yells at the chimp boy. He tells him to stop being a jerk, and to stop trying to take the baby away from Connie. Nina comes out of the bedroom and tells them to keep quiet, the baby is sleeping. Chimp boy is upset because his father is on Connie's side. He leaves without seeing the baby. Art asks to see his grandson. He and Connie go into the bedroom.

Gaby tells Julia that she is leaving the Foundation. She needs to think about things and is going to visit her parents. Julia tells her to look after her mother because she knows that her sister doesn't like to go to the doctor. Gaby feels bad for what happened to Julia at the Foundation with Nina and the other ladies, but thinks that if she had a different attitude, this would not have happened. Julia realizes that their relationship will never be the same. It hurts her and she wishes they could put their feelings above everything else. Gaby will think about it, but she also knows that in this world you can't get everything you want. Gaby leaves.

Hummy rolls into Eladio's GLA office. He thanks him for the chauffer he gave to Gaby for her trip. Eladio informs Hummy that David will rent out his penthouse to help Hummy with his expenses. And that David is doing that so that he won't have to accept anything from Eladio. Hummy tells Eladio to get on David's good side in order to win Julia back.

Dani finds out where David lives. She's on the phone and says something about trying to convince Auggie not to accept the properties. Maybe she's talking about the ones Art put in his name???

Nina argues with the chimp that he should have been nicer to Connie. He is tired of being the third chimp, err wheel with Connie and Miguel. He already sent the kissing pics to his lawyer. Nina thinks it's not enough. They need something more concrete and the chimp needs to do his part. He argues back, but Nina says that he is too impulsive and that's why she didn't want him to manage her shares.

Hummy calls David. He tells David that he feels death knocking at the door. He wants David to visit him and they can play cards like they used to when he was young. The doorbells rings, but there is noone at the door. Instead David finds a box of chocolates from Dani.

Jorge is with Regina at her house. They are talking about some childhood memories. Nina interrupts the conversation because she needs to talk to Regina. Jorge goes to wait in the garden.

Dani is at Auggie's. She is trying to convince Miguel and Auggie to return the shares and properties. She uses Regina to try to get Miguel to give in, saying that Regina is really sad.

Nina tells Regina that it's OK that she wants to go out with other guys, but not with someone like that. She's only looking out for her, but she knows that either way Regina will do what she wants. Regina tells her mother that she is not going out with Jorge, and that if she did what she wanted, like her mom says, she would be with David, the man she loves. But out of respect for her mother, she is not with David. She doesn't want to be with the son of the woman who destroyed their family. Regina walks away as the chimp boy comes in. He shows his mother the name of the judge that will hear the custody case. Nina is thrilled because the judge is a friend of hers.

Eladio gets pissed at Caridad when she acts who will take care of the kids at the foundation now that Gaby is leaving.

Regina and Miguel meet for coffee. He says he took the shares because he is afraid if Nina put the chimp in charge he would loose everything. Miguel warns Regina that Dani is up to something with David.

David arrives at the Gomez Luna mansion. Julia is thrilled until she realizes that he is there to see Hummy. Hummy tells David what happened to Julia at the foundation.

Regina is tired of worrying about what Dani does, besides she ended things with David. Miguel wonders if she feels that way because she likes Jorge. Regina and Miguel are just happy that they no longer fighting.

David tells his mother that all of this is affecting him in a bad way. He wishes he could just go far away and forget about everything. He advises her to leave and forget about everything. Only she can do something about it. He apologizes to his grandfather. He no longer wants to play cards and leaves. Hummy asked David to come over to see how bad Julia is doing. Julia says that David is so affected from losing Regina that nothing else matters to him.

Nina wants to know when Art is going to leave the house. He thinks she should leave. He goes outside for breakfast. The chimp comes downstairs, he and Nina leave to the court hearing.

Miguel and Connie are having breakfast at ther apartment. They talk about Art helping out Connie. Miguel tells Connie that he worked things out with Regina.

Auggie talks with Art in the garden. Art wonders why Julia won't get a divorce. Art calls Eladio to tell him that Julia told him all about what happened at the foundation. Art insists that Julia will end of choosing him in the end. Eladio tells him that he doesn't know Julia. She will never love him. Art just thinks it's important that she called him. (Didn't he call her?) Anyway, now Eladio will have to respect whatever decision Julia makes. Art hopes Eladio doesn't get mad.

David runs into Dani. She hopes he liked the chocolates. She wants to be friends. Eladio storms out of his office and David asks if he's OK. He says he's going to see Julia. David asks if he can help, but Eladio says no.

At the GL mansion Julia tells Hummy that Gaby's parents were on their way to Mexico City, so Gaby didn't have to travel to see them. Gaby walks in. She only returned to the mansion because her mother asked her to. Julia tries to hug Gaby, but she pulls away. Julia wants to get along, at least while Gaby's parents are there.

Regina and Jorge are taking a stroll through a park. He is trying to convince her to give him a chance and she stupidly accepts. What an IDIOT! Even though Jorge promises to be patient he kisses her. WTH?!

Gaby says when she left she wanted to be with her parents because she feels like Franco doesn't even miss her. Eladio comes in and wants to talk to Julia. Simona comes in with the phone, they're calling from the Red Cross. Eladio takes the phone. Bad news. Gaby's parents were in an accident and they passed away.

Thank you Aunty Ann :)

1.) Connie & Miguel's stupidity pretty much all but handed Jr to Erick on a silver platter!

Just as I predicted would happen!

2.) Any guess if Dani hired Jorge to bust up Regina & David so that Dani can have David all by herself ?

3.) Gaby ignoring Julia again. After watching the Mean Girls 3.0 sequence from Tuesday night & Gaby NOT standing up for her own aunt, I'm not going to feel sorry for her when the truth about Franco Jr & Marinita is revealed!

3.) Justino better WATCH OUT & look over his shoulder because Franco could send Callao to whack him!

4.) Caridad: you're still stupid!

5.) Arturo: Sigh!

Thank you,Auntyann for that detailed recap.

Wow, Frankie just gets more and more repulsive threatening Justino by bringing up his dead wife and telling his mother that he doesnt care if his baby dies. What an awful excuse for a human being he is. He is callous and cold-hearted and getting worse, not better. I am so hoping that karma is poised directly above him holding a massive anvil. Table for one in Hades!

I am now looking behind Eladio at those office bookcases instead of at his beautiful face. I noticed a little white statue of a seated man on top of the books.

Dani just will not give up on Dave. Regina does not deserve his steady devotion, but Dani is not a choice.

...and..yikes...why did the writers decide to kill off Gaby's parents? Did they want to make her already bad situation even worse? QTH? Will Eladio now have an opportunity to comfort and console Julia? Will Hummy notice or care about his daughter and son in-law dying?

By the way, I offer this musical selection dedicated to Julia..Robert Palmer's "Simply Irresistible." Who knew that being simply Irresistible was going to cause her so much trouble?

Just stopping by to say, !feliz cumpleaños! FC, #50

Gracias, AuntyAnn. And Variopinta, you beat me to that one.

Totally agree with Susanlynn about WTH were the writers thinking by killing off Gabriela's parents. Well, maybe the budget didn't allow for these actors to return or perhaps it's time for Gabriela to inherit their business and property and leave DF to take care of them. Her present situation will only get worse when she finds out that Franco The Bastard has one of his own. There aren't enough episodes left to drag this out much longer. It's time for Gabriela to grow up (which also means losing the Wednesday Addams look).

While it might be a good idea for David to move on (at least for the moment) Daniela is not an option. If she makes even the tiniest inroad with him I hope that GLA's No Fraternization policy bites her on the tush.

WTH will Eladio say when the press starts hounding him about Franco? He can't dodge that one forever.

While I think Arturo urging Julia into divorce was a bad move, I can see divorce lawyers bombarding her with calls.

At least Miguel and Augustin are onto Daniela.

Finally, Nina telling Erick he hasn't adequate proof of improprieties is so hypocritical. This is more proof than she ever had on Arturo and Julia. Nina, you are not above the rules.

Wowzer. Thanks so much AuntyAnn. I somehow missed a couple key sentences which are crucial to make sense of the Franco-Justin mess. You, of course, filled it in nicely.

Regina, two wrongs don’t make a right and twenty-seven of them sure as h e double hockey sticks don’t either. I raised an orphaned squirrel once, and it liked to sit on my shoulder and kiss me too. I guess parrots are no different. :-)

Chimpa: Yup, suck face right there in the hallway after your Chimpo tells you he has "fired" your 24/7 PP. (Personal Paparazzi) You have just earned yourself a new nickname by way of display of no human brain activity. Ya know, Connie, hon, you are hot to look at, and with Miggy you are affectionate, it seems as much out of gratitude as lust.

Slut? Hooker? I don't think so, but that is the way Chimpo is painting you with your help! But you are not one of these hot TN babes who actually destroys the fellows clothing getting it off him and out of your way each time you see him. So why? It looks like your numbskull hallway stuff just disqualified you to be a Mom. That’s what happens when you mate outside your family, but within your species. -> Species: Homo Sapiens, Family: Hylobatidae (Gibbons) versus Hominidae (Chimpanzee).
Gibbons are monogamous, territorial pair-bonders, while chimpanzees live in larger troops with bonobos exhibiting promiscuous sexual behaviour. So a cute little blonde Gibbon winds up married to a Bonobo Chimp and look what a mess you are in.

Rats! Now we have yet another happy couple who are bound by some combination of loyalty and fear of DeathByFranco to keep THE SECRET. Oh Noooooooooooo. Or something like that. Thanks AuntyAnn. Franco is certainly betting a lot on almost his entire circle of acquaintances fear of his killing them or theirs, or having it done. Though his workmen in the murdering department remind one of the commercial for Air Conditioning repairmen returning again and again. Good help is hard to find.  He has already shown that he would delete his own Son if it were left to him. Die Franco Die. Franco must have his eye on another future role requiring a ‘Most Hated Villan’ award on a resume’.

Susanlynn: All I can come up with is that Gaby's parents were on Vaca in a nudist resort where commercial cameras and film crews are not allowed. Somehow scheduling overlooked it and to CYA, and told Script folks, "OK then, if they are gonna be that way, just kill'em." "Nobody in Viewerville believes either of them are related to Muttlie anyway."
Only thing that makes sense to me, anyway.

Thanks, AuntyAnn. Great job.

My biggest surprise last night was how devastated Hummy looked at the news of his daughter's death. There is a heart in there somewhere. But how soon will he focus on what's in the will?

Kudos to Justino for standing up to Franco. He's no wimp and I'm liking him more.

It's so crazy that Eladio and Caridad think they're protecting Gaby. Franco is a lousy husband and her life would be better without him. Will Franco rise to the occasion and be a comfort to Gaby at the loss of her parents? I think not. Marintia, hurry up and bring the baby to town.

But how soon will he focus on what's in the will?

I'm betting on the scene following the title credits.

Just right AuntyAnn and big thanks.

Not a big Justino fan but when he smacked Franco's folio out of his face it made tofie go hmmmmmm.

Nooooooo, we are just friends, I luv David. Yeah right, Regina loves attention.

Golly, I struggle with Connie and Miguel and the last time I recall this much effort to accept a relationship was Captain and Tennille.

Wonderful recap!!

I hate it when the writers run out of ideas and write a stupid scene, like Connie kissing Miguel in the hallway. Connie knows she is being watched. That is just bad writing. They could have come up with something more inventive to get the pics.

Is there a die Erick die table? If so, pull me up a chair! Feel free to bolt it to the ground because I don't see myself moving from it!!

Wow Jorge is a fast mover and Regina didn't seem to mind.

I wonder if Art is willing to trade the house for Connie to have custody of the baby? I would like to see which way Nina would go....

I can't believe Gaby has now lost her parents! I'm sure Franco will see an upside. Agree, Niecie that I hope Marintia shows up soon just so Gaby can get free of Franco.

Hummy did look distraught at the news of his daughter's death. But I'm not sure it was for them or he was thinking of himself. We may find out tonight.

I'm hoping Justino tells David about Franco's baby.

Thank you AuntyAnn. Terrific recap.

Justino should have just played dumb and pretended that he knew NOTHING.

It does look like Consuelo has lost Erick Jr. Not only will the incriminating photos help, but Nina is good friends with the judge, so..

Just when I start liking Arturo again, he stoops low, and lies to Eladio about Julia calling him, when he's the one who called her.

So sad that Gaby's parents have passed away. I wasn't expecting for that to happen.

“Even though I don't want David and Dani to hook up, I would like to see the look on Regina's annoying face if it did happen. Does that make me a bad person?” Aunty Ann, I’m having to fight my mean girl instincts on this one myself......I’m just so disgusted with Regina now. Maybe we could have a temporary, double secret patio table for the (short lived) Dani, David pairing, just one quick drink!!! Thanks for the great recap that cleared up important missing pieces of the dialogue.

Well Susanlynn, I’m afraid we might have been hasty on our assessment of Justino. Even though he doesn’t meet our FFA standards, he is a stand up guy, and that means everything to me! I’m just glad he has a corporate job, I visualized Clara up to her ears with corn husks every night getting Justino ready for his grilled Mexican corn stand! Now they can sit around and watch television like the rest of us married couples!

Note to Erik and Nina, why don’t you just try win the baby over with love? This would be much simpler, less expensive and lots more effective. I haven’t given up on Nina either Carlos, but just wish she’d direct her “fury” toward Arturo who deserves it.

The ending on this novela is problematic, Franco and Hummy are the only truly evil people that deserve a big anvil, but the rest seem like ordinary people who struggle with life, they don’t warrant the typical novela crash and burn finale. For those of us who like bodas, there will none worth watching except Clara and Justino. I’m over everyone else.

Thanks so much for another great one, AuntyAnn! I'll try to add more later, but gotta run right now!

Note to Erik and Nina, why don’t you just try win the baby over with love? This would be much simpler, less expensive and lots more effective.

There is no love in either Erick or Nina. Each is only about himself. Neither of them is self-aware either, but he is the less intelligent of the two. Nina knows now how to think ahead, but Erick doesn't think beyond the next hour or two. Neither of them has much in the way of self-control.

"There is no love in either Erick or Nina." UA, we disagree about this, but don't want to go around and around on it when most likely there is much that we agree on! Have you thought about the Karma for Hummy and Franco? If you've posted on this before, I've missed it!

I've thought more about Humberto's but that's because he has a longer track record of abuse. He's also easier to make the selection for.

Franco needs a little more thought and because he's healthy and mobile there is a broader range of what can be done to him. He had too many irons in the fire as well.

Tofie..HA..I always look forward to your take on the madness. What???...the Captain and Tenielle??? Do you mean to tell me that you doubt that she asked him to " Do it to Me One More Time."

AuntyAnn--First of all thank you for taking this one on the chin for us. They sure stuffed a lot into this episode, but it was mostly stuffing.

We never really needed Gaby's parents here at all. She should have been an orphan to begin with. Maybe the two actors were friends or kin to the one of the directors/producers. For a hot minute there, I was confused by Gaby's abrupt departure, Franco refusing to accompany her and then I looked again and she was back. Had they started cutting scenes? Actually I wish Gaby could have stayed away for two or three episodes and we could have watched Franco dig himself in even deeper with a little Dani-caper that gets in the press. Or better yet, that's when Marintia returns with the bebe.

When we were discussing Caridad and her sad and desperate attempts to fix things between herself and Franco, Franco and Eladio, Franco and David, Franco and Marintia, herself and David, herself and Eladio, herself and Gaby, I had some minor contempt for her. She wasn't doing anything right. But then I started to think about things dealing with her and Julia.

Does Julia know or has she forgotten that Gisela lied to Caridad for 20 years, telling her she had Franco the whole time and he became a fisherman and spent most of his time at sea? Caridad was a victim, too.

Caridad had been abandoned by a husband who left her to go to El Norte and never heard from him again. She began an affair with Eladio under FALSE pretenses (although she was a willing participant in bed). She HAD broken up with Eladio (his or her choice, can't remember, probably his) when she got pregnant and refused to have an abortion. Her husband comes back after 5 years and finds her with a 3-year old chamaco. She kills him defending her son and is sent to jail. Eladio had a hand in maintaining the lie by keeping her in jail or not telling her the truth that he was raising Franco.

Did you all notice that Caridad had a center part hair style when she first showed up after her make-under? Then by yesterday, the part was hidden. I guess she didn't want to look too much like Gaby!

AuntyAnn---You hit all the points completely--you're such a big help.

Stupid Connie---She doesn't even know about the pictures. Kissing in the hallway and you want custody of little Erick? Have you lost your brain??? How is she going to counter this at the divorce hearing especially when the deck is stacked against her with a judge that is personal friends with Nina. Conflict of interest anyone?
Consuelo had better have some surprises of her own that haven't been revealed yet or she will loose. The Montenegro family is powerful. --- Just a wild guess but I'm wondering if new charges will be brought against Chimp Boy and the Ratt's murder as the custody hearing is taking place?

Justino could get whacked but I don't see the writers going there. They're not going to leave Clara and Justin's little girl devastated.

I know what I can't stand about witch bitch Nina, it's her condescending smirk of superiority. Sorry Nina lovers but it's true. To some extent, Daniela has the same
trait. She has stated many times that she always or can always get what she wants.

David could have left the chocolates out in the hallway. Is he too stupid not to be able to read Dani's intentions?

How much can Gaby take? Her parents now dead and a husband that doesn't love her. She's going to be a basket case soon.

What's Humberto's next move?

must see tv
the gringo

Maybe the onetrueloves of this novela are meant to be Gaby's parents. I just read about the grey goose. They mate for life, so hunters should kill both because otherwise the remaining one will grieve for the rest of his or her life over the loss of the mate. The writers killed off Gaby's parents together. Other than those two,I really do not recognize any onetrueloves in this hot mess.

Daniela wouldn't need to hire Jorge or anyone else to bust up Regina & David. Regina seems to dump David on the flimsiest items so all Daniela would have to do is wait for the latest Regina/David bustup.

I need Regina to take responsibility for herself. Arturo, Nina, Julia, "The Family," Jorge etc...none of those people made Regina dump David. Regina took it upon herself to dump David. She made that decision for the both of them without consulting him. I frankly want David to move on (but not with Daniela). Get with another girl that's not as flaky as Regina.

Connie & Miguel are stupid and she deserves to lose custody of her child. She's been told repeatedly by numerous people to stay away from Miguel and if Miguel loves her so much, he should have stayed away from her too.

With Gaby's parents now being dead, doesn't she inherit her dad's business? Perhaps taking control of her dad's business will occupy her once the truth of her marriage comes out.

Sandy..yeah, Justino is a good guy, and the writers seem to be trying to give him a more important part in this story, but..he has got to work on that kissing technique. You can be a nice guy, and a good kisser...just think of all those future farmers of America that we knew and loved!

Gringo I understand Auggie just finished a night school class in underwater basket weaving. There is soon to be a certain basket in need of some repair.

What frosted me was Die Franco Die being so guardedly glad that his MOL was seriously ill in that it would give him a few free nights alone. Well, not alone, but one should say, 'without his wife'. I can not dream up an anvil large enough for him. The usual time honored punishment of torturing or killing the firstborn male child wouldn't do Die Franco Die a lot of harm would it?

k

Susanlynn, I think you should volunteer to help Justino with his kissing technique and then report back to us!

On Humberto and Franco, besides Hummy's brimming eyes last night (chronic dry eye?) I haven't seen even a glimmer of humanity in either one of them. At least there is room for a difference of opinion on the rest of the characters.

Jr will be with Erick FOREVER, this is where the brainwashing will begin!

History repeating itself again!

Franco shed a few tears when his grandma died and rammed some money in Clara's hand for her funeral, but that's about it on humanity in him.

AuntyAnn, this was excellent - thank you.

"Not only that, but they stupidly hug and kiss each other in the hallway because they can't do that inside the apartment where they will have some privacy" was my favorite line of many.

I'm with everyone in wondering why it was necessary to add to Gaby's inevitable heartache over Franco by killing not just one, but both of her parents.

I would hate to think Humberto has suckered me in, but I thought he looked genuinely stricken when Eladio related the news about his daughter and son in law.

Justino is growing on me. I can't help but speculate if he is going to be around much longer. Franco hates him and let's be honest, he's killed (or tried to) for lesser reasons. I think he and Clara got together way too quickly and don't see them together at the end.

So disappointed in both Consuelo and Miguel. Consuelo clearly understood the importance of keeping their distance so her make out session in the hall made little sense.

At the end of each episode, I keep thinking, who was the least loathsome tonight? Ack.

Diana

Not too many to root for in this show right now Diana. List seems to dwindle the farther along we go.

Thanks for your wonderful recap AuntieAnn.

Like Susanlynn said, Frankie just keeps becoming more loathsome. I feel a little bad that I'll be quite pleased if he and Chipboy don't survive the tn. And Diana's comment hits home as well, who is the least loathsome right now? Clara's been a good one and with her history, the writers could have done more with the character. My concern now is that sicko Franco will try to kill Justino.

In spite of the abundance of extremely annoying characters, I enjoy my blogging family! You are the only ones who are keeping me here and laughing at the great comments and recaps.

Miguel goes to visit Connie (NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

Such a great reaction Aunty Ann. And I'm with you all the way. I've managed to think of a plus about this show. Ordinarily I get very upset when things go badly for the characters--and in spite of murmuring "it's just a show, it's just a show" I wake up in the night thinking "if only..." Dumb.

BUT...with this show, I am so done with all the characters, I JUST. DON'T. CARE. Franco and Daniela can be as loathsome as they want. Don't care. Julia can be as confundida and Arturo as loathsome and mentiroso as he wants...Don't Care. Gaby with her perpetually open mouth and vacant eyes can get her wee little heart broken. I don't care. They can bounce custody of that baby around like a basketball and I even don't care about that! Consuelo and Miguel creep me out. And now they're getting stupid too.

So. Done!!!!!

But great, informative recap Aunty Ann. Thanks.

Judyb...teehee....You made my day...sooo funny. And I feel exactly the same. Just. Do. Not. Care. Dumbarses.

Sandy, I will pass on Justino, but I wouldn't mind playing Spin the Bottle with Hotladio .

Oh, I have no doubt that Franco would have tried for a trifecta and boinked Daniela in Grabriela's absence. There were no missing scenes in this episode but there aren't that many episodes left.

We have yet to know the details of what Eladio intends about the baby. He can't deny Franco's paternity anymore and if he tries denying it to the gutter press he will gain nothing. He is wealthy enough to give Marintia a big payoff, but I doubt that there is enough money to satisfy her. Greed is one of the big themes of this series and obsession is the other:

Greed Monsters:

Nina
Humberto
Erick
Franco
Marintia
Monserrat (RIP)

Obsessed:

Eladio
Arturo
Daniela
Jorge
Marintia
Miguel
Caridad

Marintia is the only character that makes both lists. We have all previously questioned why she wants Franco because she knows him better than anyone else (except for Eladio). The fact that he's attractive, slick, and probably good in bed doesn't outweigh that he is selfish, greedy, and without a conscience. He is what Eladio had raised him to be and it's very interesting that Eladio is starting to see that.

So ..Julia does not fit under either of those classifications. We have a new one for her. What shall it be???...indecisive??? Confused????

@JudyB...I agree. Like I said one time, if I wanted to see an entire group of related people doing stooooopid things over and over, I would not have missed the last family reunion.

Marintia thinks she and Franco are soul mates. She understands his greed as someone who is just as greedy. It looked to me that she sees them as a 'two peas in a pod' couple. They have known each other going on a decade, and she too is selfish. She must consider herself attractive, based on what she tries to pass off as business attire. And she knows Francofurter trusts her completely or he would not have let her CozyCuff him to the bed that time we saw. Even Franco must know how many TN galans have been found dead wearing those. I swear wardrobe must supply those in a kit with those digetable garmets, a dagger, and a cheap pistol.

Steve, how did you not predict Mr. and Mrs. Gaby.?

UA--thanks for sorting out the list of obsessed or greedy. I would like to recommend Eladio and Arturo for the Greed list--at least back in the old days, or is it enough to be obsessed with being the richest and getting one over on your competition. Only Eladio has shared some of his wealth by underwriting Julia's foundation, but I doubt he did that with any altruistic intention. He probably wanted to make sure Julia was kept in control--and she didn't like shopping, going to the salon de belleza and tea parties.

OK, how about:

Prisoners (literally or figuratively, past and present):

Julia
Regina
Consuelo
Caridad
Miguel

Julia and Caridad were literally locked up for 20+ years. Consuelo is almost there although she doesn't know it and both she and Regina are prisoners of either conscience or obligation. Miguel was imprisoned with a wicked stepmother and two wicked half-siblings during his entire childhood. While Julia has physical freedom now she is still a prisoner of feelings she hasn't yet learned to process.

Arturo is severely weirded out about Miguel and Consuelo and definitely knew that anything between the two of them would cause issues with Ape Child. He also seems to be catching on that Nina is directing a lot of what is happening now. Would this would have happened in absence of a divorce? Maybe not. Nina has no real interest in being a grandmother in the proper sense of that word and her only interest now is to hurt Arturo in the bank balance.

Not to mention Consuelo, whom she has hated from the get-go. She doesn't have enough evidence against her and what Consuelo can say in return about Erick is far worse.

AuntyAnn,

Thanks for this bright well-done and illuminating recap. I especially enjoyed how you wove some of your own thoughts and opinions into the fabric of your narrative. Super.

UA,

Your list is appreciated although I disagree with some of your characterizations. Also I think that Agustín belongs in the company of the obsessed because of his unbecoming obsession with Gabriela.

Coni and Miguel have now revealed their total disregard for the well-being of Infanterick by impulsively indulging their own selfish primitive urges. I'm convinced that the little fellow would be just as well-off in the custody of his pretty grandma and doltish but devoted dad.

Humberto seemed genuinely (and quietly) stricken at the news of his daughter's death.

Carlos

Anita, I posted before preview.

You are right about Eladio's motive for the foundation. It was meant to make himself look good and to keep an eye on Julia even when she wasn't locked up in her gilded cage. He might not have minded her going shopping or to the beauty salon if it went on his credit card statement. I just doubt that he allowed her to have her own bank account or very much in the way of actual cash.

Thanks very much for this excellent recap, AuntyAnn!

I have to confess that I was yelling at the television too! The only good thing is it makes us regular folk feel like a bunch of emotional Einsteins. Hee hee

I do not see how Miguel and Consuelo being in a relationship will hurt her baby. Miguel has shown far more interest in him than Erick ever did. If there wasn't an issue of financial control connected with custody Erick wouldn't care if he never saw the baby.

In absence of the divorce situation and its financial fallout Nina would rather he never have been conceived. She's said more than once that she is too young to be a grandmother. She was giving the excuse of possible infidelity on Consuelo's part when she said she'd accept her daughters' children but not her son's. She only said that because she knew that neither Regina nor Daniela had any plans to become pregnant anytime soon. However, if either Regina or Daniela had become pregnant she would have tried to encourage abortion.

Add to the list

BORING
David & Regina
Julia

UA,

"I do not see how Miguel and Consuelo being in a relationship will hurt her baby..."

It won't... unless you think that Consuelo losing custody might hurt him. Surely them flaunting their adulterous relationship (now with photos) won't help. Like I said, I think he thrive under the care of Daddy and Nana.

"...if either Regina or Daniela had become pregnant she would have tried to encourage abortion."

You have absolutely no way of knowing this.

Carlos

I for one, do NOT feel sorry for Connie at all: she was warned MULTIPLE TIMES to being involved with Miguel but did she listen ? NOPE!

Even Arturo tried to warn her about the consequences & now the chickens have come home to roost!

Neither do you about that child thriving under the three most selfish people in this tale ('m including Daniela in this). Not to mention that Erick's stupidity (at least we agree on that) makes him a very poor male role model.

A kiss doesn't prove adultery and Erick cheated on Consuelo long before this. She literally begged him to love her and work on their marriage. But in some people's minds that would make her too weak to be a good mother, I guess.

Nina would just turn this child into a clone of his father. The better to control him, of course.

UA,

My opinion (which I think is every bit as valid as yours) is that the most selfish person in this tale is Arturo.

Carlos

We will have to agree to disagree on this, since it is a waste of time attempting to convince you otherwise.

Great recap AuntyAnn. Thanks a bunch.
I guess that connie isn't aware of what a snakey (Sneak) she was married to or she wouldn't be taking these but stupid chances.
Really? Kissin in the hall where anybody can
And take all the video shots they want.
Chimp boy for a dad and not to smart momy.
Poor kid.
Is there any smart people in this show? O yes
The babies!!!!!!

The people I thought were thinkers and wise in this show turned to be disappointing. But
Heres hoping they get back on the rails again

this is the first comment I've been able to get up this week I hope it made it this time.

O, and I don't like jorge, hes pushy.

thanks again Auntyann :-)
