El Hotel de los Secretos #28, 3/3/16 Thursday: Discussion page
Teresa dragged Cristina to the linen room and Sofia found them there. Teresa told Sofia she had to help her with her made up story. A nervous Sofia agreed. Sofia wiping up the blood on the floor with her dress was so sad. That poor woman. Ayala did see it when he was near Cristina’s body. Sofia is losing her marbles fast.
Julio comes back to the hotel with Ayala and Dogoberto, Isabel tells them that Cristina is dead and Ayala goes to see the body.
The judge, who happened to be attending the fashion show also came to the room where Cristina is lying on the floor. Teresa tells them a made up story of how Cristina fell and hit her head and that killed her.
Ayala starts to verbalize the evidence and it's clear to him that she's not telling the truth. But the judge is a friend of Teresa’s, and he tells Ayala to back off, it's going to be ruled an accident.
The staff organizes a service for Cristina with Angela leading the orations. Belen starts to cry about Cristina - not sure if it was real tears or not. Julio is broken up, but no one seems to think it odd. It did seem odd that no one was suspicious about how affected Julio was when they all think he didn't even know Cristina. You'd think Angela would have caught on.
Angela asks Julio to take the body. It is to be placed in a pauper's unmarked grave. Julio makes other arrangements and he, Isabel, Matilde, and Andres take her body and bury her in a proper grave.
Diego takes Jacinto with him and they bring Garrido out in the woods, and Diego beats him with a stick. Jacinto stands there and watches, it's difficult to tell if Jacinto is shocked.
Jacinto was definitely jealous of Andres at the cantina when Violeta was helping him get cleaned up from the fight “training session.”
Doc takes Sofia back to her room. He notices the blood on her clothing, but also the blood between her legs. He tells the sleeping Sofia the blood on her legs was just her period (not same blood as what was wiped off floor).
Eugenia decides to end Mercedes' life, gets a pillow and begins to smother her, but at that moment Felipe, who was crawling through the window, catches Eugenia doing that and stops her.
Eugenia tells him that she's doing it for them so they can be together. Felipe tells her that he loves Mercedes and never did love Eugenia. Eugenia said she will kill herself if she can’t have Felipe.
Because Ayala has been banned from stepping foot inside the hotel, he asks Andres to help him out and be the inside detective (but how, since Andres has been fired by Diego).
Julio is broken up about losing his other half, his twin sister. Matilde gave Isabel the key to her room so Isabel and Julio could be alone with no interruptions? Isabel comforts him and they finally, very gently, with her nod of assent, make love.

What an awesome episode. The past week, especially, has been jammed packed.
Thank goodness Felipe was climbing through the window when Eugie was in the process of offing her sister.
Looks like Isa and Julio are going to get it on.
Was kind of hoping that Cris would cough or move or something before and during the wake.
Is Belen trying to tell Andres about the letter? Not so sure that's a good idea. He's kind of weak, but I can't see him going along with any plan she might have.
Vivi: re a discussion yesterday. Do you think Angela might know, at least part, of the something that the letter is about. Not that she necessarily knows about the letter itself.

I haven't seen last night's episode yet, so can't help or comment. Nanette- Your comment makes it look like an exciting episode. Can't wait to watch it tonight.
As for what Angela does or doesn't know, as of Thursday's episode, it's not been made clear. What we do know is that she's a woman who doesn't want/intend to hurt others, so she wouldn't do that just to get even with/blackmail Teresa, even if it would benefit her.
Yes, Angela is holding something over Teresa's head, or at least is in a position to do so. I don't remember exactly what they were discussing, but whatever it was, Angela alluded to something that seemed to really frighten Teresa, and Teresa gave in on whatever it was that they were discussing.
On at least one other occasion, Teresa alluded to a secret that seemed upsetting to Angela, but not as much. I think that would be the thing we've been speculating about - that perhaps Romulo was Andre's father.
Either these are two different secrets, or they are both the same secret. If they are the same secret, then it's a little strange that Teresa would needle Angela with it considering how desperately Teresa wants that secret kept. But then, Teresa's strange, too.
Regarding last night's episode, I am still skeptical of Felipe's grand proclamation of love for Mercedes. Would he be talking that way if she had never had the accident? If she wakes up tonight, will he marry her and become a worthy husband? I kinda doubt it.
As for Eugenia threatening to kill herself... well, it would be sad for her father and inconvenient for the hotel. But what the hell - he's already sad, and the hotel is already having a messy week. What's one more mishap?
The love scene between Julio and Isabel at the end was very sweet and unexpected. Now she's really never going to marry Diego, lol.
Although the doctor seems quite convinced that her pregnancy is false, and he knows more about it than I do, I'll just say that it's not unknown for women to menstruate (or experience something that resembles menstruation) during pregnancy. So I'd like to go on hoping that she's carrying something more than false hope.

Eugenia decides to end Mercedes life, gets a pillow and tries to smother her, but at that moment Filipe was crawling through the window, catches Eugenia doing that and stops her. Eugenia tells him that she's doing it for them so they can be together. Filipe tells her that he loves Mercedes and never Eugenia. Eugenia said that she will kill him then.
Julio is broken up about losing his other half, his twin sister, Isabel comforts him and they finally make love.
Diego was mad that Teresa didn't let him handle Cristina, but Teresa smartly asked why would she let him handle it? If he got the letter, he would still be bribing her with it. But now that neither of them have the letter, they both need to find it, and the sooner the better.
Everyone, probably including El General: "Meh".
But did she threaten to kill herself or Felipe? I thought she was threatening suicide, and Felipe told her he didn't care. He may suddenly realize that he loves Mercedes for reals, but it's too little and way too late. He had his chance. If she wakes up, she deserves better.
Julio didn't reveal his relationship with Cristina, right? Wonder if Angela will question his devotion to a maid he shouldn't have known, since he got there after she left. It would be very strange for him to have been the last one left at the wake (which was a very nice gesture on Angela's part).

Something's got to be wrong with me but as Julio and Isabel stood up to disrobe I kept thinking, but the guys sister was just buried.
I thought Ayala saw the blood on Sofia's dress, Cristina's blood, when she tried to clean the floor and surprised to see the blood on her legs.
I always thought there is an old secret between Teresa and Angela that could be an embarrassment and a larger, bring the house down, secret contained in the letter.
Sofia wiping up the blood on the floor with her dress was so sad. That poor woman. Ayala did see it when he was near Cristina’s body.

Belen starting to cry about Cristina - not sure if it was real tears or not
Jacinto was definitely jealous of Andres at the cantina when Violeta was helping him
I think Eugenia threatened to kill herself if she couldn't have Felipe; not entirely sure though and it's not in the resumen online
Ayala asks Andres to be a detective and help him somehow?
Andres asks Isabel for the favor of arranging the burial since Julio has no money for a proper one
It did seem odd that no one was suspicious about how affected Julio was when they all think he didn't even know Cristina. You'd think Angela would have caught on.
Matilde gave Isabel a key - was it to Matilde's room so Isabel and Julio could be alone with no interruptions? (Since everyone seems to walk in to Isabel's room all the time).
How is Julio in a lusty mood when his sister just died? I've heard of people wanting sex for comfort after a funeral, but isn't that usually the more distantly related? And not the most immediate relative hooking up with their hot new flame? Oh, whatever. This show needs a love shack out in the woods or something; this Hotel of Secrets has no privacy.
I still want to know what Cristina was thinking, turning on all the gas and shutting off the power. Trying to hurt Teresa or Diego is an admirable goal, but there were dozens of other people in that hotel who could have been the one to walk in with a candle, including her brother. I think maybe Cristina was not very bright.
Feel better quickly, Princess Juju!
I don't think Angela misses much. I think she did notice Julio's unusual emotion over the death of a stranger, as he was laying out Cristina's body in the room, but she didn't comment on it. She spoke in a neutral tone and said something like everyone deserves a proper sendoff, even a prostitute or thief.
There was an odd moment at the cantina, after the fight, when Felipe was staring at his bloodied hands (Andre's blood, I assume). He looked surprised or as if he couldn't believe what he was looking at. Just an awful lot of blood in last night's episode.
Did enjoy last night's episode. More the little things: Angela getting the troops to join in giving Cristina a final farewell and prayers...definitely not something Teresa would have cared to do, Julio trying to keep it together and careful not to let on his relationship but I do think it didn't take much for Angela to see his pain, Ayala's sarcastic rant to Teresa outside as he left, the doctor trying to protect Sophia and show her care, Isa being there for Julio even at the burial and darn, Felippe the poor, worthless son giving his sister some needed affection at the fountain. That last moment hit home for me how lost and unloved these children of Teresa's are.
Hope Jacinto got a gander of what he just got himself into with Diego.
I actually didn't have a problem with the ending. Sorrow and heartache and a sense of loss or being alone can spur that need to connect to someone. Her is the woman he adores and loves and she comes to him and lets him know she is there for him. I get it and didn't find it odd. And she started it, he just responded and where it leads tonight...
My fear, please dear lord I don't want Mati to squeal anything. I worry sometime that she may appear as a rebel, but she gets to be a rebel at that time because it was rather "fashionable" of a certain level of society to be a tad outrageous. She still has money, she couldn't dress as she does if she didn't, and I assume she has a certain societal standing since woman didn't go to school who didn't have someone supporting them. Will she let Isa run away and throw he privileged life away or blow the horn and send someone after her....
Daisynjay
I'm afraid Jacinto might see Isa running away, since he IS supposed to be spying on her, and tell Diego.
I was thinking that Angela will, at some time down the line, ask Julio about his mourning Cristina. She has enough sense to let it go now, let him be sad, and later, when the time is appropriate, ask him about it.
I think all of you covered the important activities from last night.
I really enjoyed Teresa's squirming as Ayala carefully laid out the trajectory of a body hitting the head and falling--not where the body was--and using Dogbert as a model. She was lucky her Judge friend stepped in. I don't think they were in cahoots, I think he spontaneously wanted to help her avoid any scandal in the Hotel subsequent to the death.
I thought Angela's service was exquisite. I love listening to Daniela Romo's voice, spoken or in song. The timbre is just so, so well, exquisite. I'm sure she will think back on Julio's reaction.
I also thought it was a little early for Julio and Isa to make love. They had been quite angry with each other not a day earlier. OTOH, he was supposed to be leaving, or so she still thought. I thought it was especially tender, though, that he must have asked her if this is what she wanted, because she nodded with a little smile. So, I went with it. He's a gentleman.
Cristina was slated for a pauper's grave with no cross or headstone, since there were NO FAMILY MEMBERS to take care of her. Julio was distraught. He couldn't let that happen without revealing his identity. So, only those who knew about the Julio-Cristina relationship took the body and buried her in the churchyard in the wee hours of the morning.
I was really surprised to see how vicious Diego was beating Garrido. At one point he turned over and his eyes were open as if he'd just awakened from a nap. He didn't look as though he was hurting much at all--but that's telenovela acting for you. Andres looked much worse. I could feel his pain.
Wish everyone, in every language, spoke like our Daniela!
