Pasion y Poder #103 20160311 The Iowans Have Taken Over Mexico
Once again, Julia is moaning to Gaby about how she can't trust Eladio and will never forgive him. Gaby tells Julia to follow her heart and be happy. Lessoned learned ladies: if you don't have sex with your husband for over 20 years, he will eventually have sex with someone else. Correction: he will have sex with a lot of someone elses.
Franco tells Eladio about some protest that he is orchestrating at the Montenegro Riviera Maya construction site. Eladio isn't impressed until Franco explains that he has arranged for the press to be there. Eladio changes the subject to Marintia. Franco needs to tell her to keep her mouth shut. Franco says that he's got her under control. Eladio strongly disagrees. He tells Franco that Julia had better not get mad at him because of this. She doesn't like secrets. Speaking of Julia, she calls and asks Eladio to come home immediately.
When Eladio walks through the door, Julia jumps all over him by demanding answers about his relationship with Caridad. Why secrets do they have between them? Why does he keep meeting with that skanky felon? Eladio says that he is totally not interested in Caridad. The only chick that he love is Julia. Julia says that she can't trust him. Eladio says that he can't trust her either. He reminds her that she has recently spent the night with Art. Julia admits it, but denies having sex with Art. Eladio tells Julia that he thought that she had fell in love with him. Love forgives, he says. They agree that they love each other, but they cannot trust one another. Eladio leaves.
Julia tells her father that Eladio can't be trusted and now Eladio doesn't trust her either. She explains that Eladio is all pissed because she slept in Art's arms. It doesn't matter that she didn't boink Art. Humberto tells her that she needs to be happy and it's good for Eladio to be upset.
Over at the Montenegro mansion, the baptism has ended and Nina spots Jorge and Regina enjoying themselves. Nina refuses to acknowledge the peasant's presence. She tells Regina to stop misbehaving at the family event. Regina begins to protest, but Nina tells her that she has always disapproved of her relationship with Jorge. Jorge leaves.
Connie is packing up the SUV when she gets a text from Miguel. Miguel tells her that he saw everything; she smiles. Erick walks over to her and asks who texted her? Connie tells him her text are not his business. Erick tells her that he will wipe that smile from her face soon.
Art demands to know why Dani was kissing Ashmore. Dani denies it and says that has never been interested in Ashmore. She tells him that she is dating Dave. Art scoffs. Dani calls over Auggie for one of his typically three obligatory lines of the episode. Auggie confirms that Dani has always had the hots for Dave. Art and Dani continue their argument inside the house. Dani tells Art that Ashmore raped her lips with his kisses. Art asks if she somehow teased Ashmore. Again she says that she has only ever been interested in Dave. Speaking of Dave, he walks in and tells Art that he is now dating Daniela. Art can't believe it. He reminds Dani that this morning, Dave was in love with Gina. Dani tells Art that Gina dumped Dave and now she's with Jorge. Art tells Dani that Dave is using her for revenge. Dani says that Dave loves her and that she loves Dave. Art forbids Dani to date Dave. Dani tells Art that she doesn't give a flying fudge what he says, she loves Dave and she is sticking with him. Art orders Dave to leave. On the way out, Gina tells Dave that she is dating Jorge. Dave is totally floored. They have a stare down. They are interrupted by Consuelo who shows Gina a court order.
Consuelo is upset because the judge gave him custody of the baby. She was served papers by Erick's lawyer as she was packing up the car. Erick refused to give back the baby and told her that she would never see him again. Nina said nothing, but looked totally guilty. Consuelo and Gina rush off to see Art.
Art and Dani are still arguing. Dani tells Art that Gina stole Dave from her. Art reminds Dani that she was not in a relationship with Dave. Regina LIVED with DAVE. Dani says that she will fight for the man that she loves. She asks Art if he is going to kick her out? She doesn't care if he does or doesn't. They are interrupted when Consuelo and Gina barge in. Connie tells Art that Erick stole her baby.
Art looks at the documents and tells Connie that nothing can be done. Connie begs him to help her. Art says that the baby will be raised in the lap of luxury. No matter what the judge says, Connie can visit her baby whenever she wants. Connie is not satisfied with this.
Up in the master bedroom, Nina and Erick are cuddling with the baby. They call Petra in and tell her to wash Connie's smell and filth out of the baby's clothes. Petra mistakenly believes that Erick and Connie have reconciled. Nina explains that Erick got custody of the baby. Petra is horrified.
Later, Art finds Nina and yells at her about taking Connie's baby. He knows that she influenced the judge to take that baby. Nina tells Art to move out of the house and she will raise the baby as a Montenegro in it. Art says that he suspected that she was up to something like this. Art gets a phone call, but won't answer it in front of her. She tells him to answer his lover's call.
After Art leaves, Nina tells Erick that Art suspects that she influenced the judge. She tells Erick that the judge told her that no one can know that he helped them. She tells Erick that the judge told her what to do to ensure that no one realizes that he helped her.
Miguel begs Auggie to help Connie regain custody. Auggie tells Miggie that all of this is his fault. He warned him to stay away from his brother's wife. The baby being kidnapped was the icing on the cake. Connie rushes in and runs into Miguels arms. They both beg Auggie to help her. Auggie is in an "I told you so" mood. Connie tells the two men that Erick planned to take the baby from her. She tells them how Erick threatened to wipe the smile off of her face. Connie gets a call from Erick. He tells her that she can come see the baby every morning, but she will be supervised by Nina. Connie accepts the terms and tells Miguel. Miguel isn't happy, but Auggie tells him this is the only way until they can appeal it.
Dave visits Eladio and informs him that he is daing Daniela. Eladio can't believe that he's got two stupid sons and tries to talk Dave out of it. Dave tells Eladio that he is not the moral authority. Eladio tells him that he doesn't allow employees to date. Dave reminds Eladio that he dated the Rat. Eladio tells Dave to learn from his mistakes.
Art tells Gina that Dani and Dave are dating. Auggie tells Art that the press are stalking him and there will be a protest on his construction site. The project will affect some important swamp land. Art asks Auggie to help Connie and Miguel, but not to tell them that that he is helping them.
Franco tells Gaby that she will need to sign a Power of Attorney in front of a notary or attorney. Gaby says that she can't wait for Franco to knock her up. After she leaves, Franco tells someone that he is going to sell the shoe factory without Gaby knowing about it.
Nina and her spawn are in the nursery. Erick tells the women that he needs them to help him raise the baby and to make the baby a great man. Gina tells Dani that she wants to talk to her. Gina gives Dani the death stare.

Let’s just say that Julia is the type of client interior decorators hate to hook up with.
And when you say, Cynderella:
Lesson learned ladies: if you don't have sex with your husband for over 20 years, he will eventually have sex with someone else. Correction: he will have sex with a lot of someone elses,
I can back that up with a professional’s advice. I once had a therapist tell me, in similar circumstances, “Hey, if you go to a bread store and it’s out of bread, and you go back for a few days in a row, and they never have bread, it’s totally within your right to go to a different bread store, don’t you think?”
And going a bit more off-topic here, has Julia ever shown much of a sense of humor? This could be a valuable arrow in her quiver of love when it comes to Eladio. See, I think Eladio has some latent talent in that department – look how he makes me laugh when he shreds Franco –and if Julia could get into that shtick, they could use Humberto as their straight man – remember, he boasts of being a great actor -- and have many more happy times. They could spend evenings inventing skits. Eladio could be Arturo, Julia could be Nina, and Humberto could plop a Davy Crockett hat en su cabeza and be Augustin or a gorilla mask to become Erik. The Gomez Lunas could turn those frowns upside down in no time.
Please excuse my ramblings. That’s what two glasses of wine will do to me. But thanks you again, Cynderella. I really look forward to your “performances.”
Yep, the past two weeks have been soooooooooooo....redundant!! I will tune in for the endings and hope they go my way! I keep nodding off and it's not my age:) Totally agree with Daniel about the couple exchanges going on and on and on, plus what is wrong with Eladio not just sending Franco and his mother and Maurintia on their way to S.A.? Why keep them around if he really wants to win Julia over? These people can't seem to see beyond the end of their collective noses.
I do still swoon when I see Jorge Salinas - great expressive face and eyes. Super actor. FC comes second now.
Gale
Thank you for the awesome recap and for filling in for Mauricio. Great teamwork!
I only have three words for this episode.
Die, Erick, Die!!!
Hasta Pronto
Mauricio, hope all is well.
I've felt sympathy for Nina in the past, but no more. Nina letting that idiot son take a baby away from a loving mother was too cruel for words. Art, stick it to her.
Gale, I'm with you on JS.
David looked like a complete idiot in his scene with Arturo and then later with Eladio. Arturo showed much restraint not clobbering his dumba$$.
Never thought I'd say this, but more Clara and Justino, please.
One error: Dani tells Art that Eladio raped her lips with his kisses. It was Assmore, who becomes more deserving of that nick every day.
I liked seeing Eladio and Arturo being on the same page even if it's the wrong one. Eladio did pull out the no dating policy and David rightly called him out on it, but Eladio also knows that Daniela is bad news. Arturo is thinking that David is bad news now, but that is understandable. I don't think any father would want to see this situation happen and we're all seeing an Ick Factor here. Arturo is witnessing a double dose of it in combination with Consuelo and Miguel.
An inconsistency here: Why wasn't the press all over the relationship between Daniela and Assmore? It's not like they were hiding in dark no-tell motels for the last six months; they were in a club with Erick and his latest ramera. Franco saw them all together and why did he do nothing with this? Did someone see him take a photo at some point?
Something else about the gutter press: Franco has been very short-sighted about the ultimate effect of public recognition by Eladio. There was no way that would be possible without revealing serious information about Caridad. While he may not care about her feelings he should care about the effect of the scandal on the company. He should also care about Julia and Gabriela.
However, his latest action demonstrates that he doesn't care about Gabriela at all. Selling the factory out from under her is disgusting. What happens after that and what lies will he tell her?
More in a bit.
"Dani calls over Auggie for one of his typically three obligatory lines of the episode"
Daniel I totally agree about Julia. I've thought about this, where would I sit her at a dinner party if I was force to invite her?
I am loving Eladio. Who better to dispense advise than a man that has made mistakes and learned from them?
Why was David shocked Regina is with Jorge? Gah, he is as dumb and his mother. I also hope he understands Regina can be hurt or angry he is dating Dani but that doesn't mean she's jealous, loves him and wants to be with him.
"Dani calls over Auggie for one of his typically three obligatory lines of the episode."
Love this. Yep, they trot Augustin in and out every episode. He give wise and sage advice. And then everybody absolutely ignores it. For some reason, though, he persists. So I guess we can assume he'll eventually get his AARP mitts on the nubile but oh0so-gullible Gabriela.
No matter how tedious the other couples are, do.not.want,to, see. more. Clara and Justino. Especially now that I know, from Nandicta, why Clara gets so many scenes. Plus I hate the repetitive shoe catalog product placement.
Anyway, thanks Cynderella and sending more prayers and good wishes for your Mom's continued recovery. And all the folks I know from Iowa are salt of the earth and darned smart too. And I hope there are lots who have your outrageous sense of humor as well.
A second look---I wrote on Thursday that I wasn't impressed with Nina's new look. I detested that awful dark maroon and purple shade lipstick that she has worn in the past but I had always thought that her long wavy hair was beautiful. Her new straight hair look with a minimum amount of makeup is a nice look but divine??? I will admit that I am team Consuelo so some my think that my view is a little tarnished but in all reality I would have to say that Consuelo won the hair, makeup and fashion contest. Consuelo's hair was absolutely beautiful with a luster/sheen that Nina's didn't have. Consuelo's makeup was perfection in every aspect. While Nina looked very good, the winner, for me anyway clearly was Consuelo. Oh, Nina's dress, not bad, ok but nothing to turn heads with.
My real beef or rant was from last Thursday's comments about the reception that was filled with an "undercurrent of long time love and comfort in the Montenegro family." I'm glad that I didn't come from that family of underlying love currents. So where were those love currents coming from? The terrible three Nina, Dani and Erick would certainly be connected to the current. Regina seemed to be but after her rat bastard brother bought full control of little Erick, Regina seemed to loose
that "undercurrent of long term Montenegro love. Was there actually an "undercurrent of love" or could it have been polite restraint by some? Consuelo for sure. --- Where was that "undercurrent of love" by Nina to Regina's new boyfriend Jorge? Nina's greeting was as cold as ice. No "undercurrent of love for her daughter there. Didn't Cynderella write that Nina told Regina to stop misbehaving at the family event? A great Montenegro "undercurrent of love" there as well. Also when she/Nina looked totally guilty towards Consuelo--another wave of that "love undercurrent." Connie is told that she will be allowed to see her son or is it Erick's son now, under Nina's STRONG "undercurrent of Montenegro love."
A question---Are glasses being sold at the patio store?
Julia and Eladio's back and fourth getting old? As someone said a while back that they could watch and listen to Susana Gonzalez read names from a phone book. Me too.
Susana never gets old, not to me anyway.
Nandicta---Didn't your Mexican contacts say that many thought that Gaby was hot but also dumb? Wait till she finds out that her families shoe factory is gone.

Thanks so much for this nifty recap. Well done. I trust that your mom is continuing her recovery unimpeded.
gringo,
I stand by my thoughts about the loving and caring family. I do have to agree with you about Coni's look. I thought that her hair looked great and that she looked very fetching and radiant in that white dress. I've always been a huge fan of Altair Jarabo whether her character is good bad or somewhere in between. She's a truly natural beauty. I also thought that Nina looked fantastic. I like the minimized makeup and straight lustrous dark hair. She looked much as she appeared in Gata Salvaje some years ago. I really liked her dress as well and doubt that there are many women who could get away with wearing that.
I don't like Nina's support for Erick's efforts to deprive Coni of custody of the kidlet. However, I don't think that she is doing it primarily to harm Coni, but more as a selfish misguided effort to have a do over chance at motherhood. I truly believe that she recognizes her shortcomings in her earlier attempts and sees this as a chance to do a better job at it. I also think that it is a bit noble of Erick to be generous in granting Coni such liberal visitation rights and think that likely Nina is responsible for that.
I think that Miguel's grumpiness over Coni seeing Li'l Erick daily is borne of jealousy. I think he fears it will result in a rekindling of the relationship between Coni and Erick.
Carlos
Wow! You said all the things that I've been thinking about the harsh treatment Nina has faced here from the very first episode. Thanks for expressing it so very well.
Carlos
"She dresses inappropriately for all situations and her body shape. The actress is lovely, but the outfits do nothing for her huge behind and thighs." Sorry, I have to say that I think that this comment is body shaming and is always inappropriate.
"control over the shares"....Nina seemed happy with her money situation before the divorce, but unfortunately, even ordinary divorces bring out materialistic fights between opposing forces, this is nothing out of the ordinary.
"flames" I'm not a fan of violent novela outcomes. The real world that we are living in is violent enough for me.
I agree, Nina does seem to hiss as she speaks!!!!
Anon, if this is your first comment...welcome!
As for Nina, she's good example of the worst snobs are those that were poor at one time, but married into money.
Leticia
Carlos
Who is more snobby, old or new money? That is a discussable tropic!!
I doubt that David knows about that incident; the only other person who knows is Nina.
Julia has been shown reading stories to the orphans and playing with them. Just as we don't need constant repetition of the characters' issues in the same words, we don't need repeats of this to remind us that Julia does care about children.
As for Nina, she is a snob and has no right to be one. Her own behavior in public is very declasse and would invite no sympathy from anyone except men blinded by her surface beauty.
The nouveau riche are probably bigger snobs out of insecurity. They don't want to be exposed as not belonging to The Upper Crust and fear guilt by association with the class they have left behind. Old Money doesn't need to worry about this and their carefully-taught behavior allows them to deliver insults and rejections in the most polite way possible, often going over the heads of their targets. I'm surprised Nina didn't learn this, as she attempted to become an actress.
There are also some extraordinary cases of reverse snobbery although I can't think of a novela example at the moment.
Artty is a very large hypocrite he's trying to teach Miguel "stay away from your brother's wife" and he's going Eladios lady. what a freakin hypocrite. Hes tryin to keep his family in line and hes juggling two fightin ladies.
Is marintia in luuuuurve with franco, or just crazy? I'd take the money and my baby and get as far away as I could from that circus. Poor erick jr is stuck in that cesspool. Poor kid, a granny from hell, and a dad thats a candidate for the twilight zone. What a lovin clan they are.
Leticia
This is a novella that is truly unpredictable, with some exceptions. I do find Julia boring at times because she can't make up her mind. I really liked her with Eladio even though he keeps secrets from her. If she ends up with Art and David and Gina get back together it's going to be awkward. Speaking of David and Gina, I don't understand the writers. If Gina and David are end game then why have him date Dani again. It's just gonna make it really weird when Gina and David get back together. No spoiler here, but it makes me think that something will happen to Dani in order for Gina and David to get back together for good. I also question Art's reaction. Is he going to magically accept David and Gina at the end just to have a happy fin even though he has told David time and time again that he doesn't want him anywhere near either of his daughters? Come on writers, give us a break. How many more episodes do we have left?
BTW, did anyone else think that Caridad was trying to flirt with Eladio while he scolded her in his office. I don't think Eladio gave a heck, but it looked to me like she was trying to come on to him. I thought it was both comical and disgusting. It's odd because I like the actress, but I don't like her character. I guess that makes her a good actress.
Hasta Pronto
attitude. You are right though, in that there have been much worse in past novelas.
Carlos---A couple of days ago you stretched a bribe to the judge as possibly just a costly legal proceeding and today you are stretching things again. When Nina realizes that Erick bought off the judge, she, Nina might join forces with Connie and Regina. It's never going to happen and if you keep stretching things, I'm not going to pick up tab anymore for the enchilada and margarita lunches at Frida Restarante.

"When Nina realizes that Erick bought off the judge, she, Nina might join forces with Connie and Regina."
I didn't say that. I think that it's possible that she will be so angry with Erick when she finds out that he is the brains (hah) behind the kidnapping putting the baby at risk. I was merely speculating. Why not just let me pick up the tab with no strings or conditions attached?
Carlos
UA, I think you are spot on with your old money, new money comment.
YES! It's about time Erick finally took Jr., away from Connie!
I'm pulling for him all the way. Teach that dumb blonde a lesson!
That's it for tonight. I'll read more tomorrow.
the gringo
Since you are in Tenn., is this Frida's Restaurante that you're referring to? It looks super. I'm in, how very gracious of you. Thanks.
As for the rich, most of the rich folk that I know are friendly, kind, and generous. Of those rare few who are not, I suppose I'd classify them like this:
Old... snobbish
New... pretentious
Carlos
What'll you have? The Martinis are excellent, Rusty Nails are different and quite smooth.
Carlos
I've been following this novella since day 1, but confess that I haven't read all of the forum posts. I have to say this show was off to a bit of a slow start, but right around episode 60, things started to pick up. What I like most is the complexity of the Eladio and Arturo characters. They are neither all good nor all bad. You're never quite sure who you're supposed to like. But it's not Franco or Eric.
From the beginning I was rooting for Arturo (I'm another one who swoons for JS) but then he started to get stalker-y. No bueno. It was hard to admit it, but I began to like Eladio more for about the last 15 episodes. However now that Eladio is being revisited by his evil twin, I'm going back to Artuto. I really wonder if they are going to have Caridad slide back into Eladio's empty amante slot and how she thinks she can possibly juggle the Marintia / Gabby thing.
What I despise is the centuries-old double standard whereby Eladio expects to be pardoned for years of infidelity, not to mention the small detail of a child by another woman, yet Julia can't possibly be forgiven for spending one night with Arturo where absolutely nothing happened!
I also agree that Julia has been a pretty boring character and you have to wonder why these guys are even fighting over her. I was overjoyed when FINALLY Susana González got a chance to show off her acting chops when all these shoes started to drop.
I also do like Consuelo and Miguel and am sick to death of Regina. After watching the exact same character for months in La Sombra, I can't believe we are being put through this torture again. You have to wonder what these actors think when they see themselves being given the same roles again.
And from a strictly non-storyline point of view, I am always amazed and or shocked by the outfits that are deemed appropriate for office wear. And the hair and makeup. How do they get Julia's hair like that? And what kind of method do they use to make the large seductive waves in Nina's hair? I don't understand Regina's weird pony tail. And the jewelry. One time I took a screen cap of Consuelo's earrings and made some for myself. I realize none of the men in this forum care about these things, sorry guys.
Anyway thanks again for the recap!
Maureen
Maureen, well said but will disagree on one point. Michelle didn't take the same role she just plays every role the same and all she knows.
These people are bringing me down. Everyone just keeps running in circles . It is like Groundhog Day minus Bill Murray.
Carlos...I am putting in my drink order...Drambuie for the Bonnie Prince and me...followed by Asti Spumante...keep it coming.
I actually worried about my (accidental) harshness during the night!!!
Sandy
Susanlynn, my selfie wouldn't break the Internet, just the mirror and camera!
We are completely hooked on Outlander!
Carlos, I think we are meeting at Gringo's Frida Restaurante, not the one in Memphis. This is after a round of drinks on the patio, of course. I'll bring Jack, you can bring Linda and now that Julia is freeish, maybe she could be Gringo's date. We know he won't ask Nina!!!
I would not be shocked if he sends someone to whack Miguel or Connie for good!
Would others agree that Erick is our top villain? It will be hard to beat arranging a babynapping as far as crimes go. We don't know exactly what happened with Monserat yet, that is a factor.
OT..Sandy, reading about those scenes was not quite as awful as seeing them played out on the screen. YIKES. Next season will feature gorgeous clothes and places but new terrors , heartache, and angst. Beware. Buy some Drambuie , some biscuits, and maybe a nice, snuggly shawl and something to cuddle.
Humberto is the most selfish character in this entire story. I shudder at what he must have been like in his younger days when he was able-bodied. We know he emotionally abused his wife and both his daughters.
Amanda was lucky to have gotten out when she did and find a husband who loved her. This couple did not deserve to have their lifestyle reduced to pay Humberto's gambling debts and die later (to bring about the reconciliation of Gabriela and Julia). Not to mention that Eladio paid those debts that Amanda and her husband couldn't cover. After all the abuse -- which must have gotten worse when Humberto's wife died -- the old humbug would have deserved to end up in a state-run facility and never see either of his daughters again.
Luis Bayardo is doing an incredible job here cast against type.
In the 1991 series En Carne Propia the principle villain Octavio (played by Gonzalo Vega) arranged the kidnapping of 5-year old Estefania to extort $1MM US from his father-in-law, who had reneged on a promise to promote him in his company. He had two accomplices, one of which was his best friend. Their plan was to do the ransom call to Octavio's wife (played by Angelica Aragon), get the money, and Octavio would deliver the ransom and come back with the child.
They foolishly trusted the other man who got greedy, kidnapped the child for real, and demanded the money. Octavio was to meet him in a clearing where he would land in a helicopter and they would make the exchange. There was a newspaper on the desk when Octavio and his friend got that call and Octavio had his friend pull out a pair of scissors to cut the newspaper into dollar-bill sized pieces. He bundled them with real money on both sides of each bundle and repacked the briefcase, which had a false bottom in which he rigged an altitude-sensitive bomb.
The exchange was made and the other man went into the helicopter. He opened the briefcase before it took off and saw that he had been duped. He came back out before Octavio got into his car and grabbed the child at gunpoint. Octavio pulled out his pistol but was shot in the leg and in his left hand before he could fire. He collapsed on the ground next to his car and heard the helicopter take off. He looked up and cried out in horror as the bomb exploded, turning the helicopter into a fireball.
End of opening episode.
If Erick had done something like this we'd have to have 80 more episodes to resolve it, during which he'd be free to cause more havoc.
OK, so I didn't make up the Iowa thing. I've always heard that horrible joke form those evil Nebraskans and horrible people from Minnesota. JK. They would tease us and say stuff like Nebraska has a state zoo. They just put a fence around Iowa. Their bullies and they have to be stopped.
. I took care of my very feisty mother. It is a character building challenge, so hang in there !
You are right that I wouldn't be asking Nina but as for Julia? I'm sure that Noreen my long loving wife would not be happy with that and so I will put that suggestion into a dream classification.
Erick as the top baddie? I say yes to that with Humberto just a half of a percentage point behind. --- Urban--good comment at 11:20
Another lurker on board, that's good.
I can't comment on those Mid-State jokes as I don't understand them. I'm from the Left Coast so what do I know?
One last thing---Eladio is giving Caridad and Marintia both jobs again because, well they both need work. True, but Eladio must have many contacts in other company's. Surely he could find someplace else for their employment. He's asking for trouble with that move.
Steve---Miguel and Consuelo are not going to get whacked. Well Miguel possibly but probably not as that would leave Consuelo alone and without love, something that she has been missing all of her life. So I will gamble/bet that there will be no whacking to either one.
More things are bound to come to light tonight. I plan to be front and center.

To Everyone- Apologies for not being around The PyP Patio this weekend. I got busy with work related things and wasn't able to write a recap for Friday night. I'll be back this coming Friday. :)
Welcome Daniel and Maureen!
Appreciated your stellar recap immensely. "Dani calls over Auggie for one of his typically three obligatory lines of the episode" was true and insightful.
I am truly dismayed over Consuelo losing custody (even though we suspected as much).
For a moment, with her downcast eyes and almost-on-the-edge of caring expression, I thought Nina might rally to Consuelo's defense. But no...I felt she crossed the line long ago but rigging the outcome and watching Connie plead for her child was unforgiveable in my book.
I'm rooting for Arturo and Julia now. Keeping the knowledge of his grandchild's birth to himself was the final straw. Take your reprehensible son with you and go.
Diana
The only characters who have seen Erick at his disgusting worst so far are Consuelo, Miguel, and now Daniela. Daniela hasn't ratted him out to anyone and Nina won't listen to Consuelo or Miguel, both of whom she hates. I also wonder whether she would believe Daniela.
Finally, the idea that Erick Jr will inherit the entire Montenegro fortune is beyond ridiculous in the 21st century.
